Adventure with Greatland Adventures

  • Bev As a solo traveler I usually veer towards group tours and make my decisions based on ratings. Greatland Adventures definitely lived up to their high ratings and awesome reviews. I have booked several tours with them. From the beginning it was a pleasurable experience with Steve and Rochelle who have excellent communication with their clients and ensure you are fully accommodated for your tour. I did the northern lights tour with Mike who is an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable and he captured some excellent photos of me! I completed the glacier tour with Bill who is also very knowledgeable and ensured we had a great experience at the glacier by getting us there before others arrived and allowing us to safe explore all the accessible crevasses. I absolutely recommend this tour company they are amazing!
  • Jane I want to sincerely applaud the members of Greatland Adventures! They made me and my friend's trip to Anchorage one of the most amazing experiences ever in our lives... We were all well educated about the lights before we got there and even had a chance to have a pitstop at a gas station to use the toilet and grab a coffee. We even saw the lights that night TWICE! Thank you, Steve! The memories we made will last a lifetime and we are so happy we chose Greatland Adventures. I am telling any and everyone that plans to visit Anchorage to book through them. No question!
  • John I can't say enough about how thoroughly I enjoyed this northern lights tour -- it was truly beyond belief! Steve provides an extremely well-run and well thought-out process for folks to see the aurora, the nicest part of which is that you don't know until about 6 pm that day whether or not you'll be going. This means you don't pay unless you go! But our group got lucky! The skies cleared on Friday evening (16 Feb), and Steve and Laura drove us an hour outside of Anchorage to a supremely dark place they had already scouted out. As soon as we arrived, the green hues started firing up and the sight was beyond one's imagination.

Greatland Adventures is located in Dena’ina ełnena, Dena’ina homeland. Anchorage is home to the K’enaht’ana, the Indigenous people of Nuti (Knik Arm), who today are members of the Eklutna (Eydlughet) and Knik (K’enakatnu) tribes. The K’enaht’ana have lived and subsisted on the lands and waters between the Chugach and Talkeetna mountains for thousands of years, long before Anchorage was “founded” and developed by visitors from elsewhere.

Alaska Adventure - 20 Days

Infinite Adventures is the very very best!!!! We typically do a long trip every year and this one was the best we have ever done. My wife and two kids absolutely loved it. Dave, Tory, Nat, and Ellie made it very easy to enjoy Alaska's great outdoors without us having to plan or find the best spots. They know all the little details that made it fun. Their sense of humor was also a huge plus. After a day hiking glaciers or bear watching the camp sight was always fun and dinners/food was always on point. Natalie and Ellie made best scrambled eggs ever. Tory and Dave made best Salmon dinner's (they deserve at least one Michelin star). The bus ride was also fun, comfortable with good conversation and great music (Nat, please more ABBA next time LOL). Also, the group travel angle was great fun as we got to meet and bond with people from all over the world. Really wonderful group of people. We will definitely be doing another trip in future with Infinite Adventures and highly recommend it to others.

Majestic Alaska (10 Days) Tour

Majestic Alaska (10 Days)

In general things went very well. However, At the Denali location there was a shortage of staff which prevented full service at the Park, Ie. not all dinning venues were normal and our room service such as daily service was missing. We were told, staff shortage due to Canadian employees may have left due to concern of border being closed into Canada. Hotel dysfunction on a limited basis due to that concern. On our last day at the Anchorage Hilton room service was missing also. Not sure why. Most other activities were well supplied/performed. We were pleased.with our Tour Director Tyler, Bus Driver Les and Health coordinator Carol., Some other venues were a bit restricted due to COVID-19 concerns which appear to be out of control of Tourradar. We loved Valdez,, Fairbanks, Anchorage and Kanai Fjords National Park, as well as the Athabascan Village and flat boat ride and other amenities such as the Husky Dog Farm. Overall pleased, except as noted above. The weather cooperated 100%.

We had a wonderful time. The tour was well planned and well managed. The CEO was excellent ..good driver, good communicator, had good knowledge of the local attractions and made great recommendations for restaurants. The group we were with was also a very pleasant group which made the experience that much more enjoyable. That said, would have loved to see the accommodations updated.. most except the Denali cabins were old and "weathered".

Alaska Kenai Adventure 9 Days Tour

Alaska Kenai Adventure 9 Days

What a wonderful way to discover Alaska! A memorable trip thanks to the efforts of Natalie, Dave, and Carolina. Infinite Adventures provides a really unique travel experience. Their bus is creatively outfitted to be a traveling home for 16 tour participants. By the end of our journey, we felt like a traveling family because the trip provided opportunities to connect and bond with fellow travelers. The Kenai trip was well-planned. It offered the right mix of adventure and convenience. The company makes all the arrangements. Yet, there are opportunities for travelers to participate in setting up camp, preparing food, and cleaning up. Natalie, Dave, and Carolina were warm, friendly, and responsive to travelers' needs. Natalie and Dave's 3 year old son was an adorable addition to our trip. The whole experience felt much more personalized than traveling with a bigger company. Alaska is so much bigger and more exquisite than I had imagined. The highlight was the glacier visit - other-worldly! Throughout the trip, I appreciated the organization and planning that made our journey from one location to another smooth and interesting. Highly recommend this adventure with this company. ~ Mridula (California)

Alaska: Ocean Wildlife to Interior Wilderness Adventure - 9 Days

Time flies when you're having fun. Me and my daughter had an excellent time on this trip. 11 days seems like a long time but with so much to do, it flew by. We were able to see parts of Alaska that few get the opportunity to see. There were plenty of wildlife encounters including the Brown Bears, Moose, Eagles, Caribou, fox, lynx, whales, and swans. Adam and Daniel were accommodating to be sure we got the full experience of what we wanted to do. The hotels and cabins were perfectly fine with no problems. The excursion started with us being picked up at the Anchorage Airport, settling into the hotel and a nice dinner overlooking the ship river. the next morning a drive down the Seward highway, a bush plane flight to Lake Clark Ntl Park to the Great Bear Lodge (great view of the volcano Mt Iliamna). Excursions to the beach to watch the brown bears dig clams, there are plenty of bears to see. After the flight out, it was 2 nights in Seward, we opted for deep sea fishing and caught 2 halibut, 4 rockfish each as well as breaching whales 100 yards from the boat. Next was a relaxing (napping) ferry ride to Val Dez. What happens in Val Dez, stays in Val Dez. The following morning was the drive to McCarthy where we toured the Kennicot mine and river rafted. Finally a drive to Denali and a bus tour through the park where we watched bear, moose, caribou, eagles and so on. Mt. Denali was shrouded in clouds so we did not see the peak this trip. This tour is great to be able to see the diverse areas of Alaska. If anything, I would have liked to spend another day in Seward, Val Dez, and Denali but there certainly are time restraints. We began our trip in Fairbanks for 3 days on our own, which is also a great area to visit. I would highly recommend this tour.

The tour itself was fabulous. Tour guide and driver were both awesome and the sights were majestic. The food however the first few days was lacking.

4 day Alaska Seward Camping Adventure from Anchorage Tour

4 day Alaska Seward Camping Adventure from Anchorage

WOW, Alaska! You are stunning! From the morning of Day 1 - I knew I was in good hands. You can always tell how the guide greets you and how the first morning meeting goes. I felt heard and supported - and knew I picked the right company and tour. We had a group of 10, from 4 different countries - and almost everyone's first time to Alaska. We visited in late August - so I have heard the mosquitos aren't as bad then - so that was good! Likewise, we even started to see fall colors poke out along the drive down to Seward - really beautiful. Such a different landscape coming from Florida, where I live. I chose this tour because it had a lot of inclusions with activities - but also some free time to check out town - Seward is really cute! Our guide, Joe, was really friendly, fun and knowledgeable to the area. Such great commentary along the way and all throughout for 4 days. My favorite day though was when we did the boat tour out to the glacier, and we saw a Humpback Whale Breach!! So cool to see in the wild - and not often do you get to see that. Thank you for making meals that were fresh, tasty and healthy - and using local ingredients like sea salt from the bay. Truly an enjoyable experience - the camping was fun, too! Tents that keep you dry are always a plus!

11 Day Alaska Interior Explorer Tour

Spectacular Tour!! If you are looking for a trip that ticks lots of boxes - this is IT!!! Super fun. This tour really mixes it up with camping, a few lodge nights - lots of inclusions and places to see. My Favorite was McCarthy/Wrangells/Kennicott. WOW-camp right up the Kenniccott river on the side of a glacial plain. Really fun activities in McCarthy - optional and included. Do the Scenic Flight if you have the chance! The MaClaren Lodge was super cool too! Really remote and beautiful. We were lucky enough to see Denali for a glimpse on day 1 ! I will definitely travel again with this Bindlestiff again -organized, fun, knowledgeable. Thank you!

Experience True Nature

Wilderness adventure tours beyond imagination, denali national park tour packages | denali activities and sightseeing tours, welcome to denali national park | more than a mountain ... hiking, wildlife viewing, adventure activities in alaska.

anchorage alaska tour packages

Denali National Park and Preserve is a vast and breathtaking wilderness area that spans over six million acres. Its centerpiece is Denali, the highest peak in North America, towering at 20,310 feet. The park is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, encompassing taiga forests, alpine tundra, and snow-clad mountains. Established in 1917 as Mount McKinley National Park, it was later renamed Denali National Park and Preserve in 1980, emphasizing the significance of the native Athabaskan name "Denali," meaning "the high one." The park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, hosting a variety of species such as grizzly bears, moose, wolves, Dall sheep, and migratory birds. A notable feature is the Denali Wilderness, which covers a significant portion of the park and is designated to preserve the natural environment in its pristine state. The park offers limited road access to reduce human impact, promoting a sense of remoteness and wilderness. Visitors can explore the landscape through bus tours, hiking trails, and ranger-led programs. The park stands as a testament to the unspoiled beauty of Alaska's wilderness and the importance of conservation efforts in preserving such remarkable landscapes for future generations. The park is crossed by a single road. Along this road, travelers see the relatively low-elevation taiga forest transition to high alpine tundra and snow-capped mountains. On a drive along the park road, visitors may see a moose grazing in a stand of willows, caribou resting on a snowfield, Dall sheep high on the slopes, a wolf trotting across the tundra, or a grizzly bear feeding on blueberries. A goal of many visitors to the park is to see the "Big Five." Solitude, tranquility and wilderness await you. We offer a wide variety of Denali vacation packages, ranging from driving tours , motorcoach tours and railroad adventures .

Hiking at Denali National Park

There are not very many marked trails in Denali, and most of the trails here are short (less than 2 miles) and near the park entrance. One of the reasons Denali exists is to provide people with a place to explore a trail-less wilderness, and a result of this is a limited trail network. Some of these trails are utilitarian—they travel alongside the Denali Park Road and connect the visitor center with other important facilities in the entrance area of the park. Other trails offer a departure from the immediate surroundings of the park's only road, allowing you to seek a bit of solace and quiet, while still having an obvious, established path to follow. Hiking off-trail can seem intimidating at first, but is a memorable and unique experience. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Crews ready to work on huge Anchorage port project sit idle as critical environmental review is delayed

The Municipality of Anchorage is trying to fix a funding problem that has threatened to halt progress on the huge modernization project underway at the Don Young Port of Alaska.

An unexpected delay with a critical environmental review has left the city burning through cash under a $97.5 million construction contract as crews and equipment idle at the facility, with tens of millions of dollars in federal grant funds at risk and the short summer construction season rapidly approaching.

The city was awarded $68.7 million federal grant in 2022 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration, or MARAD. At the time, the money was touted as a win by Alaska Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan and welcomed by Mayor Dave Bronson. City officials have planned to use the money to pay for a critical piece of the port modernization program, North Extension Stabilization phase one , which was slated to begin late last month.

Contractors and equipment and have been staged on site and ready for weeks — starting at a cost of about $100,000 per day for the idle resources, according to a city memorandum — but if work begins before the environmental review is finished, the city forfeits the federal grant.

In order to keep the port modernization project on schedule, it’s possible the city could choose to walk away from the federal grant — and potentially lose tens of millions in matching funding from the state — if the required approvals from the Maritime Administration don’t come through in the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, the Anchorage Assembly unanimously approved a contingency plan put forward by Bronson’s administration that would allow the city to make up the budget shortfall using bonds, which would be repaid through surcharges.

“This just places a tool in our toolbox of revenue bonds to ensure that we have the money necessary to move forward with this summer’s construction,” Assembly Vice Chair Meg Zaletel said. “We expect this will be covered by grant funding but it’s always great to have a contingency plan, especially because this construction season is so important to the rest of the sequencing of the port.”

It’s not clear who, or what, is to blame for the current status. Alaska officials have declined to point fingers, although in a memorandum the Bronson administration suggested MARAD suddenly shifted its earlier expectations for the finalization of the environmental assessment. For its part, the federal agency has not answered questions about what, exactly, the city’s documentation failed to fulfill.

It’s also not clear exactly when the city would face a decision whether to forfeit the federal grant and proceed without MARAD’s environmental review complete.

The mayor’s office did not respond to a question about when the city must begin construction or lose the season.

Port officials have estimated that the total price tag of the modernization project is somewhere between $1.8 billion and $2.2 billion.

For years, city officials in Anchorage had asked state and federal lawmakers to help fund repairs.

The Maritime Administration awarded the grant to Anchorage as part of a much larger federal spending initiative under the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Alaska’s federal delegation at the time — Murkowski and Sullivan, and the late Rep. Don Young — lauded the bill’s passage and advocated for the grant.

The current phase of the project will stabilize the terrain in the port’s North Extension directly adjacent to the shipping lane. City officials say it’s a key step in the much larger overhaul of the port’s cargo terminals.

The phase “has got to get done in order for us to move into next summer’s construction on the cargo terminals,” Zaletel said.

The Assembly’s vote follows a visit from MARAD officials to the port last week.

Port Director Steve Ribuffo said the city is working closely with MARAD to complete the assessment as soon as possible, and that it’s likely the city won’t forfeit the grant.

“If we can get the show on the road within the next few weeks, then we’re pretty optimistic that everything will get done this season that needed to get done this season,” Ribuffo said in a May 3 interview.

Sens. Murkowski and Sullivan and Rep. Mary Peltola have not responded to requests for comment on the situation.

Sense of urgency

The port’s infrastructure is failing, threatening a critical piece of the state’s supply chain.

Around 90% of Alaskans rely on goods shipped through the port, which handles about 75% of the state’s inbound cargo, including goods such as food, fuel, construction supplies, vehicles and tools.

“The sense of urgency comes from being able to put in place as fast as possible at least one cargo terminal that we know we’ve designed and will construct to withstand a pretty significant earthquake here,” Ribuffo said.

An earthquake, for example, could liquify the terrain in the North Extension, which would likely flow into the existing dock and cause it to fail.

The landslide work must take place before waterside work on the first cargo terminal can start, Ribuffo said. As scheduled, “2026 is when we start driving pile and working in the water,” he said.

According to an April 23 memorandum from Bronson’s administration, city staff and Jacobs Engineering, its project management firm, had been “under the understanding that the environmental assessment was literally complete” and that it would soon be provided the necessary approval.

But that didn’t happen. Earlier in April, MARAD staff “unexpectedly presented the Municipality with a long list of questions” related to the environmental assessment, the memorandum said.

“If the contractor does not commence work, the Municipality will be liable for payment to the contractor for idle workers and equipment. This liability begins at approximately $100,000 per day and escalates as additional workers and equipment arrives at the site,” the administration said in the memorandum.

“Even more important, is the fact that delaying the start of the project due to the time and effort required to respond to these new, unexpected questions may very well result in the loss of an entire construction season,” the administration said.

Ribuffo said while costs may be racking up, contingency is built into the construction contract for such unforeseen delays.

MARAD staff last week visited Anchorage and met with city and port officials and toured the site.

In a statement May 3, a spokesman for MARAD said it couldn’t say when it expects the review to be complete, but that its staff are working on a process that will allow the port to start construction as soon as the assessment is approved.

“We are working hard to support the Port of Alaska in moving this project along; however it is too early in the process to provide a definitive response for this question. Ultimately, it will depend on how quickly the Port can complete” the environmental assessment, said MARAD spokesman T.V. Johnson.

“Once the Port prepares its updates to the current draft of the EA, they will return it to MARAD. MARAD will work through a review of the updated EA as quickly as possible so that we can properly support the Port’s effort to advance the EA. MARAD is committed to completing this process as soon as possible,” Johnson said.

On Wednesday, Johnson declined to answer further questions about the current status of the assessment and referred the Daily News to the city for questions.

City staff sent amended environmental review documents to MARAD on May 3, Ribuffo said Wednesday. It’s unclear exactly when the city will receive notice from MARAD that the review is finished, he said.

“Now we’re in this situation where no news is good news. If they’re not coming back to us with another raft of questions, then we have gone a long way to satisfy what their concerns were initially. So we’re kind of holding out that that is the case,” he said.

Federal environmental assessments are cumbersome processes that generally span well over a year. The city in its application for the grant scheduled 19 months to complete the review, aiming to finish by last October.

For now, the city has some wiggle room in left in the season, Ribuffo said.

But there are many factors to consider, including other potential causes for delays, such as late delivery of supplies, bad weather, and the frequency of beluga whales feeding in the area, he said.

Complex history

The situation adds another wrinkle to a project that has been dogged with problems, including mismanagement that resulted in a several years-long lawsuit between the city and MARAD.

The federal agency oversaw a failed expansion of the port in the early and mid-2000s that cost hundreds of millions in public money. The need to stabilize the port’s north extension results directly from the failed project.

The municipality sued MARAD and its subcontractors and won. In a 2022 judgment a federal judge awarded the city $367.4 million .

MARAD has since appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and in March, a panel of judges heard arguments in the case.

The city is awaiting a ruling and there is no set timeline for a decision, Ribuffo said. The panel could uphold the 2022 judgment and full award to the city, or change the amount of the award, or side with MARAD and nix the previous ruling entirely.

The lawsuit has nothing to do with the grant delay, he said.

City leaders have long pushed for financial help from the state and federal governments. But the project’s reputation of mismanagement, coupled with political resistance toward spending state money on what many have viewed as an Anchorage-specific problem, hindered past requests for port funding.

The tides appeared to have changed in 2022 when the state included $200 million in the capital budget to help rebuild the port, and the city was awarded the federal grant a few months later.

The city aimed to secure federal and state help as a way to defray surcharges that will help pay for the modernization program ; fees that ultimately are passed on to consumers of the goods that pass through the port.

The $1.2 trillion infrastructure package is slated to bring billions to Alaska for improvements to ports, the state’s aging highways and bridges, its ferry system and for increased internet access.

The downside, Ribuffo said, is that the workload for MARAD has dramatically increased as communities across the country seek federal dollars and simultaneously undergo similar review processes.

“And the pressure is on. Congressional delegations all around the country are putting pressure on MARAD and the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Rail Administration to get these things done as quickly as possible. So I don’t envy them the position that they’re in either,” Ribuffo said.

“We’re both moving at the speed of government. So patience is necessary,” he added.

How to plan a memorable first-time alaska cruise.

The remarkable scenery of Glacier Bay is a highlight on many Alaskan cruise itineraries.

Embark on a journey through Alaska's pristine wilderness aboard a cruise ship, where you can experience the awe-inspiring nature of the last American frontier in comfort.

As you glide past icy fjords and into secluded bays, seize the chance to witness magnificent glaciers up close, and keep your eyes peeled for the mighty bears, whales and eagles that call this rugged landscape home.

However, don't make the mistake of thinking you’ll have peace and quiet. Remote it may be, but Alaska is one of the world’s most popular cruise destinations.

Ports such as Skagway can accommodate up to four large cruise ships at once. Smaller ports can easily become overwhelmed with visitors, while popular shore excursions sell out well in advance. As such, there’s a lot to understand about Alaska cruises before booking.

Cruise Lines In Alaska

Most major cruise lines sail in Alaska, ranging from large, modern ships full of amenities, down to smaller, older ships with more outside space and a relaxed vibe. Expedition cruises on even smaller ships focus more on wildlife and geology.

When picking a line and ship, consider your choice of cabin carefully. Although inside cabins offer a cheaper deal, the value of a balcony cabin shouldn't be underestimated. On scenic cruising days, you’ll be able to enjoy the landscape—and potentially wildlife—without jostling for position.

Alaska Cruise Itineraries Explained

There are two main types of Alaskan cruise itinerary: the Inside Passage roundtrip, and a one-way Gulf voyage. Each route offers unique opportunities to see both glaciers and wildlife, with specifics depending on the season.

New FBI Warning As Hackers Strike Email Senders Must Do This 1 Thing

Baby reindeer real martha reveals identity in photo with piers morgan, a ukrainian m 2 fighting vehicle sneaked up on a russian t 80 tank at night and hit it with a missile from a mile away.

Alaska is a popular cruise destination in the summer.

Seven-night Inside Passage cruises typically depart from hubs like Seattle or Vancouver, calling at popular stops like Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway. Many feature a scenic cruising tour of the breathtaking Glacier Bay National Park.

For example, this 7-night itinerary on Norwegian Encore including all those highlights is available between April and October in both 2024 and 2025.

For those seeking deeper exploration, one-way Gulf voyages include the highlights of the Inside Passage route, but also venture closer to the Arctic Circle. Typically, such itineraries start or end at Whittier or Seward near Anchorage.

This 7-night itinerary from Celebrity Cruises includes port calls at Sitka, the historic Icy Strait Point, and scenic cruising of the Hubbard Glacier on the way from Vancouver to Seward.

Some cruise lines combine Gulf voyages with curated tours before or after the cruise for a comprehensive Alaska experience. Such tour packages include famous rail journeys, visits to Denali National Park, and optional overnight stays in Anchorage or Fairbanks.

Longer Alaskan cruise itineraries, especially those on smaller ships or expedition lines, may include remote locales like Kodiak Island and the Aleutian Islands.

Port Excursions In Alaska

Exploring ashore on guided excursions is a highlight of any Alaskan cruise. Each port offers unique opportunities to engage with the natural environment and local culture, but the popularity of cruising in the region means advance booking is essential.

Some of the most popular tours may fill up just days after they go on sale, in some cases months before the actual cruise. Consider independent tour options, but read the terms and conditions carefully and check for reviews from previous cruisers.

Mendenhall Glacier is a popular cruise excursion from Juneau on Alaska cruises.

Alaskan capital Juneau is renowned for its glacier tours and wildlife viewing opportunities. The hike through backcountry to the Mendenhall glacier requires a good level of physical fitness, while whale watching boat trips are just as popular.

The historic Skagway train tour along the Klondike route in a vintage coach, featuring stunning vistas and rich gold rush era history, is a must-do.

Cultural tours in Ketchikan often include visits to the Saxman Native Village, where totem poles and traditional dance performances offer insight into the local Tlingit culture.

When To Cruise Alaska

Alaska is not a year-round cruising spot, and the season is shorter than most leading cruise destinations. Alaska’s cruising season ranges from late April to late September.

April : Expect relatively dry days, though not completely devoid of light showers and fog. Bears are only just emerging from their winter slumber so sightings are unlikely, but you may see eagles and humpback whales.

May : With more ship options, relatively dry weather, long hours of daylight, and good value fares, May is a popular time to cruise Alaska before the peak. Wildlife, including migrating shorebirds, whales, and bears, are more visible.

June : Mild temperatures and long daylight hours—up to 19 per day—provide optimal cruising conditions. Enjoy vibrant greenery and more wildlife sightings, but prepare for the possibility of mosquitoes (especially on trips inland) and variable weather.

July : July brings mild temperatures, often reaching the 70s, but it's also the start of the wetter period. Expect long hours of daylight ideal for wildlife sightings, including salmon runs and bear activity. However, peak cruise season means high fares, busier ships, and busier ports. Local produce starts to feature heavily on menus shoreside.

Juneau, Alaska, has a spectacular natural setting and is a gateway to many exciting outdoor ... [+] experiences.

August : Expect rain, with daytime temperatures in the low to mid-60s and nights cooling to the upper 40s, and ample wildlife viewing opportunities, as bears and bald eagles are active near salmon streams. Fares, along with the number of daylight hours, fall later in the month.

September : Expect cooler temperatures and frequent rain, which may risk the success of outdoor excursions. Despite less demand, wildlife viewing remains good with bears still active near salmon streams and whales still present in coastal waters. September also offers a chance to see the northern lights .

What To Pack For Alaska Cruises

Packing smart for an Alaska cruise means being prepared for both adventure in the great outdoors and the comforts of cruise life.

An Alaskan journey demands attire for cooler climates. Essentials include a fleece jacket, thermal socks, and a warm hat to combat the cold, along with sweaters and thermal underwear for effective layering. Waterproof gear such as a reliable rain jacket and waterproof pants are crucial for unexpected rain or snow showers.

You should also consider waterproof bags to protect your electronics and important documents during shore excursions.

Sun protection is vital due to the deceptive Alaskan sun. High SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat are necessary to guard against UV rays and snow glare.

Footwear should include waterproof hiking boots for rugged terrain and slip-proof sandals for the deck, accompanied by thermal or wool socks for additional warmth.

For shore excursions, a collapsible backpack and a thermal water bottle will keep you organized and hydrated, while binoculars can greatly enhance wildlife tours. A simple first aid kit, sea-sickness bands, and insect repellent are other wise packing choices.
