About tanzania.

The United Republic of Tanzania is a country in East Africa bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the south. To the east it borders the Indian Ocean. Tanzania is famous for its snow-peaked mountain Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Blessed with a number of stunning lakes, superb national parks and pristine shorelines, Tanzania amazes everyone with its beauty. Some of the national parks we run safaris include the famous Serengeti National Park in the north, Ngorongoro Crater, and Selous Game Reserve and Mikumi National Park in the south.

Best Time For Visiting Tanzania

Tanzania is a huge country with much regional variation in geography and climate. There are mainly two distinct seasons are experienced, the dry and the rainy. If you have the interest to catch the movement of the Wildebeest migration, then November and August can be the best. But you need to be in the right place at the right time. Game viewing is at its best from June to October. If hiking adventure is the thing you love, then Kilimanjaro climbing is the best between July and October or January to March. The islands of Zanzibar are best between August and October. So anytime you choose, Tanzania has everything to amaze everyone.

Tanzania Travel Tips

 • Tanzania's unit of currency is the Tanzanian Shilling but credit cards are also accepted everywhere.
 • When packing for your Tanzania safari, light casual clothing not an attractive or eye-catching colours and a warm jacket for evening game drives are a safe throughout the year.
 • Tanzanians are friendly and harmonious people; however it is courteous to ask permission before photographing people.
 • Average summer temperatures: 18°C to 29°C, Average winter temperatures: 15°C to 26°C and Rainy season: mid-March to May ("long rains") and November to December ("short rains").

Getting There

Your entry point to the land is Dar-es-Salaam International Airport and Kilimanjaro International Airport Dar-es-Salaam International Airport is Tanzania's main airport is the gateway to the Indian Ocean coast and Zanzibar as well as Selous Game Reserve. Kilimanjaro International Airport: Tanzania's second international airport serves the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire. However charter flights are there to take you to the desired destinations. Road transfers and game drives in Tanzania are conducted in open-sided 4X4 safe safari vehicles.

Weather & Climate

 • The Average summer temperature in Tanzania is 18°C to 29°C and the Average winter temperatures: 15°C to 26°C.
 • Normally two seasons are experienced, Dry and Rainy.
 • The Rainy season: mid-March to May ("long rains") and November to December ("short rains").

People & Culture

Blessed with a wealth of wildlife and breathtaking landscape, Tanzania Culture and people have also a distinctive position. Over 120 tribes with 120 different cultures make a delightful mix of influences and beliefs. The Maasai Tribe is the most notable for their distinctive red and blue dress up, jumping dance, colorful beads and warrior nature. From the tall graceful Maasai warriors, the ancient ways of the Hadza bushmen, the inventive talents of the Makonde , the creative agricultural practices of the Wameru, to the Chaga farmers and traders. Each of the 120 different tribes in Tanzania has their own distinctive ways of life but together, they gracefully unite to outline Tanzania a worldwide attraction. Here the travelers will get the opportunities to know the lifestyle of the tribe.

Tanzania Food

Tanzanian cuisine reflects both the country’s history and geography. Ingredients such as curry reflect its role as a crossroads of trade, as Indian traders introduced it to the region. Tanzania puts its own flavor in every recipe whether its ugali, Supu ya Ndizi, maandazi, vitumbua, Wali wa Nazi, Mchuzi wa Samaki, Ndizi Kaanga, Mishkaki, Wali na Harage, pilau, chapatti, mchemsho, or chipsi mayai. The important ingredients include rice, coconut, and cornmeal. Tea the most widely consumed beverage and is typically consumed throughout the day, often while socializing and visiting with friends and family.

Whether you are looking to encounter the Big Five up close, see predators hunting down their prey, add to your collection of wildlife photographs, or relax in the tranquility of undestroyed landscapes, there is something for you in the national parks in Africa.

From the vast savannahs of the Serengeti to the lush rainforests of Bwindi, each safari offers a unique and unforgettable adventure.

If you are looking for safaris to add to your bucket list, you will never go wrong with the national parks we review here; they offer unforgettable experiences that are sure to captivate wildlife and nature enthusiasts.

If there’s one place in the world to view wildlife in their natural habitat, then the Serengeti has to be it. The National Park is famous for the annual migration of zebras, gazelles, and wildebeests, so book early if you want to witness this phenomenon. Endangered species in the park include black rhinoceros, cheetahs, elephants, and wild dogs.

Read also: Hidden Beaches Around the Globe

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Witnessing the great migration of wildebeests is undoubtedly Serenegti’s most iconic highlight.

But there is much more to enjoy other than the migration of the wildebeests. Serengeti is renowned as one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros) in their natural habitat. Other animals you may see on your safari through Serengeti include zebras, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes and various species of antelopes.

Serengeti is also known for its high concentration of big cats, such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. These are typically elusive, and many people going on safaris do not get an excellent chance to spot them.

Besides the animals, the vast plains of Serengeti, featuring acacia trees, are so calming to look at, especially when they burst into greenery during the rainy season. Whether you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience or you are into wildlife photography, Serengeti offers amazing exploration opportunities you need to experience.
