Officially dubbed as “Utopia Tour Presents Circus Maximus,” Scott kicks off his new tour in support of his new album on October at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it runs through the fall and winter with dates scheduled in Dallas, Texas, Chicago, and Vegas. Inspired by his record-breaking No.1 album UTOPIA, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA – Circus Maximus Tour will transport fans into an unparalleled audiovisual experience. The tour will include Travis Scott’s largest headline show to date with a show at SoFi Stadium on November 5, 2023.

Travis Scott Officially Announces 2023 Utopia - Circus Maximus Tour

Travis Scott has announced a 2023 North American tour. Dubbed the Utopia - Circus Maximus Tour, the trek will take place this fall, beginning in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 11 and ending on December 29 in Toronto, Ontario. These dates vary from the ones Live Nation leaked earlier this month before deleting its social media post and ticket pages for the tour. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time. Scott had initially planned a concert in Houston, but that date does not appear in the itinerary. A spokesperson for the city’s mayor told Rolling Stone that “at one point” the show had been planned and the mayor’s office communicated with Toyota Center to coordinate a safety plan. The fate of that show is unclear.

A spokesperson for the mayor told Rolling Stone Tuesday that “at one point” both the Toyota Center and Live Nation had notified the City of Houston that Scott planned to perform in the city. “Our public safety leaders and special events subject matter experts decided to communicate with the Toyota Center and coordinate on a safety plan,” the spokesperson said. Sylvester Turner originally said earlier this month that Scott had “booked the Toyota Center for a concert in October.”

A spokesperson for the mayor told Rolling Stone Tuesday that “at one point” both the Toyota Center and Live Nation had notified the City of Houston that Scott planned to perform in the city. “Our public safety leaders and special events subject matter experts decided to communicate with the Toyota Center and coordinate on a safety plan,” the spokesperson said.

At the start of August, Scott performed at Rome’s Circus Maximus , doing several Utopia songs and hosting a surprise appearance from Kanye West. His show caused the ground to shake so much that locals feared there was an earthquake , causing calls for a concert ban at the historic venue in the future.

The Utopia - Circus Maximus Tour will be the rapper’s first headlining tour since the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy , which resulted in 10 deaths and countless injuries. In late July, the Houston Police Department shared an extensive report on the event, in which Scott recalled being told through his earpiece, “You got to wrap it up, it’s getting kinda hectic out there.” He claimed that he was not made aware of the gravity of the situation until later.

Prior to the police report, a Harris County grand jury determined that Scott will not be criminally charged for the event’s happenings. Both Scott and Live Nation still face several civil lawsuits relating to Astroworld, although a few have already been settled .

Resale value of Travis Scott concert tickets has plummeted due to low demand

Travis Scott is set to launch his "Utopia-Circus Maximus Tour " on Oct. 11 with 40 arena concerts scheduled. This marks his first official tour since the tragedy at Astroworld in 2021. However, reports suggest that ticket sales have been sluggish, indicating a low demand for the show.

Jason Koebler of 404 Media reports that scalpers are finding it difficult to sell tickets for Travis Scott's "Utopia - Circus Maximus" tour on secondary markets. Koebler provided a link to the StubHub page for Scott's Raleigh show, where the cheapest tickets are currently priced at $14, less than a quarter of their $61.50 face value on Ticketmaster.

Tickets initially sold out after going on sale on Aug. 31, but Scott added more dates. The first-round sale offered tickets starting at $65 plus fees.

Due to decreased demand, show tickets are now available for as little as $10 in some locations. Scott will perform in New York City at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Dec. 18th and 19th, with tickets starting at $59, which is a steal for a concert in the Big Apple.

When Scott visits Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, tickets can be purchased for as low as $34. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, StubHub is selling tickets for $16.

Last month, there was a rush to buy tickets for the "Utopia - Circus Maximus" concert, which sold out almost instantly. According to Koebler, PFS Buyers Club, a website that typically buys rare U.S. Mint coins, has shifted its focus to buying tickets for popular concerts. It is possible that the PFS Buyers Club played a role in causing the initial buying frenzy.

"Ticket resellers leverage the credit card point maximizing community to create a human ticket-buying botnet allowing them yet another way to bypass Ticketmaster's ticket-buying limits and hoard tickets to resell at high prices while regular fans get left in the dust," Koebler shared.

It has come to light that resellers who invested in the tour now face the possibility of losing out on hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. One buyer told Koeber that he purchased 123 tickets across several cities, spending a total of over $36,000. PFS promised a $25 commission to its members, but it has since gone back on its word and expressed that the website may suffer a significant financial loss.

Ticketmaster has been criticized for its lack of protection against predatory scalping and controversial practices, including "dynamic ticketing" fees. This issue gained attention after Taylor Swift's Eras tour caused the site to crash in November 2020, leading to multiple lawsuits by angry fans. The matter has also triggered an ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice into Ticketmaster's 2010 merger with Live Nation.

Ticket scalping , also known as ticket touting or ticket reselling, is the practice of using automated software (bots) to purchase large quantities of tickets for events from licensed sources, with the goal of reselling them at a higher price. This practice often targets popular sports and music events.

Scalper bots make up 40% of online ticket purchases, buying tickets with automated software to resell them at a higher price, as found in a study of 180 ticketing websites by Imperva .

Astroworld tragedy in 2021

On Nov. 5, 2021, Scott's Astroworld music festival turned deadly in his hometown of Houston, Texas, where eight people died. The crowd surge pushed concertgoers towards the stage, crushing and trampling fans.

Following the incident, Scott and the promoter, Live Nation Entertainment, have faced multiple lawsuits and a criminal investigation.

Houston Fire officials maintained an 11-page log on the night of the festival. USA TODAY exclusively revealed its contents on Nov. 11. The log details how the festival started with crowds rushing over barricades and how things escalated into chaos. It also documents the response of police, paramedics, and other officials to the growing crisis.

I was beyond excited for this show! I heard it was supposed to be visually stunning so I was prepared for some high quality views. It was a lot of fun but I have to say, I think my expectations may have been too high. The roller coaster type set up was really fun to watch and the overall lighting and video playing during the show was really cool. Sound on the other hand was rough. In a big arena, sound usually isn't an issue so I think it may have had something to do with Scott's performance. At times it was really hard to tell which song he was singing or where he was at in the song. When he talked to the audience it was super hard to tell what he was saying. Again, I'm not totally positive what was at fault here. We were also disappointed that the big screen wasn't playing the live show, only two smaller screens on the sides that we couldn't see. All in all it was a cool show, but I would probably read more reviews before going to another!

Every and any opportunity to go to a Travis Scott concert and see him perform should be taken because the man and his shows are LEGENDARY. General admission shows are cool, but there are so many people that make it somewhat difficult to fully enjoy but that is just part of the experience. If it gets difficult to breathe or there is something wrong though, people will help you and the security is usually very attentive. LA FLAME IS A LEGEND AND HIS PERFORMANCES ARE TO DIE FOR!!!!

Travis Scott UTOPIA - Circus Maximus Tour

RESCHEDULED DATE: Travis Scott Utopia Tour Presents Circus Maximus scheduled for December 15, 2023, has been rescheduled to January 3, 2024.   All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. For any questions regarding refunds, please check with your point of purchase.

Two dollars from every ticket sold will go to Cactus Jack Foundation which is a 501(c)3 with a mission to uplift Houston youth through toy drives, scholarship programs to HBCU college students, and fulfilling expenses for education and creative endeavors.

UTOPIA has been deemed the biggest hip-hop release of 2023, holding strong at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 for four weeks running, and garnering over 1.5 billion streams globally. Additionally, Spotify named UTOPIA the most streamed album in its first week in 2023, and Apple Music confirmed the biggest first day streams of an album in 2023.

UTOPIA finds Travis Scott at the height of his powers as a performer, songwriter, producer, and collaborator proving once again that nobody sounds like Travis. It continues to enshrine him as the culture’s foremost sonic innovator, and has been heralded as ‘album of the decade’.

*Notice: The use of strobes, laser, haze, and pyro will be used throughout the performance.

*To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, please remain in your ticketed location. Those who do not comply will be ejected immediately. Only guests with General Admission wristbands can access the floor.

The following approved process will be implemented at the United Center for the General Admission (GA) pit:

• WRISTBAND DISTRIBUTION TIMES: At 9 a.m. on show day, guests will receive a numbered wristband. This represents the order they will be lined up in to access the GA area. Numbered wristbands will be distributed until 4:30 pm.
• WHO NEEDS A NUMBERED WRISTBAND:  Please note that numbered wristbands are only required if a guest would prefer to have first access to the standing room floor. A numbered wristband is not needed if a guest doesn't have a preference on where they will stand on the floor.
• LOCATION: Fans will only receive wristbands from a credentialed United Center security employee at Gate 5.
• LEAVING PRIVILEGES: Once the wristband is received, guests are free to leave and return to Gate 5 no later than 4:30 p.m.
• RETURNING TIME: All guests with a wristband must return to the United Center and be lined up in order by 4:30 p.m. to have wristband number honored.
• LATE ARRIVAL: If a guest with a numbered wristband arrives after 4:30 p.m., the guest will be placed in line after the last guest in line. Guests without wristbands arriving after 4:30 pm will also be placed in line after the last guest in line.
• ONE PROCESS: This is the only process approved for GA entry. No additional arrangements can be honored at this time.

**Please note- you must have your ticket to obtain a wristband and only one wristband per person.

** All guests with general admission tickets must enter though Gate 5.

Take I-90 East to the Madison Street exit and make a right onto Madison Street. The building will be on your left.

Take I-55 North to the Damen exit and make a left, going northbound for approximately 7 minutes. The building will be on your right.

Take Madison Street west from the Loop.

Take I-290 East to exit 28A (Damen Avenue). Take Damen Avenue north to Madison Street. Make a right onto Madison Street and the building will be on your right.

Public Transportation

Take the Orange, Green, Purple, or Brown lines to Madison. Take #20 Madison buses west.

To the United Center : The #19 United Center Express Bus runs on game days. Service begins 90 minutes prior to game time, runs every 10 minutes until 30 minutes until start of game. Board at stops starting southbound on Michigan and Randolph. Connections are made with Metra trains at Millennium Station, Ogilvie Center and Union Station. The #20 Madison Bus travels west on Madison Street, starting downtown at Wabash Street and runs every few minutes, making all stops to the United Center.

From the United Center : The #19 United Center Express and the #20 Madison buses run every few minutes, departing from the eastbound side of Madison Street. Buses make all stops.

General Parking

PLEASE NOTE: Parking lots and Uber lot open to public two and a half hours prior to event time.

All major credit cards accepted. The United Center offers free parking for select family shows in all official United Center parking lots. All Parking Policies outlined below remain in effect.

EV Charging Stations EV Charging Stations are available in Lot H and Lot K. Charging is free. Please be courteous and maintain parking/charging for the posted time limits. 

Parking Policies No in/out privileges. No overnight parking unless related to event activites and approved in advance. No solicitation allowed. No consumption of alcoholic beverages on lot or in parked vehicles. No tailgating or similar activities.

Fans visiting the United Center can also reserve their parking in advance via  Ticketmaster .

Suites Parking

Two reserved parking passes will be valid in lots C and K. The other two reserved parking passes will be for parking in lots A, B, D, or L. Holders of these passes will be directed to A, B, D, or L lots by traffic police and parking attendants based on traffic conditions. Parking passes are good for one space each. All parking passes are mobile entry only.

For all special events, each Executive Suite Holder will receive two complimentary parking passes per event ordered. These two passes will be for reserved parking located in lots C and K. In addition, Executive Suite Holders will also receive the option to purchase four additional parking passes in lots C and K for special events.

Suite Holder parking passes are also valid for buses or limousines under specific guidelines.

Lexus Club Parking

Lexus Club Seat members have reserved parking in fenced, well-lit and clearly marked parking lots adjacent to the United Center for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. All Lexus Club members who purchase tickets to other events may also purchase one preferred parking pass (in lot C or K) for such events. Details on how to obtain parking for other events are included with the fax transmission announcing each event.

Lexus Club Seat members with two to four tickets receive a complimentary, reserved parking space in a closed-in, paved lot for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. Lexus Club Seat members with five seats or more will be provided with two parking passes.

UBER ZONE FAQs:

What is the Uber Zone (Lot E) at the United Center? To increase and streamline the fan experience for guests who take Uber to and from the United Center, the new Uber Zone is located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street (Lot E) and will combine the three former Uber locations around the arena. Traffic leading to the three prior Uber pickup locations 1) Zone A, previously located on Wood Street & Washington Blvd. near Lot A, 2) Zone D, previously located on Monroe Street & S. Paulina Street near Lot D and 3) Zone F, previously located on Monroe Street & Seeley Ave. near Lot F will now be directed towards the one new Uber Zone in Lot E.

What is the location of the Uber Zone? The new Uber Zone at the United Center is located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Fans will enter and exit through the sidewalk entrance located on Madison Street and cars will enter the lot by turning into the Uber Zone from Madison Street. Cars will exit on Warren Blvd.

What are the hours of operation? On event days, the Uber Zone is open two hours prior to games, concerts and events and will remain open up to one hour after each event. On non-event days, the Uber Zone will be closed and Uber rides will be dropped off near the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street outside of the Uber Zone.

What is the pickup process for fans?

• Using the Uber app, fans inside the United Center will call an Uber ride.
• Guests will then head to the new Uber Zone located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street in front of the United Center.
• When arriving, fans will show the Uber attendant the lane number their driver is in.
• Fans will be shown the location where their Uber vehicle is located to start their next journey.

What is the dropoff process for fans? When Uber drivers arrive with guests at the United Center, they will be instructed to pull into the Uber Zone from the Madison Street side to drop off fans. Once exiting the vehicle, guests will walk out of the main entrance located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Guests can cross the street to the United Center and are encouraged to enter through the East Atrium.

Travis Scott is back.

Two years after his tragic Astroworld incident, the 32-year-old rapper will tour arenas and stadiums all over North America this fall as part of his 28-concert ‘Utopia Presents Circus Maximus Tour.’

That includes a huge show at East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on Friday, Sept. 29.

“I miss the road, I miss y’all,” [sic] the “SICKO MODE” star shared on Instagram .

The tour announcement comes on the heels of the release of Scott’s fourth studio album “Utopia” which hit number one on the Billboard 200 in its first week and features big-name artists like Beyoncé , Drake , Playboi Carti , The Weeknd , SZA and more.
