Your private guide will meet and greet you at the arrival hall of the airport or at the train station's exit. A comfortable private car (non-smoking) with an experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel, where your guide will help you to check-in.

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and drive to the historic Tian'anmen Square . After going through the middle gate of the Tian'anmen Rostrum, start to enjoy the highlight of the day, the Forbidden City.

Besides admiring the splendid palaces on the central axis, your guide will take you off the touristy route to explore some spots that are related to some famous figures from the two dynasties. The stories about them will make the Forbidden City come alive for you.

After lunch, go to the old hutong area with your guide. A visit to a local family offers a local perspective on the area's history and is a highlight for most visitors.

Enjoy an authentic Beijing roast duck dinner in a time-honored brand restaurant

Visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning. The Circular Mound Altar, Echo Wall, and the spectacular Imperial Vault of Heaven are the highlights. Additionally, your private guide will show you an area in the park where the local people do their morning exercises, such as tai chi or dancing.

In the afternoon, you'll hike the Great Wall at Mutianyu . This section is ranked top among all parts of the Great Wall on TripAdvisor due to its picturesque scenery and beautifully restored architecture.

On the wall, you can hike along "the most beautiful and interesting part of the Great Wall", which is between the 14th and 23rd watchtowers .

Drive to the famous imperial garden in China, the Summer Palace . It is where the emperors used to retreat when fleeing the summer heat.

You will have a chance to view all of the beautiful palaces at the lakeside during a boat ride on Kunming Lake.

The tour was wonderful. The tour guides were very informative and gave lots of recommendations. I went during their down season in December, best decision every. There was not a lot of people at the most popular tourist locations. I recommend coming during the winter.

The tour was very well organized and the tour guides (Kevin in Beijing and Lily in Xian) were great. It was certainly very nice it was only the two of us with the guides, so everything could be on our pace. The sights we visited were partly very crowded, but with the small group and the great help of the guides, we were flexible and could enjoy everything very much. We also profited a lot from the great knowledge of Kevin and Lily, who are extremely knowledgeable and gave us very good explanations and answers to our questions.

I travelled with On the Go on the China Express tour and had an absolute blast! Normally I am the type of traveller to "go solo" and do my own thing and have my experiences that way. I must admit, I would never have seen half the things I would have compared to doing it with On the Go. Each day is brilliantly organised, you get to make friends with the people you travel with from all over the world, but there is not too many people that you feel like a sheep. China is the kind of country where have a local tour guide really enhances your whole holiday as well. Organising something as easy as a taxi yourself requires you to know Chinese, you cant just show them an address. You get to learn a lot more about the culture, history and see some really interesting places which are more local than what a guide book can tell you. I would highly recommend On the Go, my whole trip was flawless, the ground staff couldn't be more helpful and it was a great way to see one of the most interesting countries in the world without feeling overwhelmed.

Great itinerary and travel between all the destinations was well managed and pain free. The accommodation was a lower standard as this is a lower budget tour but all of the locations allowed for easy access to the local attractions. All of the hotels/hostels were clean and air conditioned, we were more interested in the sights anyway! Our guide was the best and balanced knowledge with ensuring the group had fun, she was happy to change plans and arrange alternatives if any or all of the group wished to do different things. A really great group of people added up to a fantastic, memorable trip that I would happily recommend to anyone wanting the 'Real China' trip.

All the tour guides were extremely friendly, well informed and very keen to fulfill all wishes. The hotels were clean and well maintained. The hotels were centrally located for exploring on your own. I felt very well looked after, learned a lot about China and can only recommend this trip.

11 Days China Natural Wonders Small Group

Would recommend to anyone looking to travel to China. TCT looked after us very well, collected from airports and stations without issues, helped us check in etc. The guides were excellent, and very helpful. The itinerary was well put together, fitted a lot in without being exhausting. Just a couple of hotels could have been better, would recommend to the company to use a different hotel in Beijing and Zgangjijie.

As a couple surprised by an fantastic individual tour by three very articulate guides and proficient drivers around Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. Learnt not only about history but culture and language today. Felt very safe even when venturing out alone around cities without guides. Our only issue was we could not get internet to connect but that is going to be more us being technophobic. However so supported by guides that not required.
