There are many different types of RVs around, some more basic than others. I like RVing with comfort and a bit of luxury too, as it makes for a better time out on the road! Finding the best luxury travel trailers may sound difficult, but they do exist, and if you have the budget, it’s possible to find the rig of your dreams for sure!

Our comprehensive guide to the best luxury travel trailers should provide a key insight into exactly what these types of impressive rigs are capable of, and which ones are best suited to you and your needs. If you’ve just started out RVing, try not to be put off by all the trailer options available! It’s simple to narrow down to the exact type of vehicle you need for all your RVing plans.

Let’s get started, and enjoy some of the luxurious options on this travel trailer roundup!

What Is A Luxury Travel Trailer?

A luxury travel trailer is a type of trailer that’s manufactured by almost all trailer brands. These luxury options are offered as their own distinct models, and these models include many upgraded and high-quality features not normally offered in lower-priced models.

It can be anything from higher-end interior design to more features included in the price than most bargain models. You may be paying for more technology throughout the rig, or more durable and stable materials throughout your trailer .

A luxury travel trailer always has a higher upfront cost, but it’s a great option for those hoping to camp in comfort and style. Many luxury travel trailers have the feel of a traditional home, and this is appealing to a wide range of RVers!

What To Look For In A Luxury Travel Trailer?

Shopping for a luxury travel trailer can be overwhelming, especially if you don’t know quite what you’re looking for yet. Here’s a short list of potential things to keep an eye out for as you begin your search!

Floor Plan Or Layout

Your rig’s overall floor plan and layout are a huge part of shopping for a travel trailer. You may not know what you need at first, but start your considerations here: are you shopping for a travel trailer for your family, or just you and your significant other ?

Many travel trailers have multiple floor plan options, especially luxury rigs. Some are more customizable than others, with nonstandard features like theatre seating and bunk beds able to be added to your overall total.

Your layout will affect your overall camping experience, especially if you would like your trailer to have room for the whole family. Would you like a master suite with a closing door? How about minimal stairs so Grandpa and Grandma can safely navigate your rig?

No matter your desired layout, there’s a travel trailer to meet those needs. It may take some time to find it, but you can always be in contact with your trailer manufacturer about your desires. A convenient floor plan is number one in my book!

Bathroom Options

Choosing a luxury travel trailer with a bathroom isn’t difficult, but finding a bathroom to suit particular wants and needs may be harder than you think. Some luxury rigs are outfitted with standard-sized bathrooms, and some may even have bathtubs!

If you are traveling with a group, you may want a travel trailer that has two bathrooms onboard , another possibility for you to consider. If you and your partner want your own master suite with another bathroom for the rest of your guests, this is an option with some luxury floor plans.

Most luxury travel trailers have dry baths instead of wet baths , meaning you won’t have any trouble having separate features rather than just one room with a showerhead in it. There are many layouts that feature a separate toilet area, which can be helpful for many passengers.

Luxury rigs may also offer special bathroom features such as heated floors and towel racks, as well as skylights and double vanities. The sky’s the limit when it comes to luxury rigs- well, that and your budget!

Building Materials

Most travel trailers are built with reliable and durable materials. However, some are better than others, and luxury RVs should be built to last. Choosing an RV brand that’s known for its reliable building materials is a good place to start.

Choosing an RV with long-lasting building materials is always a good idea, as this extends your overall investment. You may have a certain material in mind, such as aluminum or fiberglass. Both come with their own pros and cons.

You should always look for a rig with high-quality insulation, no matter where you plan on camping. Many luxury RVs have reliable insulation for both warm and cold weather applications, and some will even have heated floor and heated holding tank options for extreme cold.

Standard VS Optional Features

One of the most time-consuming processes of purchasing a new RV? Deciding what features you would like to add on both the inside and outside of your rig!

There are always standard features on any RV, but these features will vary depending on the model type as well as the manufacturer of your rig. Luxury rigs often have more features available standard than other lower-priced RVs.

Many optional features have to do with the available technology on your rig, such as Bluetooth or wireless capabilities, as well as the internet. You may also have off-road or boondocking options, such as solar panels and a higher chassis.

If you plan on living in your rig as a full-timer, would you like access to laundry facilities in your rig? How about a chef’s kitchen? There are many features to consider before making your final decision, but there’s definitely a rig out there for you!

Warranty Options

If you are investing in a luxury travel trailer, finding a brand that offers a comprehensive and useful warranty may be high on your list. That’s why knowing your warranty options before you buy is important for any RVer, new or old!

Some rigs may have multiple warranties, some for structure, chassis, and tires, and others may have interior or electric warranty options. Your luxury rig deserves the best protection and should be backed up by a reliable warranty.

Any RV manufacturer should be upfront regarding their available warranties, but you should also be prepared to ask them any questions that you may have regarding your desired rig. Your safety and investment should be a priority to any RV brand!

Good Brands Of Luxury Travel Trailers

Speaking of RV brands, what might some good and reliable luxury travel trailer brands be? Let’s go over some of my favorite choices together.

One of the oldest travel trailer brands on this list, Airstream is known for its trademark appearance. These silver bullets have been gracing campgrounds and highways since the 70s, and they are making them better than ever before.

If you’re looking for an aluminum travel trailer , Airstream is one of your best options. Their price points are on the more affordable end of luxury, and their history and customer satisfaction simply can’t be beaten.

With enough floor plans to make you dizzy, Keystone offers a decent number of luxury rigs, all with features that will make you feel right at home. Started in 1996, Keystone is a company that stands for maximum features without a high price tag.

You’ll have plenty of choices to make if you go with a Keystone, and I consider this a huge positive when it comes to RV shopping. Keystone wants you to have exactly what you want, without breaking the bank!

Grand Design

While a relatively new company, Grand Design has quickly risen through the ranks of reliable luxury travel trailer brands. Started in 2012, Grand Design committed to becoming a resource for RVers across the nation.

Their primary goal? To keep in touch with RVers as they journey, Grand Design welcomes any and all feedback regarding their rigs in order to keep making the best and longest-lasting rigs out there.

A division of Forest River RVs, Palomino is a great choice for a luxury RV. While they don’t make very many rigs, each one is specially manufactured with the consumer in mind, and Forest River’s reliable construction is at the heart of all of their RVs.

Palomino RVs are designed with comfort and traditional home living in mind. They have many features inside of their rigs that give each one a unique and homey touch. Plus, there are plenty of floor plans to choose from so that you can satisfy the whole family!

One of the most popular RV brands in the business, Jayco makes an RV suitable for any and everyone. From lightweight toy haulers to Class A’s, Jayco has a rig that suits your sensibilities- and did I mention they have a great selection of luxury travel trailers too?

Jayco is known for its reliable and industry-setting durability, as well as their attention to detail. They use custom woodwork in most of their RVs, as well as stone and tile work that could be found in a traditional home.

What To Consider Before Purchasing A Luxury Travel Trailer?

From brands to layout requirements, there is so much to consider before purchasing a luxury travel trailer. What else should you keep in mind while shopping? Read on…

How Many People Can Sleep Comfortably?

Before you get too ahead of yourself, take a moment to consider how many people you are planning on camping with at any given time. While you may not know this number right off the bat, it is important that you have enough sleeping areas for your immediate family .

Most luxury rigs offer many sleeping arrangements and options, but it is important to get a large enough rig for everyone to feel comfortable. If it is just you and your partner, finding a smaller RV will be no problem.

However, if you have a family of five or even more than that, finding a larger luxury rig should be a consideration for you. There are usually different layouts that support this, and sleeping arrangements can be found in the form of bunk beds and fold-out sleeping areas.

Luxury Features And Options

We’ve already touched on this but you should keep in mind what luxury features and options you may be looking for. Are you hoping for a spacious bathroom or a residential kitchen? What about a fireplace or walk-around king bed?

No matter what you are looking for, there’s bound to be a rig out there that has it. It may take some searching, but you should be able to find what you are looking for so long as you know what features you desire most!

Tow Vehicle Capacity

If you are shopping for a luxury travel trailer and you already own a vehicle that you plan on towing with, it is important for you to learn your tow vehicle’s capacity.

There are many different weights and numbers to learn when you are first learning how to tow, and it is important to never tow an RV that weighs more than your vehicle’s towing capacity. A 30-foot travel trailer may weigh far more than you think, especially once it is full!

Many luxury rigs are also heavy, depending on their contents and design. Most RV manufacturers assume you will have a tow vehicle that can handle the weight, so keep this in mind when you are shopping (especially if you already own a tow vehicle).

While luxury goods come at a high price tag, having a realistic budget in mind before you start shopping is important. RVs can cost more than you think, especially if you plan on adding many non-standard features or accessories.

Not only will the RV manufacturers have their opinions about add-ons, but you will also find that RVs need a lot of gadgets and accessories so that you can safely travel, park, and hitch up. You may wish to purchase reliable wheel chocks or additional stabilizers .

Many luxury RVs have extras and more perks than a more modest model, but it is always important to stick to your budget. The last thing you want is to overspend and then not have enough money to travel!

How Often The RV Will Be Used

Buying a luxury RV is a joy and an exciting time- the last thing anyone wants is to spend the money on such a nice rig and then never use it.

Are you planning a luxury RV purchase, but only so you can tow your travel trailer around twice a year? Or are you prepared to live in luxury full-time? No matter the amount, it may be important to consider how often you will use your travel trailer before purchasing one.

Some luxury rigs have full-timers in mind; others are simpler and less expensive, meaning you don’t have to feel as bad about not taking it out every single weekend. If you plan to use your rig often, think about that before making a final decision.

Length And Weight

Just like you shouldn’t purchase a rig that is too heavy for your tow vehicle, you should consider the overall length and weight of your luxury travel trailer a decisive factor before purchasing. Why might this be, especially since you could buy something that’s big and heavy?

Well, owning a heavy and long trailer can be more difficult to control on the road , and the longer the rig, the more issues you will have when it comes time to park and camp with it. Some RV parks and campsites have length limits to their rigs- that’s the last thing you need after towing all day!

Choosing a luxury rig means you are getting a well-built and well-appointed RV, no matter the length and weight. Consider where you plan on traveling, how many people are coming with you, and your overall towing experience before making your final purchase.

Boondocking Capabilities

Speaking of knowing where you plan on traveling, dry camping or boondocking is all the rage right now. If you plan on unplugging and boondocking in your luxury travel trailer, you should make sure that the rig you are looking at has such capabilities.

For example, you may wish to add more solar panels via the RV manufacturer, or even an extra battery built for boondocking . There are larger holding tank options as well, or even off-road packages for the adventurer in you!

The Best Luxury Travel Trailers

I’ve made you wait long enough. Surely you have a good idea of what you are looking for in a luxury travel trailer, from the optional features to the interior design. Now let’s take a look at some of my top picks for the best luxury travel trailers.

Best Overall: Jayco Eagle

While every RV has its foibles, Jayco has proven decade after decade their rigs are reliable, perfect for resale, and, most importantly, luxurious. The Jayco Eagle is no exception.

Eagle is one of the longest-running, most successful RVs on the market and continues to be one of the most popular in its class year after year. Equipped with the very best features and full of innovation, the Eagle makes for a downright luxurious experience to transform any adventure.

The latest edition of this classic travel trailer features redesigned bathrooms, a smart TV upgrade, and a new solar power option which I think is an awesome option, making this rig more suitable for boondocking and wild camping. The mandatory luxury package features some impressive additions, such as a second power awning with dimmable LED lighting and a second 15,000 BTU “Whisper Quiet” A/C unit.

Both of these add an extra high-end touch to this Jayco trailer, and help make things far more comfortable in summer when the sun is beaming down! Every Jayco trailer comes with their patented JAYCOMMAND “Smart RV” system to make things easier when out on the road. The luxury package continues, offering an LED fireplace with a 5,000 BTU electric space heater, a clean Drinking Water System, as well as ample solar prep.

I’m drawn to the kitchen as it features a 21 cu. ft. residential refrigerator along with solid-surface countertops matched with a bamboo sink cover and strainer. Together, these create a sleek kitchen aesthetic that makes me want to get cooking! I also like the spacious living area equipped with blackout roller shades giving me and my partner the privacy we want, living full-time on the road.

There are only two floorplans for the 2023 Jayco Eagle, and both have an overall length of 40′ 1″ which is pretty long! This may be a bit too big of a travel trailer… I’d need plenty of practice to tackle maneuvering this RV! However, the impressive length means this trailer is more than capable of fitting several individuals on board, including friends, family, and even furry companions!

I could continue to list features about the Jayco Eagle, but there’s simply too much to comment on, hence why it’s our overall best choice for a luxury travel trailer. From Jayco’s industry-leading manufacturing and warranties to main interior features, the Eagle is a spacious and luxurious choice for any camper- and fairly affordable at that!

Most Floor Plans: Keystone Cougar Half-Ton

With 23 available floor plans, the Keystone Cougar Half-Ton luxury travel trailer is a winner in my eyes, as often it can be hard to find exactly what I want from an RV! It’s even a great full-time trailer, with luxury features including washer-dryer prep, theatre seating, and bunk bed options too if multiple travelers are jumping on board!

Towable by most of today’s half-ton trucks, this collection of Keystone Cougar luxury travel trailers is designed for maximum camping flexibility and a range of RVers too. Varying in length from 26′ to 37′, it shouldn’t be too tricky to find a tow vehicle able to bring this rig along for an RV adventure. I think the lightweight nature of this trailer is also a big bonus as no model weighs over 10,000 lbs dry, so it’s relatively easy to tow!

With all of Cougar’s premium features, like full auto-leveling , and the brand’s boondocking-friendly solar power prep and larger tank capacities, these RVs are equally at home at the campground or off-the-grid. This provides the flexibility I need to either camp at an RV park or out in the wild somewhere, knowing I can bring ample water along, and be supported by renewable energy from the sun.

Each floor plan comes with a fireplace and vaulted ceilings, and some of the longer rigs can sleep up to 12 people! Keystone offers some industry exclusives for all of their rigs, including a 3-year limited structural warranty, a 1-year limited base warranty, and 4G LTE and Wi-Fi prep. It’s warranties like these that make me feel supported and backed by RV manufacturer brands, and something I keep an eye out for when I’m browsing different RVs.

Besides lovely and homely interior features, Keystone offers durable materials as well, such as water-resistant flooring, uniform, and color-coded wiring, a climate guard package, and enhanced slide-out stability and weatherproofing. This allows the Cougar to be ready for whatever the weather throws, and means every step has been taken to stop water creeping inside the trailer!

All in all, the Keystone Cougar is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a variety of floor plans to compare and contrast with. There are spacious bathrooms, walk-around king beds, and full-size residential kitchens. Everything you’d expect in a luxury rig!

Best For Boondocking: The E-RV

It’s hard to find a luxury travel trailer blending sustainability with functionality and luxury, but the E-RV is in a league of its own, as it’s the world’s first all-electric RV! While most luxury rigs offer boondocking capabilities, the E-RV is made entirely for dry camping and doesn’t skimp on style or comfort, for a great RV vacation.

This RV is one of the best examples I’ve seen for providing a truly off-grid adventure whilst also providing the luxuries and practicalities of domestic living. The E-RV has been specially manufactured as an energy-efficient, sustainable home on wheels, powered by sun rays and nothing else! Technology is constantly developing, and creations like the E-RV are paving the way for change, reducing our impact on the planet, one rig at a time!

The composite-constructed cabin offers superior insulating properties, allowing the RV to be cool in summer and cozy warm in winter. I find it extraordinary that this trailer is capable of effectively processing its own energy, remaining carbon neutral, and being clean for Mother Earth. There are simply countless perks of the luxurious E-RV, including full off-road independent suspension as standard, perfect for off-road driving in rugged terrain.

There’s also a semi-off-road independent suspension, offering incredible support and the ability to power through to off-grid spots hidden in the wilderness. Although it’s an additional purchase which is a bit disappointing since this rig is pretty pricey, I would opt for the 65ltr fresh water tank as it can help extend dry camping for a few days. The overall battery capacity and solar capabilities have been tried and tested over 20,088 miles and 176 days through the toughest conditions only to exceed all expectations, so I trust this rig to power everything we need!

While having an all-electric rig for adventures sounds bare bones, the interior of these rigs is lovely. Designed in a classy black and white motif, the finishing touches on this rig are crisp and inviting, making it feel more like a proper home .

Best With Two Bathrooms: Palomino Puma Destination

Finding an RV equipped with two bathrooms can be tricky, especially if there’s a budget to stick to! But sometimes an extra bathroom is a necessity, and that’s where the luxurious Palomino Puma Destination comes in. There are a few different floor plans to choose from, and as the Palomino is a Forest River subsidiary RV, there’s a big name backing this RV.

I like the versatility of this rig. It’s great for a family vacation, a weekend at the lake, a trip to the mountains, or even a quiet refresher at the campground . There’s so much I love about this rig, from the spacious and airy interior to the multiple comfy seating areas. Not every floorplan of the Palomino has two bathrooms, however, the 39DBT has two showers on board!

There are also various bedroom options, some floorplans including more than one, which is great for me as I sometimes struggle to find space when my friends or family come to visit. Each layout comes with residential-style furnishings and a large master bedroom with a king-size bed to ensure a comfortable and relaxing getaway.

There are loads of standard features onboard this travel trailer, including solar prep, an outdoor shower, built-in knife and spice racks, and wardrobes in each bedroom, along with residential carpeting throughout. I’m a bit of a sucker for vinyl or hard flooring in an RV as they are easier to clean than carpet, but I guess carpet is cozier for winter! The interior design of the Puma Destination is very fresh and sleek with a luxurious edge, but it’s also still homely so everyone will feel comfortable inside.

The exterior has many safety features, including a sturdy powder-coated frame, backup camera prep, and more. Plus there are large pass-through storage compartments so the whole family can come along, as well as everyone’s gear!

Most High Tech: Living Vehicle Pro HD Model

Similar to the E-RV, the Living Vehicle Pro HD Model is in a different classification from many typical travel trailers. Their tagline is quite literally “Luxury Unplugged”, and I believe they have every right to claim that title! This rig is designed for off-grid travel and has innovative technology to back it up. Not only is this trailer capable of supporting off-grid adventures, but it also functions in remote environments with its own sustainable power source.

Living Vehicles are custom-built and fully customizable, so it’s effortless to create a rig of dreams. All of this does come at a high price, but for such a unique and capable RV, it’s hard to be surprised! This rig is a stand-alone electrical powerhouse with an intentionally designed and integrated system with automotive-grade lithium technology and the highest energy density on the market.

I love the creativity of Living Vehicle, with some spaces capable of multi-functioning – something I think more RV manufacturers need to include in their RVs to make interiors more functional. The overall interior is just as impressive as the off-grid capabilities with this trailer, matching luxury with European fixtures, and high-end finishes – it’s more like a work of art than an RV.

This trailer may not look like other typical travel trailers, and although the slightly futuristic look may not suit everyone’s taste, I think it’s a welcomed change from other RVs. There’s also the ability to comfortably sleep up to four individuals, making this a rig ideal for small families. Sleep four people comfortably in your Living Vehicle, with separate sleeping spaces for each pair.

It’s effortless to adjust the dining table and rearrange the cushions of the lounge to create a comfortable queen-sized bed in the living area. Plus, there’s an optional sleeping bunk too! Convenience is essential for me in an RV, as I live on the road full-time and would rather not deal with the same problems over and over again each day. Therefore, I love the sheer amount of thought that must’ve gone into the making of each of Living Vehicle’s models as it shows they are thinking with RVers at the forefront.

This rig is made for full-time living, no matter the desired comfort level. The finishings are gorgeous- black walnut and teak, aluminum, and an abundance of windows truly make this RV anything but traditional.  The LV shell is the true foundation all systems and functions are built on. The shell features hybrid structural engineering solutions and no use of wood, which is a bonus in my eyes as it helps prevent rotting or mold growth .

The entire Living Vehicle structure (including the subfloor!) is made from solid aluminum, proven to stand the test of time, and last for many years of solid RV adventuring. If an RV like this is within your budget, there’s simply no better option for luxurious off-grid travel. There aren’t any other towable rigs like the Living Vehicle, however, the high price point is a bit of a sting and means this travel trailer won’t be within the reach of many RVers – certainly not me!

Most Homey Feel: Airstream Pottery Barn Special Edition

If you’re looking for luxury but also for comfort, you have to check out this Airstream collaboration between this notorious RV brand and Pottery Barn, a luxury home goods store. They have combined forces to create a truly special aluminum rig.

Comfortable, connected, and capable of letting you travel anywhere while feeling like you’re always home, the all-new Airstream Pottery Barn Special Edition Travel Trailer is a gorgeous, 28-foot travel trailer designed in partnership between two iconic brands.

Featuring custom furniture based on best-selling Pottery Barn designs, tailor-made storage solutions, and a timeless design aesthetic, the all-new travel trailer sets a new standard for a well-traveled life. And boy, does it look comfortable and chic!

Whether you choose the queen or twin bed floor plan, there’s room for sleeping up to five people. Both floor plans feature exclusive Pottery Barn bedding that lets you sink into total comfort at the end of an adventurous day. Pottery Barn brought to life the allure of their timeless aesthetic with a black pull-down faucet, a stainless steel flat apron sink, and a versatile cutting board sink cover. Featuring the most comfortable cushions to ever grace an Airstream, the arm hides an airline-style flip-out table.

With all modern conveniences like a shower, toilet, and sink, the onboard bathroom has a residential feel with a bowl sink, sleek faucet, and wall sconces. There’s even an included outdoor accessory kit from Pottery Barn- an awning, dinnerware, table and chairs, and more.

This rig isn’t all beauty- it also offers many of Airstream’s reliable safety features as well. A rear-view camera mounted to the travel trailer’s back shell gives you the perfect view for safely backing up. Airstream’s ducted air conditioning system quietly, quickly, and efficiently cools the interior of the travel trailer. It also features a heat pump for warmth in cooler temps.

While this rig does boast a higher price tag than most, having the option to purchase a special edition Airstream is a luxury, to be sure. Plus, with so many special features and subtle perks, this is a great rig to consider- especially since Airstreams are built to last.

Most Vintage Look: Bowlus Endless Highways Edition

No one loves a vintage rig more than me, and this Bowlus Endless Highways Edition is an absolutely stunning aluminum rig with a luxurious but classy edge. Nothing beats the shape of vintage travel trailers in my eyes, but I understand it’s not everyone’s taste! This rig only comes in one size so it doesn’t offer the versatility of other trailers on our list like the Keystone Cougar, but it’s ideal for solo travelers or couples.

A spacious, zen-like bedroom converts from two twins to an incredible king so I can open up the space when a friend comes over to stay and return the setup to a king when I’m back to solo traveling. The hotel-style en suite bathroom is a refreshing change from typical RV bathrooms and lets me feel like a queen on the road!  makes traveling to events a five-star experience.

This is an authentic rig full of unique touches I often struggle to find in other trailers. The main cabin has dining for four, all in beautiful wood grain bringing depth and warmth to the interior to avoid the often clinical look of some RVs . This Bowlus isn’t just about looks, though, as there’s a powerful lithium iron phosphate power system available with fantastic off-grid capability.

I enjoy being able to use whatever appliances I need in my RV whenever I want, so this powerful electrical system allows me to run the microwave, all of the outlets, and even the A/C for a few hours when relying on off-the-grid power. This can all be done conveniently using an app which is the kind of simplicity I’m looking for out on the road.

This rig also isn’t very heavy, with a GVWR of 4,000 lbs, so I can tow it using pretty much any crossover or SUV and even some EVs too.  The Bowlus’ reflective armor offers peace and privacy which is a must for me in any RV. The bedroom, bathroom, and main cabin can become their own separate spaces, making this 25-foot rig a versatile and unique choice. It’s on the smaller side, so isn’t suitable for large groups or families, but a couple of travelers will be able to make the most of the stunning Endless Highways.

Best For The Whole Family: Grand Design Reflection

Aluminum trailers have a retro feel that’s a winner for me, but for more modern aesthetics that the whole family can enjoy, the Grand Design Reflection is a great option. With up to 37 feet of length to appreciate, this rig has enough luxury and family-friendly features to make it a great choice for any family vacation.

The Grand Design Reflection combines luxury, value, and towability in one amazing package with a renowned customer service team and high-quality production of rigs. The Reflection is a top-selling name in North America and is a favorite of many full-times, given it has  great living arrangements. With a residential kitchen, on-demand hot water, double pane windows, and washer and dryer prep, this rig suits short trips as well as longer explorations.

The interior is roomy which is great for me with a big rescue pup on board! And I love that the living area has ample space for a sofa and theatre seating as it means the space can become a tranquil paradise when the sun goes down. With multiple wardrobes and pass-through storage areas, I can bring everything I want on board and don’t have to worry about won’t have to worry about mess or lack of organization!

There’s a pantry in the kitchen for storing extra goodies and baking ingredients, a delightful walk-around king or queen bed, a well-appointed outdoor kitchen for hosting friends for summer BBQs, and even a floor plan with bunk beds so the kids can get cozy too!  There are loads of standard and optional features as well, including solar prep and a comprehensive four-season package which I would opt for as I travel year-round on various terrains through various weather conditions.

Not only does Grand Design take extra care to build their rigs with quality materials- they then put each RV they manufacture through a pre-delivery inspection. With over 250 points of inspection involved in this process, I feel confident in Grand Design’s luxury travel trailers.

Most High-End: Luxe Gold Fifth Wheel

This is a list of the best luxury travel trailers, so I simply couldn’t leave this Luxe Gold Fifth Wheel out of the race! The construction of this trailer is unbeatable, with 3″ super composite welded aluminum cage walls and 2.5 graphite-infused closed cell insulation for optimal performance in various climates. The 12″ forged reinforced steel powder coasted l-Beam gives me the peace of mind I need to live comfortably and safely on the road.

To bring additional luxury to this trailer, the sidewalls and ceiling are soft touch, providing a feeling of opulence and comfort. The frameless thermopane windows offer plenty of natural light and make the space feel even bigger than it already is! The slides also help with this, but I would recommend taking care of the slides and maintaining them correctly for improved longevity and smoother operation.

This Luxe Gold Fifth Wheel trailer is one of the high-end options on our list, primarily because each of Luxe’s fifth wheels are built and delivered straight from the factory to the consumer, meaning you can’t find these rings just anywhere. I love that the materials used are of the highest quality and are modern, as it makes the rig feel like a home and not just any RV.

There are five floorplans available with this Luxe Gold beast, but the 41GMD is the only one with a vanity slideout. This obviously does mean the overall size of the rig is increased, but since it has a length of 36′ 9″ and a height of 13′ 3″, it’s already on the bigger side! There aren’t too many floorplans to choose from, and although it would be nicer to have a few more options, the layouts available still offer flexibility.

It’s awesome that this Luxe travel trailer has been configured to suit a range of RVers, and the 38GFB floorplan even has two bathrooms which are a game-changer for families or traveling groups. Each floorplan has a TV and fireplace for ultimate coziness, and for epic functionality, there’s a substantial-sized kitchen, washer-dryer prep, ample seating, and comfortable sleeping arrangements.

The only drawback to this luxury travel trailer is the price! These travel trailers aren’t cheap, but they are worth every penny for those able to afford them. For full-time living, vacations with the family, or a summer break at the coast, this Luxe Gold Fifth Wheel trailer might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Finding a luxury travel trailer should be a joy, not a chore. I hope you’ve found a winner on this list, and are already planning your first camping trip. Rest assured, you can camp in style, comfort, and luxury, you just need to take the time to find the right travel trailer.

What to Consider When Shopping for the Best Luxurious Travel Trailers

First of all, decide on the size and configuration of your RV. For example, do you want a luxury hotel suite for occasional use? Or do you want to live in a full-time mobile home? Next, consider how often you’ll go off-roading and boondocking and look for an RV that suits your lifestyle. Finally, read through reviews and chat with current owners to see how the RV meets expectations and what after-sales warranty and service support is like.

Travel Trailer Use

When shopping for a new RV, consider what you’ll use the RV for. Will you be living in it full-time? Will you just use it for long weekends? Will you be taking it on vacation? If you’re looking for a full-time residence, you’ll need more living and storage space. If your vacations include grandkids or friends, you’ll want to make sure you can accommodate everyone. You can get a smaller model if it’s just the two of you using the RV for an occasional weekend away.

How you plan on using the RV will affect the features you need and want. For example, if you plan on using the travel trailer lightly and prefer eating out at restaurants, you might not need a full-size kitchen. You may not need a washer/dryer combo if you just use the RV on weekends. The more time you plan on spending in your RV, the more features and upgrades you might need.

Boondocking Potential

Boondocking, or camping in remote places away from campgrounds, is a popular way to really enjoy the RV lifestyle. Boondocking allows you to enjoy pristine locations and connect with nature without distractions.

If you plan on boondocking, look for an RV that you can easily add solar power to. Most stock luxury travel trailers systems If you want to head off-road, look for an RV with high clearance and beefy tires.

Family Size

Like home shopping, one of the first considerations is overall size and accommodations. When home shopping, is a three-bedroom, two-bath necessary for your family, or could a one-bedroom condo suffice? When shopping for a luxury RV, consider how many people you need to accommodate. Is it just the two of you, with an occasional overnight guest? Are you traveling as a family? Do your kids need their own space, or can they share?

Some RVs are completely customizable. For example, you might be able to change a room that usually has a full-sized bed to a space with bunk beds. Or, you can add a sleeping loft to the living space or get a pull-out couch for extra sleeping accommodations.

Rig Capability

Another consideration when shopping for a luxury trailer is the rig’s overall set-up and capability. If you plan on driving highways and plugging into shore power, good gas mileage and ample accommodations might be at the top of your list. However, high road clearance and solar options might be of vital interest if you plan on off-roading or boondocking.

Overall Floor Plan and Luxury Features

The overall floor plan will be essential to your family’s enjoyment of the travel trailer. If you have mobility issues, look for a floor plan that doesn’t have levels or stairs. Some floor plans have minimal privacy and are more suited to a couple rather than a family. On the other hand, some floor plans feature more privacy with separate sleeping spaces.

Bedroom Design and Amenities

Many travel trailers are designed for a couple who occasionally host overnight guests. If you travel as a family, you might want an RV with separate bedrooms. If you travel full-time, privacy and convenience become more of a necessity. You don’t want to have to convert your dinette into a sleeping area 365 days a year.

The primary bedroom on luxury models will usually be a comfortable queen-size bed or even a king-size bed. This provides enough space to make you feel like you’re at home.

Bathroom Design

If you travel alone or with just one or two family members, a bathroom set-up should suffice. However, if you are traveling as a larger family, you might consider shopping for an RV with two bathrooms.

Some luxury RV models feature a master bedroom suite with en-suite bathrooms for extra privacy. The best luxury travel trailers have dry baths, which means the shower facilities are separate from the toilet area. Luxury features include skylights, vessel sinks, high-end flooring, and heated towel racks.

Luxury Kitchens

Luxury kitchens, also called galleys, try to recreate the space and convenience found in residential kitchens. For example, the nicest travel trailers often feature a full-sized residential refrigerator and freezer. These fridges have the option for luxury wood paneling to match the rest of the cabinetry. Cabinets are made from real wood, such as hand-rubbed maple.

Luxury RV galleys have microwaves, stoves, and ovens. Many galleys have kitchen islands. These offer excellent galley prep space but take away space from the dinette or lounge area. Countertops and sinks are made with high-end materials.

High End Travel Trailer Options

While luxury RV models feature upgraded flooring, hardwood cabinets, and LED lighting, there are usually many add-ons to choose from. For example, you can often customize the type of wood used in your kitchen cabinets, and choose the exact type of flooring.

Other luxury options include adding Bluetooth technology to appliances, washing machines, and kitchen upgrades. In addition, many luxury travel trailers help owners enjoy outdoor time with grills, one-touch electric awnings, outdoor tables, LED lighting, showers, and TV hookups.

Building Materials Found in Nice Travel Trailers

Luxury RV manufacturers use lightweight , strong materials with a focus on aerodynamics, insulation, and keeping climate control costs manageable. Manufacturers such as Airstream and Bowlus use lightweight, strong aluminum. Grand Design offers an Arctic Package with additional insulation.

Luxury RV manufacturers use premium materials in their interiors. Cabinets are made with real wood. Showers often feature teak seating and accents. Kitchens have stainless steel appliances and high-quality sinks.

Luxury Package Flooring Options

Many RVs feature hard floors, which are easy to clean. Carpet can feel great under bare feet, but it’s harder to keep clean, especially with kids and pets.

RV plumbing is a necessary but complicated system. If your trailer is intended for boondocking, it will often have bigger fresh water and wastewater holding tanks. Most luxury travel trailers incorporate on-demand hot water systems, so you’ll always have hot water available. In addition, luxury travel trailers often have outdoor showers.

Tow Vehicle Capacity

If you already own your tow vehicle or have the perfect one picked out, consider your vehicle’s tow capacity. Many luxury RVs are heavier than comparably sized budget RVs. Don’t just focus on the empty tow weight. Consider how much the RV will weigh when loaded with belongings and groceries.

Luxury Trailer Gas Mileage

How much gas you’ll use depends on your tow vehicle’s efficiency, your RV’s weight, and how aerodynamic your rig is. A large, heavy, 41-foot travel trailer will significantly reduce your tow vehicle’s gas mileage. A small, light, aerodynamic trailer will do better. If you choose a small, light trailer that you can tow it with a more efficient SUV, you’ll save a lot of gas money.

Figuring out your gas mileage and how much extra weight in your rig is worth extra consideration. There’s a definite give and take; you can find efficient SUVs that get good gas mileage, but once you attach a tow rig to them their mileage tanks considerably. In actuality, the most efficient and safest option for towing may be a large truck or even a semi for some of the biggest luxury travel trailers.

On the same token, you will sometimes find that Class A motor coaches come with more options and features than luxury towables. If you don’t already have a tow vehicle that you need to use, a Class A might provide more high-end options without having to worry about towing and gas mileage.

Travel Trailer Length

The longer your travel trailer, the harder it is to manage on the road. Parking a smaller rig is much easier than parking a massive trailer. In addition, a smaller rig is easier to find campsites for and easier to back up.

Of course, there is a linear relationship between the length of the trailer and how luxurious it really is. Luxury campers are usually longer than average. But there are plenty of smaller trailers and ultralight campers on the market now that are adding more luxury features.

Luxury travel trailers are more expensive than standard trailers. And, after adding in options and additional features, the costs can add up quickly. Once the purchase is finalized, you’ll still have a bevy of things to get to make your RV feel like home , like luxury bedding, kayaks, and RV grills .

Warranty Options

RV warranties can quickly get confusing. Some manufacturers offer a “stem to stern” warranty covering everything in the RV. Others offer separate warranties for the structure, chassis, tires, and electrical items. Some warranties cover structural faults but won’t cover appliances. Warranties usually have a fixed time frame and often have different time frames for different items.

Some warranties will transfer to second owners, and some won’t. Warranty administrators often request proof that you’ve followed recommended maintenance schedules to qualify for a warranty claim. Make sure you review warranty paperwork and know exactly what your warranty covers.

Another level of confusion is that luxury RVs roll off the factory with a ton of appliances and add-ons, and each one comes from a separate manufacturer. For example, your Dometic furnace is covered by Dometic’s warranty–not the RV company’s. While your RV manufacturer may help you navigate this, chances are you’ll wind up working directly with the appliance manufacturer for service or repairs.

Maintenance on High-End Travel Trailers

All trailers will need RV maintenance . After all, being on the road can cause additional wear and tear. Luxury RVs use higher-quality materials that should cause fewer issues. In addition, new luxury RVs often have lithium batteries that require less maintenance and have higher capabilities. However, you’ll still need to change your oil, check your tires, do brake maintenance, check your brake lights, and clean the slide-out seals.

Using a High-End Camper in All Weather Conditions

Like when driving a regular vehicle, you don’t want to drive in hazardous conditions. If there’s a thunderstorm that will cause limited visibility or slick roads, rearrange your planned trip to avoid the bad weather. Driving a car in dangerous conditions is risky, but driving a travel trailer in bad conditions has added problems. You are towing significant weight, so its harder to stop immediately if the car in front of you brakes suddenly.

Traveling during freezing temperatures requires additional thought. You don’t want to leave your trailer unheated as freezing temperatures could damage your plumbing. If you want a four-season trailer, look for a package with additional insulation and good heating options.

Many luxury trailers offer heated floors, radiators, reverse cycle A/C, heating pads on holding tanks, and heated underbellies. These additional features will make sure your trailer, plumbing, and appliances stay warm and operational even in the coldest temperatures.

Additional insulation with also help if you plan on using your trailer in very hot conditions. Most luxury trailers come with A/C to provide climate control.

Pros and Cons of Owning Luxury Pull Behind Campers

There are countless benefits of owning a luxury travel trailer. When you own a home on wheels, you can explore the country at your own pace. This isn’t camping, so there’s no stress over constantly finding hotel rooms and accommodations. A luxury camper makes you feel as comfortable as when you are at home, so there’s never any benefit to staying anywhere else.

In addition, you can bring your home to remote areas such as national parks and pristine beaches where there aren’t any hotels. You can visit busy locations and festivals without worrying about not finding a hotel room. Plus, when you bring your entire home, you don’t have to worry about forgetting that sweater or your laptop’s power cord.

Traveling in a travel trailer allows you to spend quality time with your family and travel at your own pace. Owning a luxury travel trailer means you don’t have to leave the comforts of home behind. Luxury travel trailers have all the features of a high-end hotel. In addition, they offer a high standard of cleanliness.

Built with high-quality materials, a luxury travel trailer travels well and doesn’t need constant maintenance due to cheap parts or poor construction. As a result, you can spend more time enjoying your travels and less time fixing things and paying for broken equipment.

Luxury travel trailers make life on the road comfortable. You can lounge and watch TV, enjoy outdoor meals, and relax under a one-touch electric awning. You can live and work in a beautiful home with solid, high-quality furnishings and enjoy continuous hot water and spa showers.

Luxury travel trailers are in high demand and retain a high resell value. In addition, they tend to sell quickly and don’t stay on the market long.

One of the main disadvantages is the higher initial price tag. With the added expense of stainless steel appliances, energy-efficient settings, and additional insulation, luxury travel trailers are more expensive than standard trailers. However, the added energy efficiency and resell value offer added value.

Top 5 Most Expensive Luxury Travel Trailers It Would Be Blissful To Have

By Kelly Beasley

Luxury travel trailers (bumper-pull) that are truly high-end are few and far between in the USA.

As a result, we only found a grand total of five luxury travel trailers. You could even say we only found four plus one sort-of luxury one.

We decided to stick with showing only USA-made products as it would be difficult to get or even see one from overseas.

Anyway, the five that exist are pretty impressive in their own right.

Without further adieu, let's dive in and see the best luxury travel trailers.

What Is A High-End Travel Trailer?

High-end campers have interiors and exteriors that consist of the highest quality components, opposed to the very low-quality most towable trailers are made from.

Not only do they look good, but they are also made to last, some even featuring marine-grade materials.

As we all know, yachts must endure one of the roughest conditions of all: salt water.

So, the amenities inside these high-end camper trailers possess the most luxurious materials one can source.

Even more importantly, the exteriors contain materials that will easily outlast your lifetime.

For example, they'll make the frame out of aluminum instead of steel so it will never rust.

The exterior walls are usually made from a yacht-like shell, fiberglass, aluminum, or stainless steel.

Water does not penetrate these models easily, and if it does, there's not much inside that can mold or degrade from it.

Luxury travel trailer brands also have a luxe look, inside and out.

Without further adieu, let's explore the five most high-end travel trailers your money can (or can't) buy.

The 5 Best Luxury Travel Trailers

Once again, there are some fabulous travel trailers out there.

They may look pretty luxurious and have super cool amenities inside.

But if they have poor longevity and cannot suit the most discerning wealthy person, they don't qualify.

Be aware that there are very few pristine manufacturers of premium travel trailers in existence.

RVs are notorious for poor quality.

That said, here are the five significant exceptions.

1. Living Vehicle

There is no arguing that the Living Vehicle is the most luxurious and high-tech luxury RV trailer ever built.

Their goal is to make it as electric-powered as possible, eliminating the need for propane or generators.

Hence, their motto "luxury unplugged."

This rig has features and styling you won't find in any other luxury camper trailer.

The luxury and comforts this one has are unheard of.

It has things like a side self-supported balcony that raises and lowers by a motor (not to mention almost zero travel trailer RVs have a balcony).

The bathroom's shower is spa-like. It features a walnut wood slat wall and floor and has a skylight above the shower.

Certain packages include a wall towel warmer.

The shower is at LEAST 7 feet high, so tall persons will have no problem in the shower or anywhere else in this rig.

Their solar array, battery, and power system are phenomenal.

Many fine details were implemented, such as not using fuses but instead using breakers.

It comes with a booster installed, a ceiling heater, and the air conditioning runs off the batteries, which is HUGE.

Every electronic device is wired to the internet cable so every electronic device in the rig is connected to the network.

This means you AND the company can access everything online.

What this also means is that you can control everything in your system remotely. It doesn't require WIFI to work.

They have double-decker solar panels that extend out to make an awning while also exposing the underneath panels.

The ceiling bed (above the dinette) option is unreal. If you get that package, you can sleep 6 in this high-end trailer.

The materials used in this one are marine-grade. There are so many details that make this one incredible.

Depending on which package you choose, you'll get somewhat non-standard RV things like:

  • Clothes washer and dryer
  • Water heater that gives you instant hot water
  • Three-stage water filter
  • Lots of storage

Living Vehicle packs more solar and lithium battery capacity than anything we've seen outside of a custom install.

If you can handle losing storage under the bed, you can opt for the office package.

The office package features an office 'under' the bed.

You lift up the bed like a Murphy bed, and under it is a shelf containing all your desk with plug-ins for your computer, USB ports, etc. Brilliant!

The home theater option in the bedroom comes with a 4K projector and a movie-style projector screen in the bedroom area.

The kitchen features a large sink and a three-burner stove that runs off of propane.

The kitchen area has ample counter space with a rolling island you can move out to the deck for counter space when you barbecue if you'd like.

They pack in a full-size residential refrigerator and a dishwasher.

Living Vehicle thought of just about everything, even down to an option for a private and cordoned-off cat litter box door leading to a hidden compartment for the litter box.

You then access that compartment from the outside, so you don't see it or smell the litter!

They even have an option with the app to monitor the temperatures inside the trailer, so you don't worry if it's too hot inside for your pets while you're away.

There are so many fantastic features to this top of the line RV we could go on and on about it.

But it would take forever. We've covered the big oohs and ahhs.

Watch the video below if you want to see it 'in real life.' It's worth it.

Used Living Vehicles range from $300,000 to $498,500, and we found a new one that had just sold for $639,800.

So, um, don't get your hopes up on getting one of these unless you're loaded!

Our Thoughts:

This Living Vehicle pretty much the perfect tiny mobile home, hands down, and they make the best luxury travel trailers money can buy.

One thing we wish they had done differently is to NOT put those horrible windows on that open maybe three inches.  Airflow is lacking with this type.

That said, there are a few exit windows that could be opened all the way out if needed.

Also, the stellar heating and cooling system should keep you comfortable if it's too warm.

2. Oliver Travel Trailers

The Oliver is a molded fiberglass camper that is made like a yacht and is another rig that will easily outlast your lifespan.

The quality inside and out is of the highest, making this one of the fanciest small travel trailers around.

They are very similar to a couple of brands you may be familiar with, the Scamp RV trailer and the Casita fiberglass trailer .

However, the Oliver is those RVs on steroids as far as quality goes.

It's almost as if they took the design of the Casita and decided to make the same thing but with premium materials.

The shell of Oliver camping trailers consists of four molds—two on top and two on the bottom. The top and bottom have an inner and an outer shell.

The 'guts' of the camper go in between the two shells.

Any water penetration goes out the bottom, where they install pre-made holes for any water to drain.

There is almost nothing structurally on this camper that can deteriorate outside of an accident that destroys it.

The interior resembles a yacht, much more so than the above brand. It consists of curved molds and white and shiny walls.

The rounded exterior makes it very aerodynamic and good for your gas mileage.

Also, the Oliver is very light but doesn't win the lightest small luxury campers award (GVWR = 5,000 to 7,000 pounds).

Cool Oliver options: You can upgrade to have weight sensors installed underneath your LP tanks.

The sensor tells you, through your phone, how full or empty your tanks are. The lithium pro package gives you lithium batteries.

The unit is a four-season rig.

The double pane windows and double shell design combined with insulating properties in between keep things very cozy inside.

Storage is ample with premium door, hinge, and locking mechanisms. Drawers have the soft-close feature.

The frame and entry steps are all aluminum, so there is no rusting.

Boondocking is a breeze with the Oliver in that tanks are large, you can have 30 pound propane tanks added, solar is an option, and the four-season build makes everything comfortable.

There's not much lacking in this camper.

We like the concept and high quality of the Oliver, but for us, it's a no.

The windows are so small that it just feels cave-like.

We prefer the ample windows the Casita has, though the Casita quality isn't as good and it isn't nearly as luxurious. To each their own!

The Bowlus is considered to be 'the original riveted aluminum trailer.'

In 1934, pilot and sale plane enthusiast Hawley Bowlus decided to build the first riveted travel trailer using the exact design mechanisms he used to construct the Spirit of St. Louis aircraft .

It is said that all riveted trailers were influenced by this design (Gee, wonder who they mean? LOL!).

They are built in southern California.

Their headline feature is likely their power system. True, you won't find many RVs with this much power storage potential.

The Bowlus Terra Firma model comes with 8-kWh of lithium-iron batteries.

Bowlus states you can stay off-grid for two weeks, but we all know this is 100% dependent on your power usage.

These expensive trailers come with all of the technology-laden basics you would expect in most luxurious travel trailers such as:

  •  HEPA filter with UVC
  • Water filtration system
  • GPS tracking
  • Fully heated floors throughout (the only travel trailer to boast such a luxury)

The unit is unique in its looks and one main design feature- the entry door.

They placed the door on the tongue of the trailer, so it's at the front.

Tongue entry is something we've seen in no other RV out there.

The Bowlus consists of one long hallway, though there are doors that can separate and close off one section from the other.

In other words, you can close off the bed area from the living room.

The bed at the back forms two twin beds, but you can also convert it into a king-size mattress .

Moving forward, you will pass through the bathroom area, where you have a full walk-in shower, finished in teak seating and flooring.

You'll get continuous hot water and Italian marine-grade fixtures.

Moving up to the living area, sofas or dining area convert into twin beds for additional sleeping capacities.

USB ports and outlets are plentiful around the dinette area.

The kitchen is in the front of these luxury travel trailers, and you pass through it when you enter.

They feature stainless steel countertops as well as the usual necessities you'd need in a kitchen.

It's a tiny area, don't expect the same room as you'd find in  luxurious fifth wheel campers .

The Bowlus has four models, all with identical floor plans. T he differences being the included features and technology.

Starting prices for the four different models range from $235,000 to $310,000.

Our thoughts:

The Bowlus lacks in the features and amenities of the other rigs. It just doesn't excite us and we're not a big fan of the super linear hallway throughout the entire trailer.

We're sure owners love the heck out of it. It is just not our style or flavor.

4. Airstream Classic

Speaking of riveted, Airstream took notes out of the Bowlus book.

The most popular and common riveted trailer, Airstream luxury pull-behind campers are iconic and often represent the American dream.

Airstream makes many different models in many different floorplans and lengths, but their Classic is the most expensive and luxurious.

It also happens to be their longest trailer in size, offering them in 30 and 33 foot lengths.

Airstream interiors are not only full of comforts, but they have a pleasing aesthetic.

More modern in design than most RVs, they feature high-quality materials such as solid surface countertops like Corian, Ultraleather seating, heated bathroom features, and handcrafted cabinetry (they make their cabinets in-house).

Propane tanks sit on a sensor, so you know how full or empty they are at any time by looking at your onboard digital controller.

You can also remotely look at your electronics system and control things using the Airstream App.

One thing Airstream offers that none of the others on this list is an awning package with awnings covering almost all windows (but no power awnings).

All windows open out for excellent airflow.

Airstreams are four-season units, and none of the trailers have a slide-out.

The Classic also features the continuous hot water feature for your comfort.

Their stainless steel sink is quite large, so you can easily wash your dishes.

You even get a doorbell with the Classic! That's fun. People love their Airstreams, and they are very nice trailers.

The Classic in 2022 starts at $188,100.

Kelly loves Airstreams. Marshall is more focused on that it's a Thor product, and quality is not where it should be.

But we both love the modern interiors, the look of the outside, and you will likely get your money back if you buy and then need to sell.

You at least won't lose much as these luxury travel trailers hold their value well!

5. Runner-Up/ Budget : inTech Terra

We included the inTech brand as they also use fiberglass and other long-lasting materials to make their trailers.

They are not a molded fiberglass design, but they use an aluminum frame and materials that will long outlast a regular trailer.

While they're not the most luxurious models, they are high on the list of trailers with luxurious features made from long-lasting materials and look high-end on the inside.

When looking at comparable lengths and features, this is the most affordable trailer on the list by far.

Starting with the frame, they use an all-aluminum, fully welded cage frame. It won't rust, and it's very lightweight.

With inTech, you have more size and floorplan options than any of the other manufacturers, as inTech makes four models of RVs:

The Flyer is the smallest, starting at 12 feet 4 inches, and Terra is the longest at 26 feet.

We'll focus on the Sol and Terra as they are most comparable to others on the list.

These inTech models have a unique look about them.

Most campers are square or teardrop-shaped. The inTech is  forward  shaped, attempting to utilize space over the tongue.

Their interiors are modern, bright, and sleek.

The materials used are above most regular box travel trailers, meaning there are no staples or cheap wood, etc. in this unit.

Of course, you get all the standard features you'll find in any complete RV, a dinette, bed, stove, refrigerator, pantry, etc. but you won't find the above and beyond features such as a cool deck or a huge power system.

Even so, you can bet your inTech will outlast your lifetime if you care for it and don't get it into an accident.

This one will turn heads and have people asking you who made the RV and where you got it.

We like the concept of these trailers, and the looks of them.

We're not sure they are as bombproof as they have fiberglass walls but not the one-piece shell that is so good at keeping water out.

That said, are there many components that can deteriorate if water penetration happens? We don't think so but are not 100% sure.

They are the most affordable on the list, so they are in much more realistic reach than the others which is appealing.

We'd own one, sure.

Today's high-end travel trailers are much nicer than most luxury hotel rooms and are miles nicer than most typical American homes.

In regular travel trailers, you might get a jackknife sofa, solar prep, or theater seating.

But in large and small luxury travel trailers, you're bound to find luxuries such as towel heaters, heated floors, complicated electronics systems, decks, multi-use areas, and high-end materials throughout (except for the last manufacturer on the list).

Personally, we're taken by the Living Vehicle. But holy cow, that price tag, ouch!!!!

At that price, I'd never want to take it out. It would be more like having a showpiece such as a collectible car.

Hopefully, you found something on this list to either dream about or to look into buying for yourself and adding to your big boy or big girl toy collection.

We hope you enjoyed this list!

5 Great Luxury Travel Trailers (High End RV Models)

luxury trailer

When you are looking for luxury, 5th wheels are the go-to travel trailer class.

Motorhomes have bulky components that take up a lot of potential living space.

By excluding those parts, fifth wheels have the capability of providing a level of luxury that the Class As, Bs, and Cs could only dream about.

My Favorite High-End Luxury Trailers

  • Grand Design Solitude Fifth Wheel

2019 Forest River Cardinal – 3350RLX

Keystone montana – 3561, 2018 keystone rv alpine 3800fk.

There are many positives and negatives to RVs of all types.

This creates a bit of subjectivity to the question of what is the best.

The better question might be, what is best for me.

That is how I approached the question. The trailers below are the trailers and some of the features that stood out to me . I’d be very interested to know what trailers you would pick.

Grand Design Solitude Fifth Wheel – 375RES (Floorplan)

Grand Design Solitude

(Full specifications provided here )

This Luxury trailer is priced just under $95,000 Although it can be more if you add additional features.

It is a is measured at just over 41 feet in length, so you might have some difficulty finding a lot in some of the older RV parks…However, that shouldn’t really be a surprise.

Luxury RV’s are not known for their modest sizes.

The floorplan that I am referencing in this list is just one of twelve, so there is a decent amount of customization.

There are three manufacturer warranties included with your purchase (12 Month Basic, 36 Month Structure, 12 Year Roof), so you are covered if you run into any issues.

The Features

Okay, let’s get to the fun part. Luxury isn’t luxury without being equipped with a batch of fantastically upgraded or unique features.

Kitchen Spaces

Why settle with one kitchen when you can have two?

The Solitude Fifth Wheel is equipped with an indoor and outdoor kitchen space.

The indoor certainly announces its high class highlights with a quality 3 burner stove, an oven space that you would typically find in a brick and mortar home, a convection microwave attached to the wall directly above, and to top it all off, a full-sized propane-powered refrigerator.

If you feel like a barbecue, then head outside to the extended L-shaped countertop space that offers more space than you are likely to need.

The grill space is incorporated into the countertops, and the hookups are notably convenient.

The storage space has been said to be industry leading, and I believe it. The footage is impressive.

It is presenting a large slide-out space that can easily fit at least two kayaks.

Interior Space

There are five power retractable slide-outs that give a tremendous amount of living space.

In the living room, there are 2 tri-fold sofas and 2 theater recliners that heated, can give a good massage, and are electrically powered. This area has a separating curtain to offer a bit of privacy.

How Many Can it Sleep?

There is one king size bed, one queen size bed, two sofa beds which is enough to comfortably sleep a total of 6 people.

Heater and Air Conditioning

Anyone that has spent some time parked in an RV lot can tell you that a good conditioning unit is the main component that separates a nice vacation from a trip to hell.

Some RV’s can feel like ovens, but this isn’t one of them.

The air conditioning unit is the most efficient in the industry, and it pumps out a rough 30,000 BTUs of cold air.

It is also one of the quietest air conditioners that you will come across, so that is a definite bonus.

Luxe Elite

When searching through the top of the line travel trailers , you begin to see a similar layout that seems to duplicate itself across all of the brands.

The most significant distinctions, to me, seem to be the things that an untrained eye might overlook.

That isn’t always the case though.

Occasionally, a brand stands out, and carves out a unique look.  Luxe is known for its quality designs and high end trailers. People are willing to pay for them because of that quality.

Like most of the luxury vehicles, you will find all the amenities that you would expect to find in a residential home.

The one difference, of course, is that you can pull this fully featured home anywhere you please and turn the great outdoors into your own personal backyard.

Heating, Cooling, and Insulation

The heater and air conditioning system is one of the most important features in every RV.

There is a lot that we can sacrifice for the good of space, but the capabilities of the environmental systems should never be one of them. In a luxury RV, this must be taken seriously.

Luxe succeeded in this by constructing a dual zone system that tackles the heating and cooling of each zone with independent units.

There are three air conditioners and each of them pump out 15,000 BTUs of cold air.

You’ll be thankful for that on a warm Arizona day.

For the colder northern winters, you’ll be taking advantage of the 2 furnaces.

Each one heats up its respective deck. However, it doesn’t just heat up the room, the underbelly of the Elite RV is filled with furnace warmed air to help keep your toes warm at night.

Of course, all of that heating and cooling will be wasted if you don’t have the insulation to maintain the temperature.

The design was well conceived your dreams of warm winter nights will come to pass.

The Thermopane windows are double-paned and airtight, so that should keep those wintery views on the outside where they belong.

There is also a layer of both thermal pack and fiberglass insulation wrapped around the roof, floor and chassis underbelly, so you’ve also got a double layer of the basics.

The Suspension is Phenomenal

I’ve read that one of the major causes of breakdowns in an RV are caused by the vibrations and shaking that happens during transit. If so, then a good suspension has a lot more value than just comfort.

Luxe excels in this arena by providing one of the most stable suspension systems on the RV market.

When Luxe talks about their products, one word that they love to emphasize is “residential.”

They worked very hard to provide the same level of convenience and quality of products that you would find for a stationary home, and from what I have seen, they did a good job.

The appliances are top notch.

The oven and stove have a 24″ cooking surface, so you shouldn’t have any trouble cooking a big meal.

A washer and dryer are included. They are located far enough away from the bedroom so that you can run the machines and still get some sleep.

High quality and easy to repair vinyl tiling.

It is a relatively simple process to swap out tiles, so you aren’t stuck with the scratches and dings that day-to-day life will inevitably create.

This is where the 42MD really stands out for me.

I am a heavily introverted person.

It is important for me to have a place where I can have a bit of solitude. I have that space with a bit of extra space provided by one of those amazing slide-outs.

The one downside is that I must share that space with a washer and dryer ,  but that is a small price to pay for the sanity that it provides me.

Forrest River Luxury Cardinal Trailer

(Full specifications posted here )

There is definitely a classy touch to the forest Cardinal. It is decorated with one of two real hardwoods, Walnut or Maple, or as some people have put it, light or dark.

Whatever your choice, you will appreciate the real wood after a scratch or two.

In contrast to the cheaper materials, hardwoods have the potential to look almost as good as new with just a little bit of love.

6 Point Auto-Leveling System and Hitch Height Memory

This is super convenient if you are constantly moving from one point to point.

It is the mundane and repetitive work that people often find drives them insane or evolves into a bit of a meditation…If you are the former, then you will appreciate the one-touch auto-leveling features.

Same Great Features as the other RVs

I don’t want to sound like a parrot, so I’m just going to group some of the listed benefits right here.

This luxury shares some features that you will commonly find amongst this RVs are part of the luxury class.

It has a gel paint coat, lots of storage, frameless windows, and all the quality appliances.

Like many of these RVs – It doesn’t come standard with a dishwasher , but it is an optional upgrade.

Keystone Montana 3561 Luxury Trailer

The sleeping capacity of the 3561 is a bit lower (Sleeps four) than some of the other RVs, but that may not be a bad thing depending upon your needs.

Everything is a tradeoff when it comes to the RV life.

From what I can tell the positive to this negative seems to be additional storage space, a nice sized shower, and a central vac system.

QuietCool Airconditioning System

There are some noteworthy conveniences to this RV. Cardinal opted for the QuietCool system that a lot of the luxury RVs have incorporated into their luxury lines.

It is worth mentioning that this quality system is desired for these 5th wheels due to the benefit that is their namesake.

These systems are well-known for being about 35% quieter than the standard cooling systems on the market.

Prepped for Future Upgrades

These luxury Cardinal 5th wheels are conveniently prepped for a couple upgrades.

The groundwork for a third AC and solar panels has been laid down which could save you thousands of dollars in installation costs.

A Couple Convenient Modifications

There are also a couple useful modifications that the Cardinal crew has made to the latest version of this RV.

The chosen standard oven has an electric lighter, so you can press a button instead of hunting for that matchbox. Sure, not a big deal, but I  love those little time savers.

The other modification is a swing arm door for the bathroom.

These doors work like a sliding door and like a normal swinging door, so that you can easily access the room from either side in the tiny hallway.

To hopefully explain, if opening the bathroom door is going to block you from entering; you can open it part way, and then slide the door open. That is kind of cool, right?

And of Course…

All the expected appliances that all of the other luxury RVs seem to incorporate into their designs.

who makes luxury travel trailers

Interior photo above is from 332oMK

And now for something a bit something. I wanted something a bit unique to add to this list, and I think that I found it.

Every other luxury fifth wheel seems to have the same basic floorplan, and I can understand why that is the case.

When you are working with the same puzzle pieces, you tend to put the same picture together. There is an ideal way to organize rooms and furniture to maximize the space.

However, everyone has different priorities, and that will translate into different floorplans.

This RV is another floorplan that isn’t meant for a big family.

A small group of four people is the ideal size for this model. Just like the other Keystone, this one is losing in one area to improve on another.

One of the defining features of this particular 5th wheel is the kitchen.

Instead of being located near the center entrance of the RV, Alpine has opted to put it in the front where the bedroom is usually located.

For a foodie like me, I can definitely appreciate giving the kitchen priority over the bedroom.

This gives the kitchen a prime viewpoint from the lead of the trailer.

The fridge is massive, so you shouldn’t have any troubles with space there.

There isn’t an island like most of the blueprints. You aren’t giving up any counter space though, so no real worries there.

Finally, I love the In-Command thermostat controls of this trailer.

RVs haven’t really seen much innovation in the gadgets department. Sure, there are upgrades, but nothing that screams 21st century.

In-Command App

The In-Command control system puts the control of several of your RV features into the palm of your hand.

The In-Command app gives direct control over the water pump , electrical, propane, lights (both indoor and outdoor), security system, slides.

It also allows you to monitor the consumable resources that you have stored within your RV.

The grey water, black water, and battery levels are much easier to monitor .

Now, you can mark off the items on your departure checklist from the convenient location of wherever you happen to be at the time.

Bedroom Storage Space

Yes, you get all the typical features that also includes plenty of storage space.

However, as common as that might be, the bedroom gets a bit of extra attention here because you get 6 drawers and 3 large wardrobes. That’s a lot of space, so you should have any issues with places to put your clothes.

If desired, one of those wardrobe spaces has been set up for a washer and dryer should you happen to be one of those strange people that like to wash your clothes.

What is a luxury trailer.

To be clear, a lot of travel trailers and campers are intended for living off the grid. However, not all of them should be deemed luxurious. To fit the bill, a given unit should have all, or most, of the amenities of your household such as toilet, shower, kitchen, and bedroom. There should also be a decent amount of interior space, some higher-end materials, and perhaps some high-tech features . Essentially, these campers should feel like a home away from home (or office away from office) with an emphasis on comfort and convenience.

What to look for in a luxury trailer

Dry Weight: While you won’t expect these luxurious options to be very lightweight, the weight of the trailer will have an impact on your driving ability and gas mileage.

Length/Width: The overall size of the trailer may yield a more spacious interior but can also make these difficult to achieve off-grid destinations as easily. For that reason, we’ve chosen models that are large but not too large.

Accommodations: Many luxury trailers will have a suite of options available in terms of add-ons, which can make your stay more comfortable. These can include kitchen upgrades, material upgrades, extra solar options, and any variety of bells and whistles (and in some cases, both).

Appearance: While the look of your trailer only weighs in marginally with a standard unit, a luxury camper should be a bit more design-forward. Most of the ones on this list sport either a retro or futuristic aesthetic.

  • Fantastic range of size and layout options
  • Can sleep up to 8 people
  • Fairly priced
  • Nice retro appeal
  • Interior materials could be more luxe

Best Overall: As one of the most iconic camper brands in the world, Airstream’s aluminum models have become symbols of Americana for decades. With a versatile model range that goes from smaller-sized towables to large self-driving RVs, the Ohio-based legend is well-versed in both luxury and style.

Ranging from 23 to 30ft long, the Flying Cloud is Airstream’s most popular and versatile travel trailer. This luxury camping trailer comes complete with a 120W solar panel, LED lighting, electronic brakes, Brandi cooking vent, four-burner gas stove , and an impressive rear hatch typically reserved for special edition trailers. For your convenience, it also boasts Quietstream Climate Control, LG LED HD TVs, USB and 110V charging outlets, and rear-view monitoring. And with 7 floor plans to choose from, we’re confident you’ll find the Flying Cloud that’s just right for you. Built for longevity, it’s no wonder Airstream trailers from the 1930s are still on the road today.

  • Features a panoramic roof for stargazing
  • Intimate setup
  • Chef-quality kitchen setup
  • No inside shower

Best for Couples: From the outside, Lume’s LT540 may not look like much, reminiscent of a horse trailer from the outside, but trust us that you won’t feel a bit like you’re living in a stable here. Designed to feel like you haven’t left anything behind, the flagship camper trailer is made for luxury traveling, allowing you to enjoy nature, yet sleep in the comfort of a retreat that feels like home.

This trailer benefits from aluminum construction and is well-insulated to keep you warm and cozy when night falls. It features a 100W solar panel, an open panoramic roof made with Sunbrella fabric and a mosquito net, an outdoor chef-quality kitchen with two PITT cooking gas burners and a 40L refrigerator, and gas connection points for barbecue. Inside you’ll find walls upholstered in natural wool felt, black leather adorning the interior, and a teak floor to complete the luxurious feel. The spacious LT540 has all the amenities you need to enjoy nature and still benefit from the comforts of home.

Length: 22.78ft Width: 8.2ft Interior Height: N/A Sleep Capacity: 2 Solar Option?: Yes Base Weight: 4,850lbs Inside Toilet?: Yes Inside Shower?: No

who makes luxury travel trailers

  • Super durable exterior and interior
  • Streamlined aesthetic
  • Built-in digital control panel with app
  • Nice panoramic windows
  • No solar options

Best for the Wilderness: While you can certainly take most, if not all, of these travel trailers into the wilderness, some are more capable of handling the unpredictability of the elements than others. Using a reliable steel cage construction, ERIBA Touring built the 820 Camping Trailer to be durable. Even the inside is capable of handling tough gear and hiking boots with its damage-proof GRP lightweight floor.

At first glance, you could say the camper almost looks like a drivable class-A RV . It has a futuristic design with its smooth silver panels, large tilted panoramic windows reminiscent of a spaceship, and two-tone shading. Inside you’ll find round furniture inspired by contemporary yachts, V-shaped beds, a 180° panorama lounge space, and a spacious roof. The luxury adventure ride is also packing plenty of technology, as it includes a smart home system managed through a built-in digital control panel or an included app. If that doesn’t impress you, the camper also has floor heating, a roof-mounted air conditioner, and hot water system.

Length: 28ft Width: 7.9ft Interior Height: N/A Sleep Capacity: 2 to 4 Solar Option?: No Base Weight: 5,512lbs Inside Toilet?: Yes Inside Shower?: Yes

who makes luxury travel trailers

  • Very futuristic appeal
  • Luxurious shower
  • Bespoke Customization program allows for personalization
  • Lightweight

Best Upgrade: If Airstream’s iconic aluminum campers are instantly recognizable with their distinctive rounded shape, so are Bowlus’ zeppelin-style exoskeletons – and they’ve been around just nearly as long, dating back to the 1930s. Reminiscent of those earliest designs, the Bowlus Road Chief Endless Highways trailer has a flashy metal exterior, which inspired the Airstream look to begin with, according to founder Hawley Bowlus.

Hand-built in California, this 27-footer can sleep and dine four passengers, as well as protect them with its TIG-welded aluminum spaceframe build. Inside you’ll find a 12-volt fridge and freezer, microwave, gorgeous two-burner Italian stovetop, full-length mirror, two wardrobe closets, and air conditioning. And it has a shower with elevated teak flooring, as well as an Italian marine shower head. If you want to escape into nature but want the comfort and amenities of a hotel, the Bowlus Road Chief is the camper you need. If that’s not enough, the company also has a Bespoke Customization program if you want to add some personal touches.

Length: 27ft Width: 6.67ft Interior Height: 6.33ft Sleep Capacity: 4 Solar Option?: No Base Weight: 3,200lbs Inside Toilet?: Yes Inside Shower?: Yes

Living Vehicle HD24

  • Literally feels like an apartment on wheels
  • Potentially infinite sustainability off-grid (with certain trim)
  • Full walk-in closet

Best Solar Option: A beautiful part about living in this day and age is the amount of benefit we can receive from the power of the sun. In terms of adventure trailers, this means that we can theoretically survive for an infinite amount of time (within reason) off the grid if equipped with enough solar panels. Living Vehicle recently debuted its latest model, the HD24, an apartment on wheels with upwards of 30 days of solar-powered energy.

Designed to perfectly blend a luxurious lifestyle with adventure readiness, the HD24 has four trim level options, each of which will have a different range of solar panels, with its top-most tier also giving you a 5-gallon-per-day water generation for an infinite amount of clean water thanks to its filtration and UV sterilization system. In terms of comforts, the camper trailer also features a luxurious interior with a spacious lounge area that converts into a queen-sized bed, a dining table that changes into a coffee table, a modern media center, a glamorous bathroom, a full kitchen, and tons of storage space. There’s also a massive walk-in closet that dwarfs any other option we’ve seen. To further mimic your own home, there’s a sliding glass door that opens into a makeshift patio space.

Length: 30ft Width: 8.5ft Interior Height: 6.83ft Sleep Capacity: 4 to 8 Solar Option?: Yes Base Weight: 14,000 to 16,000 Inside Toilet?: Yes Inside Shower?: Yes

Lightship L1

  • Very aerodynamic in Road Mode
  • Integrated rooftop panels
  • Glamorous spa-inspired bathroom
  • Full kitchen plus slide-out camp kitchen
  • Not available yet

Honorable Mention: With the travel trailer space constantly growing and expanding, it’s inevitable that there will be certain models that we love that simply aren’t available yet. And this inaugural model from Lightship was just too spectacular not to mention here, even though it won’t begin production until late 2024 (pre-orders are open right now though).

Specifically designed to be towed by electric vehicles , the Lightship L1 was developed by ex-Tesla and -Rivian staffers, featuring an integrated battery pack and drivetrain to power the trailer’s wheels independently. From its lightweight composite body and shape that’s three times as aerodynamic as a standard travel trailer, the L1 sports a “Road Mode” that compacts for a 6′ 9″ driving height. Coming standard with a 40kWh battery powered by rooftop solar panels and deployable solar wings, the camper can run all your systems for about a week. As for the inside amenities, you get a full interior kitchen with a dishwasher and a slide-out camp kitchen, as well as a spa-inspired bathroom with a toilet and a full shower with rain-style head. Not to mention, the systems and appliances can be controlled via your smart device with the dedicated app.

Length: 27ft Width: 8.5ft Interior Height: 7.5ft Sleep Capacity: 6 Solar Option?: Yes Base Weight: 7,500lbs (fully loaded) Inside Toilet?: Yes Inside Shower?: Yes

Jayco Eagle Luxury Travel Trailer

This Jayco model comes with a ton of interior and exterior standard features. The 2019 Jayco eagle is available in 4 different floor plans. A lot went into the design of the 2019 Jayco models. Stacy Stewart, Jayco’s Senior Designer, set out to create a mix of a rustic yet modern look that stands out very nicely from your typical RV.

Airstream , in addition to being one of our selected best travel trailer brands , makes one of the most luxurious travel trailers on the market; the Airstream Classic. This luxurious travel trailer is what legends are made of. Beautiful finishes throughout, excellent high-quality features, large living space and lots more. The Airstream Classic like the other travel trailers on our list is made for long trips or full-time RV living.

Airstream Classic

What I like about the Classic is that it’s also very modern with some high-tech gadgets typically not found in other high-end travel trailers. For example, the Multiplex control panel operates lights, technology, and other features.

The panel is used to monitor LP tanks levels, lights, power awning, etc. You will also find a 60-inch projection screen with a Bose soundbar, USB outlets, power awning, power stabilizer jacks and more.

In the bathroom, you’ll find a heated shower floor which is a feature hardly ever found on a travel trailer. But like that’s not all, there is also a heated towel bar.

The interior design has a set of very nice looking colors; Mocha Cherry with Macadamia Ultraleather. Very classy indeed.

But features don’t stop there. You will also fin power awning, rear-view monitoring, a Bose or Polk audio system and a doorbell.

Airstream Classic

The kitchen has Corian countertops, Baraldi cooking vents and a deep stainless steel sink with Kohler faucet. The Airstream Classic without a doubt is one of the most luxurious and well-appointed travel trailers on the market. It is also one of the more expensive coming in at just over $140K, however, for the price you get a legendary travel trailer that is hard to beat. In reality, just about all of the larger models of Airstream can be considered luxury travel trailers.

  • 60″ HD Projection TV (33FB)
  • Luxury 2-piece residential-style bathroom
  • Heated shower floor
  • Heated towel rack
  • Shaker style cabinet made from imported European Beechwood
  • Handcrafted kitchen cabinets
  • Corian countertops with Kohler faucdts

Prime Time Manufacturing

The Lacrosse camper by Prime Time Manufacturing combines luxury and value into one exciting package. The attention to detail on this high-end travel trailer can be seen both on the outside and the inside. The Lacrosse is loaded with features that rival those found in a residential home. This RV is available in 19 different floor plans.

Prime Time RV LaCrosse

Prime Time Manufacturing

The interior of the Prime Time Lacrosse is loaded with features/options including solid surface countertops, brushed nickel fixtures and hardware, large stainless steel fridge, Furrion residential cooktop, large 50-in LED tv and much, much more. The Best Luxury Destination Trailers

who makes luxury travel trailers

A destination trailer is basically a larger and more luxurious travel trailer. It’s a popular choice for full-time RVers, as most destination trailers provide taller ceilings, residential amenities, and added sleeping capacity for guests.

Another common feature of destination trailers is larger, panoramic windows. Combined with many of these being built with sliding-glass entry doors, you’ll enjoy much more natural light in most destination trailers than in a traditional travel trailer or a luxury fifth wheel.

While the terms “luxury destination travel trailers” and “park model” are sometimes used interchangeably, one important feature helps distinguish between the two: holding tanks. Park models often don’t include these, while destination travel trailers do. There may also be a difference in weight, which greatly affects towability.

Learn more about destination trailers and their uses.

Windows and a sliding door look out on the camp side and rear of the trailer, allowing sunlight to bounce off the gleaming white interior.

The family chef will love this kitchen, as large solid-surface countertops line the walls and central island. A separate stand-alone dinette provides space for family meals. Then, retire to the spacious main bedroom, which features front panoramic windows and a separate entrance.

Other Luxury Destination Trailers To Look At

While they narrowly missed the cut for our top picks, here are two more luxury destination trailers worth a second look.

Forest River Timberwolf 16ML

Forest River Timberwolf 16ML floorplan

What do you get if you mix a tiny house, a park model, and a travel trailer? The Forest River Timberwolf 16ML just might be it. While this two-story boxy home on wheels looks a lot like a tiny home, it is more lightweight and towable – and it has holding tanks.

Despite its similarities to a tiny house, the Timberwolf 16ML has one important difference: It may qualify for a recreational loan since it is technically an RV. For some buyers, this is an important distinction.

Walking up to the Timberwolf 16ML, the most striking feature is likely the second-story deck. Inside, two large lofts practically make this a two-story travel trailer. The main floor offers a living room with a 58-inch couch, chair, and high-top table.

The kitchen is generously outfitted with a double-door fridge and some surprising finds, including a dishwasher and a washer and dryer. Head upstairs to find a queen bed in the loft. The Timberwolf 16ML has recently debuted and few details have been officially released by Forest River, but expect this model to attract a lot of attention in 2024 and beyond.

Forest River No Boundaries RV Suite RVS1

No Boundaries RVS1 floorplan

Another destination travel trailer that is certainly attracting attention is the No Boundaries RV Suite RVS1 , which recently won RVBusiness’s 2023 RV of the Year .

Thanks to the Azdel aluminum construction, the RV Suite RVS1 comes in at under 7,000 pounds, making it substantially lighter than most of the other destination travel trailers in its class. Despite its lightweight design, the interior is the essence of luxury.

You will instantly get into vacation mode as soon as you step onto the sun deck extending off the rear of the trailer. Head inside the double glass doors to find a flex space that transforms from a place for dining or remote working to a comfortable bedroom. Simply fold down the tabletop, pop open the bed legs, and flip down the Murphy bed to reveal a king mattress.

The kitchen offers a chaise lounge located across from a galley-style setup, with all electric appliances. Double sliding doors fill the space with light, making it feel roomy, despite the lack of slides. Keep your eye on the internet or on Camping World lots to watch for the industry-shaking RV Suite RVS1 to emerge.

Is a Destination Trailer Right For You?

right-for-you-best-luxury-destination-trailers-11-2023

Destination trailers are built for extended stays but aren’t entirely immobile.

  • They’re ideal for spending a full season (or longer) in a single destination.
  • A destination trailer might be ideal if you want to relocate south to one place for the winter and return north for the summer (with minimal stops in between).
  • If you want to live in an RV full-time in one location, a destination trailer could be your perfect choice.

If you only want an RV for weekend getaways or 3-4 short trips per year, you’re likely better off with a small camper, travel trailer, or even a fifth wheel.

Best Luxury Travel Trailer Brands: Which One is Right for You?

  • Best Luxury Travel Trailer Brands: Which One is Right for You? - June 8, 2022
  • Best Luxury RV Brands for Each RV Class - June 8, 2022

Sorting through the abundance of the best luxury travel trailer brands can be tricky with all of the information out there. I can even start feeling my head start spinning in circles while searching for the differences in each luxury travel trailer. The best way that I have found to organize my thoughts while shopping for a luxury travel trailer is to classify each brand for what I think they are best for .

Before jumping into the best luxury travel trailer brands and what they’re suitable for, let’s go over what a luxury travel trailer is. A travel trailer is a type of RV situated on top of a standard trailer chassis, and the closest thing they resemble is a modular home. What makes them luxurious are the unique features and amenities that take them over the top, like heated floors, electric fireplaces, automatic leveling systems, etc.

Bottom Line Up Front

I find that Bowlus travel trailers have everything that you could possibly need in a luxury travel trailer and more. From the durability to these RVs’ unique features and design, you can find a little bit of everything made for anyone.

Whether you are taking the family out for a road trip or wanting to spend some much-needed time in the wilderness, Bowlus has you covered without missing any of the comforts of home (and a few of the luxuries might not find at home).

The Ultimate Luxury RV | Bowlus®

A Bowlus luxury travel trailer embodies the ultimate in performance, technology, and luxury, making it the perfect adventure-ready RV. The original aluminum travel trailer, Bowlus has an iconic heritage of innovation and is the top choice for modern adventurers, land travelers, and camping enthusiasts.

My Top Picks at a Glance

  • Bowlus :   This RV brand was  first introduced in 1934 by RV pioneer Hawley Bowlus. With a history stretching back nearly 100 years, these luxury travel trailers are incredibly durable, innovative, and elegantly designed, making them my favorite luxury travel trailer.
  • Palomino Puma: Being one of the most spacious travel trailer brands on the market, these trailers can sleep up to ten people. They are also so spacious and full of residential features that they may confuse you for a small home.
  • Black Series: This brand has you covered for  all of you road trippers that like to take it way out in the wilderness. Their trailers are equipped with 600 watts of solar power, larger than average water tanks, and off-roading capabilities.
  • Forest River R-Pod: If you don’t feel comfortable enough to pull a large trailer, Forest River makes small, lightweight luxury trailers that have all the amenities of home. Even though they are small, they are efficiently planned to make them seem bigger.
  • Keystone: You can have exactly what you want to a T in the RV world with Keystone travel trailers. They have over 200 floorplans to choose from and many useful add-ons for each camper.

Things to Consider

travel trailer

Everyone has their personal preferences and things that are important for their lifestyle regarding RVs. Not every travel trailer can accommodate every preference out there, so it is crucial to figure out what is most important to you. Here are a few things that you should consider before even starting to shop for a luxury travel trailer.

Number of People Traveling

Whether you have a family, like to travel with friends, or want to travel solo, you need to consider how many people will be sleeping in your travel trailer before purchasing. There are travel trailers small enough that they only fit two people and travel trailers that can sleep up to ten people.

There will always be at least one bed in your trailer, but you can also add on options with a fold-out bed, a jackknife sofa, bunk beds, or a booth dinette that folds down into a bed.

What Vehicle You Have to Tow with

Travel trailers need a vehicle that can pull the weight that they put on your vehicle. Not all vehicles have the towing capacity to tow any travel trailer. There are larger travel trailers that need a larger truck to be able to tow them, especially if they are a fifth wheel or toy hauler . You can also get a smaller travel trailer that is light enough to be pulled behind a small crossover or even an electric vehicle.

Travel Trailer Length

The length of a travel trailer can significantly affect the ease of pulling it. A longer travel trailer will be more difficult to pull, whereas a smaller trailer will be easier to pull.

The longer the trailer is, the harder it is to maneuver it around turns, back it up, accelerate and stop, and it will sway in high ends pulling your vehicle around. If you aren’t very experienced with pulling trailers, I recommend starting with a smaller travel trailer.

Do You Want to Go Off-Grid

Off-grid camping is when you are camping without access to external electrical sources or freshwater. Certain travel trailers have features that store or make electricity and clean water.

These features include lithium batteries, solar panels, generators, and water filtration systems. You can also get travel trailers built to handle roads off the beaten path if you want to go way out into the wilderness.

towing travel trailer

Selection Criteria

A few key differences make a travel trailer luxurious vs. a regular travel trailer. Regular travel trailers will be more basic, without some standard amenities and features that you would typically have in a home, whereas luxury travel trailers have these things. Below are a few things that I made sure that each of these trailers had to be added to this list.

Ease of Towing

There are certain features that a travel trailer can have that make it easier to tow than your standard trailers, such as electric breaks, aerodynamics, and center of gravity.

This will keep wind pull, wear and tear on your vehicle, and deceleration much easier for you in the long run. Standard trailers don’t take any of this into consideration when manufacturing them.

Top of the Line Features

Some of the features and amenities you can find in these luxury travel trailers are nicer than those in a home, such as heated floors, electric fireplaces, and outdoor entertainment centers.

Everything else should be things you find in a home, like residential appliances, a dry bath, and hardwood cabinetry. You will also see some pretty impressively designed finishes and floorplans in these RVs.

Technologically Advanced

Technology has made our lives so much more convenient throughout the years, and there should be no exception when it comes to luxury travel trailers.

A central control panel for the entire RV, UVC air filters, GPS trackers, and electric auto-leveling systems are all things that you can find in your travel trailer to make your adventure a little easier.

You will also find items in your luxury RV that you can find in your home, such as smart TVs and dimming LED lights.

Best Luxury Travel Trailer Brands

Best overall: bowlus.

Bowlus Road Chief

This brand could easily be confused with an Airstream, but it is not and is, in my opinion, better than Airstream trailers. You get the same vintage design inside and out with an aluminum shell and wooden paneling covering the interior. They are also built to last with some Bowlus travel trailers over fifty years old and still in mint condition.

You’ll find many unique features inside the Bowlus such as heated floors (great when you’re winter camping) and HEPA air filtration with UVC. Bowlus even offers luxury amenities like a pet station and a custom bed that will keep your dog or cat comfy while you camp.

Safety features in the Bowlus include Bluetooth electric brakes. The Terra Firma even has a smart brake controller that can be programmed to work with multiple tow vehicles, giving you the ultimate flexibility when you travel.

Bowlus trailers can be off-grid in the wilderness for weeks thanks to the most powerful lithium iron batteries on the market and optional solar panels. The company has designed its electrical systems to be as energy efficient as possible – you can even run the air conditioner for up to two nights.

Even though Bowlus trailers are relatively long, with the smallest model being 27 feet long, they are pretty easy to drive due to the electric breaks, their low center of gravity, and they are built to be highly aerodynamic.

They are also very sustainable in that they are lightweight enough to be pulled by an electric vehicle, which is remarkable for this big of a trailer. Some other ways that Bowlus is sustainable are through its material sourcing, energy efficiency, and water efficiency.

  • Sustainable practices
  • Lightweight and easy to tow
  • Unique features
  • Off-grid capabilities
  • Elegant, vintage design
  • Extremely durable
  • On the pricier end

Best for Space: Palomino Puma

puma front end travel trailer

If you want a travel trailer that you could live in full time, Palomino Puma has a trailer for you. Once you step inside one of these, it feels like you are in a small house rather than an RV with all residential kitchen appliances, an entertainment center with an electric fireplace, and tons of room to get around comfortably.

The design of these travel trailers is also very modern, with shiplap style walls, hardwood cabinetry, and elegant finishes. Palomino Puma also has excellent travel trailers for those that have large families or like to travel with lots of friends because they can sleep up to ten people.

They even have a floor plan with a second bedroom, so your guests or family can have their own room. They create this much sleeping space with a queen-size bed, a double bunk, a jackknife sofa, and a fold-down dinette.

  • Sleeps up to 10 people
  • Very spacious
  • Homey interior design
  • Convenient electrical features
  • Residential appliances
  • Not great customer service

Best for Off-Grid: Black Series

black series camper

Sometimes, we all need a little escape from civilization, and these travel trailers have you covered for when you want to be way out in the wilderness.

Each of Black Series’ trailers is equipped with a large fresh water tank, 600 watts of solar power, and 200 amp hours of battery so you can live off-grid for weeks, if not months.

These trailers are also built to withstand some of the most challenging roads with independent suspension, a steel armored chassis, and off-road tires.

The interior of these travel trailers could fool anyone into thinking they are in a luxury hotel with elegant designs, all the appliances you could need, and a dry bath in some models.

I honestly am blown away by how good they made the interior of these trailers look. If you decide to spend more time outdoors, they have an entire outdoor kitchen set up with an electric awning and an outdoor sound system.

  • Off-road capabilities
  • Aerodynamic body
  • Outdoor leisure space
  • Elegant interior design
  • Heavy GVWR weight

Best Small Trailer: Forest River R-Pod

forest river r-pod

The most excellent thing about having a smaller trailer over a larger trailer is they are effortless to tow. Forest River’s R-pods are some of the most lightweight small trailers on the market with some of the lightest weighings under 3,000 lbs, which can be pulled by most small crossover vehicles and even some electric vehicles.

They also feature electric breaks and have an aerodynamic exterior to make stopping and minimizing wind resistance easier.

Even though R-pods are small, they have built the floor plans to utilize all the space given with storage options and all of the necessary amenities and to make it feel open.

They have also included many unique features, such as a vacuum port that you can sweep dirt into, a pet-friendly utility hook, n tinted windows. You can also add a screened-in awning system, an outdoor kitchen, and a solar system.

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Modern, homey design
  • Efficient floor plans
  • Easy to tow
  • Not very spacious

Most Customizable: Keystone

keystone rv

Keystone has anything and everything you could possibly want in your RV, from a small two-person trailer with the bare minimum to a sizeable luxurious trailer that fits the whole family and makes you feel at home.

You can choose between over 200 different floor plans, so there is likely a trailer that fits your specific wants because they’ve thought of nearly everything.

There are also a lot of handy add-ons that can further customize your trailer to your needs, such as large solar packages, a cold-weather package, and a central monitor system.

Nearly every trailer is a build-it-yourself model, with the ability to add on whatever appliances or luxuries you want, including a larger refrigerator, an electric fireplace, an entertainment center, and customizable furniture to accommodate more sleepers.

Almost all of these trailers also have slide-outs adding a ton of space to your trailer. You will also find modern finishes, such as tile backsplashes, iron light fixtures, and rustic wood-looking floors.

  • Over 200 floorplans
  • Lots of useful add-ons
  • Modern finishes
  • Luxury appliances
  • Not super durable

Question: What is a luxury travel trailer?

Answer: Luxury travel trailers are high-end travel trailers that include all of the standard amenities that your house would typically have. In a luxury travel trailer, you can find residential appliances, modern finishes, convenient technology, and features that make it easier to tow. Most luxury travel trailers also have options for off-grid camping and outdoor entertainment spaces.

Question: How much does a luxury travel trailer cost?

Answer: A luxury travel trailer can cost anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000. It all depends on what brand, what size of a trailer, and the amenities and features you decide to go with. The pricier the travel trailer is, the more durable it will be, it will include more unique features, and the easier it will be to tow.

Question: Which travel trailer brand is the most reliable?

Answer: Bowlus has some of the most durable travel trailers I have seen on the market. This brand specializes in travel trailers alone and has been making them for nearly one hundred years. The original engineer of the Bowlus trailer was an airplane engineer and used the same materials and practices in creating an aircraft as with Bowlus travel trailers inside and out.

Final Thoughts

These travel trailer brands have their own unique benefits, but I can’t get over how well Bowlus trailers fit into nearly every box. I find it especially remarkable that they can make a large trailer so light and durable at the same time. I’m also a sucker for any company that puts sustainability at the top of its priorities, and Bowlus does just that.

They may be a bit more expensive than some other trailer brands, but I think these trailers are totally worth it, especially since they will most likely outlast any other trailer brand on this page.

Airstream vs Winnebago Compared: The Ultimate Battle

They each have their own advantages, and despite being very popular, are very different. We’re going to review each in detail and then leave it up to you to decide which better suits your needs.

The Main Differences Between Airstream and Winnebago

The main differences between Airstream and Winnebago are:

Best Airstream Alternatives To Consider

Best Airstream Alternatives To Consider

Airstream trailers are instantly recognizable as an icon of American camping. Sleek, stylish, and durable, these trailers upgrade your tent to a full-fledged house on wheels. They’re pricey, but they hold their value really well, and they’re everywhere because people love them.

However, if you’re having a hard time justifying the cost, but you really want something similar, you’re in luck. There are plenty of Airstream alternatives out there from lookalikes to the modern retro interior, you’ll find the perfect knock-off that’s right for you.

And for the record, these knock-offs are just as good, so calling them knock-offs is doing them a great disservice. Check them out for yourself.

Living Vehicle Trailers

These lookalikes are pretty pricey, too. You’re not escaping the price tag of an Airstream, but you may enjoy the modern architectural touches of the interior more. It’s a luxury upgrade from the Airstream, featuring an interior that

RVShare Review: All You Need to Know

Traveling in an RV is more popular than ever! Millions of people are discovering the benefits of motorhomes and camping trailers for weekend getaways, cross-country road trips, or even as a fulltime lifestyle choice. RV sales are reaching new peaks, but an RV is an investment. For many, renting is a much better option than owning.

Why Rent an RV?

If you’re new to RVing, renting one to try it out is a great idea. You can find plenty of videos on YouTube about the RV lifestyle, but you won’t know if you love it or hate it until you give it a try.

If you’re shopping for an RV but aren’t sure which type would suit you best, renting can give you a chance to spend time in a few different kinds before committing to a purchase. Maybe you only want to travel in an RV for a few weeks every summer and just don’t think it’s worth making payments

  • Types of RVs

Are you looking for a way to take your camping experience up a notch? If so, luxury travel trailers may be the perfect solution for you. These luxurious trailers offer the perfect combination of comfort, style, and convenience that make any camping trip unforgettable. In this article, we'll cover everything you need to know about luxury travel trailers, including the different types of luxury travel trailers, the amenities they offer, and how to choose the right one for your needs. Luxury travel trailers are a great way to enjoy the RV lifestyle while still having all the comforts of home. From spacious living areas and modern amenities to stylish interiors and top-of-the-line appliances, luxury travel trailers offer all the features you need for a comfortable, enjoyable vacation.

But what makes luxury travel trailers different from other types of RVs?Luxury travel trailers are typically larger than other types of RVs, such as pop-up campers and motorhomes. They also have more features and amenities, including upgraded appliances, stylish interiors, and extra storage space. Some luxury travel trailers also come with built-in entertainment systems, such as flat-screen TVs and surround sound speakers. When shopping for a luxury travel trailer, it’s important to consider your needs and budget. Look for features that will make your camping experience more enjoyable, such as comfortable sleeping areas, ample storage space, and modern appliances.

Pay attention to the size of the trailer and make sure it will fit in the campsite you plan to visit. Be sure to check out the quality of construction and make sure it’s designed to stand up to whatever weather conditions you may encounter on your trip. Finally, ask about warranty coverage and be sure to get a written agreement that outlines the terms of the warranty. Once you’ve found the perfect luxury travel trailer for your needs, it’s time to start planning your next adventure. Consider what type of camping activities you plan to do and make sure your trailer has the features needed to support them.

Finding the Right Luxury Travel Trailer

Look for trailers with a spacious living area and plenty of storage space. Additionally, consider the type of appliances and amenities that are included, such as a refrigerator, stove, and bathroom facilities. When possible, take a tour of the trailer in person to get a better sense of the space. It is also important to look at the construction and materials used.

Look for trailers that are built with high quality materials and can withstand the elements. Inspect the interior for any damage or signs of wear and tear. Additionally, make sure that the trailer is properly insulated and is equipped with adequate heating and cooling systems. In addition to evaluating the features of the trailer, make sure to inquire about the warranty information. This will help ensure that you are protected in case something goes wrong with your purchase.

Planning Your Next Adventure

You should also consider the size of your travel trailer and the number of people you plan to have on the trip. Luxury travel trailers typically come in a variety of sizes, from small single-axle models to larger double-axle models that can accommodate up to five people. Once you’ve decided on the size and features of your luxury travel trailer, you can start planning your trip. When planning your trip, it’s important to factor in the cost of fuel, food, and other expenses.

Additionally, you should research campgrounds in the area where you plan to stay and determine if they have any restrictions on RV size. You should also consider if there are any amenities available, such as pools or playgrounds, that could add an extra layer of fun to your vacation. Finally, it’s important to make sure that your vehicle is in good condition for the journey ahead. Make sure all tires are properly inflated, brakes are functioning correctly, and all other safety requirements are met.

What Makes Luxury Travel Trailers Unique?

Luxury travel trailers also come with comfortable furniture, outdoor kitchens, and entertainment centers. Luxury travel trailers also come with additional safety features, such as smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and even self-contained water heaters. Additionally, these high-end trailers often come with advanced security systems that monitor for any potential intruders. Unlike other types of RVs, luxury travel trailers are also designed to be towed.

This means that you can take them with you on your next camping trip or long road trip without having to worry about renting or buying a traditional RV. In addition to their spacious interiors and modern amenities, luxury travel trailers are also designed to look stylish and attractive. Many luxury travel trailers come with custom interior designs that feature rich colors and stylish furnishings. This makes them stand out from the crowd and adds to the overall aesthetic of your RV lifestyle. Luxury travel trailers are an ideal way to experience the RV lifestyle and enjoy the comforts of home without sacrificing a sense of adventure.

With careful research and planning, you can find the perfect trailer for your next vacation and make memories that will last a lifetime. When shopping for a luxury travel trailer, consider the unique features they offer, their size and weight capacity, and the amenities they include. Keep these tips in mind and get ready for an unforgettable vacation!.

Off-Road Adventures Fused With Off-The-Grid Luxury: The Best Travel Trailers

Camp in comfort.

by Michael Bradley Published on January 9, 2024

At Luxe Digital, we independently research, review, and recommend products we love and that we think you will love, too. Learn more about how we curate the best products for you .

Life on the road: waking up to the sunrise, enjoying a coffee with the morning dew tickling your toes and driving for hours with nothing but nature all around you.

Conjuring up nostalgic memories of old-time Americana and singing your favorite songs around the campfire, guitar in hand, an RV-based holiday is definitely a memorable one.

Even those who wouldn’t typically consider a camping trailer for their next trip are now reconsidering, thanks to the rise in high-tech, seriously luxurious camping trailers akin to stylish apartments…but with the benefit of having wheels attached.

Some of the best luxury travel trailers nowadays come complete with digital nomad-approved offices, second-story bedrooms, indoor bathrooms, and all of the connectivity you could ever need.

Life off the grid doesn’t have to be in tents — pun fully intended — but it can open a window into a refreshing contrast; one where your biggest problem is selecting which spectacular location to drive to next in your luxury camper.

The 15 best travel trailers

Check our special travel trailers buyers’ guide after the list to see exactly what you should pay attention to before purchasing a trailer. You can also check our round-up of the best off-road camping trailers , best camper van brands and best RVs depending on your preferred travel style.

Bowlus: Best overall travel trailer

best travel trailers bowlus review - Luxe Digital

Step into your Bowlus travel trailer for the first time and prepare to feel a little overwhelmed by all of the possibilities running through your mind. The Terra Firma travel trailer is the creme de la creme in the world of living on the go, with all of the facilities necessary to make you genuinely consider switching to this way of living full time. Kitted out with beautifully neutral interiors, a separate hotel-style shower and plenty of space for relaxing, sleeping and planning your next venture, Terra Firma has it all.

Wake up in the Zen Master Bedroom and make a coffee using the two-stage water filtration system. You can even bring a furry friend along, thanks to this camping trailer’s seamless features: remote temperature monitoring, bowls that slide out seamlessly from a drawer and a coordinated pet bed. When you head out on foot for the day, make use of the Find My Bowlus GPS tracking.

Best for: Almost preferring living here to your own house back home.

Living Vehicle: Best luxury camper

best travel trailers living vehicle review - Luxe Digital

“Roughing it” doesn’t exactly sum up your experience camping in a Living Vehicle camping trailer. Probably the closest thing you could find to staying in a hotel but with the added benefit of being able to follow your every move, Living Vehicle’s HD30 model truly maximizes the best of outdoor living, indoors. This fully customizable unit is a dream for anyone who’s serious about camping trailers.

Equipped with everything from air conditioning to solar power, it’s spacious and comfortable, filled to the brim with technology like huge TV screens, stocked-up chef’s kitchens, and luxury amenities. You’ll find a washing machine, Hi-Fi stereo system and mobile connectivity. It’s life off-grid, but with the ability to get connected right back on the grid whenever you need. Better yet, it comes complete with a state-of-the-art security system. So you’ll never feel concerned about leaving your mobile house for the day to do some exploring.

Best for: Making camping trailer holidays Vogue-worthy.

Winnebago: Best value travel trailer

best travel trailers winnebago review - Luxe Digital

It’s hard to beat a Winnebago if you’re looking to travel true Americana style and the Winnebago Micro Minnie is definitely the best option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly trip. Because the Micro Minnie brings together everything you need for a compact trip without waving goodbye to necessities.

Just like the name suggests, it’s one that focuses on quality rather than quantity, but it still manages to squeeze in ample galley space, a sink, double door refrigerator, microwave and even a cooktop. A spacious mattress and windows designed for cross ventilation mean you’ll never wake up in the middle of the night feeling too hot or too cold, and the breathtaking surroundings will always be ready and waiting as the first touches of light come through the windows. Patio speakers and a power awning with LED lighting make the outdoors just as cozy as indoors.

Best for: Saving money to put towards decorating instead.

Airstream: Most versatile travel trailer for remote work

best travel trailers airstream review - Luxe Digital

Fulfill all of your digital nomad dreams by waving goodbye to a life surrounded by bricks and instead pursuing one surrounded by nature and woodland. Or cityscapes, or beaches, or whatever your heart desires. The beauty of Airstream’s Flying Cloud is that you’re free to do all of the above and more, never needing to remember a set of house keys again in favor of life on the road.

This is a camping trailer designed to make life easy, with varying floor plans no matter how many you’re traveling with and even the option of a miniature office. Stylish and practical, it’s decked out in neutral tones with comfortable elements for a stress-free experience. As well as all of the essentials, Airstream’s Flying Cloud comes complete with multiple USB ports and a pop-up USB/AC outlet supported by the onboard 1000-watt power inverter. The office area even has a swivel chair.

Best for: Trying to get your beach/mountain/river view into the background of your Zoom meetings.

Timberleaf Trailers: Best teardrop trailer

best travel trailers timberleaf trailers review - Luxe Digital

Timberleaf’s vibrant orange camping trailer is a talking point of your travels, even when your surrounding landscapes come with enough picturesque stories. This teardrop trailer is charming and playful, created from quality craftsmanship and fine woodworking. It’s a camping trailer that takes camping back to its base: forgoing non-essentials in favor of keeping itself small and sturdy.

The Classic Teardrop Trailer is with you no matter where you’re heading next and comes in three different varieties; Standard, All-Road, and Off-Road. Each comes with its own specific details, like wheels designed for rugged terrain and a fully insulated cabin to keep the wind, heat, and cold at bay. Despite its cute nature, this is a camping trailer that doesn’t mess around: it’s got plenty of space for cooking facilities and relaxation with spacious skylight, all kitted out in tonal wooden shades. The trailer itself comes in a variety of vibrant colors, if orange isn’t to your choosing.

Best for: Feeling like you’re starring in your own vintage holiday movie.

This is a camping trailer just crying out to be personalized, preferably with Instagram-friendly cushions, large cozy throws and adventure around every corner. It’s a trailer looking for stories. A tankless hot water system, heating and AC, custom cellular shades for privacy and energy-saving insulation, and high ceilings make this one of the most covetable camping trailers on the market.

Best for: Not stressing about hitting your head when you wake up in the morning.

Happier Camper: Best lightweight travel trailer

Its curated space uses the brand’s Adaptiv technology to quickly switch living spaces into an office, dining area, bedroom or lounge space in minutes. Fibreglass shells, a honeycomb floor grid, custom hardware and durable components ensure your Traveler is ready to go no matter how long the journey.

Best for: Smaller towing vehicles and not worrying about maximum weight capacity.

Bruder X: Best off-road camping trailer

best travel trailers bruder x review - Luxe Digital

There are camping trailers designed for whimsical journeys through the forests and countryside paths winding their way down to the seafront. And then there are expedition trailers designed with a little more durability in mind, suitable for all of those off-road adventures that you’d previously disregarded. Bruder X’s EXP-6 is the latter. This is a camping trailer with a difference: a large, sturdy and all-around impressive beast of a trailer that confidently heads off the beaten track into paths unknown without really lifting a finger.

This off-road trailer is sleek and grey, looking perfectly at home with any kind of backdrop. It’s also sufficiently convertible, with the ability to level out and adjust its height to suit the terrain at the press of a button. A state-of-the-art cabin management system means you can even control the EXP-6 from your smartphone. Out the back, you’ll find courtesy lights, storage lockers, a clothes washer and even an external hot and cold shower.

Best for: Adventures without limitations.

Lance Camper: Best bunk beds

best travel trailers lance camper - Luxe Digital

Since 1965, Lance Camper has built camping-focused accommodations to help people explore. While it’s an overwhelming favorite in the truck camper world, the brand expanded into travel trailers over a decade ago and now has a full lineup of reliable and comfortable camping trailers.

The Lance 2185 Travel Trailer has an ingenious design featuring a walk-around queen bed, a convertible dinette, and triple bunk beds. It can sleep up to 7 people, yet still has an enclosed bath and sufficient interior space. And when you don’t need the bunk beds, you can reconfigure the area to create extra cargo storage for bikes or other toys.

Best for: Frolicking with friends and family.

Polydrops: Best small travel trailer

best travel trailers polydrops review - Luxe Digital

Small but mighty, Polydrops’ P17A camping trailer packs a punch when it comes to fitting a lot into a small space. The P17A1 is one of the best small camping trailers for anyone new to the industry who wants to get to grips with owning a trailer before committing to a larger size. It is highly engineered and all-electric, bringing together all of the essentials. Its futuristic style sets it ahead of the game in the world of both camping trailers and electric vehicles —something you’ll understand even more when you’ve read the full list of energy-efficient measures this camping trailer comes with.

These small campers come equipped with solar panels, LiFePO4 batteries and air conditioning for ultimate comfort without waving goodbye to sustainable travel. Its aerodynamic design also ensures it’s straightforward to tow, even for a lesser-experienced driver. It’s home to a modular system incorporating a kitchenette, micro closet, toilet and sleeping compartment and editable depending on your preferences.

Best for: Proving good things come in small packages.

Jayco: Best mid-priced camping trailer

best travel trailers jayco review - Luxe Digital

Dipped your toe into the world of vacation trailers but not quite ready to go all out with a huge model? Jayco is the answer for the best mid-sized trailer. Our favorite —and not just our favorite, as it’s consistently voted America’s best-selling RV too —is Jayco’s Jay Flight . These are the best travel trailers for anyone with a desire to head out for a trip without worrying about anything along the way. Fully equipped with not just the essentials but also the would-be-amazing-ifs.

Superior construction, weatherproofing and plenty of editable floor plan designs mean the Jay Flight is perfectly suited to just about any kind of traveler. Looking for more beds? They can be included in the middle. Would prefer more storage and foldaway sleeping compartments? Not a problem either. The included LED TV, smartphone-controllable system and fully equipped interiors complete with an oven make this camping trailer a win-win for just about everyone.

Best for: Premium quality essentials with some luxury thrown in, too.

Grand Design RV: Best travel trailer for families

best travel trailers grand design rv review - Luxe Digital

A family camping trip can go one of two ways: either it’s one that goes down in the memory book full of hilarious anecdotes, nostalgia-filled activities and the promise to do it all again next year, or it goes horribly wrong and you promise never to speak of it again. The best way to ensure your family holiday is the former rather than the latter? Do it in a camping trailer designed for families to take the stress out of camping trips.

Grand Design RV’s Reflection Travel Trailer is luxurious yet sensible: a trailer that’s sturdy and dependable while still remaining stylish and comfortable. It’s a spacious RV camper, almost a mini apartment rather than a simple bed and sink pull-along trailer. Home to plenty of electronics including a Bluetooth sound system, LED TV, motion sensor lighting and more, you’ll never feel anything less than refreshed and satisfied staying in one of these travel trailers.

Best for: Those picture-book perfect family holidays.

Taxa Outdoors: Best pop-up camper

best travel trailers taxa outdoors review - Luxe Digital

Go back to basics with small travel trailers in the best way possible with a Taxa Outdoors Mantis pop-up camper. Sure, there are high-tech, futuristic trailers out there, but the Mantis is the perfect option if you’re looking for laid-back, authentic, small camping trailers. While it might not be stuffed to the brim with electronics, the Mantis still comes with everything you could need for a relaxing few days of getting up close and personal with nature.

Known as the brand’s most spacious pop-up trailer to date, it’s home to adaptive spaces like a large cafe breakfast table in the morning, a mini-conference room in the afternoon and even a board game set up in the evening. The pop-up nature of this camper also means it comes with its own outdoor seating area, where you’ll likely spend evenings listening to the sounds of nature and catching up with your family or friends on everything under the sun.

Best for: Last minute, easygoing journeys without too much preparation needed.

Tiny Camper: Best DIY camping trailer

best travel trailers tiny camper review - Luxe Digital

Rent or buy a camping trailer and spend your days leading up to the trip figuring out what to pack or what may or may not be included. Build your own camping trailer and replace those conversations with everything else: how to design the interiors, which features you do and don’t need, and how best to personalize your new temporary home?

Half of the fun of a DIY camping trailer comes from its unforgettable building period—something that’s made incredibly easy with Tiny Camper’s DIY camping trailers . They’re also just as customizable as you’d like, depending on your dreams and realistic abilities at putting together a trailer. Design from the ground up with a variety of different frameworks, electrics, plumbing or cabinets, or start from the next step with a fully prepared package. Then, the fun part: color schemes, extra features and unique touches.

Best for: Crafting that’s just as much fun as the traveling part.

Buyers guide to travel trailers

There’s plenty to take into consideration before choosing your next camping trailer, like how often you’ll use it, the sort of terrain you’ll cover, the features you may need and the capacity for you and your camping companions. Read on for everything you need to know before selecting your new camping trailer.

Towing limitations

Generally speaking, the more high-tech your camping trailer and the larger its capacity, the more it’ll weigh. Before you buy your trailer, you need to ensure that the vehicle you’ll be towing it with is strong enough to do so. Always check the camper trailer’s weight against your tow vehicle’s towing capacity and aim to leave a little leeway rather than choosing something that hits the maximum weight limit.

Interior features

If you’re simply going to use your camping trailer as a portal for exploring the outside world, you only really need a comfortable bed and some kind of living space. If you’re planning on going digital nomad style, you’ll want to look for more features, like a dedicated office or working space or at least a separate living space, as well as plenty of storage space.

Depending on how long you’re on the road for, you may also want to choose a camping trailer with a kitchenette. And, depending on where you’re taking your trailer, you might want to look for a trailer with an indoor toilet or entire bathroom. There’s nothing worse than having to brave freezing temperatures in the middle of the night if nature calls.

Most camping trailers are designed for around three or four people, although some have more space for up to seven. While this maximum might be impressive, it’s important to remember that just because seven people can fit, doesn’t mean it’ll be an especially comfortable fit once everyone’s stuff is included. It’s so important to check whether all of your belongings will fit inside.

Water systems

How big is your water tank? Does it come with fresh water and grey water tanks? Is there hot water available, or just cold? These are all questions you’ll want to know the answer to beforehand. Choosing a travel trailer with too small of a water tank means lots of refilling.

If you’ll mostly be sticking to standard roads, this isn’t something you’ll need to worry about particularly. But if you’re heading off to explore pastures new with off-road adventures, you’ll want to look for a camping trailer with more durable, sturdy materials and wheels to match. There are plenty of trailers designed for off-road trips, which can put your mind at rest for future exploring.

Batteries and charging

You’ll want to thoroughly check how to power your camping trailer to avoid getting caught out at the worst times. Many trailers nowadays include solar-powered or other energy-efficient methods but can also be hooked up to a grid. The larger the trailer, the bigger the battery. Some trailers also have space for external batteries to be added.

This varies hugely depending on your tow vehicle but, generally, you should check whether your trailer comes with a standard 50mm tow ball or whether it has an articulating hitch. And, finally, before you head off for the first time, ensure the brake lights and indicators function when connected.

See Inside the Most Luxurious Travel Trailer to Date

With the trend in glamping and remote working intersecting with concerns about social distancing, luxury trailers have become the latest must-have for discerning travelers. Even Airstream has partnered with Pottery Barn on a chic camper. But the most luxe trailer has to be the new 2022 Pro-EV from California-based Living Vehicle , which offers compact mobile living without sacrificing luxury touches like a chef’s kitchen, spa-style shower, and even a washer/dryer.  Husband-and-wife team Joanna and Matthew Hofmann launched Living Vehicle in 2017. Theirs is no assembly-line affair: Only 25 custom models are produced a year.

“People are becoming more wary of commercial air travel and vacationing in highly trafficked areas that require staying at hotels,” Joanna, who oversees sales and marketing, told AD. “Mobile living offers a unique and perfect alternative to traditional travel—the whole point is to be outdoors.” Matt, a licensed architect, brought his expert eye to the trailer’s design, which features an anodized aluminum frame that’s far more durable than that of most campers and ages more gracefully, with no peeling, chipping, or flaking.

The 2022 model further blends the indoors and outdoors with skylights, oversized windows, and an eight-foot sliding glass door. An automatic drop-down deck with enclosed patio is available at the push of a button for entertaining, yoga, or just relaxing.

aerial view of vehicle

An aerial view of the trailer shows the eco-friendly features of solar paneling.

Inside, approximately 232 square feet of interior space offers all the comforts of home, including a master bedroom with a fold-up queen-size bed that can easily convert into a home office or entertainment space with an optional 70-inch 4K HD home theater and Sonos surround sound.

The bathroom includes a spacious shower with rainfall showerhead and walnut finishes (with upgrades including an electric toilet with bidet attachment), while the kitchen sports a solar-powered refrigerator, removable cooking island, and a European-style three-burner oven. “Everything you would expect in a high-end New York apartment you can find inside Living Vehicle,” Matthew told Wallpaper.

two people next to each other

An island in the center of the kitchen makes hosting easier.

The 2022 LV even takes your four-legged companion into consideration, with a dedicated pet food area, scratch-resistant flooring, and an enclosed outdoor “den” on the deck. A major element of the ethos of the Living Vehicle is self-sufficiency: Models come with compostable toilets, oversized freshwater tanks, and a built-in energy supply from solar panels providing 14.4kWh to 57.6kWh.

The Pro-EV inches closer to the Hofmanns’ goal of a net-zero vehicle that’s better for the environment and free from an increasingly unreliable utility grid. Energy-related enhancements from the 2021 model include upgraded solar panels and nearly twice the energy storage. “We’ve increased the amount of solar, inverter size, energy storage, and inverter power on all models and switched to European battery storage with advanced LiPo chemistry,” says Joanna.

With enough reliable sunlight, the 2022 LV can sustain power indefinitely—even charging electric vehicles using an integrated 240V level 2 charging station. All of which means the Living Vehicle isn’t anchored to traditional campgrounds or RV parks.

two people watching movie

The space offers the possibility for an entertainment space with an optional 70-inch 4K HD home theater.

“After spending the greater part of the past year and a half in isolation, people are craving wide open spaces and there’s no better solution than the great outdoors,” says Joanna. “Whether you desire to explore the great public lands or purchase your own little slice of heaven and use it as a semipermanent getaway on raw land, LV offers you the greatest amount of freedom and independence.”

Prices for the four available LV models range from $249,995 for the base CORE edition to the mid-$500s for the Pro-EV, with up to $150,000 in available options.

Hilton is betting on 'glamping,' and I can see why after staying in an Airstream at a luxury campground

  • Travelers can soon use  Hilton Honors points at AutoCamp's popular "glamping" resorts.
  • The chain is best known for its high-end  Airstream-trailer hotel rooms .
  • The rapidly expanding luxury camping chain has seven locations, many near national parks.

Insider Today

Hilton wants to know: Why stay in a conventional hotel room when you can pay more than $600 a night to sleep in a trailer?

The hotel giant says its members will soon be able to earn and use Hilton Honors points to book AutoCamp's chain of luxury campgrounds , best known for their stationary Airstream trailer hotel rooms.

It's Hilton's first move into the increasingly popular "glamping" — a portmanteau of "glamorous" and "camping" — industry.

As someone who's stayed at two of AutoCamp resorts, I think the mutually beneficial partnership is a great idea.

Like other "glamping" and campgrounds, AutoCamp experienced a windfall in bookings during the COVID-19 pandemic

AutoCamp has seven high-end resorts. Most are near national parks (like Zion, Utah) or popular city-folk getaways (like the Catskills in New York or Cape Cod in Massachusetts).

Related stories

Two more properties — one in the booming Texas Hill Country and another near Sequoia National Park — are scheduled to open in the next year.

You could say Hilton is late to the high-end camping trend — Four Seasons opened its first $4,000-a-night adult-only luxury tent resort in 2022, after all.

But better late than never: In 2023, campground giant Kampgrounds of America called the industry an "aggressive growth segment," with four in 10 campers expressing interest in glamping that year.

Hilton has yet to disclose how many points it'll cost to book an AutoCamp vacation or when they'll become available, but the glamping company isn't known to be ultra-affordable. In the summer, a weekend stay can range from about $300 to $670 a night.

What it's like at an AutoCamp resort — and why the partnership makes sense

Many luxury campsites have high-end canvas tents or tiny homes. While AutoCamp offers both, its most popular accommodations are its nostalgic, 31-foot-long Airstream trailers .

I've stayed at AutoCamp's Yosemite and Joshua Tree resorts. Although it's been two years since my last visit, I still prefer these fun trailers to any hotel or Airbnb — even ceding time at the national parks to spend more at the trailer-lined properties.

I love camping as much as I love the plushness of luxury hotels. AutoCamp combined the best parts of both to create a high-end concept that could delight even the biggest nature hater.

AutoCamp's resorts are significantly more comfortable and amenities-saturated than most traditional campsites, making it the perfect option for travelers who want the camping aesthetic without the camping pains.

No need to sleep on a dirt floor, forgo warm showers, or "go outside." Every AutoCamp trailer has beds with pillows, bathrooms with high-end toiletries, and kitchenettes with microwaves — not to mention the private outdoor seating and firepits.

Guests also have access to a communal lounge with food and beverage (yes, alcohol) menus, a general store, and a midcentury modern flair. Some locations flex a swimming pool and on-site programs like guided walks as well.

Given these high-end hotel-like comforts, it should be no surprise that Hilton has decided to go with AutoCamp for its first venture into the great outdoors.

The glamping company's properties are the perfect compromise between the invigorating seclusion of camping and the indulgences of a traditional Hilton hotel.
