10 Hidden Gems To Discover In Lonavala

10 unexplored wonders in lonavala for the curious traveller.

Nestled inside the Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra, a hill station called Lonavala has always been popular among tourists as it is a monsoon getaway from Mumbai and Pune. However, they only visit their well-known sights. If you go beyond that and past the places where everyone takes selfies, you'll find hidden gems in nature. These ancient spiritual sites offer scenic viewpoints that are perfect for exploration.

Join me while I show you these 10 hidden treasures for yourself so you can see firsthand what irresistible old-world charm feels like.

1. Lion's Point

Just six kilometers ahead on the Mumbai-Pune highway is Lion's Point. Some say this place is actually named after a stone sculpture of a lion overlooking the hilltop view of green hills and valleys covered in mist.

If you arrive early enough to catch the sunrise, then you'll get to see everything turn gold with the morning's first light. This vantage point also offers fantastic opportunities to witness stars lighting up the sky at night. Once monsoon season ends, Tamhini Ghat will be so green it might feel surreal.

Lion's point gives breathtakingly beautiful birdseye views of Bhushi Dam and Shiv Sagar Lake without having to bump into people every two seconds trying to take their "perfect selfie."
