NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick to host 2024 Pop 2000 Tour

O-Town, BBMAK, Ryan Cabrera & LFO return for 2024 tour

On the heels of a highly acclaimed 2023 tour, the Pop 2000 Tour hosted by Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC will return in 2024 with a 26-city run starting in March. The lineup of platinum hit-making pop stars includes O-Town, BBMAK, Ryan Cabrera, and LFO, who will perform some of the era’s iconic hits such as “Summer Girls,” “All or Nothing,” and “Bye, Bye Bye.”

The tour will kick off March 9th in St. Lucie, FL, at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center before hitting cities such as Phoenix, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, and Detroit. The 26-date trek will wrap up July 14th at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH.

Tickets are available now via pop2000tour.com .

Chris Kirkpatrick is an American singer, dancer, actor, and voice actor best known for his work as a founding member of the pop group *NSYNC. As a voice actor, he has worked on numerous kids’ shows, including voicing Chip Skylark’s character on The Fairly Oddparents . In 2022, he competed in season three of Celebrity Big Brother and The Masked Singer .

O-Town’s story began in 1999, when “Making the Band” chronicled the rise to success of O-Town throughout three seasons of the series on both ABC and MTV. The group’s first two full-length albums included No. 1 singles, “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and the Top 40 hit “We Fit Together.” “All or Nothing” was nominated for Song of the Year at the Radio Music Awards in 2001.

BBMAK was originally formed in 1997, and BBMAK (Mark Barry, Christian Burns, and Stephen McNally) is officially “Back Here” after a 15-year hiatus. The multi-platinum-selling English pop group has sold more than three million albums and had hit singles worldwide before disbanding in 2003. Best known for their self-penned infectious guitar-driven hits “Back Here,” “Out of My Heart,” and “The Ghost of You and Me,” BBMAK was one of the few bands during the pop explosion of the early 2000s to play their instruments and write their songs.

LFO burst onto the scene in 1999 with the No. 1 smash hit “Summer Girls,” followed by another top-five hit in “Girl on TV” and the top-ten hit “Every Other Time.” Today, lone surviving member Brad Fischetti keeps the name of LFO alive, performing the songs to fans, new and old.

Joey Fatone and AJ McLean Are Crossing the Boy-Band Streams on a Joint Tour

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

At the turn of the millennium, the battle lines in the boy-band wars were fairly clear. You were either on Team Backstreet Boys or Team ‘NSync. Some fans took a Switzerland-like stance and professed equal love for both groups, but they were mostly full of shit. Everyone had a favorite.

The cold war turned hot when ‘NSync’s Chris Kirkpatrick and the Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean dated the same woman a couple of years apart. “I wanted to punch AJ’s lights out for a little while,” Kirkpatrick said years later. “I guess he was talking smack to her about me, so I confronted him on it and wanted to kick his ass.”

This year, Backstreet Boys are off the road, which frees up McLean up for a collaborative tour with ‘NSync’s Joey Fatone that will officially mark the last vestiges of any sense of rivalry between the two groups. They have yet to finalize the set list, but expect them to cross the boy-band streams by playing each other’s songs throughout the evening.

We hopped on a Zoom with McLean and Fatone to hear about the history of their supposed feud, how they came together for this tour, what fans can expect once they take the stage together, and the ultimate dream of an ‘NSync/Backstreet Boys mega tour.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

AJ McLean: The Tupperware, yes. Over off of freakin’ OBT [Orange Blossom Trail].

Joey: I knew them before Brian [Littrell] and Kevin [Richardson] were in the group. I knew the Backstreet Boys before they were really the Backstreet Boys.

What were your first impressions of them? Joey: “Why is everybody else doing this and I’m not doing that? That’s what I want to do.” I saw New Kids do it back in the day too. “Why am I not doing that?”

AJ, what’s your first memory of Joey? AJ: Before I knew anybody else in the group, just from hanging around in the Orlando area, Joey was doing stuff at Universal, and I knew people at Universal, and we crossed paths quite a few times. I knew that he was a singer. But the first time I knew about ‘NSync as a whole was when Lou [Pearlman] and our previous manager, Johnny [Wright], had kind of signed them. We had heard that they were kind of similar to us, but we didn’t really know. We had been going already and we were just burnt out, fried … tour, tour, tour. And Disney came to us and they asked us to do a special of some sorts.

Joey: It was a concert special that they were doing with a lot of different artists that were doing performances around Universal. They were doing that a lot.

Lance Bass Won't Let Justin Timberlake Live Down 'It's Gonna Be May' or His Blonde Hair on TikTok

Nick and aaron carter are 'fallen idols' in new doc trailer, max martin is pop's ultimate mystery man. he wants it that way.

AJ: The rest is history. That changed things for them, kind of overnight really.

The boy-band lore is that the Backstreet Boys were initially less than thrilled that this new boy band was suddenly on the scene. Is that true? AJ: No, it’s not “less than thrilled.” Look, there was always healthy competition. Period. But because there was no social media, because we all weren’t hanging out together … back then press was different. It was magazines. There was no online. So the press was basically depicting this theory that we were against each other, and that was never the case. And we never really had an opportunity, either group, to speak on it because everybody’s lives were going full speed. We did multiple shows with these guys. We did the Radio Music Awards, Billboard Awards.

Joey, is that how you saw it? Joey: Yeah. A few of us always would talk and say hi to each other, but they always kind of … kept us away just to make it a competition to make us do better. We were like, “What could we do just to be above everybody?” It wasn’t like, “Oh, we need to beat them. We need to be better than them.” It was more like, “No, man, let’s try to do what we’re going to do, and we just want to be number one.” But when you get older, you start to realize, “That’s not even the main purpose of anything because if we all are able to go on the same thing, who cares if we’re number one or number two?”

Joey: When we finally got together, it was always like, “Do we have any animosity?” It’s like, “No.” They just kept us away from each other because of what was going on with the whole Lou thing, becoming a sixth member. They didn’t want us to talk to each other about what was going on behind the scenes with Pearlman.

AJ: Yeah, I think probably the only time that some of my boys were a little bit … was when Jive Records signed ‘NSync. We had the same label, same managers, same producers. It was like, “OK, now it’s a little too much. We can all coexist and we can all help each other, but now it’s like everyone’s doing the same thing.”

AJ: One of my all-time favorites from those guys is “Digital Get Down.” I just love the lyrics. I love the flow of this song. Who produced that?

Joey: What’s his face … David Nicoll. Do you remember him?

AJ: Yeah! There were songs of theirs that me, personally, I’m like, “Man, that would’ve been a great Backstreet record.” “Pop” was one of them. “Gone” too. It’s funny because “It’s Gotta Be You” and “It’s Gonna Be Me” were both like … You’re just changing one word. “It’s Gonna Be Me” is one of my favorite ‘NSync videos. I thought that was genius with the dolls.

Joey: Thank you, sir.

AJ: It was comparable to “Backstreet’s Back” where we did full makeup. But I really think “It’s Gonna Be Me” was ‘NSync’s “Backstreet’s Back,” video-wise.

Joey: We never had the bodies to do the rain stuff. That didn’t work for us.

AJ: You weren’t missing out on anything. Trust me.

Joey, what were your favorite Backstreet Boys songs? Joey: “Quit Playing Games,” that’s my favorite song. It’s quite possibly my all-time favorite. The first time I heard it, I was like, “That’s a badass song. You sons of bitches, damn it.” And “Larger Than Life” is a great one too. When you take a song like that apart and deconstruct it or just listen to the harmony, you realize it’s just dope. You have got to give credit where it’s due.

How did you first get the idea for this collaborative tour? Joey: It really started with my idea of having different guys from different groups. The idea of it came back way back when I did Dancing With the Stars. It was with Drew Lachey, Joey McIntyre, and Joey Lawrence. My whole idea was more of a Rat Pack feel.

AJ: That’s a lot of Joeys.

But now that everybody sees it, they’re like, “Oh, my God, this is the frickin’ greatest thing ever.” I said, “It’d be fun if we sang each other’s song and then either poke fun at each other and then maybe we can do some new material. What about songs that you’ve never sang before and always wanted to sing?” So that’s how that became about. And I started doing shows with Dee Snider and Scott Stapp and all these people. But of course, what really worked was me and AJ.

AJ, how does it feel to sing ‘NSync songs? It’s gotta be weird, like seeing Mick Jagger do “Hey Jude” or something. AJ : Well, I’ll take that compliment. Honestly, it’s really fun. It’s fresh because I have no shame in saying I am an ‘NSync fan. I’m a fan of good music, and they’ve got great songs, and they have an amazing catalog. So to get up there and to sing these songs with a member of that band, it’s just fuckin’ cool.

One of the other things that I love about this show is that we have a live band, so we can change the show from night to night. This show is just ever evolving. We’re going to sing each other’s songs and sing songs of other groups that we’re fans of that take you back, whether it’s Green Day or Nirvana. We just added Lady Gaga to the set. It is like a Vegas revue. It’s got a little bit of everything. It’s got comedy, it’s got heart, it’s got great music. It’s got a lot of great interaction with the audience.

Joey, how do you feel when you sing “Backstreet’s Back?” Is that a weird moment for you? Joey: One time I yelled, “Give it up for ‘NSync!” at one of the shows. It automatically went to my brain out of nowhere. I’m used to hearing my guys sing the songs every night. To hear a different person sing those lines differently from what you’re used to, I like that. It’s a change of pace. I’m sure AJ hears Nick every night singing certain lines. He doesn’t often hear me sing one of his lines. So it’s different, and I think it’s a cool, fun take on it.

We did a show that was Joey, Nick, and Lance during Pride. Joey and Lance taught Nick and I the choruses to “Bye Bye Bye.” So the four of us did full-on choreography, and the audience went nuts. They were like, “Oh, my God, you guys know the moves?” It’s like, “We’ve known them for years — we’ve just never done them together live in a show.”

A ton of Nineties nostalgia conventions have popped up in recent years. What do you think is driving that? Joey: What goes around comes around in a circle. It sounds funny to say that we’re kind of nostalgia. We are, but we’re not. We’re still working and still doing things, but our songs and our music, you got to be real. It’s over 20 years now, 30 years for some of our songs.

A lot of these women are now in their 30s, 40s. They have children; they want an outlet. They want something to experience. They want to relive their childhood. So this is something almost like giving thanks [to fans] for all the years that you’ve been supportive for us.

What have these conventions been like for you, AJ? AJ: It’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever done. We’ve done meet-and-greets and it’s so fast-paced, you don’t really get to spend quality time with your amazing fans. And doing these Cons, you’re going at your own pace. So when you’re at your booth and the fans come up and they get an autograph and they get a photo, you could talk to one girl for 15 minutes if you want to.

You get to hear them tell you these great stories of why they’re fans and how they’re moms now, and they got their kids into it now, this whole new generation. It reminds you why you love what you do, and it just keeps you going.

Plus, Joey and I are both geeks. We take breaks during the Cons, and we’ll walk around and buy stuff. I’m a huge comic book nerd. So I’m getting comics, and then Funkos. My poor wife is just like, “I don’t understand.” I’m like, “You’re not supposed to understand. This is what I like.” There’s worse hobbies I could have. Comic books and Funkos and sneakers. Those are my vices.

Joey: The thing that really sets me and AJ apart from everybody else is we are performers. We love to perform onstage. Whatever it is, let’s go for it. Whether it be acting, whether it be singing. So I think that’s kind of why this works as far as us performing onstage.

Joey, when ‘NSync split, you were relatively young. It forced you to go out and really reinvent yourself. Joey: Well, thank God it didn’t force me. I wanted to. It wasn’t like, “Oh damn, I’m out of a job. What have I got to do?” It was more or less, “Holy shit, these doors are opened. Let’s see if I can walk in. I may suck, but let’s find out.”

I always wanted to do Broadway. Right after ‘NSync, I did Rent on Broadway. I did Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway. And then when I did Dancing With the Stars, people saw my personality. People were like, “Oh, he’s not just a guy from ‘NSync. He’s actually a person that actually acts.” It was interesting the path that I had to go through, but it was amazing.

AJ: Joey’s got to fulfill a lot of dreams that have been on my plate since I was six years old. I’m a huge fan. I mean, I grew up in musical theater, so to be able to do Broadway someday is on my bucket list. To do a movie, on my bucket list. Joey’s done three My Big Fat Greek Wedding s.

AJ, speaking solely as ‘NSync fan, are you hoping they tour one day with all five of them? AJ: Honestly, I am. And there’s been so many talks. Even before Trolls and before them coming together again, there’s been so many years of talks of Backstreet and ‘NSync touring together and a stadium tour. I’m not trying to start a new rumor. But if Backstreet, ‘NSync, and Spice Girls did a tour together, the world would melt down.

There are no stadiums big enough for a tour like that. AJ: What a great, almost like send-off moment that would be for everyone’s career. And it’s only for the fans, to say one big giant thank you for years and years of being loyal fans to all of us.

AJ, is there talk of a new Backstreet Boys record? You guys had a legit hit on the last one. AJ: We definitely have a lot of things coming up that are kind of on the QT, but definitely we are not done. We want to go back to Vegas at some point down the road. We would love to go back to do another residency, a little longer. We didn’t even expect the residency that we did to go two years. It was supposed to be nine shows, and it became 81 shows, the fastest-selling residency in Vegas history.

But 2024, we’re all taking a break. We’re doing a couple of one-offs. I just released my first single. I have my first EP coming out shortly, and then there will be even more music from me over the course of the summer and the end of the year, and then eventually touring on my own.

But being able to do my solo stuff in this show with Joey, it’s an honor, it’s a privilege, and I’m very grateful for it because I get to be myself even more so in a show like this. Joey and I are very much paralleled universe. We’re very much similar individuals in many facets of our life, onstage and offstage. We really complement one another. But there is definitely some really big things on the horizon for Backstreet.

The Beach Boys are still touring in their 80s. There’s no reason you can’t do the same thing. AJ: Kevin said that we would love to be the Rolling Stones of pop. I mean, crap, we’re coming up on 31 years. Before you know it, we’re going to blink our eyes, and it’ll be 40 years. I don’t think we’ll be dancing at 40 years, just so you know.

Joey: I think Kevin is going to look exactly the same. I think he drank vampire’s blood. He’ll look exactly the same, and have hair.

AJ: I’m very jealous of that, by the way.

Joey: We’re all jealous.

People are never going to stop wanting to hear you guys sing these songs. Joey: I’m going to be 90 in Vegas going [sings “I Want You Back” in an old man’s voice], “You’re the one that I want/You’re the one that I need.”

So is this tour the final bit of evidence that any Backstreet/’NSync feud, real or imagined, is 100 percent over? Joey: I don’t think there’s been any animosity since 1997. Chris and AJ had a thing, but that was because of a girl.

AJ: We dated the same girl two years apart, and that was it. Now we’re the best of friends. We have so much in common. He’s a dad. I’m a dad. He’s married. We’re boys now.

There’s been a lot of debate over which group was bigger. What’s your take? Joey: I mean, there’s no competition. We are. We’re the biggest group ever.

AJ: Clearly, 30 years says everything. I mean, come on.

Every year that passes, the demand for an ‘NSync tour just grows. It’ll be such a big deal when it happens. Joey: I don’t know if I want to be there for it. I’m nervous.

AJ: I’ll be front row, man. It’s going to be really hard for me not to want to jump onstage and sing all your songs.

When Chris Kirkpatrick didn’t make the cut for the Backstreet Boys line-up, notorious music mogul Lou Pearlman had a stroke of genius and created his own unique boyband. Recruiting JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, N’Sync were born probably one of the biggest American boy bands of the late nineties. This bubblegum pop band were teenage heartthrobs and that didn’t go unnoticed by the hordes of swooning fans across the world.

Their self-titled album released in 1997 featuring the breakthrough single “Tearin’ Up My Heart” debuted at number two in the Billboard charts. Stylised as the all-American pop boyband was a no-brainer especially at a time when pop ruled the charts. The radio stations loved them, so did MTV and obviously so did their fans. Their second album “No Strings Attached” (2000) saw them really come into their own, stepping out and bringing a more upbeat album that sounded like N’Sync and not having to be compared to any other pop boy band. Selling almost 10 million copies of the album saw them clinch the title of best-selling album of the decade and also top-selling album of 2000. Delving into a dancier side of pop, the band released “Bye, Bye, Bye” which remained in the top 5 of Hot 100 Airplay charts for 5 weeks. The album also scored them their first number one in the singles chart with “It’s Gonna Be Me”. “Celebrity” (2001) their third album saw the band evolve even more as they became more involved in its creative process with Chasez and Timberlake writing and producing some tracks and also saw them collaborate with rapper Nelly on “Girlfriend”. What is a boyband without a good live show? As well as being super-talented, the N’Sync lads are natural born entertainers. They certainly don’t do things by halves, and their show are nothing short of spectacular. Playing arena tours all over the world is the perfect platform for the band to really put their heart and soul into each and every performance. It’s no surprise that they have thousands upon thousands of adoring fans turn up to their shows dressed in band merchandise and holding home-made signs expressing their love for the band. Everything in an N’Sync show is expertly executed, singing and choreographed dancing simultaneously is no easy feat but they make it look like a walk in the park. Props are a focal point of their live shows, whether it’s them entering the stage with “No Strings Attached” and literally having strings attached them as if they were being controlled by a marionette or even “It’s Gonna Be Me” and recreating the music video of them playing in a toy shop. Each song on the set list is another themed setting. Between quick wardrobe changes the crowd are still being entertained with comic relief footage being shown on the video screens or by having a band member entertaining the crowd like Timberlake beatboxing. The crowd are an integral part of any N’Sync show, showing the band an incredible amount of love whether it’s through dancing, singing, cheering or being moved to tears. What is certain is that N’Sync have a very passionate and loyal following.

As well as being a highly energised show, N’Sync sure know how to rein it in and slow it down with carefully selected ballads like “God Must Have Spent a Little More Time On You”, “Gone” and “That’s When I’ll Stop Loving You”. The moment when the band stop to sing “I Thought She Knew” acapella, is spine-chilling, a sentiment shared by those watching in awe. The 5 part harmonies are tight and as corny as it may sound, as perfectly in sync demonstrating what incredible vocalists they are not only individually but as a unit.

Having “Digital Get Down” and “Bye Bye Bye” for the encore is met with rapturous applause, as they close with pyro, smoke, confetti and flashing lights- the full works. You’re never short of entertainment at an N’Sync show, great fun, amazing harmonies, catchy pop tunes and a full production. What more could you want?

N'sync captured my little heart at five years old and have held onto it ever since. I saw this heartthrob of a boy band when I was in first grade and it has stuck in my memory as one of the happiest days of my childhood. I spent weeks making the perfect poster to hold up at the concert, and begged my mom to buy me a t-shirt that had their faces on it.

The boy band's catchy pop lyrics and mesmerizing dance moves had me standing up and singing every single word to every single song. I think I even teared up when Justin sang one of the slower songs. I was so in love with him... (and I still am!)

If I could relive that night, I totally would! They definitely put on a great show and it was one I will never forget. It's a shame that they're no longer together and I'm forever hoping for a reunion concert!

‘N Sync has officially confirmed dates and venues for its upcoming North American stadium tour. Dubbed Pop Odyssey, the run will kick off May 12 in Miami’s Pro Player Stadium and wrap Aug. 18 at the Liberty Bowl Stadium in Memphis, Tenn. Not long into the tour, the Grammy-nominated boy band will release its next album, the follow-up to “No Strings Attached,” which set a new record for first week sales last March after it moved 2.4 million copies. The as-yet-untitled album, the group’s second for teen-pop powerhouse Jive, is due out in June. As previously reported, support will vary throughout the tour, with BBmak and 3LW on board in the first few weeks. The production is expected to be extravagant, with pyrotechnics and large video elements allowing the group to interact with the audience. “Fans of ‘N Sync will see a completely different show in the stadiums than that of the other venues they have played,” said Bruce Kapp , senior VP of touring, SFX Music Group, in a statement. Tickets for 19 shows — including dates in Miami, Chicago, Kansas City, Mo., and East Rutherford, N.J. — are already on sale. Ticket information for remaining dates will be released in the coming weeks, and will be updated on the group’s official Web site. “No Strings Attached,” which in December earned the Recording Industry Association Of America’s diamond award for U.S. sales of 10 million copies, is at No. 38 on The Billboard 200 this week. About the Artists:

Chris Kirkpatrick is an American singer, dancer, actor, and voice actor best known for his work as a founding member of the pop group *NSYNC. As a voice actor, he has worked on numerous kids’ shows, including voicing Chip Skylark’s character on “The Fairly Oddparents.” In 2022, he competed in Season 3 of “Celebrity Big Brother” and “The Masked Singer.”

O-Town ’s story began in 1999, when “Making the Band” chronicled the rise to success of O-Town throughout three seasons of the series on both ABC and MTV. The group’s first two full-length albums included #1 singles, “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and the Top 40 hit “We Fit Together.” “All or Nothing” was nominated for Song of the Year at the Radio Music Awards in 2001.

Best known for their self-penned infectious guitar-driven hits “Back Here,” “Out of My Heart,” and “The Ghost of You and Me,” BBMAK was one of the few bands during the pop explosion of the early 2000s to play their own instruments and write their own songs. Billboard recently named “Back Here” the 9th greatest boy band song of all time.

LFO burst onto the scene in 1999 with the #1 smash hit “Summer Girls,” followed by another top-five hit in “Girl on TV” and the top-ten hit “Every Other Time.” Today, lone surviving member Brad Fischetti keeps the name of LFO alive, performing the songs to fans, new and old.

Is *NSYNC Going On Tour? Here's Everything We Know.

Is *nsync going on tour here’s everything we know..

In the realm of pop music nostalgia, one question has been reverberating through the hearts of fans worldwide: Is *NSYNC Going On Tour?

As the iconic boy band that captured the hearts of a generation with their harmonious melodies and synchronized dance moves, *NSYNC remains a timeless symbol of 90s and early 2000s pop culture.

The mere mention of a potential reunion tour sends waves of excitement and anticipation rippling through their dedicated fanbase.

And with the band’s recent public outing at the VMA’s after nearly a decade, fans everywhere cannot help but wonder what is next from the band?

Is *NSYNC Going On Tour? Here’s Everything We Know

If you grew up in the 90s, early 2000s it’s likely that you know and love every single song from *NSYNC. They were one of the top boy bands of the century.

And if that is true, then it is also true that you would probably cash out your 401K or even sell your home to afford concert tickets should they go on a reunion tour.

So, is that actually happening? Is *NSYNC actually going on tour and more importantly, is *NSYNC making more music?

The short answer is, no – there is not OFFICIAL confirmation from the band or the band’s manager that a reunion or a tour is happening.

In fact, earlier today, TMZ said that sources told them that the band has “no plans to tour, do a residency, album, or any other pop-up reunions.”

However, there are tons of signs and clues that there may be something coming from *NSYNC and soon.

Let’s take a look at what we know…

Is *NSYNC releasing a new song?

Rumors have been circulating that *NSYNC has new music. The first clue was a video that began circulating of Justin Timberlake and JC Chavez in a recording studio.

Turns out, fans were right – *NSYNC will have a new song. According to TMZ, sources confirmed that the band is recording a new song for the new Trolls movie. They said:

we’ve confirmed the rumors the group is featured on a song for the upcoming movie, “Trolls Band Together” … which focuses on Justin Timberlake’s character reuniting with his 4 brothers who were all part of a boy band in the past — pretty meta. TMZ

Therefore, we will see new music for the movie.

But aside from that? Is anything else to come?

Well, only time will tell. While diehard *NSYNC fans like myself are trying to “read between the lines” there is just rumor and speculation out there at this point for an *NSYNC reunion tour.

Although, I can speak for all the *NSYNC fans when I say, we want this more than anything. Now that we are 30+ year olds with adult money, no amount is too much for concert tickets.

I mean, I’d even take a *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and 98 Degrees Millennial Reunion Tour and it needs to happen STAT. None of us are getting any younger!

Seriously. Read it: Is *NSYNC Going On Tour? Here’s Everything We Know.

Is NSYNC Going on Tour? Justin Timberlake Reunites the Band for First Performance in 10 Years

J.T. gave Los Angeles fans the surprise of their lives when he brought out the members of NSYNC during his latest concert. Find out if they're going on tour together.

nsync, justin timberlake, jc chasez, lance bass, chris kirkpatrick, joey fatone

NSYNC fans rejoice! The beloved boy band reunited for their first performance since 2013 during his latest Los Angeles concert on March 13, 2024. Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass , Joey Fatone,   and  Chris Kirkpatrick brought the crowd to tears as they sang some of their biggest hits, like “Bye Bye Bye,” “It’s Gonna Be Me,” “Girlfriend” and their latest single “Paradise.” Last year, the group dropped “Better Place” as part of the Trolls Band Together  soundtrack on September 29, 2023. While it’s not certain what other projects will come of the reunion, it’s certainly exciting to seesinging together again. Not only that, but the band collaborated on the song titled “Paradise” on Justin’s 2024 album, Everything I Thought I Was .

Along with the new music, fans are clamoring to see the boy band take the stage again! It’s been over a decade since the group’s last musical reunion, and it’s been even longer since their last full-blown tour. Lance did hint that there was some hope for an NSYNC reunion in an appearance in the online game show Rent Free .  Hollywood Life has all the details for you, below.

NSYNC Reunite for New Music

Reports that NSYNC had gotten back in the studio for the new song had surfaced back in August. Before announcing the track, the boy band took the stage at the 2023 MTV VMAs to present   Taylor Swift   with the Best Pop award. “Over 20 years ago, we were just kids when we won Best Pop Video for ‘Bye Bye Bye.’ It was our first VMA, and it meant the world to us. It validated our hard work,” Justin said at the start of the presentation.

Ahead of the official track announcement, the band had lip-synced along to the audio from a Friends  scene asking “Do you know something?” It was later revealed that “Better Place” would be a part of the  Trolls Band Together  soundtrack. Snippets of the band singing the new track can be heard in the trailer . Justin voices the Branch character in the movie.

Justin also dropped the track list for his 2024 album, which includes one collab with NSYNC titled “Paradise.”

Is NSYNC Going on Tour?

While nothing official has been announced, Lance did hint that he hoped to have more to tell fans in the near future during the  Rent Free  appearance, per  Page Six .  “Look, we are talking about it — and I hope to have some good news, at some point,” he said when talking about the reunion.

Joey Fatone had spoken to Hollywood Life about the possibility of a reunion in an exclusive interview in November. He said that he hoped to have a definite answer for fans in the near future. “I don’t mind answering, because of the fact that hopefully soon, I will get an answer,” he said. “Whether it be yes, whether it be no, I hate saying, ‘I don’t know yet,’ but it is true.”

Joey also expressed some hope for a reunion so that his daughters could get to experience what the band was like. “My kids have never really seen me perform with NSYNC. So for people that are fans that grew up listening to us, I feel almost the same way. It sounds weird, but it is true because I want my kids to see what I did,” he said.

Earlier, Lance said that the quintet isn’t planning on a reunion tour, in an Entertainment Tonight   interview. As the interviewer mentioned that fans have been clamoring for a tour, he said that there’s nothing on the horizon. “Hopefully in a perfect world, that might happen one day, but again, no plans right now,” he said.

While there’s nothing set in stone, Lance did seem open to the idea. He admitted that the group were listening to the fans. “I’ve been telling the fans: we don’t have solid plans right now, because we’re waiting for the strike to end. We’ve got things to do, but they’re definitely shaping our future,” he told  ET. Ahead of Lance’s interview, a report from TMZ   said that they didn’t plan on touring, releasing an album, or doing a residency.

Most recently, Justin appeared on  The Kelly Clarkson Show   on January 30, 2024, and confirmed that he and his pals have been working on new music together. “And also as it pertains to harmonies… I’ve spent some time with four other guys doing a lot of harmonies,” he said during the talk show appearance.

J.T. also touched on their 2023 reunion. “That was fun,” he said to Kelly Clarkson . “It’s kind of crazy, like, there’s so much that just picks up right where it left off as far as the chemistry.” Additionally, Justin reassured NSYNC fans that something is coming soon. “We’ve been in the studio, so there may be a little something in the future, too,” he added. Despite the exciting tease, Justin did not reveal if he and his bandmates will release a new album or if they will head on tour this year.

Less than two months later, Justin invited his bandmates to perform with him during a concert in L.A., fueling rumors that there could possibly be a tour in the near future. Nevertheless, they haven’t confirmed the rumors.

Earlier NSYNC Reunions

While NSYNC split up in 2005, the boy band has gotten together on a handful of occasions over the years for both musical and non-musical reunions. When Justin earned the Video Vanguard award at the 2013 MTV VMAs, the group was part of his medley performance, singing “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye.”  When the group was given a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2018, they all got together for the ceremony and appeared on Ellen  together.

The group has also had a few occasions that they’ve had partial reunions. All of the members except Justin joined  Ariana Grande   on stage for her 2019 headline set at Coachella, where they sang her song “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” and their own “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” In April 2022, Joey, Lance, and Chris gave an impromptu performance at Ryan Cabrera   and  Alexa Bliss’  wedding.

When Was the Last Time NSYNC Toured?

While there have been a handful of performances since the group split up, the boy band’s final tour was in 2002 to promote their album Celebrity. The tour ended in April 2002, and the band began a hiatus, which they never returned from. The members’ final appearance as NSYNC was in 2005 at the “Challenge for the Children,” but they didn’t perform. They released a greatest hits album that same year.

While the band has not toured together in over 20 years, Justin has set out on numerous tours as a solo artist. His most recent time on the road was in 2019 for his  The Man of the Woods  tour.

*NSYNC Reunite at 2023 VMAs, Present Best Pop Award to Taylor Swift

Their first time sharing the stage together in a decade

*NSYNC Reunite at 2023 VMAs, Present Best Pop Award to Taylor Swift

All five members of *NSYNC — Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez, and Justin Timberlake — reunited onstage for the first time in a decade at the 2023 MTV VMAs on Tuesday night (September 12th).

The group was on hand to announce the winner for Best Pop, which went to Taylor Swift. For her part, Swift was overwhelmed by the prospect of sharing the stage with *NSYNC. “I had your dolls,” Swift proclaimed. “What’s going to happen now? They’re doing something and I need to know what it is. You’re pop personified!”

The last time we got a proper *NSYNC reunion was in 2013 for Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award medley. In 2019, all members but Timberlake joined Ariana Grande to perform “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” and “Tearin’ Up My Heart” during her headlining Coachella set. Earlier this week, fans began speculating that *NSYNC would link up at the 2023 VMAs when Timberlake, Fatone, and Bass were all spotted around New York City.

As for what’s next? Reports suggest *NSYNC have recorded new music for the upcoming Trolls Band Together soundtrack. Posters for the film were put up around New York, featuring the “N” of *NSYNC’s classic logo, along with a QR code that lets you listen to a trolls-esque tune .

'NSYNC PopOdyssey Tour Dates Change

nsync pop tour dates

‘NSYNC’s highly anticipated summer tour, PopOdyssey, is apparently such a spectacle, the group has been forced to delay opening night by six days to properly prepare.

The outing is now scheduled to kick off May 18 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, according to promoters. The previous opening night, May 12 at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, Florida, has been moved to August 2.

Other dates have been changed (May 15 in Tampa, Florida, to July 31; May 24 in Atlanta, Georgia, to August 11; June 6 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to June 8; June 12 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to June 13; June 29 in Detroit, Michigan, to June 30; August 10 in Louisville, Kentucky, to August 9), deleted (May 22 in Charlotte, North Carolina; July 31 in Las Cruces, New Mexico; August 18 in Memphis, Tennessee) and added (August 18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; August 22 in New Orleans, Louisiana).

Extra time was needed by the production staff to complete the tour’s staging, according to a press release. Promoters said the 88 trucks it will require to carry the production make PopOdyssey the largest tour in pop history.

“[‘NSYNC] wanted to make sure that all their fans got the full effect of this dynamic tour,” Brad Wavra of SFX, the tour’s promoters, said in the release. “We, along with the group, regret any inconvenience this schedule change may have caused for the fans. We promise this tour will be a musical extravaganza for the record books.”

Refunds will be given to fans who purchased tickets to canceled shows.

'NSYNC PopOdyssey Tour Dates Change

nsync pop tour dates

'NSYNC's highly anticipated summer tour, PopOdyssey, is apparently such a spectacle, the group has been forced to delay opening night by six days to properly prepare.

The outing is now scheduled to kick off May 18 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, according to promoters. The previous opening night, May 12 at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, Florida, has been moved to August 2.

Other dates have been changed (May 15 in Tampa, Florida, to July 31; May 24 in Atlanta, Georgia, to August 11; June 6 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to June 8; June 12 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to June 13; June 29 in Detroit, Michigan, to June 30; August 10 in Louisville, Kentucky, to August 9),

deleted (May 22 in Charlotte, North Carolina; July 31 in Las Cruces, New Mexico; August 18 in Memphis, Tennessee) and added (August 18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; August 22 in New Orleans, Louisiana).

Extra time was needed by the production staff to complete the tour's staging, according to a press release. Promoters said the 88 trucks it will require to carry the production make PopOdyssey the largest tour in pop history.

"['NSYNC] wanted to make sure that all their fans got the full effect of this dynamic tour," Brad Wavra of SFX, the tour's promoters, said in the release. "We, along with the group, regret any inconvenience this schedule change may have caused for the fans. We promise this tour will be a musical extravaganza for the record books."

Refunds will be given to fans who purchased tickets to canceled shows.

'NSYNC is scheduled to play 45 dates in 38 cities. Television-spawned pop group Eden's Crush will join the group on June 19 and open for the remainder of the tour (see [article id="1441973"]"'NSYNC Set Hearts On 'Popstars' For Tour"[/article]).

In other 'NSYNC news, marionettes of the group, like those featured in their "It's Gonna Be Me" video, are for sale beginning today at www.nsyncdirect.com.

Each $300 puppet is two feet high, weighs four pounds and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the band member depicted. Only 440 marionettes are available. A portion of the proceeds will go to 'NSYNC's charity, Challenge for the Children.

'NSYNC are in the studio recording tracks for their next album (see [article id="1442410"]"'NSYNC To Release Celebrity On June 26"[/article]). Jive Records hopes to release the first single by the end of April.
