The Best Christian Travel Group Companies: A Review

Updated: Mar 11

Planning a faith-based trip with a group can be a powerful way to connect with fellow believers and enrich your walk with God. But with so many Christian travel companies to choose from, how do you decide?

In this blog, we'll review over 10 popular Christian travel group providers so you can determine the best fit for your next adventure!

The Best Christian Travel Companies A Review

Factors For Comparing Christian Travel Groups

As Christian professionals in our 20s and 30s with limited vacation time, we sought budget-friendly travel opportunities to connect with like-minded believers. We compared Christian travel companies across these key factors:

Cost : How budget-friendly their travel options are

Audience : How well they catered to individuals in their 20s-30s

Experience : How much variety of travel length options were to adapt to different amounts of work availability

Destinations : Whether their destinations included leisure travel opportunities

Group Customization / Flexibility : How easy it is to make a customized trip with friends

Convenience : Depending on the business, the amount of things included and how streamlined the booking process is

Activities and Experiences : How many different types of travel styles are accommodated

Social Aspects : The company's level of emphasis on Christian fellowship

Faith : How much of the trip planning emphasizes Christian Bible studies, tour guides, and worship services

This overview of popular Christian travel companies was based primarily on an analysis of their websites, as we have not personally traveled with each provider. We aim to provide a helpful tool for comparing travel options through a Christian lens. Keep in mind, websites only tell part of the story - actual experiences may vary.

While we are thankful for the many organizations catering to faith-based travel, no single group will be the perfect fit for everyone. We hope these summaries offer a starting point to explore what Christian travel providers may align best with your travel interests, budget, and desire for spiritual community.

Christian Travelers Network Logo

Overall : 9.7 | Cost:  10 | Audience : 10 | Experience : 10 | Destinations : 10 | Customization:  10 | Convenience:  9 | Activities:  10 | Social:  10 | Faith:  9

Cost : membership is $15 annually, plus splitting the cost of any group activities

Audience : You must be at least 18 years old to join the platform, although it is largely designed for young professionals between 25-35 years old

Experience : This platform is for the DIY Christian traveler looking to connect with like minded believers on adventures you are already planning or join the adventures of others.

Destinations : Anywhere in the world

Group Customization/ Flexibilit y: Because these aren't professionally organized tours, you and your group are in charge of how and when you want to explore God's creation! The platform makes it easy to share your trips plans, invite others on your trip, and promotes it to other members on the site.

Convenience : Unlike tours that predetermine where you will stay and what you will eat, you have the ability to make each adventure what you want. With the help of chat features, fellow travelers can easily give their input.

Activities and Experiences : God made each person's travel interests unique, and this platform excellently reflects that. You can create personalized trips and communities that reflect any of your interests from: active and adventurous, beach and island getaways, camping/nature, family vacation, luxury, multi-country, rail travel, retreats, road trips, cruises, small group tours, and more. And if your travel interest isn't listed there, Christian Travelers' Network asks that you message them so they can add it!

Social Aspects : The platform is designed to help to make it easy to make new Christian friends - whether that's sending friend quests, messaging people through the chat function, joining communities, or trips - there's a way for everyone to connect with like-minded believers.

Faith : Unlike other companies that determine what your worship adventure will look like, your trip and community are encouraged to set the tone. If you choose to organize and trip or community, you are encouraged to pick a Biblical theme or topic. If you join a trip or community, you are encouraged to share your faith with members and connect with your leader to help enhance opportunities to grow in your relationship with God and with others.

Christian Travelers' Network is an excellent way for the frugal Christian traveler who wants to explore God's creation while also connecting with other believers. Rather than being confined to a tour group with pre-determined itineraries and budgets, this platform allows Christians to build and join excursions tailored to their travel interests and budget.

Trip organizers do not profit from planning trips, but rather split the cost of any shared expenses with the group, keeping costs realistic rather than inflated. With an annual membership of only $15, this platform is a great way to be a good steward of your money.

Unlike other travel groups whose destinations are limited to one particular area, the options are as vast and numerous as the travelers on the platform. In doing so, Christian Travelers' Network celebrates the diversity not only of the people God created, but also the richness and beauty of the landscapes He created. Members with diverse travel interests can thus share their experiences, interact with like-minded travelers, and glorify the Lord!

Thus, Christian Travelers' Network is rated at a 9.7.

Faith Travel

Faith Travel Co Logo

Overall : 8.6 | Cost:  8 | Audience : 7 | Experience : 10 | Destinations : 10 | Customization:  - | Convenience:  10 | Activities:  10 | Social:  7 | Faith:  7

Cost : $0 to use their site, but then a cost to join the tour group

Audience : all ages

Experience : Their website provides a place for different Christian tour companies to list their tours in one portal, making it easier for Christians to find the adventure that best suits them.

Destinations : Anywhere tours are offered

Convenience : Information is all in one place and clearly lists what each trip offers (flights, accommodations, meals, sight seeing, Christian tour leader, Christian fellowship, cost, etc.)

Activities and Experiences : Any that are currently offered

Social Aspects : Faith Travel's goal is to help you travel the world in the company of like-minded people. However, while all tours are Christian based, the level of focus on Christian fellowship depends on the tour operator.

Faith : All trips listed on the site have a Christian tour guide and are offered by Christian tours

Unlike some of the other Christian travel groups that were reviewed, Faith Travel is a free tool designed to help you find tours operated by other Christians. I found this to be a very unique concept and a great way to do initial research on different Christian tours. Each tour conveniently listed what I could expect in terms of Christian tour guides, accommodations, etc.

The only real downside, is that while it is free to use, you ultimately do end up spending money on the tour - and while many Christian tours are listed, you still need to do additional research about each tour company to determine how much emphasis is placed on Christian fellowship during the trip. Additionally, it's parent company was down I researched them, so I am concerned about the longevity of this platform.

The overall rating for Faith Travel is 8.6.

Christian Fellowship Tours Logo

Overall : 8.3 | Cost:  4 | Audience : 7 | Experience : 10 | Destinations : 6 | Customization:  9 | Convenience:  9 | Activities:  10 | Social:  10 | Faith:  10

Cost : $4200 - $24800, with flights included if applicable

Audience : All ages with family options

Experience : 5-36 day tours focused on Christian camaraderie that can be leisure, adventure or a faith journey through Biblical lands. All trips have some sort of social impact.

Destinations : Leisurely destinations in Australia, South Pacific, Portugal, Spain, France, along with tours to lands of the Bible

Group Customization/ Flexibility : Willing to help with customization of group itineraries and provides a tour guide, tailor to your groups needs, but no minimum number of participants for a group was listed.

Convenience : Packages include flights, accommodations, meals, tour guides, etc.

Activities and Experiences : There are options for every kind of traveler including: island time, rainforest retreats, Christian heritage, Christian pilgrimages, land of the Bible, etc.

Social Aspects:  Christian fellowship is their primary focus of their trips

Faith : all holidays have a Christian tour leader for escort, offer daily devotions and Sunday worship

Overall, Christian Fellowship Tours seems to be an amazing travel company that puts a high emphasis on helping Christians connect with each other and with God through experiences. If you are looking for a tour experience, they offer quite a wide variety of options from travel time to experience type. They also put a large emphasis on fellowship, worship, and Christ tour guides which I highly respect.

The areas where they fall lowest are cost and destinations. While I really respect that they include flights into the cost of their itineraries, their destinations are more touristy driving up the cost. Additionally, they are focused largely in the South Pacific and the Holy Lands, limiting your travel destinations if you are looking for a broader look at options.

Their overall rating for is 8.3.

Burke Christian Tours Logo

Overall : 7.5 | Cost:  5 | Audience : 7 | Experience : 9 | Destinations : 6 | Customization:  3 | Convenience:  9 | Activities:  10 | Social:  9 | Faith:  10

Cost : $160 to $8000 per person

Audience : Multi-generational groups

Experience : 1-15 day motorcoach tours. Most months offer over 20 different tour options to pick from!

Destinations : North America, some international and cruises

Group Customization/ Flexibility : If your group has over 30+ people they help build a tour based on your group's destination and specifications

Convenience : Transport, hotels, attractions, meals included in packages

Activities and Experiences : They have all different kinds of travel options from Christian-focused experiences (visiting the Ark Encounter in KY) to more destination-focused experiences (Christmas lights, cruises in Europe, visiting National parks, the US capital, etc.), and mystery tours!

Social Aspects : Their vision is to bring together Christian people to tour with what we assume were Christian tour guides

Faith : Trips specifically include attending Church on Sundays, having Bible Study each day of the week, and having Sunday School while in transit (usually) on Sundays.

In reviewing Burke Christian tours , what stood out was the diversity of activities and plethora of choices. With over 20 tours a month going to National Parks, cruises, music concerts, and Christian destinations like Sight and Sound and Ark Encounter - it has something for everyone. Their prices seem reasonable for motorcoach tours and their tour guides were raved about. We also loved their emphasis on intentionally incorporating Christian devotionals and worship time in their tours.

On the other hand, while they do have some international trips, they have a wider selection of tours in North America, making it a little limiting for those who want a broader travel experience. Also, compared to other travel companies the number of people needed in your group to create a custom group trip was rather high, with a minimum of 30 people.

All in all, this is a wonderful tour company and we have rated it a 7.5.

Pilgrim Tours Logo

Overall : 7.2 | Cost:  7 | Audience : 9 | Experience : 8 | Destinations : 5 | Customization:  8 | Convenience:  7 | Activities:  7 | Social:  7| Faith:  7

Cost : not all prices were listed, but noted pricing from $2500 - $7600

Audience : no age unspecified, but no family trips listed so assume it is largely meant for adults

Experience : 5-22 Day Tours, bringing Evangelical Protestants together to places of Biblical and Christian historical significance, tracing the heritage of different denominations, as well as leisure tours.

Destinations : Israel, Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Costa Rica, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, US, and Canada

Group Customization/Flexibility : They offer discount for parties of 6 or more. Individuals wishing to lead a tour will receive assistance with customizing their trip and promotional materials

Convenience : Packages include breakfast, dinner, lodging, travel, and sightseeing. Options to book airfare are available at an additional cost.

Activities and Experiences : Their trips largely focus around touring places of historical and Biblical significance as well as tracing Christian heritage in different countries, but there are also cruises and tours for unique destinations like Hawaii and Alaska.

Social Aspects : while largely advertised to all Evangelical Christians some of the tours on their website specifically fall under the "Christian Tours" category, implying that others may not be as narrowly focused on believers.

Faith : Most but not all tour guides are Christians, though all tour guides are familiar with the company's Evangelical Protestant/ Baptist testimony. Trip devotional leaders present encouragement from this perspective.

In reviewing Pilgrim Tours , we felt like this was sort of an average tour company. While they provide some leisure travel, they are primarily focused on places of historical significance to the Christian faith. I appreciated that they take Christianity into account with devotionals, but not all of their tour guides are Christian, which makes me question if the tours themselves are more focused on learning facts than a relationship with God. (Not to say that it's impossible for it to be both.)

Their biggest strength was their customization of group trips for smaller groups, helping them to achieve their travel goals. Their other strength was the variety of travel time with options for both short and long travel trips.

Thus we gave them an overall rating of 7.2.

Living Passages Logo

Overall : 7.1 | Cost:  5 | Audience : 7 | Experience : 7 | Destinations : 5 | Customization:  5 | Convenience:  10 | Activities:  6 | Social:  10 | Faith:  9

Cost: $4000 - $10,600

Audience : All ages with family trip options

Experience : 7 - 18 day tours and cruises with groups of 15-40 people. Their primary focus is taking you to destinations that brings the bible to life, with the top scholars in biblical archaeology and history, luxury hotels, cultural food experiences.

Destinations : Greece, Italy, Scotland, Germany, England, Egypt, Ethiopia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraqi Kurdistan, South Africa and the Grand Canyon

Group Customization/ Flexibility : They'll help you create a custom tour if you have 25+ people for a bus tour or 18+ people for a ship based tour.

Convenience : Packages come with bookings, connections, flights, lodging, and most meals. They can even help people plan their solo trips, though often more expensive.

Activities and Experiences : archaeological explorations, safaris, yacht cruises through Biblically significant places

Social Aspects : They emphasize making friends and fellowship with other Christians

Faith : Tours are led by teachers of the Bible with an in-depth Bible study at each stop.

Living Passages puts a high emphasis on bringing together Christian community on their trips. On their website, they said you could expect Bible studies at every destination and Christian leaders to help bring the Bible to life of every trip. This paired with their emphasis on bringing Christians together with fellowship piqued my interest, though it is worth noting that they specifically advertise towards Berean (protestant Christians.)

Their destinations are specifically focused on areas of biblical and Christian historical significance, thus if you are looking for a vast array of travel options or leisurely experiences they are semi-lacking. That said, their website made it clear that to distinguish themselves from different Christian tours they put a high emphasis on luxury experiences, and unique explorations (Safari's archaeological explorations, yacht cruises, etc.) They also are willing to help individuals plan their custom trips, but groups are required to have a rather larger number of people to qualify for custom trip creation.

All in all, they seem to be a decent travel group with a high emphasis on community, luxury, and Christian history. Thus, we rated them at 7.1.

Maranatha Tours Logo

Overall : 6.1 | Cost:  6 | Audience : 8 | Experience : 9 | Destinations : 3 | Customization:  - | Convenience:  9 | Activities:  4| Social:  4 | Faith:  6

Cost : $3300 - $6000

Audience : unknown, though felt more adult-driven

Experience : 2-14 day tours to visit places in places from the Bible or Christian history. Some tour experiences are with particular Christian influencers.

Destinations : Italy, Greece, Germany, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Ireland,

Group Customization/ Flexibility : unknown

Convenience : Packages have all-inclusive options, handpicked hotels, meals (excluding lunch), flights, transport, etc.

Activities and Experiences : Tours of holy land

Social Aspects : Christian audience assumed

Faith : Biblical tour guides have full knowledge of both the Old and New Testament, no mention of church or bible studies

What makes Maranatha Tours unique are their Christian tour guides and their custom tours. Custom tours give you the potential to travel with Christian influencers (podcasters, Pastors, etc.) They also have a decent amount of flexibility with trip length as trips range from two days to two weeks.

On the other hand, they have a narrow focus on places from the Bible or Christian history, thus not having tours directed at leisure travel and only a few destination options. Compared to other platforms, their website was vague in terms of the emphasis on Christian fellowship, devotionals, or worship while traveling.

With that in mind, they received a 6.1 rating.

American Christian Tours Logo

Overall : 6 | Cost:  - | Audience : 3 | Experience : 6 | Destinations : 3 | Customization:  5 | Convenience:  9 | Activities:  4 | Social:  - | Faith:  6

Cost : unknown

Audience : students

Experience : Customized educational travel programs for all students from a Christian perspective. Their focus is on teaching His story through history and travel. They aim to make a difference by bringing up world changers, teaching historical truths, and imparting personal responsibility to communities and the world.

Destinations : California, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Arizona, Ark Encounter, Jamestown, Chicago and Springfield, IL

Group Customization/ Flexibility : Groups require a minimum group size of 20 people.

Convenience : Packages include hotels, medical services, meal packages, tour leaders, admission fees, etc.

Activities and Experiences : Historic Christian Tours in the United States.

Social : Travel with your school peers

Faith : Godly focus in the presentation of historic materials.

American Christian Tours is excellent for Christian educators and students in the United States who want to organize a trip with a Godly focus. However, for young professionals or other adults seeking to explore the world through a Godly lens, find Christian community, and try different styles of travel - this likely is not the tour group for you. That said, we pray they continue to make a wonderful impact on the next generation.

Overall rating: 6.

Friendship Tours Logo

Overall : 5.7 | Cost:  5 | Audience : 9 | Experience : 5 | Destinations : 3 | Customization:  5 | Convenience:  9 | Activities:  4 | Social:  6 | Faith:  6

Cost : The average cost is around $4000 per 7 days

Audience : Unknown, though it seemed more adult-driven

Experience : 10-15 day tours with optional 4-day extensions, focused on visiting His land. Tours have 20 or more passengers and they don't book individual passengers.

Destinations : Israel, Jordan, Italy, Greece, Rome, Turkey

Group Customization/ Flexibility : one free trip for five paying travelers, custom tour with own private motorcoach in groups of 20 or more

Convenience : Packages are all inclusive tours with airline, hotel, motorcoaches, and most meals (although you're responsible for lunches.) They note that if a trip doesn't meet your needs they will adapt it.

Activities and Experiences : Pilgrimages to the Holy Land and places of Christian

Social Aspects : The assumption would be that most attending would be Christians, but it wasn't super clear on the website

Faith : It focuses on Christian destinations and much of their website messaging is Christian, but I couldn't find information about Bible studies, church attendance, etc.

Friendship Tour's takes large groups to places of Biblical and Christian historic significance. As a result, they don't offer much variety in terms of places, activities, or trip length. Despite their company name, their website places less focus on the Christian camaraderie than other platforms. It also fails to specify what sort of devotionals, worship experience, or tour guides you will encounter on the trip. The ambiguity of it all, combined with the lack of travel variety, made me feel less inclined to travel with them.

Overall Rating: 5.7.

EF Go Ahead Tours Logo

Overall : 5.7 | Cost:  8 | Audience : 7 | Experience : 5 | Destinations : 6 | Customization:  7 | Convenience:  7| Activities:  6| Social:  3 | Faith:  3

Cost : approx. $3000

Experience : The company offer all kinds of tours, but we specifically reviewed their faith based ones. They only offered three Christian tours, making it appear as though they serve as primarily a travel agency for any faith based experiences.

Destinations : Faith based tours were in Israel, Greece, Spain, France, Portugal. However, the company as a whole travels Europe, Americas, Africa, Middle East, Australia, and Asia

Group Customization/ Flexibility : They'll help you plan your customized trip with meals, transport, lodging, guided sightseeing, etc. For every six travelers you bring you get one free traveler.

Convenience : Packages include handpicked hotels, sightseeing tours, local guides, and most meals (excluding lunches)

Activities and Experiences : Tours of holy land or whatever you request

Social Aspects : This is largely determined by you, because if you plan the trip you can invite whomever you wish.

Faith : They list local and experience tour guides, but no mention of Christian tour guides, devotionals, or worship

Unlike some of the other Christian travel groups, EF Go Ahead Tours , seems to be more of a travel agency than a tour company. They only have three religious trips planned this year, making it seem as though they are willing to help with Christian tours if you request a custom one. So, if you want to go to some more unique destinations with your group that is totally possible.

However, unlike other platforms Christian travel seems to be more of side option to their larger and broader travel options. Thus, the experience you have in terms of Christian fellowship and community is largely based on what you make out of it. You likely won't get a Christian tour guide, but I do anticipate that you would have the control to build your own itinerary and insert the amount of worship, devotionals, and team building that you would choose.

As a result, EF Go Ahead Tours received a rating of 5.7.

Traveled with these folks to the Holy Land in Feb. 2010. The shock of the trip was that they provide a JEWISH (non-believer) guide to take you through the Holy Land. Oh my gosh. This trip was not nearly as rich as it could have been with a Christian guide, and the agency doesn't tell you in advance that your guide is Jewish. Sigh!

NOTE: Theresa was a member of a church group led by one of America's foremost pastors. All pastor/ leaders are aware that our guides are Jewish. They can request Christian ones if they wish. That our guides are Jewish is always discussed with the pastor/leader and stated in the first meetings with a group. Our superior Jewish guides are steeped in Old and New Testament scriptures, Jewish history and archeology, and are, of course, invested in their homeland. The pastor/leader is rightly the interpreter of Christian faith issues on our tours.

Amazing trip to the Holy Land - March 2014! My husband and I had a fantastic trip to the Holy Land with this organization. Our Israeli tour guide was beyond words. His knowledge of the Old Testament put us to shame and his overall historic knowledge of Israel and the world was overwhelming. We always felt safe and cared for. Our buses, hotels, tours were all first class. I hope that we are able to take another tour with this company in the near future.

I just returned a week ago from a FABULOUS tour of Italy put together by International Christian Journeys. It was my first time in Italy and I loved the two-week experience immensely. We started off in Rome and then visited so many beautiful sites first in the southern half of Italy and later we took on the northern half, all the way up to Lake Maggiore. Each day was PACKED with multiple interesting sites, many of which I had heard about and seen photos of, but never imagined just how spectacular each site would be. In addition, there was a nice mix of allocated free time for a bit of shopping in some locations but not so much that it took away from the tour itself. It truly was a trip of a lifetime for me and now I am eager to take another tour with this same company and tour directors. The package price was well worth it and we even took advantage of a few optional experiences that became available while on the tour. I especially appreciated the kindness of the tour directors in accommodating my needs after I developed sciatica while on the trip and walking became painful. Because of their help, I was still able to enjoy the entire trip and fully participate with walking in spite of my leg pain. Really, I can't recommend this company highly enough. They are awesome!

Israel

ISRAEL IS A LAND, A MYSTERY, ABOUT PEOPLE, ABOUT NATIONS, ABOUT OUR GOD!

Israel is the most coveted land in the world. Why? The Bible tells us the reasons. To visit Israel is to take a “Biblical Journey!” Think about it. Some legends say Creation occurred in Israel. Jerusalem is the city where God chose to put His name (1 Chronicles 6:6). The land flows with truth concerning Scripture truth and is called by many, the “Fifth Gospel.” From the histories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, King David and of Israel to the clear truths concerning the Messiah, our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is all a part of the journey. You will delve into the truths as you learn from some traditions and historical teachings from thousands of years, but most of all from the Holy Bible. You will walk where Jesus walked, learn of the homeland for the Christian faith, and return home, never to be the same again! It is in the Land of the Bible where both prophecy and present application of Scriptures become more clear. With us, our genuine desire is for you to take a Biblical Journey.

Jordan

Biblical Journeys offers a very unique opportunity. Because of our experience, our knowledge of the land and relationships with both those in the United States and overseas. We believe we are the best suited for Christian journeys. The founder of Biblical Journeys, Khader (George) Maskubi, became an official guide of Biblical sites in Israel in the year 2000. After hundreds of tours, he pursued his own dream to go beyond guiding and establish the perfect company to provide the best service while keeping a strong Biblical emphasis. He has unusual capabilities as one who grew up in Israel and then received his formal education in the U. S. He is a citizen of both countries which provides him with an unequaled understanding to provide the best insight and leadership for you. Find out More

What others are saying From Travellers

We had the privilege of visiting and touring the Holy Land guided by Khader, George. His knowledge of the scriptures and the beautiful country brought the Bible to life. I could have toured the country for another two weeks and not have enough! Still on a high and can’t stop talking about it. Thank you George and Omar, in Jordan, for an amazing, spiritual trip of a lifetime. Looking forward to my next visit with Biblical Journey’s.”

Cindy McRae

“I spent my first trip to Israel with Biblical Journeys for a duration of two weeks. The journey and overall teaching was phenomenal. Khader Maskubi gave in-depth information on every site and kept our group moving so that we could see as many sites as we could. Adel M Hawa did a fantastic job driving our 60 passenger bus with over 1,200 miles in driving. He kept the bus clean and well stocked with drinks. I cannot wait to visit Israel again using Biblical Journeys.”

Testimonials

I just returned from a Catholic Journey’s pilgrimage tour of Croatia and Bosnia. The highlight was 5 days in Medjugorje. This place truly lives ‘peace on earth’.  The accommodations were superb and our pilgrimage tour guide, Evo, was outstanding. This has been my fourth Catholic Pilgrimage with Catholic Journeys and I have been more than satisfied with all aspects of the trip. They are so professional and caring. I highly recommend them for a Catholic pilgrimage tour.

Mr. Hyland,

Thank you for the wonderful pilgrimage tour to the Holy Land that your company organized. The guide was excellent, the places we visited put me in contact with the places that Christ walked, and the accommodations were great.  Truly, a Catholic Pilgrimage!

I want to thank you and Journeys Unlimited for your excellent, thorough, and professional service. Our trip to Italy in the spring of 2019 was incredible. No important detail was overlooked, several special surprises were added for us that made the tour that much more special, and your company went the extra mile when one of our couples faced a family emergency back in the states. I highly recommend Journeys Unlimited and Larry Marcus to any group wanting to schedule a tour in the future.

We are grateful to God for Journeys Unlimited. We highly recommend this organization and look forward to working with them again. Phileo Outreach International Ministries Incorporated had the pleasure of working with Journeys Unlimited in February of 2017, while seeking to provide an outstanding travel and educational opportunity to its members. From experience we realized that Journeys Unlimited takes you anywhere virtually or in person and leaves you with an indelible memory. This group of creative travel experts took the wildest dreams, imaginations, fears, doubts and needs of every individual in our group and crafted an educational tour to Israel, regardless of our financial, physical, or spiritual needs. Their local agent Nick Gjeca met with POIMI members at the church’s location, and with respect, he knowledgeably shared History, Geography, Climatic conditions, Dress code and expected boundaries. These same attributes were consistently displayed by all who served us during air travel, land travel, and throughout our guided tours. Hence, the Bible was brought alive from Genesis to Revelation. We are grateful to God for Journeys Unlimited. We highly recommend this organization and look forward to working with them again.

I have been traveling with Journeys since 2013 The quality of the bus, the hotels and the tour itself are excellent. But the real exceptional things fall into two categories. First, our regional director Ray Masillo, is in touch with me often. He is quick to keep me informed and to check on anything he can do to make our trip easier. He is personally involved with our groups at every point. Secondly, the tour guides we have had are fun, friendly and have an unbelievable depth of knowledge about history, the culture and the Bible. I have learned so much, and they make it fun. Go with Ray and Journeys. You will love it.

It has been my privilege to host tours to the Holy Land and throughout Europe for forty years. During that time, I have been grateful for the passenger friendly service that my people have received and will continue to receive from Journeys Unlimited. Not only do they put the interests of the passengers first but the same can be said for how I’ve been treated as both a tour host and pastor. The flights, ground transportation, hotels, meals, guides and sites were first class in every respect. Like many previous tours, the passengers on my last tour to Israel and Jordan all agreed that Journeys Unlimited provided one of the finest travel experiences they’ve ever had and they are ready to go again.

Mandisa remembered. Fans, music industry, friends pay tribute to 47-year-old singer

christian journeys reviews

Grammy-award winning musician and "American Idol" alum Mandisa was found dead at her Nashville home on Thursday.

The 47-year-old Christian singer dazzled audiences when she hit the stage of "American Idol" in 2005 and made it through to the final nine. From there she released her debut album, but dealt with pain from the loss of a beloved friend and having a personal crisis of faith. Her journey through heartache and depression to finding her faith again inspired many that were going through similar situations.

"Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life’s challenges all around the world," was written on an Instagram post announcing Mandisa's death.

Since the news of her death, family, fans and friends in and out of the music industry, have paid tribute to the singer.

What happened to Mandisa?

On Friday, The Media Collective, Mandisa's rep, issued this statement confirming her death, but did not disclose how the songstress died.

"We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased. At this time we do not know the cause of death or any further details. We ask for your prayers for her family and close-knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time."

Mandisa's story and journey to 'Overcome' touched many

Mandisa crisis of faith was an inspiration not only for an album, but inspired others who were going though hardship. Fans shared their stories on the Instagram post announcing her death.

"I’m devastated 💔💔💔 Overcomer help me healed when I loss my daughter at 16. She gave hope even when she didn’t have any to give herself. Mandisa is truly one of God’s Devine. I hope she finally has the peace she struggled so long to find. We have truly really loss one of God’s truest and purest creatures… I love you now and forever on Mandisa. God speed on your journey to heaven….," wrote user keishacraftsmith.

Mourning her loss: TobyMac remembers Mandisa after Christian singer's death, 'I know her battle is over ...'

Other's shared how her music and writing helped them through some of the toughest times in their lives. Actress Candace Cameron Bure shared broken heart emojis under the post, while Christian rap artist Wande offered condolences.

Fellow Christian musician and friend Colton Dixon, shared memories of being on the road with Mendisa and Toby Mac.

"Mandisa is the sweetest, kindest soul that  @anniedixon__  and I have met on the road. After hearing she went to be with the Jesus last night I was reflecting this morning on the times we had together," Dixon wrote.

Singer and songwriter Matthew West paid tribute to his longtime friend and collaborator with lyrics from their song "Only the World", stating that they "hit differently" now that Mandisa was gone.

"I am so incredibly saddened to hear about the loss of my friend Mandisa. I will always cherish the memories of times we spent together hosting award shows, going on tour, and most of all helping her tell her story in the songwriting room," West also wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts also paid tribute to the late singer.

"My heart is heavy hearing about Mandisa. Incredibly blessed that she was there my first day back on ⁦ @GMA ⁩ following my long medical leave. Her beautiful music & spirit lifted me and countless others," Roberts wrote on X.

Fellow musician Don Moen provided a statement to The Tennessean, saying Mandisa was not only a powerhouse of a talent, but that she also possessed a genuinely kind spirit.

"We ministered together several times, she sang background vocals on my album 'Thank You Lord' and joined me on several tours," the statement read. "On one particular tour, notes kept appearing in everyone's bunk on the bus or in their instrument cases. These were encouraging messages like: 'You are blessed and highly favored,' or 'You're such a blessing on this tour.' Only at the end of the tour did we discover it had been Mandisa. Whether behind the scenes or center stage, her presence always brought joy and hope.

Where was Mandisa from?

Mandisa was born in California, but her home was in Tennessee.

She graduated Fisk University in Nashville in 2000 and was a member of the famed Fisk University Jubilee singers. She called Tennessee home after her graduation, through her "American Idol" tenure, a Grammy win, multiple albums and until her death on Thursday.

A Delightful Musical on Par with Hollywood Blockbuster Movies

Is Journey to Bethlehem worth seeing? Absolutely. Is this film entirely Biblical? No. I will detail why I still think this is a great movie to see with the family. I will also add a major spoiler (at the end of this review), so you can decide if that scene is a deal breaker for you. Additionally, in this Journey to Bethlehem Christian Movie Review, I give you the information you need before viewing this movie with your children.

In 2018, I wrote a movie review for a Christian movie ( I Can Only Imagine ) and said, “Run to see this movie. Send a clear signal to Hollywood that we are tired of the movies that they peddle. Let God’s story of redemption be told over and over throughout the land. Supporting this movie will help bring other stories to light in this dark world.”

While I have been doing movie reviews for a long time, I have also supported Christian movies. Our family almost always pays for their tickets. I do not want my audience to feel I have been “paid” for a movie review.

However, full disclosure: I did receive early screening passes for Journey to Bethlehem . But my relationship with Jesus Christ does not permit me to be untruthful with my movie review. I always craft an honest review. Additionally, we have already seen this wonderful movie in the theater a second time at our own expense.

Journey to Bethlehem Christian Movie Review

Studio synopsis:.

A young woman carrying an unimaginable responsibility. A young man torn between love and honor. A jealous king who will stop at nothing to keep his crown. This live-action Christmas musical adventure for the entire family weaves classic Christmas melodies with humor, faith, and new pop songs in a retelling of the greatest story ever told – the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus. A unique new entry into the collection of holiday classic movies, this epic Christmas musical is unlike any before it.

My Synopsis:

The classic Nativity Story is told starting with the betrothal of Mary and Joseph, their journey to Bethlehem, and the birth of Jesus is told within a musical celebration. This is a fresh take on the Biblical account of the birth of the son of God. While it strays from the stories in the Bible and takes great creative liberties, it gives you a glimpse of the struggles and fears of a young pregnant Mary who must marry Joseph and give birth to the Savior.

Journey to Bethlehem Christian Review – What Parents Want to Know

There is no foul language in this film. However, one person says to a donkey, “Stop being such an a—,” and it is cut off before they say the word.

Mary is a “humble virgin.”

A comment is made about sheep dung.

A woman smacks her husband in the face with flowers.

Behind King Herod’s throne is an evil-looking lion sculpture with glowing red eyes. This sculpture seems to come to life at times.

At one point, Joseph fights with himself between what he feels God is calling him to do and what others are telling him to do. This is portrayed as two Josephs, one dressed in white, one dressed in black, physically fighting.

Herod wakes up repeatedly after having nightmares.

A man is held in a prison.

Guards are told to “kill every pregnant woman and baby you find.”

Spiritual Content:

This entire film is a spiritual celebration of the birth of Jesus. We watch two people who desire to follow God struggle with their own insecurities, wants, and needs and put that all aside for God’s plan.

King Herod’s adult son tells him, “When I was a boy, you were like a God I worshipped.”

The Angel Gabriel appears to Mary. Later, he also appears to Joseph to tell him of God’s plan.

Adult Content:

A man flirts with a young woman in the marketplace.

King Herod is a raving madman who is either on drugs or crazy.

At one point, the three wise men begin dancing in a chorus line scene and kick their legs.

Mary is betrothed to Joseph. In the film, she hasn’t met him yet, and she doesn’t want to marry him. She says, “It’s not my decision.” And she struggles with the entire process. After they are married and Jesus is born, they share a kiss.

Positive Content:

Outside of the creative liberties taken with the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus, this is a fantastic film. The graphics, the music, the acting, and the dance scenes are all spectacular.

Furthermore, the comedy is great. Most Biblical accounts of the birth story of Jesus are stoic, and no one ever smiles. It is great to see humor being used.

Journey to Bethlehem Christian Review – My Viewing Recommendations

How often have you seen your plans fizzle away and God’s plan taking shape in your life? How often do you argue with God about your plans changing? When I began reviewing movies, it was for something fun to do. Never did I believe I would be writing movie reviews for Christian families on a regular basis. But God had other plans for my life.

This film is about God’s plan for salvation and how he uses Mary and Joseph to carry out those plans. It gives you a glimpse of one group of people’s ideas of how that might have looked.

While I believe this film of the Christmas story is amazing, and it is definitely worth seeing this holiday season, others may have reservations because of the deviation from the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ. For an example of the deviation, see the Spoiler at the end of this review!

I can guarantee that you will laugh and you will cry. Antonio Banderas portrays evil King Herod in a unique way. Be warned that this film uses its creative license to stray from the Biblical account. The question is, how much creative liberties are you okay with?

I started this review by telling you about a Christian film I saw in 2018, and I believe that we vote with our dollars. I still think that today. There is a world of difference in the quality and quantity of Christian movies from 2018 until today. While Hollywood has not embraced Christian films, there are now more choices, and the moviemaking quality has improved dramatically. Vote with your dollars and see this film this Christmas season.

Teaching with Journey to Bethlehem

How can you use Journey to Bethlehem to teach your children? First, read the Biblical account of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus. Then ask your children how the Biblical account differs from the movie. Next, ask them what has been added to the story.

Then, you can teach them about creative licenses. It is common when a movie is based on a true story to find differences in the real-life account versus the movie. Some movies that have done that are Titanic, Gran Turismo , and Flamin’ Hot .

Finally, talk with your children about your views on creative liberties and why you have those views. Each family is going to view this film differently, and each child is going to grow up to develop their own beliefs.

It is important to expose your children to differing views and teach them critical thinking skills at home before they go out into the world.

Additionally, discuss arranged marriages. Research which cultures and countries still embrace the concept of an arranged marriage. What are the advantages and disadvantages of arranged marriages?

How long does it take to travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem on foot?

It is estimated that it would take four days to walk from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

What does myrrh actually do?

When the three wise men give gifts, someone says, “What does myrrh actually do.”

Myrrh has been used medicinally since ancient times. It is used to treat wounds, manage aches and inflammation of joints, and help with parasitic infections and gastrointestinal diseases. It was also used for its fragrance.

Why did the three wise men give gold, frankincense and myrrh?

Gold was given because it signified wealth and Jesus is a King. Frankincense was given to represent the holiness of Jesus. Finally, myrrh was given because it was used as an embalming agent which would symbolize His death.

Who created the first Nativity Scene?

For more information about the first Nativity scene, read here!

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT – DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS POINT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO READ THE SPOILER

In the scene, after Jesus is born, King Herod’s son shows up at the stable. He has been charged with finding Mary and Jesus and killing them. After seeing the Christ child, he lies to the guards with him, and he lets Mary and Joseph go.

There is no Biblical account of anyone from Herod’s household helping Mary and Joseph escape with Jesus. However, I do believe that King Herod’s son represents us. He knew that Jesus was a King, and I think he struggled with his father’s order to find Mary and Jesus and kill them versus acknowledging Jesus as the son of God in the same manner we struggle at times with who Jesus is and the place he has in our lives.

Christmas movies

I am a huge fan of musicals. I grew up listening to and watching classics from the past, such as “The Sound of Music,” then graduated to Broadway shows as a teenager… and “Journey to Bethlehem” fits squarely into the latter category, with its catchy songs, likable characters, and meaningful character arcs. It’s a film made more for unbelievers who might use this story to launch their interest in faith than purely for Christian audiences, but as a believer and a musical fan, I enjoyed it.

When a star appears in the heavens, the three wise men rouse themselves to travel to Judea in search of a prophesied future king , to be born of a humble virgin . As they make their way hundreds of miles, the audience is transported to meet Mary ( Fiona Palamo ), a hopeful would-be teacher who is disappointed to learn her father has chosen a husband for her, a man she has never met named Joseph ( Milo Manheim ), who has just moved to Nazareth from the little town of Bethlehem . After an adorable cute meet between them, the two hit it off on the wrong foot at their betrothal ceremony, but decide to try and make their marriage work, for the sake of their families (and, let’s face it, they like each other).

Then an angel appears to Mary in the middle of the night and tells her she has been chosen to carry the future Messiah . People don’t believe her when she tells them this, and Joseph feels torn over what to do about it, to reject her quietly or marry her anyway to provide a home and protection for her unborn child.

While he deliberates on this, King Herod ( Antonio Banderas ) suffers from sleepless nights and nightmares that coincide with the return of his eldest son, Antipater ( Joel Smallbone ). And when he learns they may be tied to a future king about to be born in his realm… well, he smirks at the wise men , they should find this baby so all four kings can worship him together.

Making a successful musical is a whole different ball of wax than your typical film; music is a powerful medium that reaches into your soul, and you can express ten times as much character development in a three minute song than you can in an hour of dialog, and that’s what this film does best. Its terrific numbers show us the internal wrestling (sometimes literally) of its characters.

Mary has to ponder how she can be the mother of a divine child , when she feels as if she needs God to carry her instead. Joseph goes to battle against his own doubts, as he argues back and forth over whether to believe in her incredible story. And Antipater has perhaps the most profound, touching song, as he deliberates within himself whether having his father’s blood in him condemns him to be evil, or if he has a choice. (This song also speaks to every child who has ever tried to please a father who did not deserve their admiration.)

There are other songs as well, some of them preppy and fun (the initial “get married” song, and the “Three Wise Guys”), and others more serious and contemplative; Banderas’ number tells you in two minutes that Herod is a psychopath and a narcissist, who thinks he is God (“Mine is the power… Mine is the glory…”).

All of the music is so catchy, I’ve been replaying it and singing it ever since seeing the film (which I watched twice in twenty-four hours, I enjoyed it so much).

The production is top-notch; the director/producer said a lot of prayer went into each day of filming, and he felt a spiritual pushback that made the entire process challenging but also deepened his own faith.

An array of talent is involved, with incredible singing voices, but the standout performances belong to Palomo and Manheim as the charismatic young couple at the center of the drama, and Banderas, who smirks and simpers and glowers his way through a prime role as King Herod. You can tell how much fun he had being deranged.

The costumes are all lovely, and it’s a colorful experience from start to finish, with bits of humor thrown into the mix. I’ve seen it compared to a “Christian version of The Greatest Showman ” and there’s some truth to that, in its larger-than-life approach to storytelling.

Issues of Concern

But this movie doesn’t come without some caveats; where is the problem with it, from a believer’s perspective rather than just as a musical fan? It’s not Scripture and doesn’t try to be. The characters are modernized and given arcs to overcome; Mary wants a career rather than a husband at first, but becomes wholly devoted to taking care of this child. She is a strong female who reminds Joseph he was also “Chosen” for this task, giving him the courage to step up and protect her when it counts.

Things are left out that could have been included (I expected Elizabeth to give some sign that “her child leapt within her womb” when Mary approached).

It deviates from Scripture in omitting certain conversations and details, and rearranging other events. It adds humor ( Gabriel practices his speech before he wakes Mary, and even bonks his head into a low beam, to show he isn’t used to having a human-like form) and uses the three wise men as comic relief. They are not as funny as the script tries to make them be, and at times their dialog is cringe.

It’s not a reverent take on these events, but a “musical” take, which means a lot of comedy, romance, and angst. Beyond that, the ending is a little contrived (I can think of a better way to do it, but given the history of Antipater , I know why they made the creative choices they did, and it makes it bittersweet if you know anything about what happened to him later).

I saw it with three other people over the Christmas holidays; one of them felt concerned that it deviated so much from scripture, and wished it had not made so many changes, but the rest of us enjoyed it.

It’s a film to make up your own mind about, based on what you feel comfortable with and what is appropriate for your personal faith. If you do not like anything “added to or taken away from” the nativity story, this isn’t the movie for you; but if you are looking for a musical with songs that stick in your head for days as an escape from most of the filth Hollywood churns out these days, or a film to share with your unbeliever friends that might pique their interest in the greatest story ever told, give it a chance.

Understanding the value of cash back is simple, but valuing airline miles or points redeemable for travel requires digging a bit deeper. At Newsweek, we’ve developed a common language to talk about the value of points and miles: our valuations.

Our valuations translate points into dollars and cents in a way that reflects reality. They are based on actual data across a balance of accessible redemption options, not just the aspirational first and business class redemptions that require a PhD in miles and points to book. The upshot is that our valuations help you understand the actual value you can easily get from your miles and points.

Eligible Wells Fargo cardholders also have access to Autograph Card Exclusives. These live, intimate events feature a limited number of tickets available exclusively to cardholders to purchase. Events occur throughout the U.S., and available artists and experiences change during the year.

Who Is the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card Best For?

The Autograph Journey from Wells Fargo is best for travelers who want to maximize rewards on travel purchases. This card’s bonus categories center around travel and dining, and it doesn’t require cardholders to book through the bank’s travel portal to earn maximum rewards. This card allows you to book directly with airlines, hotels and other travel providers to earn credit card rewards and perks from the loyalty programs.

While the card has a $95 annual fee, it is offset by its yearly $50 credit toward airline purchases. Simply book flights of $50 or more to automatically receive the statement credit on your next bill. The card’s complimentary travel protections and cell phone insurance also provide peace of mind for frequent travelers and people whose cell phone is an indispensable part of their daily lives.

Travelers who want to earn flexible rewards points that can transfer to airline and hotel loyalty programs will also be excited about this new Wells Fargo credit card . The Autograph Journey launches with five airline partners and one hotel partner. While this total is smaller than competing brands, Wells Fargo is working to expand its list of transfer partners, and more brands will be added throughout the year.

Who Should Consider an Alternative to the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card?

While the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey has much to offer, it may not be the right card for every traveler. Wells Fargo intends to add more transfer partners over time, but some consumers may not want to wait that long or roll the dice that new partners will be among their preferred brands. Consumers who want access to a greater array of transfer partners should look at alternatives from Chase , Citi, Capital One or American Express , since each of those programs has 14 or more partners to choose from.

Having access to TSA PreCheck or Global Entry while traveling is a huge timesaver. The Autograph Journey credit card does not offer reimbursement for these Trusted Traveler application fees. Some travel credit cards at the same price point, like the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card or the United℠ Explorer Card (whose benefit also applies to the NEXUS program), include reimbursement once every four years.

How Does the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card Stack Up to Its Competitors?

Before applying for the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card, compare it to these popular travel credit cards to decide which one is best for your wallet.

Wells Fargo Autograph Journey vs Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is a solid travel credit card that earns Ultimate Rewards points. With this card, you’ll earn 5X points on travel when booking through Chase Travel and 2X points on other travel purchases, such as when purchasing directly with the airline, hotel or other provider. The Autograph Journey doesn’t require you to book through its portal to earn its top rewards rates and earns 50% more points on all other travel purchases. The Sapphire Preferred also earns 3X points on dining, select streaming services and on online groceries (excluding Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs), while the Autograph Journey earns 3X points only on dining.

When you redeem Ultimate Rewards points, you’ll get 25% more value when booking travel through Chase Travel. This extra value means you’ll redeem fewer points than booking similar travel through Wells Fargo. There are also 14 Chase airline and hotel partners , which is nearly three times as many options, and it features well-known domestic brands like United, Southwest, Hyatt and Marriott.

Wells Fargo Autograph Journey vs. Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card

With the Capital One Venture Rewards Card , you’ll earn an unlimited 2X miles on every purchase and 5X miles on hotels and car rentals booked through Capital One Travel. While it doesn’t offer the same earning power as the Autograph Journey, the Venture Card offers a solid rewards rate on every purchase, which is ideal for people who don’t want to remember which categories offer extra rewards. The card also includes up to $100 reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck membership application fees and complimentary Hertz Five Star elite status, which the Autograph Journey cannot match.

Capital One miles can be redeemed for cash back, travel, gift cards and more. Cardholders can also get statement credits for purchases made in the previous 90 days. Further, Capital One offers more than 15 airline and hotel transfer partners, which is three times as many options as Wells Fargo. The card does not charge foreign transaction fees, and it includes auto rental collision damage waiver and extended warranty protection on eligible purchases made with your card.

Wells Fargo Autograph Journey vs. Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card

For people who want to earn Wells Fargo credit card points but don’t want to pay an annual fee, the Wells Fargo Autograph Card is a solid choice. This card earns an unlimited 3X points on travel, gas, restaurants, transit, popular streaming services and phone plans. These bonus categories are an excellent way to maximize common spending categories, and many of these household categories aren’t available from the Autograph Journey Card.

Additionally, the no-annual-fee Autograph card includes an introductory APR offer on purchases, which the Autograph Journey doesn’t offer. If you need extra time to pay off your purchases without incurring interest charges, the Wells Fargo Autograph Card is the best option. This card includes many of the same protections as the $95 annual fee Autograph Journey, and its points also can be redeemed for cash back, gift cards and more or transferred to airline and hotel partners.

Frequently Asked Questions

What credit score do you need for a wells fargo autograph journey card.

For the best approval odds, you should have good to excellent credit when applying for the Autograph Journey Card. A good FICO credit score ranges from 670 to 739, while very good to exceptional FICO credit score start at 740 and above. If your credit score is below these levels, take steps to improve your score before applying.

How Much Are 60,000 Wells Fargo Points Worth?

At the most basic level, Wells Fargo points are worth 1 cent each toward travel, cash back, gift cards and more. This means that the 60,000 welcome bonus points from the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card are worth $600. With the introduction of transfer partners, you may receive even higher value when transferring points to book award flights or hotel rooms.

Does the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card Have Lounge Access?

No, the Autograph Journey does not include lounge access. To receive airport lounge access, typically, you’ll need to get a premium credit card for travel with an annual fee that likely ranges $395 or higher. Premium travel credit cards are best for frequent travelers who can justify paying such a high annual fee.

The Top Five Essential Skills You Need To Build A Successful Business

Starting a business is an exhilarating journey that requires more than just a great idea. It demands a versatile skill set and a resilient mindset.

While entrepreneurship is often glamorized in media and popular culture, portraying a life filled with success, freedom, and excitement, the reality can be markedly different and far less glamorous. Many entrepreneurs face a myriad of challenges that are seldom highlighted.

The journey of building a business from the ground up is filled with financial risk, long hours, and significant personal sacrifice. Unlike traditional employment, entrepreneurs often lack a steady paycheck, benefits like health insurance, and job security, which can lead to intense stress and uncertainty.

The responsibility of making all the critical decisions can be overwhelming and isolating. This can take a toll on mental and physical health, as well as personal relationships. Understanding these challenges is crucial for anyone considering this path, as it demands resilience, adaptability, and a strong support network to navigate the highs and lows of entrepreneurial life.

Because the journey of entrepreneurship has its challenges, here are the top five essential skills every entrepreneur should cultivate to enhance their chances of success:

1. adaptability.

In the fast-paced world of startups, change is constant and often unpredictable. The ability to adapt to shifting markets, consumer needs, and technology can distinguish between thriving and struggling businesses. Entrepreneurs must be willing to pivot their strategies, embrace new trends, and revise their business models as necessary. This flexibility can open up new opportunities and help avoid potential pitfalls.

Understanding the numbers is crucial. Effective financial management encompasses budgeting, forecasting, managing cash flow, and making informed investment decisions. Entrepreneurs must be able to read and interpret financial statements to understand their business's financial health and make strategic decisions. This skill ensures that a business can sustain operations, fund growth, and achieve profitability.

3. Strategic Thinking and Planning

Vision without strategy is merely a dream. Entrepreneurs must be able to think strategically to set viable goals and develop actionable plans to reach them. This involves analyzing competitive environments, identifying business opportunities, and assessing resources. Strategic thinking also includes risk management where you identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.

4. Communication and Networking

Being able to articulate ideas clearly and persuade others is invaluable. Entrepreneurs often need to communicate with a variety of stakeholders including employees, investors, customers, and partners. Effective communication enhances leadership, fosters team alignment, and attracts investment. Additionally, networking is essential for building relationships that can lead to new opportunities, valuable advice, and increased support.

5. Leadership

Ultimately, the success of a business often reflects the quality of its leadership . Entrepreneurs must be able to inspire and motivate their team, manage resources efficiently, and lead by example. Good leaders cultivate a positive company culture, delegate effectively, and make decisions that align with the company’s values and objectives.

The bottom line is that these skills are interlinked and can significantly amplify an entrepreneur's ability to succeed. While some entrepreneurs might naturally excel in one area, it’s important to develop a balanced skill set or build a team that collectively possesses these strengths. Continuous learning and personal development can help entrepreneurs adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving business landscape.

By nurturing these top five skills, entrepreneurs can not only navigate the complexities of launching and growing a business but also pave the way for sustained success and innovation.

‘the spiderwick chronicles’ review: christian slater in a roku fantasy series sorely lacking in wonder.

Adapted from the books, the adventure centers on a trio of adolescent siblings who must save their town from a ravenous ogre.

The Spiderwick Chronicles

Related Stories

Kerry washington on her parents' plan to take sperm donor secret to the grave: "they thought they were protecting me", 'willow' star christian slater talks his val kilmer tribute and the 'mr. robot' effect, the spiderwick chronicles.

Such flaws bring The Spiderwick Chronicles well short of the dreamy potential of its premise. Adapted by Aron Eli Coleite from the children’s fantasy novels by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, the adventure begins with the Grace family — Jared and his twin brother Simon (Noah Cottrell), their big sister Mallory (Mychala Lee) and their mother Helen ( Joy Bryant ) — moving back into their ancestral home, a ramshackle mansion covered in vines and snaked through with secret passageways.

As it turns out, Spiderwick Estate doesn’t just look like something out of a fairy tale. Jared is the first to catch on to the presence of mystical beings in the home and the surrounding area. Although his family initially dismisses his stories as just Jared being his usual weird self, in due time the whole clan gets caught up in the battle to save their town from a destructive supernatural force.

And hands-down the single best reason to watch The Spiderwick Chronicles is Christian Slater ‘s turn as Dr. Brauer, a psychiatrist with some ugly secrets up his sleeve. The role turns on a dime between larger-than-life villain to kindly father figure, from smooth-talking charmer to impotent comic relief, and Slater tears into each facet of the character with bloodthirsty relish.

Alas, The Spiderwick Chronicles is shakiest precisely where it needs to be strongest: with the Graces themselves. The center of their orbit is Jared, the “troubled” kid who feels more fretted over than truly seen by his family — the same mental health struggles that inspired the clan to leave Brooklyn for Michigan in the first place only make it easier for them to dismiss his breathless rants about boggarts or dragons. Cottrell tempers Jared’s impetuousness with sadness and self-loathing, and on some level it’s touching that the series allows the character to remain as prickly as he does. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make it any less repetitive to sit through episode after episode of Jared exploding at his family yet again for “hating” him every time they dare question a single one of his monster-hunting ideas.

The source material for The Spiderwick Chronicles is aimed squarely at children, and in part the show’s shallowness seems to stem from a reluctance to lose too much of its kid-friendly lightness. While the series never goes dark per se — it’s certainly softer than the adolescent fantasies of Disney+’s Goosebumps or even Renegade Nell — it has its moments of sadness and spookiness. The Graces are dealing not just with a big move, but with their split from a callously indifferent father. Jared feels alienated by a world too eager to write him off as a “bad” kid or lock him up as a “crazy” one, and his family frustrated by their inability to get through to someone they love so dearly. Meanwhile, the monster at their doorstep is prepared to manipulate and maim and kill, and grows a step closer every day to realizing its diabolical plan.

Jeep Wagoneer Series II interior review: The good and bad in all 3 rows

One of the largest drivers for Chevrolet Suburban purchases is ample space for people and their things. But what if you don’t want a Suburban? That was one of the major reasons we picked up our Jeep Wagoneer Series II yearlong review test SUV. The dirty little secret of full-size three-row truck-based SUVs, however, is that many of them can haul people or things well, but not both at the same time. In the past, standard-length versions of these SUVs have typically featured cramped second rows and uncomfortable third rows, and cargo capacities with all the seats raised leave sports car owners laughing. So how does our Wagoneer stack up? Quite well — but as we found after spending a week shuttling around a half-dozen adults, there are some obvious flaws, too.

The view from the front

Although our Wagoneer Series II is a midgrade trim, you wouldn’t know it from the front seats. Compared to similar offerings in the lineups of the rival Chevy Tahoe , Ford Expedition , Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia , our Jeep feels downright luxurious. Our Sea Salt and black-trimmed interior features accenting piano black and satin silver trim; thick, rich-feeling Nappa leather and two comfy, easy-chair-like thrones. The doors’ armrests are nicely padded, while the center console features both a small tambour-covered cubby and a large, purse-swallowing storage space below. In front of the driver is a thick-rimmed two-spoke steering wheel wrapped with stitched leather and featuring controls for the digital instrument cluster, radar cruise control system and the infotainment suite.

The digital displays include a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Stellantis’ latest Uconnect 5 software teamed with a 10.3-inch passenger display that, so far as we can tell thus far, largely mirrors the functions of the middle screen. Found on either side of the main screen are touch-sensitive buttons that control the heated seats, steering wheel and on/off functionality for the display. Beneath the wireless phone charger (itself a deep cubby hidden behind a rotating piano black panel) are touch buttons for the automatic stop/start system, lane keep assist, traction control, a hard button for the hazards and more soft buttons for the Wagoneer’s parking sensors, tow/haul mode and the passenger display’s on/off switch. Although the capacitive buttons are intuitively laid out, we really wish they offered some sort of haptic feedback — we hate having to take our eyes off the road to confirm lane keep assist is on or our heated seat is off.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392: The Final Edition brings finality to V-8-powered Wrangler

The view from the second row

While it used to be rare to find a three-row full-size SUV as roomy in the cheap seats as it is up front, our Wagoneer scored high marks from our passengers with regards to space. The second-row bench in our Jeep (captain’s chairs are also available) slides fore and aft and reclines in multiple sections. This versatility ensured every adult was comfortable in the roomy second row while also allowing us to slide the middle seat forward for easy access to a small pup we had in tow.

Second-row passengers can individually set the temperature for their area of the passenger compartment, access six USB ports (two of which are USB-Cs), draw power from a 115-volt outlet, and plug devices into the seat-back-mounted dual 10.1-inch displays via HDMI ports. Those prone to motion sickness might not have much use for the dual displays and their Netflix, Prime Video, Freevee, or Amazon Music functions, but the apps offer a broad assortment of entertainment options. That said, our second-row riders felt there could be more cupholders — the ones allotted to them are in the door pockets or the middle seat’s fold-down armrest, the latter of course inaccessible if you’re using that seating position.

The view from the third row

Our Jeep Wagoneer’s third row is its biggest drawback — but not for the reason you’d likely expect. We opted for an eight-person layout via the second-row bench seat (instead of a seven-seater with second-row captain’s chairs), and that means there’s no aisle to reach the third row. Instead, as is the case with many other three-row SUVs, the third row is accessed by mechanically moving the middle row out of the way.

In our Wagoneer’s case, pressing a shoulder-mounted button on either of the second row’s outboard seats causes that seat to tilt up and slide forward, allowing for easy ingress to the third row.

Unfortunately, this thumb-sized button is easily missed by those who aren’t aware of it. Multiple passengers who sought access to the third row instead grabbed the second row’s prominent and unlabeled recline-function lever. Without an occupant to hold it in place, the second-row seat back springs forward like a mousetrap — in one case hitting a person in the face and knocking their glasses onto the ground. We’ve not experienced another second-row seat that snapped forward quite as quickly as the Wagoneer’s.

2024 Jeep Wrangler: The 4xe Dispatcher Concept is a retro-inspired off-road hybrid

Once safely ensconced in the Jeep’s third row, glasses back in place, the way back isn’t a bad place to be. Although squeezing a person in the middle seat feels cruel, the outboard seats are relatively roomy for the class. Those passengers get their own armrests, cubbies and dual USB-A and -C ports, as well as overhead HVAC vents. The seat cushioning itself is comfortable, though we heard some minor grumbling about back pain due to the higher floor relative to the second row and seat-back angle. The third row’s panoramic roof panel earned rave reviews from passengers in helping the area feel open and airy.

The cargo space

Considering how massive the Wagoneer and its ilk are, you’d be forgiven for thinking that large cargo areas are a given. Yet vehicles like the Nissan Armada, with 16.5 cubic feet of storage behind the third row (less than the brand’s own subcompact two-row Kicks ), prove that isn’t the case.

The Wagoneer’s cargo area more than holds its own, however — as well as plenty of stuff. With 27.4 cubic feet behind the third row, the Jeep’s best-in-class trunk allows all three rows to be in use while still hauling multiple large suitcases and rollaboards, sports equipment, or the latest haul from Costco. If more room is needed (and provided the other rows aren’t in use), the Wagoneer can swallow up to 70.8 cubic feet with the third row folded and 116.7 cubic feet with the rear two rows laid down, just a hair behind the Tahoe’s 72.6- and 122.9-cubic-foot figures.

So far, we’re loving living with our Wagoneer’s comfortable, quiet and spacious cabin. We’re looking forward to spending more time in it in all scenarios, including taking a break from the pavement to see how well the big Jeep performs as, well, a Jeep.

2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid Review: A Lot More Power, a Little More MPG

toyota tacoma i force max limited 2024 01 exterior dynamic front angle scaled jpg

By Mike Hanley

The verdict: The new i-Force Max hybrid powertrain available in the redesigned 2024 Toyota Tacoma is another step in the truck’s evolution into a modern mid-size pickup.

Versus the competition: Once one of the older (but still popular) mid-size trucks on the market, the Tacoma is now one of the most modern, positioning it well to compete with the recently updated Chevrolet Colorado and Ford Ranger. The 2024 Tacoma also now has the distinction of being the only truck in its class with a gas-electric hybrid powertrain, which is built for performance first and modest fuel economy gains second.

The two Tacoma generations immediately prior to the truck’s 2024 redesign were similar in size and appearance, and both had a relatively utilitarian interior. But Toyota’s focus on incremental improvements rather than wholesale changes has been popular with shoppers, with the previous-generation Tacoma still selling more than 200,000 copies a year at the end of its life cycle.

Related: 2024 Toyota Tacoma: Which Trim Is Right for You?

We first reviewed the new 2024 Tacoma late last year when Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman tested many of the truck’s available trim levels, and after recently traveling to San Diego to drive hybrid-equipped Tacomas and the off-road-oriented TRD Pro and Trailhunter trims, we’ve now driven the newest members of the Tacoma’s extensive lineup. (Per Cars.com’s ethics policy, we pay for all travel and lodging at such manufacturer-sponsored events.)

Not Your Prius Powertrain

Toyota’s gas-electric hybrid systems are known for their impressive efficiency in vehicles like the Prius, Camry, RAV4 and Corolla, but the automaker has recently added hybrids to models like the Tundra pickup and Sequoia and Grand Highlander three-row SUVs that emphasize performance. That’s the route Toyota has taken with the 2024 Tacoma’s new i-Force Max powertrain, which pairs the truck’s turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder gas engine with a 48-horsepower electric motor between the engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. Total system output is 326 hp at 6,000 rpm and 465 pounds-feet of torque at just 1,700 rpm. Both figures are considerably higher than the 278 hp and 317 pounds-feet of torque that the gas-only turbo four-cylinder makes in most Tacomas.

toyota tacoma i force max limited 2024 15 interior engine scaled jpg

Power from the i-Force Max hybrid system is readily apparent in everyday driving; the Tacoma accelerates swiftly when you get on the gas, even with three adults aboard, and it pulls strongly up to highway speeds. It feels like there’s a much larger engine under the hood than what’s actually there thanks to the system’s abundant low-end torque.

Related Video:

Not only powerful, the hybrid system is also refined. Our street drive was in a Tacoma Limited, and the gas engine and electric motor work seamlessly together, with the automatic transmission making smooth shifts as needed. The truck can operate on electric power alone at slower speeds, but on the hilly and winding roads where I drove the truck, the gas engine remained on most of the time.

And while it does still feel like a truck, the Tacoma’s driving manners are also relatively refined. The light-effort steering doesn’t offer much feedback, and brake-pedal feel is numb, but the Tacoma is easy to drive and feels manageable on narrow roads. It doesn’t feel small, mind you; like a number of other long-tenured models, the Tacoma has gotten larger over time, and its exterior dimensions now rival early versions of the Tundra full-size pickup. You look out over a long hood from the driver’s seat, but Toyota has addressed the low, legs-out driving position of prior Tacomas, and this has significantly improved front-seat comfort.

Don’t expect the Tacoma hybrid to deliver the type of high fuel economy figures that many of Toyota’s hybrid cars — or even the Ford Maverick hybrid compact pickup — achieve. The most efficient four-wheel-drive, automatic-transmission Tacoma with the gas-only turbo four-cylinder is rated 21 mpg combined, while the most efficient Limited trim level of the Tacoma hybrid is rated 24 mpg combined. That’s good by mid-size truck standards, however, especially considering the performance offered by the hybrid powertrain.

The torquey, powerful hybrid system seems like it’d be well suited for towing duty, but its maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds — when properly equipped — is a bit less than the gas-only four-cylinder’s towing maximum of 6,500 pounds.

Off-Roading in the Trailhunter and TRD Pro

The i-Force Max hybrid is the exclusive powertrain of the Trailhunter and TRD Pro versions of the Tacoma, and we drove these off-road-focused trims on slow- and high-speed off-road courses. The hybrid’s low-end torque and power is also a benefit off-road, but the Tacoma’s capabilities on off-road trails are more defined by the tech of these two trim levels.

With features including 2.5-inch Old Man Emu shocks, a disconnecting front stabilizer system, 33-inch Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires on bronze 18-inch alloy wheels and Crawl Control, the Trailhunter was able to confidently creep up and down hilly, uneven trails that had the truck’s hood alternately pointed skyward and toward the dirt. The truck made it all seem easy, and with Crawl Control engaged and overseeing vehicle speed, I could focus entirely on steering the truck. Trailhunter and TRD Pro trims both come with Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Monitor that uses cameras to show what’s in front of, beside and behind the truck on the dashboard touchscreen. The system was a big help on the trails, giving you the ability to self-spot yourself when visibility was limited.

The TRD Pro was on a separate, higher-speed off-road course, and while the power of the hybrid was appreciated here, the truck’s ability to handle the rough terrain without pummeling occupants in the process is more a reflection of its off-road hardware. Features include Fox 2.5-inch shocks, 33-inch Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires with black 18-inch alloy wheels, a front stabilizer disconnect and IsoDynamic Performance Seats that are exclusive to the TRD Pro. The IsoDynamic seats have a built-in shock-absorbing system that’s designed to reduce body movement and steady the head and neck. The truck’s soft landing following a small jump is a testament to the tech that’s at work in the TRD Pro.

The Price of Performance

The i-Force Max hybrid powertrain adds $3,700 to the price of a TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road or Limited trim level of the 2024 Tacoma Double Cab with a 5-foot bed, and it’s standard on Trailhunter and TRD Pro trucks. The hefty upcharge along with modestly better combined gas mileage estimates means you shouldn’t expect to recoup the extra cost of the hybrid powertrain anytime soon from savings at the pump; running the math for someone who drives 10,000 miles a year and spends $4 a gallon on gas, you’re looking at 14 to nearly 16 years before you’ve made up the hybrid’s price premium. But if you’re considering the hybrid powertrain because you like the idea of a more powerful Tacoma that also gets a bit better gas mileage, then the i-Force Max hybrid is worth a look.

Great app but one small but essential thing

I just got this app and I already enjoy it! Though when it says I get free 20 generations, I was hoping I would get a few free generations a day (like 3-5 or something). I was a little bummed out when i see that it’s not the case. So as a suggestion, i would like there be a few free generations a day kind of feature. I’m sure folks would love that. Other than that, I really enjoy this app.

Does Not Work with High Load of Generations

The Niji journey app make my phone hotter than when I’m playing a graphic intensive game like genshin or tower of fantasy. When I begin to do more than 4 generations I only do 3 at a time, my phone gets hot the app basically stops responding. It makes it impossible to look up a previous photo to make generation of it. When you got to your profile it takes 3+ mins to load your list and then once you are there it won’t let you select any of them. The app has more functionality than discord and more options but it’s almost unusable after 10 mins or one visit to your profile page. Please fix this for those who generate high numbers of photos.

Developer Response ,

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We have been made aware of this issue, and have released some updates to address this. We are also constantly working towards making the app better, and if you are able to help give us more specific information. We can take a closer, and better look.

Pretty good

Mainly, there are no issues that have really messed with the app or the experience. The app runs smoothly, you can see the image progress, you can choose prompts, and add reference photos which is all amazing. HOWEVER, a big issue I run into is when a ‘Job failed to run’ while using a free trial. It takes one of your free generations without even showing a result. Or if you cancel a generation, you don't get your little trial generation back. The app is good, I’m just not sure if these are bugs or something :)
