For each day we open up this tour we are tracking a cruise ship that is docking that following morning 2 hours before the tour starts, so if your ship is docking 2 hours before the start time of the tour. We are tracking your ship! This means that if the docking time changes, the tour will be changed in correspondence to that!
• Will I get back before my ship leaves? If we are tracking your ship, we are also tracking the time it leaves, so we ensure you’ll be back before the ship leaves!

• What should I wear? Dress warmly and in layers. Even in summer, the weather can be unpredictable. Don’t forget waterproofs!
• What’s your cancellation policy? Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the tour are non-refundable. We recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers tour cancellations!

Þingvellir National Park

The first stop of the day is Þingvellir National Park, where you will have a chance to see Thingvellir lake, the second biggest in Iceland, and walk in a rift where North American and Euro-Asian tectonic plates meet.

It is also known as the site of Althing, the first parliament in the world that was established year 930 AD. That’s actually where the name of the park Þingvellir (e. Fields of the parliament) originates from. If you are not in any rush our guide will walk with you over to the Öxarárfoss Waterfall which falls into the rift and merges with Thingvellir lake.

Laugarvant Fontana Spa

This is a quick but interesting stop to explore how traditional, geothermal steamed bread is made. A tasting activity is not included in the tour price. But can be arranged on request.

Efstidalur Dairy  Farm

The next stop is Efstidalur farm where we will see Icelandic cattle and locally made yummy ice cream. This farm has been run by the same family since 1750. If you like ice cream, it is on us. Choose whatever flavor you want 🙂

Haukdalur/ Geysir Geothermal Area

Within 10 minutes ride, we will reach Haukdalur/ Geysir geothermal area. Here we will explore some of the most geothermally active areas in Iceland. At the park, you will find the most active geyser in Iceland “Strokkur” which shoots hot water as high as 20-30 meters (65-98ft), at approximately 5-10 minutes intervals. Then we have Litli Geysir (“the small one”) which looks like a boiling pot and around 20 other dormant ones that can wake up at any time. Watch out for getting too close to it, its water temperature is about 100°C (212°F).

• Gullfoss Waterfall

We continue with of journey to Gullfoss waterfall, the second-largest waterfall in Iceland. It is only 5min. walking from the parking lot to the viewpoint of the waterfall.

In the summertime, for those who are fine with hiking, we can walk with you all the way to the side of the waterfall where you will have an opportunity to feel the vibration and the fresh breeze from the waterfall cascades.

At this point, we have covered all three main attractions of the famous Golden Circle route. But it is not over yet, we like to show you more.

Fridheimar Tomato Cultivation Farm

Now we will start driving south to visit Fridheimar tomato cultivation farm , where you get a chance to taste various meals and desserts made with tomato as the main ingredient. Some people say that this place offers the best Bloody Mary cocktail in the world. We will only make a short stop there to see the interior of the greenhouse (yes, you can see how things are grown there), and perhaps fancy yourself with a drink or soup from the bar. Please inform us if you’d like to have a proper lunch stop there, we might need to adjust the itinerary a bit to fit it into your schedule.

Kerid crater

And last but not least, we stop at Kerid to see a beautiful view of this beautiful crater, which is approx. 5000 years old.

To your knowledge, our private Golden Circle tour is very flexible. Our driver is able to change the itinerary and make sure that you will see all the sights and take a lunch break at your requested time and place.

We usually make a lunch stop at Geysir Geothermal Area or Gullfoss Waterfall. Both of the locations offer canteen-style, fast food, and snack options. Lunch stop at Fridheimar Tomato Farm is only made if requested beforehand. It is mainly because they have limited seating and require table reservations. Food or drinks are not included in the tour price.

At Þingvellir we’ll encounter the birthplace of the Icelandic nation, as well as the foundation site of the first Viking Parliament or Alþingi in the year 930. It is still the oldest existing parliament in the world. Þingvellir is one of the spots where we can appreciate more clearly the forces shaping our planet as the tectonic plates spread apart creating new crust. We visit the visual Rift Between the Eurasian and American Continents

We come to Gullfoss Waterfall one of Iceland’s most beautiful sights. Not a coincidence that its name translates as the Golden Waterfall.

Geysir hot spring reputation precedes it as the gusher that gave the international name to the phenomenon “Hot Spring” doesn’t need much introduction. His neighbor, Strokkur, will blow steam high in the air a few times per hour for our delight.

No, due to high number of no shows in 2022 we decided to stop allowing guests to pay on arrival. Now you can only pay all the amount when you are booking. The tours from port are customized around cruise time frame so if your cruise docks late your guide will wait for you and the guide will also make sure to bring you back to the cruise in time.

Venture into the beautiful Thingvellir national park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site only about 30 miles from Reykjavik, and ranking at the top of Iceland’s attractions. This national park offers outstanding sceneries of mountains surrounding a vast lava plain covered in green moss and wild flowers. Head to the Geyser area where you’ll see hissing springs, bubbling pools and other geothermal phenomena. Lunch will be served nearby, amongst these scenic surroundings.

Another highlight of your day is the Gullfoss waterfall. The ‘Golden Waterfall’ is the most famous of the country’s many waterfalls. Here, the river Hvita drops 96 feet in two falls, creating an awesome spectacle. Being located on an old magma chamber, Hveragerdi is notorious not only for its abundance of hot springs, which heat the community’s greenhouse industry, but also for its earthquakes.
