Let’s home in on the wave riding for a moment, because the surfing in  Sayulita  is hailed as some of the best for beginners anywhere in the Americas. You’ll find rental booths right on the beach that offer boards for under $10 per hour.

The main wave in front of the bay is usually waist-high and super mellow. More advanced surfers can pay a little extra for a day of guided surfing on the region’s harder waves – La Lancha, Punta Mita.

If you prefer to stay dry, no worries. Hit the hiking path that weaves north of town and you’ll pass through pockets of vine-strewn jungles inhabited by parrots and the biggest blooms of bougainvillea you’ve ever seen.  

Take the hiking path as far as the quaint Mexicana village of San Pancho, where the Taquería Los Arbolitos serves up cactus ragu in habanero corn fritters for $1 a pop. 

Sayulita is only a quick drive north of the more-famous resort of Puerto Vallarta. There are oodles of flight links to cities across the US from Puerto Vallarta, with onward bus connections to Sayulita almost every 20 minutes or so throughout the day. They cost less than $20 USD and take only 1h 20m.

Cartagena, Colombia

Cartagena is a beautiful walled city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. It’s the perfect tropical city vacation for cheap winter travel within a few hours of the USA.

A great way to get a feel for the city is to join a free walking tour with Beyond Colombia. There are two options, both of which are worth doing. One of the tours takes you around the historic walled city of Cartagena to the top sights while the other tour takes you outside the walls to the Getsemani district full of street art and delicious food.

While visiting Cartagena, it’s worthwhile to take advantage of its location on the Caribbean and explore some beaches. One of the most popular and affordable options is to visit Playa Blanca.

Playa Blanca is reachable by boat, taxi, or by joining a tour. The beach is beautiful, with warm crystal clear water to swim in. The beach can get crowded so if you are looking for a more secluded beach and fantastic snorkeling, the Rosario Islands are a great day trip from Cartagena.

For food, don’t miss an opportunity to try Colombian coffee at Café San Alberto. They will even do coffee pouring demonstrations. Around the city, you will also find fruit vendors that sell seasonal fruit perfect for a light breakfast or lunch.

A traditional meal here is local fish with coconut rice and fried plantains and you can find it for an affordable price at many local restaurants.

Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Manuel Antonio, tucked along the Pacific coastline of Costa Rica, offers a low-cost warm tropical holiday, just a short flight away from America.

While there’s tons of things to do in Manuel Antonio , this tiny fishing village is primarily known for two things – its stunning national park and its white sand beaches.

While you’re here, you should go to Manuel Antonio National Park, home to howler monkeys, capuchins, and sloths. You can wander around the Park’s miles of hiking trails, scanning the lush treetops above for wildlife, or head to any of its gorgeous beaches, which tend to be quieter and less crowded than the ones outside of the Park’s boundaries.

For a more boisterous time, head to the town’s main beach, Playa Espadilla Norte. You can find tons of reasonably priced activities here, from surf lessons to banana boat rides, or simply soak up the sun.

Food is quite cheap in Costa Rica, especially if you eat at local shops or sodas . For example, Soda Angel is a small shop serving up incredibly affordable—and tasty—dishes made with fresh and locally grown ingredients.

To reach Manuel Antonio, it takes two and a half hours by car from San Jose, the city with the closest international airport.

Alternatively, you can take a four and a half hour ride from San Jose to the neighboring town of Quepos and take a short colectivo the rest of the way to Manuel Antonio.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Puerto Plata is a perfect option if you’re looking for a low price place that is warm, close to the US and located in the wonderful Caribbean. Furthermore, it features plenty of pristine beaches, an enormous selection of outdoor activities as well as a very authentic vibe, particularly if  comparing Puerto Plata with Punta Cana , its more famous counterpart.

When traveling to Puerto Plata, you have the choice of two kinds of holidays. You can opt for an all-inclusive vacation at one of Puerto Plata’s resorts or you organize your vacation on your own and pick one of the amazing eco-lodges or beachfront apartments along the Dominican Republic’s stunning north coast.

When looking for affordable and inexpensive things to do in Puerto Plata, you have plenty of options. All of the beaches are free to visit (and many of them are extremely pristine, yet not always as white and gorgeous as in Punta Cana).

In addition, there are plenty of amazing hikes in the area (however, most of them require a local guide). For example, La Rejolla, Charcos del Militar or around Jamao al Norte require guides but all of them feature spectacular waterfalls making this small additional cost worthwhile.

You can also take the local cable car to Montaña Isabel de Torres and enjoy some beautiful views of the entire coastline.

Puerto Plata’s city center is worth a stroll. The Ambar museum, rum distillery and the Fortaleza San Felipe are very interesting to see and charge a nominal entrance fee.

Puerto Plata’s center and the oceanfront promenade called “Malecon” are also the best place if you want to find cheap local food, especially lunch, for less than $5 USD.

If flying to Puerto Plata Airport, you can simply take a local bus to Puerto Plata or your coastal accommodation.

From Cibao Airport, take a taxi from the airport to Santiago’s Caribe Tours or Metro bus terminal and hop on the cheap 1.5-hour bus (approx. 4 USD) to Puerto Plata or Sosua (runs every 30-60 minutes approx.).

If you are not satisfied with the flight times or prices, you can also fly into Santiago’s Cibao Airport (STI), which is only 1.5 hours from Puerto Plata.

If you don’t have a lot of time to book your own holiday, then an all-inclusive resort is a great answer. Antigua, Guatemala

Antigua, Guatemala was at one time the colonial Spanish capital of Central America. Today, the small city’s colonial Spanish architecture has made it a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a low-cost warm city winter destination near the US. You can easily spend several days or weeks in Antigua, or make it part of a Guatemala itinerary .

Most of Antigua can be explored on foot, and there’s plenty of free activities that you can take advantage of. Spend an afternoon in Parque Central. This is the center of the city, and it’s always bustling with activity. Head there for people watching and to browse the vendors selling trinkets around the park. 

Be sure to head to the Santa Catalina Arch to admire its architecture and take photos. This tall, yellow arch is one of the recognizable landmarks in Antigua. It was built in the 17th century, originally connecting the Santa Catalina convent to a school.

Hiking up to Cerro de la Cruz is a free activity that delivers great views of the region. At this viewpoint you’ll see the large cross which was built in devotion to the city’s patron saint. On a clear day, you’ll have views of all of the city and volcanoes in the distance.

You can find cheap eats in Mercado Central Antigua. Shop for fruits and produce, and stop by vendors to try Guatemalan street food for a very reasonable price.

To reach Antigua, fly into La Aurora International Airport, which serves Guatemala City. From the airport, you will need to take a shuttle into the city to the main bus terminal. There you can catch a “chicken bus” to Antigua, for just a few US dollars. The ride takes about 2 hours.

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

Playa del Carmen is a coastal beach town located on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. The area is famous for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant nightlife, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking reasonably priced warm winter vacations near the USA.

One of the best free things to do in Playa del Carmen is to explore its stunning beaches. The town boasts several complimentary public beaches, including Playa Mamitas and Playa Tukan, where visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling.

In addition to the beaches, visitors can also take a stroll through the charming town center, filled with boutique shops, street vendors, and restaurants.

Another great free activity is visiting the nearby ruins of Tulum, which is located just a short distance from Playa del Carmen.

Playa del Carmen hosts several annual events and festivals, such as the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, the BPM Festival, and the Carnaval de Playa del Carmen. These events attract music lovers and partygoers from around the world, making it a great time to visit the town and experience its lively atmosphere.

When it comes to food, Playa del Carmen offers a variety of inexpensive restaurants and markets, including La Floresta Market and El Fogon Taqueria. These places offer delicious Mexican cuisine at affordable prices, giving travelers the chance to enjoy local food without having to spend a fortune.

To reach Playa del Carmen, visitors can fly into Cancun International Airport, which is about 40 minutes away. Travelers can rent a car, take a bus or taxi to reach the town.

In winter, average high temperatures are around 83°F, rarely dipping below 67 °F in the evening. Expect a few days of rain each winter month.

Hostels such as Hostel 3B and Mama’s Home provide comfortable and affordable lodging options for travelers on a budget.

Camping is also an option, with several campsites located outside of the town center.”

St. Johns, US Virgin Islands

St. John is the smallest of the US Virgin Islands found in the Caribbean Sea to the east of Puerto Rico.  The island is 19 square miles and has fewer than 5000 residents. The larger USVI islands of St. Thomas is located just to the west and St. Croix is located to the south. It is one of the best places to visit near the continental USA for moderately priced tropical winter getaways.

The Virgin Islands National Park covers 60% of the island and is free to visitors. Once arriving at Cruz Bay, follow the path from the ferry dock northeast to Dock Center Road to get to the Visitor’s Center for the Park. Behind the Visitor’s Center is a staircase leading to the start of the Lind Point Hiking Trail. The hiking trail has an upper and a lower trail that are marked with signs.

Along with experiencing the local wildlife and lush tropical plants along the Lind Point hiking trail, it also connects to the various beaches on the north side of the island.

The first beach on the lower trail is Solomon Beach and next is Honeymoon Beach. Honeymoon Beach has drinks and snacks for sale. 

The next beach on the hike is Trunk Bay and then further is Cinnamon Bay and Cinnamon Beach.  Swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling can be done from all of the beaches.  

There are many other amazing hikes, with varying degrees of difficulty and duration, within the Virgin Islands National Park. 

Cinnamon Bay Trail takes one past the Cinnamon Bay Plantation. Established in 1717, it became one of the most successful sugar plantations on the island. It also grew bay rum trees that were used to make St. John Bay Rum Cologne.  

For a longer and more challenging hike, the Reef Bay Trail covers more sugar plantation ruins as well as ancient rock carvings from the Taino people, who lived on the island from 1200-1500 AD.

Coral Bay offers a less touristy and less crowded way to enjoy St. John.

The most direct way to get to St. John is to fly to St. Thomas. After landing at Cyril E. King International Airport in Charlotte Amalie, travelers need to get to the Red Hook Ferry Dock to board the boat to St. John. 

The VITRAN outbound bus routes from the airport to the Red Hook Ferry Dock take approximately an hour, not including changing buses at the Schneider Hospital. At Red Hook Ferry Dock, the ferries depart each hour to St. John. The trip takes about 20 minutes and costs $6.00 USD one way. 

Coral Bay is also reached by an approximately 30 minutes commute on the VITRAN bus from the Ferry Dock. The bus stop for Coral Bay is known as the Triangle. 

Audra says, “Cinnamon Bay offers camping sites and open ecotents for rent. Accommodations can be rented online 11 months in advance and have a 2 night minimum. There is a 7 night minimum during Christmas and New Year’s week as well as President’s week in February.

As for Coral Bay , there are several cottages for rent along Coral Bay, as well as a few grocery stores.  “

Curaçao is a Dutch-owned island in the Caribbean Sea. Its’ European influence and dry climate make it a truly unique Caribbean destination that offers cheap tropical beach escapes in winter. 

There are 38 picture-perfect beaches to explore on this island. Most of them are free to enter, with the exception of a few that may charge around $5 USD for entry. 

Swimming with sea turtles sounds like a gimmick you would overpay for at a Mexican resort, but in Curaçao, this is something you can do for free.

Playa Piskado is a beach where fishermen throw their leftover bait or unwanted catches into the water. This attracts turtles who enjoy the easy snack. These sea turtles are used to being around people, so grab your snorkel and swim along with them in the clear, shallow waters. 

For even more natural interactions with wildlife, there are a few spots on the island that are home to flocks of flamingos. In fact, you can simply type “flamingos” into Google Maps and it will lead you to the salt flats of Jan Kok, where you can see dozens, if not hundreds, of the majestic pink birds.  

For cheap and delicious food, I recommend the restaurants along Playa Zakitó. This is where you can enjoy the freshest seafood caught by local fishermen. The area is easy to access just outside the city center, but far enough away to avoid the tourist prices. 

Flights arrive into Curaçao International Airport. Once you fly in you can rent a car, hop in a taxi, or ride the $1 bus for 20 minutes to the capital city of Willemstad.

The weather just might be Curaçao’s best asset, with average high temperatures around 85°F during winter. The island is situated outside of the Caribbean’s “Hurricane Alley” and has an arid, desert-like climate. Rain is a lot less likely to ruin your beach day here.

Steven says, “I find that Airbnb is great value on the island, but there are plenty of inexpensive accommodation options in Willemstad as well.”

Caye Caulker, Belize

Located off the coast of Belize City, Caye Caulker attracts a younger crowd who are looking for low-priced warm winter vacations near the USA.

Only five miles long, there are no cars on the island. The mode of transportation is by bike or golf cart. The island’s motto is “Go slow,” and you will see it everywhere. You won’t find vendors selling tours or pushy salespeople.

Caye Caulker isn’t known for its beaches, as seaweed surrounds most of the island. To enjoy the tropical waters, take an inexpensive snorkel tour to  Shark Ray Alley.  Located offshore, you’ll snorkel or stand in shallow waters, shared by friendly stingrays and more timid nurse sharks.

In 1961, Hurricane Hattie divided Caye Caulker into two islands. “The Split,” the body of water between them, provides an ideal place to snorkel for free. You’ll also find restaurants and the famous Lazy Lizard Bar. It’s a perfect place to get a drink, listen to music, and enjoy the ocean views.

Iguana Hotel built a seahorse sanctuary on the island’s west side next to its resort. You can access a jetty for free, and you might spot seahorses in the water beneath you.

Surrounded by the ocean, Caye Caulker’s restaurants provide the most fantastic seafood at low prices. Alternatively, fishermen sell their fresh catch daily, so you can purchase inexpensive seafood. Take it to a restaurant, where they will cook it for you, or some hotels have guest kitchens.

You can reach the island by ferry or water taxi from Belize City. The journey takes 45 minutes. Tropic Air also provides 15-minute flights from Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City, although you’ll pay a premium to access the small island by air.

Karen says, “The colorful Rainbow Hotel provides inexpensive accommodation, with kitchens or kitchenettes. Across the street, their restaurant serves the freshest food, with serene ocean views.”

Actun Tunichil Muknal is one of the most extraordinary experiences that I have every had. It is a 5.3 km cave system near San Ignacio, almost in the centre of Belize. It contains some of the most well-preserved examples of pre-classical Mayan culture (around 700 – 900 AD), including skeletal remains of human sacrifices. La Paz, Mexico

Nestled in a large bay overlooking the Sea of Cortez, La Paz is a laid-back town and a popular competitively priced winter destination. Lying on the east coast of Mexico’s subtropical Baja California Sur peninsula (of which it is the capital), La Paz is blessed with warm weather, little rain and beautiful beaches.

Visiting the beach is one of the best free things to do in the area, with several white-sand bays, including El Saltito, La Ventana and  Balandra Beach , which is heralded as Mexico’s most beautiful beach.

Cycling along La Paz’s Malecón (oceanfront boulevard promenade) provides beautiful views, while those who prefer to stroll can enjoy marine-themed sculptures which have been made by local artists.

The city’s old town centre houses the charming Nuestra Señora de La Paz Cathedral, which is free to visit, as well as the Museum of Art and Museum of Anthropology.

Winter is the perfect time to visit La Paz for marine wildlife encounters. Whales migrate along the coast at this time and whale sharks, the world’s largest fish, visit the waters around La Paz between the months of October-May.

There are plenty of affordable seaside bars and restaurants to choose in town but eating where the locals eat can help you save some money. At Tacos de Pescado el Estadio, you can enjoy fresh fish tacos for less than a dollar.

The closest airport to La Paz is Manuel Márquez de León International Airport which is used by a large variety of international airline carriers. Autobues Águila serves most of Baja California Sur’s airports and towns and makes transfers very affordable.

La Paz is also easily accessible from other parts of Baja California Sur, with the journey from Los Cabos taking around 2 hours by car.

The winter months in North America are the perfect time to escape to Grenada as it is the start of the dry season. It offers inexpensive holidays within easy reach of the USA.

The island is located in the Southern Caribbean and is regarded as one of the safest places in the Caribbean. 

Fondly referred to as the isle of Spice, Grenada is the second largest producer of nutmeg in the world after Indonesia. In addition to nutmeg, the island grows premium cocoa beans, ginger, turmeric, cloves and bay leaves. 

To experience the authentic flavor of the island’s chocolate, House of Chocolate is an affordable café to visit which uses chocolate as the principal ingredient in most food and drinks. There is also an in-house museum which demonstrates how cocoa beans are harvested and processed. 

Another exciting  thing to do is go to St George’s , the capital city of the island, and take photos at Fort George. This fort, built by the French between the years 1706-1710, provides some of the most breathtaking views of the capital and surrounding areas. 

All the beaches in Grenada are public and free to access. The best white sand beach on the island is Grand Anse Beach which is a gorgeous two miles stretch with turquoise waters. 

The beach is situated near hotels, public transportation, restaurants, malls, banks and about fifteen minutes’ drive from the capital city. 

Rick’s Café is an excellent location in the Grand Anse Shopping Centre for wraps, burgers, pizzas and locally made Sugar & Spice ice cream. 

Also, be sure to check out Umbrellas Beach Bar & 61 Degrees West for lunch if you are spending the day on Grand Anse Beach.

St. Kitts and Nevis

St Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean are one of the best warm winter budget friendly tropical destinations to visit near the USA.

There are so many awesome  things to do in St Kitts and Nevis  that you will never be bored in this hidden paradise. With year-round tropical weather, one of the best free activities is visiting one of the many beautiful beaches.

Being a volcanic island, there are both white and black sand beaches dotted all around. All beaches are accessible to the public, even the ones in front of hotels, though they may charge you to use their sun loungers and umbrellas.

Along with the incredible beaches, the warm turquoise water of the Caribbean sea is warm most of the year so swimming is a must.

If you love being in the water, then head to Shipwreck beach. Rent a snorkelling set for a couple of hours and explore the shallow reef just off the shore. See the shoals of tropical fish, hidden lobsters and if you are lucky, you may spot a turtle or an eagle ray.

December in St Kitts is party central with the annual Sugar Mas Carnival taking place between Christmas and New Year. Head to Basseterre and watch the colourful carnival parade as it meanders through the town centre or grab some local beers and watch from one of the bars or restaurants.

For cheap eats, head to one of the food courts in converted shipping containers and get some tasty food such as ribs, chicken, noodles, burgers, shawarma and even sushi.

Getting around on St Kitts is easy with the local ‘H’ buses running from Basseterre to the main parts of the island.

Cozumel, Mexico

Mexico’s largest Caribbean island,  Cozumel  is a year-round paradise that has beautiful beaches, Mayan ruins, and some of the world’s best scuba diving. It one of the best cheap places to visit close to the USA for warm winter escapes.

There are many free and inexpensive activities to enjoy on the island. You can explore San Miguel de Cozumel’s main plaza, Benito Juarez Park, which has a beautiful clock tower and is lined with cafes and restaurants. You can have a drink or visit the shops without spending too much money.

If you want to visit some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, you can go to a beach club. Some have small covers and minimum food purchases, but others will give you access to the beach at no charge.

A ticket to the ruins of San Gervaiso is less than $5, making this important Mayan fertility site a great way to spend a morning on the island. You can combine a day trip to San Gervaiso with a visit to the Punta Sur Eco-Park.

To save money on meals, walk a few blocks inland from San Miguel de Cozumel’s main plaza before settling on a restaurant. 

Cozumel has its own airport. It’s a 7 minute drive from the airport to the main plaza.

Another option is to fly into Cancun, take a bus down to Playa del Carmen, and then a ferry across. Keep in mind that this route will add $50-$100 or more to your trip (and at least a few hours), so skip this if flying into Cozumel is comparable or even a little more expensive.

Stephanie says, “There are many lovely all-inclusive resorts on Cozumel, but a good budget hotel located right on the plaza is the Suites Colonial Cozumel . This hotel has a great location within walking distance to the ferry terminal and many shops and restaurants.”

One of the best things to do in Cozumel is to take an electric bike tour of Punta Sur Ecological Park . A little on the pricey side, it is well worth budgeting for this. Punta Sur Ecological Park is spectacularly beautiful and fundamentally untouched. It is part of a 247-acre (1.00 km 2 ) ecological park that covers the reefs, beaches, lagoons, and low forest of the surrounding area. It is home to wide open sandy beaches, large crashing waves onto the shore, and wildlife such as sea turtles, iguanas and crocodiles.

La Fortuna, Costa Rica

The central American country of Costa Rica attracts more and more American tourists every year, due to its tropical climate and dreamy rainforests. La Fortuna, located in the center of the country, is a hot hub for backpackers who are drawn to the cheap accommodation, food, and attractions. 

When visiting La Fortuna, you can relax in one of the best free hot springs in Costa Rica located in the middle of a lush forest.

This free hot spring doesn’t really have a name but you won’t struggle to find it. Go to the Tabacon thermal resort and park there. After a short 5-minute walk from the parking lot, you will come across a shallow river, almost at bath temperature!

After relaxing in the hot spring, you can hike to the Arenal Volcano summit by yourself by following the marked trails. This active volcano is quite famous in the country because of its conical shape. The hike to the summit lasts about one hour and a half.

Last but not least, there are two famous waterfalls in the area. La Fortuna Waterfall is very powerful and impressive, as it is 246 feet tall. The entrance ticket costs $18 for adults and $5 for children.

El Salto Waterfall, on the other hand, is smaller, but is surrounded by lush foliage and there’s no entrance fee.

You can find delicious cheap food on the main street. At Restaurante Nene’s, the grilled fish is delicious and only $7 USD.

To visit La Fortuna from the United-States, you will need to take a short flight to either Liberia or San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica.

From either international airports, you will need to drive, take a shuttle or buses to reach La Fortuna. It is approximately 2h 30m from Liberia and 3 hours from San Jose.

Between November and March, the temperature ranges from evening lows of 72°F to daytime highs of 92°F. La Fortuna is in a rainforest, but it hardly rains in December, January, February and March.

St. Croix, USVI

St. Croix is one of the most underrated and least visited tropical destinations from continental United States. A U.S. territory in the Caribbean, St. Croix is a safe and relaxed island with stunning turquoise water, vibrant culture, incredible biodiversity, picturesque colonial architecture, and important history. 

Since St. Croix is part of the U.S., Americans don’t need a passport to visit the island, making it a convenient spot for a tropical getaway without leaving the country. While food and accommodation on the island can be a little pricey, it’s not difficult to explore St. Croix on a budget.

There are lots of things to do on St. Croix . Better yet, nearly every St. Croix activity is free—from beach hopping, swimming with sea turtles, strolling through bright colonial towns to exploring historical sites.

St. Croix goes all out for Christmas with its Crucian Christmas Festival, also called Carnival. Locals proudly parade through colonial streets, celebrating the island’s cultural diversity and honoring its history. 

I recommend renting an Airbnb with a kitchenette and cooking some meals at home during your stay to save money. Save your budget for the experiences (and food) most meaningful to you. Eating a few meals at home goes a long way since most restaurant meals cost around $20 USD in St. Croix.

You can fly directly to St. Croix, but in most cases, you will have at least one layover in St. Thomas. For cheaper flights, you can fly direct to St. Thomas and reach the island by a 90-minute ferry from St. Thomas.

It’s best to navigate the island by rental car, but with stunning beaches around every single corner, you can also easily stay near one of the main towns (Christainsted or Frederiksted) and explore on foot.

St. Croix is worth visiting year-round, but the best time to see the island (according to locals) is in winter when average high temperatures are around 83°F. They rarely dip below 72 °F in the evening. In addition, there is practically no rain.

Annie says, “If you want to stay somewhere unique, check out the Hotel on the Cay . It’s the only hotel on a small nearby island, just a 2-minute ferry ride from St. Croix’s main town, Christiansted.

Hotel on the Cay’s prices are surprisingly low considering that it’s on a private island. You can find cheaper accommodation elsewhere, but it’s worth checking it out since the nightly rates are comparable to average hotels in most U.S. cities. .”

Bacalar, Mexico

A wonderfully underrated place to visit for affordable tropical winter vacations close to America is Bacalar, Mexico. Located in Quintana Roo but not as buzzy (or expensive) as Riviera Maya destinations like Tulum and Playa del Carmen, Bacalar is a true hidden gem .

There are a lot of free and inexpensive  things to do in Bacalar . For a free activity, head to the Fuerte San Felipe Bacalar, the fort in the center of town. It’s free to walk around this historic fortress, and it’s really interesting to see what remains.

Activities are also inexpensive. Boat tours around the lagoon cost just about $20 USD and will take you around the most beautiful parts. You will quickly learn why it earns the name “Lake of 7 Colors”.

You can also rent a stand-up paddle board for about $30 USD a day or a lot cheaper if you only want it for an hour or two.

The restaurants in the center are generally inexpensive, especially if you walk on streets that aren’t on the waterfront. Consider El Manatí Bacalar and La Neta Taqueria for well-priced, delicious food.

Currently, there aren’t any direct flights to Chetumal from major American cities. In addition, with layovers, total travel times are very long.

Accordingly, the best way to get to Tulum is by flying to Mexico City and then taking another flight to Chetumal. From Chetumal, it’s about a 30-minute drive by taxi to Bacalar.

You may have to purchase two tickets to get the best cost savings versus one flight with a layover in Mexico City. For example, NY – Mexico City return, and Mexico City – Chetumal return.

Alternately, you can fly to Cancun and take an ADO bus or rent a car, but the drive takes nearly 5 hours. If interested in this alternative. please see the flight times for Cancun under the heading Playa Del Carmen or Isla Holbox above.

Get ready to eat amazing food (will anyone eat it?), Stroll Old San Juan, ride horses in El Yunque National Forest and lounge on the beach. For a real treat, time your visit with a new moon and book a bioluminescent kayaking excursion.

4. Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Hilton Head is another U.S. island that’s great during the winter. While you shouldn’t expect tropical weather here, there is still plenty of sunshine and mild winter temperatures that tend to stay in the 60s and 70s. Since winter is off-season, you’ll also find fewer crowds and shorter wait times , allowing you to squeeze in a well-rounded itinerary that includes dolphin cruises, beachcombing and visits to top restaurants. The sunny, cool weather is also ideal for exercising on the tennis court, exploring the island by bicycle and playing golf.

5. Gulf Shores, Alabama

This city on Alabama’s Gulf Coast is most popular during spring break, but the sunshine usually keeps temperatures warm with temperatures in the low 60s to low 70s through December. Ocean temperatures vary, but travelers can still trade snowmen to build sand castles here. Other outdoor activities include boating, golfing, parasailing, hiking and cruises. Families will find a variety of seasonal events, from Christmas markets and Santa visits to themed dinners and pet parades. In addition, hotel prices are lower and restaurants are less crowded this time of year.

6. Golden Isles, Georgia

Georgia’s four barrier islands, known as the Golden Isles, were named for their natural beauty and pristine beaches. Escaping the winter weather is easy on these luxury islands, thanks to temperatures hovering in the 60s (although last year, the Islands saw some days in the 70s). Mix up your gloves, grab the sunscreen and head to the beach. Visitors can also hike through the marsh, spot wildlife along the river, or explore by horseback or kayak. Bonus points if you can spot a bald eagle, right whale or hen duck – all are fleeing winter by migrating here. Golf is a popular pastime here as well. The winter months also showcase a treasure hunt as several handmade glass orbs are hidden on Jekyll Island. If you find one, you can keep it; it looks like the perfect souvenir to us.

7. Maui, Hawaii

You may have to travel a little further to get to Maui , but you won’t remember the name of winter once you land on the Hawaiian island. Temps in the 70s mean you can still hit the beach, though the Pacific waters can be a bit chilly for swimming. Daytime activities include boating, fishing, hiking and whale watching. We recommend turning along the road to Hana for stunning views and access points with great hikes to waterfalls. Meanwhile, bonfire parties on the sand really heat things up at night. Just keep in mind that winter is peak season for Hawaii, so expect high prices and tons of fellow winter deserters.

26 Cheap Destinations for 2024 with great weather in February

February is a very popular month for holidays to sunny places because so many people living in northern climates are so sick of the cold weather by then. The good news is that you’ve got dozens of great option for sunshine vacation spots in all part of the world and many of them are surprisingly cheap as well. The list below contains 26 places that each have really nice weather and affordable prices for hotels.

Many of the places also have an abundance of all-inclusive hotels and in most of those places (we list them with the hotel prices) they are usually going to be your best value. The boom in all-inclusive resorts has continued and the larger ones are so efficient that you can often get a room including 3 meals a day and alcoholic drinks for not much more than a similar hotel nearby.

Carnival celebrations happen in many countries around the world in February, and two of the most famous are listed below.

The Americas

Most people in the United States and all people in Canada will be frozen in February so the obvious first choice is to head south to Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean. On the other hand, Mardi Gras is on February 13 in New Orleans in 2024, so that is one possible choice for those who prefer not to leave the US.

The Caribbean

If your main goal is to relax in the warm weather instead of exploring the cultural destinations such as those mentioned below, then your best budget bet will be in Mexico, Dominican Republic, or Jamaica. If you like to indulge yourself with unlimited quantities of food and drink on your vacation then an all-inclusive resort will by far be the best deal. If you don’t drink and are a light eater then you’ll spend less at a normal resort. Cancun, Mexico

• February avg high: 84°F/29°C
• February avg low: 69°F/21°C

Hotel prices in Cancun can actually be quite high during the peak weeks, but lately there have been some very good bargains in the 3-star category for much of the high season. It’s harder to find cheap meals and drinks here, but it’s still a bargain destination compared to elsewhere in the Caribbean. This area is also ideal for families and we rank it near the top among the best Caribbean destinations for families with children .

It’s worth noting that Cancun itself is mostly a long L-shaped strip of big hotels with very few restaurants in between them. If you would prefer to stay in a town filled with smaller hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, and plenty of other things to do, I’d highly recommend Playa del Carmen , which is about an hour south by taxi or shuttle. You’ll encounter actual Mexican people there rather than just hotel workers, and for many of us that is a big plus. In fact, the greater Cancun area is so large and filled with different choices that I recently put together a guide to choosing where to stay in the Cancun area so you can match your style with the best option.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

• February avg low: 70°F/21°C
• February avg precip: 0.9″/2.3cm

Here you’ll find over 100 resorts to choose from, including about 60 that are fully all-inclusive. Many of these all-inclusive hotels have 500 or more rooms, which helps them keep prices modest compared to small resorts on other islands. Those mainly interested in relaxing on a lovely white beach should consider package deals that include a hotel stay and airfare into the nearby airport. Long story short, if you are interested in the best-value location to enjoy an all-inclusive beach resort in February, Punta Cana is the place to go. It also has a fairly new and efficient airport and good roads, which is more than you can say for most of its competition in the Caribbean. Even with all the affordable places, Punta Cana also has an entry on the most luxurious all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean as well.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

• February avg low: 71°F/22°C

If Montego Bay itself doesn’t sound perfect then you might instead consider  Negril  or  Ocho Rios , both of which are about 90 minutes from the same airport and each has a different feel. All of these resort areas have plenty of water sports and other activities on offer, at prices that are lower than in most of the Caribbean. Jamaica is also the best and cheapest choice if you want to stay at an all-inclusive hotel in a place where everyone (more or less) speaks English. On the other hand, Jamaica has a reputation for aggressive beach vendors and that is a big turn-off for many.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

• February avg low: 61°F/16°C
• February avg precip: 0.2″/0.5cm

February is part of the high season in Puerto Vallarta and the weather is fittingly perfect. As you can see in the numbers below, 3-star hotels here can be very reasonable, even ones with good locations. Four star hotels here tend to be large chain hotels on the beach, so the value is still pretty good and you get a lot for your money. Flights into PV are usually pretty reasonable as well. Especially if you are on the West Coast, you might also compare prices for Los Cabos, which is discussed below.

Los Cabos, Mexico

• February avg high: 79°F/26°C
• February avg low: 55°F/13°C
• February avg precip: 0.1″/0.3cm

You’ll notice that evenings in February get a bit cool so you’ll want to bring at least a light jacket with you, but the days will be consistently warm and perfect for the beach or poolside. The Cabo area is also very safe and tourist-oriented, so this is a good choice for anyone who worries about that sort of thing. And similar to most other Mexican resort areas, there is a huge difference in price between simple 3-star hotels a few blocks from the beach, and the larger 4-star resort hotels directly on the beach.

Mexico City, Mexico

• February avg high: 73°F/23°C
• February avg low: 45°F/7°C

Some choose to stop in Mexico City on the way to or from Cancun or Puerto Vallarta, as domestic flights are frequent and cheap, and it’s a nice contrast to add some big-city culture to a beach vacation as well. February is still high season for hotels in Mexico City, but there are still great bargains to be found compared to the crowded beaches. Shopping is popular in Mexico City as the selection of international goods is excellent and prices are very competitive as well.

Cartagena, Colombia

• February avg high: 85°F/29°C

It’s true that February is still during the high season along Colombia’s beaches, but it’s still very cheap here compared to nearly any other Caribbean destination. There are larger luxurious hotels where the best deals are booked early, but also cheaper guesthouses where you can still find something at the last minute if you aren’t too picky. The historic walled city is gorgeous and hotels within the walls can be quite inexpensive. The beach area nearby has more traditional hotels, and they are close enough to go back and forth all day if you like.

Ambergris Caye, Belize

• February avg high: 76°F/24°C

Belize is definitely one of the  cheapest Caribbean destinations , and the offshore islands actually do have quite a Caribbean feel in spite of being surrounded by Latin America. There are wonderful resorts here for those willing to spend more, but even the cheaper hotels are decent, and very good bargains even in high season. It’s worth noting that the islands of Belize are not known for abundant sandy beaches since much of the coast is still mangrove forests. There are some resorts that have carved out a small beach, but the best place to go in Belize for sandy beaches is the Placenia peninsula.

Guanacaste, Costa Rica

There are water sports here and plenty of other activities, but this region is now known mostly for some larger beach hotels that are packed this time of year. There are several small towns in the area as well, so you can find cheaper hotels that are walking distance to the beach if you look around a bit. There are about 10 all-inclusive hotels in this area now and they are probably the best value for any visitor who mainly wants to relax on the beach and do an excursion or two during their stay.

Hotels in Lima are near their peak prices for the year in February, but still quite good bargains by international standards. By the way, the rainy season in  Cusco  goes on in February, so the trails can sometimes be cut off, although many people go anyway.

Santiago, Chile

February is part of the high season for hotels in Santiago, but things are still quite reasonable by international standards so it remains a great bargain. Even a backpacker can live quite well in Chile on limited funds, but those willing to splash around a bit more cash can find the best of everything here. You’ll also want to visit nearby  Valparaiso  on the same trip, and you might even want to stay there.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

• February avg low: 67°F/19°C

February is near the end of the high season in Buenos Aires, and hotel prices can still be relatively high toward the beginning of the month, with better deals appearing as March nears. As 2024 approaches, the Argentinian currency keeps dropping and the whole country is a crazy bargain. Inflation keeps moving prices higher, but the exchange rate means that it’s still among the world’s best-value destinations. You can usually get a FAR better exchange rate in person if you arrive with US dollars. In fact, for the last few years the exchange rate in person has been right around double the “official rate” so costs will literally be half if you bring cash and exchange it after you arrive. Research the “Blue Dollar” for more up to date information.

Bariloche, Argentina

This tourist town is also generally cheaper than Buenos Aires, so it’s excellent value in addition to providing great contrast on your trip of Argentina or South America in general. Perhaps surprisingly, Bariloche has German roots and it’s still famous for many chocolate shops as well as other European carry-overs that aren’t widely found elsewhere in the region. And while you are at it you might consider also visiting Argentina’s wine country in  Mendoza .

You might also consider including  Mendoza  on your trip, which is the main wine region of Argentina, and also good value. The same Blue Dollar thing goes here and everywhere in Argentina so it’s wise to arrive with cash and try to pay for most of your trip that way.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

It can’t be stressed enough that Carnival is by far the most expensive week of the year in Rio de Janeiro, and as great of a spectacle as it can be, it’s better to avoid it unless you are dead-set in attending the 4-nights’ worth of festivities in the city center.

Geography fans will know there nowhere in continental Europe has “great weather” in Febuary, but there is still one great choice and it’s very affordable as well. The Canary Islands are off the coast of northern Africa and they are part of Spain, so it’s easy to get cheap flights from many places in Europe and elsewhere.

There are also about 40 all-inclusive resorts here and those can be great value, especially for people who like to have more than a couple of alcoholic drinks each day.

It’s too cool in northern Africa to qualify as “great weather” during February, but it’s not a bad time to visit Cairo for smaller crowds and reasonable temperatures. Otherwise you’ll have to head to the south for a proper sunshine holiday in Africa this month.

Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt

Since February is part of the off season in this resort area, the hotel prices can be unbelievably low. The area has dozens of all-inclusive resorts that start out at amazingly low prices. It’s wise to check reviews carefully to make sure you are getting what you think you’ll be getting, but they are definitely a great value for many people.

Middle East

February is cool and even a bit rainy in most of the Middle East. An exception is Dubai (below) and  Abu Dhabi , which both have perfect sunny weather. However, Abu Dhabi doesn’t make this list because it’s not really cheap enough to make the cut for a “cheap destinations” list.

Unlike its neighbor, Abu Dhabi , at least it’s fairly easy to get a reasonably priced hotel room in Dubai. The large chain hotels in the best locations such as Downtown Dubai or the Dubai Marina are very expensive, but you can find a nice independent hotel in other nearby neighborhoods for a surprisingly cheap price. There are many apartment hotels in Dubai and often those go for similar prices to normal rooms. Food also comes in a wide range of prices, and eating cheap local food is quite easy if you look around a bit.

The peak season for all of Southeast Asia starts around Christmas and goes through February, so you won’t be alone and prices are at their yearly peak. The good news is that things are still far cheaper than pretty much anywhere else in the world.

Boracay Island, Philippines

Prices for food and hotels here are bargains, even in high season like February, although getting here can be a bit tricky. Nearly every hotel is on or within a 1-minute walk of the beach, so you can stay at almost any of them and feel like you are in a desirable and luxurious spot. Most people are happy to just relax on the sand of White Beach, but there are loads of water sports, activities, and excursions available, not to mention excellent wind-surfing on the east coast of the island, which is only 10 minutes away on foot.

More package tourists pour in every year and more hotels for them are built, but there are still many backpacker-style guesthouses around, including some very cheap ones right on the beach if you know where to look. In Calungute and Baga it might feel like prices are only a bit cheaper than in, say, Spain, but if you go to Anjuna or Vagator and find a family-run hotel and eat in local restaurants you’ll be spending a fraction of that. If you are in the area it’s a must to stop off here for at least a few days, so it’s good to know that at least this is the driest time of year.

Even though this is part of the high season it’s the late part so you can find good deals here at hotels if you look around and book early. There are plenty of cheap guesthouses for the backpacker crowd, even if you arrive without a reservation, but all the best places are booked up well in advance this time of year. Food and drinks are very cheap here all times of year as long as you avoid the hotels and shop along Pub Street instead.

I am glad India is also one of the places to visit in winter in February.

This list is a travel agent list. Just be aware of that. There is no mention of San Diego…..hello…remember San Diego on the border with Mexico. Beautiful weather and great prices on hotels in February. Lot’s to do and you can do all sorts of world class things whilst your here. This must be an East Coast written article, because it ignores Hawaii and San Diego, must better places then anywhere in Mexico.

Some people read an article title and then form an opinion for a comment without reading the article itself. You seem to have also skipped the title. This article is about “cheap” destinations with great weather, which is why San Diego and Hawaii aren’t listed. Lisbon, Portugal

Simply walk the winding, picturesque cobblestone streets of Lisbon, lined with shops, restaurants, fountains and statues of leaders and poets. Step into a bakery to sample a pastel de nata (egg custard tart) for only 1 euro, or stop at one of the many stands to down a shot of ginja, the signature Portuguese cherry liquor (served in a tiny chocolate cup) for about 1.20 euro. Cartagena, Colombia

It's the cheapest day out for a family of four compared with other top U.S. amusement parks , with the lowest daily food spend ($26.32), the lowest average daily cost for park tickets ($160 for a family of four) and hotels at just $79 per night. Want to make a week of it? Cedar Point, Ohio, is about a three-hour drive from Mason and came in a close second, with a daily average ticket price for a family of four at $180.

Mexico City, Mexico

While Mexico has a long list of popular travel destinations , we find this North American city to be a great bang for your buck. There are plenty of historical sites to see throughout the area, including a host of world-class museums and amazing art centers in Mexico City with inexpensive admission fees. Plus, the exchange rate is more than 18 pesos to $1.

Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay

A hidden gem in South America, Uruguay is just a quick jump from better-known tourist spots, such as Buenos Aires, but is much more low-key and laid back. The exchange rate, from Uruguayan pesos to U.S. dollars, is currently 26 to 1, so Americans will get great value for the dollar when they visit. In particular, the historic city of Colonia del Sacramento is a phenomenal place for history buffs to revel in relics of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The well-preserved urban landscape has landed the city on the World Heritage List, offering historic walking tours of the cobbled streets flanked with colorful homes, restaurants and shops. In the warmer seasons, residents throw block parties, at which you can enjoy homemade Uruguayan street food. And even if you're dining at restaurants, an entire day of eating could cost you less than $10.

Lodging options range from small boutiques for about $50 per night to hotel chains, such as Sheraton, for around $160 per night. Round-trip flight prices tend to average about $540. And since the country is in the Southern Hemisphere, their summer high season is December through February, which makes it one of the best travel destinations during winter . If you want to get the best deals and pleasant weather, plan to visit in November or March.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

It's easier (and way more affordable) to visit Puerto Rico than you may think. Since this beautiful tropical island is part of the United States, you don't have to pass through customs, exchange money or even bring a passport to visit. And once you arrive, there's plenty of inexpensive entertainment, including some of the best all-inclusive resorts .

Puerto Rico is home to a bounty of stunning (and free!) beaches, especially in the main arrival city of San Juan, one of the best places in the U.S. for a cheap beach vacation . While in town, be sure to explore the historic architecture of Old San Juan and Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a citadel built between the 16th and 18th centuries. When you're ready for lunch, try a tripleta , a popular (and massive) Puerto Rican sandwich of marinated meats that costs about $8 at one of the city's food trucks.

Although we've seen round-trip airfares for around $200 from the East Coast, it can be especially handy to use your points or  credit card travel rewards to fly down to Puerto Rico. Hotels will cost most during peak winter and spring break periods. You'll also want to avoid the late summer and early fall because of hurricane season. But weather during the rest of the year is downright beautiful.

Bangkok, Thailand

Book a trip to the mystical country of Thailand, one of the most underrated travel destinations in the world. Known as the Land of Smiles, this Southeast Asian trip of a lifetime is complete with relaxing, adventurous, culinary and cultural experiences, all of which are totally budget-friendly. The most affordable city when it comes to travel is Thailand's capital of Bangkok. It's a city sometimes associated with its backpacking scene , however according to a luxury-on-a-budget survey by money.co.uk, Bangkok was the cheapest city in the world for luxury car rentals, Michelin-starred meals and five-star hotel stays, with the cheapest luxury hotels starting at $110. As far as getting there, we found flights for $860 round trip from the East Coast in the late spring (you'll want to avoid visiting during the steamy mid-summer months).

Once there, travelers can take advantage of other affordable luxuries, such as authentic Thai spas (at $10 an hour), incredible local cuisine for just a few dollars and a tuk-tuk ride (motorized three-wheel rickshaws popular around the city) for just $1.50 to see the golden temples that line the Chao Phraya River.

Toronto, Canada

Cosmopolitan Toronto, one of the most popular destinations in Canada , is just a 90-minute trip from 60% of the United States, so it's easy to reach for many vacationers. Plus, the U.S. dollar is strong against Canadian currency, so it will feel like the whole city is on sale. And according to Kayak, Toronto is one of the top cities for great hotel and airfare deals, with overnight stays averaging $202 a night and airfare about $375 round trip.

While you're there, head to the top of the CN Tower to take in the amazing views. Then, head to the neighboring Ripley's aquarium where you can ride the moving sidewalk through a shark tank. Both are included in the Toronto CityPASS, which features admission to five top attractions for a discounted rate and starts at just $56. The warmer months are peak season to visit Toronto, but they're also when you can take advantage of the city's most notable free attraction: the downtown beaches of one of the Great Lakes , Lake Ontario. Catch some summer rays here with the whole family.

Cape Town, South Africa

South Africa is without a doubt a bucket list destination  and was named one of the best places to travel in 2023 . But can it be affordable? We think so! If flying to South Africa has seemed too prohibitive to keep you from visiting the Rainbow Nation, think again. Recently, both Delta and United have introduced non-stop flights to the country, creating competition on the routes and in turn, making airfare cheaper than we've ever seen—especially in the off-peak seasons of late spring and late fall, when rates dip well below $900 round trip. After you arrive, the exchange rate of nearly 18 rand to the dollar means that most hotels can cost $100 or less. Gourmet restaurants and award-winning wines are also affordable at every budget.

Head to Table Mountain and overlook the city of Cape Town. Visit Robben Island and take in its rich multi-layered history. Explore the surrounding Cape Town Winelands, a beautiful region known for its exceptional vineyards, picturesque settings and history. And then take a day trip to Cape Point to see African penguins, zebra and other wildlife.

Antigua, Guatemala

If you're looking for the next cool city in Central America, head to Antigua in Guatemala (not to be confused with Antigua, the tropical island in the Caribbean). This well-preserved colonial town also happens to be near an especially hot attraction—it's surrounded by the Pacaya volcano. For as little as $22, you can have a local guide take you on a half-day walking tour of the volcano, complete with park entry fee, a water bottle and transportation to and from your hotel. Travelers who pack marshmallows and skewers can even roast them with the heat emanating from the volcano—now that's a once-in-a-lifetime activity at one of the natural wonders of the world .

Hotels here run about $118 per night, and average airfare is about $340 round trip. November through March is the best time to visit to avoid the muddy wet season; however, you may pay a bit more to visit during this time. To get a deal and avoid the rain, try a visit just before November or after March, in the shoulder season.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Flights to Las Vegas are affordable year-round from most regions, especially if you know the best travel tips . CheapAir.com recently listed Sin City as one of its top spots for culture, cuisine and adventure that you can visit without breaking the bank.

Dining and accommodation can be had for a song, even if you're not a high roller, with five-star hotels offering rates just over $100. Depending on the time of year, airfare here tends to start at $160 round trip on budget airlines , such as Spirit, and you won't even need a rental car during your stay, since there's a free shuttle to take you up and down the Vegas strip.

Page, Arizona

This desert spot takes the top spot when it comes to cheap places to travel, especially thanks to its affordable accommodations and stunning Arizona road trip scenery. The average price for a weekend hotel in this northern Arizona town is just $74 per night, making it a solid fit if you're looking for a budget vacation out West. Want to take an affordable vacation in 2024? You’ve come to the right place. Although travel costs are on the rise this year ( up 3.1% ), it’s still possible to save money in 2024—if you know where to go.

A new travel report from the U.K.’s Post Office —a British-based mail and financial services company — has just unveiled some of the most budget-friendly destinations for 2024. And although the annual report is aimed at U.K. travelers, it’s a helpful list for Americans, too.

By analyzing currency strengths, local prices and essential tourist expenses in 40 popular vacation destinations around the globe, the Holiday Money Report 2024 highlights some of the cheapest places to travel. The report ranks the destinations based on a barometer that takes the local price of eight tourist essentials into consideration—including coffee, beer, cola, wine, water, sunscreen, insect repellent and a three-course meal. And while the report doesn’t include factors like hotels and airfare, it helps give a good sense of where your dollars will stretch the furthest.

This is the 18th year that the Post Office has done this report. And the good news: Prices have fallen since last year in 25 spots on the list. (A note that the original report included prices in pounds sterling, which have been converted into dollars here, using the exchange rate on the date of publication of 1.26.)

Leading the list as the cheapest place to travel right now is Hoi An, Vietnam. According to the Post Office report, a total estimated cost of just $64.51 a day for the travel essentials makes this charming gem the ultimate bang-for-your-buck destination that won’t break the bank. Located on the central coast of Vietnam, Hoi An entices visitors with its UNESCO -recognized Ancient Town, a picturesque spot where lantern-lit streets lead to quaint shops and street food stalls. It is also convenient to stunning white-sand beaches—some of the most beautiful in Asia .

In a surprising twist, Tokyo, Japan—a bustling metropolis where tradition meets modernity—secures the fourth spot on the list. According to the Post Office, just $74.43 a day is needed for essential tourist purchases. Helping drive this ranking was the cost of a glass of wine (an average of only $4.56) and a bottle of water (averaging 77¢).

Rounding out the top five is the Algarve in Portugal, which combines culture, history and natural beauty at a fraction of the cost compared to previous years. With its sun-drenched beaches, charming villages and delectable seafood, the Algarve offers an idyllic escape for travelers seeking an affordable yet enriching getaway.

Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English.
