3.  Miami Brew Bus

What is it? This tour combines some of our favorite weekend activities into one: day drinking, sampling craft beers and letting others drive us around. If you’re interested in learning about Miami’s burgeoning local breweries, or just like drinking really good beer, grab a seat on the Brew Bus immediately.

Why go? You’ll be whisked away to several South Florida breweries on an air-conditioned minibus, given a tour of each facility and handed a complimentary beer of your choice at every location. Cheers to that.  $75

4.  Miami Beach Food and Art Deco Walking Tour

What is it? More than showing you where The Birdcage was filmed, Art Deco walking tours are a fun, interactive way to learn all about South Beach’s historic architecture—without ever needing to refer to your guidebook.

5.  Miami Duck Tour

What is it? Few tours will take a Pitbull dance break at a red light, but Duck Tours is unlike any other tour you’ll take in Miami. What is it? When all you’re seeing of Miami is revealed through a camera lens, you better know what you’re doing. Why go? This hands-on, all-levels workshop is perfect if you’re looking to add to your portfolio and become a master chasing the light. You’ll need to BYO equipment, including a tripod and a variety of lenses, to get the most out of the tour/class. $125

7.  Full Moon Over Miami River Cruise

What is it? Ever wondered what downtown Miami was like before it was dotted by skyscrapers? What do you really know about the Tequesta Indians, Brickell’s earliest inhabitants? Hop aboard the Pelican Skipper catamaran and get answers to these and other questions on Dr. Paul George’s popular monthly cruise down the Miami River.

Why go? The boat sets off from centrally located (and typically poppin’)  Bayside Marketplace and guests can bring drinks and snacks on board. Admission to HistoryMiami is included in the ticket price. $60

8.  Design District Public Art and Food Tour

What is it? On this two-and-a-half-hour tour, you’ll sample food from St. Roch , taste wines at Abaco , tuck into a creamy soft serve ice cream at Mad Lab and more. Plus, your guide sneaks you into the designer shops to ogle their collections of commissioned art.

Why go? The bougie neighborhood gets a bad rap for being nothing more than a place to shop and for being expensive. While the latter might be true, there’s plenty to see and do in the MDD that has nothing to do with retail. $69

9.  Classic Car Tour

What is it?  Cruise Miami in style in a rare and gorgeous 1960 Ford Sunliner convertible on one of several history-filled sightseeing tours around Miami and the beaches.

Why go?  The luxe private tours don’t run cheap but are highly customizable, with options to build in stops at popular destinations in Little Havana, Wynwood and more⁠—plus pick-up and drop-off at a location of your choosing. $TBD

10.  Coconut Grove Food and History Tour

What is it?  Taking place every Saturday at 12:30pm and running three hours, this restaurant adventure takes guests to the neighborhood’s most popular restaurants, including Glass & Vine  and  Ariete . Historical stops are built into the route as well.

Why go?  It was only a matter of time until this charming dining destination that boasts concepts from some of the city’s best chefs had its own culinary tour, but it’s finally Coconut Grove ’s moment in the sun.  $69  

11.  Miami Puzzling Adventure

What is it? Here’s a fun one for locals: a scavenger hunt that takes you throughout Miami as you complete brain teasers, solve puzzles and answer questions on your smartphone. Do it solo or with a group and take as much time as you need.

Why go? Participants are timed on travel and the time it takes them to complete a challenge, though the walking tour shouldn’t take more than two hours.  $50

12.  MiMO (Miami Modern) Tour

What is it? This two-hour walking tour spotlights the neighborhood’s unique traits and its MiMo influences across public and private structures. This Miami Design League tour is offered for private groups only, so convince your friends.

Why go?  Most of us know MiMo from the pastel-hued motels along Biscayne Bay, the historic Vagabond Hotel or the arresting Coppertone girl sign. But few realize that this iconic Miami Modern architecture also has a place on the North Shore of Miami Beach. $TBD

13.  Town of Surfside Walking Tours

What is it?  Get to know the quaint town of Surfside, a beachfront neighborhood with cute pedestrian walkways, family-owned shops and a small community center compete with waterslides for the kids.

Why go?  Everyone's favorite local historian, Dr. Paul George, leads three free walking tours in 2020 (Feb 9, Mar 29, May 3) down Harding and Collins Avenue, where many galas and fancy black-tie affairs attended by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor were once held. Nature is also a big part of the experience as attendees learn about the area's protected loggerhead turtles. Tours depart from the Surfside Community Center . 

14.  Wynwood Graffiti Experience

What is it? No matter what the countless murals in Wynwood might lead you to believe, spray painting a vacant wall is still very much illegal. Fortunately, this workshop and tour gives you free rein without the risk of defacing public property.

Why go? Led by a real-life street artist, the class takes place at an artist studio (address is provided upon booking). Students are handed a can of paint, a mask (safety first!) and shown how to write, blend colors and illustrate using different spray tips.  $36

15.  The Grand Miami Air Tour

What is it? Pressed for time? This is how you see Miami’s essential sights in under an hour. Your pilot will not only steer you clear of danger but also give you the lowdown on what you’re seeing below.

Why go? Fly over South Beach, through Downtown and across Biscayne Bay as you soak in the city’s beautiful skyline and indelible Art Deco architecture.  $165

16.  Florida Everglades Hike, Kayak and Airboat Tour

What is it? Those willing to brave the elements for an up-close glimpse of South Florida’s most impressive landscape should opt for an amphibian experience. Start with a one-hour airboat tour, which whisks you through thousands of tiny islands and past native wildlife.

Why go? You’ll see crocodiles and alligators (the Everglades is among the few places in the world where the two species cohabitate), as well as all sorts of other wildlife, many of which are endangered. A dry hike led by a naturalist and lunch are included in this unique adventure. $209

17.  Big Bus Miami Hop-On Hop-Off Tour

What is it? What’s a sightseeing tour throughout Miami without a little traffic? Not an authentic one, that's for sure. If you're bound to get stuck beyond the wheel, it’s best you leave the driving to someone else so that you can spend the afternoon gawking out the window, taking in the city’s fabulous architecture and those stunning ocean views.

18.  Wynwood Graffiti Golf Cart Tour

What is it? Cover more ground while exploring Wynwood’s myriad murals on a graffiti buggy tour. You’ll hop on the golf cart for a one-hour ride through the colorful arts district, learning about the popular street art and the artists who created it.

Why go?  Do you suffer from FOMO? No worries! This fast-paced route brings you past more than 50 of the area’s galleries and murals. $39

19.  Full Moon Kayak Tour

What is it?  Glide your way through the arched mangrove canopy and bask under the light of the moon and stars on this monthly tour at scenic Oleta River State Park.

Why go?  Guides will lead you through the peaceful intercoastal waterway to the park’s hidden treasure: Sandspur Island. The tour ends back at the beach cove for s’mores and refreshments around the campfire. $50

20.  Coral Gables Bike Tour

What is it? The fastest way to learn why Coral Gables was nicknamed the City Beautiful is on one of its family-friendly bike tours, presented by the Coral Gables Museum and Bike Walk Coral Gables.

Why go? You’ll ride down tree-lined boulevards, around historic fountains and past picturesque homes built in the grand Mediterranean Revival architectural style. The route changes monthly to include different neighborhoods and bike rentals are available. $10

We took the private south beach tour, and it was great. We were actually deciding to either book the hop on hop off tour, or this private one. We're so glad we picked this one. The trip was in a stretched open jeep, which was really nice. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Our family of 8 took the jet ski tour, and a private transfer to miami seaquarium with this company. The jet ski ride was amazing. The guide was very helpful. It was our first time, and Pablo made sure we had great time.

The parasailing ride was fantastic!

We did the Little Havana walking tour and food tour today with Sophia as our tour guide and she was amazing! So knowledgeable and very funny! All of the food was so good and learning about the Cuban culture we so neat! A great way to experience the best shops and even watch cigar rollers! This was probably one of the best guided tours I’ve done anywhere! Def a must do if visiting Little Havana!

 A 120-year-old majestic oak tree serves as the focal point of this funky shopping destination just north of the Design District . The Bodhi "wish tree," as it’s called, is based on a Buddhist tradition of designating a tree to be used as the object of wishes and offerings. In addition to the tree, you’ll find gardens and walkways that connect the businesses and micro-boutiques that make up the neighborhood. It's free to visit, and offers a peaceful respite from Miami's sometimes frenetic urban core. 

Jewish Museum of Florida - FIU: The South Beach Jewish Walking Tour Arrow

Sponsored by Florida International University and run through the Jewish Museum of Florida, this look at the history of the Jewish people and Jewish culture in Miami begins at the museum itself, a historic former synagogue. Small groups first watch a short video presentation and then get a look at some of the main artifacts (if you're interested in the museum itself, you can return later). Then begins a two-hour walk around a 10-block radius, with stops at various significant buildings such as the Lord Balfour Hotel. The tour is a great palate cleanser for the decadence and glitz of Miami Beach. It’s a humbling, grounding experience in the best way, and gives some much-needed cultural context to this part of the city. 

Lincoln Road Mall Arrow

Running almost the entire width of South Beach , Lincoln Road Mall is a mile-long pedestrian mall and one of Miami’s favorite spots for outdoor activities—besides the beach, which is just a few blocks away. Designed by Morris Lapidus, the architect behind The Fontainebleau hotel, the strip maintains a fun, Miami Modern (MiMo) style of the past, but with more than 100 fashionable shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Retail options range from mall mainstays like the Gap and American Eagle to high-end names like All Saints and John Varvatos. But the mall doesn't close down when the shops do. The restaurants and bars keep Lincoln Road buzzing into the wee hours.

Ancient Spanish Monastery Arrow

Originally known as The Monastery of Our Lady, Queen of the Angels, this ancient monastery, a true architectural wonder, started life in the year 1133—in northern Spain. It was eventually purchased by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, who had each structure dismantled, stone-by-stone, packed into more than 11,000 crates, and shipped to New York. After sitting in a warehouse in Brooklyn for more than a quarter-century, the crates were purchased by new owners who understood the stones’ potential value as a tourist attraction. They spent nearly two years relocating and rebuilding the structure in North Miami.

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County Arrow

Designed by architect Cesar Pelli in 2006, Miami’s iconic performing arts center was built on the site of a former Sears department store, of which a seven-story Art Deco tower is preserved, now home to a small cafe and book store. Composed of two imposing buildings that take inspiration from beige-colored shells, the 2,400-seat Ziff Ballet Opera House and 2,200-seat Knight Concert Hall are connected by Thomson Plaza for the Arts, an outdoor public gathering space. The complex also includes the Carnival Studio Theater, an intimate venue for experimental productions. The buildings are united by a grand oval-shaped public plaza that stretches across Biscayne Boulevard. A popular gathering space with outdoor performances and events, the plaza is an inviting oasis with lush garden terraces, fountains, shade trees, and greenery.

Venetian Pool Arrow

Pictures don't do the Venetian Pool—one of the most beautiful public pools in the world—justice, but trust us: it's worth the trip to Coral Gables just to experience the complex in person. Be warned that the pool gets very crowded on hot days, particularly when kids are out of school (although no one under three is allowed), so your best bet is to call ahead to see if there's room. Or, better yet, get there early. You'll get a head start on sunbathing; just be sure to bring sunscreen .

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Arrow

Now a national landmark, the Vizcaya is a living museum dedicated to the early days of Miami’s rise as a destination and to old-school European design. The waterfront home’s many treasures include more than 2,500 antique art objects and furnishings; 10 acres of immaculately landscaped gardens, including 2,000 orchids; and 25 acres of endangered forest lands. It's easy to spend several hours at Vizcaya without getting bored.

South Pointe Park Arrow

As much as locals might have liked to keep South Pointe Park under wraps, it was only a matter of time before word got out. The park is located at the southernmost tip of South Beach just a few steps from Joe’s Stone Crab , the legendary restaurant that everyone's got to try at least once for Florida’s finest seasonal crustacean. While it’s technically just a city park, this 17-acre haven offers much more than a couple of benches and pretty palm trees to lounge beneath. There’s beach access, a fishing pier, a playground for kids and lots more green space for relaxing. Also, the by-the-hour parking spaces here are not only usually more available than elsewhere in South Beach’s many pay lots but also far less pricey.

Pinecrest Gardens Arrow

Established in the 1930’s and originally the home of Parrot Jungle the Village of Pinecrest acquired the 14-acre park in 2002, securing its place on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 and transforming it into a venue for events and education. Beyond the breathtaking and massive Banyan trees, the hardwood hammocks, and a serene cypress slough and orchids winding up tree limbs, the park has a full schedule of programming that keeps visitors interested throughout the year, from concerts in the 530-seat amphitheater, to rotating art exhibits to horticulture lectures and holiday festivities. The Celtics (-550) will win this game, but no way am I betting over 5 units to win 1 back. I’ll be saving my wager for the spread in this one.

Against the spread

Take the CELTICS -10.5 ( -110 ) in this one. Boston got its wake-up call in Game 2 and took care of business in Game 3. The Heat don’t have the depth to keep up with this well-oiled machine in Boston.

The scary thing is, Boston won by 20 and did not really play all that well in Game 3. The Celtics have won 8 of their last 10 straight up against the Heat and covered the spread in 2 of 3 games in this series thus far.

I really want to take the Under, but this number has gotten too low for me. If it were 205 or higher, I’d jump on it. The Under has gone 2-1 in this series, but this is the lowest number we’ve seen.
