Située au bord du lac Léman à côté de Vevey, La Tour-de-Peilz est une commune qui fait partie de la riviera vaudoise. Découvrons ensemble les lieux à visiter dans cette commune.

Que voir à La Tour-de-Peilz ?

1. le château de la tour-de-peilz (musée suisse du jeu) :.

Au bord du lac Léman se trouve le château de La Tour-de-Peilz. Datant du XIIIe siècle, ce château fut construit par Pierre de Savoie. Le château servait à surveiller le trafic lacustre sur le lac Léman, il a également servit de douane.

Ensuite, en 1476 avec les guerres de Bourgogne, le château fut ravagé. Cependant, il fut reconstruit en 1747, par Jean Grésier, un français de Guadeloupe.

Plus tard, en 1979, le château fut racheté par la commune de La Tour-de-Peilz suite à une votation populaire. Puis, en 1987, le Musée Suisse du Jeu est inauguré dans ce château.

1.1. Visite de la Tour-Est du château :

Dans l’enceinte du château, se trouve la Tour-Est, qui est librement accessible sans passer par le musée et permet d’avoir un beau panorama sur le Léman.

2. L’église de La Tour-de-Peilz (Temple Saint-Théodule) :

Sur la Place du Temple se trouve l’église de La Tour-de-Peilz. La première trace écrite de cette église remonte à 1307, le lieu était alors occupé par une chapelle dédiée à Saint-Théodule.

Ensuite, au XIVe siècle, le chœur et la nef sont aménagés pour faire de cette chapelle une église.

Puis en 1536, avec la Réforme, l’église deviendra un lieu de culte protestant.

L’architecture de cette église fut régulièrement remaniée au fil des siècles, jusqu’à sa restauration en 1961 qui a consisté à lui rendre un aspect médiéval , puis une rénovation entre 2014 et 2017 pour rendre à l’église son éclat.

Une promenade aménagée vous permettra de vous balader le long du lac et de profiter de beaux paysages.

Il est possible de poursuivre votre balade jusqu’à Vevey .

La Tour-de-Peilz est accessible en train , en bus et en bateau .

Il vous faudra environ 1h20 de trajet en train depuis Genève pour rejoindre la gare de La Tour-de-Peilz .

Depuis Lausanne , La Tour-de-Peilz se rejoint en environ 25 minutes de train .
