Josh Turner Reveals Songs on ‘King Size Manger,’ Announces Holiday Tour

king size tour

We now know the songs on Josh Turner ‘s upcoming Christmas album, King Size Manger , as well as the dates for his first-ever holiday tour! The South Carolina native will kick off his Holiday & The Hits Tour on November 18 in Holland, Michigan, wrapping up the tour with a show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on December 20.

“Making a Christmas record can be a mighty daunting task for an artist,” says Turner. “There are so many songs to choose from and there’ve been so many versions of those songs throughout history. It can be intimidating to know whether you’ll be able to measure up to what’s already been done and when I get to that point, I step back and remind myself that I have to do what I hear in my heart.”

Turner has classics like “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Silent Night, Holy Night” on the album, along with four originals, three that he co-wrote.

“You may be surprised to hear my arrangement on some of these songs that you know so well,” Turner says. “We had a lot of fun throwing out all the preconceived notions of what a Christmas record should sound like. In my opinion, it’s about the words and the heart and soul of how a song sounds. You don’t need jingle bells on a song to make it a Christmas song.”

Turner’s wife, Jennifer, appears on King Size Manger , along with their four boys. Rhonda Vincent also appears on “Joy to the World.” King Size Manger will be out on October 8. See a track list below. Pre-order King Size Manger , and find tour dates, by visiting his website.

Josh Turner Is Releasing a Christmas Album With a Joint Holiday Tour

Josh Turner is looking ahead to the holiday season with his first-ever Christmas album,  King Size Manger,  which he'll release on Oct. 8. A month later, on Nov. 18, he'll embark on a supporting tour, the Holiday & The Hits Tour.

King Size Mange r was a family affair for Turner. His wife and four sons are featured on the album, joining him on the classic "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Though getting to call the family into the studio may have been fun, the country star says the project wasn't easy.

"Making a Christmas record can be a mighty daunting task for an artist," Turner says in a press release. "There are so many songs to choose from and there've been so many versions of those songs throughout history. It can be intimidating to know whether you’ll be able to measure up to what’s already been done."

Turner was able to focus and get the job done by staying true to his brand and putting his own spin on things. "I step back and remind myself that I have to do what I hear in my heart," he says. You may be surprised to hear my arrangement on some of these songs that you know so well."

"We had a lot of fun throwing out all the preconceived notions of what a Christmas record should sound like," he concludes.

Five of the 11 songs on  King Size Mange r were arranged by Turner himself. The project includes four original songs, in addition to well-known holiday classics.

Turner's supporting holiday tour will hit 16 cities and come to a grand closing at the Ryman Auditorium just before Christmas, on Dec. 20.

Josh Turner Announces New Holiday Album + Tour

Country superstar Josh Turner has officially announced his first Christmas album, King Size Manger (out Oct. 8 on MCA Nashville). The holiday album features fresh interpretations of several classic Christmas songs and introduces four originals written or co-written songs by Turner himself. Turner is also joined by some very special guests including his wife and four boys singing a holiday classic, which is a family tradition that the country singer wanted to feature on the album. To take things even further, the country singer decided he would embark on a 16 city Holiday & The Hits Tour .

About the album, Turner stated, "Making a Christmas record can be a mighty daunting task for an artist. Cobra King Tour, King CB/MB irons: What you need to know

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2020/08/KCobra King Tour, CB, MB group photo.jpg

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Cobra’s latest iron introductions include a revamped King Tour model and an update to the company’s CB/MB model. All employ a five-step forging process that not only produces repeatable shapes and spec tolerances, but enhances the feel of the iron as well. A King Tec utility iron also was introduced for those needing more help getting their long irons airborne.

PRICE/AVAILABILITY: The Cobra King CB/MB irons are $171 per iron while the King Tour irons cost $185 each. The King Tec utility irons are $229 in steel and $249 in graphite. All are In stores Feb. 3.

Most traditional irons use a two- or three-step forging process, but these irons use a five-step process that more effectively aligns the grain structure of the metal and reduces the number of voids. This process allows for tighter control of the weight specs and reduces the amount of hand polishing, leading to a more precise clubhead. The grooves are milled into the face so they can be manufactured closer to the USGA limit. A channel behind the hitting area is filled with a thermoplastic urethane to keep the feel just right.

More on this club

3 COOL THINGS

1. A heavy hit. The word “forged” is bandied about so freely in golf that many assume all forms of forging are the same. That’s nowhere close to the truth, and all three of Cobra’s new irons (King CB, King MB and King Tour) illustrate that point well. That’s because each goes through a five-step forging process to deliver irons with not only a pleasing feel, but a more precise shape.

Most forgings are a four-step process, so what’s the big deal about an extra hit? As it turns out, quite a bit. During the final step, each iron is struck with 2,000 tons of pressure at 700 degrees Celsius (or nearly 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit). That allos the irons to require less polishing, which can reduce inconsistencies and improve weight tolerances. It also allows for more uniformity with face flatness and loft and lie angles.

“The five-step forging process is critical to both the feel produced at impact by each of our new King irons as well the consistency of performance,” said Tom Olsavsky, VP of R&D for Cobra Golf. “Players who desire the feel of forged want a soft sensation at impact rather than one that’s overly crisp, and our process delivers the desired sensation. But forgings can also be lacking in consistency due to the challenges involved in the forging process, all of which we’ve improved on by creating forged irons with superior precision from clubhead to clubhead. Players who favor forged irons now have the option to enjoy all the benefits of a forging with the consistency normally associated with cast products.”

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2020/08/Cobra King Tour iron 2023.jpg

2. Same name, different club. Although carrying on the King Tour name from its predecessor, the latest version is a bit of a departure. For starters, while the previous King Tour used a metal-injection-molding (MIM) process to create the clubhead, that’s no longer the case. Instead, the aforementioned forging process delivers the consistency of MIM while delivering a pleasing feel.

king size tour

To improve on feel, Cobra had its carbon-steel heads undergo a five-step forging process (in which the force is increased with each hit). This led to a clubhead with better grain alignment that achieves the type of soft, crisp feel better players seek. Although clearly a club designed for single-digit players, the weight placed in the toe area provides the kind of stability that allows slight mis-hits to still have distance to carry that front bunker instead of landing in it.

A key to the forgiveness factor is the CNC-milled undercut in the back cavity of each iron, which allows weight to be repositioned from high center to lower center and the heel and toe areas of the clubhead. This not only increases launch but provides more forgiveness on off-center strikes. These cavities progress from deeper in the long irons (for enhanced stability) to shallower in the short irons (for better control with the scoring clubs). A thermoplastic urethane fills the cavities to keep the feel just right. The company also is introducing its latest King Tec utility irons for those needing more help with their long irons.

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2020/08/Cobra King MB iron 2023.jpg

3. The choice is yours. This progressive set—where more forgiving cavity-backs are used up to the 6-iron before transitioning to more controllable muscle-back irons for the rest of the set—might not appeal to the largest audience, but it is a discerning one. Which is why some of the smaller details should not be overlooked. Take the milled face and grooves to enhance spin control or the added bonus of Cobra Connect—electronically enabled Lamkin Crossline grips with the Arccos system that, when paired with the Arccos Caddie app, allow players to track their stats. There’s also the ability for golfers to choose where the break in the set occurs or go full cavity-back or muscle-back.

2023 Cobra KING Tour Irons Review

More in irons:.

PING Blueprint S Irons

50 Words or Less

The 2023 Cobra KING Tour irons feature five step forging that delivers a wonderfully soft feel.  Sleek cavity back technology enhances performance while offering forgiveness.  Don’t let the Tour designation dissuade you, these irons are playable by a wide spectrum of better players.

Introduction

“KING Tour” isn’t a new brand for Cobra, but the 2023 version of the irons is clearly a full remake.  Besides the aesthetics, the big storyline is the forged construction.  Forging is nothing new for irons, but Cobra added a fifth forging to the normal four step process to “deliver unmatched soft feel and precision shaping.”  Curious as to what that final step entailed, I discovered that “each iron head is subjected to 2000 tons of pressure at 700-degrees Celsius, forming an extremely uniform and isotropic internal grain structure.”  I don’t know about you, but to me that sounds pretty impressive.

For in the bag appeal, the 2023 KING Tour irons certainly display upgraded looks compared to the prior release [full review HERE ].  The toned down text size and streamlined cavity medallion offer a look  more in harmony with the “players iron” moniker.

At address the narrow topline and slight offset will appeal to the better player.  Cobra states that the 2023 version is slightly shorter in length than its predecessor, but I still wouldn’t categorize the head as compact.  For me, that’s what makes the 2023 KING Tour irons so intriguing – they check a lot of “players” boxes without being intimidating.

Sound & Feel

I’ll jump straight to feel as it’s so soft and satisfying that it will surely be the first thing you’ll notice.  The five step forging certainly is a major factor in the soft feel, but Cobra added two other influencers:  a TPU insert and an aluminum medallion.  Both do a wonderful job at dampening vibration .  If you prefer some punishment to your hands with a slight mishit, the KING Tour irons might not be for you.  For me, having subtle feedback on strike location without ever feeling harsh is a plus.

In a similar fashion, sound was also fairly consistent across the face.  I wrote “solid ‘thwack’” in my first test session field notes.  As I worked through the irons, I began to appreciate how well the sound and feel aligned .

Performance

First, I want to circle back to that TPU insert .  You can see in the above photo the black TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) in the cavity of this 2023 KING Tour iron.  By milling the back of the clubhead for the insert, Cobra was able to reposition weight towards the heel, sole, and toe.  Think perimeter weighting for stability and forgiveness .  I enjoyed the fact that I didn’t have to be dead center on my strikes to get consistent distances.

At the same time, the depth of the milling varied allowing designers to position the CoG for playability .  Deeper cavities for lower CoG in the long irons assist with launch.  Shallower cavities in the shorter irons add to control and precision.  I appreciate that Cobra understands that many of us mortal golfers need help as we move up the bag.

2023 Cobra KING Tour Irons soles

Trajectories were optimal and very consistent with the 2023 KING Tour irons.  The 5 and 6 irons had playable rollout while the 7 and 8 maintained ample stopping power.  I loved the towering flight of the 9 and PW.  I play on a course with a few large oak trees that often impede my direct route to the green.  Trusting my ability to clear the tree, flight a ball low under the canopy, or work the ball around the branches is crucial, and the KING Tour irons really delivered.

The 2023 KING Tour irons come stock with KBS $-Taper shafts, which are just too heavy for me.  Fortunately Cobra offers a great array of shaft options including my preferred Mitsubishi MMT graphite shafts [full review HERE ].  With the simplified online customization, I also opted for my gamer Golf Pride MCC+4 grips [review HERE ].  I didn’t need to adjust length, loft, or lie but it’s worth noting that those options are also readily available – the tour van experience without leaving your house .  As always, if you haven’t been fit properly, take that first step to enjoyment.

Cobra lists the Tour irons for the handicap range of “TOUR – 7.”  As a current 12, I contend the irons are more approachable.  I understand the “Tour Cavity Back” descriptor Cobra assigned for differentiation, but I would designate the irons more in the Players Distance sector.  The bottom line is to not get hung-up on lanes – find clubs that perform well for you and are appealing to your eye.  For me, the 2023 KING Tour irons are those clubs, with the added bonus of wonderfully soft feel.

do you have the offset specs per iron? and would you say in terms of shape / blade length & tech, are they more like titleist t100s or t200? o

' src=

Offsets are listed on the Cobra website – there’s a link at the bottom of my review. I’m not familiar enough with the Titleist irons to offer any comparison.

' src=

Thanks Meeks.

Cobra’s “Tour – 7” kind of scares off the “average” golfer. Thanks for helping debunk that. Will add these to the trial queue.

' src=

Nice review. Those are beautiful looking irons. I had the original version, the Amp Forged irons, and as much as I like those clubs, the orange badging was definitely a bit much.

' src=

I need my iron set to include 3, and 4 iron. Why discontinue those iron

You jumped to a wrong conclusion Errol. Feel free to visit the spec chart at the end of the review.

' src=

Matt… OT buddy Sprague here. I’m shopping for new irons. Which clubs are guaranteed to go straight at OT? :)

For you Mr. Sprague, only a putter is guaranteed to go straight. In the hole is another issue. I strongly recommend you visit Jay at Club Champion around the corner and get fit for irons. He can’t work miracles, but I’m willing to bet all of Jackson’s money that he can have you hitting greens.

I’m going to test these, cannot find a single negative review and they look stunning. Interested in combo of 6-7 Tour and perhaps 8-PW CB. Would be curious to know what type of bomber Cobra could offer me in the 5 iron. Looking for high ball speed forgiving, easy to launch off deck. Great review here.

' src=

I just got fit for them, they blew away ZX7, 225, P770 and the usual players. The review is spot on about the feel, I’ve never felt “addicted” to the feel of a club till these. Now I am playing the waiting game!

Curious to see how they compare to PXG Gen 5 in terms of distance and feel. they look beautiful as do the CB/MB. What I’m really trying to determine and this might be a really stupid question but I’ll ask anyway, does getting more distance out of an iron actually equate to lower scores.

My simple answer would be no. Spin and landing angle would be much more important for most golfers. That said, if those parameters are equal, more distance is beneficial.

' src=

My theory, from decades of personal experience, is that being able to keep your tee shot in play and having a decent short game is what enables amateur golfers to score reasonably well. I’ve shot in the 70s and the 90s with blades. I’ve shot in the 70s and 90s with super game improvement irons. When I shoot in the 90s it’s because my driver isn’t cooperating and I can’t get up and down. When I shoot in the 70s I mostly hit my driver well and get up and down at a decent rate. The irons I’m playing have basically zero impact on my score. What are your thoughts?

I’d contend that it’s actually a three part equivalency. Driver, irons, and short game (including putting). When all three are “on” you and others can shoot in the 70s. Two of three gets the 80s. And when only one aspect is going you can still play in the 90s. But everyone is a little different. Thanks for sharing your observations regardless.

' src=

What MMT shaft do you play? I also play MMT, but the parallell shaft 80S in my PXG blades. I know that the taper tip plays a lot different compared to the parallel.

I had been gaming the 80 in regular flex. Just switched brands. You can always find the details of my setup in my WITB page – LINK .

Thanks for reading.

' src=

How are they compared to 23 P770 in terms of forgiveness?

Sorry Stephen, but Matt Saternus reviewed the TM’s.

' src=

I went to the Cobra website to configure a set and sadly their shaft selection is almost empty. Nothing hardly is available. What is up with that?

' src=

Has anyone else compared these irons to the 2016 King Forged Tours or the previous iteration called Fly Z + ?

' src=

Hi Matt, you reviewed the previous iteration the MIM, as well as this current gen. This review has only one comparison with the MIM, as upgraded looks. In your subjective personal view, what would be your comparison of the 2023 King Tour and the previous 2021 King Tour MIM? In terms of strike feel, turf interaction, setting up to the ball etc. Understand the MIM were KBS taper shafts and these 2023 King tours are MMT, some natural differences there.

Too much time has passed for me to offer fair comparisons Alex. That said, the 2023 iteration seemed vastly better overall.

Cobra King Tour/CB/MB Irons Review

Introduction.

The 2024 Cobra King irons has been making some serious waves in the iron market in recent years, and their year’s King lineup is no exception. The King series features three different models: the King Tour, the King CB, and the King MB. Each model is designed for a different type of golfer, but they all share some common features that make them stand out from the competition.

Table of Contents

Model Breakdown

Here is a detailed breakdown of the three models of Cobra King Tour irons and what type of golfer they best suit:

Cobra King Tour

The Cobra King Tour is the most forgiving of the three models. It has a larger head size and a more offset design than the CB and MB models. This makes it a better choice for golfers who want a little more forgiveness on off-center hits. The Tour model is also a good choice for golfers who want a little more workability than some other game improvement irons.

Cobra King CB

The Cobra King CB is a more traditional blade-style iron. It has a smaller head size and less offset than the Tour model. This makes it a better choice for golfers who want a more precise iron that they can work the ball around the greens. The CB model is also a good choice for golfers who have a lower handicap.

Cobra King MB

The Cobra King MB is the most blade-like of the three models. It has a very small head size and no offset. This makes it a better choice for golfers who want the most precise iron possible. The MB model is also a good choice for golfers who have a very low handicap.

Here is a table that summarizes the key features of the three models:

Ultimately, the best model for you will depend on your individual playing style and preferences. If you are looking for a forgiving iron that you can still work the ball around the greens, then the Cobra King Tour is a good choice. If you are looking for a more traditional blade-style iron that you can shape your shots with, then the Cobra King CB or MB are good choices.

Which Model Right for You?

The best way to decide which model of Cobra King Tour iron is right for you is to try them out at your local golf store. Hit some balls with each model and see which one feels the best to you.

If you are a high handicapper who is looking for a forgiving iron, the King Tour CB is a great option. If you are a better player who wants the ultimate in feel and control, the King Tour MB is the way to go.

No matter which model you choose, you can be sure that you are getting a high-quality iron that will help you improve your game.

The Cobra King Tour irons feature a number of technologies that are designed to improve performance and feel. These include:

5-step forging process

Creates a soft, responsive feel.

CNC-milled Undercut

Lowers the center of gravity and increases ball speed.

Dampens vibrations and provides a more solid feel.

Progressive Sole Design

Provides more forgiveness in the long irons and more control in the short irons.

  • Lofts: 26° (7-iron), 28° (8-iron), 30° (9-iron), 32° (PW)
  • Lie angle: 61° (7-iron)
  • Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold 105 (S), True Temper Dynamic Gold 120 (X)
  • Stock grip: Golf Pride MCC+4
  • Head weight: 306 grams (7-iron)
  • Face thickness: 2.3 mm
  • Cavity depth: 2.5 mm
  • Head weight: 302 grams (7-iron)
  • Face thickness: 2.2 mm
  • Cavity depth: 2.4 mm
  • Head weight: 298 grams (7-iron)
  • Face thickness: 2.1 mm
  • Cavity depth: 2.3 mm

As you can see, the specs for the three models are very similar. The main differences are in the head size, offset, and face thickness. The Cobra King Tour has the largest head size and the most offset, while the Cobra King MB has the smallest head size and no offset. The face thickness is also slightly thinner on the Cobra King MB than the other two models.

Pros & Cons

  • Soft, responsive feel
  • High ball speed
  • Forgiveness
  • Consistency
  • Not as forgiving as some game improvement irons

Actual User Comments

Here are some positive user comments about the Cobra King Tour irons:

“These irons are amazing! They feel so soft and responsive, and they launch the ball high and far.” “I’m a 7-handicap, and these irons are perfect for me. They give me the forgiveness I need, but they still allow me to work the ball.” “I’ve never hit irons this well before. The ball flight is perfect, and the feel is incredible.”

The 2024 Cobra King irons are a great choice for golfers of all skill levels. They offer a combination of soft feel, excellent forgiveness, and traditional looks that is hard to beat. If you’re looking for a new set of irons that will help you improve your game, the Cobra King irons are definitely worth considering.

Additional Information

The Cobra King irons are available in both right- and left-handed models. They are also available with a variety of shaft options, including steel and graphite. If you’re not sure which shaft is right for you, be sure to consult with a qualified club fitter.

The Cobra King irons are a great value for the price. They offer a lot of performance and features that are typically found in more expensive irons. If you’re looking for a new set of irons that won’t break the bank, the Cobra King irons are a great option.

King vs. Chopped vs. Razor Tour pack: which one should you pick for the most comfortable experience?

We use affiliate links and may receive a small commission on purchases. Read more about us .

When it comes to picking up a tour pack for your Harley Davidson, there are three different options available. The first one is the King, the last one is the Chopped, and in the middle, there is the Razor Tour pack.

But how do you choose the best option for your model? Well, we are here to make you comfortable with your decision. In this particular article, we will be talking about the differences, similarities, and all the features you will get from these three tour packs.

At the end of the article, we believe you will have specific knowledge to pick up the right gear for you.

Without any further I do, let’s get into it-

King vs. Chopped vs. Razor Tour pack

Is a tour pack worth it?

A tour pack is nothing cheap. For a good quality tour pack, you have to spend around 600 to 800 bucks. That is when the ultimate question comes into mind. Is a tour pack worth it?

Yes, a Tour Pack is worth the budget when you really feel the importance of having some extra space to carry your necessary accessories.

When you want a tour pack only for luxury, it may lose its appeal within a short time. But when it becomes a necessity, spending that much budget behind a tour pack is never a luxury.

A dedicated tour lover needs to carry different tools and accessories with him when it is about going on a long tour. That is when one will feel the dire importance of a tour pack.

Besides, a casual rider who needs to go out every day also needs to carry some necessary gear to reduce the chance of obstruction in the middle of work. Therefore, a tour pack can also come in handy to give the most versatile support at that particular moment as well.

King vs. Chopped vs. Razor Tour pack

Let’s get into the main discussion now

harley tour pack

The king tour pack is the real tall one. King is larger than the rest of the two. Therefore, when you prefer a larger option to improvise the spacing, the King should be the most ideal option.

The Razor, on the other hand, is the real short one on the list. This tour pack looks pretty impressive at the first glance, but it comes with a real short construction. Therefore, versatility will be well ensured, but you may have to sacrifice the space a little.

In the middle, there comes the Chopped one. This one is a little smaller than the king but a little larger than the Razor version. Therefore, when your preference is to stay neutral in the middle, the Chopped version of the Tour pack should bring the most optimum experience with your Harley Davidson.

King is for the long tour, the Razor is for roaming around the town, and the Chopped one fits both circumstances.

The larger spacing area allows you to carry a large number of accessories inside of the king tour pack. Therefore, the king tour pack will be an ideal option when you have a plan to go on a long tour with your Harley Davidson.

The smaller size of the Razor tour pack does not allow the rider to take a large number of accessories inside of the Razor tour pack. Therefore, you can choose the Razor tour pack when you will roam around the town. Taking a small helmet, a gym bag, and something like that will be convenient with a Razor tour pack.

In the end, the chopped tour pack will allow you to make a neutral decision. The chopped version will not say anything when you take it on a long tour; neither will it make any disturbance when you roam around the town.

King has a bigger backrest, whereas Chopped and Razor are almost the same

We have already mentioned earlier that the King tour pack is the real ideal solution for the long tour. It justifies our comments by adding a larger and comfortable backrest on it. The backrest is indeed comfortable to give you long-lasting support when you will be on a long tour.

In another part of the presentation, both the chopped and Razor version of the tour pack comes with the almost same size of the backrest. Therefore, you can always go for them when you have a plan to travel a mid or short distance.

What you can keep inside of a King tour pack?

Being the largest tour pack on this list, King can accommodate more accessories than the rest of the two counterparts. Here are some of the things you can keep inside of a King Tour pack-

  • Two full-size helmets.
  • A full backpack.
  • A sleeping bag and a full-face helmet (maybe with a  little force)
  • A gym bag and a half-face helmet.
  • Two beer packs.

What you can put inside of a Chopped tour pack?

The chopped one is the mid-size edition on the list. Therefore, you will not be able to accommodate even a single full-face helmet on it. Other than a full-face helmet, this tour pack should sufficeenough to accommodate one single unit of everything you can think of. Here are some of the things you can think about taking with you inside of a Chopped Tour pack-

  • Two half-face helmets.
  • A backpack.
  • A sleeping bag.
  • A beer pack.

What you can put inside of a Razor tour pack?

Being the smallest tour pack on this list, Razor does not have enough space to let you go on a long tour. Like the chopped pack, Razor also does not allow you to take a full-face helmet inside of it. You can think about taking the rest of the things inside of a Razor pack but only a single unit.

Here are some of the things you can think about carrying inside of a Razor Tour pack-

  • A couple of caps.
  • A couple of gloves.

Let's talk about the look.

Let's be a little straightforward in this particular aspect of the presentation. If you believe that the look of your tour pack really matters, this section should come in handy to pick up the right looks for your Harley.

Looks of King Tour pack

The bulky construction of the king pack seems a little temperate while comparing to the rest of the two packs. But that is not the only thing that should define its quality. The king is a three-day tour pack, whereas the rest of the two can support you for around one to two days. Therefore, when importance is the first priority other than the looks, the king is the most wholesome tour pack available.

We are not saying that the King Tour pack looks almost barren. Nope, that is not the case at all. The color of the King pack could be a little crisper. But it is always okay to make your Harley looks far more lucrative and stylish.

Looks of Chopped Tour pack

The Chopped, being the mid-size tour pack on this list, looks a lot better with your Harley. The crisp color with the decent finishing makes this one a stylish tour pack to install on your Harley.

The inclusion of the mid-size backrest and a quality color combination should suffice to please any users.

The chopped edition is also a great pack when you prioritize quality over the look. The mid-size construction should give you the authenticity to go on a tour for one to two days when you have this tour pack for your Harley Davidson.

In terms of look, this one is not altogether bad. Decide first whether you really need one tour pack or not. If it is really a matter to you, the look is precise enough to make you comfortable.

Looks of Razor tour pack

When it comes to the style and look, the Razor tour pack is the most lucrative and stylish kit available on the list. Almost ninety percent of the users will agree to the fact that the Razor pack looks simply stunning after the installation on every Harley Davidson model. The perfect satin finishing with a crisp color makes this one an ideal device for look and productivity.

It is indeed true that the Razor tour pack is smaller than most of its counterparts. But this one also comes for daily purposes where you will require smaller loads to carry with you.

That means when you are passionate about going out every day with your Harley and need to carry a stylish pack to carry your utensils; no other tour packs can beat Razor.

Which one is perfect for you?

We are almost at the end of this article section. If you summarize the whole writings above, there appear three conditions that define which one should be a perfect choice for you-

King is for three to four days long tour.

A long tour is impossible without a convenient tour kit with you. When you have a Harley, a long tour becomes much easier with a King Tour pack. One of the ideal reasons this one is a perfect kit for the long tour is its larger size. The larger space compared to the rest of the two counterparts allows every rider to carry a large number of tools with him. As a result, traveling becomes more fun and exciting.

Besides, the larger and comfortable backrest that comes with the King tour pack allows the rider to feel comfortable when they are on the go.

That is why the king tour pack will come out to be the most ideal companion when you are likely to go on a long tour every now and then.

The chopped tour pack is for the casual rider

The chopped, which is the mid-size tour pack, on the list would be an ideal option for the casual rider. The medium space will allow you to carry moderate accessories inside of it. When you tend to go out with your Harley for about two to three days a week, this tour pack should be an ideal companion that you can have for your Harley.

The Razor is for all-day users.

When you need to go out every day and need to carry a smaller amount of accessories with you, the Razor tour pack can come out to be the most ideal option available on this list.

It is indeed true that Razor is smaller than compared to the rest of the counterparts. But that is what makes it ideal for the everyday user.

When you need to carry a simple backpack with a laptop inside of it, the Razor is the ideal supplement. Besides, carrying a half-face helmet or even a sleeping bag is also possible when you have a Razor tour pack.

Are you find harley davidson riding boots for women see out previous article.

Final summary

  • A tour pack can always turn out to be an ideal companion to make any kind of touring ride more comfortable and convenient.
  • When it comes to picking up a tour pack for the Harley Davidson, the Razor, chopped, and King are the three most popular and convenient tour packs available.
  • Pick up the King pack when you need a larger space to go on a long tour.
  • The chopped version should fit better when you regularly go for a casual drive.
  • The Razor tour pack should make any everyday rider comfortable with its versatility.

Queen vs. King Size Bed: Dimensions, Differences and What to Consider

Queen and king size beds are the most popular sizes. Here's everything you need to know before choosing the best mattress size for you.

Couple shopping for a mattress.

As your family grows, so does your need for a bigger bed. When you sleep with children or pets, it's critical that there's enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. One of the most common debates couples have is whether to invest in a queen or king mattress. As two of the largest standard mattress sizes , they're both popular fixtures in many homes, but they can each serve a different purpose.

Before you begin shopping for mattresses, this is what you need to know about queen versus king mattresses.

Queen vs. king

Queen mattress.

A queen mattress is one of the most common bed sizes available today. It measures 60 inches wide by 80 inches long, making it as long as a twin XL and king mattress . However, it's not as wide as a king mattress, which gives you 16 extra inches for considerably more space. It's also not as big as a California king , which is the largest of the standard mattress sizes and is both wider and longer than a queen bed.

  • Fits couples comfortably.
  • Accommodates smaller rooms.
  • Room for a smaller child or pet.
  • More affordable bedding.
  • Doesn't give you as much room to move around.
  • Not much room for older or multiple children in the bed.
  • May be too short for taller people.

Who is a queen mattress best for?

A queen mattress is best for couples or single adults who want a little extra room while they sleep. There's also plenty of room for a small child or pet.

For many people, a queen size bed is the perfect compromise: There's enough room for cosleeping , and it fits into most bedrooms nicely, giving you extra room that you just don't get with a king mattress.

Portrait of a queen size bed.

Best queen mattresses

Based on CNET's in-depth study of queen mattresses , the best queen mattress is the Brooklyn Bedding Signature . It's one of the best mattresses in a box you can buy, and is made right here in the US. As a hybrid model, this mattress uses over 1,000 pocketed coils with a luxurious 1.5-inch quilted top and three different firmness levels. It gives a plush feel you can sink into without sacrificing cushion or support. You also have the option to add on a cooling cloud pillow top. Even better, it's one of the more affordable picks on our list at $1,300.

We find that the Purple Restore Hybrid is helpful for those who run hot at night or need to stay cool next to a hot sleeping partner. It uses what it calls a Purple Grid, made of hyper-elastic polymer that cradles your body without a suffocating feeling, and it's all topped off with a cooling layer to fight nighttime sweats. However, it is pricey, running over $2,000, so it's the best pick when you want to splurge.

We also recommend the Nectar Premier to those looking for a memory foam mattress. It has a four-layer construction that includes gel-infused memory foam with ActiveCool HD technology and a quilted cooling cover. There are also five firmness levels to choose from; either way, you get some much-needed pressure relief with motion isolation. As an added bonus, a one-year trial and lifetime warranty are included.

King mattress

The standard king mattress measures 76 inches wide by 80 inches long with a total surface size of 6,080 square inches. You can also make a king by pushing two twin XL mattresses together, with each twin XL measuring 38 by 80 inches. A king is the second-largest bed size after a California king, which is both longer and wider than a king bed.

  • Plenty of room to move around.
  • Accommodates couples and kids.
  • Space for pets.
  • Fits most master bedrooms.
  • Too big for smaller bedrooms.
  • Harder to move.
  • More expensive.
  • Not as many bedding options.

Who is a king mattress best for?

A king mattress gives you the extra room you just don't get with a queen. For larger couples or people who move around a lot in their sleep, a king bed gives you more space. It is also wide enough to accommodate small kids or pets who share your bed .

However, a king size bed does require more room than a queen. That makes it most ideal for master bedrooms, but it could fit in smaller rooms if you don't mind losing the extra floor space.

Portrait of king size bed.

Best king mattresses

While Brooklyn Bedding and Nectar Premier also win our picks for the best king mattress , they're not the only models we have our eye on.

If you prefer a firm mattress , the Saatva Classic boasts a dual-coil design for a supportive feel that will stand up to your body weight. There are three firmness options, so you can pick exactly the right firmness for your comfort. This mattress is pricey at $2,000, but it comes with a one-year trial and lifetime warranty for incredible value.

When you have back pain , the Amerisleep AS5 Hybrid can feel like a dream. It's a soft mattress with pressure relief through a pocketed coil construction. Amerisleep uses a careful combination of Bio-Pur memory foam with an Affinity Transition layer to add a little more firmness to the design.

If you're on a budget, consider the Allswell mattress from Walmart. It is extremely affordable; with a price tag under $400, it is one of the cheapest hybrid beds available today. This is a mattress that works with all body types and sleeping positions, offering a versatile build with a comfortable foam design that works for most people.

What to consider before choosing between a queen and king bed

Before you buy a mattress, these are some considerations to help you decide between a queen mattress and a king mattress.

Room size

The size of your room is key to determining which bed size is best for you. A queen mattress fits in smaller rooms, with the recommended size being at least 10 by 10 feet to fit comfortably. Because a king mattress is so much larger, it's recommended for rooms that are 12 by 12 feet or more. Plan on two to three feet of space between the wall and your bed so there's room for you to move around.

When it comes to budget, a queen mattress is generally cheaper than a king. Prices run the gamut, but average $850 to $1,200 for a queen mattress and $1,000 to $1,700 for a king mattress. How much you spend will ultimately depend on the manufacturer and the type of mattress you buy.

Sleeping preferences

How you sleep is also an important consideration. If you move around a lot, you may be best suited by the wider design of a king bed, while a queen bed is generally sufficient for those who tend to stay in place while they sleep. Your sleep position can also make a difference; side sleepers tend to sleep curled up, requiring less space than back sleepers or stomach sleepers , who sleep stretched out and need more room.

Type of mattress

There are many types of mattresses, from soft to firm and everything in between. Many mattresses tend to run medium to medium-firm because that's a middle-of-the-road option that appeals to most sleepers. The construction of your mattress matters, too. If you want the best mattress for pressure relief, a memory foam mattress could be the best pick for your body's needs. A hybrid mattress , on the other hand, uses both a combination of memory foam and latex or innerspring to add a little more bounce to your bed.

Your height can be a major consideration when shopping for a new mattress. If you're taller than 6 feet, a queen or king is going to be the best fit for your body. A California king is recommended for people up to 6 feet, 7 inches so they have the extra length.

Before you head to the store, be sure to check out our picks for the best mattresses as a starting point for your search.

Adrian Belew (L) and Steve Vai are teaming up for the King Crimson 'BEAT' Tour.

In the late ’60s, King Crimson was one of the most influential prog-rock groups in the world.

After disbanding in 1974, guitarist Robert Fripp reformed the band in 1981 with new members Adrian Belew , Bill Bruford, and Tony Levin. The quartet took their sound in a wholly new direction with their three African, post-punk, and minimalist albums “Discipline,” “Beat” and “Three of a Perfect Pair.”

Now, more than 40 years later, King Crimson sans Fripp and Bruford will take that trio of records on the road for their 2024 ‘BEAT Tour’ with guitar virtuoso Steve Vai and Tool drummer Danny Carey.

Along the way, the legendary outfit will stop into New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Oct. 5, Red Bank, NJ’s Hackensack Meridian Theatre on Oct. 9, Rochester’s Kodak Center on Oct. 19 and Albany’s The Egg on Oct. 21.

While Fripp isn’t part of the tour, he did give the upcoming jaunt its blessing.

“This is the project that Adrian Belew called me about last autumn, a project which I support and fully encourage, and discussed with Steve Vai recently at McCabes in Santa Monica. Even, I suggested the name,” the 77-year-old shared on Facebook .

For fans who want to see the daring rockers live, tickets are available for all concerts as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 5, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Steve Vai tour 2024

On top of the King Crimson tour, Vai is touring with pals Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson on their ‘G3 Tour’ up until May.

Soon after, the  ‘Satch/Vai Tour’  will take off sending the pair — who have played together since Satriani was Vai’s teacher when they were teens — on the road for another three months.

For a closer look, you can find all of Vai’s 2024 tour dates here .

Tech Overview

While traditional irons utilize a 4 step forging process, the KING irons add a fifth step to deliver exceptional soft feel that better players demand. Each iron is crafted and 5-step forged from 1025 carbon steel for a more uniform grain structure and precise shaping.

A key to the enhanced forgiveness of the TOUR irons are the CNC milled undercuts in the back of each iron, which allow weight to be repositioned to lower CG for improved launch conditions, and more stability on off center hits.

The CNC milled cavities are filled with a TPU material and topped with an aluminum co-mold medallion, which both damp vibrations for a more pleasing sound and feel at impact.
