My son didn't want to leave

Floored by the service

Both our nanny and I were quite literally speechless at how well my 2.5-year-old's appointment went today. He'd gone to the pediatrician a week earlier and had a meltdown when she tried to look in his mouth, so to be honest, I was dreading his first dental appointment. But this practice is magic: Ever so slowly, the wonderful dental hygienist (I'm so sorry I didn't get your name!) and Dr. Safari drew him in with toys, tricks, and chatting. I still can't quite put into words exactly how they did it! But they weaved their spell and he sat there like a dream as Dr. Safari cleaned his teeth. The goody bag, vending machine, and Thomas the Tank Engine "diploma" at the end were a bonus. I'm so relieved and feel so lucky to have found this practice. They clearly put a lot of time, energy, and child-psychology skills into everything they do, and it pays off. THANK YOU!

To top it off I came here for a second opinion the other practice told me my son needed 5 crowns under anesthesia in the hospital. Dr Sally assured me and proved with xrays that my son did not need anything close to that. He had 5 small cavities that she filled right in the office. She also called that night to make sure he was still ok. Dr. Damani's inspiration for the office design came from her experience participating in a volunteer outreach mission in a remote village in Tanzania. The majesty and beauty of the African savannah captured her imagination. Designing the office theme around it was a natural choice for an exciting and child-friendly office design. In addition, the office has a movie and video game area for your children to enjoy. Welcome to Pediatric Dental Safari!

In addition to the training required in order to maintain their licenses and certificates, the staff receives regular training in-office to ensure the maintenance of proper skills and techniques while also improving upon them. Patient feedback plays an important role here and all comments and suggestions from parents are taken seriously.

Dr. Safari is an experienced, NZ-trained medical doctor. After completing her medical degree, she worked in the Dunedin Public Hospital then as a GP before setting up Dr. Safari Appearance Medicine in 2006.

Dr. Safari is hugely passionate about helping people and with minimally invasive techniques can restore, revive and replenish her clients skin to reveal a face that is visibly younger and healthy-looking. Her aim is to make clients look refined, and always elegant. Dr. Safari has a great interest in art and believes that medical aesthetics is where art meets medicine – therefore combining her two passions.

She has performed thousands of treatments and is valued by her clients for being friendly, non-judgmental and discrete. Dr. Safari is a strong believer in the ‘less is more’ approach, using the latest techniques to ensure that clients look refreshed and revitalised without looking like they have had “work done”.
