A1 Roadworks

The following roadworks have been reported by various highways agencies and official transport sources.Click on a roadworks item to view more details on the traffic map.

The A1 is the longest road in the UK and runs through England and Scotland, starting in London and stretching all the way to Edinburgh. It is part of the larger A1(M) motorway, which was built in 1959 to improve safety and reduce congestion.

Over the years, the A1 has become a major route for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and long-distance travel. This can result in congestion and higher risks of collisions. As a result, the UK Department for Transport has implemented various initiatives, such as variable speed limits and the introduction of smart motorways, to improve the road networks safety.

According to the latest figures released by the Department for Transport, there were 83 fatalities and 1,306 serious injuries on the A1 between November 2016 and October 2017. This represents a 36% reduction in fatalities and a 13% reduction in serious injuries compared to the previous year. Over the same period, there were 418 recorded incidents, meaning that the A1 is one of the safest roads in the UK.

How often do you travel by plane? Which countries would you like to visit?

Language level

I've never traveled by plane but I had one time experience about the flight when I went to Kuala Lumpur by plane to work there for the first time in 3rd March last year. And I hope  to visit and travel to Netherlands to make my dream comes true.

I never traveled by plane because I never left my country. I want to begin traveling more and to visit South Korea and Iceland.

I try to travel twice a year. I could say is quite easy to me travel by plane because I work in aviation industry. My last travel was two months ago to Los Angeles in the US. The next one will be in April to Miami and I am so excited cant wait!! :)

I usually travel to Thailand three times once a year. I love to visit there because culture of Thailand and Myanmar are much similar and cuisines are mostly the same. People are also very hospitable and friendly. There are a lot of bars and pubs where we can enjoy till midnight. Not only it is joyful for young people but also it is also good for business people because it has a lot of tourist attraction places. The reasons that I have mentioned are main causes that I have chosen Thailand as one of favorite places to visit.

I live in Algeria, the biggest country in Africa. In Algeria the distance between a city in the North and another city in the south is much more tall than the distance between Algeria's north and France, so for far destinations in Algeria, I usually take a plane. In the last summer, I visited Tunisia, using my own car. In Autumn, 2019, I traveled to Croatia, by plane. It was an amazing excursion. I'm the kind of person who likes to travel around the world. but there are lots of circumstances, like visa requirements for some countries, and airplane tickets being expensive. Countries of North America and East Asia are definitely worth visiting.

How often do you travel by plane? Which countries would you like to visit? I do not travel by plane so much. I would like to visit Morocco and New Zealand and Japan and... Oh my God, there are too many places that I would love to visit!

a few day I took a plane with my friend Elmer, He is the Nertherlands we went to know to city Santa Marta since Medellin. we went to the aeroport very early beacuse it's far away of city

Most of my travels by plane, I would like to visit USA, Turkey and Malaysia.

How often do you travel by plane? Which countries would you like to visit? Actually, I didn't travel by plane ever. If I have a chance, I'll visit Ha Noi City in Vietnam. Because It's my motherland, I want to explore there so much.

I travel once or twice a year by plane.and i would like to visit londun and new york.
