Day 01: Arrival Cochin

Depart for Kerala, India our exciting journey to Kerala begins as we board our overnight to Cochin. Upon arrival at Cochin and after clearing customs and immigration procedures and collecting our bags we are met and warmly welcomed by The Travel Planners ground staff and transferred to our hotel for immediate check in. As we drive to our hotel European influences in the architecture of this charming town picturesquely located on a number of islands squeezed between the Arabian Sea and the Kerala backwaters are instantly apparent. Reflecting the maritime history of Kochi, the old buildings are a blend of Dutch, Portuguese and British architecture. Overnight at Hotel / Resort.

Day 02: Cochin - Munnar [140 Km /Approx. 4 Hrs]

The second day of a magical honeymoon starts with breakfast. Later drive to Munnar, a journey across nearly 140 KM. The scenic four (4) hours drive will delight your senses with stunning views of mountains, valleys, and magnificent greenery, as well as two en-route visits to the gorgeous Cheyyapara and Valara waterfalls.

Upon reaching Munnar Hillstation, located 1,600 meters above sea level, newlyweds will enjoy a unique mixture of historical charm and spectacular nature. I hav been there at munnar along with my 13 frnz in search of peace,silence,calm n serenity n dis place is d best place to b. We went there on 25th evening at suryenili base camp from where they took us with a jeep to the camping sight which took around half n hour or so. Bt that road was really challenging and thats d beauty of a trek.it ws n adventurous ride fr us. After dat we reach der at camp sight where we have 7 tents waiting fr us. It ws a full moon n d way d mountains were shining n d clouds were moving accross d mountains with a very vold breezy wind touching d face ws jusss amazing. The tents were comfortable. Der was a bone fire also where we spent more den 2 hrs, singing , dancing, playing games,. N above dem al relaxing in such silence n serenity.

Nex morning it ws 5 o clock wen we hav 2 start our journey yo c d sunrise view from d top.. it ws my first trekking xperince so it ws a little hassled one..bt d sunrise view frm d mountain ws amazingly stunning. We hav been der fr 2 hr or so before coming down to camp sight. While coming back it ws a very panoramic view thru d tea estates. After having delicious brekfast whuch have 3 tyoes of fruits, grams,tea, bread slices, idli n all..it was really Delicious, After having brekfast v again started our journey to base camp..n in d mean while each n every sight r justs eye capturing. It ws really a nice experience.we r planning 2 visit again. Support staff r very nice.

Arrive with the determination to experience India, and make every attempt to adapt; otherwise, this country—which travelers tend to love or hate—might rub you the wrong way.

It helps to be forgiving about some elements of India's inefficiency and over-stretched infrastructure. When this country gained independence in 1947, the new democracy chose nonalignment, set up a large national government, and legislated protectionist policies that kept out most foreign products and led almost too economic isolation. The first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, believed protection-ism would make India self-reliant and ultimately improve the standard of living, especially for the impoverished. India did move toward self-reliance, but lack of competition stifled the country's own development, with its captive market forced to accept indigenous products that were often substandard or old-fashioned. Until recently, the dominant car on India's roads was a copy of the Ambassador, a British design from the early 1950s with a curvaceous yet bulky chassis: a nostalgic gas-guzzler.

Then, in 1991, a severe debt crisis and a shortage of foreign exchange forced the government to initiate economic reforms whose results have been nothing short of astonishing. Having studiously fended off foreign corporations for decades, India is suddenly encouraging them to invest. That was a very exciting and fascinating Private Tour with a great driver arranged by a splendid Travel agency. We had comfortable hotels and on the top of that a terrific eco houseboat with all the facilities and meals that made our cruise on backwaters a really wonderful experience. Love all the birds and local villages you can spot and observe during this wonderful private cruise. Munnar is a different planet with all those tea plantations and green areas everywhere. Kochi has its own ambience and it's really worth taking a stroll in search of interesting murals. Kathakali show is a bit long but all in all worth watching since the performance has its own quality. Sunil - our perfect driver did his best and was really careful while driving on the winding roads of Kerala. Everything we asked for was provided and organised properly are extremally happy.

I had a great time in Kerala. I loved the scenery, the culture, and most of all, the people. Our driver, Mr. Sibu, was terrific. I'd love to come back to Kerala and have him as my driver again. The guides in Kochi and Munnar were also great—they were knowledgeable and flexible. We weren't too happy with the initial boat we were given for our Backwater tour, but the company quickly changed us to another boat, which was great. The hotels were all good and the staff were very helpful. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

It was an unforgettable journey that allowed me to experience the diverse culture, history, and natural beauty of this region. The tour started in the bustling city of Chennai, where I was immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere and rich history of the city. From there, we traveled to the quaint town of Mamallapuram, known for its ancient temples and rock-cut monuments. Next, we made our way to the famous city of Puducherry, a former French colony that still retains much of its colonial charm. All went smoothly, good srandard of accommodation and flexibility in the itinerary. Driver spoke reasonable English so we were able to communicate and he made some suggestions which were appreciated. Houseboat was relaxing, great crew and experience.
