James Blunt announces Newcastle Utilita Arena date on new tour - how to get tickets

The star's new album, Who We Used To Be, will be released this October alongside his new memoir and will be followed by a tour across Europe

James Blunt is heading to Newcastle in 2024 on a huge tour to bring brand new music to fans, with tickets going on sale next week.

The singer, who shot to fame in 2004 with the hit singles You're Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover from his debut album, is embarking on a tour across Europe next year to mark the release of his latest work. The star's seventh album, Who We Used To Be, will be out on October 27, and will be his first since his previous album Once Upon A Mind was released in 2019.

The 49-year-old will be playing at the Utilita Arena on Thursday, April 4 next year, as one of 12 UK dates to finish off a massive tour across several European countries including France, Belgium, Italy and Germany. James will also be stopping off in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, Brighton, Bournemouth, Cardiff and London throughout March and April in 2024.

Tickets will be available to buy via Ticketmaster on Friday, September 1 at 10am. Fans who pre-order the new album from the James Blunt website by August 29 can also get access to the early ticket pre-sale on Wednesday, August 30, the star confirmed on Instagram.

James said of his upcoming tour: "I cannot find the words to say how excited I am to get back out on the road again on tour in 2024. My new album was incredibly fun to write and record, and some of the new songs will undoubtedly get you up on your feet and dancing again. I’m looking forward to crowd surfing at a venue near you!"

As well as regular tickets, where there will be several tiers to choose from ranging from floor to lower tier, upper tier and balcony seating in the Newcastle arena, there are also packages available for diehard fans. On September 1, the Hospitality Experience will be released, which comes with a dedicated entrance, prime view seat, access to the arena lounge and a welcome drink on arrival.

There's also the luxury Utilita Experience package, which comes with everything included in the Hospitality package plus a gourmet three-course meal. Tickets will be subject to a booking fee, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

October will be a busy month for James Blunt, as the day before his new album comes out he is also releasing a new memoir, Loosely Based On A Made-Up Story. Available to pre-order from Amazon or Waterstones , the autobiography follows the star's life from boarding school, to military service, to music stardom.

Everyone’s mum’s fave singer-songwriter is back: James Blunt has announced that he’s going on a massive European tour in 2024. And better yet, it’ll end on home ground in the UK .

The Who We Used To Be Tour is so-called after Blunt’s new album of the same name (which is out on October 27). Spanning about two months, it’ll take Blunt through 12 major European countries, starting in  France .
