Cruisin' Hines
Late aug - hines park.
The biggest classic car cruise in the country all in one 7.5 mile park. No stop lights, plenty of parking and lots of food vendors, or bring your own food and bbq on one of many bbq's in the park. All vehicles must be 25 years or older, no motorcycles.
- **$5 Donation per Car: Please Have Exact Change!**
- E.N. Hines Dr. closed for all except Classic Cars/Trucks, 25 years & older. Click HERE for a full description of allowed cars.
- Park opens at 9am for Cruisers.
- Cruisers must enter at Ford Road. No entry at Ann Arbor Trail / Nankin Mills or Merriman Rd.
- Spectators can park at Merriman Rd., Telegraph Rd. and Warrendale, but may not drive onto E.N. Hines Drive. ** Note for Spectators: Parking is limited. Once these lots are full, spectators will need to park off-site.**
- The pavilions will be open to the public. Vendors will be there with food and event goodies.
- All State of Michigan rules apply.
- All park and motor vehicle laws apply.
- No motorcycles, mini-bikes, or golf carts.
- Bicycles must use the bike path or follow State of Michigan bicycle laws. No passing on the right. Follow the flow of traffic.
- Zero tolerance for burn-outs, drunk driving. No racing starts.
- No passing. No parking on the paved shoulder. Paved shoulder must be left clear for emergency traffic.
- No unapproved commercial banners.
- No unapproved vendors or commercial vehicles

Cruisin’ Hines, nicknamed “The Cruise that Henry Started,” is another can’t-miss auto event of the summer. What makes this one special? It’s a purist’s dream cruise boasting classic cars and hot rods only. That being said, there’s only one entrance with a single intersection: Ford Road. The park opens bright and early for cruisers at 9 a.m. Spectators can park at Merriman Rd., Telegraph Rd. and Warrendale, but may not drive onto E.N. Hines Drive.
People come from all across the country to cruise their classic cars around the Motor City. Pavilions are open to the public, and vendors will be selling cruise goodies and tasty food. Break out the lawn chairs and bring the entire family to Hines Park for a laid back day of car talk and photo ops. No squealing tires, no traffic jams, with only a $5 admission fee for vehicles.
The MCR parking spot will be on the north side of Hines just east of Inkster Rd. You must enter the cruise via the Evergreen entrance.

Hines Drive Lightfest Closures And 2023 Schedule
Wayne County Lightfest, a five-mile stretch of Hines Park displaying nearly 50 animated holiday themed displays, will be open Wednesday - Sunday from Thursday, November 16, 2023 until Sunday, December 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
The Lightfest will be closed Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Hines is a great stretch of road. Considering it's slap in the middle of a city. I used to exercise the cars from the Roush stable on that road back in the day.

There were 11 buildings in that complex Jer. You must have off loaded at the building housing the machine shop, engine build shop, purchasing, the SCCA build shop and my little corner way in the back, Special Vehicles dept. Perhaps we crossed paths there.

We are announcing that the 2023 Cruisin' Hines event is cancelled for this year. I have been in the park this morning checking things out and talking with Parks Management. Last nights rain sealed the deal that the park will not be dry enough to drive or park in the park.

Sunday August 27, 2023 - Hines Park Cruise - Nolar Bend - Due to construction at Ford Road and Hines Park the entrance to park has been changed to Newburgh Road. No left turn allowed from southbound Newburgh, Stark Rd and Joy Rd will be closed and no entrance off Ann Arbor Trail. Only Classic cars 25 year or older allowed entrance.

Plenty of places to park your classic. Bring a tent if you like. Don't forget your picnic basket. I also cruised the Woodward Dream Cruise for many years. Became a nightmare for me 3 years ago. Too many spectator vehicles. No more Dream Cruise for me, Hines is very enjoyable. The Hines promotors are strict on the vehicles being 25 years or older.

Cruisin' Hines only allows Classic Cars and Hot Rods. In order to keep it this way, the entrance must be monitored. Monitoring takes manpower. Currently, there is only enough manpower to staff one entrance.
