I went on the 10 hour Hawai'i circle island tour and it was my favorite tour during my visit! We were driven around by Uncle Wong and Jeremy was our tour guide. It was from 7 am to 5 pm and we were able to comfortably ride the bus throughout the island. We did not have to worry about parking or driving. We were able to intake the beautiful scenery as we passed by and take a nap on the drive back. Jeremy had such a great personality, passion and knowledgeable about the island! He was also organized and prepared! He texted the morning of to remind us of our tour and he also texted photos of what he was talking about during the tour. He also sent recommendations for food, activities and excursions. He also went through the lunch menu and took our orders in advance on the bus so that it would be ready for when we arrived at Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp (btw it is true what he says, best and freshest shrimp on the island!) I enjoyed the drive, the temple, and every place that we visited. Without this experience I would not have had the chance to try the variety of food and see unique parts of the island. It was a little cloudy and rainy but that didn't stop the fun. We were able to snorkel and we saw so many turtles and fish! Heads up the rocks are pretty sharp so I recommend bringing reef shoes*** (as well as extra clothing, towels and cash! It's cash only for the food stops)*** And all the stops had clean restrooms so that was much appreciated! I definitely recommend this tour! Thanks again Jeremy and Uncle Wong for the amazing experience! mahalo!

As newbies to the island, we obviously had to do the circle tour. I was greeted by cousin Mya with so much enthusiasm I was excited for the tour before it even began! I love how kind and wholesome he was. Not only did I learn the rich history of Hawaii, he also gave so many tips and tricks for navigating the island. He truly welcomed us into his ohana and by the end of the tour I felt like we were truly family! The tour itself was definitely worth waking up at 6am for. I enjoyed the snorkeling part too and saw 3 sea turtles! Overall, I highly recommend everyone young and old , to do this tour and explore Oahu! Thank you circle tour and Cousin Mya! - Michelle & Kenny from New York.

With my first trip to Hawaii,y wife decided to book a tour of Honolulu Island that culminated in taking a trip to the Dole Plantation. Our driver Tim was very friendly, funny and informative with information about the island and the sites we saw. In total we saw and experienced over 20 different sites along our route to the North Shore. Along the way we say homes owned by Jackie Chan, President Barack Obama, Keanu Reeves and Dwayne Johnson to name a few. We visited several beaches, stopped and got some awethentic Hawaiian food and even visited a Macadamian nut farm, which was a big step for me as I am allergic to all things tree nuts. All in all it was a fun experience and I would definitely do it again with Tim as my driver. Can't wait to become a regular visited to this mighty island and experience more that it has to offer.

10 stars for my tour guide, but 4 stars for the tour itself, if you take it as it is, which is basically a sight seeing tour. I think this would be a great precursor to your trip to see what the island has to offer and then planning accordingly, but in terms of exploring, there wasn't much time to see and play on the different spots we stopped at, just snapping some quick photos. But, still a cool tour for those who isn't renting a car because it does go around basically the whole island. Guide I had was a local and super enthusiastic. Knew many trails and locations that we could explore. Ended up learning a lot of Hawaiian culture, stories and food from him. I found myself getting excited by all the trails and different places he mentioned. I appreciate that we had more time for snorkeling, but the water was a bit murkier than I expected and I only ended up seeing a couple of fishes and two sea turtles, but only because they were bobbing on the surface. I wouldn't have been able to see them underwater.

It's a great tour. Highly recommended it as one of your first tours on the island to get a little taste of everything!

My husband and I booked our trip to Hawaii a month in advance for July 2021. This was probably last minute as everything was pretty booked up. We scheduled this tour the first night we were in Hawaii, as most things were sold out. Overall would highly recommend the tour. Our tour guide, Josh, was very positive and kept the group in a good mood throughout the entire trip. He decided to do the trip "in reverse" so we would get more time at the stops and snorkeling so we would not have to compete with the other tour groups. It is a great way to see the island as an Uber was costing about $100 per way to get to North Shore from Waikiki. We got to swim with many turtles and spend more time at the sites. Would recommend for anyone coming to Hawaii for the first time or that has never done a tour before.

I have never traveled before and did not know what to expect but Papa P has truly excelled any expectations I have ever had. We seen so much of the island while being entertained. We seen a Macadamian Nut Farm, we went to the Dole Plantation, took pictures at alot of scenic spots etc. We witnessed so much of Oahu that I wouldnt have seen staying in Waikiki. Overall, 10/10 definitely would recommend.

I've met all kinds of tour guides in various places around the world. I have to say that John Jr. has definitely raised the bar on what it means to be a quality tour guide! He was both friendly, warm, genuine, knowledgeable and entertaining! These qualities ultimately made this tour for me. My boyfriend and I were picked up at the Duke statue on Waikiki at 6:40am. The day before I received a call to remind me of the tour, as well a reminder email. The whole process was very organized. After we were picked up, we proceeded to pick up guests at other hotels. In total we had about 24 people in our group. John Jr. made a total of 3 stops to pick up everyone. The tour was well planned. Our first stop was where Amelia Earhart flew from Hawaii. There's a monument located in this spot. On our first stop John Jr. gave us some delicious poi donuts and ice cold bottle water. Next, we went to a blowhole lookout. Sometimes people see whales in this location. The views were so gorgeous! Next we had a washroom break at at Hawaiian souvenir shop. After this, we stopped at a Macadamia nut farm. For lunch we ate delicious shrimp from Fumi's. John Jr. called Fumi's with our orders so we wouldn't have to wait long in line. This definitely saved a lot of time! Afterwards we went snorkeling (not in Hanauma Bay) and then finished our day at the Dole Plantation. Along the way, we passed places where different movies (like Jurassic Park and 50 First Dates) and TV shows (like Lost and Magnum PI.) were filmed. Without this tour, I would've never known these were significant filming locations. We passed by where famous people own houses or towns where they grew up. For example, caught a glimpse of the house where President Barack Obama grew up! This tour was a quick sampling of various key tourist locations around the island. Unfortunately, we didn't spend too much time in one location. Many stops were around 15-20 minutes. The longer stops were for snorkeling and Dole plantation for about an hour each. We didn't have time to go to the maze or train at the Dole Plantation. To avoid disappointment, look at this tour as a research to help you get an idea of places you might want to return to. With such a large group and limited time, it really isn't feasible to spend a long time in one location. John Jr. was very knowledgeable in teaching us about this history of Hawaii and the origins of many famous Hawaiian words. We also learned about struggles of the Hawaiian people. We definitely learned a lot more about Hawaii after taking this tour. Very culturally enriching! John Jr. made this tour unforgettable for me. He had such an amazing voice!! He honestly blew me away with his talent!! He sang us a total of 3 songs throughout the day. I saw the ukulele when we walked into the bus. I had no idea we'd be getting a mini concert! Listening to his singing was probably my favorite part of the whole day! He told us he is part of a reggae band called Cultural Nation! Mahalo to John Jr. and Aloha Circle Island Adventure for this wonderful experience! I would definitely recommend trying this tour out, to get a taste of what the island has to offer!

We visited Honolulu recently and decided to forgo renting a car to save some money. We knew we wanted to see more than Waikiki beach and surrounding areas, so we booked Oahu Circle Island Snorkel Tour on Groupon for ~$50pp ($100 for 2). It was by far the most extensive and best deal tour we could find. Kanamu was our tour guide. She is a native Hawaiin and is extremely knowledgable about the island. She told us stories about her childhood and family, the community, native Hawaiian history and culture, and the history of Hawaii up until now. She really gave such a clear and honest picture that is not overly sanitized like most of what you'll hear as a tourist in Honolulu. And she had such a beautiful talking and singing voice. She is so kind and loving too. You could tell she had a great relationship with the other tour guides and folks on the island. Also she was a few steps ahead of most of the tour guides, which I appreciated. Also it was a smaller bus so it felt more personable. Great way to see Oahu without a car and get lots of great photos. Highly recommend Kanamu with Oahu Circle Island Tour.

Description

Stop At: Diamond Head State Monument, 18th Ave., Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

Our first point of interest takes us to beautiful Diamond Head Lookout, where you will be able to catch the end of the sunrise. The surf is almost always up at Diamond Head beach, so you can watch the surfers and see other Hawaiian Islands on a clear Day.

*Please understand that this stop is not the Diamond Head State Monument that is inside of the crater. Another name for this location is the Amelia Earhart Lookout.

Duration: 15 minutes

Pass By: Kahala, Kahala, Hawaii

After the Diamond Head Lookout, our second point of interest is the Gold Coast in Kahala. This area is like the Beverly Hills of Hawaii. You will see unbelievably large and luxurious properties and expansive estates that are owned by movie stars, celebrities, dignitaries, entrepreneurs, and of course doctors and lawyers. Definitely an interesting sight to take in.

Pass By: Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, Honolulu, Hawaii 96825

Hanauma Bay is a beautiful marine embayment on the eastern shore of the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It was formed within a volcanic cone and is a protected marine life conservation area that attracts over one million visitors every year. The bay is home to a diverse range of marine life, including over 400 species of fish, sea turtles, and reef sharks. The beach and bay are surrounded by lush green hills, which provide a stunning backdrop to the crystal-clear waters.

Hanauma Bay has a significant historical and cultural significance for the Hawaiian people. The bay was once a site for traditional Hawaiian fishing practices, and the surrounding land was used for farming by ancient Hawaiians.

Please note that due to parking limitations, we are not able to stop at Hanauma Bay. This is a drive by attraction, and the tour guide will provide information.

Stop At: Eternity Beach, Kalaniana'ole Highway, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

Situated Near the blowhole in an incredibly beautiful corner of Oahu is a secret beach made famous in the movie "From Here to Eternity." This little cove is extraordinary, and one of our hidden gems. If you have some extra time while here on vacation, we recommend that you come back to spend the day... It's just about the most relaxing place on the planet!

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Halona Blowhole, Kalanianole Highway, Hawaii 96825

After we pass through Kahala, one of the most interesting points along our journey around Oahu is the powerful Halona Blowhole. Come and marvel at this geologic wonder as it shoots water into the heavens. As the waves crash into the rocks, the water moves underneath the rocks from underwater caves. Then the pressure builds up and it shoots the water as high as you can see. One of Oahu's geologic wonders!

Pass By: Makapu'u Point, Kalaniana'ole Hwy, turnout above Makapu'u Beach, Hawaii 96795

After we are pau with Sandy Beach, we will continue our journey and round the Eastern Corner of the Island of Oahu. As we do, you will get a glimpse at one of the most awe-inspiring views that you will ever see. The vista from the Makapu'u Point lookout is truly something to behold... The Bluest of Blues, the Greenest of Greens, ancient jagged lava rock surrounding yellow sand, and the Makapu'u lighthouse sitting stoic in the background. Someone pinch me...

Pass By: Makapuu Lighthouse, Waimanalo, Honolulu, Hawaii 96795

Makapu'u is a stunning coastal area located on the eastern side of Oahu, Hawaii. It is known for its iconic lighthouse, scenic hiking trails, and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can explore the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail, which offers a moderate hike and panoramic views of the coastline. The area is also home to Makapu'u Beach, a popular destination for swimming and bodyboarding.

Historically, Makapu'u played an important role in the defense of Oahu. The lighthouse was built in 1909 to guide ships through the treacherous waters off the coast, and during World War II, the area was used as a lookout and gun emplacement site. Compliance status

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation.

  • Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website. These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
  • Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.
  • Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Holy Cow! Snorkeling With…

My wife and I are in Honolulu celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and can’t thank cousin Johnny Jr. enough for starting us out on such a fun day. From the start we could tell we probably made the best choice selecting Aloha Circle Island Tour as an introduction to Honolulu. Little did we know we would get the history of the island, but Hawaii itself and the people as well are fascinating. Or, was cousin Johnny Jr. just that good of a tour guide… I am typically not too interested in hanging out on a beach and especially not eager to see what’s lurking around inside the water, but holy cow! snorkeling with sea turtles was absolutely awesome! Thank goodness for lifeguard Dan and his aloha attitude to making that experience a reality for everyone. The poi donuts were an interesting start to the history introduction and made for good conversation, so please don’t stop doing that. The ukulele is a nice touch too cousin. Don’t give up your day job, please. Just to finish the thought about the day, it ended with an unbelievable fireworks display here at the hotel. Thanks again Aloha Circle Island Tour!

The Atmosphere Was Good Times…

I managed to squeeze this one trip in still before I left Oahu. I am very glad I did. Uncle Tony did a great job making us all feel welcome and connected with the rest of our group, for the whole trip we treated eat other as Ohana and made sure everyone was happy and on board. The conversation and information was good, the jokes were funny, the atmosphere was good times as we went from site to site. Yes we snorkeled, yes we saw turtles and even a monk seal, yes we ate well (probably too many nuts), we saw a lot of beautiful scenery and got many photos. Enjoyed the songs, the music, the stories, the people and the whole experience. It will not be forgotten. Mahalo.

While we enjoy making Hawaii island itineraries and sharing them with you, we would be doing you wrong by not recommending an Oahu circle island tour.

  • They have quality and comfortable vehicles

Watch our experience on our favorite Oahu circle island tour below to help you better understand what to expect on your day around the island.

Best Large Group Oahu Circle Island Tour

Hop on this 10-hour Oahu adventure that’s perfect for big families and groups. Oahu Nature Tours Ultimate Circle Island Tour accommodates up to 45 people and is a jam-packed day of sightseeing!

The tour includes lunch and access to Waimea Valley . Some of the notable stops include Diamond Head Crater, Halona Blowhole, sea turtles at Halona Beach, Makapu’u Lighthouse, Mokoli’i Island, North Shore shrimp farms, and the Dole Plantation.

One of the coolest things about this Circle Island tour is that they bring along an expert nature guide to point out Hawaii’s unique flora and fauna, alongside information on Oahu’s rich history, geology, and heritage.

Best Oahu circle island tours - Diamond Head

This tour includes roundtrip transportation – they’ll pick you up from your hotel in Honolulu – and lunch from Fumi’s Shrimp Stand, with delicious options like lemon pepper shrimp and chicken katsu. You’ll also walk away with a 152-page, pocket nature guide as a souvenir!

Don’t forget your rain ponchos! Hawaii’s variable weather won’t stop you as this tour operates rain or shine. You’ll also want to wear comfortable shoes ( we like Tevas ) although you’ll only clock about 1.5 miles throughout the day. Guests must be 3 years and older.

Best Oahu Private Tours

A private tour of Oahu is a special treat! We love customizing our itinerary and having the flexibility of a private guide for the day. This is one of those times when splurging is well worth it!

Some of the best parts of a private tour is that you get to pick exactly what you want to see and do (or they’ll choose for you), you’ll be picked up right at your accommodation, and you have your tour guide all to yourself for any burning questions.

Best Oahu circle island tours - Ted's Bakery North Shore

Here are two of our favorite companies for private tours of Oahu.

Mahina Hawaii

Mahina Hawaii runs completely private, 8-hour tours of Oahu, whether you want to do a full Circle Island Tour or focus on one specific area. The entire tour is tailored to what your group wants to see and they choose locations based on both your preferences and current weather conditions.

Although the itinerary is fully customizable, some options include snorkeling, hiking to waterfalls, cliff jumping, local food tastings, and traditional sightseeing at destinations like the Byodo-in Temple. Because this tour is just for you and your group, you can stop anywhere along the way, whether it is planned or spur of the moment.

Your private guide, transportation, snacks, water, snorkel equipment, and GoPro photos and videos are all included. Although lunch isn’t provided they have many delicious recommendations to choose from along the way.

If you have more than 7 in your group, you’ll need to let them know when you book the tour. They can get more van and local guides to fit your group size.

We went out with them on one of our Oahu trips and had a blast!

Best Oahu circle island tours - Mahina Hawaii

Halia Tours

Halia Tours operates a 9-hour circle island tour that can accommodate groups of up to 10. Each tour aims to include two 1.5-hour activities and 3 to 5 photo stops with plenty of time to grab snacks and a bite to eat along the way.

Because this is a private tour, your itinerary is fully customizable to circumnavigate Oahu’s Koolau Range. Just some of the activity options include Oahu’s world-famous beaches, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking to Diamond Head or the Waimea Valley waterfall, scenic lookouts, and downtown Honolulu stops like the Bishop’s Museum. You can even “theme” your tour around foodie hot spots and shopping.

Best Oahu circle island tours - Waimea Valley Waterfall

Although they are a private tour group and guests can “go anywhere” they emphasized not entering local neighborhoods or heading to unsafe areas. Food, drinks, rentals, and any additional entrance fees are a la carte.

If you’re looking for a half-day option, they can also do a “ mini tour ” that will have you back at your hotel, sipping Mai Tais by the early afternoon. They have flat rate pricing for groups of 1-5 or 5-10, which might affect your decision if you’re a smaller group.

Best Oahu Circle Island Tour from Ko Olina

Most group tours on Oahu leave from Waikiki. If you’re staying in Ko Olina Resort (Disney’s Aulani, Marriott, Four Seasons) , E Noa is your best option! Offering a 9-hour, group circle island tour for up to 25 guests, this group size feels a little less “big box” than the large tours and allows for plenty of time to truly experience all of the wonderful Oahu highlights along the way.

You’ll avoid Honolulu traffic, stopping at sights like Nu’uanu Pali Lookout, Byodo-In Temple, Tropical Farms for macadamia nut cultivation, Waimea Valley, and end at the Dole Plantation.

Best Oahu circle island tours - Nu'uanu Pali Lookout

Lunch and all of your admission fees are included in the price which makes this a great value. You’ll also be riding in style in a mini-bus with A/C and pick up and drop off from your hotel. Don’t forget to bring along your bathing suit and comfortable walking shoes.

Reminder, this tour departs from Ko Olina on the west side of Oahu.

Best Small Group Oahu Circle Island Tour

Pineapple Exp ’ small group circle island tour is the perfect option for those who want a more intimate experience without the private tour sticker shock.

Not only will you have plenty of time to stop and truly experience each place but your guide will be more readily available for questions and to drop some knowledge.

You’ll travel around Oahu with up to just 13 other vacationers on this 9-hour journey. Just some of your stops along the way are popular sights like Diamond Head State Monument, Byodo-In Temple, Makapu’u Point, Haleiwa Town Center, Dole Plantation, and North Shore Macadamia Nut Company. You’ll also stop at a few places that some of the other tours don’t such as Secret Turtle Beach and the Halona Blowhole.

Transportation to and from your hotel, water, snorkeling equipment, and Dole Whip are all included and all ages are welcome. You’re also gifted a Hawaiian pineapple at the end! How awesome is that?

Don’t forget to bring your bathing suit, comfy walking shoes, and reef-safe sunscreen!

What to Expect on an Oahu Circle Island Tour

Oahu circle island tour itinerary (sample).

Wondering what you’ll see on an Oahu Circle Island Tour? Here’s an idea of what you can expect…

  • Tours typically start in Honolulu and head east in a counter-clockwise direction around the island.
  • First stops are often Diamond Head Crater and Makapu’u Point, continuing north to Byodo-In Temple and one of the macadamia nut farms (yum!).
  • You’ll then explore the North Shore including the town of Haleiwa and Waimea Valley.
  • Most tours finish up at the Dole Plantation for a sweet treat on your way back to Honolulu.

Best Oahu circle island tours - Makapu'u Lighthouse

We highly recommend saving Pearl Harbor for a day of its own. Circle island tours that include a stop at Pearl Harbor are exceptionally long and it takes up a good chunk of the day that could be spent seeing other sights on Oahu.

We have a separate list of Pearl Harbor Tours if you’re interested in a guided option or you can easily visit on your own .

How long is an Oahu circle island tour?

Plan to be gone for an entire day on one of Oahu’s circle island tours. Most options range anywhere from 8 to 10 hours in total, with the majority of tours taking around 9 hours on average. Tours typically pick you up from (or near) your hotel early in the morning and drop you off just in time for dinner.

What is the best way to tour Oahu?

Hopping on a circle island guided tour is one of the best ways to see Oahu. These tours include most of the famous sites on the island, so you can tick off a bunch of different activities in one go. You’ll also have the added benefit of a professional guide, who can give you background on local history and culture, and you won’t have to worry about any planning.

If you’re thinking about DIYing the same route with a rental car, we highly recommend following our Oahu itinerary ! Keep in mind that renting a car can be a little bit of a hassle and comes with some “hidden” fees like overnight parking at your hotel.

What is the most scenic part of Oahu?

We couldn’t give the award for the most scenic part of Oahu to just one place. The whole island is very beautiful!

Our two favorites for scenery on the island are the North Shore and Windward Oahu.

The North Shore is a must for its more down-to-earth, local vibes and lush scenery. Winter brings big waves and surfing competitions that are exciting to see. A visit in summer means you can enjoy the stunning beaches from both the sand and the water.

Windward Oahu has a truly stunning stretch of coastline between Kualoa and Kailua. The Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden also makes for an incredible stop and is one of the most scenic spots we’ve found on Oahu. Picture 400 acres of gardens to explore with plants from around the world, all with the backdrop of Oahu’s jagged, Ko’olau Range.

Historic Downtown Honolulu

Historic Downtown Honolulu is a melting pot of the island's rich history and vibrant culture. Known for its well-preserved architectural wonders dating back to the 19th century, it offers a glimpse into Hawaii's past. The iconic 'Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the United States, and the Kawaiahao Church made of thousands of coral blocks, stand as testaments to the architectural diversity. A drive through this historic district offers a delightful blend of the past and present, making it a must-visit for culture and history enthusiasts.

Highlights Of Oahu Circle Island Byodo In Temple

The Byodo-In Temple

Nestled at the foot of the Ko'olau Mountains in the Valley of the Temples, the Byodo-In Temple is a veritable jewel of the Pacific. A non-practicing Buddhist temple, it is a replica of the famed Byodo-In Temple in Uji, Japan, and stands as a symbol of the cultural connections between Hawaii and Japan. Its serene atmosphere, surrounded by lush greenery and the tranquil sounds of the koi pond, offers a peaceful retreat from the bustle of downtown Honolulu. The famed temple, with its iconic Phoenix Hall holding an impressive 9-foot Buddha statue, echoes the intricate design and profound spirituality of its original counterpart. A visit to the Byodo-In Temple is a journey into a realm of tranquility and timeless cultural heritage.

Beyond the beach, Haleiwa is an artistic hub, home to galleries featuring local artisans' works, and street art adorning its buildings.
