Planning a trip can be easier through an online travel agency than if you handle each aspect of the planning separately. You can book hotels, air travel, rental cars, and more through a single site, and booking everything together sometimes results in discounts. By inputting a destination, a range of dates, and other preferences, you will see a list of options for each aspect of travel.

The best online travel agencies offer options from the largest number of airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, and more. Look for sites that offer discounts for combining reservations for different aspects of your trip. For example, the best sites will have lower rates if you book both plane tickets and a hotel through their services. The best sites also provide reviews from customers who actually have booked through the service. These are our top picks.

Final Verdict

Frequently asked questions, methodology, best overall : booking.com.

 Booking.com

This industry leader offers one of the most comprehensive trip planning platforms on the Internet.

Lots of options to choose from

Interface is easy to use

Numerous filters to customize your search

Tricky to tell whether changes/cancellations can be made with Booking.com or the vendor directly

Booking.com was founded in 1996 and has grown into an industry leader that stands out for being one of the most comprehensive trip planning platforms out there. From one website, you can compare and book accommodations, flights (including one-way and multi-city flights), sightseeing activities, and even airport taxis. The website lists more than 28 million accommodation options, from hotels, hostels, and B&Bs to vacation homes and luxury resorts—you can browse more choices per destination on Booking.com than other online travel agencies. The website also performs well on cost and typically returns lower-than-average prices for flights and hotels.

Booking.com's interface is also easy to use. On the home page, search for a hotel by entering your chosen destination and dates. Then, use the extensive list of filters—such as price range and distance from the city center—to narrow the results down and find the best fit. You can also search for a specific hotel, or seek inspiration by clicking through options grouped by destination or property type or by topic such as the country’s best Michelin-starred hotel restaurants or the top cities for vegan travelers. The flights, car rental, and other tabs are just as intuitive.

Best Budget : Skyscanner

 Skyscanner

You can compare prices across airlines, hotels, and car rentals.

Simple interface

Option to toggle searches between specific dates or by monthly calendars

Search Everywhere button is great for spontaneous planners

Extra clicks are required to make a final purchase

Must read fine print for changes/cancellations—may need to deal directly with the vendor

Ads on the sidebar can be distracting

Find deals on airfare, hotels, and car rentals with an aggregator site like Skyscanner , which uses a metasearch engine to compare prices from all online travel agencies and the airline, hotel, or car rental company in question. Run searches with fixed dates, opt to compare airfare prices month to month, or click “Cheapest Month.” Searches also include options for nearby airports or non-stop flights only. With hotel searches, you can choose to select only from properties with free cancellation, a cleanliness rating of 4.5/5 or higher, or 3- or 4-starred hotels only. Car rental searches include an option to select “return car to different location.”

Once you’ve found the best rate, click on the link to be redirected to the third-party site to make your booking. Feeling spontaneous? The Search Everywhere button on the homepage offers a list of the cheapest flight deals for destinations both locally and across the world—just plug in your departure airport first.

Best Price Predictor : Hopper

The company claims a 95 percent accuracy rate at predicting when flights and hotel rates will be cheapest.

Color-coded system makes it easy to determine cheapest days to buy

App is easy to use

Option to track flights and receive alerts when the best time to buy arises

Some have mentioned the app functions better as a research tool than a booking tool

Unclear whether Hopper will price match if you find a cheaper flight elsewhere

Hopper is a travel app available on iOS and Android that aims to help travelers save on airfare by usng historical data and their own algorithm to predict when flights will be cheapest. Just type in where and when you’d like to fly and Hopper will present you with a color-coded pricing calendar indicating how much tickets are likely to cost. (Green is the least expensive, then yellow, orange, and red for most expensive.) Hopper will also recommend you either buy now or wait, or you can choose to watch a trip and receive notifications on the best time to buy. In addition, the app has expanded to offer hotel and car rental price predictions, too.

Some newer features since the app’s inception in 2009 include an option to freeze a price for a limited time—for an extra fee—as well as exclusive app-only discounts. Hopper is free to download, and you can choose to book directly through the app, though some users mentioned they use Hopper as more of a research tool before booking directly with the airline or hotel. The company claims a 95 percent accuracy rate at predicting flight rates up to a year ahead.

Most Innovative : Kiwi.com

This metasearch engine scours the web to piece together the ideal itinerary using planes, trains, buses, and more.

Creative itineraries get you where you need to go, especially if you’ve got a multi-stop trip

Kiwi Guarantee offers rebooking or cancellation protections

Nomad option appeals to travelers with a lot of flexibility

Creative itineraries mean you may not fly out of the same airport you flew into

Kiwi Guarantee has an additional fee

Charges all-in-one fee for booking flights, trains, buses (though you can always purchase a la carte)

Travelers planning multi-city destinations and seeking a bargain, as well as those looking to take planes, trains, and automobiles to get there, might consider Kiwi . Kiwi is a metasearch engine that scours and pieces together itineraries from various airlines (even if they don’t have a codeshare agreement), considers multiple airports (even if your arrival airport is different from departure), and offers booking options, whether you’re looking at very specific dates or more general ones (up to 60 nights).

Some will find the ability to make multiple bookings for a particular trip more convenient than going at it manually several different times, though note that you must opt into the Kiwi Guarantee program to access rebooking and refund protections should your reservation change or be canceled. Kiwi’s Nomad option allows you to plug in a bunch of destinations you’d like to visit and the length of your intended stay, and the website will churn out the most affordable itineraries for review.

Best for Eco-Conscious : Kind Traveler

A give-and-get business model means booking accommodations with exclusive perks, a donation to environmental organizations, and more.

All participating hotels include a local give-back component

Exclusive savings and perks

Participating hotels are located in some of the most beautiful places in the world

Inventory is much smaller compared to other booking platforms

Some of the amenities mentioned are based on availability only

In 2022, Kind Traveler (an online trave agency focused on hotel bookings) announced an increase in environmentally and socially conscious hotels, charity donations, voluntourism opportunities, and additional perks like waived resort fees or a welcome amenity.

Unlock exclusive hotel rates and perks from participating Kind Traveler hotels with a minimum $10/night minimum donation to a local charity. For example, stay at the Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives and receive up to $33 off the nightly rate and perks such as a food and beverage credit and an Earth Lab or Alchemy Bar workshop when you make a donation to Manta Trust. The organization funds coastal research to protect the island nation’s large yet fragile population of reef mantas.

Select from more than 140 participating hotels from the Hawaiian Islands to Bozeman, Montana, and the Maldives. Charities include wildlife, human rights, arts, education, and environmental preservation organizations.

Best for Social Impact : I Like Local

Choose from a host of travel experiences with the peace of mind that 100 percent of the cost goes directly to local partners.

Social impact mission woven into organization’s business model

Immersive experiences led by local guides

Range of experiences offered

May not be best fit for those seeking upscale, luxury experiences and stays

Can’t sort experiences by a list of countries (though an interactive map is available)

No experiences outside of Africa and Asia

For an online travel agency with a booking platform designed to route dollars spent directly to the communities travelers intend to visit, consider I Like Local . Visit the website to browse a host of travel experiences in countries including Indonesia, Kenya, and Cambodia. Experiences include homestays and farmstays as well as wellness and culturally oriented experiences—from cooking and cycling tours to weaving classes.

To search for an experience, select from drop-down items like travel dates and experience categories, or view a global map and click on a country to view experiences that way.

The platform got its start in 2014 and has grown to 4,000 local hosts across nearly 20 countries. As a social impact organization, 100 percent of each booking fee goes to local hosts. To date, 16,000 travelers have booked with I Like Local.

Best for Design-Forward Homestays : Plum Guide

Browse and book seriously vetted, design-forward vacation homes.

Highly curated inventory of vacation rentals across the world

Design-forward

Thorough vetting process

Does not publish guest reviews

Other platforms have homes available across more destinations

When it comes to booking a vacation home, serviced apartment, or condo, travelers are spoiled for choice. Plum Guide is an online travel agency that specializes in accommodations—though not just any home makes its directory. The company claims that each potential home listed on its site must jump through 150 hoops to be included, from internet speed and mattress and pillow quality to the showers’ water pressure and the home’s proximity to dining, shopping, and attractions.

Search by a featured collection on the website such as “ pet-friendly homes ” or “one-of-a-kind homes in Palm Springs.” Scroll to the bottom of its homepage to view its top destinations, as well as a list of all destinations where Plum Guide homes are available, including Barbados, Mexico, Portugal, Switzerland, the U.S., and Turkey. Note: From the top right-hand corner of the site, use the dropdown menu to select currency of choice.

As long as you know what you value most out of your travel experience—such as affordability, social impact, or luxe accommodations—there’s an online travel agency to help plan your next trip. Be sure to read the fine print, as some agencies are third-party websites and not direct vendors. If you're not sure where to start, Booking.com is your best bet for a smooth user experience and hard-to-beat offers on flights, hotels, and other travel arrangements.

What Is the Biggest Travel Agency?

Our choice for best overall, Booking.com, is known as an industry leader with listings for all major hotels, airlines, car rental companies, and more. It boasts more choices for accommodations per destination than any other site, and we found its interface to be user-friendly.

Are Online Travel Agencies Worth It?

This depends on your needs and priorities. The best online travel agencies certainly can save time by booking everything all at once. However, if you're someone who is good at haggling and enjoys the details of planning a trip, you might be able to find better deals by reaching out to hotels or other destinations and speaking to someone personally.

Is It Cheaper to Book Online Than With a Travel Agent?

Not always. A travel agent you know and trust should have the experience and connections to find deals that can match or surpass what you'll find online. Additionally, if something goes wrong, travel agents provide you with an actual person you can use as an advocate to correct the problem . But if you don't have access to a good travel agent, online sites still provide plenty of ways to streamline planning and save money .

We considered dozens of online travel agencies and narrowed down the options based on user experience, volume and quality of inventory, unique offerings and specials, and customer reviews. We also assessed travel companies’ environmentally and socially conscious policies.

Super Travel offers nice discounts but keep an eye out for cancellation deadlines. That said, I had a great experience with their customer support. Due to unusual circumstances, my husband and I needed to cancel our hotel reservation with them. It was past the deadline, but I explained our situation and they accommodated us with cancelation. I really appreciated this! Thank you, Super Travel for this courtesy. (P.S. I put four out of five because I was on hold for an hour and a half. It was worth it for me to request cancelation. But they really should hire more customer service agents.)

My husband and I used Super.com to book the Riata Inn, a dog friendly hotel, in Marfa, TX. We drove 10 hours to get to this hotel. When we finally arrived and went to the front desk to check in, we were asked if that was a Doberman in our vehicle. After confirming that it was, she pointed to a typed up sign on their counter with a long list of dog breed restrictions. After being turned away, I called Super.com. They explained I had booked a non refundable reservation and they would not be able to give me a refund. I explained that we were not cancelling, but we were refused accommodations because of our dog. No where on the hotels website or Super.com's booking did it list the breed restrictions. We had to drive another 30 minutes to find other accommodations. We would not book through them again!

This company is a COMPLETE SCAM!!!!! You would think you're getting a deal and you're really not. I don't know who is in charge but the BBB better look into them. I booked a family vacation with them for my daughter's 6th birthday. My mom who was also supposed to join us on the trip DIED. YUP. SHE DIED. The day before my daughter's birthday. Trip was cancelled immediately. I called them and informed them. I sent all the necessary documents they asked me for. They said they would make the exception due to my mother passing. It's been a month. I've been calling because that money needed to go towards the funeral my siblings and I had to pay for. I told every worker I spoke to the situation and they all said the same thing. They will informed the department in charge of that. So I said okay. Can you transfer me through to that department. The person kept avoiding the question. But I think they are trained to avoid the question because this happened on many occasions. The first 3 or 4 people I spoke to said my refund should be here in 3-5 business days. Call back if you don't receive it. So I called back because I didn't receive it. Then they told me that I had to wait 14 business days. Until they make a decision. Then they said they gotta double check. I will be taking them to court and getting a lawyer because this is crazyyyyyyyyyy. It's been a MONTH!!!! Do not use this company AT ALL. Spend the necessary money you have to for happiness. Because this company ain't it!!!!

We have traveled all over the world and NEVER had such a bad experience. A trip to Africa is TAINTED by the hotel reservations we arranged thru SUPER (NOT). Had the insurance for cancellation and with a need to cancel conveyed to them MONTHS in advance and promise by one of their representatives to correct - they are now keeping the $900 from us they said would NOT be charged. When we tried to tell them we would keep the reservations they lied and said the rooms weren't available. THEY DID THIS TO KEEP THE $900 AND DO NOTHING FOR IT. Never had to write one of these but people should be warned, Found out they change their company name and wonder how long before they change again. Also they are known for not having a reservation for you when you arrive.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Booked a hotel room thru them a week ago. "Saved" maybe 6 or 7 bucks over what other sites were charging....and THEN everything went to hell. The next thing I know, about a week later I'm getting calls from my credit card's fraud department about them making REPEATED $14.99 charges to my card. Tried to get hold of them to ask WTF was up with these, but they make it basically impossible to actually speak to someone. I finally get hold of someone thru their "chat" feature and they tell me that the $14.99 charges were MONTHLY charges for their "Super + membership", something I NEVER heard of or signed up for. NOWHERE on their site does it say ANYWHERE that booking thru them automatically signed you up for this crap or that you were authorizing additional charges. Took forever to get this all reversed, and it forced me to cancel my credit card and get a new one issued. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Photo of Kienyisha C.

I will give them a zero. This is a scam. i got double booked, and they won't refund the money. I'm trying to get the address so i can report them to bbb.

Photo of Wes W.

DONT DO IT!!!!!! paid for a reservation. Hotel never received the confirmation. Hotel confirmed that all information I received from Super was accurate to location and date but couldn't check me in because they never received anything themself. Super will not refund my payment.

Photo of Rich J.

SuperTravel is a SCAM. I have booked hundreds of hotel reservations in my life and SuperTravel will take your money but not send your reservation to the hotel in a timely manner. I booked a $2,000+ condo in Cabo and 6 weeks later, the reservation was not in the condo's system. SuperTravel told me to just wait and they would send it closer to the reservation date. That's completely bogus. STAY AWAY.

Photo of Mike S.

BEWARE OF BOOKING WITH SUPER.COM--They make you pay in advance and the hotels don't honor the reservation. I booked a room for July 8-9, 2023 at Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach in Carlsbad CA through Super.com. Upon arrival, I was told by the manager the hotel does not receive the bookings from Super and that this has been communicated to Super on multiple occasions. I was forced to book a room with the hotel on my own at a much higher rate, and at my own expense, even though I had already paid Super for the reservation. I did so at the same hotel. I called customer service and was told I would be reimbursed for the charges 3-5 days by emailing the receipt from the hotel for the charges I incurred. I did so the night my stay ended. After receiving no response, I followed up by email again... only to be told that the "hotel partner" indicated I was a "no show" and I would not be reimbursed (The receipt I provided was for the SAME HOTEL I BOOKED WITH SUPER.COM). I called again and was told that the decision was based upon the "Hilton Orlando" indicating I was a "no show", a hotel more than 3,000 miles away from the hotel I booked. I have called 4 times over the last week. Each time I was told I would be called back within 45 minutes by someone who could help me. NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME! NO ONE HAS REIMBURSED ME!!! Aren't there laws against charging people for services that are not provided?

Fischer Travel Club Uluru

It’s official: Internet booking sites are the worst. Which means travel agents are back in a big way, to such a degree that the crème de la crème among them are so selective that they’ll work with only a small group of card-carrying members.

We talked to the top dogs at four very different membership travel companies to find out what kind of VIP hook ups they’ll get you—and how much hand-holding you can expect along the way.

Fischer Travel

The Gist: Founded almost 54 years ago by her father, Bill Fischer—who got his clients into sold-out spots like the Hotel du Cap in Antibes in the ’80s—this family-run business is as exclusive as a club gets. “We have a very serious vetting process,” says Fischer Rosenthal.

The Membership: You might want to sit down for this: a $100,000 initiation fee, plus an annual $25,000 renewal fee, plus service fees for all trip planning. And that’s only if you’re accepted. Right now, Fischer has just 175 members.

The Claim to Fame: One-on-one tennis lessons with John McEnroe, a private tour of the Egyptian pyramids, Christmas dinner cooked by a Michelin-starred chef—you name it, Fischer Rosenthal can do it. If she told us her team could move mountains, we’d almost believe her.

Hand-Holding Quotient: Next-level. “My clients will never check in at a front desk, they will never fill out any forms, they will never have a moment when their trip isn’t absolutely seamless.”

Essentialist

Essentialist Travel Club Iceland

Source: Joan Roca, founder

The Gist: Former Travelocity exec Roca ditched digital and went private bespoke in 2017 after realizing travelers didn’t need more choice—they needed more curation. His cabal of experts includes more than 75 journalists and editors specializing in various destinations around the world.

The Membership: A flat fee of $1,400 per household per year includes unlimited travel-planning services by a designated “travel designer” who knows everything about you, from what you like to eat to what you like to drive.

The Claim to Fame: Ultra-insider experiences are the name of Roca’s game, whether it’s the best paella in Majorca at a secret restaurant few locals know or a private dinner in a Venetian palazzo. “It’s not about the price tag,” he says. “It’s about discovering things that are under the radar and unique.”

Hand-Holding Quotient: Minimal. “Our client doesn’t require a lot of hand-holding,” Roca says. “They don’t want people standing at the door of their hotel room every morning. They just want to go.”

Marchay Travel Club

Courtesy of Marchay

Source:  Karl Backlund, cofounder

The Gist: With partner Jon Ein of private equity firm Foundry Capital, Backlund devised not an agency but a “travel community of like-minded individuals,” in which pay-for-play travel agents wouldn’t be welcome.

The Membership: $4,500 for a full annual membership with unlimited bespoke trip planning , or $1,750 for a one-trip planning fee. “We admit limited members to make sure the service standards are maintained,” Backlund says.

The Claim to Fame: Seamless execution of even the most complicated itineraries, whether it’s an island-hopping extravaganza in the Caribbean via private jet and yacht or a Scottish golf spree with 11 tee times in 11 days.

Hand-Holding Quotient: That’s up to you. “Our clients appreciate a significant portion of discovery—the thirst for exploration is definitely there,” Backlund says. But he’ll still hold your hand if you ask.

Inspirato Pass

Rose Hall Half Moon Iris

Source:  Brent Handler, founder

The Gist: Handler is like the Thomas Edison of travel clubs . He invented the destination club with Exclusive Resorts in 2002, then went on to create Inspirato , a similar but more affordable club in 2011. The Inspirato Pass , his latest brainchild, is a subscription app.

The Membership: $2,500 per month gets you household booking rights to exclusive trips, events and accommodations—all at no added cost. The catch? After booking a trip, you have to take it before you can reserve another.

The Claim to Fame: There’s the usual hotel suites and over-the-top villas, but what gets really interesting is Inspirato Pass ’s access to marquee events and experiences, from US Open seats to a European river cruise.

Hand-Holding Quotient: Surprisingly high, for an app. “All Inspirato Pass trips include pre-trip planning by our expert travel designers, including custom itineraries,” says Handler. Impressive.

What reviewers want you to know

Positive highlights.

  • I literally chose to purchase from the travel site that had the least expensive price for our desired hotel room .
  • Front desk great, room and beds fine, nice breakfast, good shuttle trip.

Critical highlights

  • Not sure why they call that chat department " customer service " because they provided zero service.
  • What would've happened if we didn't have another credit card with another thousand dollars on it?

“It perfectly worked for us!”

We booked one week in advance a 5 star hotel (Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve) in Puerto Rico for a very reasonable price. We booked a King bed with a garden view, but upon arrival got a little downgraded king-bed room. After showing at the reception what kind of room we booked, they had no problem changing it for us a few moments later. Long story short, we got a very good deal, but also because the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Also, we weren't charged anything extra upon arrival.

“Unhelpful and horrible customer service”

I booked a room and immediately noticed a typo on the confirmation. I called the hotel and they said they would gladly fix the issue if super.com contacted them. Super.com refused to do so. When dealing with them on their chat they (melodyn) just kept sending the same template message over and over. I will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know about the horrible customer service

I recently had the pleasure of booking through Super.com, and I must say, their deals are unparalleled. The ease of use of their platform made the entire process a breeze. From browsing to booking, everything was straightforward and intuitive. What truly sets Super.com apart is their incredible deals. I scoured various platforms, but none could match the discounts and offers available on Super.com. Another aspect that impressed me was their excellent communication. I received multiple reminders of my booking via text and email, ensuring that I was always informed and up-to-date. This level of attention to detail speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. Moreover, their customer service team was exceptional. Whenever I had a query or needed assistance, they were prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. It's evident that they prioritize customer satisfaction and go above and beyond to ensure a seamless experience. Overall, my experience with Super.com exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for great deals coupled with unparalleled ease of use and outstanding customer service, I highly recommend giving Super.com a try.

Can you share a success story using snaptravel?

They are a horrible company and with horrible customer service. They talk down to you and even when their website is wrong and they book your room different than what you picked online, they refuse to help you fix it. They threaten you with nonrefundable and if the hotel wants them to call and cancel they will not. They ask for a written letter from the hotel. Really the worst travel site around. You think you are saving money and you truly are not, you are not getting what you think you paid for and then they have the nerve to ask for a huge tip because they tried to help save you money.

Booking number b_11565655. the date should be oct 28/23-29/23

The question the answer is if you use this company and one little thing goes wrong you can say goodbye to your money. My train canceled the hotel didn't get any money I didn't get any money back and super.com has a secret partner that gets the money but they won't tell you who they are

How do i verify my reservation

Both motels were okay with changing the reservation that was wrong we made in Arizona to putting the reservation to the motel in Lewiston Idaho but these idiots wouldn't help and switch it kept my $75 and I didn't get a room when I asked to speak to the supervisor or higher up manager they refused and hung up on

I cannot accept refund fee.

I do not understand, is this a question. They more than likely wont refund anyone. They pretty much refuse to refund anyone and this Travel Booking site asks for TIPS.

We booked a hotel reservation through super.com. #b-13548294. we received a notice from the hotel that our reservation has been cancelled.

How to cancel online subscription fee, i've never used your services and you're trying to take 15 from me please stop, super.s am has a secret partner. not the hotel. this secret partner keeps your money. i have read so many reviews where people showed at hotel, there, can’t see your question ask to get answers from the super.com staff and other customers..

The 2024 WOW List: 96 Top Local Fixers in Countries Worldwide

super travel agency

The WOW List is a collection of exceptionally knowledgeable and well-connected trip planners around the world. They have been rigorously road-tested, based on my decades of experience as a travel journalist and based on the latest trip reviews from travelers who used my WOW approach to ensure an extraordinary trip. In 2023 they quickly found solutions to the travel complications and disruption that arose: They rerouted travelers away from wildfires and floods, kept them cool and comfy amid extreme heat, helped them bypass unprecedented tourist crowds and lines, restored whole days of sightseeing missed because of flight cancellations, and lessened the impact of hotels’ sky-high prices, understaffing, and skimpflation. We know they did this because of your trip reviews . We continue to monitor trips and update The WOW List in real time.

HOW TO GET A WOW TRIP 1. Find the right local fixer for your needs below. 2. Click their CONTACT button and share the details of your dream trip via my questionnaire. 3. Done! The local expert will reach out to you directly and quickly.

START WITH MY QUESTIONNAIRE • That’s how you get VIP treatment and these WOW benefits . • It’s how the WOW Lister knows that I sent you and that you will be reviewing your trip. Your trip reviews determine who remains on The WOW List. • It’s the only way I can advise you and monitor your trip from the most important moment—the conception and initial design. • It’s the only way your trip will count toward a WOW Moment .

WOW TRIP COSTS AND STYLE What these local fixers do is custom-tailor a private itinerary exactly to your trip goals and travel style, get you special access to iconic sights, and mastermind all the trip logistics so that you don’t have to. Trips start at about $10K to $15K, depending on your destination and timing.

Japan Japanese society relies heavily on personal connections to unlock doors. Japan is also bracingly expensive, with many of the loveliest ryokans and guest houses costing upwards of $1,000 per night (although that does include an extravagant dinner). And because the number of savvy guides with exceptional access is limited, they can command high fees. If you are seeking the right bespoke trip-planning specialist who can deliver the best that Japan has to offer, we can point you toward your smartest options.

Greece Certain Greek islands, especially those visited by cruise ships, can be a mosh pit in high season, and the logistics of getting between islands can be surprisingly complicated. The right expert can steer you to the most reliable ferry operators, ensure there’s a taxi to pick you up at the pier, even arrange for private boat rides to secret islands. There are hundreds of Greek islands to choose from, of course—each with its own unique character—and the right expert can design an itinerary with just the right combo of ancient history, modern culture, near-empty beaches, sleepy villages, pulsating nightlife, or whatever it is that you want most. Iceland Iceland has awesome landscapes and unusual adventure activities, from volcano diving to geothermal-pool hopping. But it is surprisingly expensive, and soaring tourism has caused demand—for accommodations, activities, all-terrain vehicles, glacier adventure guides, etc.—to outpace supply, driving prices even higher. What’s more, the country’s tourism infrastructure is geared to mass-market group tours. First experience with Super.com

We made a reservation for our vacation trip next month. The web site worked perfectly and contained all the information we needed. The selection and booking procedure was smooth and easy. We have no experience with the hotel we booked, yet. We trust it will be fine. Alexander Nientker The Netherlands

Best hotel rates on the internet!!!

Best hotel rates on the internet!!! My search site automatically compares numerous vendors, including Expedia, Priceline, Orbitz, etc. Two nights in a row, Super.com beat them ALL! Super.com site is intuitive, and booking was easy.

The room I stayed was 320 clean and comfortable. The staff is nice and approachable whenever I need something. The only thing I don’t like is the breakfast that is so poor in menu, no meat and every day is the same bread in different style. Overall, the experience was good with a decent price. Secure and free Parking.

Great and simple check in!! No additional hidden charges or mandatory credit card for deposit. Cash accepted for deposit . I've used other places and lost my purchase because I didn't have an additional credit card to use for deposit. Therefore losing my online purchase. Not a problem with your services. Thank you!

My son was going to prom in a city an hour away and I’m a deliver Driver so I decided to stay the night! I found a room on super.com at a reasonable rate for the night the same day the room was great the staff was great the pre prom party was great my son was happy I made it in all my super.com experience was awesome!

Beds are comfortable and the showers have great pressure….love that! We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and the food was excellent. Recommend the brisket street tacos. Bar server was on top of her game! All of the staff were extremely friendly & helpful. It is a business that still trains on customer service which is a rarity these days. Hotel could use a bit of an update and new carpet throughout the hallways but all in all would stay there again. Thank you for the great service!

DISGUSTING company

DISGUSTING company. They charge $15/month to transfer you countless times to people who provide copy and pasted answers and they also steal money from customers. I have $75 of credits sitting in my super.com account that I cannot transfer to my bank account because I supposedly do not qualify for a “Super Pay Card”. That’s just theft that doesn’t come off that way to someone who doesn’t know fact from fiction. Go read the rest of the reviews about how they screw customers out of money everyday. There’s plenty of them out there

Hi Michelle, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable to us, as it guides our continual improvement and growth We want to let you know that our Super+ membership does come with various benefits, including Cash Advance, Credit building, and up to 10% Cashback on travel. BEWARE!! I couldn't put money on the card & although it shows a membership price & a higher non member price every time I tried to click membership price I was still charged the higher price. Then had to call customer service to cancel my membership. It stays you can cancel online but you can't. When you click cancel membership a Windows popped up that states you have to call in order to cancel. When I called I waited on hold for over 15 min B4 anyone came to the phone.

Company features a cashback option if…

Company features a cashback option if you sign up for a membership (automatically enrolled after 7 days at $14.99 per month), but the so-called "cashback" appears to be some kind of future credit redeemable a month later. It's not a discount of the actual price, so it's misrepresented on the site to consumers.

Date of experience : April 30, 2024

Take Care - Additional Charges not signed up for

Similarly to another contributor, I simply booked a room in Greece for November and Super.com provided a good price. I booked and paid upfront (which in itself gives the company a good earning opportunity). Some days later there was a 15 dollar deduction (£11.97) from my bank account which I had investigated and between my bank and I we discovered it relates to Super+ aspect of the Super.com company, which I did not sign up when booking the room. Trying to get through to any form of making an enquiry or complaint on their website is typically difficult but I shall succeed one way or the other and they may lose my booking if they do not respond and I will have their attempt to take any monthly charges from account blocked (legally) by my bank.

Hi Mark, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It seems there might have been a misunderstanding regarding your sign-up for the Super+ membership, as our process requires explicit consent from our users. You have full control, and canceling your membership is straightforward. The membership does come with various benefits, including Cash Advance, Credit building, and up to 10% Cashback on travel. However, if you've decided not to continue with the membership, we are more than willing to process a refund, as our primary goal is to ensure our customers' satisfaction. We made the reservation the day before

We made the reservation the day before, Called the hotel immediately to make sure they received our reservation. Yes they did. We had absolutely no problem checking in and the savings were considerable. So, we just booked the next night through them. Please be aware - It is a prepaid, non-refundable reservation through this site. They are upfront about that.

Date of experience : April 22, 2024

Fast, Easy and cheap

I went on a price comparison website and the lowest cost for the room I wanted was Super.com. It was very easy. I did it on my IPhone on an airplane that had just landed and was taxiing to the terminal. It was fast, it was easy, and it had the lowest price.

Flawless Experience

I paid for an 8 night stay through Super.com for a hotel that I had previously stayed in. It was so much cheaper this time booking through Super.com that I even wondered if it was a scam so I contacted the hotel directly and they instantly confirmed my booking was legitimate. All I had to do was print off my holiday voucher and hand it in to the hotel reception on arrival and I received the exact same service and standard of room that I received when I booked directly through the hotel. Using Super.com is a no brainer as they were efficient with great communication and saved me a bundle of money. What's not to like???

Date of experience : April 24, 2024

Great experience

I was a bit skeptical to use this company as the prices were so great but everything was awesome We got a great price for the Waldorf Las Vegas and were very happy The ease of booking and great communication was wonderful and I would absolutely not hesitate to use this company again for future bookings

Date of experience : May 05, 2024

It was ok. I appreciate they didn't use the usual trick, that other travel webpages use, where they change a detail of the traveler's data, they force them to go back and when they fill correctly their data, they say that the offer has expired and you have to pay much more!

Nice hotel clean, helpful, houskeeping , location , every thing was amazing. Super give me best price thanks

Date of experience : April 25, 2024

It is my first time booking with Super. Affordable $.

I had a reservation for Lethbridge Ab…my reservation # was B_13369293 this is my e mail

I had a reservation for Lethbridge Ab and had a car accident and am in hospital so when I tried to cancel my reservation their policy is deadline is 3 days before. Brutal brutal BS I will Never book with them again! Absolute rubbish. Brutal policy I’ll be sending many bad reviews please book your selves these guys Suck big time

Hi Kevin, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope for your speedy recovery. Please note that when booking a flexible rate, you are entitled to a full refund if you cancel within the grace period. We've checked our records and see that your reservation was only fully refundable until April 30, 2024, at 11:59PM hotel local time. After this period, your reservation will be considered a non-refundable booking, which limits our ability to modify or cancel it without the hotel's approval. Exceptions to this policy can only be made if the accommodation itself agrees to amend the reservation. If you have engaged in any direct communication with the accommodation, through written correspondence, kindly ensure that you gather all relevant details, including the staff member's name and position who approved your request. Once you have received approval, please initiate a cancellation, by visiting: go.super.com/amend and following the prompts. We trust this clarifies matters for you.

Is Super Saver Travel Legit? An In-Depth Investigation

super travel agency

With temptingly low prices for flights, hotels, and vacation packages, Super Saver Travel raises the question: is this too good to be true? We investigate whether Super Saver Travel is a scam or a legitimate discount travel site.

If you don’t have time for the full investigation, the short answer is: Super Saver Travel is a legitimate discount travel agency, but you need to read the fine print to avoid hidden fees or subpar components of vacation packages.

What is Super Saver Travel?

Super Saver Travel is a travel agency that offers discounted travel packages and deals to customers. With a mission to provide affordable and convenient travel options, Super Saver Travel aims to help individuals and families explore the world without breaking the bank.

Brief background and services offered

Founded in 2010, Super Saver Travel has quickly gained a reputation for offering competitive prices and excellent customer service. The agency partners with various airlines, hotels, and car rental companies to negotiate exclusive deals and pass on the savings to their customers.

Super Saver Travel offers a wide range of services to cater to different travel needs. They provide flight bookings, hotel reservations, car rentals, and even complete vacation packages that include multiple destinations and activities.

Customers can choose from a variety of options and customize their travel plans according to their preferences and budget.

One of the key features that sets Super Saver Travel apart is their user-friendly website and mobile app. Customers can easily search for flights, compare prices, and make bookings online, saving them time and effort.

The company also has a dedicated customer support team that is available 24/7 to assist with any inquiries or issues that may arise during the travel planning process.

Super Saver Travel has received positive reviews from many satisfied customers who have praised the agency for their affordable prices, reliable service, and hassle-free booking experience. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and focus on providing value for money has made them a popular choice among travelers looking to save on their travel expenses.

For more information about Super Saver Travel and their services, you can visit their official website at www.supersavertravel.com .

Legitimacy and Reputation

Years in business.

Super Saver Travel has been serving customers for over a decade, establishing a solid reputation in the travel industry. With their extensive experience, they have built strong relationships with airlines, hotels, and other travel partners, allowing them to offer competitive deals and discounts to their customers.

BBB rating and reviews

When it comes to evaluating the legitimacy of a business, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a reliable source. Super Saver Travel is proud to have an A+ rating from the BBB, indicating their commitment to customer satisfaction and ethical business practices.

They have resolved any customer complaints promptly and efficiently, maintaining a positive track record with the BBB.

Furthermore, customer reviews on the BBB website also reflect the legitimacy of Super Saver Travel. Numerous satisfied customers have shared their positive experiences, praising the company for their excellent customer service, competitive prices, and hassle-free booking process.

Online reviews

Aside from the BBB, online review platforms such as Trustpilot and TripAdvisor also provide insights into Super Saver Travel’s reputation. On Trustpilot, Super Saver Travel has garnered an impressive average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, based on thousands of customer reviews.

Customers have highlighted the company’s reliability, transparency, and ability to deliver on their promises.

Similarly, on TripAdvisor, Super Saver Travel has received positive feedback from travelers who have booked their trips through the platform. With an overall rating of 4.4 stars out of 5, customers have praised Super Saver Travel for their exceptional customer service, competitive prices, and seamless booking process.

It’s important to note that while there may be a few negative reviews, it’s common for any business to have a small percentage of dissatisfied customers. However, the overwhelmingly positive reviews and high ratings indicate that Super Saver Travel is a legitimate and reputable company.

Pricing and Sales Tactics

Too good to be true prices.

One of the main concerns when it comes to online travel agencies is whether the prices they offer are too good to be true. With Super Saver Travel, you might be pleasantly surprised to find that their prices can indeed be lower than what you would typically find on other travel websites.

This is made possible through their partnerships with various airlines, hotels, and car rental companies, allowing them to negotiate exclusive deals and pass on the savings to their customers.

However, it is important to note that while Super Saver Travel strives to provide competitive prices, there may be certain factors that affect the final cost. These can include the time of year, availability, and demand for specific destinations or accommodations.

It’s always advisable to compare prices across different platforms and do your research to ensure you’re getting the best deal possible.

Hidden fees or catches

When it comes to hidden fees or catches, Super Saver Travel takes pride in its transparent pricing policy. They strive to provide customers with all the necessary information upfront, so there are no surprises when it’s time to make a payment.

It’s worth noting that some additional fees, such as baggage fees or resort fees, may not be included in the initial price displayed on the website. These fees are typically charged by the airlines or hotels directly and may vary depending on the specific travel itinerary.

Super Saver Travel does its best to inform customers about these potential extra costs during the booking process, but it’s always a good idea to double-check with the airline or hotel before finalizing your reservation.

Quality of Flights, Hotels and Services

When it comes to booking travel, the quality of flights, hotels, and services is of utmost importance. Travelers want to ensure that they are getting the best value for their money and that the experience will be enjoyable and hassle-free.

In this section, we will take a closer look at the quality of flights, hotels, and services offered by Super Saver Travel.

Fine print on vacation packages

One aspect to consider when booking with Super Saver Travel is the fine print on their vacation packages. It is important for travelers to carefully read through the terms and conditions to understand what is included in the package.

Super Saver Travel provides detailed information about the flights, hotels, and services included in each package, giving travelers a clear understanding of what to expect.

For example, if you are booking a vacation package that includes a flight and hotel stay, Super Saver Travel will specify the airline, departure times, and layovers, as well as the hotel name, room type, and amenities.

This transparency allows travelers to make an informed decision and ensures that there are no surprises upon arrival.

Additionally, Super Saver Travel provides information about any additional fees or charges that may apply, such as resort fees, baggage fees, or cancellation policies. This level of transparency helps travelers plan their budget accordingly and avoid any unexpected expenses.

Traveler experiences

Another way to assess the quality of Super Saver Travel’s flights, hotels, and services is by looking at traveler experiences. Online reviews and testimonials provide valuable insights into the customer experience and can help potential travelers gauge the level of satisfaction with Super Saver Travel.

Many travelers have reported positive experiences when booking with Super Saver Travel. They praise the company for offering competitive prices and excellent customer service. Some have mentioned that the flights were comfortable, the hotels were clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

However, it is important to note that there may be a few negative reviews as well. It is not uncommon for travelers to encounter issues during their trips, such as flight delays or hotel room discrepancies.

In such cases, Super Saver Travel has a dedicated customer support team that works diligently to resolve any issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

For more information on Super Saver Travel and to read reviews from other travelers, you can visit their website at www.supersavertravel.com .

Cancellation and Refund Policies

Ease of cancellations/changes.

Super Saver Travel understands that sometimes travel plans need to be altered or canceled. They strive to provide their customers with flexible options when it comes to cancellations and changes. Customers can easily modify or cancel their bookings through their user-friendly online platform or by contacting their customer service representatives.

This ensures a hassle-free experience for travelers who may need to make last-minute adjustments to their itineraries.

Moreover, Super Saver Travel has partnerships with various airlines, hotels, and car rental companies, allowing them to negotiate favorable cancellation and change policies on behalf of their customers.

This means that customers may have more flexibility in terms of cancellations and changes compared to booking directly with the service providers.

Refund restrictions

While Super Saver Travel aims to provide its customers with the best possible refund policies, it’s important to note that refund restrictions may vary depending on the type of booking, travel provider, and fare rules. In some cases, non-refundable bookings may not be eligible for a refund.

Super Saver Travel encourages customers to carefully review the refund policies of their specific bookings before making any changes or cancellations. They provide detailed information regarding refund eligibility and any associated fees on their website.

It’s recommended that customers reach out to their customer service team for further assistance and clarification if needed.

It’s worth mentioning that refund policies can also be influenced by external factors such as airline or hotel policies, as well as any unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters or pandemics.

In such cases, Super Saver Travel will work closely with their customers and relevant service providers to find the best possible solutions and mitigate any financial losses.

For more information on Super Saver Travel’s cancellation and refund policies, please visit their website www.supersavertravel.com/cancellation-refund-policy .

In summary, Super Saver Travel offers genuine travel deals but read all policies carefully. We give them high marks for pricing and customer service but travelers should manage expectations around amenities for hotels and flights.

While too good to be true prices often signal a scam, Super Saver keeps costs low via opaque bookings and older planes/hotels. Pay attention to cancellation rules and hidden fees but they deliver as promised.

I’ve always thought that planning my own trips was the most cost-effective way, but I’ve been hearing more about travel agents making a comeback and saving their clients a lot of money. What kinds of outdoor trips should I turn to a travel agent for, and are there any who specialize in working with adventurers like me?

Technically, I’m a professional traveler. As a journalist, it’s my job to research and connect with locals to get beneath the surface of a destination. So I have never really used travel agents. What could they plan better than I could?

A lot, it turns out. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know many travel specialists, and I consider them magicians. My big aha moment happened two winters ago on a trip to Iceland . A massive storm shut down internal flights for a day, causing me to miss my return flight to the U.S. Normally, I would have spent frustrating hours on hold with the airline. But because I’d paid $65 to have Ana Gloria Garcia, an air-support specialist at the travel agency EmbarkBeyond, find and book the most affordable and convenient flight option for me, she handled the rebookings while I soaked in the Blue Lagoon.

A woman soaks in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon.

During the pandemic, agents became advocates helping travelers get refunds on canceled flights and trips. As travel has come roaring back, an agent’s superpower is now their access to the best hotel rooms, most in-the-know guides, free amenities, and more, says Cory Hagopian, senior vice president of sales and partnerships for Virtuoso , a global network of travel agencies.

And they’re attracting a young clientele. According to a recent industry survey , 38 percent of millennials and Gen Zers are opting to use travel agents as opposed to booking on their own trips. That number is far greater than Gen Xers and baby boomers, of whom only 12 and 2 percent respectively use agents.

What Do I Gain from Using a Travel Agent?

I recently had a friend tell me she spent close to 40 hours researching a family trip online. She probably could have gleaned the same intel from an hourlong conversation with a travel adviser. Knowledge is priceless, and advisers act as your insiders. They know what you don’t and fill in the blanks for things you might not have considered, says Erika Richter, a spokesperson for the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA). Their firsthand knowledge, vast network, and on-the-ground connections all combine to provide a unique perspective for crafting the perfect itinerary for you.

Kayak, paddle, raft—a river trip down Costa Rica’s Pacuare is good fun. And Danielle Meyer of Coastline Travel likes to book clients in the riverfront, all-inclusive, 20-suite Pacuare Lodge. “The way to get to the property is by whitewater rafting, so you truly begin with adventure!”

Most travel advisers specialize in certain regions and countries and travel to them frequently, so they have up-to-date intel on not only the best safari camps but the perfect tent to book for the most incredible views and the best local restaurants you won’t find on Tripadvisor. They want their client’s trips to go well to keep them coming back, so it’s in their interest to have sussed out hotels and itineraries before they send you out into the world.

Nicole Forster, 29, considers herself a savvy traveler. She’s been to 20-plus countries and enjoys destination research. But when it came to planning her honeymoon in Africa, she felt overwhelmed, so she reached out to Danielle Meyer at Coastline Travel Advisors , which specializes in bespoke itineraries. “Originally, I wanted to go to South Africa, Victoria Falls, and Madagascar,” Forster recalls. “Danielle convinced me that if we wanted to relax, we should stay in South Africa and save the other countries for separate trips.”

Over five phone conversations and multiple emails, they crafted a 15-night itinerary that included Cape Town, the winelands, the Cape Peninsula, and a safari at the Thornybush Game Reserve. Forster established her budget early in the process, and Meyer sent her a variety of lodge options to choose from.

“I initially wanted to start with the safari, but she pointed out that we’d be jet-lagged and would need to wake at sunrise for game drives,” says Forster. “The safari was our highlight, so it was a perfect way to end the trip.”

A man sitting in an open-air vehicle while on safari in South Africa smiles at the camera while an elephant is just over his shoulder, approaching.

Not only did Meyer book all of the flights, hotels, and transfers, but she created a detailed, day-by-day trip app for the couple that included useful information like check-in times at hotels and how much to tip guides .

Agents also act as advocates. If something goes wrong during your travels, they’re on call 24/7 to handle it. When Forster left the battery and charger for her camera at a hotel, Meyer arranged for an on-the-ground contact to go to a camera store and buy new ones that would be delivered to her hotel the next day.

The cost for the honeymoon planning: $150 per person. “I wouldn’t use a planner for a trip to Hawaii ,” Forster says, “but if I ever took a big trip like this again, I’d 100 percent work with an expert.”

When to Consider Using a Travel Agent

For savvy trip planners, the best time to use a travel agent is for complicated international travel. It can save you hours of planning and peace of mind that if anything goes wrong in your chosen far-flung destination, there’s someone a What’sApp message away to handle it.

Domestically, I’d consider using a travel agent when planning a multi-week national park trip or multi-island trip in Hawaii. They will save you time, guarantee you get the best guides, and help you land reservations at always-booked lodges and hotels.

Dream Trips Delivered

Jessica Cook and her husband both work in the travel industry. Decision fatigued, they handed their honeymoon logistics over to the team at Askari Travel , an agency that specializes in South Africa. Their original plan was also an African safari, but just as they were about to put a deposit down, the Omicron variant of the coronavirus made headlines. Worried about getting stuck abroad, they reached out to Askari’s founder, Muriel Truter, who is from Zimbabwe, and upon her advice, changed their focus to South America.

Knowledge is priceless, and advisers act as your insiders. They know what you don’t and fill in the blanks of things you might not even have considered.

Truter suggested they stick to Colombia rather than country-hop. Cook supplied a budget and a wish list: 12 days, no more than three destinations, a barefoot-luxe feel, and adventures like horseback riding and mountain biking. The rest was a surprise that Askari pretty much nailed, with the exception of one hotel.

“Everything felt so authentic, but this one hotel on Barú island felt really fabricated and was full of American tourists,” recalls Cook. She immediately messaged the Askari team, saying, “Hey, this place really isn’t our vibe,” and within an hour they were on a water taxi headed to Blue Apple, a B Corp hotel—and an Outside pick for tropical adventures —on Tierra Bomba island. “It was honestly the best trip we’ve ever taken,” she says.

Tierra Bomba, a 15-minute boat ride from the Colombian capital of Cartagena, is an affordable Caribbean destination with a relaxed pace and soft white sands.

Are Travel Agents Expensive?

It depends. Cost varies. Some travel agencies won’t charge any fee, as they receive a commission from the bookings, while some high-end agencies will charge pricey annual membership fees for their services. Still others charge nominal “professional” fees starting at $150. Fees often fluctuate based on the length and intricacy of a trip and how far out you do the planning (6 to 12 months is recommended). You may occasionally come across agents who charge a percentage of the total trip price or hourly rates.

Basic travel enquiries are generally free. In 2016, Leah Smith, founder of Tafari Travel , opened an old-school brick-and-mortar location in Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood so her services would feel less intimidating to first-time users. “With our retail-office location, we’ve become part of the community, and both clients and non-clients are welcome to pop in and ask whatever questions they may have, no charge,” she says.

Matt Lindsay, founder of the surf-guiding and travel company LuxSurf Travel , builds relationships with resorts and property owners to get discounted rates that he can then pass on to guests.

Matt Lindsey of LuxeSurfTravel can arrange a surf safari on a 165-foot boat, complete with dive masters. surf guides, and a spa. Guests spend a week cruising around atolls in the Maldives seeking out perfect swell and swimming with whale sharks and manta rays.

Dominic Allan, the founder of Real Latin America , specializes in travel to Belize and Nicaragua and caters to independent travelers who are happy to book their own flights and hotels but are seeking his local intel. Allan’s three-tier pricing structure starts at $300 for up to three hours of phone calls, during which he might weigh in on where to eat (or not to), the best room to request in a certain lodge, or whether you really need a guide to hike.

”Totoro Eco-Lodge, in Nicaragua, has always been one of our favorites,” says Dominic Allen of Real Latin America. In addition to its laid-back vibe, it’s spectacuarly placed on Ometepe Island, with views out to the active Conception volcano. Allen recommends volcano hikes, rainforest excursions, tours of a chocolate farm, and sunset paddles in search of caiman.

Value Versus Savings

If you’re just looking for deals and steals, you might not be ready to work with a travel adviser, says Richter of the ASTA. “Anything you invest in with a travel adviser comes back to you in the form of amenities, customer service, peace of mind, better access to unique experiences, and handcrafted itineraries,” she says. “You could save money by cutting your own hair, too, but most people go to someone who knows what they’re doing.”

Agents work with preferred partners who can guarantee perks for clients, such as free upgrades, early check-in or late check-out, and resort credits. Those add-ons often translate into savings, says Justin Huxter, cofounder of the UK-based Cartology Travel . “We had a client go to Maui for a week, and because of our partnership with the resort, breakfast was included,” he says. When breakfast costs $120 for two, that’s a savings of $840.”

I’m a Travel Agent: 5 Flights Where It’s Worth It To Spend Extra Money on Upgrades

S ome flights are quick and easy and, when budgeting , probably not worth the extra cash to upgrade anything. But, there are some flights where spending a little extra money might make a huge difference. If you think your money would be better spent on luxuries during the days in your destination, you might be overlooking just how much impact your flight can have on you. GOBankingRates spoke to Sushant Yadav, a travel agent with Travelosei , to determine when you should consider purchasing an upgrade on your flight.

Also see 11 travel hacks to avoid.

Long Flights

Consider exactly what goes into a long flight, which is usually anything above six hours. You’re sitting without entertainment and usually without room to stretch out for the better part of a day. It’s worth looking into some upgrades on these flights for your own care and, sometimes, sanity, Yadav said. “During these long trips, additional comfort and amenities provided by premium cabins can make a big difference in the overall comfort and well-being of the travelers.”

Yadav recommended opting for upgrades on marathon flights like enhanced meal options, priority boarding, spacious seating arrangements and better entertainment systems. These can help the time pass by faster, while making sure you’re not dreading every minute. Upgrading can be as easy as asking the gate agent before you board if there are any upgrades left. One tip is to check how full the flight is beforehand. If it has a lot of extra seats, you’re more likely to receive an upgrade, since those seats aren’t taken.

For You: 10 Best US Vacation Destinations for Retirees on a Budget

When You Have a Deadline

If you’re traveling for work or if you just need to get something done during your time in the air, Yadav said it might be worth looking into an internet upgrade or thinking about switching to a higher class. Furthermore, upgrading your ticket can offer you a little more space and quiet in case you need to speak to someone while flying. “For business travelers, premium seats provide extra space and privacy which is ideal for working, having meetings or even relaxing comfortably before arrival at their destination.”

The cost of internet will vary based on airline and the length of the flight. According to Finance Buzz , the price can start around $5 and go up to $20. Although, some airlines will charge for a full day, so if you have multiple flights on one airline in the same day, you can just pay once and have internet for all of your flights that day.

So, you’ve opted for an overnight flight and you’re banking on being able to get some sleep on the plane. This might be the time to upgrade your ticket to get the utmost comfort. “For travelers taking off on overnight flights, the ability to recline in a sleeping position and sleep comfortably is their primary concern,” Yadav said. “By upgrading to lie-flat seats or premium cabins that come with better bedding arrangements, journeying can be made more restful so that upon arrival at the destination, one will feel refreshed and ready for the day.”

Some airlines will even offer curtains to keep the light out and increase privacy. Others come with “do not disturb” buttons so flight attendants don’t disturb you while you sleep. A first class ticket on Cathay Pacific will get you 500 thread count sheets, which is better than you’ll get at a lot of hotels. Their beds also come with massage functions so you can soothe yourself to sleep.

If You Anticipate Running Late

Say you know you’ll be cutting it close between a meeting or something that ends right before your flight. Yadav said you can pay for services that will make your check-in a lot quicker. “In addition to providing comfort and convenience, flight upgrades may also have practical advantages such as priority check-in and baggage handling services and expedited security screening.” These can help you bypass long lines and get to the plane faster than you would had you not paid for these services.

When You Have a Lot of Time To Kill

Conversely, if you anticipate having to be at an airport for a really long layover, Yadav said paying for lounge access could help the time go by. Plus, lounges can offer you food, beverages and sometimes a shower. One of the best lounges in the world, Air France La Première Lounge in Paris, offers five star meals and a full service spa. The Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt has a cigar lounge. You can feel like you’re nowhere near an airport by spending some extra cash.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

super travel agency

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

super travel agency

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

super travel agency

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

super travel agency

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

super travel agency

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

super travel agency

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

super travel agency

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Where to watch movies for free in Moscow this summer

People watching a movie in a Pioner 24-hour open-air cinema in Gorky Park.

People watching a movie in a Pioner 24-hour open-air cinema in Gorky Park.

Temporary cinemas will be popping up across Moscow very soon, starting from July 16. All of the spots are brilliant examples of either constructivist or avant-garde architecture, so expect striking settings. A selection of classic Soviet films will be aired using cinematic equipment from the last century. All the screenings are free although online registration is required beforehand, while there will also be guided tours of the spaces, organized by the “Moscow through the Engineer's Eyes” company.

Registration will be open soon at mos-kino.ru

Bread factory

Following the success of former factories transformed into art spaces (VinZavod, Arma, Trekhgornaya manufacture), Khlebzavod (“bread factory”) No 9 is one newly opened joint that is attracting creative types from all over the city. The movie Time! Forward! will be screened in the building’s boiler room on July 16. It follows workers from the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, one of the largest steel companies in Russia, and is based on a novel by Soviet writer Valentin Kataev.

What’s more, Khlebzavod is a monument to constructivist architecture. Where better to watch such a film?

Novodmitrovskaya St. 1

Roof of the Narkomfin Building

Narkomfin Building / Kirill Zykov/Moskva Agency

The Narkomfin Building was originally designed to house high ranking employees at the Commissariat of Finance. It was built by architects Moisei Ginsburg and Ignaty Milinis. Also a fine example of constructivism, it’s currently in a state of disrepair, locked down, and fairly difficult to get into - which is like a red flag to a bull for more adventurous types.

However, on July 30 the place will be opened up and people will be welcomed onto the roof to watch the film Faith and Truth.

Novinsky Blvrd . 25b1

Khrushchyovka courtyard

Cheremushki district / Alexander Scherbak/TASS

A courtyard located in the 9th experimental block of the Novye Cheremushki district will turn into an outdoor cinema this summer. Cheremushki is the first district where Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchyov decided to build the iconic Khrushchyovka apartment blocks in the 1950s. As a result, thousands of Russians were given their own pads after decades living huddled together in communal apartments known as kommunalka .

Cheremushki is the adapted film-version of Dmitry Shostakovich’s operetta and will be shown here on Aug. 6. The organizers of the multiple screenings - the Moskino cinema chain - say they will revive the Soviet tradition of neighbors meeting in courtyards for a good old tongue wag. There will also be a guided tour of the block.

Address to be confirmed at mos-kino.ru

Pioneers Palace

If you want a slice of the postwar Soviet avant-garde style, head to the Pioneers Palace at Vorobyevy Gory. Pioneers Palaces were youth centers for sport, creativity, and hobbies for Young Pioneers (a communist organization for children) during the Soviet Union. There were dance classes, martial arts, drawing, and many other activities.

To Love a Man , a movie about two young architects building a new town in Siberia, will be shown here on Aug. 22. There will also be a lecture about building experiments in the 20th century.

A secret place

The last cinema venue remains a secret. On Aug. 27 there will be a screening, but at the moment no one knows where. Information will appear on mos-kino.ru but those who attend all four screenings above will be able to guess the last location.

A talk about architecture and Soviet history also will be hosted here.

It’s key to note that we’re not saying the “best team” or “best roster.” Instead, we’re talking about the best confluence of factors that can outline a path for survival and then success.

Yahoo Fantasy staff's Mock Draft 1.0: Shocking picks are plentiful

Teams have made their big splashes in free agency and made their draft picks, it's time for you to do the same. It's fantasy football mock draft time. Some call this time of year best ball season, others know it's an opportunity to get a leg up on your competition for when you have to draft in August. The staff at Yahoo Fantasy did their first mock draft of the 2024 season to help you with the latter. Matt Harmon and Andy Behrens are here to break it all down by each round and crush some staff members in the process.

Post-draft NFL fantasy power rankings: Offenses we love, like and want to stay away from

With free agency and the draft behind us, what 32 teams look like today will likely be what they look like Week 1 and beyond for the 2024 season. Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski reveal the post-draft fantasy power rankings. The duo break down the rankings in six tiers: Elite offensive ecosystems, teams on the cusp of being complete mixed bag ecosystems, offensive ecosystems with something to prove, offenses that could go either way, and offenses that are best to stay away from in fantasy.

CBP Officers at the Port of Rochester Discovered Counterfeit NFL, NBA, and MLB Championship Rings

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Rochester Port of Entry seized Super Bowl, World Series, and NBA Championship rings for bearing counterfeit trademarks.

In late April, CBP officers discovered several mini championship trophies and rings bearing NFL, NBA, and MLB trademarks during a shipment inspection.  The Super Bowl rings featured logos from the San Franciso 49ers, Oakland Raiders, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and New England Patriots. The World Series rings featured logos from the New York Yankees and the NBA Championship rings featured logos from the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls.  There was also NCAA basketball championship rings allegedly from Syracuse University. After a thorough examination of the merchandise, all the items were determined to be not authentic and were seized for bearing counterfeit trademarks. Had these items been genuine, the total Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) value would be approximately $9,000 dollars.

“Our officers continue to play a critical role in protecting the consumer from counterfeit items,” said Rochester Port Director Ronald Menz. “Counterfeiters scam consumers into buying low quality replicas online. Our officers diligently work to protect the American consumer by intercepting this illegitimate merchandise.”

Counterfeit professional sports championship rings consisting of NFL, NBA and MLB, seized as Intellectual Property Rights violations.

CBP has the authority to detain, seize, forfeit, and ultimately destroy imported merchandise if it bears an infringing trademark or copyright that has been registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office or the United States Copyright Office and has subsequently been recorded with CBP through the e-Recordation program  https://iprr.cbp.gov/s/ . Other violations can include misclassification of merchandise, false country-of-origin markings, health and safety issues, and valuation issues.

Trade in counterfeit and pirated goods threatens America’s innovation economy, the competitiveness of our businesses, the livelihoods of U.S. workers, and, in some cases, national security and the health and safety of consumers.  It is also against the law to import counterfeit or pirated merchandise and individual consumers may be liable for a fine even if they did not intend to import counterfeit or pirated merchandise.

If you have information about counterfeit merchandise being illegally imported into the U.S., CBP encourages you to submit an E-Allegation .  The E-Allegation reporting tool provides a means for the public to anonymously report to CBP any suspected violations of trade laws or regulations related to the importation of goods into the U.S.

CBP has established an educational initiative to raise consumer awareness about the consequences and dangers that can be associated with the purchase of counterfeit and pirated goods.  Information about the Truth Behind Counterfeits campaign can be found at The Truth Behind Counterfeits | U.S. Customs and Border Protection (cbp.gov)
