Ft Lauderdale is a city of islands held together by an intricate web of canals, rivers, bays and waterways hundreds of miles long. Needless to say, boating is a favorite city pastime, whether zooming along on a speedboat, enjoying a fishing charter, or cruising the coastline by yacht. Beautiful homes of every size and style make up the bulk of this primarily residential area. By the beach, a leisurly stroll can be taken along the new landscaping wavewall design of the beachfront promenade. But this city is anything but sedate. Once a spring break hot spot, the town still has an energetic and colorful nightlife. Nearby, charming Laudrdale-By-the-Sea is home to one of the only living coral reefs in the US accesible from shore. Las Olas Boulevard, a shoppers paradise, is the chic new shopping and trendy dining area of downtown. If sports are more your inclination, dozens of golf courses and hundreds of public parks allow you to absorb the great Florida outdoors. Cultural arts are also popular. Water taxis bring theater-goers from throughout the city to the Performing Arts Center on the water.

The tiny fishing village of Mahahual is located on Mexico's Southern Caribbean in the southern most part of the state of Quintana Roo. Known as the Mayan coast, in Spanish Costa Maya, the town of Mahahual is at the geographic center of the coast. The Costa Maya takes it's name from the many centuries over which the Mayan people have known of this fishing and diving paradise. Having slumbered for hundreds of years, the once sleepy fishing village of Mahahual, also spelled Majahual, no one knows which is correct, is now beginning to awaken to the attraction of eco-tourism. Located just south of the huge 1,500,000 acre Sian Ka'an wildlife preserve, Mahahual has recently been discovered by tourists from North America.

The Bay Islands of Honduras offer a very different world from that of mainland Honduras. Of the three islands, the largest, and most developed for tourism is Roatan. Roatan is a long island, measuring almost 40 miles in length and with a total landmass of 49 Square miles. The island has a mountainous backbone and is totally surrounded by coral reefs, offering superb diving as well as excellent fishing.

The beautiful island of Cozumel, the largest inhabited island in Mexico, is a paradise for divers from all over the world. The island is surrounded by more than 25 reef formations where divers of all ages and skills can enter into a completely fascinating and different world: endless coral inhabited by immense shoals of colorful fish. The possibilities are interminable for both beginners and experts. East of the Yucatán Peninsula, on top of the age-old structures of the Mayan coral reef, the second largest in the world, stands the Island of Cozumel, the largest inhabited island in Mexico. Its name, derived from the word Cuzamil, meaning “island of swallows” in Maya, conjures up memories of its pre-Hispanic origin, the conquest of America and the pirates and buccaneers that thronged its seas. The Island of Cozumel measures 48 km from north to south but only 16 from east to west. On either side of the island, beaches form a long, white sandy coast. Gentle waves and transparent waters wash the western side of the island, while huge waves crash against the eastern side. Its flora and fauna have a number of unusual features and include certain endemic species, such as the dwarf raccoon and the Cozumel wren. Cozumel’s greatest wealth, however, lies underwater.

People keep celebrating their birthdays at Costco. Here's how they're doing it.

A Tennessee woman racked up over 11 million views on her TikTok video, which showed her surprising her husband with a birthday party at Costco .

The video charts their trip from entering the store and bumping into friends to her husband realizing it's a surprise party. It ends with a birthday party in the food court: guests are gathered around a Costco birthday cake, and a clown is even shown making balloon animals.

The woman invited around 30 family and friends to her husband's surprise 27th birthday party on May 5 at Costco, she told People magazine .

"We love to be silly and so it was the perfect plan," she told the outlet. Adding that her husband is a big Costco fan: "If I'm out of town or having a girls' night, you know Clint is at Costco."

The party was hosted at the Fort Oglethorpe Costco warehouse in Ringgold, Georgia, a store worker confirmed to Business Insider.

The store worker told BI that Costco doesn't host birthday parties as a habit and doesn't make any exceptions from the typical store rules. Therefore, those on the guest list must be members of the store or come along as guests of members.

But this isn't the only Costco fan to throw a birthday party at the store; several other Costco birthday party TikToks have gone viral recently.

Scatter friends and family throughout the store as a surprise

Another viral TikTok , with over two million views, showed a Costco superfan being surprised with a birthday party at a Costco store organized by his wife.

The husband is seen bumping into his friends and relatives around the store in April, seemingly by coincidence.

He didn't clock the surprise until all the guests gathered in the food court singing happy birthday to him, his wife, @katscollections, wrote on text overlay on the TikTok.

His wife set up a Facebook group to invite his friends and relatives to the Kansas City Costco store, she explained in another TikTok.

Be careful about inviting non-members

One commenter expressed how lucky the couple was that all their guests were members.

"If friends and family didn't have a membership, they just met us in the food court, "@katscollections explained in a follow-up video .

However, Costco has started cracking down recently on non-members visiting the food court .

A storeworker at a Costco in Manhattan told BI they would prevent large groups from entering the store, and non-members wouldn't be able to use the food court — even for a birthday party.

It can be a cheap alternative for a birthday party

Last year, a TikToker went viral for her budget-friendly Costco birthday . Madison Stimmel's TikTok got 3.5 million views, explaining how she spent her birthday in-store and spent just $30.88 on her birthday dinner for seven people.

She and her family donned "Costco wholesale" hoodies , bought hot dog-and-soda combos , and even got a free birthday cake, per the TikTok video .

"Costco is definitely one of my happy places, and I love how my birthday brought so much joy to other people," Stimmel previously told BI.
