You Can Buy a New 7-Seat 2023 Ford Excursion

Ford hasn’t made a Super Duty Excursion SUV for years. But that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from wishing it still did. That was the basis behind MegaRexx Trucks’ converting an F-250 into a new Excursion. And if you like it, you can buy one of these hulking seven-passenger SUVs . 

The MegaRexx SVN Ford F-250 ‘Excursion’ is a murdered-out masterpiece

Over-the-top trucks are a MegaRexx specialty. The Castle Hayne, North Carolina-based outfit calls this three-row extra-large SUV the “MegaRexx SVN.” We’ve covered the company’s other creations, including the MegaRaptor and MegaBronc . When it comes to Ford trucks on bath salts, MegaRexx delivers.

First, the company fashions a long roof from aluminum. Then it turns the F-250 bed into a part of the cabin. Easier said than done, we know. It’s integrated with the rest of the F-250 , not just a fiberglass bed cap.

The long expanse of tinted windows in the murdered-out presentation goes almost unnoticed.

Step into the luxurious MegaRexx SVN interior

Inside, the blackness continues with leather-trimmed Lariat Ultimate everything. That and more give the cabin an upscale appearance.

The front and second-row seating feature power bucket seats. And the rear uses a Ford Expedition third row, trimmed like the front and middle-row bucket seats. Additionally, the third-row passengers get a Vintage Air climate-controlled system. And with the Lariat Ultimate trim, the front seats come heated and ventilated.

Also, expect the Ford Sync 4 infotainment system and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system as part of the package. 

This 7-seat Excursion conversion has other unique touches

Outside, the MegaRexx SVN Super Duty receives a modest 2.5-inch lift, along with a Carli Suspension leveling system. The 20-inch rims are Fuel Militia wheels, supporting 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler off-road hoops. Thanks to those tires and lift, tubular side steps are also part of the package.

In addition, you’ll find plenty of MegaRexx ID badging on the exterior. The front and rear fenders get badges, as do the C-pillars. Also, the company name is emblazoned on the tailgate. Inside, the only identification appears on the dash, expected for a high-end custom SUV . 

How much does a MegaRexx SVN Ford F-250 ‘Excursion’ cost?

The starting price is $179,950. At first, that’s enough to make you think twice. But this vehicle is truly unique, yet it can haul family, friends, toys, and more with ease. And it’s big. If you want big, the MegaRexx SVN is it.

Furthermore, this Excursion conversion looks like it came from Ford. Some other aftermarket creations look like hatchet jobs. MegaRexx has done plenty of similar conversions for the past few years. So don’t be afraid. Step up to a large, luxe, rugged 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty “Excursion.”

My 2005-2009 mega mega.

My favorite platform is the 2006-2009 Dodge Mega cab platform with a full 42″ stretch. I have become a fan of the dependable torque from the 6.7 Cummins and addicted to the 6 speed automatic coupled with the built-in exhaust brake. I also like the rear AC vents and other amenities only found in the 2006-2007 trucks. So for this build I started out with a 2007.5 with the 6.7, Laramie with the Tan interior (very rare truck)

Current  Adela’s Ride

After building a number of Excursion conversions for other families…I finally got around to building my wifes 2002 six door Ford Excursion 7.3 . We have owned this Excursion for some time and it has served our family well… but I did not like towing with the short wheel base and we can always use more passenger space. So it was time to add another set of doors.

We started with a Limited Edition that was Green on Tan, But decided on the white monochrome look…With updated front end and custom hood-bumper combo.

Next it was time to address the worn interior… since the exterior turned out so well we decided to go with the 2005-2007 King Ranch Leather.  This is the softest , best looking leather ever put into a truck. In 2008 Ford went with the pigment in the KR and while you do not have to oil it… the look and feel will never be the same.

We ended up with a custom one-off 6 door Excursion with King Ranch interior capable of hauling the entire Mega X 2 crew !

Specs : 7.3 with 80 HP Injectors , Hybrid Turbo, King Ranch Interior, 11 Passenger Seating, Harley Davidson Headlights, Bull Bumper, 3″ Lift with Firestone Air Springs, Diamond Eye 4″ Turbo back Exhaust with 5″ tip, Upgraded towing trans with external cooler, American Racing 17″ ATX rims, Toyo 285/70 R 17 tires…etc…etc

I started out with an 1987 Ford F-350 that I added an extra row of seats.  It started out as a gas motor, then progressed from a first generation Cummins, second generation with the 98 P Pump, all the way to a third generation common rail pushing 65lbs of boost with a single turbo, propane and methanol injection.

As you can tell by the trophies this 10,000 lbs truck was dominant in the mud bog competition for a number of years.  ( You know you build a truck right when you can rev it to 4,800 rpms and drop the clutch )

In my pursuit for performance I was introduced to Steve Benson of ATS Turbo ( Arguably the father of diesel performance)  and found that he had also built a 1987 Ford… even though it had a stock 7.3 in it … I talked him out of it.

I did not even have the truck 24 hours before the 7.3 was pulled and a 5.9 cummins was installed.  Through multiple turbos, injectors and P-Pumps calibrations, It was running up to 37 degrees timing…. Used to race Corvettes and lift the head gasket in under 8 seconds under full throttle.  Truck was scary powerful … and can’t count the number of grenaded tranny / upgrades built for this specific truck.

• Panoramic Tour of Moscow: See Moscow beyond the postcard images on a private excursion by car through the city streets including a drive along the banks of the Moskva River. Visit the famous Bolshoi Theatre, pass by Gorky Park and the Novodevichy Convent, and admire the city from on high at the Sparrow Hill observation platform.
• Moscow Historical City Centre Guided Walking Tour : Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the world’s biggest metropolises and discover local haunts on foot, including the Red Square, the Kremlin and the multi-coloured domes of St Basil’s Cathedral.
• Armory Chamber tour: Explore the endless treasures of this unique museum, displaying the wealth accumulated by Russian rulers from the 12th century until the October Revolution of 1917. Walking through the exhibition halls is a journey through the centuries.
• Moscow Metro Tour : Go deep underground on a subway tour of the famous Moscow metro. The world’s deepest metro system is renowned for its palatial, art-adorned stations, complete with marble columns and chandeliers.

On your first day, you’ll be treated to a panoramic, drive-by tour of Moscow to get a feel for the immense scale of one of the world’s most rapidly developing urban centres. The city’s history unfolds in real-time as you pass lavish imperial mansions, solemn Soviet structures and luxurious modern shopping centres.

Day two kicks off exploring Moscow’s historic centre on foot, followed by a tour of the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power and political intrigue for centuries. Stand in the Red Square, surrounded by the stunning architecture as you hear stories of the people and events behind many of Moscow’s most iconic landmarks.

On your final day, we’ll head beneath the city for a tour of the Moscow Metro and its famously ornate underground stations. Art lovers should hit up one of Moscow’s many world-class galleries such as the Tretyakov State Gallery, the Pushkin Museum or Garage, Moscow’s cutting-edge contemporary art museum. History fans can follow a Soviet trail through the city including Stalin’s Bunker, while those seeking a more indulgent experience can browse trendy neighbourhoods like Kitay Gorod or shop for everything from fashion to kitsch souvenirs at the enchanting Izmaylovo Flea Market. Foodies can head to one of the countless speciality stores sampling vodka, caviar and chocolate.

Day 1 Panoramic city tour

Welcome to the glorious capital of Russia, Moscow! You’ll be met by your driver at the airport and taken to your centrally located hotel.

After check-in and rest, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby for a comprehensive tour of Moscow by car. Visit the starkly contrasting Theatre Square to see the stunning Bolshoi Theatre, pass Tverskaya Street, the city’s main boulevard and home to the landmark Yeleseyevskiy Grocery Store.

You’ll enjoy a panoramic drive along the Moskva River, where a huge, controversial state of Peter the Great was erected. Pass by the legendary Gorky Park and the White House before a stop at the architecturally stunning Novodevichy Convent, and the observation platform at Sparrow Hills, for a bird’s eye view over this staggering megalopolis.

Day 2 Red Square and Kremlin

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical city centre. Stroll through the Red Square, the hub of cultural life in Moscow, with its elaborate ‘stone flower’ fountain and fantasy-like St Basil’s Cathedral – a postcard-perfect symbol of the nation. Admire the grandiose façade of GUM, the city’s most luxurious shopping centre, and visit Alexander’s Garden, with its eternal flame and the chance to watch a changing of the guards.

Break for lunch before continuing on a tour of the Kremlin and Armoury Chamber, famous of its collection of tsarist fashion, with regalia such as jewel-encrusted crowns, orbs and sceptres as well as arms and armour, exotic gifts from the leaders of faraway lands, and an illustrious case of Imperial Faberge eggs.

As an option* spend an evening on a sumptuous dinner cruise, taking in the stunning sights and city lights of this mesmerising metropolis by night.

Day 3 Metro and Arbat Street

Start a day with a tour of Metro, stopping on the way to marvel at some of the most elaborately decorated stations of the world-famous Moscow subway system. Take a stroll along Old Arbat street - the most famous street in Moscow. Through the centuries Arbat used to be one of the most bohemian places in Moscow. Today Arbat is a promenade full of small cozy cafes and street life.

The afternoon is free for you to either enjoy the rest of the day on your own or choose among optional excursions to explore more of Moscow. Visit the Tretyakov Gallery or Pushkin State Museum to admire Russian art. Join locals for a stroll at the Gorky or VDNH park.

Visit beautiful Kolomeskoye Estate or Izmailovo Kremlin, or spend a day exploring the beautiful city of the Golden Ring (Russian province) - Sergiev Posad. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your departure to your next destination.
