BELUMCAVES:

Belum Caves, an eco-tourism project is situated 110kms from Kurnool and is the second largest natural cave with cave length of 2.5km in the Indian subcontinent discovered in the early 1980’s. Inside were spectacular chambers, stalagmite & stalactites passages, and fresh water galleries and siphons. The caves are illuminated by A.P.Tourism. They have been adjudged as a “Unique Eco-Tourism Project” by the Government of India. As one walks through the caves, it is a breath taking experience.  A unique 40 feet height Dyanamudra Buddha Idol sat over a lotus appears.

Dipankar Guha 49 months ago This is the worst AP Tourism hotel I have come across. It is not only unsafe for families and women/children, it also lacks basic facilities. Please avoid this hotel completely. There is no power backup, power cuts are frequent, the property lacks a proper gate. There are 4 rooms - two doesn't even have proper doors or locking facility. The staff are unfriendly. One of them asked me to give Rs. 10 to get a photocopy of my adhaar card for ID proof! There is no food available other than egg fried rice and egg curry. The parking is in a field. The property has a dirty toilet after the reception. It is so unprotected and unsafe that hardly anyone stays there. This is perhaps the only exception that I have seen in APTDC Hotels as other properties do not have any safety issues. I would urge the concerned authorities to immediately close this hotel to avoid harrasment to tourists. Please avoid this property till they really make it worth living.
