Bethaney I had no clue you could do Paypal for many of these charges. People and businesses know more digital nomads – and part time travelers – are using creative/alternative ways to pay for stuff. Why not listen to the people, right? I myself use PP so a few of these methods would work nicely for me.

Thanks for the share Bethaney. Keep on inspiring!

Thanks Ryan! I hope these tips help you out when you’re next booking some travel.

' src=

There are a lot of things and places I buy at online that I won’t use anything but Paypal but I’ve never really thought of using it for travel. I don’t think it’s an option with a most of my preferred airlines and booking sites from Australia but I’ll definitely watch out for it going forward

' src=

I would have also never thought about using Paypal. That is interesting. I think, my biggest concern though, would be the fees. What has been your experience with that?

' src=

These are actually some really good tips. Thanks for sharing!

' src=

I love the ease of paypal but I had no idea how useful it was! Thanks for putting this together

' src=

I’m a big fan of Paypal. I never thought to use it when I am travelling though, but it’s very sound advice

' src=

I had no idea you could use paypal to pay for so many travel related things – very eye opening!

' src=

I’m not really an avid paypal user, to be honest, but maybe I should give it a decent try if it makes my travellings easier!

' src=

This list is great! I just recently booked my flight home using my paypal account with Qatar Airways and didn’t know about that discount code. Really useful tips!

' src=

Nice roundup! This will be so helpful for those who do not want to use credit or debit cards, although PayPal does offer one of those, too, in the U.S.

' src=

Paypal is really picking up! I am in China right now, which is a difficult place to book with US credit cards, especially for domestic flights. Being able to use Paypal solved all my problems.

' src=

I’ve started to use Paypal more recently because it is so secure and easy. I’ve booked flights with no extra fees which is great if you regularly spend on travel. It just makes sense for businesses to offer this as a payment option. Great advice, I’ll be doing this more and for accommodation next time. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to withdraw and spend one’s Paypal earnings in the country of the currency? ie I’m Australian, but have earned some USD which are in Paypal, and would like to use those whilst in the USA rather than pay for conversion fees etc both ways. Hope that makes sense.

I don’t know that you could withdraw cash in US unless you had one of those fancy Paypal debit/credit cards that you can get with US accounts. You CAN spend in USD on all these kinds of booking sites like Priceline, Hotels.com etc. So you’re earning and spending USD without converting it to AUD. Does that make sense?

Hi Bethaney Thanks for the reply. Yes it does make sense, and that’s what I thought, I was just wondering if anyone knew of some way to spend Paypal $$ in retail stores.

' src=

Hi Bethany,

Thanks for the article. I’m actually looking for any websites similar to Viator.com that sells tickets/pass for attractions? Viator is good but they don’t receive payment through PayPal. May be you can add it to your list 🙂 Have a great day!

Cheers, Sunu

Hi Sunu. I don’t know of any sites like that off the top of my head unfortunately. What were you specifically trying to book? What location? I’ll take a look around and see if there is anything I can add to my post. Thanks for commenting! Bethaney

Thanks for your reply Bethaney, Greetings from Indonesia. I’m planning to take my family to go on a vacation to New Zealand. While I can use agoda to book my accomodations, I still have difficulty to book/purchase main attractions tickets in this beautiful country, such as Hobbiton Movie set, Waitomo Caves, Shotover Jet, Milford Sound cruise, etc. We also plan to travel on a campervan in South Island, so it also nice to know if there’s any Holiday Park/Campervan Site that accept PayPal as payment method. Many thanks in advance Bethaney 🙂 You have a great day.

' src=

Awesome post! I didn’t know we could use paypal this much! So useful!

Thanks a lot, Bethaney!

' src=

Neither Cheaptickets, bravofly, nor Hotwire gave me the option to use PayPal. Your info might be out of date. The only travel service site I found that offers payment by PayPal is cheapoair.com, but their prices suck.

It sometimes depends on which airline you’re booking and even which country you’re flying from and to. Keep trying! Have a look at Webjet too.

' src=

I am interested in using PayPal Credit to finance a vacation (12 month financing, for example). Is that possible? If so, through what Travel Agencies, etc.?

Financing a vacation is a bad idea in my opinion.

' src=

Philippine-based airline Cebu Pacific accepts PayPal too. 🙂

Thanks Cyril! That’s good to know. I booked a Cebu flight a while back but they didn’t have Paypal. Looks like they do now! Will add it to the list.

' src=

I wasn’t able to use Paypal for flights on Hotwire, Dec. 2016, despite their FAQs still mentioning Paypal payments. The option is not there at checkout. I called them and got transferred around, was on hold forever, so eventually gave up.

I think with Hotwire it actually depends on what airline you’re trying to book flights with unfortunately.

' src=

Question: if you have no balance on paypal, can you still book/pay for a plane ticket?

No. Your account needs to have enough money in it.

' src=

G – I think Bethany must be thinking of paypal credit. You didn’t specify. You don’t have to have a balance on paypal to make any purchase on it so long as it is linked to your bank account, because that is where the money will come out of. However, if you wish to use paypal credit, and stretch payments out, then you need to have a paypal credit account and be below your limit.

' src=

Lulululu, I want to book a hotel on expedia and stay there for two nights. I don’t have any money in my PayPal but I have PayPal credit. If i book the hotel and chose the PayPal option will it count as credit or do i need money in my account to book it? And if it counts as credit, I’m able to pay it off monthly right?

No idea sorry!

We just paid for the US portion of an upcoming trip on paypal and found this website very helpful. However, I would like to caution everyone about using booking websites like hotwire. We’ve twice recently used them for hotels, the second time paying in advance, only to discover the hotel had no room. The staff at the second hotel was very helpful and told us this happens ALL THE TIME. The first time, we were in Washington DC and checking in fairly late at night. The hotel staff was hostile and seemed to blame us for the over booking. They didn’t; even want us to use their electricity to plug in our laptop and search for another hotel. Neither we, nor hotwire were able to find us a hotel at all. We ended up heading home a day early, after napping in a walmart parking lot for a few hours. The second time we used expedia. We were in Charleston and were able to find another hotel, but it was a huge hassle, and we ended up in an efficiency place instead of the boutique hotel we had taken the time and care to book.. There is no way on earth I will ever use a booking site again. I certainly would not use one for over seas travel, where we likely would not know of a place that would be open all night and had bathroom facilities. Since it is my daughter who will be flying, and she’s relatively inexperienced, you better believe I would not use one. Be aware too that there are far fewer booking websites than you may think. Several of them are owned by the same company.

So what do you do instead? For this upcoming trip, we used a booking site of find what we wanted, and then booked it directly through the airline.

BUT, there is something else. We began to realise we were only seeing a handful of international airlines, when in fact, many fly out of major hubs like Atlanta and JFK.. You end up paying quite a bit for the convenience of using an airline that can afford to be contracted with one of the booking sites. In the case of the international leg of the journey, the best price we could find after days of searching was $1250.00 round trip. By looking at what airlines that are not associated with a booking site had to offer, we ended up paying 749.00 round trip. Thy didn’t accept paypal, but for that amount of money, who cares?

Ease and Comfort: The Advantages of Using PayPal for Flight Bookings

Whether you’re jetting off for a business trip or embarking on a long-awaited vacation, you can use PayPal to book business-class lounges or snag economy seats. Increasingly less confined by geography or specific airlines, PayPal for flight bookings is becoming more global.

Booking a flight can be a whirlwind of excitement. The anticipation of new places and experiences can often leave you in a rush to secure the best deal. However, this is precisely when you should remember to pay close attention to the details, especially when considering payment options.

Rules To Fly By: Understanding Geographic Restrictions for Flight Bookings

Using PayPal for flights can provide a convenient and secure method of payment. Its “virtual card” feature obscures your real credit card information. However, some airlines might only allow PayPal payments from customers located in specific regions or countries, or for customers paying in particular currencies.

For example, certain airlines might only accept PayPal payments from U.S.-based customers, whereas others might restrict payment to customers who use their mobile app to book flights. Each airline has its own policies, so don’t assume one airline’s rules will apply to another — it’s always wise to check directly with the airline you’re considering.

Check Your Baggage: A Note on Possible Fees

It’s also important to be aware of potential transaction charges. While most airlines integrate PayPal payments at minimal or no cost, others may levy additional fees. These charges might look small initially, but they can add up. Be sure to check for any extra fees to avoid unplanned expenses. It’s also a good idea to review  fees that PayPal may charge to be sure you’re up to speed on the fine print.

With many airlines now supporting PayPal in their payment options, booking flights has become even more convenient and secure. However, it’s worth noting that airlines may change their policies occasionally. It’s best to check if your preferred airline accepts PayPal for flights before finalizing your travel plans.

Booking air travel with PayPal is a good choice for travelers who want the convenience and security of using a digital wallet, and it’s a widely available option for many destinations. Remember to double-check the details with your chosen air carrier, ensure you’re aware of any additional fees and always book well in advance in case you run into any problems. Safe travels!

Which Airlines Accept Paypal Payments for Flights?

paypal airlines

Over the last years Paypal has firmly established itself as a mainstream online payment provider with millions of users worldwide. An increasing number of international airlines offer Paypal as a payment method for flight tickets.

Many people prefer paying by Paypal for convenience and security as they often do not have to fill any credit card details directly online during the transaction.

Here are a few things to bear in mind when using Paypal for flights:

*Before booking you should already have a Paypal account , which is relatively simple to set up.

*Be aware that some airlines can have various restrictions for making Paypal payments. Paypal may only be available for residents of certain countries or for payments in specific currencies.

*When considering using Paypal as a form of payment do check the fee the airline charges – and compare this to other forms of payment that may be available.

*When paying by Paypal it is possible to make the payment via a credit card, debit card, bank transfer or using any positive balance in your Paypal account.

*Do remember that paying directly by credit card in most countries offers a higher degree of consumer protection should the airline or travel company go bankrupt. For example, in the UK paying by credit card for goods priced £100 to £30,000 makes the retailer and card company jointly liable. And paying by credit card via Paypal does not offer the same protection as a direct credit card payment.

*For those who do not have, do not want or cannot get a credit card, then Paypal does offer an alternative payment method for flights worldwide.

*In the US, Paypal also offers Paypal Credit (formerly BillMeLater) which allows users to defer payment for 6 months. A limited amount of airlines let you pay with Paypal Credit.

Most of the major airlines in the US and Europe are now taking Paypal payments. Use of Paypal by Middle-Eastern and Asian airlines has been slowly growing. Major travel agents/flight websites such as Cheapoair and Hotwire can also accept Paypal for flight bookings.

In Oceania we note the recent additions of Air Niugini and Qantas but the continued absence of Air New Zealand. Note that Australian travel agents Webjet , Jetabroad and Flight Centre have long accepted Paypal for domestic and international flight bookings.

Paypal Airlines List Progression (2008-2020)

When we undertook the first survey in 2008 there were only 9 airlines that accepted Paypal!

airtravelgenius paypal airlines 2008

For historical reference these were: Air Asia X, Air Tran, Delta Airlines, Jet Blue, Midwest, Monarch Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest and US Airways.

Interestingly only 4 of the original 9 airlines remain operational, as a result of past bankruptcies and takeovers.

The Paypal airlines list has grown from 9 airlines (2008), 14 airlines (2009), 15 airlines (2010), 23 airlines (2011-2013), 34 airlines (2014), 42 airlines (2015), 45 airlines (2016), 54 airlines (2017), 59 airlines (2018), 73 airlines (2019) to 77 airlines (2020).

Paypal was actually first introduced as a payment format for airline flights back in 2007. The very first airline to accept Paypal was Northwest Airlines in June 2007 shortly followed by Southwest Airlines a few days later. Monarch Airlines became the first airline in Europe to accept Paypal in October 2007.

Here are the dates of the 12 airlines which first started accepting Paypal in 2007 and 2008 :

1. Northwest Airlines – 28 June 2007 2. Southwest Airlines – 9 July 2007 3. Midwest Airlines – 2 September 2007 4. US Airways – 16 October 2007 5. Monarch Airlines – 23 October 2007 6. Air Tran – 5 November 2007 7. JetBlue – 4 April 2008 8. Delta Airlines – 28 May 2008 9. Air Asia X – 10 June 2008 10. Continental Airlines – 1 September 2008 11. American Airlines – 13 November 2008 12. Jet2 – 15 December 2008

To this day Paypal remains an important payment processor and the current list should slowly expand further. We are also seeing new forms of payment such as Bitcoin (and other crypto-currencies) hitting the mainstream. In July 2014 AirBaltic became the first airline to announce it would accept Bitcoin on its website.

The main Paypal Airlines List is always a fluid work in progress, so if you know of any other airline that we may have missed out please drop us a line !

Many thanks to readers Joachim (March 2017 and April 2018), Filippo (June 2017), Rakesh (July 2017), Sinisa (February 2018), Michael (April 2019) and Robert (February 2020) for contributing to past updates.

16 Airlines That Let You Book Flights Now and Pay Later

Planning a trip but don't want to pay for it all at once? These sites offer book-now, pay-later flights.

Orbon Alija/Getty Images

If you think a vacation is out of your reach, think again. Some airlines and online travel agencies have services that allow you to book a trip now and pay for it over time.

Affirm, PayPal, Uplift, and Klarna are among the book-now, pay-later services travel companies and airlines offer. Here, we break down the basics of these and airlines' own "BNPL" options so you can secure flights when the prices are lowest, even if you don't want to pay for them in full upfront.

Airlines Offering Book-now, Pay-later Flights

AeroMexico connects major U.S. cities to Latin American destinations like Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. The airline partners with Uplift to provide a monthly payment option. When you go to book a flight, you'll see an option to pay in monthly installments. Click through and you'll be asked for any personal information Uplift needs to process the loan.

You can also pay in installments through Klarna. Download the Klarna extension for Chrome or the app and you should see a pink "K" icon that will show you financing options. AeroMexico takes PayPal, which means you can use PayPal Credit to split up payments if you're approved.

Pay monthly for Air Canada flights and Air Canada Vacations packages with Uplift or PayPal Credit.

Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines partners with Uplift and Klarna to offer financing for flights.

Allegiant also uses Uplift and Klarna to provide payment plans. Select the Allegiant Pay option at checkout to choose financing through Uplift.

American Airlines

American Airlines offers several ways to buy now and pay later, including Klarna; PayPal Credit; Citi Flex Pay for select Citi cardholders; and Affirm, which has biweekly, monthly, and interest-free options but doesn't cover the cost of any flight extras, like luggage. American Airlines Vacations also gives you the option to pay monthly with Uplift.

Azul Airlines is a low-cost Brazilian airline that accepts payments through Uplift and PayPal.

Delta Air Lines

Delta offers PayPal Credit as a payment option, and you can pay using Affirm if you book your trip through Delta Vacations , a service for SkyMiles members that bundles flights, hotels, transportation, and activities.

One of the United Arab Emirates' two flag carriers, this airline partners with financing institutions Uplift and Klarna. You can also pay with PayPal Credit.

Frontier Airlines

Budget carrier Frontier Airlines lets you pay monthly installments through Uplift on purchases of $49 or more. If eligible, you will see the option at checkout. Frontier is also a Klarna retail partner.

KLM offers customers the option of holding a fare for 72 hours for a non-refundable fee. This is great if you find a fare that you want to book but need a few days to think about it. In addition, the airline takes PayPal Credit. This service is shown on the payment page as a "Bill Me Later" option, but directs you to your PayPal wallet.

Lufthansa has a list of payment methods on its website . Some monthly payment options are available specifically for residents of Brazil and Colombia. U.S. residents may pay monthly through PayPal Credit.

Porter Airlines

Porter , a Canadian airline, allows customers to use Uplift and PayPal to purchase flights across the U.S. and Canada.

Qatar Airways

Unless you're flying from Brazil, Brunei, or Kazakhstan, you can hold any Qatar Airways booking for up to 72 hours. How long prospective travelers can hold their Qatar flights depends on where they intend to fly to and from. The "Hold My Booking" option, available on the payment page, requires a non-refundable fee that doesn't go toward the price of your ticket. In most cases, you can also use PayPal Credit.

Southwest Airlines uses Uplift to break the cost of the flight up into fixed monthly payments. It also accepts PayPal Credit and Klarna.

Sunwing connects Canadian cities with destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. You can pay for plane tickets in monthly installments through Uplift.

United Airlines

Use Uplift, PayPal Credit, or Klarna to pay for United Airlines flights in monthly installments. The company also has a program called FareLock that allows you to pay a fee to hold a fare for three, seven, or 14 days before paying for it in full. If you decide not to buy the ticket, you forfeit the fee. This service is offered only on itineraries wholly operated by United Airlines and/or United Express.

Online Travel Agencies Offering Monthly Payment Options

Alternative airlines.

Any ticket booked through Alternative Airlines can be paid for in weekly, biweekly, or monthly installments with Uplift. The online travel agency markets itineraries by more than 600 airlines, and Uplift financing can be used for all of them. You can also split payments through Klarna.

CheapOair.com

CheapOair uses Affirm to offer customers a monthly payment option.

Funjet Vacations

Funjet Vacations uses Uplift to offer monthly payments for its flights and vacation packages.

Priceline uses Affirm to handle monthly payments. Select the "monthly payments" option on the secure billing step of the booking process and choose from three-, six-, or 12-month options. Alternatively, break it up into four payments over six weeks using Klarna.

How Buy-now, Pay-later Services Work

Airlines and travel agencies partner with BNPL services like the travel-specific Uplift or the more broadly available Affirm to offer monthly payment options. Some take payments through PayPal Credit and/or Klarna. Learn about the differences between these services and how they work.

Affirm allows customers to pay monthly or every two weeks. Terms can last up to 48 months for the largest loans, but more typically, they last up to a year. Interest rates vary by person, ranging from 0% to 36% APR, and are determined at the time of sign-up. A down payment and credit check might be required when you apply for a loan.

To use Affirm, you will need a phone number to use as an account login. The service is available only in the U.S. and Canada. Once you've created your account and gotten approved for a loan amount, you can set up auto-pay or pay each month via the app or website. You can find a full list of Affirm's travel partners, including airlines and accommodations, on its website .

PayPal Credit

This is a monthly payment option provided by travel companies that take PayPal. Typically, you'll choose PayPal as your payment method, and once you sign into your PayPal account, you can choose PayPal Credit . As of 2023, the variable purchase APR is about 28% for new accounts, but you can avoid paying interest altogether if you pay the loan off within six months. Loan applications are subject to credit approval.

Uplift is the leading pay-over-time financing service in the travel space, partnering with cruise lines, hotel chains, airlines, and more. Once you have selected a product, like your flight, you are shown a per-month rate based on the price of the items in your shopping cart. When you get to the payment page and choose monthly payment as your option, you will be asked for some personal details, and once you click "check rate," you will be told whether you've been approved. Uplift offers an APR of 0% to 36% based on your credit. You won't be penalized for paying late or early, and you can set up autopay so the money comes out of your account automatically.

Klarna breaks up the price of your ticket into monthly payments or four equal payments to be made two weeks apart. Add the Klarna extension to your Chrome browser or download the app on your phone, then book your flight as usual, selecting Klarna at checkout. The first payment will be due upfront. Klarna offers an APR of 0% to about 30%.

If you’re trying to figure out if it is possible to book hotel with PayPal , you’ve come to the right place! If you are a frequent traveler like me, paying for a hotel room can be tricky as your financial information can be leaked. This is why I find PayPal to be the safest payment method.

Keep reading to learn about hotel booking using PayPal and the 10 websites that accept this payment method. Let’s get right into it!

Book a Hotel With PayPal

Can You Book a Hotel With PayPal? Facts Spilled!

Let me share an interesting fact with you. Most hotels won’t take PayPal outright. But, there are ways to use the payment method that I am going to share with you. Let’s check them out:

1. PayPal Debit Card

By utilizing your PayPal balance, you may make purchases via the PayPal debit card. This particular debit card bears the MasterCard logo. The card is therefore usable anywhere MasterCard is accepted. Several hotels like Hyatt and IHG Hotels accepts master card.

2. PayPal Cashback

The problem is that while a few places take debit cards, hotels usually prefer credit cards. So, having the PayPal Cashback credit card can give you more options. You get 3% cash back when you use it with PayPal and 2% cash back for other purchases. This way, you have more flexibility when booking hotels.

3. Online Booking

The vast amounts of online booking websites is a treat for me. There are so many options to choose from and luckily, the best ones all accept PayPal.

Keep reading as I list the 10 best sites for hotel bookings in the next section.

List of Hotel Booking Websites Which Accept Paypal

The ease and safety of using PayPal have made it the preferred payment method for many online buyers, including me, in this age of digital transactions. Thus the wider and growing acceptability of PayPal as a payment option when using hotel booking sites is a major plus point in my eyes.

If a hotel website or hotel accepts PayPal, I’m more likely to get a hotel reservation there. Let’s check some of my favorite sites for making a reservation via Paypal:

1. Booking.com

Booking.com is a great option for travelers looking for a broad variety of lodging options due to its global reach and a huge database of properties. PayPal is accepted for hotel bookings on this site, making it a safe and trusted choice for all customers.

What I like most about it is its easy-to-use layout and straightforward search options. Also, I am a fan of their review section which gives a true picture of a considerate hotel.

Booking.com

Expedia is one of my favorite websites, as it’s not only well-known for its extensive travel options but also for hotel reservations, flights, and vehicle rentals. When used as a payment option, the PayPal tab gives you peace of mind via fraud protection. I find Expedia’s advanced filtering options convenient for selecting the ideal lodging for my trip, while the site’s regular sales and special offers keep costs down.

Expedia

Agoda is a Singapore-based travel service that is well-known for its extensive range of hotels and vacation rentals around Asia. Back in 2022 when I was traveling in Malaysia, I found they accepted all kinds of payment methods like a PayPal pre-pay online, a credit or debit card, and even transfers from bank accounts.

The site is popular among tourists because of its low prices and straightforward interface. The thing that I like most about Agoda is its loyalty program which gives discounts and even free hotel stays to repeat clients.

Agoda

4. Hotels.com

Hotels.com , the most popular website for reserving lodgings online, has a wide variety of hotels located all over the world. PayPal is accepted at Hotels.com, so I know my financial information is completely safe.

I find the website’s user interface is also quite straightforward and simple to use, and it makes navigation and booking a joy. One of the perks of their one-of-a-kind loyalty program is a free night’s stay for every ten paid nights.

Hotels.com

Airbnb is unlike other hotel reservation websites since it allows guests to stay in anything from a whole house to a single room. The website allows for payments to be made using PayPal, again providing an extremely secure way of payment.

Their star rating and review system really helps me out a lot in making the best choice for myself when booking a place to stay.

Airbnb

6. Hostelworld

Sometimes, when I find myself having to travel on a much smaller budget, I pick Hostelworld . Tailored for the budget-conscious traveler, Hostelworld specializes in advertising economical lodgings, particularly hostels. Booking is simple and safe because of their use of PayPal.

A thing I enjoy about Hostelworld is that navigating the site is very simple and convenient, and it allows you to narrow your hotel search based on a variety of criteria. Plus, reviews and ratings left by previous visitors are always helpful in picking the best accommodation.

Hostelworld

7. Priceline

I love Priceline ‘s ‘Name Your Own Price’ feature and ‘Express Deals’. These features make it possible to get great discounts on lodging. Users may feel safe making purchases thanks to PayPal’s acceptance.

The platform’s advanced search options make it simple for me to choose a room that suits my every need and want. Priceline also offers vacation packages that include airfare, hotel stays, and vehicle rentals so that customers may save even more money on their vacations.

Priceline

8. Travelocity

Travelocity is a full-service travel agency that helps customers reserve everything from plane tickets to hotel rooms . Having PayPal as a payment option is a huge plus for travelers like me.

I found the website’s many filtering options extremely helpful for discovering lodgings and hotels that suit specific needs and requirements. Another big plus, they regularly provide special packages that allow me to get cheaper travel alternatives.

Travelocity

9. Lastminute.com

Lastminute.com is a website dedicated to helping people find cheap hotel rooms at the last minute. They accept PayPal amongst their many other payment methods, which makes making a reservation online safe and simple.

This site is my go-to for late-planned vacationers since it provides a large range of lodging options all around the globe at competitive prices. I also like that their customer review system is quite dependable. It really helps consumers like myself by providing the required information to make a good decision.

Lastminute.com

10. Hotwire

Hotwire provides substantial savings on hotel rooms, including discounted last-minute offers on high-end hotels. PayPal is accepted, which is a safe and dependable payment method. It also accepts Mastercard.

Their distinctive ‘Hot Rate Hotels’ feature delivers large savings but discloses the hotel’s name only after booking, which oftentimes gave me quite a surprise, but it was always a fun experience. I also liked that because of the variety of rooms available, this website is suitable for both cheap and expensive vacationers.

5 Handy Tips On How to Choose The Best Hotel

I know how difficult it is to make sense of the huge variety of hotels to choose from when researching and reserving a stay online. I might prefer a hotel that has plenty of free perks, another traveler may place more importance on if a hotel offers exclusive deals, and a third might only make a booking if hotels accept debit cards.

5 Handy Tips On How to Choose The Best Hotel

So to help you out, here are some factors that I take into account when booking a hotel. It always helps me in making the best choice and I’m sure it’s going to be of great help to you too:

  • Reason for travel: The reason for which I’m traveling always impacts the type of room or hotel I choose. If I am on a business trip , I prefer a hotel that offers laundry or ironing services, whereas if I’m on a simple vacation I prefer a hotel that has amenities like a spa.
  • Using a star rating system: Star ratings left by other users are a huge help in making a decision. I always look to choose an accommodation with one of the highest ratings.
  • The placement of the hotel: It’s extremely important to me that the hotel I stay at is at a good location in relation to other points of interest. Meaning that I don’t have to commute for a longer period than necessary when visiting important landmarks.
  • The option to use PayPal as a payment method: This is of course another feature I look to have in a hotel while making a reservation. Paying with PayPal is very straightforward, plus it also gives me the peace of mind that all my financial information is secure.
  • Hotel amenities: It’s always a big plus for me if a hotel offers amenities such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, and a minibar free of cost. It’s always easy for me to rack up expenses on these items very quickly so amenities on the house always help me save a lot of money.

The Experience of Making a Hotel Reservation Using PayPal

I have always found using PayPal to make online hotel bookings a real breeze. Sure, some hotels still do not directly accept PayPal but they are starting to adopt it and the use of PayPal as a payment method is only growing. I also spoke to some fellow traveler about their experience with PayPal booking. Here’s what they said:

  • Kate stated that she and other tourists have been overcharged on certain occasions when making bookings through credit/debit cards. With PayPal, this was never an issue for her as PayPal stopped the hotels from demanding more money. Plus, she was also able to pay in the local currency in other countries using a PayPal account.
  • Jill told me that PayPal was useful because she mostly made reservations online through travel websites, so her financial information stayed secure thanks to PayPal. Plus, she also linked her American Express credit card to her PayPal account. This allowed her to use her Amex card through PayPal at vendors that did not accept Amex.
  • Alan stated that he found using PayPal for hotel bookings easier and faster than using a credit card. However, he noted that most hotels still might require a card for payment of incidentals. In this case, he recommended using the PayPal Mastercard.

Can you pay for a hotel on booking.com with PayPal?

Yes, you can pay for a hotel on booking.com with your PayPal account.

What hotel sites allow PayPal?

Hotel sites that allow Paypal include booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, Airbnb, and Hotels.com amongst more that are mentioned above.

Can I use PayPal to pay for incidentals at a hotel?

Yes, you can use PayPal to pay for incidentals at a hotel by utilizing the PayPal Cashback Mastercard. It works similarly to a credit card and can be used for purchases of more than $99, in this case, for incidentals.

Is it safe to use PayPal to book a hotel?

It is safe to use PayPal to book a hotel. In fact, PayPal is the safest way to pay as your financial information stays completely hidden from the vendor you are paying to.

Summing up, to book hotel with Paypal is one of the safest and most convenient options. Some hotels do not accept PayPal as a viable payment procedure and in that case, you can use a PayPal Mastercard to make the payment. It works just like a credit card and is accepted at any location that accepts MasterCard. Many users online have reported their satisfaction with using PayPal for hotel reservations.

The second option is using hotel booking websites that accept PayPal to book your stay. In addition to the safety of using PayPal, these sites also offer plenty of great deals and filters so that choosing the best hotel for you is simple and easy. Most of the best sites take PayPal, such as Expedia, Booking.com, Agoda, etc.

With PayPal Credit, you can finance your flights and pay for them over time, making it a convenient choice for travelers.

PayPal Credit, formerly known as Bill Me Later, is a digital credit line offered by PayPal that allows users to make purchases and pay for them later. This payment option offers greater flexibility and convenience compared to traditional credit cards or debit cards.

Whether you are planning a vacation, a business trip, or even a last-minute getaway, PayPal Credit can be a valuable tool to help you secure your flights without having to pay the full amount upfront. It allows you to spread the cost of your airfare over several months, making it easier to manage your budget.

In addition to the flexibility it provides, PayPal Credit offers various benefits for travelers. Firstly, it offers promotional financing options, such as interest-free periods or discounted rates, depending on the terms and promotions in effect at the time of purchase. This can be especially advantageous when booking expensive flights or planning a trip on a tight budget.

Secondly, using PayPal Credit for flight bookings is a secure payment option. PayPal has robust security measures in place to protect your financial information, providing an added layer of peace of mind when making online payments.

Lastly, PayPal Credit offers a simplified and streamlined checkout process. Once you have set up your PayPal Credit account, you can link it to your favorite airline booking websites, making it quick and hassle-free to select your flights and complete your purchase.

In the next sections, we will explore the list of airlines that accept PayPal Credit, allowing you to find the best options for your travel plans and take advantage of the convenience and benefits this payment method offers.

PayPal Credit is a digital credit line that allows users to make online purchases and pay for them over time. It is a convenient and flexible payment option, especially for travelers looking to book flights without having to pay the full amount upfront.

Formerly known as Bill Me Later, PayPal Credit offers a range of benefits to its users. Here’s an overview of how PayPal Credit works and what sets it apart:

  • Flexible Financing: PayPal Credit provides users with the ability to finance their purchases and pay them off in installments over time. This can be particularly helpful when booking flights, as it allows you to spread the cost over several months rather than paying the full amount upfront.
  • Promotional Financing Options: One of the key advantages of PayPal Credit is the availability of promotional financing options. Depending on the terms and promotions in effect at the time of purchase, PayPal Credit may offer interest-free periods or discounted rates for certain purchases. This can be especially beneficial when booking expensive flights or planning a trip on a budget.
  • Secure Transactions: PayPal Credit ensures the security of your financial information when making online payments. As a trusted payment service provider, PayPal has industry-leading security measures in place to protect your data. This gives you peace of mind when using PayPal Credit for flight bookings.
  • Streamlined Checkout Process: Once you have set up your PayPal Credit account, the checkout process for flight bookings becomes seamless. You can simply select PayPal Credit as your payment method, verify the purchase details, and complete the transaction. This eliminates the need to enter credit card information or deal with other payment gateways, saving you time and effort.

It’s important to note that PayPal Credit functions differently from a traditional credit card. While a credit card typically has a predetermined credit limit, PayPal Credit offers a credit line specifically for online purchases. The credit line is based on various factors, including your creditworthiness, income, and other financial considerations.

It’s always a good idea to review the terms and conditions of PayPal Credit, such as interest rates and fees, before using it for flight bookings. This will help you understand the costs associated with using this payment method and make informed decisions about your travel expenses.

Using PayPal Credit for flight bookings offers several advantages that make it a preferred payment method for many travelers. Let’s explore the benefits of using PayPal Credit when purchasing your airline tickets:

  • Flexible Payment Options: One of the primary benefits of PayPal Credit is its flexibility. Rather than paying the full cost of your flights upfront, PayPal Credit allows you to spread the payments over time. This can be particularly helpful if you need to manage your budget or prefer to pay for your travel expenses in installments.
  • Interest-Free Promotions: PayPal Credit frequently offers promotional financing options, such as interest-free periods or reduced interest rates. For eligible purchases, this means you can enjoy the convenience of monthly payments without incurring additional costs. Keep an eye out for these promotions when booking your flights to save money and make your travel plans more affordable.
  • Convenience and Efficiency: With PayPal Credit, the flight booking process becomes quick and efficient. Once you have set up your PayPal Credit account, you can link it to your favorite airline booking websites or use it on travel aggregation platforms. This eliminates the need to enter your credit card details repeatedly and speeds up the checkout process, allowing you to confirm your flights swiftly and easily.
  • Secure Transactions: PayPal Credit provides a secure payment option for your flight bookings. PayPal employs industry-leading security measures to safeguard your financial information. This includes encryption technologies and monitoring systems that help detect and prevent fraudulent activities. When you use PayPal Credit, you can have peace of mind knowing that your payment details are protected.
  • Purchase Protection: Another advantage of using PayPal Credit is the added layer of buyer protection it offers. PayPal has a robust dispute resolution process that helps resolve any issues with your flight bookings. If there are problems with the itinerary or if the airline fails to deliver the services as promised, you can initiate a dispute and seek a resolution through PayPal’s buyer protection program.

Overall, the benefits of using PayPal Credit for flight bookings include flexibility in payment options, potential cost savings through promotional financing, a streamlined checkout process, secure transactions, and purchase protection. These advantages make PayPal Credit a popular choice for travelers who want a convenient and secure payment method for their airfare.

What is a ‘buy now, pay later’ loan?

How do expedia payment plans work, downsides of using an expedia payment plan, should you book travel using an expedia payment plan, expedia payment plans recapped.

There’s no doubt that travel can be expensive. Between flights, hotels, rental cars and more, booking and paying for a trip all at once can seem daunting if you haven’t saved for it. That’s why payment plans — the option to pay in installments over time instead of all at once — can be so enticing. Are they a good idea?

Online travel agencies like Expedia are popular services for travelers. But does Expedia let you buy now and pay later? It does.

Here, we break down what Expedia payment plans are and what’s important to know before you sign up for one on this third-party site.

Buy now, pay later (BNPL) services are offered by many travel brands and companies these days as booking payment plan vacations becomes more common. They are payment options that offer travelers a way to book travel now, but pay for it over a specified period of time in regular installments.

It’s similar to a credit card, but these loans may have lower interest rates and they typically offer automatic deductions from your debit card or bank account.

There are several companies that offer these sorts of loans across the web, but Expedia partners with Affirm to offer the service to their customers.

Expedia makes it easy to book your travel and pay using a trip payment plan. All you have to do is select the flights, accommodations, car rentals or even cruises that you’d like to book, then select “Monthly Payments” during the checkout process.

You’ll be prompted to log in to Affirm or create an account if you haven’t already. On-screen prompts will then lead you through the process, which includes a soft credit check to make sure you’re eligible for what is essentially a loan. This check won’t affect your credit score.

You’ll then see a list of payment options if you’re approved. In our search for a flight and rental car for a week-long trip to San Francisco that costs $809.47, we had the option to pay in three-, six- or 12-month installments. The monthly payment, interest amount, APR rate and total cost is displayed for each option so you know how much extra you’ll be paying on top of the base price of your travel.

Select an option that suits you, then choose whether to have automatic payments deducted from your account via a debit card or bank account. You’ll then complete checkout and pay over time, starting with your first payment the following month.

» Learn more : How to book travel on Expedia

Expedia makes it easy to book travel now and pay for it later, but it’s not necessarily a good idea for everyone.

There’s the loan’s interest to deal with, which you wouldn’t have to pay if you pay for your travel in full, assuming you pay your credit card balance and avoid interest charges. On the upside, Affirm states in their terms and conditions that they don’t charge late payment fees or penalty fees if your payment is returned or doesn’t go through (say, from lack of funds in your bank account). You won’t likely get the same treatment from your bank.

That said, if you are more than 120 days late on a payment, Affirm may send you to collections, which may impact your credit score.

If you or the airline have to cancel or postpone your travel plans, refunds can get tricky. Expedia will refund the base cost of your travel, but you will still be on the hook for any interest that has already accrued.

» Learn more : What factors affect your credit scores?

Does Expedia do payment plans? Yes — but that doesn’t mean it’s a good option for everyone or every situation.

For starters, depending on the interest rate of the credit cards you already have, you may be paying as much, or more, interest with Affirm. Even if Affirm offers a slightly lower rate, it’s likely not worth the headaches of having to deal with multiple entities (airlines, Expedia and Affirm) if your travel plans change or are canceled.

There are times when using an Expedia payment plan could come in handy, of course. For example, if you’re unable to pay for a last-minute ticket in full, and your available credit cards have much higher interest rates than Affirm, a payment plan might save you money.

But if you’re a points and miles collector, the biggest downside is that you won’t be earning any additional benefits like you do when paying with a travel rewards credit card. That means you’re potentially leaving hundreds or thousands of points and miles on the table that could eventually go toward award flights or hotel stays.

There is also the option of no- and low-APR rewards cards available .

» Learn more: How travel credit cards work

When booking travel on Expedia, the available payment plans offered through Affirm may sound like an enticing option. The BNPL service may be smart way to break up a purchase, especially if you get a low-interest offer and know you can make your payments on time.

On the other hand, refunds and cancellations can be complicated if travel plans change, and you won’t earn points and miles like you would when paying with a travel rewards credit card.

So before you utilize the service, read the fine print, weigh your options and choose wisely.

How To Use PayPal And Venmo With iPhone Tap To Pay

T he way many businesses take payment from customers has changed dramatically over the past few years. In the past, businesses could choose to accept cash, or would have to install a specialized payment terminal to receive credit card payments. Today, there are many more options. Businesses are increasingly able to use payment terminal apps on a smartphone or tablet to collect payment for their services. There are a number of digital payment services businesses use, but two of the biggest are PayPal and its subsidiary app Venmo. Both are designed to make the transfer and collection of payments rather simple, and they have been instrumental in expanding how money moves around the internet and the real world.

One way these technologies have expanded is through contactless tap to pay, which allows businesses to collect payments using digital wallet technology such as Apple Pay  that are built into our phones and tablets. Here's how to collect wireless payments using tap to pay for your business.

How To Set Up Tap To Pay With Venmo On iPhone

Using the tap to pay feature for Venmo on an iPhone is a quite simple process. This is going to be covered in two different steps. The first will be to enable the tap to pay feature for your business, and the second will be how to use it when a customer needs to pay for your goods or services.

Here's how you set up tap to pay:

  • Download the Venmo app.
  • Sign into your business profile.
  • Select the Charge option on the main app screen.
  • Select the Tap to Pay on iPhone button.
  • Read through the information and select Set up Tap to Pay.
  • It's important to note that all businesses must complete "identity verification" with Venmo before they can use tap to pay. If you have not provided all necessary information — such as a SSN, ITIN, or any other documents — you will need to do so at this step.
  • Verify your address for receipts and tap Confirm (or hit Skip if you want to add an address to your business profile later).
  • Review the terms and conditions and connect your Apple ID.
  • Create a security passcode.

Once you're finished, you are ready to accept contactless payments with your iPhone with no additional hardware. If you have several different iPhones for payment collection, you will need to repeat the process with each iPhone. And don't forget to check your privacy settings on Venmo too .

How To Use Tap To Pay With Venmo On iPhone

Thankfully, using the Venmo app to charge your customers requires a bit less work than actually setting it all up. After all, you want to be able to service as many customers efficiently as your business can handle. Here's how to accept a contactless payment from your customer's card or digital wallet device with Venmo's tap to pay feature:

  • Open the Venmo app.
  • Select the Charge button.
  • Click the $0 text box and add in the price you are charging.
  • Select the "Add tax" button to set up your needed tax rate.
  • Type in a note for what good or service this charge is for.
  • Select the Tap to Pay button.
  • Present your iPhone to the customer, who will then present their contactless card or digital wallet device. Card users will need to tap their card horizontally on the tap area, while digital wallet devices can be held slightly above it. Occasionally, you will have to allow a customer to enter a PIN number if required.
  • Wait for the "Done" confirmation and type in your customer's e-mail address for a receipt, if they want one.

That may seem like a lot of steps, but unless you are in a business scanning barcodes to calculate the price, this is a pretty standard method of collecting payment. You are just doing it on an iPhone rather than a manual cash register.

How To Set Up Tap To Pay With PayPal On iPhone

PayPal may be a favorite for freelancers to receive payments from employers , but it is also a good option for merchants using it in a retail atmosphere for collecting customer payments. Thankfully, PayPal's tap to pay system, which is called Zettle, is very similar to the one Venmo uses. However, while Venmo uses its normal app for this feature, the standard PayPal app is not the one you will be using for this contactless payment. So, let's go through just how you are able to use tap to pay with PayPal:

  • Download the PayPal Zettle app on your iPhone, which is PayPal's designated point of sale app.
  • Select the Sign Up option.
  • Enter in all of your business details.
  • Read through and accept the terms and conditions.

If you wish, you can also register for an account on zettle.com. PayPal Zettle will ask you for details that relate to verifying your identity, address, and proof of business. Once these things have been verified, you will be able to start taking payments with your PayPal Zettle app, including tap to pay on an iPhone.

After you have created your PayPal Zettle account, you can add the products you are selling so you don't have to manually add products and remember prices for each customer. You can also set your sales tax rate, which is probably the first thing you should do.

How To Use Tap To Pay With PayPal On iPhone

Once you've set PayPal Zettle up, accepting payments through tap to pay is remarkably similar to Venmo. For the very first time you use Tap to Pay on your iPhone, here are the steps you need to follow.

  • Open the PayPal Zettle app.
  • Add the products being sold for check out.
  • Accept the terms and conditions for Apple to enable Tap to Pay.
  • Connect your account with your Apple ID.

After you have enabled Tap to Pay with PayPal Zettle, then the process becomes incredibly smooth, particularly if you have pre-added all of your products to your product library and set your sales tax settings. Here's what you need to do to use Tap to Pay with a customer:

  • Select Tap to Pay.
  • Present your iPhone to the customer for their card, which they must tap horizontally, or digital wallet.
  • Wait for the "Approved" checkmark, and the sale is good.

Unlike Venmo, PayPal Zettle tap to pay does not currently accept cards that require a PIN number for use. In those situations, you will need to request another form of payment from the customer.
