Begin to depart from the US to the beautiful island of Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon arrival, get the first experience of the Aloha spirit with a traditional fresh flower lei greeting. After identification of luggage, you will begin to board a bus for transfer to your hotel. Once there, you will meet for the Aloha Orientation Dinner and Briefing. Then after you have checked in, you will get to enjoy a historical walking tour of Waikiki.
After breakfast, enjoy a hike that is about 3/4 of a mile to the 760-foot summit of the most recognized mountain in the world, the Diamond Head Crater! Bring your camera for a fantastic 360-degree view of the southeast coast! Down below, you'll see the lighthouse, coral reefs, sailboats, and even surfers on the waves at Diamond Head Beach! Afterwards you will be able to return to the hotel at approximately 11:00am and then have the rest of your afternoon at your leisure for either beach time or any other optional activities that you would like to be arranged.
Begin your morning with a drive to the North Shore of Oahu where surfing daredevils gather from around the world to compete in riding the monster waves that are often taller than most buildings. Sunset Beach is the local favorite and is legendary for its 20 foot waves. The North Shore is also the home of the famous Banzai Pipeline. “Banzai” is used as a toast or a battle cry meaning “go for it”. In the 1950’s a surfer yelled, “Banzai” as he rode a massive wave and the word lives on. When the ocean hits the shallow coral shelf offshore, a wave forms that is so steep that it rolls and makes a nearly perfect tube or pipeline. It is the holy grail of surf challenges. Enjoy some time to stroll or shop through this historical town and enjoy a sweet and refreshing local favorite, shaved ice. You will then begin to depart for Waimea Bay Beach (swimming subject to surf conditions) at around 5:00pm and begin to board buses and return back to Waikiki. Once back to your hotel you will be able to enjoy dinner on your own for the evening.
Come aboard the Kepoikai Catamaran for a beautiful 60-minute sail from Waikiki Beach to the base of Diamond Head and back. Be ready to get splashed! (Dry area on board available). Return to the hotel for some relaxation and then meet to transfer to a local restaurant for dinner!
Depart your hotel for a transfer to Pearl Harbor to see where history was made. *Due to increased security measures, all purses, handbags, backpacks, fanny packs, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage and/or any other type of bag that can conceal an object are not permitted inside Pearl Harbor, the Visitor's Center, or to any of the attractions.* You will head over to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial Visitor Center and experience the film “Pearl Harbor Story”, the visitor center museum, and board a Navy launch and enter the memorial. You will witness the actual sunken hull where over 1000 servicemen were entombed during the December 7, 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel later on and meet for a group dinner at the hotel.
Prepare to board your bus to take the Honolulu City Tour. You’ll drive past the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace on American soil, as well as seeing the King Kamehameha Statue, Hawaii State Capitol, and go through China Town. On your way back to Waikiki, you will make a visit to the Nuuanu Pali. This is the site of the Battle of Nuuanu, one of the bloodiest battles in Hawaiian history, in which Kamehameha I conquered the island of Oahu, bringing it under his rule. The Nuuanu Pali State Wayside is a lookout above the tunnels where visitors are treated to a panoramic view of Oahu’s windward side of the island. It is also well known for strong trade winds that blow through the pass forming a sort of natural wind tunnel. If time permits you will get to make a visit to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet or “Flea Market”. This giant event wraps around the Aloha Stadium, home of the University of Hawaii Warriors. It’s the perfect place to buy all of your souvenirs for your family and friends back home.
Upon awakening, prepare to meet in the lobby for your transfer to your Authentic Hawaiian Cultural Experience. Rated Top 3 in Trip Advisor, this hands-on, interactive experience will engage all your senses. See, touch, taste, hear, and feel a special part of Hawaii’s history. Participate in Makahiki games and arts and crafts. Enjoy a delicious farm to table dinner while enjoying the million dollar views. Truly become part of the Ohana during this evening to remember. Afterwards you will be able to return to your hotel approximately 9:00pm.
Enjoy your last breakfast in paradise and then begin to check out of the hotel and be transferred to the Honolulu airport (HNL) for your return flights back home.

Have priced out my own trip, compared to perillo tours, I could not find better deals, can anyone share there experiences with this company. The good ,the bad both
Is there a reason you want a packaged "guided" tour? Hawaii is best enjoyed "doing your own thing" to most people. You can get air/ car /hotel packages from the sites mentioned as well as Travelocity, Expedia, or a travel agent. Then you can pick and choose your own activities, meals, and tours.
I think you'll find you can do much better booking things yourself.
Most people think you are better off seeing the island(s) on your own.
With 7 days stick with one island.
10 days - two islands.
I looked at their prices.
$2999/person plus airfare for 10 days (9 nights/3 islands)
They are good hotels on their tours.
But, you can find good lodging on any of the islands for $150 & up. Even less if you try sites like vrbo or stay at a lesser hotel.
Many of the units on vrbo include free parking.
Try package deals with an airline or sites like Expedia. You can get packages for one or two islands including hotel, airfare with car or without car .

1-800-GOHAWAII
This package reminded me of packages in Mexico years ago, or the Caribbean maybe.........or Europe. Hawaii is so much easier and more fun to explore rather be herded from bus to shop to hotel to shop to dinner to shop to Luau to next island to hotel to shop to luau again to shop maybe to boat for extra charge to dinner to shop.............. I'm exhausted just typing it, LOL!
Back up the bus ....
What do you want to do? What kinds of things do you like to do?
Please tell us more about yourself and your situation.
What does your nightly accomodations budget look like?
I haven't heard of Perillo Tours in YEARS - and you certainly don't need a guided tour. And you don't want to hop from island to island -- and the flights and such will chew up your time. If you have 9 or so nights, you can see two islands comfortably. You will need a car on all of the major islands, with the possible exception of Oahu.
Personally, I think that cruising is a horrible way to see Hawaii unless you have English language issues or need special assistance. You are tied to the cruise ships schedule, and that would make me crazy in a great place like Hawaii.
Cruises are great for some folks and not for others. If you want to get a brief feel for each island, the 7 day NCL one can be perfect for you. But be warned you do need to view the cruise as a floating hotel........not typical of most cruises . It's far better than it used to be but not a luxe experience.
I think you're overwhelmed right now because it seems there's too much to see and do-and you're thinking that a package will take care of that. But you need to remember that Hawaii really is part of the U.S. and not a foreign outpost! Grab a good guide or two-Hawaii for Dummies, Fodor's, Frommer's, maybe the Lonely Planet ones-and read, read, read. You'll be able to narrow down your wishes after you learn more about each island's "personality". Then you will be able to make decisions that match your desires-instead of someone herding you from chosen place to chosen place on THEIR terms.
Remember that flights in between the islands are around 30 minutes in the air. Yes, you have to be at the airports an hour-90 minutes in advance, but it's not that big a hassle! Rental cars and hotels or condos are easily booked on multiple islands too. Slow down.........part of the joy of Hawaii is not rushing.
BLBL is right. Tell us what YOU want to see and do in Hawaii. Read up as SWMarket says, then let us help you put together your trip. Who's coming? Ages? Interests? Any limitations? (You'll need a rental car everywhere except right in Honolulu .)
As for the cruises , I wouldn't spend days at sea getting TO Hawaii. If you want to glimpse four islands in 7 days, yes, the NCL cruise makes it easy to do that. It can be pretty economical if you don't book upgraded cabin space and don't take every ship's tour. Plan to stay on In Hawaii another week if you can.
The first thing to do is decide how many days you have. The more, the better! Then get Hawaii for Dummies (really is a great book despite the title) Take the quiz about which island might be for you, then decide. I would recommend no less than 7 days on each island. If you have 10-11 days, it is possible to do 2 islands.
I would say skip Perillo tours, too confining.

Tour Destinations
Perillo is best known as an Italy specialist, with tours that range from nine to 15 days all across Italy. The company also offers a limited number of itineraries to Greece and Spain. And for 30 years, Perillo has also been hosting guided tours to Hawaii.
Perillo’s group Italy tours focus on either a geographical region or a theme. So for instance, you could opt for a tour that focuses exclusively on Rome and the Amalfi Coast, or Sicily and Italy’s South; or you could choose a themed tour like Renaissance and let the topic take you to cities (like Florence) that were important during the period. Some tours are more food-focused (for instance, Green Heart of Italy) but all Perillo tours are focused on good food experiences.
COMFORT AND STYLE: How to Choose the Best Walking Shoes for Travel
Perillo’s Greece tour itineraries are more limited in number, but most offer a mix of land and sea excursions. The company currently offers just one Spain tour, a 13-day trip that covers much of the country. Perillo’s Hawaii tours focus on multi-island excursions that give travelers an easy way to experience the different islands of Hawaii on one itinerary. Hawaii tours range from about nine to 13 days.
Tour Guides
Perillo uses both tour directors and local guides, and both must pass a rigorous series of written and oral exams before becoming Perillo tour guides. According to Perillo: “This is a very difficult process, with approximately only one in 10 applicants passing the examinations.” And All Perillo guides are trained in the “Perillo style of ‘over-the-top’ guest service.”
Excursions/Extras
Perillo tour prices include hotels, sightseeing with expert guides, transfers, baggage handling, daily breakfast, select scheduled meals, tips, taxes, and complimentary WiFi on all Perillo coach buses. While Perillo does offer competitive airfare, it’s not included in the base price of the tour.
READY FOR ADVENTURES: Best Tour Companies for Older Travelers
There are often additional optional activities offered at (a fair and modest) extra cost during tour free time. Examples of such extras include a gondola serenade in Venice, the Illuminated Rome at Night experience, a Lake Como boat cruise, and a visit to Villa D’Este in Tivoli.
Typical Travelers
The majority of Perillo Tours’ guests fall in the 59-77 age range, and most are from the United States. Perillo Tours are popular with couples, but about 13% of tour travelers are solo travelers.
SOLO BUT NOT ALONE: 10 Best Tour Companies for Solo Travelers

Perillo offers a discount, a special gift, and best available rooms for repeat travelers.
Private Options
Perillo Tours, offers private escorted tours for groups with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 people. These tours are popular with multigenerational and extended families, and groups of close friends. Came back from an 8 day trip in Italy- Rome, Florence and Venice. All booked thru Perillo Tours. Thank you, Laura @Perillo Tours for booking it all for us. Getting a family of 4 thru it all and like clockwork thru these cities in 8 days, is no easy job. Planes. Automobiles, and trains literally all booked for us. Got us on a 8am flight out of Venice. A taxi was waiting for us @ 515 am at our Venice hotel. Lara, our tour guide in Venice was amazing. She even made it interesting for my preteen (again not easy) and had my 10 year old entertained during a 3 hour "Best of Venice" private walking tour. I am so thankful for the best memories for my family in 3 cities in 8 days. If you are looking for an amazing trip, Perillo Tours are your people. Just do it and don't think twice!!! grazie mille
We booked our trip with perillo. They have been nothing short of amazing. Every time we speak with a rep there they are helpful and knowledgeable. Recently we dealt with Janice Charowsky and she was amazing. You should have ten like her. Helpful, knowledgeable and and absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you Perillo for making the dream trip of a lifetime come true.
Perillo is first class from top to bottom. class act with knowledgeable tour guides and local guides. Our tour guide is a historian- so informative. loved the hotels especially in Venice and Sorrento
Very professional tour company. We had 14 days tour to Italy with them. It was put together with personal guides. We left 2 days early with a side to Vicenza , where I was stationed. Plus they put a another side tour to my wife's uncle grave site. Definitely recommend this Company with highest kudos.
Since Perillo tours is so upset that I'm leaving negative reviews because I never traveled with them let me clarify. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN!!! Let me reiterate...the FIRST time we heard that there was a problem with this tour was 6/16. If they knew there was a possibility this tour would be cancelled we should have at least been alerted when they became aware. "Janice" said this much when we spoke to her she apologized "for dropping the ball". If Devin is correct about the "private tour" then perhaps he need to tell Janice because she stated we would be on our own most of the time. i will continue to tell everyone about the horrible experience with Perillo snd recommend they tour with another more reliable company.
Here's the voicemail we received. Notice they didn't even get the name correct.

Hello. We have gone over this many time with this client and she continues to leave negative reviews without even having traveled with us. We feel very badly that the tour departure was cancelled but it was beyond our control. A few weeks ago, we had enough participants to operator and unfortunately we had some cancellations. Our brochure specifically states: "From time to time a tour departure may be cancelled due to lack of participation or other operational reasons. In such case, Perillo Tours sole responsibility is to provide a complete refund of money received without any other liability whatsoever." What this client states is false - the North Continental tour that she was booked on includes NO DINNERS. It is dine on your own so why would we include dinners on a custom trip? We offered them a custom vacation package with private guides and drivers, NOT TAXIS. They would have visited all the same cities and visited all the same sites with private guides and drivers - and we were willing to do this all at the same cost. Clients refused and asked for a refund. This refund was processed this morning and now it will take the credit card company a few days to process.
We were booked for the Northern Continental tour of Italy with a departure date of 8/14. We booked it almost a year ago and it's paid in full including airfare to the tune of over $11,000. We just found out TODAY(6/16)it is cancelled and there is no effort on their part to make this right. I thought this was supposed to be the premier touring company but how is it possible that they only knew this 2 months before the tour date? This has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I won't be looking to tour with them in the future and I'll be telling everyone I know to check out other touring companies as well since they are evidently unreliable. Their customer service is sorely lacking. It took 2 days and multiple phone calls to finally speak to someone that was "authorized" to address this issue. They did offer 2 solutions. The first was to keep our tour dates but to offer a "private tour" which consisted of nothing more than a taxi service that would drive us to each tour site but we would be on our own. No tour guide, no dinner, none of the amenities that we signed up for originally. The second option was a trip to Hawaii. Neither of these offers comes anywhere close to making up for their poor handling of our 30th anniversary trip of a lifetime. Now we wait to see how long it takes this company to refund the money they have been holding on to interest free. Of course now they're upset that I have left negative reviews because I "didn't even go on a tour" but others should be aware that when you book a trip with them and pay your money there is no guarantee that they will hold up their end of the contract.
It was a trip my family will never forget. My tour guide Anna and bus driver Mauro did a fantastic job.. I would highly recommend your company.. Vincent E
Just finished booking our first tour with Perillo Tours. We read reviews and felt comfortable moving forward with the company. Went online to make our deposit for our September 2024 tour and somehow our credit card was charged for the entire amount. The same thing happened to my sister and our friend. The rep I spoke with said that I must have put in the wrong amount. My sister was told the same thing by the rep she spoke with. Refunds are being processed but this first interaction doesn't give me great confidence in the company. We will be moving forward with the tour and I hope that this first interaction with the company is not characteristic of our future interactions.
It was been a week since we got back to US from our Marco Polo Tour. It was the trip of a lifetime. The entire country of Italy is a museum. The food, wine and people are wonderful. The hotels were all beautiful and in great locations. Our tour guide Daniela worked tirelessly to make sure that all of our needs were taken care of. She was professional, knowlegeable and did everything with a smile. She is truly an asset to your company. Our bus drive Murko was very professional and careful with the roads and keeping us safe! Cannot wait to return!
This was the trip of a lifetime. Perillo Tours does everything right! Everything is so well organized, hotels were in great locations and the tour guides were amazing. Anyone unsure of traveling in a group, don't be! I feel that it definitely added to the adventure! I can't wait to do this again!
I had a wonderful time on our trip in June. We had an amazing tour guide Sandra who do an amazing job. Our bus driver was wonderful as well. The only thing we were disappointed with the food choice and places Perilllo chose. Food was not good. When we went in our own to eat the food was much better.
