Short break

Short break, food and entertainment A1, but journey home a nightmare. I found 10 hour journey too much. One hour break at a garden centre where the food and drink prices outrageous.mad dash to reading arriving late being given just 15 minute break before starting off on transfer coach. Fell over in a mad rush.will think twice before considering another break as the journey home spoilt the experience.

A Great Experience

The whole experience from being picked up to being at our hotel was excellent. The hotel was nice but a bit dated but the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The excursions were really good and it was nice to see that part of the country from the comfort of a coach. Our driver was used to being in that area so was very informative on what we were seeing. A most enjoyable trip.

Andy the welsh driver was great Largs a good location

Andy the welsh driver was great. A friendly and good driver. Hotel was clean and tidy if not a little dated. Nice sized room and comfortable beds. Shower was horrendous, hot, cold, and not a stable water temperature. Food adequate. Not the fastest service but friendly and hard working staff. Island trip to cumbrae probably best to go as foot passengers as the coach struggled to get off and on the ferry. Largs is a good location. Long journey time for us travelling from welshpool area. More or less 12 hours to Largs. Feeder bus, we were first and last to drop off so tedious travelling via Aldridge, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Telford. We did enjoy our holiday and would book again with alfa.

Our recent holiday in Newquay

We enjoyed our recent holiday in Newquay. The weather could have been better and the wind whistling round the building works outside our window was incredible, but not Alfa's fault. A long journey with only one stop after Woodall, thankfully a toilet on the coach! Gloucester services a bit of a rip-off, but interesting. Unusually good food in the hotel. Trips were interesting, especially the Eden Project, not much to recommend Padstow in our opinion.

Just returned from 7 days in Shanklin…

Just returned from 7 days in Shanklin Hotel, what a wonderful holiday we’ve had. Shaun our driver was first class, very patient and very knowledgeable too. The hotel was amazing, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, our waitress Jessica was a delight. The chef came out to chat to each table, a lovely touch and his food was amazing especially the spaghetti with salmon flakes, delicious. The entertainment was really good, a good mix of song and comedy. The trips were good and all ran smoothly. All in all an excellent holiday, we’ll definitely go back to Shanklin and are already looking forward to our next holiday with Alfa.

Weymouth holiday

We enjoyed our holiday to Weymouth with Alfa . From the minute we got on the coach we were made welcome ! Alan our driver was very friendly , professional and a great laugh! No problems at the hotel .Will travel with Alfa again !

Great short break

Good hotel, comfortable coach, pleasant helpful driver. Excursions lovely. Only downside was very late pick up at the start of the holiday and lack of communication on the feeder coach.

This was the first time going with Alfa…

This was the first time going with Alfa and we enjoyed it very much, coach was comfy and clean our driver Shawn very helpful and informative .Our room at the Shanklin hotel was very good and clean, the staff was outstanding and couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely with a varied menu

The weather was superb

The weather was superb - cold but beautifully sunny. The area round Largs is fabulous. There was excellent public transport. The coach driver was good. The hotel was tired, but it was in a good position and the hotelier did his best to please.

Organised well

Organised well, feeder coach driver on way was unsure about collection points & timings were a bit out. Main Coach driver (Russell) was very professional and was helpful when I told him I had a visual Impairment.

The hotel and all the staff. The trips although Glasgow was rather tiring due to my mobility, perhaps 2 drop offs, one at the Motor Museum and the other at the Bus park.

Waymouth a great place to visit.

The company of fellow passengers and the location Royal Hotel, Weymouth. The majority of the waiting staff were amazing. However, I witness and experienced the assistant manager being very rude and very off hand with a number of people. The room especially the bathroom was not clean on my arrival and I cleaned the bathroom myself. I also found the driver very aggressive at times on the road and did not appreciate the hand signals he gave to other drivers which were visible to those of us sat at the front. I would love to return to Weymouth but would pick a different hotel.

I really enjoy my alfa holidays from…

I really enjoy my alfa holidays from the pick up to our journey home very well organised. We had Roy as our driver he was brilliant with information on our days out and a laugh. The only thing not happy with was the food at Blackpool either over cooked very small helpings

Kev is a top driver!

On our trip to Dunoon we had a brilliant driver (Kev) who drove very safely. He told us interesting facts about the places we visited and was always cheerful and entertaining. Our room in the hotel was cold. An extra radiator and a blanket solved the problem. We were on the top floor, hot water took a long time to arrive and was not usually available before 6.30 am. We really enjoyed our holiday and will be travelling with Alfa again.

Great holiday

Just back from our holiday in Newquay, we had a great time, hotel was nice and room was clean and bed comfortable, the meals were good, 10/10 to the chef, poached eggs were spot on every time. James our waiter in the restaurant was brilliant, very friendly and service was quick. Have to give a mention to Kevin our driver, who kept us informed of times for breaks on the long journey there and back, and gave helpful information on all our excursions, very friendly, approachable and funny, and even took the time to tell us about the other hotels and resorts that alfa provide, as we were wondering where to go next, we are booked for September and looking forwards to booking for next year, thank you alfa great holiday

The coach travel & driver were great the trips were great but the hotel was poor in that the evening meals were very poor no comparison with the Alfa hotel on the Isle of Wight we stayed in last year.

Hotel Performance

I enjoyed my holiday on the whole. The dining room staff were great. I was disappointed with one or two of the meals as the meat was tough and a couple of desserts were very stodgy. However, on the whole, the food was good. My bedroom was very clean as were all the public areas. There were plenty of comfortable chairs. The staff were always ready to help.

A family group of 6 senior citizens…

A family group of 6 senior citizens travelling to Cromer. Easy booking by telephone. Smooth coach journey via Burtonwood Interchange. Hotel de Paris is in a prime position opposite the pier, the rooms were warm with clean, comfortable beds and the food good. The assistant manager Yasmin was excellent and top marks go to our young waiter William! A pleasant holiday at an affordable price - we certainly feel we had value for money! A big thanks also to Dave (our driver) and Leah at customer care who managed to locate my husband’s glasses in lost property x

I booked with Alfa travel to go to Shanklin Hotel…

I booked with Alfa travel to go to Shanklin 3rd or 4th April on basis that excursions would include Alum Bay & the Needles, having seen the northern points (Osborne House included-FREE with Robinsons) of interest some 6 years ago with Robinsons staying at the Oceanview. When we got on the coach of our supposed Alum Bay, etc, trip on Thursday18th was the first indication I had of any problem regarding the excursion being cancelled. It appears from local newspaper articles that the road closures causing the non visit, were known about at the most recent, if not earlier, by 25th MARCH. Why then were clients NOT advised of this when booking ( My case being at start of April) ? Perhaps like me they would not have booked with Alfa, for trips to towns I'd seen or could visit on local service buses, previously. So having boarded the coach, the driver had what seemed the brass neck not to offer a better or equivalent trip to maybe Osborne House FREE, but to ask people to pay £10 for a 30 min trip around Cowes Harbour, prior to which we would visit Yarmouth. I for one declined. By coincidence, the boat's skipper just happened to be there to give us his blurb. Why were those going expected to pay the driver rather than the crew in Cowes ? Surely he wasn't working as an unpaid skivvy for the skipper ? In Cowes I noticed the jetty board showing this trip of 30 mins for £10 but on the adjoining board was a trip of 1 3/4 HOURS for the same price. Regarding the hotel: the Shanklin's rooms were clean & adequate. The waiter service was excellent by Charlotte, not so Kristina(?) who rollocked me for having the audacity to turn up at the breakfast table 5 mins early ! I think she needs to be learnt how to speak to PAYING guests in a pleasant manner, rather than a confrontational one . Yesterday she let someone have it both barrels for having the nerve to sit at the wrong table. They offered to move to placate her, but then she decided as they'd touched the cutlery etc, then it would be better to stay there! The only highlight from my trip was the opportunity to visit Pompey on the hovercraft to see the Victory, Warrior & Mary Rose exhibitions. Nothing memorable otherwise, just another forgettable experience!

Lovely Hotel

Nice hotel and good food which was always hot, quite an achievement when serving so many. Good friendly and informative coach driver. The evening entertainment was good especially the last night (Thursday 4th Apri) he was exceptional. Of course a half price bar also helped.

The room was of a good size

The room was of a good size, shower was hot, the food was fresh and very nice, choice of starter and main excellent. Cleaning staff do a good job 👍. We enjoyed the excursions on offer. Shaun the coach driver was very nice and friendly. The only thing that was an issue, the guest in the room next to us left his TV on loud until the early hours, on two occasions, however after going down stairs the night security returned to the guest room and turned his TV off, the following night same again, then the night porter knocked on his door and told him to turn down his TV. This did not put us off our holiday. The reception staff did all they could to resolve this matter. We look forward to visiting again

Dunoon 4 day holiday

Overall good holiday but few issues with driver and one person that was persistently late. Driver dropped us away from main shopping centre in Glasgow and we couldn’t walk that far. Driver seemed intent on keeping us out until just before dinner time so we had little time to get ready. Never asked if we wanted to get back to the hotel earlier.

Our easter break 2024 @ the Royal Hotel

The Royal Hotel is a very god hotel, the food very good bedrooms lay out and comfort excellent for our needs. The staff are first class always willing to help advice anytime, entertainment very good. the only set back in the lounge is if you sit near the windows to watch the entertainment you need an outside coat on as there is a gale blowing through the windows, these need seaing up or replacing sooner then latere

Great first experience

Wills was a great driver, funny, helpful and friendly. Eliot hotel was lovely, friendly staff, comfy room, good food, good entertainment every night, great prices for drinks, close to everything. Good excursions, but weather let us down so couldn't explore as much. Would definitely travel with Alfa again.

Great hotel, service and staff

The hotel was excellent. As was the service from the staff in all departments. Had a lovely room with a view of the Little Orme and the meals were very good with a good choice to select from. The excursions were great visiting some lovely places and travelling through picturesque scenery. Fabulous holiday and looking forward to next visit in August.

Organised well, feeder coach driver on way was unsure about collection points & timings were a bit out. Main Coach driver (Russell) was very professional and was helpful when I told him I had a visual Impairment.

Waymouth a great place to visit.

The company of fellow passengers and the location Royal Hotel, Weymouth. The majority of the waiting staff were amazing. However, I witness and experienced the assistant manager being very rude and very off hand with a number of people. The room especially the bathroom was not clean on my arrival and I cleaned the bathroom myself. I also found the driver very aggressive at times on the road and did not appreciate the hand signals he gave to other drivers which were visible to those of us sat at the front. I would love to return to Weymouth but would pick a different hotel.

I really enjoy my alfa holidays from the pick up to our journey home very well organised. We had Roy as our driver he was brilliant with information on our days out and a laugh. The only thing not happy with was the food at Blackpool either over cooked very small helpings

Kev is a top driver!

On our trip to Dunoon we had a brilliant driver (Kev) who drove very safely. He told us interesting facts about the places we visited and was always cheerful and entertaining. Our room in the hotel was cold. An extra radiator and a blanket solved the problem. We were on the top floor, hot water took a long time to arrive and was not usually available before 6.30 am. We really enjoyed our holiday and will be travelling with Alfa again.

Great holiday

Just back from our holiday in Newquay, we had a great time, hotel was nice and room was clean and bed comfortable, the meals were good, 10/10 to the chef, poached eggs were spot on every time. James our waiter in the restaurant was brilliant, very friendly and service was quick. Have to give a mention to Kevin our driver, who kept us informed of times for breaks on the long journey there and back, and gave helpful information on all our excursions, very friendly, approachable and funny, and even took the time to tell us about the other hotels and resorts that alfa provide, as we were wondering where to go next, we are booked for September and looking forwards to booking for next year, thank you alfa great holiday

Lotte har mange års erfaring med skole- og studierejser. Lotte har indgående kendskab til flere områder, da hun ad flere omgange har boet og rejst i udlandet, blandt andet Frankrig og Belgien. Når I planlægger rejser til Frankrig, Wien, Belgien, Portugal, Schweiz, Island, Estland, Letland og Litauen, vil I kunne møde Lotte som rejserådgiver.

Brian Jacobsen

Brian er stor ski-entusiast, og har mange års erfaring med at arrangere skirejser til både små, store og meget store grupper, til destinationer mod både syd og nord.  Brian er den helt rette at tale med, når du skal til f.eks. Neukirchen, Nassfeld, Hafjell eller Kvitfjell. Udover at være din rejserådgiver på skirejsen, arbejder Brian også med sommerrejser med aktivt indhold, blandt andet til Tjekkiet, Østrig og Norge.

Louise Klausen

Louise har mere end 15 års erfaring med skole- og studierejser, og har gennem tiden planlagt rejser til de fleste rejsemål i Europa samt flere rejsemål i USA. Louise har både planlægnings- og rejseerfaring på de fleste af vores rejsemål.

Rikke Bernstorff Lange

Rikke er en gammel kending hos AlfA Travel. Hun er heldigvis vendt tilbage til os efter et længere ophold sammen med familien i USA. Rikke har stor erfaring med skolerejser og lidt af en multikunstner.

Rikkes primære opgaver forgår ude af huset, hvor hun servicerer vores  mange samarbejdsskoler med fysiske besøg. Rikke bidrager med sin erfaring og store viden, til at skolerne får endnu mere valuta for pengene på grupperejsen.

Dorte Saugstrup

Dorte er kommet til AlfA Travel i sommeren 2023, og har tidligere arbejdet med grupperejser i en 4-årig periode i hendes eget rejsebureau Dansk Grupperejser. Dorte skal primært styrke vores indsats i forhold til firmarejser.

Louise Poulsgaard

Louise er uddannet i rejsebranchen i 2001. Hun har været hos AlfA Travel siden 2006 og har tidligere arbejdet med grupperejser til Frankrig og Belgien. Nu har Louise ansvaret for en række administrative opgaver, og samtidig er hun involveret i planlægningen og afviklingen af vores rejser i Klassikernes Rejseforening.

Tommy kom til AlfA Travel i 2012 og har været med til at styrke vores administrative funktioner – ikke mindst bogholderiet. Tommy arbejder som support for vores rejsekonsulenter, hvor han blandt andet udsteder rejsedokumenter og flybilletter. Tommy har tidligere arbejdet 9 år i rejsebranchen og har dermed stor erfaring at trække på indenfor rejsebranchen.

Trine er vores blæksprutte i backoffice. Hun understøtter rejserådgiverne med en lang række opgaver, og er altid klar med en hjælpende hånd, der hvor der er brug for den.
