The Rolling Stones Announce ‘Hackney Diamonds’ North American Stadium Tour

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

The Rolling Stones are hitting stadiums across North America in 2024 to celebrate the release of their new album, Hackney Diamonds . The 16-city tour (which includes a headlining slot at Jazz Fest in New Orleans) kicks off April 28 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, and wraps up July 17 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Ticket sales begin December 1 at 10:00 am.

Hackney Diamonds is the first Rolling Stones album of new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang . Produced by Andrew Watt and featuring guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Lady Gaga, the album was met with near-universal acclaim. “A collection of bangers (old-school division) that nobody in their right mind had a right to expect in 2023,” Rolling Stone ’s David Browne wrote, “Hackney Diamonds isn’t just another new Stones album, but a vibrant and cohesive record — the first Stones album in ages you’ll want to crank more than once before filing away.”

What polling can (and can't) tell you

On Nov. 5, election officials across America will count more than 150 million ballots to answer a burning political question: Who will be president of the United States? Until then, the best signals we can get will mostly come from public opinion polls, which will be the fuel of endless debate on who has the lead, Democrat Joe Biden or Republican Donald Trump. But what do polls really tell us? Lik

No group embodies classic rock like The Rolling Stones. Over its six-decade career, the legendary band has defined rock ‘n’ roll with fun, energetic music rooted in the blues. Though new music genres come and go, The Rolling Stones’ simple, punchy rock sound has appealed to every new generation.

However, the band didn’t become a phenom overnight. The Rolling Stones started to build its music career before its official debut in 1962. It all began with rhythm guitarist/vocalist and frontman Mick Jagger and lead guitarist Keith Richards. The pair met when they were young while attending primary school together. Eventually, they drifted apart and encountered each other again by chance 10 years later. Thanks to their mutual friend Dick Taylor, Jagger and Richards discovered their collective love of music.

Soon enough, the three joined several bands, shaping their creative talents and honing their instrumental skills. After sparking interest among many local fans and new listeners, the group gained new members like rhythm guitarist Brian Jones, keyboardist Ian Stewart, and drummer Charlie Watts.

When 1962 arrived, Bill Wyman took Dick Taylor’s spot as bassist. The group’s success grew throughout the UK, especially with the help of tracks like “I Wanna Be Your Man” written by The Beatles. Paul McCartney and John Lennon exclusively penned the popular song and let The Rolling Stones elevate its rising reputation. Before releasing its self-titled debut album in 1964, The Rolling Stones landed chart spots in both the UK and U.S. The band was well on its way to becoming a household name.

As The Rolling Stones’ discography grew, so did the band’s popularity. Records like The Rolling Stones No. 2, 12 x 5, and The Rolling Stones, Now! laid a sturdy foundation for a future in music. However, the international smash “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” proved the band was here to stay. It sat comfortably on charts across the globe, including the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Ultimately, it cleared the way for The Rolling Stones’ next studio album, Out of Our Heads.

The Rolling Stones followed up every big hit with even more renewed vigor. It dominated the 60s thanks to numerous studio albums and certified chart-topping singles like “Paint It Black,” Ruby Tuesday,” and “Mother’s Little Helper.” Then, it took over the 70s and 80s with a signature image and sound. The Rolling Stones stayed relevant and influential in the ever-changing music climate. As the band evolved, bandmates rotated in and out, resulting in the induction of newer members such as bassist and guitarist Ronnie Wood.

As rock music changed, The Rolling Stones never lost its spark. Adaptation and evolution were crucial in helping the group keep up with the times. Over the years, it constantly reinvented itself without straying from its original roots: fast-paced, energetic rock ‘n’ roll. The Rolling Stones continued to take over every era, including the current music scene. Its most recent LP Tattoo You hit the stands in 2021 and reminded the world the group was still going strong.

Although it faced many challenges, the band has remained true to loyal listeners and provided stellar shows across the globe. Numerous sold-out tours, live TV performances, and more allow fans to witness Jagger’s eccentric yet boisterous on-stage persona. Backed up by his friends and talented bandmates, the group provides a polished experience for every dedicated concertgoer. The Rolling Stones still tours today, with no signs of stopping.

Live reviews

Sixteen hours after I left my house, and 50 years after forming as a band, The Rolling Stones took the gigantic stage at 9:30pm. The empty seats filled in quickly once Sheeran had taken his leave. At 50,000 strong, it was quite a site to see the crowd on their feet as the Stones kicked off their 3rd performance at Arrowhead Stadium (their first was ’75, their latest was in ’89) with “Start Me Up” from Tattoo You. The song is over 30 years old, but was nothing more than a baby when compared to most of the set list. “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll” and “Tumbling Dice” set the precedent for a show that would include mostly material from before I was born. “Doom And Gloom” was the exception to the rule, but served to prove that even a mediocre song can be more than magnificent in the right hands. If I’m being honest, the main reason I was seeing The Rolling Stones was to check them off my list of legends. I had heard stories, but I couldn’t wrap my head around that fact that a bunch of 70-year-olds could still put on an epic show. Sure, the giant screens and incredible soundsystem and fireworks were to be expected, I even figured they would sound pretty good, but nothing prepared me for how animated they would be. Mick Jagger was a diva less than half his age as he strutted his shit up and down the catwalk. Wardrobe changes, grabbing phones from the crowd to take selfies, reminiscing about things that happened back in ’74…he was on point the entire night. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2015/07/01/the-rolling-stones-arrowhead-stadium-06-27-15/#sthash.hANemdD3.dpuf

"I know it's only Rock and Roll but I like it". The Rolling Stones "live in concert" is an experience not to be missed. From the moment, Mick, Keith and the rest of Stones hit the stage until the final note of the encore - any room - no matter what size - will be filled with an energy level that is unparalleled!

No two concerts are ever the same when it comes to the "Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the world". If you have not yet seen the Rolling Stones I encourage you to do so. I loved seeing the Rolling Stones when growing up in Toronto - at every possible venue in the Stones "home away from home".

Each tour would feature band rehearsals at places like the Toronto airport hanger or at a local Bayview North Toronto school. Many a Stones tour would kick off in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens, CNE Stadium, Skydome and Air Canada Centre among others. Heck, when Keith Richards was busted in Toronto - he was sentenced to perform a charity concert for the CNIB in Oshawa.

I have most of the Rolling Stones catalogue of music and DVDs and have thoroughly enjoyed the groups who have played in an opening capacity with the Stones. They helped introduce us to Ike and Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and the White Stripes among others! You will never go wrong buying a Stones concert ticket. Make sure you do before it is too late.

Hi there. The Rolling Stones in Prague the best show ever. The concert was absolutely amazing, fantastic, super great. The performance of the Rolling stones is in the highest quality, they are the living legend,I love them for ever and wish to all of them the best off everything. Thank you for unforgettable experience. So this was about the show, but I would like to tell you my worst nightmare I also had just before the concert. I bought three tickets from Viagogo office and to my horror I find out that the tickets were not valid and they were not in database. I paid 23.000KC.So to get to the event I've had to buy another three tickets for standing. THERE WAS MORE fans off the Rolling stones with some experience. I don't what to do about the matter. So this was MY best experience and the worst. Yours Luda Horakova Krasicka 53 Prostejov Czech republic .

It doesn't matter where you sit at a Stones show, it's going to be memorable. This was my first time seeing them, much of my family have seen them multiple times. Heinz Field is an ok venue. Being so far back, the sound was just a smidge off but the atmosphere was still awesome. It rained heavily most of the day but by some great fortune, the clouds parted and the weather was perfect right before showtime. The blazed through hit after hit, with fireworks and lights and spectacle. The best thing, however, is how much Mick Jagger moves and his dancing and prancing. The dude is 72 and still has all the energy and charisma he had back in the day. It's insane. I defy anyone who can find a better showman and frontman than Mick Jagger. Keith, Ronnie, Charlie and the backing band were all incendiary. 10/10 would see them again.

It was a wonderful concert! My group and I had so much fun! Although we were not so close to the stage, thanks to the 3 gigantic screens it was possible to enjoy the concert fully. Mick Jagger has so much energy!!! They not only played most of their best songs, but invited Juanes ( one of the most famous Colombian singers to play guitarr and sing one song together with Mick. The public went crazy! At the end also invited the Javeriana Chorus (also Colombian) to sing with the group. Great!

They started the concert with Jumping Jack Flash and then played as second a song picked by the colombian public in the internet. I found that very good.

My group and I flew from Venezuela to Bogotá for the concert

The Rolling Stones rock!!!!!

LOVED IT!!!!

I've seen several live performance by the Stones on TV and while I have been amazed by their energy levels considering their ages, I also have thought at times that their performances were lacking a bit. Boy, was I wrong after seeing them live at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City! Mick Jagger melted my face off with his energy, cockiness (man, does he strut!) and powerful vocals. They were on-point for the entire show, and I thought it was cool that they brought opener Ed Sheeran onstage as well. As a 30-something male, The Rolling Stones have always been on my bucket list, and I'm glad I had a chance to see them in person. I would definitely recommend their show and would go see them again. Hopefully they keep on rocking another 10-15 years!

The doors opened at 4:45pm ( late by 45 mins). Support act ( Richard Ashcroft) didn’t come on till 7pm and played for 45 minutes and they were really good. Stones came on at 8:15pm and played till 10:30. Utterly amazing, Mick Jagger can put on a show! The rest of the guys do look really, really old. I felt for Charlie Watts he looked sore..

However, £5.20 for a can of Tennats lager ( 89p in Morrisons) come on Murrayfield, you made a mental load of money. I’ve never seen so many pissed people at a concert, but enjoying themselves.

Other reviews suggested they set was 22 songs, I counted 19 so don’t know if we were short changed because of the 1030 curfew. Great concert, T shirts £30 come on guys ...

The Rolling Stones concert was absolutely amazing. The singing, the music, the lighting, the fireworks and those large screens were great. They strutted their stuff through all the favourite numbers and some other great songs. Before you go, read the list of items not allowed inside the concert because you will lose them. Handbags larger than A5 size not allowed, including bumbags, cameras and camera bags, to name a few. All in All, everything went very smoothly, everyone loved it and we all had an amazing night, never to be forgotten.

The greatest rock n roll band in the world - No doubt about it. Mick, Keef, Charlie and Ronnie were sensational. From the opening Street Fighting Man to the encores of Gimme Shelter and Satisfaction they were as great as ever. Mick was the imperious frontman, Keith the axe wielding lunatic, Charlie the rock upon which the driving rhythms of Paint it Black are built, Ronnie the joker whose rhythm guitar convinces you the Stones play the devil’s music. Sensational just sensational. It was a privilege to be there.

The Rolling Stones announce tour dates for 2024 across North America

The Rolling Stones perform in Solna, Sweden.

Last month, The Rolling Stones released  “Hackney Diamonds,”  their first album of original material in 18 years.

Tuesday, the legendary English band announced they’re taking it on the road.

Starting on April 28 in Houston and concluding in Santa Clara, California, on July 17, the Stones will make their way across the U.S. and Canada.

The tour hits 16 major cities, including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Fans can expect to experience the Stones’ most popular hits as well as new tracks from “Hackney Diamonds.”

The Stones last performed across the U.S. in 2021 for their No Filter tour, marking the first time the band had toured without drummer Charlie Watts since 1963. Watts, the self-effacing and unshakeable Rolling Stones drummer who helped anchor one of rock’s greatest rhythm sections,  died in August 2021. He was 80.

Tickets for the Stones’ North American Hackney Diamonds tour go on sale on Dec. 1.

The Rolling Stones Announce 2024 Stadium Tour in Support of 'Hackney Diamonds' Album — See the Dates!

The Rolling Stones' upcoming 16-date run marks the U.K. rock band's first U.S. concerts since 2019's No Filter Tour

MARK SELIGER

The Rolling Stones are taking Hackney Diamonds to North America!

On Tuesday, the legendary U.K. rock band announced the Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds, sponsored by AARP, a 16-date run of stadium concerts across the United States and Canada set for next year.

Kicking off April 28 in Houston, the Rolling Stones will perform shows in cities including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and more before wrapping on July 17 in Santa Ana, California.

Kevin Mazur/Getty

The Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds marks the "Jumpin' Jack Flash" group's first time returning to the U.S. for an official string of concerts since 2019's No Filter Tour — as well as its first since the death of longtime drummer Charlie Watts in August 2021.

Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. local time, with more information available at the Rolling Stones' website .

Before releasing Hackney Diamonds last month, the band held an intimate concert at club Racket in New York City, where members Mick Jagger , Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood performed songs including such as “Shattered,” “Angry,” “Whole Wide World” and "Jumpin' Jack Flash."

The performance also included the live debut of Hackney Diamonds track "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" with a surprise appearance from Lady Gaga , who provides guest vocals on the song.

The Stones  announced  Hackney Diamonds   at a press event in London earlier this month, where Jagger, Richards and Wood took the stage to talk to  Jimmy Fallon  about the album.

"We wouldn't have put this album out if we didn't really like it," Jagger, 80, said to Fallon. "We must say that we are quite pleased with it. We’re not big-headed but we hope you like it."

In an emotional moment, the trio also touched on what it was like to record the album without Watts. "Ever since Charlie’s gone it’s different, he’s number four," Richards, 79, said. "He’s missing, he’s up there. Of course he's missed incredibly."

See below for the full list of Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds dates.

For the Saturday, June 15, show at Cleveland Browns Stadium , the Stones have chosen Pittsburgh “rock n’ blues” Ghost Hounds , who have previously opened for the Stones as well as ZZ Top, Garth Brooks and Bob Seger.

The band’s most recent album, “First Last Time,” their fourth full-length release, was released in July of 2023. Tickets for the show are still on sale at ticketmaster.com .

Any Greater Cleveland area fans who may be triggered by the choice of a proud Pittsburgh band performing at a massive show at Cleveland Browns Stadium can take easy solace in the simple fact that The Rolling Stones’ “Hackney Diamonds Tour” will be completely ignoring the hometown of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Other acts opening on the “Hackney Diamonds Tour” include singer-guitarist Gary Clark Jr. (Houston), soul legend Bettye LaVette and country singer Lainey Wilson (Chicago), veteran jam band Widespread Panic (Denver) and teenaged punk rock grrrls The Linda Lindas (Los Angeles.)

Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones are back on tour in 2024, and tickets are still available for those waiting to see the iconic rock band. The English band, founded in 1962, is heading through North America this year for their Hackney Diamonds Tour, celebrating the release of their latest album. We can show you how to get Rolling Stones concert tickets for all the upcoming dates on the 2024 tour.

Having performed over 2000 concerts worldwide over the past 62 years, The Rolling Stones' Hackney Diamonds Tour will take the group across 16 cities to play 19 shows. The 2024 tour kicks off in April in Houston, Texas, with over a dozen more shows following before their final bow of the concert series in Santa Clara, California.

Joining frontman Mick Jagger are fellow founding Rolling Stones member Keith Richards (guitar) and Ronnie Wood (guitar), the latter of whom became an official band member in 1976. The Rolling Stones have already confirmed that their timeless hits such as "Start Me Up," "Satisfaction," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Gimme Shelter" will be among the songs to expect on the Hackney Diamonds Tour's setlist.

How to get tickets for The Rolling Stones 2024 concert tour

While tickets have been on sale since December 1, 2023, plenty of original and verified resale tickets remain from platforms like Ticketmaster. However, verified resale tickets are generally cheaper than original standard ticket prices.

Verified resale ticket vendors such as StubHub and Vivid Seats still have numerous tickets for The Rolling Stones available to purchase.

How much are Rolling Stones ticket prices?

Ticket prices for The Rolling Stones' Hackney Diamonds tour vary depending on date and location. For instance, the concert dates that are part of bigger events, such as Memorial Day Weekend shows and the Stones' Jazz Fest appearance, are generally more expensive.

Though tickets have been on sale for several months, the original ticket prices of many concert dates are still comparable to resale costs. However, resale ticket prices are generally less expensive, though the differences largely depend on location and demand.

On StubHub, the cheapest concert ticket prices for the Stones' 2024 tour dates range from $21 in Seattle to $185 in New Orleans. However, the latter is more expensive because the performance is part of the general admission price for the city's Jazz Festival. Meanwhile, Vivid Seats' least expensive ticket prices begin anywhere between $22 to $251 in the same cities. The cheapest resale ticket listings have decreased in price across the entirety of the tour over the past three months.

In January, the lowest price for a standard original ticket on Ticketmaster was $129 for the July 10 concert date in Los Angeles. On the other hand, the cheapest standard original ticket for the Santa Clara performance was $242.

VIP packages are also still available for The Rolling Stones' 2024 tour. The Hackney Diamonds Tour has the Start Me Up Package, Get Close Package, Jumpin' Jack Flash Package, Gimme Shelter Package, Paint It Black Package, and Tumbling Dice Package. For example, at the Seattle show on May 15, the VIP package prices on Ticketmaster begin at $899, $749, $449, $379, and $315 for the latter five packages, respectively.

Who is opening for The Rolling Stones' tour?

The Rolling Stones announced their opening acts just days before the start of their Hackney Diamonds Tour. They'll bring a variety of musicians to different dates throughout the tour. Among the scheduled openers are artists and bands like The Linda Lindas, Gary Clark Jr., Tyler Childers, KALEO, Lainey Wilson, and more.

Previous tours have seen artists such as Echo & the Bunnymen, Zac Brown Band, The Kooks, Cage the Elephant, and Ed Sheeran open for the rock band.

Will there be international tour dates?

The Rolling Stones have not confirmed an international leg for their 2024 concert series. So far, the only international show outside the United States will be in Vancouver, Canada, on July 5, and a one-off show in Germany on August 9.

While the tour is confined to North America for now, the Stones could announce an international expansion later.

No one rocks like The Rolling Stones: Mick Jagger, band thrill on Hackney Diamonds Tour

rolling stones tour locations

HOUSTON − It’s not only stunning, but somewhat miraculous that more than 60 years after their first tour, the Rolling Stones are still filling stadiums.

It’s even more head-spinning to realize that along with their treasured hits, the Rolling Stones are enhancing their setlist with a trio of songs from last year’s well-received “Hackney Diamonds” – their first album of original material in 18 years and the impetus for this 16-city tour.

We’d call it a victory lap, but frontman Mick Jagger is better suited for marathons.

At the kickoff April 28 at NRG Stadium in Houston, the core triumvirate of Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – along with their supporting cast of exceptional musicians and singers – hit the massive stage to the sounds of Richards’ slashing out the riff of, fittingly, “Start Me Up.”

Jagger, the nimble CEO of Stones Inc., peacocked in a silver shimmering jacket, his elastic legs a mere pedestal for his rotating torso.

Richards, still owning his disheveled pirate look with a knit cap and multicolored scarf dangling from his hip, and Wood, grinning continuously and occasionally scampering down the lengthy catwalk, retained their roles as faithful consiglieres.

There isn’t a patch of smooth facial skin among them (Jagger and Richards are 80 and Wood is 76). But with the energy to plow through an 18-song, two-hour set – yes, shorter than previous Stones shows, but still fulfilling – no one is looking to crown them as pageant winners.

More: Jon Bon Jovi talks 'mental anguish' of vocal cord issues, 'big brother' Bruce Springsteen

While the band needed a couple of songs to fully find their groove – the striding cadence of a reworked “Get Off Of My Cloud” and a ramshackle “Rocks Off” felt curious rather than robust – Jagger compensated with his riveting presence and still-supple vocals.

Along with the “Hackney Diamonds” songs plucked for their major live debuts (the band played a few of the new tracks at an intimate New York club gig in October ), including the feisty “ Angry ” and encore of gospelized “ Sweet Sounds of Heaven ,” the 1966 tune “ Out of Time ” also received its U.S. debut. The band revived it last year during some performances for the overseas Sixty tour.

“I don’t think you really knew it, but you got to know it,” Jagger said with a smile after leading the nearly full stadium through the arm-waving chorus.

As typical for a Rolling Stones production, the stage ran the width of the stadium, blanketed with screens beaming images of the band with magnificent clarity. Closeups of drummer Steve Jordan, who assumed rhythm duties after the 2021 death of original drummer Charlie Watts , joyfully thundering through the gem “ Paint It, Black ” and birthday boy Chuck Leavell ripping out a fleet-fingered solo on his Yamaha keyboard on “Honky Tonk Women” offered fans a peek at the magic happening a few feet behind Jagger and Co.

During the always-visceral “ Sympathy for the Devil ,” as serpents and fire crawled across the screens, Jagger prowled through the sinister groove, augmented by percussion provided by background vocalist Bernard Fowler and chunky bass lines from Darryl Jones.

Keyboardist Matt Clifford added French horn to “ You Can’t Always Get What You Want ” while Jagger, playing an acoustic guitar, strolled through the message of acquiescence that escalated into a gospel throwdown.

The horn duo of Karl Denson and Tim Ries coated many familiar anthems – “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Miss You” among them – with their rich brass sounds. But, as fans have realized over the decades, the ominous “Gimme Shelter” remains a centerpiece of any Rolling Stones concert, and Jagger has a new onstage playmate in powerhouse background vocalist Chanel Haynes.

The woman who starred as Tina Turner in the West End musical of Turner’s life and officially became part of the band last year, steamrolled through “Gimme Shelter” with a voice blaring attitude and vigor. As she and Jagger strolled the catwalk, sharing vocals and chemistry, Jagger wisely backed off a couple of times, allowing Haynes to unleash her theatrical verve.

But this is still Jagger’s circus, and whether he’s bobbing like a jittery prizefighter or wiggling his shoulders like the world’s most slender Chippendales dancer, he is an octogenarian who captivates.

The band has enlisted various openers throughout the tour. In Houston, blues-rock guitar ace – and Texas native – Gary Clark Jr. landed the opening night slot and for 45 minutes, enchanted the mostly full stadium.

With a large band – five musicians, three background vocalists – behind him, Clark was the epitome of cool in dark shades and a bandana as he took the stage with “Maktub” from his recently released fourth album, “JPEG Raw.”

Clark is a big name for an opener (then again, it is the Rolling Stones) and he utilized his time well with massive licks on the crunch rockers “Bright Lights” and “This is Who We Are,” with singer Naala joining him.

The soul-inflected “Feed the Babies” seared as a set highlight, as the singer-guitarist displayed sizzling playing and a breezy vibe for the receptive crowd.

Houston, We Have a Rock Star: Mick Jagger Visits NASA’s Johnson Space Center Ahead of Rolling Stones Tour

by Matt Friedlander April 28, 2024, 12:25 pm

The Rolling Stones kick off their 2024 tour at NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday, April 28, but a couple days before the big show, Mick Jagger paid a visit to one of the city’s historic sites.

Jagger’s post features a message that reads, “Thanks @nasa for being so welcoming to us and great to be shown around by astronauts Josh Cassada, Bob Hines and Jessica Meir.” The photos include a pic of the 80-year-old rock legend standing in front of the Mission Control room, with a TV screen behind him featuring a message welcoming him.

Other photos show Jagger wearing virtual reality goggles, and sitting in what appears to be a spaceflight simulator.

The Rolling Stones’ official poster for the Houston concert references NASA. It depicts a spaceman tethered to a metallic version of the band’s tongue-and-lips logo, with rocket ships flying and a star-filled sky behind it.

Fans React to Jagger’s Space Center Visit

Not surprisingly, many Rolling Stones fans enjoyed seeing the pics of Jagger having fun while visiting the space center, and shared their reactions in the comments section of his Instagram post.

One fan wrote, “Love that Mick keeps moving and feeding that intellectual mind, and what a great day for the space center staff!”

A second commented, “Mick [is] still on fire. Been rocking with him since the 60’s. Welcome to Houston.”

A third wrote, “Woooow yeah!!! [Mick Jagger] at [NASA] was what we needed[.] Mick you are a star in real life.”

In addition, a Johnson Space Center rep posted a note to Jagger that read, “Thanks for stopping by.”

The Rolling Stones’ Tour Director Shares Details About the Trek

Meanwhile, in an interview with Houston TV station KHOU , The Rolling Stones’ tour director, Dale Skjerseth, talked about the band’s new trek and the kickoff launch.

Asked why The Stones chose to begin the tour in Houston, Skjerseth said, “That I don’t know, but I’m glad they did. I like Houston. It’s a good place.”

Skjerseth also noted that the venue, NRG Stadium has “got a roof. He added, “[W]e’re indoors, and if anything goes wrong or gets too hot, it’s a very well climate-controlled venue. And it’s easy to work there.”

Regarding the show itself, Skjerseth pointed out, “All the video content is brand new. All the stuff that’s been put together, they’ve spent the time and money and energy into bringing it to the newest state of the art of what we are.”

As for how the band members are feeling about starting a new trek, the tour director said, “They’re excited. They’re looking forward to it. Nervous. Like anything else, they take pride in their art.”
