Each of our airboat adventures is different and nothing is staged. With Spirit of the Swamp, you get the true Florida experience complete with amazing wildlife, and stunning scenery!

There’s never any charge for a weather related cancellation, we issue an immediate refund in full.  If you’d like to rebook, we’ll do our best to reschedule you to a different day. We recommend you book early in your vacation or holiday so that you’ll have time to reschedule – just in case Mother Nature has other plans.

In the spring and summer you should dress like you would for any other outdoor activity, sunglasses are always a great idea!  In late fall and winter, dressing in layers works best as it always feel cooler when you’re moving across the water…

What is a Swamp Buggy?

Swamp Buggies are open, custom motorized vehicles with a canopy top. They also have powerful tractor tires to move effortlessly through the swamp, while acting as shock-absorption to riders. Thus, the expression “bounce” around on a swamp buggy. More specifically, swamp buggies are designed to provide visitors with an elevated view of the Florida Everglades. In this environment, swamp buggy vehicles stomp through the wetlands, cypress heads and hardwood hammocks. A swamp buggy travels over dry land and muddy marshes, giving you a great view to see plants and animals that an airboat can’t reach. In contrast, on this open ride, you are the one in a “cage,” not the animals.

Great Natural Location

This very family friendly business operates out of Middleton’s Fish Camp located on beautiful Lake Kissimmee. It’s the third largest lake in Central Florida which covers over 36,000 acres and is surrounded by state wildlife parks, recreational areas and pristine protected wetlands. There is virtually no development at all, its pure Florida and Mother Nature’s bounty is on show everywhere you look! There are no big theme parks or animatronic animals out here – this is definitely the real thing! It’s rugged and beautiful and you can enjoy it all in complete safety.

Getting There

Kissimmee Swamp Tours is located about an hour from Disney and Orlando in Central Florida, but extremely easy to find.

Small Fast Airboats

The fleet is made up of smaller 6 passenger boats providing an intimate, and exciting tour for everyone in your family or group. Private tours are also available, though with only 6 people onboard every tour tends to feel this way.

Every passenger has their own headset to not only offer a quieter airboat tour, but to also to allow everyone to effortlessly speak to each other and the captain. they allow the captain to point out wildlife and information on the airboat tour.

Wonderful Place - Great Swamp Buggy Tour

We drove over here to spend the day and take the Swamp Buggy Tour which was fabulous. We saw many birds and several huge alligators sunning themselves on the bank of a slough. The highlight of the day was seeing two groups of wild pigs - one on the prairie itself and the other group ran across the road about 1/4 mile directly in front of us. The volunteer guide Bruce was very personable and knowledgeable about local plants and wildlife. I highly recommend this park and buggy ride for those who want to see the "real" Florida.

We camped here for one night in October for 3 reasons: 1- breakup a long drive to the Keys 2- to see "one of the largest remaining stretches of Florida dry prairie", the real Florida. 3- check out the excellent star gazing The place is very "other" from what we think of when we think of Florida. Definitely in the middle of NOWHERE so bring what you need. Very nice small campground with the BEST bathroom and showers we have EVER encountered in only many years of camping. Sadly... it was a little cloudy so the star gazing was not that good

My husband and I with our 2 year old brought the Coleman camper & the flats boat for the weekend to lot 18. It had enough space on the camp site to fit the boat, camper, tent screen over the picnic table, and two full sized trucks. Beautiful scenery. Amazing fishing!! The restrooms were clean and had good showers. Will be back soon! Loved the experience.

I really love going to this park, it's just very aggravating to travel 4 hrs. only to have the staff racing up down the trails, chasing the wild life away while we try and take pictures. Do visitors a favor and post signs on the trails, so we will know when not to waste our time hiking down a trail only to find a mud buggie or 4wheeler coming at us. By using the mud buggies you have created huge ruts on the trails making it difficult to walk on the trail. You could have the staff walk down the trails like you ask the visitors to do. If you can get over not being able to hike down a actual walking trail, you will see deer and turkey , birds everywhere.

If you have never seen Florida as it used to be, this is the place to come. I'm fortunate to have bought property nearby and I will soon be moving there. I was born and raised in south Florida and I'm moving there to be closer to the "real" Florida.

This park felt so remote and far away from the craziness of the city (we love this)! Beautiful scenery, with so many wild flowers, the vegetation was just gorgeous. We saw many animals, deer, birds of all types, a gator or two and even cows! We were just driving through and decided to stop by and I am so happy we did. The fee is on the honor system no one is up front. You drive on a very long road and you instantly start seeing wild life. There were many trails to choose from. The scenery often change from lush green to dry, to short bushes and different types of wild flowers to oasis of trees bunched up together. The trails mostly did not have much cover, this is why this park is so famous for the amateur astronomers or just folks like my husband and I that love to star gaze. I recommend you come in the winter time, wait if you can when you know there will not be a full moon to come and enjoy the stars. We will definitely be coming back and better prepared to enjoy all this park has to offer. Some areas were just absolutely magical. Wheelchair access only in certain area, some of the trail are too sandy for a wheelchair. On the main road you take you can see everything from the car too.

This is not a surrealist landscape hung on a museum’s wall; it is an unforgettable destination that you should include on your Orlando vacation itinerary. Just 15 minutes away from Walt Disney World – go west on U.S. Highway 192 and turn north on U.S. 27 – you’ll find Showcase of Citrus , the perfect location for a Central Florida ecotour . This farm south of the city of Clermont, which, as its name suggest, is a visual spectacle of green, yellow and orange tones. This is one of the few places where the seasonal harvest of 75 varieties of delicious oranges, sweet grapefruits and tender tangerines is planned with the visitor in mind. Here, guests have an open invitation to pick up these fruits with their own hands.       Every year, this organic orange grove draws thousands of tourists interested not only in trying delicious fruits or visiting Orlando theme parks such as Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal , but also hoping to add a touch of ecotourism to their vacations without going too far. Those excited to check out the farm’s 2,500 acres of sown field and swampy land can safely ride atop of a fun truck with huge wheels, a swamp buggy, that’s able to plow through the muddy terrain. Called "the biggest Monster Truck in the world," this vehicle is the king of the Central Florida swamps. Located in the northernmost part of South Florida’s famous Everglades, a section of Showcase of Citrus is the natural habitat to alligators, birds of prey, snakes, turtles, deer, turkey, wild hogs and cranes, along with extensive vegetation that includes cypresses firmly rooted in the water, cedar and mahogany trees, and of course, the royal palm of Florida. Joining the wildlife are herds of cattle that, graze quietly alongside alligators. Noticing the monster truck arriving, the cows eagerly await the oranges that visitors will toss their way. This unique combination of orange groves and wildlife will make your trip an enduring memory, especially if your visit coincides with the wonderful aromas of the orange blossoms in bloom, between January and May. The drivers double as tour guides whose skillful driving and knowledge of the environment keep the tour entertaining. "We are the only citrus farm with 75 varieties of orange trees originally planted to be picked by hand, which can be enjoyed by the entire family," said farm owner John Arnold. "Our monster truck is the only ride that takes you to the most northern part of the head waters of the Everglades that you can (enjoy), and, in a very natural way, not as a safari." The truck makes several of the nearly 1.5-hour trips to the swamp throughout the day. The first, early in the morning, and the last, late in the evening, are recommended. "It’s easier to see the animals at dawn, when they’re hanging around, or in the evening, because they’re kind of quiet, getting ready to lie down," says a driver that goes by the name of Buffalo.

When you go... 

The farm's entrance and grounds offer an attraction of their own. When you arrive, the first thing you'll notice is one of the famed swamp buggies, with black and yellow stripes and huge wheels, parked in front of the farm. Then, take in the kitschy landscape of artificial sharks and plastic alligators floating in the middle of a lake. But don’t fool yourself; keep in mind that any track of water in Florida can be the home of a real alligator. On the farm, you can try slices of fresh fruit, natural juices and organic jams, and buy your own to take home. Picking oranges and filling a bag can cost between $10 and $20, and a trip on the monster truck costs $20 for adults and $15 for children. Discounts are available to groups.

This was an absolutely great airboat tour. AJ was our guide, who was informative and humorous too! I had a keen interest in birding and he pointed out about 10+ species of birds including 4 bald eagles. We saw about 5-10 alligators during our visit. Would visit again & highly recommend!

Wild Willys was a great Airboat ride through the marshes. Saw several gators and lots of wildlife. The guide was knowledgable about the area and very friendly. The people inside were also very friendly and knowledgable. Definitely recommend.

The one-hour airboat ride was perfect. We saw a variety of wildlife. The speed of the boat (what I really came for) was good, some fast times, some slow times. I chose the 9am time to avoid the sun and heat, and that was perfect too. I highly recommend Wild Willy's.
