A brilliant, informative, and very fun day trip to Transylvania!

I went to Bucharest as a solo female traveler and wanted to find some way to be able to experience Transylvania without all of the hard work of catching trains! This was perfect.

Classic Romania Tour (small group)

This was our very first time visiting Romania. My husband and I are from the United States and we only speak English so this trip was definitely out of our comfort zone. We first booked our tour for September 2020. We found the perfect tour, it was incredibly easy to book and the price was amazing. I studied the itinerary and it had everything we wanted to do. Between the summer of 2020 and our actual tour in August 2021 we had to reschedule twice due to Covid-19 and travel restrictions. Rescheduling was made so easy and we never had to pay more to reschedule. Everytime I had questions or concerns about traveling to Romania from the United States my emails were answered within 24 hours. We were provided with transportation to and from the airport. This was a pleasant surprise since we arrived four days before the tour and left five days after the tour ended. The hotels we stayed at were perfect. They were very nice hotels with large comfortable rooms. We even changed our hotel in Bucharest for our last five nights to the hotel we stayed at on the first day of our tour. That's how much we loved it. The places we visited on the tour and the activities that were planned were even more amazing that i could have ever imagined. It was the small details that made our trip to Romania so memorable. I have so many magical memories from our tour but these are my top 5: The amazing dinner we had to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. We had a table under the stars where we experienced a little bit of rain (the only rain we had in 15 days) for luck on our marriage and they had a band come in and play. The music and songs were so beautiful. We saw a traditional dance and my husband and I were asked to join. Between the delicious food and drinks, music and dancing, and the great company it will be a night I will never forget. Going to the Turda Salt Mine was an experience like none other. The first time you see it will leave you breathless. We walked down into the main area where they have different things you can do. Then we walked down even further below to see the lake at the bottom of the salt mine. You can even rent a boat to take out on the lake. We rode the Ferris wheel and it was the perfect way to see all of the salt mine. The different churches and monasteries we were able to visit were so full of history and beauty. They really show off the history of religion throughout the country. The art and décor is absolutely stunning. Peles Castle was by far my favorite. It is absolutely breathtaking. It is so beautiful and it is still fully furnished. You are able to tour the castle and really imagine what it would have been like to live there. You could spend all day wandering from room to room just looking at everything. The outside of the castle is just as stunning. The tour of Bucharest was so informative. We were shown so many important locations throughout the city and learned so much about Romania's history. We got to take a walking tour where more of Romania's history was explained to us. The tour did a great job setting the tone for the rest of our tour. I can't say enough good things about this tour. We learned Romania's history, we met the most amazing people and created memories that will last a lifetime. After this trip Romania will always hold a special place in my heart. Florin was our tour guide. I don't think there is a word that can truly describe how amazing he is. I like to think of him as the Dream Maker because he makes dreams come true. He is so knowledgeable, pretty sure he knows everything, and will always answer your questions. He is so passionate about what he does and it shines through him. Florin was always willing to share what he knows with us. Florin always had great stories about the places we went and things we saw. He made taking in all of the information interesting and fun. Every single day I always had a huge smile on my face because he made sure we were always having fun. There was never a dull moment and he made us feel very comfortable the whole time. I told Florin I had always wanted to see a brown bear in the Carpathian Mountains and we saw 2! Florin made it possible for me to watch a cow be milked and her newborn calf fed. He took us to a blacksmith where he was able to speak to the blacksmith to have a special item made for me that I had told Florin I really wanted. I will never forget the 'Penguin House' or the great stories on 'the Bridge of Lies'. He told us about Electric Castle and we were able to experience that concert for free. I could write a book on our trip and all of the information that we learned. Rolandia and Florin made my dream trip come true. Anyone who has the pleasure of taking this tour and hitting the jackpot getting Florin as a tour guide you will not be disappointed and your dreams will come true.

The itinerary was great; however, it could do with a bit more time in a couple of places like Iasi. I recommend Rolandia, especially when traveling from far away places that require insiders' knowledge to plan and execute your trip. Thanks again to all for making our trip so successful.

Hiking in South Transylvania

The Carpathian Mountains of Romania are stunning and we enjoyed each day of hiking this beautiful area. Kosten our hiking guide was knowledgeable and adjusted our daily hikes per our requests. His expertise and humour greatly enriched our experience. Accommodations and meals were good and mixing in some cultural sites of the area was a bonus. A great week!

Dracula Tour in Romania from Bucharest including 'The Ritual of Killing of a Living Dead

This was my dream vacation come true. I will treasure these memories forever. However, the Tour Radar brochure shows this tour is for people 7 - 90 years old. This is very deceiving. There is no way a 90 year old could do all the walking involved. This is a very intense walking tour and there is much walking every day. This needs to be specified. There would be very little wheelchair access along this tour. Additionally, Poienari Fortress has been closed for several years with no plan to reopen anytime soon. This attraction was one of the reasons I booked this specific tour. You need to remove it from the brochure. Again, it is very misleading. Also remove the Borgo Pass, as they do not go there. This was another attraction I wanted to see but did not get to. You may want to add to the brochure that there are several hotels that do not have air conditioning. All that being said I had the most wonderful time.

1. Any packages delivered by Pan Travel are based on the contract, signed by both parts. 2. The contract includes – detailed description of services (programme, accommodation, transportation, boarding etc.) – duration – number of participants – price – payment* – cancellation** * Pan Travel will deliver to the client a pro-forma invoice for the services specified by the contract. Once the payment has come through, Pan Travel will issue the final invoice.

Payment will be made by bank wire, as following: – a deposit of 30% within 7 days from the signature of the contract – the final payment must be completed at last 30 days before the date of the beginning of the trip. For last minute bookings (less than one month before the beginning of the rip), the payment must be done in one installment.

Payment can be made by credit card too.

** Notice of cancellation by the CLIENT must be made in all cases in writing signed by the person who signed the contract. Cancellation is effective from the date of receipt by the ORGANIZER of such notice. Pan Travel will refund the amount paid by the client, deducting the cancellation charges and the bank transfer fees. The CLIENT cannot cancel only part of the services included in a package.

CANCELLATION CHARGES

If the CLIENT cancels the trip, the following percentage of the total package price will be deducted as a cancellation charge: – more than 30 days before the departure date: 10% of total amount – 29 – 20 days: 25 % of total amount – 19 – 10 days: 50 % of total amount – 9 – 4 days: 80 % of total amount – less than 4 days or NO SHOW: 100% of total amount

If the CLIENT purchased a trip cancellation insurance, the insurance company will refund the cancellation charge based on the invoices delivered by the travel ORGANIZER.

• If you are a travel agency, tour operator or a company: we can organize tours or events for your groups. We are what is called in the travel industry a local destination management company in Romania (DMC)

• Focusing on what’s true and authentic about Romania – we’d rather offer a genuine experience than stage it.
• Going local and going rural so we can offer an enriching, immersive cultural experience. This can involve eating at local restaurants and farms, attending traditional events meant for locals, visiting local markets, traveling in small groups so we are not intrusive, trying local produce such as wine, brandy, gems and cheese, learning how traditional crafts are practiced and going to the quaintest places in the country.

• The main topics of our tours are  culture ,  rural traditions and nature ,  food & wine ,  photography ,  genealogy and ancestry . We tailor our tours to your particular interest so having a call is an important step in designing a tour for you.

• Our average tour length is 10 days, but we’ve done many 1 week trips and even a 32 days tour.
• We promote a type of tourism that benefits the local economy while trying to preserve the local heritage and environment. We believe in responsible and sustainable travel .
