Skid Row are back with a brand-new singer, along with news of a new album, The Gang’s All Here . In advance of the LP’s October 14th release, the veteran rockers have unveiled the title track.

The band is starting a new era with Swedish singer Erik Grönwall, formerly of the band H.E.A.T. Grönwall replaces ZP Theart, who had fronted Skid Row since 2016.

The new album announcement comes right as Skid Row are set to support Scorpions during a Las Vegas residency that begins Saturday night (March 26th) and runs through April 16th at the Zappos Theater. Skid Row also have a full slate of shows lined up from late April through mid October, many of which are part of the “Live to Rock Tour” also featuring Lita Ford, Winger, Warrant and Quiet Riot on select dates. Tickets for Skid Row’s upcoming shows, including the Vegas residency, are available via Ticketmaster .

The Gang’s All Here  is being produced by the highly sought after Nick Raskulinecz , known for his work with Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Deftones, and many more high-profile rock acts.

“We are beyond excited to release this record,” stated founding Skid Row members Rachel Bolan and Dave “Snake” Sabo in a press release. “It has been a long time in the making and a lot of hard work has been put into it by the band and our producer Nick Raskulinecz. The addition of Erik has lifted the songs to new heights. Add all this to the fact that we start our world tour in Las Vegas with the Scorpions residency this Saturday at Zappos Theater makes it easy to say that Skid Row is going to have a great year.”

Separately, former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach has been celebrating his legacy in the band in recent years, despite exiting the group in 1996. The vocalist has embarked on tours marking the 30th anniversaries of the first two Skid Row albums — 1989’s self-titled debut and 1991’s Slave to the Grind .

Skid Row is one of the most popular and endearing Heavy Metal bands to come out of America. The apex of the group’s career took place in the late 80s and early 90s; however they are still actively performing and recording.

The band formed in 1986, but did not have a stable line up until the following year. The group was started by New Jersey natives Rachel Bolan who played the bass and Dave “The Snake” Sabo the group’s guitarist. In addition to those founding members,the band congealed into a core lineup consisting of vocalist Sebastian Bach, guitarist Scotti Hill, and drummer Rob Affuso.

The band had gathered somewhat of a following touring small clubs throughout the east coast of the United States. The group was in a way taken under the care of Sabo’s long-time friend Jon Bon Jovi and was signed by Bon Jovi’s manager Doc McGhee. Things started to fall into place for the band after that. They entered in a record contract with Atlantic Records in 1988 and subsequently recorded their debut self-titled album with renowned producer Michael Wagener who was responsible for producing works for Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and White Lion. Soon after recording their debut the band landed a stint opening for Bon Jovi on their “New Jersey tour”.

The album came out on 24 January 1989 and was an instant success. It peaked to No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and was loaded with the following 3 top 10 hits: “18 and Life”, “I Remember You” and “Youth Gone Wild”. Since the album’s release it has sold over 5 million copies and despite critics previous tendencies to pan heavy metal albums it managed to score positive reviews.

The band hit the road again with rock giants Aerosmith and entered in the studio to record their follow up album “Slave to the Grind” with Wagener. Their sophomore release came out in 1991 and marked a stylistic change for the band. Their sound was more stark and raw and incorporated experimental styles such as speed metal. Despite the band’s deviation from the mainstream rock sound they went on to repeat the commercial success that they experienced with their first album. “Slave to the Grind” put the band at No. 1 on the American charts and saw them opening for Guns N’ Roses.

The band released their third album “Subhuman Race” in 1995. Though it would not match the success of their first two albums, it managed to chart in the top 40s. The band promoted this release by opening for Van Halen.

The lineup of Skid Row dramatically changed with the departure of lead singer Sebastian Bach. Although the band did not release an album until 8 years later, they did continue to tour. Some of their dates were with KISS. The band would go on to release one other full length album “Revolutions per Minute” and also played their biggest show ever, playing the Polish Woodstock to over 500,000 attendees.

Live reviews

When I read that Skid Row were returning to my city I immediately became excited. I had seen them perform nearly 20 years ago. Upon arriving at the venue, a rush of excitement ran through me. This concert was going to be amazing.

I found my seat and waited for the show to begin. Behind the stage, a large screen showed clips from prior performances. The crowd was excited before the band even took the stage.The lights went on and the band started to perform "Monkey Business." The singer looked different. It wasn't Sebastian Bach. I asked someone who it was. They said it is Johnny Solinger. I soon forgot the absence of Sebastian Bach. This singer was amazing. When he sang "18 and Life" and "I Remember You" he sounded as as good as Sebastian.

I felt like I was seeing the real Skid Row. The band sounded better than ever.Towards the end of the set, they played a few new songs. The crowd seemed to love these songs as much as the old songs. This made me very hopeful for the future of the band. Even with the loss of members, they have managed to continue and get better. Overall, the show was great. The singer was amazing. His vocals were so clear, I couldn't believe he was actually singing live. I look forward to seeing Skid Row again.

This concert was awesome! All of the bands that played were great. I hadn't been to a concert recently so I went to see Skid Row with a friend of mine. At the Starland Ballroom. Skid Row was the best it was my first time seeing the new lead singer with the band. You did a great show! I checked their tour dates and they've heading overseas for a while. Hope to see Skid Row again sometime in the future. David

Fantastic! Energetic, great vocals, acoustics well balanced. Animated. My only complaint is I was front center, rocking out like a tornado in a trailer park, but the lead singer rarely lingered in middle. He was at one side or the other, as were the others. Felt invisible. No connection. I can have that at a large venue. Aside from that, it was a great show.

Skid Row is an awesome band to see live! The jam during Monkey Business with Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill was mad cool, and all five members have endless energy. These guys are clearly doing what they love, and I love seeing them live! Skid Row will forever be the Youth Gone Wild!

The show was awesome. Great set list, basically the whole first 2 albums plus a Ramones song.

New singer is good but not great.It was a little too loud and too much high end so it was a little hard to hear all the solos clearly.Overall,they kicked was and would go again

Venue sucks (Turning Stone Casino). Had a good view from the "Kings Tables" -but, tables, @ a effing Rock & Roll show.. bad enough there's chairs at the stage..

Doors opened @ 8pm.. Got there at 20 min past & SR was already on stage and it was over by 925. Lame.

Skid row did a GREAT job. I was pleasantly surprised because their original lead singer left some BIG shoes to fill. But the new guy has a great voice and is a really great front man. (of course no one will ever be Sebastian). But he totally brought it.

The show was great. The supporting bands were equally as good as Skid Row.

Quireboys rocked the place and the drinking contest on stage was a lovely touch.

Could do with more sellers though located in a better place as very crowded

Awesome show! Hollowstar, Crash Diet, and The Quireboys were on point as well. Engine Rooms is a quality little venue!

Skid Row and Warrant announced the “Live To Rock” 2022 tour that will also have Winger, Kip Winger, Quiet Riot and Lita Ford as opening acts. The dates go from April to September.

The current Skid Row line-up has Dave “The Snake” Sabo (Guitar), Rachel Bolan (Bass), Scotti Hill (Guitar), Rob Hammersmith (Drums) and ZP Theart (Vocals). New Skid Row album

Skid Row guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo revealed recently in an interview with The Music Universe that the new album of the Hard Rock group will be released next September 16 and it was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Nick Raskulinecz. It will be the group’s first record with vocalist ZP Theart, who joined the band back in 2016 and had already worked with Dragonforce and Tank.

Skid Row and Warrant to Launch Live to Rock Summer 2022 Tour

Skid Row and Warrant are hitting the road together this summer on the Live to Rock tour, tapping several of their big-haired, hard-rocking peers for support on various dates.

The trek is currently scheduled to begin on April 30 in Ashland, Ky., and conclude on Sept. 15 in Lynn, Mass., though more dates are expected to be announced in the future. You can find more ticketing information via  Ticketmaster  and see the full list of dates below.

Support for the shows will vary, with Quiet Riot , Winger and Lita Ford (or some combination of the three) opening the dates. The July 25 show in Paso Robles, Calif., will also feature a Kip Winger unplugged set.

Of all the bands on the Live to Rock tour, Winger is the only one with its original singer and namesake. Former DragonForce frontman ZP Theart has fronted Skid Row since 2016, while Robert Mason has fronted Warrant since 2008 when he replaced original lead singer Jani Lane , who died in 2011. Jizzy Pearl fronted Quiet Riot from 2013-16 and rejoined the group in 2019.

Skid Row have announced a new singer

Skid Row have replaced singer ZP Theart with Erik Grönwall, former frontman with Swedish arena rockers H.E.A.T.

Skid Row have announced a new singer. The new frontman is Erik Grönwall, former singer with Swedish rockers H.E.A.T. , who replaces ZP Theart, the former Dragonforce vocalist who joined Skid Row in 2016. 

Grönwall is the fourth man to have have fronted Skid Row since the departure of the band's best-known singer Sebastian Bach in 1996. Bach was followed by Johnny Solinger, who enjoyed a 16-year tenure, and TNT singer Tony Harnell, who spent eight months with the band in 2015 before making way for Theart.

The news of Grönwall's appointment was confirmed in a statement from the band, which read, "It's a new era for Skid Row. With a new album, a new single and a world tour, we've added a new voice. Welcome powerhouse vocalist Erik Grönwall, formerly from the band H.E.A.T. from Sweden."

The first new music from the Grönwall-fronted Skid Row will we unveiled this week, with the release of new single The Gang's All Here , the title track of an album that's due in October. The band have posted a snippet of the song on Instagram (see below). 

Grönwall posted a photo on Instagram , accompanied by the text, "Ladies and gents. I herby declare the circle of all fucking circles complete. You’re looking at the new singer of Skid Row."

A 21-year-old Grönwall performed Skid Row's 18 And Life in a 2009 episode of reality TV show Swedish Idol and went on to win the competition, which led to the job with H.E.A.T. He left the band by mutual consent a decade later, and in 2021 posted an updated recording of 18 And Life on streaming platforms, calling the song "the starting point of my professional career as an artist."

The same year Grönwall hooked up with another former band member, Jona Tee, to form the power metal band New Horizon. Their debut album, Gate Of The Gods , was released earlier this month.

Grönwall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2021. "I am extremely privileged and grateful to live at a day and age where a disease like this is curable," he wrote at the time. "There’s been so much progress made in this field. My body is reacting well to the treatment but it’s a long treatment and it’s going to be the toughest challenge of my life so far, for me and my family."

Grönwall, 34, is Swedish and has been turning heads for more than a decade with his soaring vocal abilities. “It’s a new era for SKID ROW . Grönwall first came to the attention of the masses when he appeared on Swedish Idol for the first time as a 19 year old in 2007. Wikipedia writes : In 2009, he won the Swedish Idol reality television. During several of the shows, he received standing ovations from the jury for his performances. His first single, “ Higher “, sold gold on digital downloads after only three days. His debut album, self-titled Erik Grönwall , was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Skid Row have simultaneously announced the split with their previous frontman ZP Theart ( Dragonforce ) who had been fronting the band since 2016. Blabbermouth states : As previously reported, SKID ROW has replaced QUEENSRŸCHE as the support act on the rescheduled dates for SCORPIONS ‘ “Sin City Nights” Las Vegas residency. The run of shows, which was originally slated to take place in July 2020 and was later pushed back to May 2021, will now happen starting on March 26 at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. As of press-time there has been no comment from Sebastian Bach, yet.

Skid Row Announce New Singer, New Album, and New Single “The Gang’s All Here”: Stream

The veteran rockers also have an extensive 2022 tour mapped out

Skid Row are back with a brand-new singer, along with news of a new album, The Gang’s All Here . In advance of the LP’s October 14th release, the veteran rockers have unveiled the title track.

The band is starting a new era with Swedish singer Erik Grönwall, formerly of the band H.E.A.T. Grönwall replaces ZP Theart, who had fronted Skid Row since 2016.

The new album announcement comes right as Skid Row are set to support Scorpions during a Las Vegas residency that begins Saturday night (March 26th) and runs through April 16th at the Zappos Theater. Skid Row also have a full slate of shows lined up from late April through mid October, many of which are part of the “Live to Rock Tour” also featuring Lita Ford, Winger, Warrant and Quiet Riot on select dates. Tickets for Skid Row’s upcoming shows, including the Vegas residency, are available via Ticketmaster .

The Gang’s All Here  is being produced by the highly sought after Nick Raskulinecz, known for his work with Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Deftones, and many more high-profile rock acts.

“We are beyond excited to release this record,” stated founding Skid Row members Rachel Bolan and Dave “Snake” Sabo in a press release. “It has been a long time in the making and a lot of hard work has been put into it by the band and our producer Nick Raskulinecz. The addition of Erik has lifted the songs to new heights. Add all this to the fact that we start our world tour in Las Vegas with the Scorpions residency this Saturday at Zappos Theater makes it easy to say that Skid Row is going to have a great year.”

Separately, former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach has been celebrating his legacy in the band in recent years, despite exiting the group in 1996. The vocalist has embarked on tours marking the 30th anniversaries of the first two Skid Row albums — 1989’s self-titled debut and 1991’s Slave to the Grind .

How SKID ROW's New Singer Went From Covering '18 And Life' On 'Swedish Idol' To Fronting The Band: 'It's Like A Hollywood Script'

New SKID ROW singer Erik Grönwall was a guest on Swedish TV channel TV4 's "Nyhetsmorgon" program earlier today (Thursday, April 21). During the chat, Erik discussed how he went from auditioning for the competition show "Swedish Idol" back in 2009 by singing a cover of SKID ROW 's "18 And Life" to now fronting the band. The 10-minute Swedish-language segment can be viewed below.

Erik talked about his longtime love for SKID ROW 's music during an appearance on the latest episode of SiriusXM 's "Trunk Nation L.A. Invasion" , recorded just hours before the band's first performance with the Swedish singer on March 26 in Las Vegas as the opening act for the SCORPIONS . The 34-year-old musician said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET ): "I grew up listening to SKID ROW , and I was working as a karaoke host before I wanted to become an artist. So I was working as a karaoke host — I did everything I could just to work with music. And I was singing '18 And Life' and 'Youth Gone Wild' during these karaoke nights. And [former SKID ROW singer] Sebastian 's [ Bach ] voice was one of the reasons why I even started singing. And then I managed to get on 'Idol' — the 'Idol' show in Sweden — and on my audition, I sang '18 And Life' . And it kind of, like… It's so full circle here. So, that song became the song that gave me a career. And since then, I managed to become the frontman of H.E.A.T. I've been in that band for 12 years. And I've been working with John Legend and Alice Cooper ; in New York, we did 'Jesus Chris Superstar' live in concert, which was aired on NBC . And that was in 2018. And then last year, I was diagnosed with leukemia. And this is why I started a YouTube channel. Because I was kind of moving away from being an artist; I wanted to try other things. And I started the YouTube channel because I promised myself when I was at the hospital — I got full perspective — and I was, like, 'If I make it out of here alive, I'm gonna sing for the rest of my life.' And I started the YouTube channel as a healing process; I just had to sing — I had to get music out there.' And then [in] January [of 2022], I think, [ SKID ROW bassist] Rachel [ Bolan ] contacted me [about joining the band]. And it's been happening so fast. It's so surreal — everything. I'm still trying to process the whole timeline. [ Laughs ] It's like a Hollywood script."

Grönwall joined SKID ROW as the replacement for ZP Theart , who had been in the group for more than six years.

Last month, SKID ROW released its first single with Grönwall , "The Gang's All Here" . The song is the title track of the band's upcoming album, which will arrive on October 14 via earMUSIC .

SKID ROW recorded most of "The Gang's All Here" in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Nick Raskulinecz , who has previously worked with FOO FIGHTERS , STONE SOUR , HALESTORM , EVANESCENCE , RUSH and ALICE IN CHAINS , among many others.

Bolan recently told Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station about Grönwall 's addition to SKID ROW : "Just the way he does things and his work ethic is one I've never seen other than the four of us that are already in the band. He just doesn't stop until he gets things absolutely right. Whether it's his version, what he thinks is right, or what we think is right, he works hard — he works hard. And you can see why he had the success he did overseas because he's a really, really hard-working singer that takes care of his instrument and that takes pride in his craft."

Rachel also reflected on SKID ROW 's first live performance with Grönwall , saying: "Honestly, dude, from the minute he opened his mouth… His timing is impeccable. We knew it was gonna be cool. And each show has gotten even better, 'cause we're learning each other's rhythm on stage. When I walked away from that show, I said to Erik , I go, 'This was show one. I cannot wait for show one hundred. It's gonna be amazing.'"

Bolan previously talked about how Erik came to join SKID ROW during the aforementioned appearance on "Trunk Nation L.A. Invasion" . "We toured together. H.E.A.T. was on tour with SKID ROW . What year was that? '18? And we'd hear him every night from the dressing room," he said. "And a couple of times, I was, like, 'Man, listen to this guy sing. He's phenomenal.' And then, I forget who told me, someone that was with us, 'Yeah, he won 'Idol' in Sweden.' And I was, like, 'Man, he's got pipes.' And I was listening. Then I went behind the monitor board a couple of times. And in my head, I'm, like, 'Wow! When SKID ROW has some downtime, I'm gonna get in touch with this dude and start a side project with him.' And obviously, that never happened. But as time went on and we got to the point to where we were with ZP and stuff, Erik was our first… I told Snake , I go, 'We've gotta check this guy out.' And along with Snake and the rest of the guys, and Nick, our producer, Nick Raskulinecz , were, like, 'He's the guy, man. Send him some songs.' So we sent him some songs that we were recording, just with a guide vocal on it, and it came back about 24 hours later, and we were, like, 'All right. He's the guy. Get him on a plane. Let's do this.'"

Grönwall sang on H.E.A.T. 's last four studio albums — "Address The Nation" (2012), "Tearing Down The Walls" (2014), "Into The Great Unknown" (2017) and "H.E.A.T II" (2020) — before exiting the group in October 2020.

Grönwall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March 2021. A short time later, he wrote on his social media: "I am extremely privileged and grateful to live at a day and age where a disease like this is curable. There's been so much progress made in this field. My body is reacting well to the treatment but it's a long treatment and it's going to be the toughest challenge of my life so far, for me and my family."

Last September, Grönwall released his cover version of "18 And Life" via all streaming platforms. At the time, he said about his version of the track: "This song was basically the starting point of my professional career as an artist. I performed this song during my 'Swedish Idol' audition back in 2009. 12 years later it's time to give this bad boy a try again. Here's my version of the SKID ROW song '18 And Life' ."

In 2018, Grönwall debuted in the U.S. for 10 million viewers in NBC 's live broadcast of Andrew Lloyd Webber 's and Tim Rice 's musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" . Along with John Legend , Alice Cooper , Sara Bareilles and others, Erik played the key role of Simon Zealotes .
