It might seem logical that the best way to earn rewards on cruise bookings is to get a cruise line cobranded credit card . However, these generally don't offer as solid of a value as the best travel credit cards .

For example, the Royal Caribbean® Visa Signature® Card currently offers a sign-up bonus of 25,000 bonus points (worth $250 in onboard credit) after you spend $1,000 within 90 days of account opening and an ongoing rate of 2 points per dollar on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises purchases. This might seem like a good bonus, but you can actually get a much better value from the welcome bonus on most general travel credit cards.

Chipotle is giving away 100,000 burritos for National Nurses Week. And you don't necessarily have to be a nurse to get in on the deal.

From Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 10, healthcare workers can sign up for a chance to win a free burrito e-card on the Chipotle website . At the end of National Nurses Week, 100,000 healthcare workers will be randomly selected to get an email asking them to verify their employment status via ID.me. Those who successfully verify that within 48 hours will get a free burrito e-card.

Customers can get in on the action, too, by purchasing limited-edition Chipotle Healthcare Heroes E-Gift Cards online; 10% of the proceeds from the gift card purchases will be donated to the American Nurses Foundation. National Nurses Week is observed annually May 6 through May 12.

What is National Nurses Week?

National Nurses Week grew out of a congressional resolution and proclamation signed by President Reagan in 1982 deeming May 6 as a National Recognition Day for Nurses.

The American Nurses Association board of directors expanded this to a National Nurses Week in 1990. The permanent dates for the week were designated in 1993 to be officially observed starting in 1994.

The week includes National School Nurses Day on May 8 and May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, which has been celebrated as International Nurse Day since 1974.

Airbnb posts higher profits on global travel demand

(Reuters) – Vacation rental company Airbnb reported a higher quarterly profit on Wednesday, boosted by an increase in travel in international markets as North American bookings decelerated during the period.

Shares of the company were up 3% after the bell.

Accommodation companies in the first quarter have seen the demand for travel in regions outside of North America boost earnings as travel accelerates in Asia Pacific and Latin America. The company said it expects to see steady growth throughout 2024, spurred by travel demand centered around international events.

Active listings on the platform grew 17% year-over-year with Asia and Latin America leading the additions.

Nights and experiences booked in the first quarter increased 9.5% year-over-year to about $133 million driven by a 21% and 19% growth in bookings in Asia-Pacific and Latin America, respectively. The company said bookings in North America “slightly decelerated” during the quarter.

The San Francisco-based company reported net income of $264 million, or 41 cents per share, for the quarter ended March, compared with $117 million, or 18 cents per share, during the same period in 2023.

Total first quarter revenue rose 18% year-over-year to $2.14 billion.

The average cost per night in an Airbnb or average daily rate was $173 in the reported quarter, a 3% rise compared to the year prior. The company saw an increase in shorter stays and bookings of entire homes which drove higher margins.

It forecast second-quarter revenue between $2.68 billion and $2.74 billion, below analysts’ estimates of $2.74 billion, due in part to currency exchange rates and the timing of Easter which was beneficial to the first quarter, but may weigh on earnings in the second quarter, the company said.

Looking ahead to the summer, Airbnb said it expects year-over-year revenue growth to accelerate in the third-quarter due in part to travel demand centered around the Olympics and Euro Cup.

This was a gift for our son. I do not believe he has had a chance to use these yet but was very pleased to have received them.

Luggage is nice, light weight. Used once and the large suitcase had cracks and had a missing wheels. It is not durable and would not recommend. Doubt the other 2 pieces would last much longer.

Nice color, bought these for our daughter. She’s college age, loves them!
