Full list of the British Travel Awards winners for 2021/2022 including TUI, Jet2, Fred Olsen, P&O Cruises, Shearings and more - as voted for by the public

UK travellers are snapping up no-fly holidays and there were golds galore for tour firms at the 2022 travel ‘Oscars’ - held at London's Battersea Evolution centre and hosted by TV presenter Alison Hammond .

The British Travel Awards (BTA) gala evening followed a July-October public vote in 62 categories covering a comprehensive range of products and services experienced by customers when planning, booking and going on their getaways.

It attracted more than 618,000 entries and is regarded as the the travel industry’s leading awards, plus it is the UK’s largest consumer voted programme.

Escorted coach tour company Shearings picked up four golds in the large company category, including Best Travel Company for Escorted Group Holidays, for which there were 25 businesses nominated. Shearings’ sister coach holiday company, Leger Holidays, collected three golds in the medium category.

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines won the award for Best Cruise Line for No-Fly Holidays.

Staying on the water, Brittany Ferries triumphed with four awards for their services to Central/Western Europe, Southern Europe/Canaries, Best Ferry Operator for Routes from/to UK Ports and Best Travel Company for Family Holidays.

The coveted Best Cruise Line for Ocean/Expedition voyages was awarded to Norwegian with P&O Cruises winning the Best Cruise Line for Family Holidays. Hays Travel was awarded Best Travel Agency for Cruise Bookings.

BTA director of events and partnerships Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “Both in the UK and abroad this year our voters were determined to have their holidays, despite a few airport and airline issues.’’

All BTA public voters were entered in a draw for a holiday prize bonanza worth around £45,000, with cruises, tropical sunshine trips, a safari, staycations and more given away in a draw.

Haven Holidays takes the win at the British Travel Awards 2022

Following an incredibly successful 2022, Haven wins the award for Best Family Holiday Company

Leading UK holiday company Haven have been announced winners in the Best Company for UK Family Holidays category, taking home Gold at the esteemed British Travel Awards 2022. 

Haven is the largest UK caravan operator with 41 holiday parks and 2.5 million visitors a year. The announcement was made on 29 November at a star-studded Gala Awards ceremony held in London. Hosted by TV presenter Alison Hammond in front of a huge audience of guests and nominees, including some of the UK’s top travel editors, Haven was amongst some of the biggest travel companies in the UK.  

BTA director of events and partnerships, Lorraine Barnes Burton, said: “The British Travel Awards are the largest travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the consumer, and the Awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling public. Travel companies have had a tough time during the pandemic, but it is wonderful to be back travelling again and receiving a British Travel Award heralds a promising start to 2023. Understandably, votes were up by 158% on the 2020 voting figures, showing that consumers really missed travelling, and are keen to have their say when it comes to those all-important holidays.”  

The BTA gala evening followed a July-October public vote in 62 categories covering a comprehensive range of products and services experienced by customers when planning, booking and going on holiday. The Hemel Hempstead based travel company operates 41 holiday parks around the British coast and is celebrating the award following taking the crown for the ‘Best Family Holiday Company’ in 2017 and 2018.

Travolution Awards 2022: Winners announced at annual ceremony

More than 400 people from the online travel and technology sectors gather in London for the event last night

The winners of the Travolution Awards 2022 were announced last night with Expedia for Business president Ariane Gorin receiving the night’s top individual accolade.

The London-based board level executive received the Travolution Achievement Award. She has worked for Expedia for the last decade, is an advocate for female leaders at the global OTA and has been the driving force behind the growth of the company's B2B division.

Gorin collected her award at the culmination of the annual award ceremony in London that saw the return of consumer voted awards sponsored by icellolly.com and TravelSupermarket parent Ice Travel Group.

Elliot Wright, head of software engineering at Ice Travel Group, took home one of the night’s other individual awards when he was named Rising Star of the Year.

OTA On The Beach was named Brand of the Year for 2022 while easyJet Holidays was Rising Brand of the Year. EasyJet Holidays also won the award for Best Travel Retailer and was voted the winner of the Ice Travel Group Impact Award for Making a Difference with its commitment to sustainability.

Other multiple winners on the night included Travel Ledger which won the Start-Up of the Year award and the award for Best Technology Product.

Etihad scooped the award for Best Use of Artificial Intelligence for its work with BD4 and also won the Best for Flying award in the Trade and Intermediary category.

The awards saw 400 people gather in the London Hilton Bankside in London for the annual celebration of the best talent and achievement in the digital travel and technology sectors.
