Forza horizon 5: where to find all 50 fast travel boards.

Forza Horizon 5 is full of additional obstacles and collectibles for players to grab, like fast travel boards that reduce the cost of fast travel.

Forza Horizon 5   is full of additional obstacles and collectibles for players to grab, including fast travel boards that reduce the cost of fast travel. There are 50 different locations spread across the beautiful landscape of  Forza Horizon 5 ,  and every time players destroy one they reduce the cost of fast travel by 200 credits. The original cost of fast traveling is 10,000 credits, which can quickly become a costly expense early on. Finding all fast travel boards in  Forza Horizon 5  completely reduces the cost of fast travel, alleviating players of spending credits. Drive through any found fast travel board to destroy it and activate the credit reduction.

At the beginning of the game, players are limited to fast traveling only to locations that are marked on the map. However, in a similar fashion to Forza Horizon 4, players can fully  unlock fast travel in  Forza Horizon 5  by purchasing a house that has the fast travel perk. The property is called Buenas Vistas, and it becomes accessible to purchase after the Guanajuato Expedition has been completed. The Guanajuato Expedition is the expedition under the Horizon Street Scene, and it requires an Accolade Point to access. After 3-4 hours of gameplay, including the introduction, players should have enough Accolade Points earned and progressed far enough in the  Forza Horizon 5  campaign to activate the expedition. The Buenas Vistas property costs 2,000,000 credits, but it allows players to fast travel to any location they desire - meaning smashing all 50 fast travel boards allows players to fast travel anywhere for free.

Most of the fast travel boards are found off-road, but using one of the first best cars in  Forza Horizon 5 , the 2021 Ford Bronco, makes finding all of them easy. Finding every fast travel board will take a decent amount of time, particularly for those who opt-in driving towards them all. The images below show the fast travel boards in the beginning area of Mexico first, and work their way around the map starting from the west coast, moving slightly south, to the center of the map, then to the southernmost area, toward the east coast, and north along the east coast. Fast travel boards are always within close proximity to one another, allowing the images to provide reference points for one another. Furthermore, any fast travel board icon on the mini-map will be grayed out if it has already been smashed, and it's best to keep that setting on while trying to complete this tedious task in  Forza Horizon 5 .

Fast Travel and XP Board location maps - Forza Horizon 5

Struggling to find those last few XP or Fast Travel Boards in Forza Horizon 5? Check out our handy guide and map to the boards.

Chris Jarrard

To say there are lots of things to do in Playground Games’ open-world racing adventure Forza Horizon 5 would be an understatement. From organized circuits to street racing and dodging dust storms, the game has a little bit of everything available to those who wander into the lush, sprawling landscapes of virtual Mexico. One of the more rewarding bits of side content in Forza Horizon 5 is the bonus board hunt. Scattered throughout the map are wooden sign boards that can be smashed with your car. The boards come in two varieties. XP Bonus and Fast Travel.

The XP Bonus Boards offer a few different XP bonuses for players depending on how difficult they are to find or smash. Each Fast Travel Board smashed reduces the cost of open-world fast travel. Players who find all the boards are granted the ability to fast travel for free. If you are just starting out in Forza Horizon 5 or, if you are only short a few of the boards until completion, we have the guide for you. Below you’ll get maps that show the location of all XP Bonus and Fast Travel Boards in Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 5 XP Bonus Board location map

forza horizon 5 xp board map location

In the image above, you see all of the XP Bonus board locations. They are designated with the purple Bonus Board icons. Once you find and smash one of the boards, it will remain on your in-game map, but the color will change to grey. You can use the colors to keep track of which boards you’ve smashed and which still need to be busted up. Should you drive your car near an XP Bonus Board but not smash it, it will remain on your in-game map marked in purple until smashed. The embedded image above may also be enlarged by clicking or tapping the expand image icon in the top left of the map embed.

Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Board location map

forza-horizon-5-fast-travel-board-map-locations

In the image above, you will find all of the Fast Travel Board locations. Each board is represented with a purple icon. Once smashed, the Fast Travel Board icon will change to grey on your in-game map to let you know it has been collected. Each of these boards grants a 200 credit discount on fast travel fees. The starting price for fast traveling is 10,000 credits, so you will need to smash all fifty Fast Travel Boards to unlock free fast traveling. The embedded image above may also be enlarged by clicking or tapping the expand image icon in the top left of the map embed.

There you have it, Forza fans. Using the maps embedded above, you will be able to locate all of the XP Bonus and Fast Travel Boards scattered throughout the sprawling virtual Mexico map in Forza Horizon 5. Have fun out there on the roads (and jungles, deserts, and mountains) while playing, and remember to keep checking in with Shacknews for more great guide content for Forza Horizon 5 and loads of other great games.

Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Boards – How to Find Them All

Image of C.J. Keller

Fast Travel boards in Forza Horizon 5 are going to be one of the most sought after collectibles in the game.  There are 50 Fast Travel Boards in Forza Horizon 5 and getting them all will allow you to fast travel without having to pay any credits.  Getting these boards might seem like an insurmountable task, but with this guide you should be able to identify the locations and find them pretty easily.

How to Find All Fast Travel Boards

fast-travel-board-forza-horizon-5-map

While we could make a map with every fast travel board it’s going to just be easier to tell you how to use the in-game map.  Playground Games has done the work here and given you a map with the locations of all the fast travel bonus boards.  You simply need to open the map by the method of your choice and then access the map filter function. You can access the map filter by pressing either the RB Button (Xbox Controller) or Page Down on PC.  ‘

Once in this settings menu you can unselect all other icons on the map except for the Bonus Boards.  This will take everything off of the in-game map except the boards you are looking for.  However, once you filter these you will see all bonus boards, including the XP ones.  You will need to look for the boards with a lightning bolt on them for the fast travel locations.

From there getting these boards is as easy as plotting a course on your GPS and finding the location.  Some might be in hard to reach locations and you can plot out a strategy accordingly.

Once you’ve got the 50 boards clear you will no longer need to pay for fast travel in Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 5 takes place in the vast and exciting Mexico map .

Bonus boards in forza horizon 5, how to find every board, complete map of bonus boards.

There's so much to do and see! But you can really speed up the process of getting around Mexico if you collect all the bonus boards. Here's how to hunt them down.

Bonus boards have appeared in Forza Horizon games from the beginning. In Forza Horizon 5, there are two types. XP boards help you gain levels and earn wheelspins. While fast travel boards let you zip across the map without spending all of your credits.

We recommend prioritising finding all of the fast travel bonus boards as quickly as possible when you start playing Forza Horizon 5. You'll also want to make sure you buy the correct house to unlock fast travel in the first place!

One little-known tip for hunting for bonus boards is that the boards play music! If you turn your radio off in-game and listen carefully, you can hear when you're near a board. With headphones or a good sound system, you can tell precisely which direction the board is in and find it much quicker.

fh5 fast travel board

Every fast travel board reduces the cost of a fast travel by 200 credits, so finding all 50 will save you a lot! Especially if you have limited time to play the game and so fast travel often. It's worth looking in hard-to-reach locations. Boards can be on top of buildings, or hidden under bridges. You can use drone mode to scout out locations faster than driving to tricky spots. If you want to see exactly where they all are, read on!

It makes sense to prioritise finding the fast travel boards. There are fewer of them than XP boards and the reward is very useful early in the game. Here's every fast travel board on the map:

The XP boards are useful too. They help you earn levels which gives you wheelspins. More wheelspins means more money and more cars! Here's where they all are.

Forza Horizon 5: Tips For Finding Or Collecting Fast Travel And XP Boards

We've got a few tips for collecting Fast Travel & XP Boards in Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 5 has taken millions of gamers on a thrilling adventure through Mexico. The game received both critical and commercial success and fans can't get enough of the premier Xbox driving franchise from Playground Games. The Forza Horizon series features large open-worlds that beg players to explore them.

RELATED: Forza Horizon 5: Best Sports Cars, Ranked

Whether it's the numerous events you can participate in or the collectibles sitting around every corner, there's always something to chase after. Speaking of collectibles, Fast Travel and XP boards can be found and smashed. The former reduces the cost to fast travel in the game, and the latter provides player experience. Here are a few tips for tracking them down.

5 Buy The Map

Forza Horizon 5 does feature a map that can be purchased with real money that showcases every collectible on the in-game map. Of course, there's no need to feel obligated to buy something you don't want or need — microtransactions can be a touchy subject, and these collectibles aren't impossibly hard to find. But if you have the spare change and don't mind, there's always this option.

RELATED: Forza Horizon 5: Best Off-Road Cars, Ranked

There's nothing wrong with casually hunting down XP and Fast Travel boards as you naturally progress through Forza Horizon 5 . The point is that if/when you do decide to start hunting down the boards you should consider buying the map as it will make everything so much easier. When it comes to the world of microtransactions, as long as it doesn't provide a competitive advantage, it really comes down to if you want to exchange money for time. Both hold high value in one's life so it's up to you to decide which one is easier to spend on a trivial task like smashing boards in Forza Horizon 5.

4 Use A Reference Image Or Video

Is it an obvious consideration? Maybe. But if you don't want to shell out the money for microtransaction maps, then you can simply look up a reference image or guide video that shows where all of the board locations are on the map. For those who still want the experience of figuring out how to get the boards without the frustration of simply finding them, this is a great way to meet in the middle and get the best of both worlds.

Some sites have large, high-quality interactive guide maps for games that are much better than a simple JPEG on Google Image Search. Alternatively, you could always hit YouTube if you need a more direct example. There's nothing wrong with getting a bit of guidance if you've encountered some frustration!

3 Change Your Vehicle

There are two primary reasons why you'll have to change your vehicle in order to smash specific XP and Fast Travel boards. The first is that some boards require fast vehicles in order to launch and get enough momentum to reach them. The other is that sometimes these boards are tucked away in small spaces between structures. This means you'll have to change to a smaller and more compact vehicle that can fit in those tight spaces.

2 Look For Nearby Ramps

When you come across a Fast Travel or XP board that seems to be in an unreachable location, that's when you need to get creative. All of them were placed with intention and design in mind, so it really comes down to finding the jumping point.

RELATED: Forza Horizon 5: Racing Games To Play If You Love The Series

Don't forget that the game also has a rewind feature, so once you find the launch point you can rewind and tweak your speed and direction in an effort to get the board as soon as possible. Many times the jump points will be obvious, but there are locations where you'll absolutely need a car with a lot of speed in order to fly far enough to have any chance of hitting the board.

1 Take Your Time & Find Them Naturally

The best bet is to, ultimately, find them over the course of progressing through the game rather than making it an immediate goal. Sure, the Fast Travel and XP boards help progress the experience for you, but rushing through just to complete it doesn't seem like something that will ultimately feel rewarding. If you happen to complete the game and are looking for additional ways to spend time with it, then it's best to leave some things on the map to enjoy when you simply feel like driving around Mexico.

If you want this to be an enjoyable experience then simply drive around the open world and organically come across both XP and Fast Travel boards as they pop up. Save the collectibles hunting for later on. This will allow you to both get the enjoyment of simply playing the game as it was intended, but then shifting focus towards completion when that becomes the apparent goal.

Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Boards Locations Guide

We will be discussing the Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Boards Locations in this guide to help you cut down on the travel costs.

Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Boards Locations

Traveling across Mexico can be a lot of fun in your supercar but Forza Horizon 5 allows you to quickly travel around key locations on the map using Fast Travel. We will be discussing the Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Boards Locations in this guide to help you cut down on the costs.

Forza Horizon 5 Fast Travel Boards Locations

Forza Horizon 5’s map is massive and Fast Travel costs you a tiny sum which can add up to a huge amount if you use it frequently.

To counter that and reduce the traveling costs you can either drive to any location on the map or destroy all the Fast Travel Boards on the map.

There are a total of 50 Fast Travel Boards spread across the whole map and destroying each one will reduce the cost required to Fast Travel. Once you destroy all 50 of them, fast travel becomes free.

Locating Fast Travel Boards

You can locate these boards on the map of Forza Horizon 5 by pulling out the map looking for the Bonus Board symbols. You can use the in-game filters and only tick the Bonus Boards to locate them faster. To use the filter menu, press the RB on your Xbox Controller or the PgDn button on your keyboard.

Among the bonus boards, you need to locate the ones with a lightning symbol next to them. Those are the Fast Travel Boards and all you need to do is set a waypoint to their location and drive-thru them to reduce your travel costs.

Each board you destroy, reduces the TP cost by 2%, and nabbing all of them reduces the travel cost by 100%. For this task, we recommend that you use an SUV as some of the fast travel boards require you to go off-roading.

FH5 Fast Travel Board Locations

Below are the locations of all 50 fast travel boards scattered across Mexico that you can destroy in FH5 to reduce your fast travel cost.

Fast Travel boards get marked on your map as you drive close to them so you can always visit the area later if you didn’t destroy them the first time. Alternatively, you can buy Treasure Maps from the Forza Horizon 5 store to mark all such Boards’ locations on the map including Fast Travel boards.

Forza Horizon games have always emphasized their expansive open worlds, making them as interesting as possible for the players racing through them. The decision for where a Forza Horizon game will be placed concludes early in development, and affects practically every aspect of the game, including the car list, soundtrack, story, characters, and the world-building details that make Forza Horizon games more authentic and real-feeling than many other titles.

For Forza Horizon 5, Playground Games wanted to build their largest and most diverse open world yet, which is why Forza Horizon 5 is located in Mexico . Initial rumors and community chatter suggested Forza Horizon 5 may arrive in either Mexico or Japan, but the more prevalent rumors prevailed and FH5 was confirmed to be heading back to North America, this time in Mexico.

Many in the community initially lamented this decision as an apparent "downgrade" from the possibilities contained within Japan, especially as many assumed Mexico to be primarily desert, but Forza Horizon 5 shirks all of these expectations. Mexico is a massive country, containing a myriad of different regions and ecosystems, and was the perfect locale for Playground to build its most varied world ever. Forza Horizon 5's rendition of Mexico features 11 distinct biomes, the highest point in any Forza Horizon game so far, dynamic and localized weather, the return of seasons, and several real-world locations recreated in-game, including cities and even ancient ruins.

This is in stark contrast to Forza Horizon 4, which was set in the United Kingdom. While incredible in its own right, FH4's open world came under fire from players for being too uniform. Despite featuring gorgeous British hamlets, rolling countrysides and fields, and plenty of natural landmarks, Forza Horizon 4 simply lacked variety when compared to its predecessor, which was exasperated by weather and seasons that applied to the entire map at once. With FH5, Playground refused to repeat the same mistakes.

You can see many of the environments featured in FH5 below.

Full map & size

Forza Horizon 5 Full Map Screenshot

If you haven't already jumped into Forza Horizon 5 and laid eyes on its vast map, you can view it in all its glory above. The above map shows FH5's rendition of Mexico during the Wet Season (or Summer), which covers the landscapes in humidity, lush green foliage soaking up the abundant water, and much more. You can see landmarks that dominate the landscape like La Gran Caldera (the volcano), or the massive stadium that houses countless EventLab creations.

Forza Horizon 5 Map Size Comparison Image

Unless you're familiar with Forza Horizon 4 and have driven the length of FH5's map, it can be difficult to tell for certain just how much larger the new title's world is compared to its predecessor. Thanks to @DonJoewonSong via Twitter , an influential member of the Forza Horizon community, players were able to get a rough approximation of the sheer difference in size even before Forza Horizon 5 properly launched. Forza Horizon 5 is approximately 50% bigger than FH4. Of course, FH5's diverse environments and landscapes mean the difference is even starker when you're driving in-game.

Forza Horizon 5 sees the return of Barn Finds from previous Forza Horizon titles, which lets players hunt down dilapidated barns in the wilderness to uncover lost and forgotten rare cars. There are 15 Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 5 , with many having specific unlock requirements before they appear on the map. Fortunately, we've found every single Barn Find and have outlined how to earn them yourself in the guide linked above.

Player Houses

Forza Horizon 5 Preview Screenshot

Forza Horizon 4 added Player Houses to the game, which gave players additional locations to customize their vehicles and fast travel. Players Houses are back in FH5, and are better than ever. There are seven Player Houses in Forza Horizon 5 , and each provides unique perks alongside differing unlock requirements and prices. We've detailed how to acquire every Player House in Forza Horizon 5 in the guide linked above.

Every Forza Horizon location

No two Forza Horizon games are alike, with Playground Games slowly exploring more locations across the globe with every iteration. Forza Horizon 5 ups the ante by being larger, more detailed, and more diverse than any Forza Horizon title that came before it, but that doesn't mean the older games are meaningless. For reference, here's where every Forza Horizon game so far has been located.

  • Forza Horizon : Colorado
  • Forza Horizon 2 : Southern Europe
  • Forza Horizon 3 : Australia
  • Forza Horizon 4 : United Kingdom
  • Forza Horizon 5 : Mexico

What is Horizon Adventure in Forza Horizon 5?

Forza Horizon 5 Horizon Adventure Map Screenshot

Forza Horizon 5 features a revamped campaign over its predecessors that grants players more choice than ever before, and more openly rewards players for progression through the game in their own way. All of this is done through Horizon Adventure, and chaptered story navigated through the fun map you can see above. Players earn Accolades by doing practically anything in Forza Horizon 5, including completing races, exploring the map, customizing cars, engaging with online content, and more.

Once you've earned enough Accolades, you progress to the next chapter of Horizon Adventure and can choose what you unlock next. You could unlock a new Expedition, for example, which lets you build a new Festival Site and in extension unlock a ton of new Race Events or PR Stunts. Horizon Adventure lets you expand the world of FH5 with tons of new content to explore, culminating in players reaching the coveted Hall of Fame.

You can see some of the Horizon Festival Sites features in Forza Horizon 5 (and unlocked through Horizon Adventure) below.

Does the world change over time in Forza Horizon 5?

Forza Horizon 5 Biome Screenshot Volcano

Forza Horizon games have always featured beautiful worlds, but they often feel very stale or unmoving. With Forza Horizon 4, Playground Games introduced seasons, which drastically altered the world over time. Even here, though, the seasons became predictable and stale after a while. So, Playground Games upped its game with Forza Horizon 5, and is committed to changing the world even more over time both through fundamental game design and future content updates. Here's what you need to know.

  • Seasons are much more diverse . Rather than blanket changes to the map, Forza Horizon 5's seasons alter the map to varying degrees depending on your location. For example, snow may appear on the volcano during Winter while the coast continues to remain warm and tropical. There are 11 different biomes and four different seasons, and they'll all interact with one another in different ways.
  • Dynamic weather events . Forza Horizon 5 also features dynamic weather events, such as sandstorms and tropical storms, which periodically appear and dramatically change the landscape. These weather events are dependent on the environment and season, so they won't always appear in the same place.
  • The Festival Playlist evolves the world . Arguably the most influential feature, the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist actually alters the world over time. As new Series Updates arrive, Playground Games can add decorations, PR Stunts, Race Events, new locations, and much more to FH5's map as part of holiday celebrations, temporary events, and more. The sky is the limit with the Festival Playlist.

Everything we know about the Blazing Thunder treasure chest in Forza Horizon 5

Here's the third (currently bugged) treasure chest, the first in Series 2.

forza horizon 5 treasure chest

Looking for the weekly treasure chest in Forza Horizon 5? There's already plenty to do in the latest Forza, whether that's looking for the fastest cars in Forza Horizon 5 or trying to track down all the elusive Barn Finds . And Forza's Series will add even more activities over the coming months.

Now that the holiday-themed Series 2 has kicked off, you can expect to find festive new challenges and rewards to unlock. Every so often we have a treasure chest to locate, and this guide will show you where to find the latest one. You can keep track of this and all your other seasonal challenges in the Accolades menu.

We've also included the details for previous chests even after they unavailable in-game, just in case they come back. So, here's the Forza Horizon 5 Blazing Thunder treasure chest location.

Current Forza Horizon 5 treasure chest location: Blazing Thunder (currently bugged)

The next clue reads: "Come as you are for a blazing trilogy across any trails." Hmm, cryptic.

More cryptic than Playground intended, it would seem. That's because the latest treasure chest seems to be bugged, with players on Reddit claiming that it's impossible to complete if you've already got three stars on all the Trailblazer challenges. This player had only completed one Trailblazer and they could see where the treasure chest pops up (check the map link above).

Then again, Phil told me that "there was definitely one [Trailblazer] I hadn't touched" and Blazing Thunder is still borked for him. Regardless, if you're experiencing issues with the latest treasure objective, know you're not alone. I'll update this guide when a fix turns up.

Complete the Danger Sign jump challenge with two or more stars. This is located just to the north of Mulege—if you're having trouble completing the challenge, try a car with lots of power and give yourself a big run up.

The chest is located in the Baja California region , just to the northwest of Mulege. You can check the map above if you're not sure where to look. Drive into the chest to claim your reward of 50,000 CR and a Wheelspin.

Hold Your Horses

Your latest treasure hunt clue is: "Earn ten stars from PR Stunts in any Mustang". We recommend the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2020 for speed traps and speed zones, or you could go for the Ford #25 Mustang RTR 2018 for drift zones.

If those are the stunts you fancy doing, you can use the map filter so you can just see these on your mini-map nice and clearly. You can then revisit the map and hover over the stunt to see check how many stars you've been awarded.

Once you've got the requisite stars, you're good to track down the chest—as you can see in the screenshots above, it's near the highway, south of El Estadio Horizon . You'll get 50,000 CR for your troubles.
