The Head SPEED TEAM L 2022 is the lightest in the Speed Series for 2022 and replaces the SPEED LITE of the past. This racquet provides players improving players a lightweight, maneuverable option to ensure adequate racquet head speed, even while learning to cover the court and improve their racquet preparation.  The specs of this model make it super versatile for juniors moving up to an adult frame, or newer players seeking something very easy to swing.

While Graphene carries forward in the composition of this racquet, the addition of Auxetic is NEW! Auxetic constructions show a unique deformation compared to non-Auxetic constructions. Due to their internal properties, Auxetic constructions widen when a “pull” force is applied and contract when squeezed. The bigger the applied force, the bigger the Auxetic reaction. And with a new matte and gloss finish for 2022, this racquet looks as great as it plays!

HEAD Speed 2022 Racquets

There are new HEAD Speed 2022 racquets that I’m testing at the moment. I will review the following models, MP, Pro, Team and MP L.

The HEAD Speed 2022 racquets look quite similar to the 2019 model when it comes to graphics. There are some slight refinements though, which in my mind improves the look and makes it a bit more premium. The specs are also pretty much unchanged from the previous generation of Speeds called HEAD Graphene 360+ Speed , the update besides the cosmetics is the addition of Auxetic.

What is Auxetic? Well, the auxetic is a material technology that you can read about here.  The idea of adding it to the new HEAD racquets like Boom  is to increase the feel and the connection to the ball. There is a slight difference between Graphene 360+ racquets and Auxetic racquets, but it’s slight. I would call it a refinement more than an update.

Please suggest to Dennis Fabian when you next have him on your channel that HEAD offer an 18×19 version of the Speed. If memory serves, Roman Prokes suggested such a setup for Novak and indeed he’s been playing with it. Wouldn’t it make sense for HEAD to offer the same configuration of the frame he (ND) endorses?

For some us, 16×19 is just too lively and for flatter hitters provides too unpredictable a launch angle. 18×20 is better but as we age 18×19 is more forgiving and therefore suits us better.

Absolutely agree! Had many troubles with the liveness of MP and now – with the weight and lack of power of the Pro version. 18×19 at 305g would be just fine

Auxetic construction enables widening when a pull force is applied and then contracts when squeezed. The bigger the force that is applied, the bigger the Auxetic reaction. Graphene Inside features strategically positioned Graphene to strengthen the frame which in turn provides increased stability and energy transfer from the racquet to the ball.

Like the Head Boom Team 2022, the Head Team L 2022 has been much anticipated!

Finally, a 107 square inch head without the ridiculous thick beam and ultra-lightweight, a legitimate “tweener”!

The Boom Team L has the highest power level assigned to recent Head racquets coming in at “900”, compared to the Boom Team at 800 and the Boom Pro at 400. If a power racquet is what you are looking for, this may be a good choice!

The Boom Team L is a slightly longer racquet at 27.35 inches. This increase in length increases the swing weight without adding weight. You can think of swing weight as “leverage.”

The Boom Team L incorporates all the newest materials and design chops of the viral Boom Pro and Boom MP.

To simplify the returns process, we offer a pre-filled returns form that you can use to return your item. However, if you are returning an item from outside the UK, you will be responsible for the shipping costs, which must include tracking information.

Once we receive your returned item, we will provide a full refund for the value of the goods, minus the cost of us sending the order to you initially.

Warranty Policy

Within 30 days of receipt of the items:.

If you have received items with genuine manufacturer defects, you are entitled to a simple 30-day warranty from the retailer. Simply return the items within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange.

More than 30 days?

If it has been more than 30 days since receipt of the items, we will work with the brands or suppliers to determine whether the defect can be covered under warranty. In most cases, the defect will be covered, but the outcome may depend on how the damage occurred.

Still not covered but within 6 months of purchase?

If the items are not covered under warranty but are still within six months of purchase, we offer a crash replacement policy. This means that we will provide a 25% discount off your next order for the same or an alternative replacement item. Please note that this does not include postage costs.
