Playboi Carti Postpones ‘Antagonist’ Tour to 2024

Playboi Carti has postponed his Antagonist tour, an extensive global trek that was set to kick off this fall. 

The North American leg was scheduled to kick off Sept. 6 at the Ball Arena in Denver and wrap Oct. 20 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta before heading overseas for concerts in the U.K., Ireland, and Europe. Just a week before the tour’s official start, the tour’s U.S. leg was rescheduled to 2024 and set to begin in Europe instead, according to Pitchfork .

The trek will now begin in Dublin, Ireland in Nov., while his first U.S. show will be on Jan. 14 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

First announced in July, the Antagonist tour will be joined by three artists signed to Playboi Carti ’s Opium record label: Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang.

Rapper Playboi Carti coming to San Diego during 'Antagonist' Tour

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Genre-bending rapper Playboi Carti announced his new fall 2023 "Antagonist Tour," and San Diego is among the cities the experimental artist will visit.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at noon Friday. The show in San Diego is scheduled for Sept. 17 at Pechanga Arena.

Playboi Carti last went on tour in 2021, following the release of his album "Whole Lotta Red," which reached the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Fans were chomping at the bit for that album, released on Christmas Day 2020, as it sold 100,000 units and was streamed 160 million times around the world in its first week.

In recent months, Carti has headlined several major festivals, including Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in Chicago, Wireless Festival in London, and more.

The "Antagonist" Tour begins Sept. 6 in Denver, and fans should expect "electric live performances" and a unique vibe, according to the press release.

Major stops along the tour include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and more.

Joining Carti on the tour as the opening performance will be the "Opium Collective," which is made up of rappers Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang.

Playboi Carti has announced his upcoming Antagonist World Tour set to kick off this fall.

Marking the 38-date trek as his first tour since 2021, the “ Magnolia ” rhymer will visit Denver in Sept. before making his way to Copenhagen, Denmark, in Dec. The Antagonist Tour will hit major cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and more in between.

The tour will also be the first time Carti takes his Opium Records signees Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and HomixideGang on the road as a collective.

Aside from taking a touring hiatus, the Atlanta rapper has headlined several festivals over the last year, including Rolling Loud California, Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash , and Wireless Festival.

Tickets for the Antagonist Tour officially go on sale July 14 as pre-sale tickets are available today (July 12).

According to the Mercedes-Benz Arena venue in Berlin, Carti will also allegedly drop a new album titled MUSIC right before he kicks off the European leg of the tour.

“After the release of his new album MUSIC the 26-year-old artist will pay Europe a visit in the context of his Antagonist Tour,” the venue wrote in a statement.

Playboi Carti Announces Plans for Antagonist Tour Dates 

Playboi Carti announced plans for the Antagonist Tour, launching in September and carrying through 38 scheduled dates spread across the U.S. and Europe. The tour will bring the rapper to venues across the U.S. in September and October before heading to the UK and EU in November and December. Opium label signees Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang will be along for tour dates in support, varying by city.

The tour is Carti’s first headlining tour since 2021, and follows festival dates including Rolling Loud California and Wireless Festival already this yaer. Carti recently collaborated with The Weeknd and Madonna on the song “Popular,” which was released to support The Weeknd’s HBO series, The Idol. “Popular” achieved a peak position of No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Tickets for the tour dates saw presales launch for most dates on Wednesday, July 12 almost immediately after the tour was announced by global promoter AEG. General onsale begins on Friday, July 14.

Playboi Carti tour dates kick off on September 6 at Ball Arena in Denver, with the U.S. dates covering 28 shows before wrapping with an October 20 gig at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. In between, stops include Houston (Toyota Center), Chicago (United Center), Philadelphia (Wells Fargo Center), and New York (Madison Square Garden). Overseas shows begin with a November 19 performance at 3Arena in Dublin, and include shows in London (The O2), Amsterdam (Ziggo Dome), Berlin (Mercedes-Benz Arena), and Paris (AccorHotels Arena) before closing with a December 4 show at Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

Playboi Carti has announced the Antagonist Tour, encompassing North America and Europe this summer and fall. His first headline tour since 2021 opens in Denver, Colorado, on September 6 and takes in dozens of North American cities before reaching Europe in November. This is Playboi Carti’s first headline stint since his arrest in February for allegedly assaulting and choking his pregnant girlfriend at the end of 2022. He was booked on charges of felony aggravated assault and hindering a person making an emergency telephone call. Playboi Carti denied the charges through his lawyer.

Playboi Carti Announces "Antagonist Tour" For 2023

Playboi Carti is going on tour later this year.

Playboi Carti will be performing across North America and Europe, this fall, on his Antagonist Tour . Carti announced the shows on his Instagram Story, Wednesday. It will be his first headlining tour since 2021.

The run of shows will kick off in Denver, Colorado, at Ball Arena on September 6 before traveling to a run of cities in North America including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. On November 19, Carti will travel abroad to perform in Dublin, Ireland at the 3Arena. He's also got shows lined up in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, Paris, and others. Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang will be supporting on select dates.

Playboi Carti Postpones U.S. Dates for Global Tour (UPDATE)

Carti, fresh off a string of memorable festival performances, is taking his mosh-ready stage show global.

UPDATED 8/31, 9:34 p.m. ET: Playboi Carti will hit the road a bit later than expected.

The Georgia-born rapper was scheduled to begin his Antagonist Tour on Sept. 6 in Denver, Colorado, followed by stops in Houston, Los Angeles, NYC, and other major U.S. cities. Just a week before the trek's official kickoff, Carti's team announced he had postponed the tour's U.S. leg to 2024 and would instead start the trek in Europe.

As pointed out by HotNewHipHop , Carti's first stop will be on Nov. 11 in Dublin, Ireland, while his first American show will take place on Jan. 14 in Salt Lake City. Carti has not provided any more details on the postponement, including the cause.

Playboi Carti is taking multiple Opium signees out with him for a new global tour starting this September at the Ball Arena in Denver.

Dubbed the Antagonist Tour, Carti’s worldwide trek—featuring support from Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang—will see him heading out across the U.S. and beyond through early December.

This December will mark three years since the release of Carti’s Whole Lotta Red , the follow-up for which is widely expected to be arriving at some point this year. Though no name has been officially announced, fans will note that the project has at varying points been referred to under several potential titles including Music and Narcissist .

Speaking with Vanessa Satten for XXL last April, Carti succinctly explained the intention behind the possible Music title.

“ Music , because that’s all it is at this point,” he said at the time.

Playboi Carti has pushed back the start of his upcoming “Antagonist Tour.” The tour will now kick off in the UK and Europe beginning in November. The North American leg will following starting in January, with dates running through the end of February. Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang, t.k.a. Playboi Carti has rescheduled the U.S. dates for his previously announced Antagonist Tour . The run of dates was originally slated to kick off on Sept. 6 at the Ball Arena in Denver and criss-cross the nation through an Oct. 20 date at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

The Antagonist Tour is Carti’s first headlining run since his 2021 Narcissist Tour in support of his Billboard 200-topping album Whole Lotta Red . Carti was most recently featured on “Popular” alongside  The Weeknd  and  Madonna , released in support of the The Weeknd’s one-season-and-done HBO series  The Idol . “Popular” peaked at No. 14 on  Billboard ‘s  Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart  and No. 43 on the  Billboard Hot 100 .

Trek kicks off September 6th in Denver

Genre-defying rapper Playboi Carti has announced his upcoming fall 2023 Antagonist Tour. Coming off the heels of headlining several premiere festivals, Carti will continue to wow audiences across the globe with electric live performances and unique fan experiences on tour this fall. Opening in Denver on September 6th, the tour will stop in major cities across the world including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam and more.

Public on sale starts Friday, July 14th at noon local time US and 5 pm in Europe, with Carti Pre-sale happening today (Wed, July 12th) at noon local time US and 5 pm in Europe via Ticketmaster .

The trek is Playboi Carti’s first headline tour since 2021, where he took several cities by storm in support of his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart Whole Lotta Red . The album, released on Christmas day in 2020, sold 100,000 units and received 160 million global streams within its first week.

Support for the tour includes rappers Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang, which will be their first time hitting the road as an Opium Collective. Over the past few years, these rising artists have garnered a passionate fan base and widespread acclaim. Ken Carson’s most recent studio album X landed him a spot on the Billboard 200 chart, and Destroy Lonely’s breakout success this year includes the release of his highly anticipated debut album, If Looks Could Kill , which reached No. 1 on Apple Music and helped earn him his first spot on the Billboard 200. Homixide Gang, a rap duo from Atlanta, released their mixtapes Homixide Lifestyle in 2022 and Snot or Not in 2023. Carson, Lonely, and Homixide Gang have also been touring several major festivals including Bonnaroo, Wireless, Rolling Loud and more.

Playboi Carti is heading on an “Antagonist” arena tour.

While fans are waiting for Playboi Carti’s next project, the rapper has announced the “Antagonist” arena tour which will kick off in the upcoming fall of 2023. The rapper will have support from rapper-producers Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang.

The tour will start on 6th September in Denver and will go through major markets like Las Vegas, Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Atlanta, Dublin, Manchester, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and more before concluding things in Copenhagen on December 4th.

Carti hasn’t released an album since 2020’s “Whole Lotta Red”, which became his first #1 album on Billboard. The project featured guest appearances from Future, Kid Cudi and Kanye West.

Clear Bag Policy

All persons and bags are subject to search. Clear tote bags (including handbags/purses) that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” will be admitted inside after inspection. One-gallon clear plastic freezer or storage bags are also permitted. Small clutch bags or wallets that do not exceed 4.5” x 6.5 “, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the venue along with one of the clear bag options (clear tote or storage bag). Oversized bags (i.e. backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, laptop bags, etc.) are prohibited. Playboi Carti  is taking his show on the road. The Whole Lotta Red rapper just announced he will be embarking on the Antagonist Tour this fall along with his Opium artists  Ken Carson , Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang .

On Wednesday (July 12), Playboi Carti  revealed he will be heading out on his first headlining tour in two years when he hits the road on his Antagonist Tour.  The "Magnolia" rapper will being making 38 stops on the tour, which will touch down in major cities in the North America and Europe. The tour begins on Sept. 6 in Denver, and will make stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Boston, New York, Atlanta, London, Amsterdam and more, before closing out on Dec. 4 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Playboi Carti announces 2024 dates for the Antagonist Tour

P layboi Carti has big plans for 2024. The rapper has confirmed that he will be going on a nationwide tour, in addition to releasing his much-anticipated third album. Carti posted the tour dates on his personal website, which run from January 14 to March 6. 

Carti originally announced the Antagonist Tour in July 2023, with plans to kick things off in November, but the dates were pushed back by several months.

The rapper didn’t give a specific reason for the delay, but many attribute it to the making of his upcoming album, which he has stated will be his “best.”

Carti praised his opening acts during a 2022 interview with XXL :

Ken and Lonely, they are two kids who grew up where I'm from. And they are family. As they got older, they started rapping. I met Homixide about three years ago... They're superstars. I love them. They have my my full focus. That's it."
