ONE OK ROCK’s North America 2022 tour kicks off with single “Save Yourself”

Alternative rock band ONE OK ROCK surprised fans with a double-whammy announcement this week. The band not only announced their latest single Save Yourself releases on June 24, but they also unveiled a North America tour for later this fall!

ONE OK ROCK returns to North America

For the first time in almost three years, ONE OK ROCK prepares to take North America by storm this Fall! The four-piece band announced a whopping 23 live shows across the US and Canada. The whirlwind tour kicks off in Austin, TX, and finishes out in Los Angeles, CA. The four-piece band will be headlining along with special guests YOU ME AT SIX and FAME ON FIRE.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, June 24, but you can access the presale now with the artist code “1OKR2022” . There are general admission tickets as well as VIP packages.

The VIP package, dubbed the “ONE OK ROCK VIP Experience” includes:

Save Yourself for this intimate livestream

Additionally, ONE OK ROCK announced their first digital single of 2022, Save Yourself .  The music video premieres on YouTube on June 24 at 21:00 (JST), the same day tickets for their North America tour go on sale.

Just before the YouTube premiere, the band will host a live stream on YouTube at around 20:30 (JST) on the same day. During this intimate livestream, the band will share their thoughts and insight on the new single. Find when to catch the premiere at your local time on the flyer below!

One OK Rock Reveal Fall 2022 North American Tour With You Me at Six + Fame on Fire

Japanese rockers One OK Rock are ready to cross the pond this fall to headline a North American tour, marking their first time stateside in over three years. And they've put together a pretty impressive tour package, bringing along You Me At Six and buzzy upstarts Fame on Fire along for the run.

The tour is set to get underway Sept. 19 at Emo's in Austin, Texas, crossing the country before coming to a close a month later at Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 20. All cities, dates and venues can be found at the bottom of this post.

One OK Rock most recently hit with their 2019 album Eye of the Storm , yielding the singles "Stand Out Fit In," "Wasted Nights" and "Change." The four-piece outfit have emerged as one of Japan's most beloved rock acts and have started making inroads in other countries as well. On top of the 2019 album, the group also issued the singles "Wonder," "Broken Heart of Gold" and "Renegades" last year, the latter song featuring a co-writing assist from Ed Sheeran.

As for their support, You Me At Six are currently touring in support of 2021's Suckapunch album, while Fame on Fire recently issued their non-album single "Plastic Heart" earlier this year.

Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available starting today (June 21) at 12N ET (Artist Presale Password: 10KR2022), while the public on-sale for tickets takes place this Friday (June 24) at 10AM local time. Visit the One OK Rock website for additional ticketing details.

Fueled by Ramen’s ONE OK ROCK are setting out on their first headlining North American tour in over three years, starting just days after the release of their latest album Luxury Disease .

What Is ONE OK ROCK’s Next Tour?

Following a string of festival performances in their home country Japan in August, ONE OK ROCK embarks on a full North American tour. It kicks off with three nights in Texas, starting with Austin on September 19th, then Houston the next day and Dallas the day after. They cover the East Coast next, beginning in Orlando on September 23rd and hitting Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and more over the following week. They play Toronto and Montreal at the start of October, then head west via Detroit, Chicago, and Denver. The final run of shows stretches across the West Coast, checking into Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Oakland, and the closer at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 20th.

In December, the band is scheduled to play three shows in Australia. The leg commences in Melbourne on December 2nd, stops in Sydney on December 3rd, and Brisbane on December 4th to close out the year.

The growth of the internet in the past one, two, or three decades, and even in the past one, two, or three years, has made the amount of music and art we consume as a people skyrocket exponentially. There are artists now that even a few years ago would not have seen one tenth of the success they currently are, because their music is more accessible.  

One place that we have really seen this leap has been with the consumption of international art and media. One OK Rock is a phenomenal example of this.  

A Japanese rock band founded in Tokyo in ’05, One OK Rock has been around for some time, and has made a huge name for themselves internationally in that time. If their countless international accolades don’t attest to that, their draw for a live performance surely does.  

On a frigid Chicago night, One OK Rock has managed to sell out Concord Music Hall, and their crowd of fans, primarily young adults, but a mixture of all ages, wait in a line wrapped around two blocks far before doors open.  

Once they’re inside, the crowd has an anticipation that is just buzzing, and everyone is itching for the show to begin. The band’s openers, both charismatic, and an energetic beginning to a phenomenal night.

Fame on Fire, a cross between pop and metalcore, are a nice introduction to heavier music, and know how to play on the crowd’s energy, without a doubt. Getting everyone riled up, telling them to get on the floor and jump when part of a song kicks in, the whole nine yards – the kind of fun interaction that not a lot of bands have with their audience anymore.  

Following their set, British heartthrobs You Me at Six take the stage, performing a wonderful mix of older tracks and new. Vocalist Josh Franceschi has control of the crowd with his sass-filled remarks and antics, and it is undeniable that the whole band has quite a few years’ experience under their belts.  

After You Me at Six, it becomes clear that the audience’s energy has still been conserved for the band they’re here to see, One OK Rock. Once the lights go out, the roar of the crowd is deafening. One OK Rock takes the stage under golden lights, with vocalist Takahiro Moriuchi beaming, while guitarist and bassist Toru Yamashita and Ryota Kohama play it a bit cooler, and drummer Tomoya Kanki raises his sticks   in greeting to the crowd. They get right into things.

Moriuchi greets the crowd, letting everyone know how excited the band is to be in Chicago, and then egging the crowd on, letting them know they need to be louder, more excited, and ready to move.  

Performing in a mix of Japanese and English, the band is appealing to every fan in the room, and you can see it by the words leaving everyone’s lips as they sing along to every single song.  

Another piece of One OK Rock’s performance that stands out so impressively is that they are so charismatic, it surpasses the norm for their genres of music by a thousand miles. With choreographed dance moves in sync, they have the energy of the Backstreet Boys, but with the jumping and yelling and zooming across the stage at the speed of light, they’re also in the same wheelhouse as bands like State Champs or Pierce the Veil.  

Regardless of any comparison you make, though, they are unlike any other. For the entirety of the night, from tracks like “Vandalize” to a stripped down encore of “Always Coming Back,” they have their crowd captivated, and are very clearly making their night. The twinkle in the eyes of every person on the barricade does not stop for a second, from the moment the lights go up to the moment they go back down. One OK Rock has given them a night to remember, and they will truly never forget it.

Combining electro-pop, pop rock riffs, melody, and driving drums, the outfit is known for high-energy shows featuring pyrotechnic spectacles and retina-burning light effects. But don't pigeonhole them, they recently wrapped a tour of Japan where they were accompanied by a full orchestra at each stop!
