Best beaches in the world for 2024.
What makes a great beach all depends on the traveler. Some prefer wide stretches of sand with ample activities and throngs of people to watch, while others desire deserted shorelines with calm waters. U.S. News took this and other factors – such as unique scenery, beach quality and overall accessibility – into consideration to determine the best beaches in the world. Want to put in your 2 cents? Cast your vote below to help determine next year's ranking.
Turks & Caicos
Whitsunday islands, isla holbox, railay beach, kaua'i, u.s. virgin islands.
Boasting 333 islands, resplendent resorts, sparkling waters and endless stretches of pristine sand, Fiji is the perfect spot for paradise-seeking beachgoers. Travelers who want to snorkel while on vacation should set their sights on Taveuni's diverse coral reefs. Meanwhile, those pining for the tropical beaches featured in the movie "Cast Away" and multiple seasons of the TV show "Survivor" can catch a ferry from Port Denarau and head directly to one of the 20 islands that make up the Mamanuca Islands. Popular options include Qalito Island (also known as Castaway Island) and Vomo Island.
The Turks & Caicos Islands, located southeast of the Bahamas, are renowned for their spellbinding white sand beaches , crystal-clear water and an abundance of snorkeling sites. The island of Providenciales draws sun-seekers in droves with the world-famous Grace Bay Beach, which boasts more than 3 miles of picture-perfect shoreline, and the crescent-shaped Taylor Bay Beach, home to shallow waters excellent for families with small children. If island-hopping is on your agenda, check out laid-back Governor's Beach on Grand Turk. After a long day spent lounging on the beach, travelers can retreat to their luxurious digs at one of the destination's top all-inclusive hotels .
With countless beaches to choose from on 700 islands , finding the perfect sandy spot in the Bahamas is as easy as it gets. From massive resorts like Atlantis Paradise Island to privately owned islands, the variety of beaches here run the gamut. Pink Sand Beach on Harbour Island will wow you with its rosy hue, while The Exumas will delight you with their wild swimming pigs . If you're after underwater caves and a stretch of sand featured in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films, look no further than Gold Rock Beach in Lucayan National Park on Grand Bahama Island.
This French Polynesian island is small, but mighty. Measuring only 6 miles long and less than 3 miles wide, Bora Bora is packed with stunning beaches, green jungles and ritzy resorts featuring overwater bungalows . Matira Beach (the main island's public beach) is ideal for sunbathing and strolling along sandy shores. For those willing to splurge, the resorts on Bora Bora's motus (surrounding islets) offer views of Mount Otemanu and calm water. Snorkeling, as well as stingray and shark-feeding excursions, are also available if you enjoy adventurous pursuits.
This Indian Ocean paradise is made up of approximately 1,200 islands – and each beach is more beautiful than the last. You'll likely stick to the island where your resort is located, but you can expect pearlescent sands, towering palm trees, incredibly blue waters and surreal sunsets wherever you choose to lay down your towel. Because the Maldives is an Islamic nation, most public beaches require visitors to cover up, so those staying in guesthouses should consider Rasdhoo and Maafushi islands, which have designated tourist beaches where bikinis are allowed. When you want to stray from the shore, swimming with whale sharks is a must-do excursion.
This scenic African island, which sits east of Madagascar, offers a multitude of beaches worth prioritizing. The island's west coast is where you'll find some of the best strips of shoreline, including Flic en Flac and Le Morne beaches, which feature beautiful white sand and superb vantage points for sunsets. Those who appreciate beaches near amenities will prefer north coast shores like La Cuvette, which is just removed enough from the tourist hub of Grand Baie, while those seeking a more exclusive beach experience can shell out for one of the east coast's luxury beach resorts.
Located off the northeastern coast of Australia, the Whitsunday Islands feel like an entirely different world. The archipelago sits adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef and offers an incredibly unique, albeit fragile, ecosystem. Some of the best beaches on this collection of 74 islands include Whitehaven Beach and Chalkies Beach, characterized by their snow-white silica sand, but there are plenty of stunning spots to choose from. When you're not sunbathing on pearl-white sand or snorkeling through turquoise water, unwind at one of the bungalows or luxury ecoresorts situated on Hamilton Island or Long Island.
If you're looking for a taste of Hawaii's beautiful beaches without the crowds on O'ahu, retreat to Maui. The island boasts impressive beaches both big and small, adult- and family-friendly, and in a variety of hues (such as the black sand shores at Wai'anapanapa State Park). South Maui is especially popular with families, as it is home to the resort-studded Wailea Beach and the contrasting undeveloped shores of Makena Beach State Park. Meanwhile, the North Shore attracts active travelers keen on taking advantage of the superb windsurfing conditions at locales like Ho'okipa Beach Park.
The largest of the French Polynesian islands is known for its verdant jungles, lavish hotels and postcard-worthy shores. The smaller section of Tahiti (known as Tahiti Iti) is more secluded than the larger Tahiti Nui, but both are worth seeing. Tahiti Iti's famous beach, La Plage de Maui, is highly regarded as one of the only white sand beaches in Tahiti, but the popularity comes with crowds. Check out Papenoo Beach on Tahiti Nui for excellent surfing conditions and more breathing room.
Trust us, you're going to want to go the extra miles for a vacation on Phuket's captivating beaches. That's because this island is home to some of Thailand's best beaches , such as the lively Patong, the more subdued Kata and the idyllic Nai Harn. These stunning shorelines lead to striking teal water, which you can explore on a traditional longtail boat. While you won't find many untouched, secluded shorelines in this tourist hot spot, Phuket's top beaches feature restaurants, beachside massage services and bars, not to mention a host of amenity-filled resorts ideal for a carefree beach vacation.
This 26-mile island off the northern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula has seen an influx of tourism and development in recent years. But Isla Holbox's car-free, slow-paced ambiance still distinguishes it from Mexico's bustling beach locales. Located within the Yum Balam nature reserve, Holbox has retained some unadorned shorelines, including Playa Mosquito. Set on a sandbank surrounded by shallow waters, this beach is ideal for morning walks to see horseshoe crabs and sting rays in the crystalline sea. Those who appreciate a cushier beach day will find everything they need at one of the beach clubs that line the main beach, Playa Holbox.
Bermuda, a British overseas territory, is home to a bevy of picturesque shorelines worth exploring. Popular pink sand beaches here include Horseshoe Bay Beach (known for its wide selection of nearby restaurants and shops) and Elbow Beach, (beloved for its relaxing atmosphere). For more seclusion, check out alternative stretches of sand like Astwood Cove Beach, which is worth the steep trek down to the sand, and Jobson's Cove Beach, a quiet oasis bordered by rocky cliffs that is perfect for leisurely swimming and snorkeling.
Railay Beach abuts the Andaman Sea from its location in Thailand's Krabi province. The region is composed of three main beaches and is home to pillowy sand, crystal-clear water, staggering yet scalable cliffs (for the experienced climber) and lush jungles. For a truly spectacular beach experience, head to Phra Nang Beach, where you'll find caves, islands and coral reefs to explore. Meanwhile, the narrow Railay East sits within walking distance of a variety of shops, restaurants and bars, while Railay West offers a wider swath of sand and breathtaking sunsets.
There are a lot of reasons to start planning a Seychelles getaway. From the turquoise ocean to the palm-fringed beaches, this cluster of 115 islands off Africa's eastern shore comes straight out of a postcard. Kick back on beautiful Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue, which features smooth granite rock formations and shallow waters, or lay down your towel at Beau Vallon Beach on Mahé, where you'll discover a wide sandy shoreline ideal for a variety of water sports, including snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, Jet Skiing and more.
Adventurous travelers flock here in droves for the many heart-pumping excursions this Hawaiian island has to offer (think: helicopter tours and thrilling zip line rides). However, Kaua'i's beaches should not be overlooked. Take a trip to Polihale State Park to check out the secluded shorelines that overlook the island's jaw-dropping Napali Coast cliffs. Or, relax on an easily accessible stretch of sand like Po'ipu Beach Park. Separated into two halves by a large sandbar, this beach is popular with families because kids can wade in the shallow area left of the sandbar, while more advanced swimmers can practice bodyboarding on the right.
A trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands will charm just about any type of traveler. Beach lovers who want to get away from the crowds should head straight to St. John, where the quieter sands of Honeymoon and Salomon beaches appeal to privacy-seeking couples. St. Thomas' photogenic Magens Bay is perfect for photo-ops (though cruise ship tourists might get in your shot), and St. Croix's Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge (closed April through August for turtle nesting season and only open on weekends the rest of the year) is ideal for vacationers looking for an undeveloped shore.
Anguilla's defining slew of flat, wide beaches are sure to cure Caribbean wanderlust. Visitors to this British overseas territory in the Lesser Antilles will have their pick of 33 silky expanses of sand, including Meads Bay, Shoal Bay and Rendezvous Bay. When you're not lounging on the sand or refueling at one of Anguilla's many beachfront restaurants, venture to its offshore reefs to snorkel. Though all beaches are free to the public, Anguilla is generally considered a luxury destination and its exclusivity keeps the crowds at bay, even during high season.
As the largest Greek island, Crete is home to nearly 100 miles of varied beaches, including pebbly cliffside coves, wide sandy strips and a lagoon overlooked by a Venetian fortress. Travelers will find pink-hued sands that pop against the vivid blue sea at Elafonisi Beach. At Vai Beach, vacationers can admire the surrounding palm trees and cliffs while they swim and sunbathe, and the shallow lagoon at Balos Beach is perfect for wading. Those in search of seclusion and clear waters can visit Damnoni Beach on the island's southern coast.

Paradise Beach
Island: grenada, write a review.
Voted the Best Caribbean Beach in 2022, this uncrowded naturally beautiful beach lives up to its name…..Paradise. The beach located in the village of L’Esterre on Grenada’s Sister Isle, Carriacou boasts, crystal clear calm waters and a stretch of gleaming white sand sprinkled with sea grape, coconut and almond trees. If you wish to experience local cuisine, there are restaurants and bars offering flavourful food. On weekends, it is also a great place to connect with locals as families come to socialize with food, drink and the occasional domino game and stringband music. The best thing about this beach is the amazing vista created by Sandy Island which can clearly be seen closeby. Changing facilities are available at the beach along with a souvenir shop filled with hand-made craft and memorabilia.

Paradise Beach – Travel Guide 2024
Joy intisuk.
- March 30, 2023
As the name suggests, the beach is no less than a real paradise on earth. The paradise beach is conveniently located close to Patong Beach and is barely 600 feet in length.
Despite the relatively small area, it enjoys the reputation of being the most peaceful beach in Phuket.
One of the most prominent reasons behind the peace and serenity of paradise Beach is the complete absence of Jet Ski.
Paradise Beach , an idyllic stretch of pristine sand and crystal-clear waters, offers the ultimate sun-soaked getaway for beach lovers seeking relaxation and tranquility in an enchanting coastal haven.
About the Paradise Beach
The entire beach is lined up with palm and almond trees that provide sufficient shade for the visitors to sit and relax.
You can find gigantic granite rocks spread across the beach area that look like carefully planted classic decor pieces.
There is a coral reef some 100 metres offshore that is teeming with marine fauna. It is the main attraction for professional divers and snorkellers.
The beach also has sun loungers and a volleyball court.
What to do on the Paradise Beach
There are various activities that you can participate in on Paradise Beach.
As for those who come for a laid-back vibe, they can sit back on the sun loungers and enjoy the picturesque view of the crystal blue water against the teeming sun.
Most of the activities on Paradise beach are facilitated by the Paradise Beach Club. The activities include snorkelling, kayaking, SUP boarding, and scuba diving.
If you are not into adventure sports, you can enjoy a gentle swing that overhangs from the tea branch.
Paradise Beach Club
The beach club is a well-developed party spot on Paradise beach which is also a key attraction of the beach. It has been voted as the 14th best Club in the world by the DJ Mag Annual poll.
The Paradise Beach Club features restaurants, shops, activities and fantastic Koh Phangan-style beach parties.
The club gives a premium and exclusive feel without being exorbitantly expensive.
You can avail yourself of a complimentary shuttle bus service with specified drop-off locations to and from Patong.
How to Reach the Paradise Beach
Paradise Beach is located 5 km southwest of Patong. From Patong Beach, you have to head south to Amari Phuket.
As you reach the fork, take and left and drive past Baan Yin Dee, Tri Trang beach Resort, and Merlin Beach Resort.
Keep following the road to Emerald Bay through the steep gradient. Continue straight on that road until the passage finally swoops down into the Paradise Beach car park.
When visiting Paradise Beach, do not forget to attend the Full Moon Festival , which is the biggest and the grandest beach party in Phuket. As the name suggests, the party is held every month on a full-moon night.
The entry ticket for entering the party is 1000 Baht. Cocktails are included in the ticket price.
Besides Paradise Beach, you can check out some more amazing beaches in Phuket that are famous worldwide.

Paradise Beach, Pondicherry Overview
Paradise Beach, also known as Plage Paradiso, is situated in Chunnambar, close to Pondicherry town. Adorned with the golden sand, this is a little-isolated beach. To reach here, you have to take a ferry across the backwaters, which takes around 20-30 minutes. There are a few shacks along the main entrance to the beach, and you can get fresh coconut water and some simple snacks - don't expect any fancy street food though.
Part of the fun in reaching the beach is the beautiful ferry from the boathouse - the backwaters on the way to the beach are green and have thick mangrove forests. Especially after the monsoons, the backwaters are fresh and green. You can spot a lot of birds while on the ride - and photography enthusiasts would relish the opportunity to get some great photos here. The currents in the water are high, so it is advisable to not go deep in the water. Paradise beach is a great spot to reach early morning and get a view of the sunrise on the eastern coast. A variety of water sports facilities are available here as well. The travellers can try fishing as well: fishing rods and nets are easily available for rent.

Atlantis is one of the most well-known beach resorts in the Caribbean. Whether you're looking to stay at one of the resort hotels or explore with a day pass , there are plenty of beautiful beaches and activities to do here.
Where is Atlantis in the Bahamas? Atlantis is located on Paradise Island, Bahamas. If you like to explore, Atlantis has 5 miles of beautiful beaches, restaurants with tempting menus, several pools, and private cabanas which allow you to relax in style.

Miles of Bahamas White Sand Beaches
The Bahamas offer some amazing white sand beaches to make you feel transported into paradise. The beaches at Atlantis Paradise Island are absolutely gorgeous - you'll definitely want to spend some time checking out all the options.
There are several beaches to choose from on Paradise Island, including Cove Beach and Paradise Beach. Here is the Atlantis resort map showing all of the beaches around the island.
Visit the Aquaventure Water Park
At 141-acres, Aquaventure Waterpark is home to an array of water slides , a river rapids ride, and lazy river ride. Choose a thrill ride like The Leap Of Faith or The Abyss that drops you 200 feet into a lagoon. Or tone it down at Spashers kids pool.
And there are 20 swimming areas at 11 different pools - from adult only to family-friendly - throughout the resort.
Get Out There and Swim with Dolphins
Atlantis' Dolphin Cay is one of the world's largest and most complex marine environments. Yes, it's touristy. But swimming with dolphins is one of those bucket-list activities that you'll never forget.
You can even become a trainer for a day and get a behind-the-scenes tour of the animal hospital. The Swim in Wonder and Dip' N Discover encounters are a must-do for dolphin fans.
Explore Downtown Nassau
While you're in the Bahamas, don't miss Nassau's downtown area. Here you'll find historic architecture, luxury shops and great restaurants. Many restaurants even have an outside section where you can sit and people-watch while enjoying your meal.
As you walk through town, there are also plenty of murals, art galleries that display local artwork along with shops that carry souvenirs and other trinkets.
Have a Stroll on The Queen's Staircase
Climb The Queen's Staircase on a walking tour of Downton Nassau. The 66 steps are located in the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex. The staircase built in the 1790s and later named for Queen Victoria have become a significant landmark. Be sure to explore the fort and its panoramic views while you're there.
Taste the Local Foods
A great way to understand any culture is through its food, so try some local dishes. Head to a locals' favorite place for lunch or dinner to get an authentic experience. You can find places like these through tourist offices or by asking your hotel concierge where they'd go for a home-cooked meal.
Or check out Island Food Tours to explore the culture of the island and try some of the Bahamian specialties.
Go Jet Skiing
Jet skiing is a great way to see, and get around, some of Paradise Island's stunning natural scenery. Jet ski rentals are available at different marinas, and tours range from short rides to all day.
You can also take a jet ski tour to Swimming Pigs Beach. Either way, it is sure to be fun for people of all ages!
Snorkel the Ruins of Atlantis
Explore the ruins in the protected environment of Ruin Lagoon. This snorkeling adventure takes you through the 2.7 million-gallon marine exhibit featuring the underwater ruin of the lost city of Atlantis. You'll see a variety of colorful fish, aquatic animals and other marine species. The lagoon is also home to spotted rays, jacks, snappers, and spiny lobster.
Try Scuba Diving at Paradise Island
If you're looking for a unique experience while visiting Paradise Island, a day of scuba diving might be your ticket. Several outfits offer boat and shore dives around The Bahamas, with dive sites including dive sites ranging from the Lost Blue Hole and the Tongue of the Ocean. You will not get these fantastic views anywhere else!
Fly Helicopters Over the Islands
For many visitors, flying over the Bahamian Islands is one of those bucket-list activities they have to check off while they're visiting. Guests can book private helicopter tours with Nassau Helicopters, hop on board a chopper for an adventure high above the water, and see the reefs up close.
Visit the Lagoons
The lagoon Islands are on the gorgeous beaches of the Bahamas. Most of them have crystal clear water and a swimming pool that's always inviting. And some offer an opportunity to get up close with sea life while you swim.
Recommended lagoons to visit:
- Water's Edge Lagoon
- Reef Lagoon
- Dolphin Cay
- Royal Ray Lagoon
- Hibiscus Lagoon
- Seagrapes Lagoon
- Predator Lagoon
- The Dig & Ruins Lagoon
Atlantis Golf Course
The Atlantis boasts a beautiful, challenging 18-hole championship Ocean Club Golf Course. It's a challenging course, but if you have a little experience under your belt, you can be sure of an exciting game.
You can also get in lessons with PGA certified instructors at their Golf Academy. Choose a 1-lesson or a 9-hole playing lesson to brush up on your game.
Gamble at Atlantis Casino Bahamas
The world-class casino at Atlantis will dazzle gamblers with more than 85 gaming tables and over 700 slot machines. The Las Vegas-style gambling experience is inviting and fun.
In addition to slot machines, they have table games such as blackjack, roulette, and craps. There are several small bars within the casino area, so if you want to indulge with your gambling session, you'll be able to enjoy that as well.
National Art Gallery of the Bahamas
This collection of artwork by Bahamian artists ranges from wood carvings to paintings and is an excellent introduction to local art. The museum features a visual history of The Bahamas with pieces dating back to the 19th Century.
As a bonus, NAGB admission is free for children. It's located across the street from the US Embassy in Nassau, making it a must see when you're exploring downtown.
Fishing Charters in the Bahamas
If you like fishing or just getting out on the water, one of your priorities should be booking a fishing charter when you're visiting the Bahamas. The islands are the ultimate fishing destination with deep sea fishing, reef fishing and flyfishing on the beautiful waters.
If you book a charter tour early on in your trip, you can even get out on a boat just before sunrise or just after sunset, when fish are more active.
Atlantis Movie Theatre
Grab a few friends and see a movie at Atlantis's on-site theatre, complimentary for resort guests. Seating is comfortable, and there are snacks available for purchase.
The theatre runs various blockbusters, indie films, and family-friendly features, so there's something for everyone. Before you head out, check to see if the theatre is currently open.
Atlantis Live Concert Series
The live concert series at Atlantis is a favorite spot for many visitors. They have a variety of musicians from all different genres, so you should be able to find something that appeals to your taste. The best seats are on their main stage or in their terrace bar area where you can watch everything from a distance.
Go for Workout Session at the Fitness Center
It's hard to beat a day at Atlantis' Aquaventure Waterpark, but if you need a break from swimming and slides, head over to its state-of-the-art fitness center. With yoga, cycling and boot camp classes, as well as trainers available for one-on-one consultations, there are plenty of ways to get your heart rate up. The 4-lane 25-meter lap pool is adjacent to the fitness center.
Visit Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops
Everyone loves ice cream, and with over 60 flavors you can enjoy a different treat every day of your vacation. You'll find Ben & Jerry's in Marina Village.
Wild or Lazy River Ride?
Set on a river, splash through several waves, and take a ride down steep waterfalls. Watch out for those rapids! This ride will take you from one end of the park to another. If the Wild River Ride is not for you, you can always choose the Lazy River Ride that will leisurely bring you through a tropical setting for a pleasant family-friendly float.
Marina Village Shopping Arcade
One of my favorite things to do when visiting Paradise Island is to visit Marina Village, where you can find shopping, dining, and some incredible views. There are a few different options for dining, as well as a souvenir shop or two. There are also a variety of other shops if you want to pick up something special while on vacation.
Visit the Versailles Gardens and French Cloister
Although it can be pretty costly, an afternoon spent soaking up French culture is well worth a small fortune. You will find restaurants with menus of food you can't pronounce, old buildings with a history dating back hundreds of years, and plenty of friendly people who enjoy talking about life overseas. The gardens stretch for about seven miles.
Have a Session with the Swimming Pigs
You can swim with these adorable animals! They're very friendly, apparently known for their love of getting belly rubs. While swimming pigs are cute, be aware that they make loud noises. You'll find the swimming pigs on Pig Beach in The Exumas.
Rent a Private Cabana
If you're going with a significant other or traveling with a large group of friends and family, renting a private cabana is an absolute must. Get access to your own secluded space, perfect for when you want some time alone and need somewhere comfortable to relax.
If getting away from it all is your goal, renting a private cabana during your stay is one of the best things to do in Atlantis.
Visit the Marine Exhibits
Swimming with dolphins and other marine life is an incredible experience that many people enjoy. Check out the marine exhibits for a chance to get up close and personal with some of these creatures.
If you prefer experiencing nature from a safe distance, you can also visit every Atlantis Bahamas aquarium to see sharks, sea turtles, moray eels, and an array of other colorful sea creatures. There is even an interactive touch tank aquarium in The Dig!
Watch the Stingray Feeding
Every day, a large selection of feedings occurs on Paradise Island. You can also see other kinds of fish feedings during your trip. If you plan on taking pictures, it's best not to use a flash so as not to scare away any fish or stingrays. You may even be able to get close enough that you can feel them as they glide past your body. Don't worry - they won't hurt you!
The Mandara Spa
If you've ever had a massage before, you know how incredible they are. Well, imagine receiving one from an expert massage therapist who has years of experience and is on top of her game. That's what you'll get when you visit Mandara Spa at Atlantis - pampering for days that will leave your skin feeling smooth as silk and your body relaxed beyond belief.
The spa also offers facials and other treatments if massages aren't your thing, but it's hard to imagine anyone not falling head over heels with these super relaxing services.
Discover the Bahamas on a Yacht
If you want to visit one of a dozen or so private islands in The Bahamas, you need a yacht. The very best way to see any island is from your boat, as it means you can dock where and when you want. You can also go swimming or snorkeling straight off your yacht if that's something you fancy doing.
Alternatively, take a day trip from Nassau or Paradise Island and enjoy The Bahamas at its finest—from sea level!
Shop at the Crystal Court Shops
The Crystal Court Shops is by far one of the favorites at Atlantis. To ensure guests get their fair share of retail therapy, shops within The Crystal Court range from fine jewelry and souvenirs to beachwear and toiletries. It's a great mix—and you can easily spend an entire day hitting up every last shop. Now that's retail therapy!
Stay at These Amazing Places
You'll find beautiful Hotels to stay at in Atlantis. Each of these hotels offers something different and should be looked into depending on your personal preferences. Some of the best places to reside during your stay here include:
Enjoy World Class Dining
Atlantis is home to several restaurants including fine dining, casual dining, and quick bites that are located all over the property.
World-class restaurants include Fish by Chef Jose Andres, Nobu by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and Olives by Chef Todd English among others.
Book Your Perfect Getaway in Atlantis Bahamas
Is Atlantis all-inclusive? While it's not all-inclusive, it is a full-service resort making it a great choice if you are looking to explore the Bahamas and have easy access to fabulous restaurants and all the other activities.
The weather is beautiful year-round, with temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees F. But for a winter getaway or spring break, mid-December to mid-April is the best time to go to Atlantis Bahamas.
You'll find the latest updates on travel to the Atlantis Bahamas and what requirements you need to meet here .
If you're looking for a vacation destination where you can relax, enjoy yourself, and make memories that will last a lifetime, book your flight to the Nassau (NAS) Airport for Paradise Island and savor every moment you spend at Atlantis.

My wife & I just returned from spending 5 nights at your Coral Tower; we never felt more safe and secure, in light of the pandemic, as we felt during our stay. The mandatory mask wearing throughout the entire resort & grounds, including at Marina Village, was most welcome, and with your staff stationed throughout the complex, making sure one was wearing a mask, made us feel very safe. Although we were disappointed to see your restaurants only open on certain days, we worked around that and had some great meals. Our stay, although brief, was the perfect getaway; we shall return!

12 Best Tourist Spots in Bantayan Island
1. virgin island.
First up on our roundup is Virgin Island, an uninhabited paradise just off the coast of Bantayan Island. Known for its picturesque white sand beaches and crystal clear water, it’s also one of the best beaches you can visit in Bantayan.
If you’re wanting to do more than just beach bum around on the sand, Virgin Island has a number of activities to keep you busy. Take a stroll around the island, have a fresh seafood lunch, explore the underwater world or get your adrenaline pumping with cliff diving!
To reach Virgin Island, you’ll need to arrange a boat to take you there from Santa Fe. This can either be done through your accommodation or by heading to the public port. The more people you have the better, as you can split the fare between your group
2. Kota Beach
Kota Beach is arguably the most popular beach on Bantayan Island, and for good reason. This stunning stretch of coastline is defined by its shapeshifting sandbar and turquoise blue water.
Kota Beach Resort sits right along the beachfront, but the beach itself is public and everyone is welcome to enjoy its beauty. At the entrance to the beach you’ll find SUP Bantayan, where you can rent standup paddleboards by the hour.
3. Paradise Beach
Paradise Beach is not only one of the best tourist spots in Bantayan Island, but it’s also our favourite beach! This somewhat hidden gem is tucked away from prying eyes behind a limestone cliff wall, accessible only by a small staircase leading to the sand.
When we visited there were just a few locals enjoying the calm waters and spearfishing in the deep, but aside from them we had the place to ourselves. At the far end of Paradise Beach sits a row of beach umbrellas where you can find respite from the blazing sun.
4. The Ruins
The Ruins of Bantayan Island are not what you’d typically expect of a tourist destination – they’re not ancient nor are they historically significant, but they are very photogenic.
This old, derelict house was once owned by a German expat, but it was destroyed by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. The concrete remains have since been covered in graffiti, drawing crowds from all over to check out its colourful facade.
Aside from the ruins, it’s also a popular cliff jumping spot with the locals and the occasional adrenaline seeking tourist. Just be sure to jump at high tide, as it’s not really the deepest spot!
5. Obo-Ob Mangrove Eco Park
Something different from the many beaches of the island is the Obo-ob Mangrove Eco Park, one of the must-visit tourist spots in Bantayan Island. Also known as the Omagieca Mangrove Garden, is famously the location where much of Filipino romcom, Camp Sawi, was filmed.
Here you can wander through the lush mangroves, along a bamboo boardwalk leading to the sea. Another way to explore the mangroves is via kayak, which can be rented on site. If you find yourself hungry, there’s a community run restaurant by the entrance for you to quell your hunger.
6. Balidbid Lagoon
Balidbid Lagoon is a must-visit Bantayan Island tourist spot, not far from the main town of Santa Fe. Since it’s a little off the beaten path, Balidbid Lagoon is a secluded and peaceful place, with small sandy beaches and a winding waterway leading to the sea.
You can simply relax and enjoy the banks of Balidbid Lagoon, or you can do what we did and rent a paddleboard from the guys at SUP Bantayan. We met them at the lagoon and set off on a guided tour into the mangroves. There wasn’t another soul in sight, and we were surrounded by the stunning sights and sounds of nature.
7. Ogtong Cave
Ogtong Cave is an awesome natural, water-filled cave located within the Ogtong Cave Resort. If you happen to be staying at the resort, or Santa Fe Beach Club (they’re owned by the same company) you’ll have complimentary access to the cave. If, however, you’re staying elsewhere, you can visit the cave for a day-use fee of 100 PHP.
The cave has been developed for ease of access, so it’s not the most natural of tourist spots in Bantayan Island, but it’s still worth the visit. The water is insanely blue and clear, the water level depending on the tides. We took a refreshing dip at Ogtong Cave, marvelling at the water clarity.
8. MJ Square
Your visit to Bantayan Island wouldn’t be complete without spending an evening eating out at MJ Square. This popular food market is one of the must-visit tourist spots in Bantayan Island if you want to experience the island’s famous fresh seafood! Think scallops, squid, fish and crabs, bought by the kilo and cooked to order. There are also a number of souvenir shops selling trinkets and keepsakes, as well as dessert stalls.
Click here to view MJ Square on Google Maps
9. Sts Peter & Paul Church
If you’re wanting to switch up your trip from beaches and mangroves, St Peter & Paul Church is a beautiful addition to your itinerary. The church is located in the town of Bantayan, in Bantayan Island. The current structure that stands today was completed in 1863, however the parish was originally founded in 1580 during the Spanish occupation. Everyone is welcome to visit the church, and there is even an old museum with artefacts dating back to the church’s conception in the 1500s.
Click here to view Sts Peter & Paul Church on Google Maps
10. Coconut Road
For a real taste of island life (and an Insta-worthy photo to boot) you definitely need to visit the (unofficial) Coconut Road. Located on Obo-ob Marikaban Road just after the Marikaban Barangay Hall, this dirt road is lined with lush coconut trees, making it the ultimate tropical photoshoot location. Ride your bicycle here – or in Zowie’s case ask a friendly local if you can take his bike for a spin – and snap some photos on this provincial path.
Click here to view Coconut Road on Google Maps
11. Kiteboarding
If you want to get your adrenaline pumping and try out one of the most exhilarating sports there is, kiteboarding on Bantayan Island is a must-do! KiteBantayan is a kiteboarding school operating from Amihan Beach Cabanas in Santa Fe. Whether you’re a total rookie or you’ve tried kiteboarding before, there are lessons available for every experience level.
Click here for KiteBantayan lesson prices
12. Yacht Tour
Another epic activity you can do from Amihan Beach Cabanas is sail around the coast on your own private yacht. We set sail just before sunset so we could enjoy the beautiful golden hour lighting from sea. We sailed for a few hours, stopping to take the kayak and paddleboard out on the open water. We also enjoyed plenty of snacks, drinks and R&R time on the sun beds. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the best activities you can do on Bantayan Island.
