When I went there, some construction, the total was OK, the weather was too hot, the queue was better than the domestic ~ Ctrip was still very convenient to buy tickets ~ Children are still suitable for Disney ~ Global relatively not cold ~

Incredible rides especially if you're familiar with Marvel. Lights camera action, Transformers, Mummy, Puss in boots, Galactica are absolutely don't miss rides. If you're lucky you can queue and take pics with Mascots. The park closing time is weird and it opens late and closes early causing over crowding and at least 1 hr wait time per ride, the management can do something about this at least open the park by 8am or close it by 8pm to allow more time for visitors.

Bring Xinlan young couple to Universal Studios~ Although it is much smaller than Osaka ..., many ..., many ..., but the maneuvers that should be played are brushed to ~ (Mummy roller coaster I hate you) Although Pocheng's February rainy day, on this day in the world, the weather is super powerful~ The lockers are not as said on the Internet. The sky-high price, it is free to take out within 60 minutes~ Just calculate the time by yourself~ The only fly in the ointment is that eating, really reporting eating ... is well known, the preventive injection is done in advance, but the report is really reporting eating ...

It is worth going to Battlestar Dual Rollercoaster Children 4+3 brushed Playing quite high Cylon is more fun than Human than the average roller coaster weightlessness is not so strong, it is suitable for me Mummy revenge also brushed twice

Why can't you go to Singapore to go to the world? It is recommended to buy fast hahaha, after all, when you go abroad, you have to cherish the time to play more projects. A lot of roller coasters are very exciting. I am afraid of heights, but I still sit. People who are unwell should be cautious in ~, but anyway, overall it is a very unforgettable journey. I look forward to friends to experience it.

USS is a must visit place in SG. My toddler enjoyed it there. It is convenient if you bring your own trolley / stroller although there are availble that are for rent in USS. There is a limited rides for toddler since moat rides need a height requirement in order to take the ride. My toddler was able to ride treasure hunt, dino soaring and spaghetti ride. We were able to watch shrek 4d and trolls. Unfortunately not able to meet and greet bumblee bee since we were already too tired in the aftrnoon

Tickets for Universal Studios, Singapore

Buy your Universal Studio tickets online to save time queuing for them when you get there. You can also save money by buying them in advance!

You can also buy an Express Pass (skip the line once on each ride) or an Express Unlimited pass (skip the line as many times as you like). If you are there on the weekend or during school holidays, buying an express pass may be well worth your money.

Be Weather Ready: Singapore’s weather is often very unpredictable, in a single day you may have to face strong heat and unexpected rain. Be sure to take sunscreen and sunglasses along, as well as a poncho if you don’t like to get wet!

Comfortable Walking Shoes: There is a lot of walking around Universal Studio’s, so comfortable walking shoes are a must! There is NO requirement for closed in shoes, so sandals are fine to wear.

Money: You cannot bring food into Universal Studios so if you plan to eat, know that everything costs $5 and up. It is best to prepare cash in advance if you are traveling from overseas, but there are ATM’s near some of the food areas.

Try to pack light so it is easy to carry your things around for the day.

NOTE: There are storage lockers available for your bags if you don’t want to take them all day.

Arrive Early to Beat the Crowds

Arriving early allows you to beat the crowds, and helps make the most of your day. Universal Studio’s opens at 10am. If you want to take a photo with the Universal Globe, situated at the entrance to the park, arrive at least 30mins before the park opens.

Otherwise, I suggest arriving prior to opening time so you can still be one of the first to enter the park. This way you can make the most of the busiest rides before the crowds arrive. This is a great option if you can’t spend the extra money on an express pass.

Ride the Cyclon, Human, Transformers: The Ride and Jurassic Park Rapids first, as they get the busiest!

TIP: Rides are also less busy towards the end of the day!

Wander Around Universal Studios

Take in the amazing décor of Universal Studios as you wander through each world. There are plenty of photo opportunities and sights to see along the way.

Hollywood: This is the main street entrance, where you come into the park. Be sure to walk to the end and take in the views over the water.

New York: Take a walk down the backstreets of New York; they give the perfect opportunity for photos!

Sci-Fi City: You will find the most thrilling rides in Sci-Fi City, so start here to give you an adrenaline rush for your day! You can also do a meet and greet with a Transformer, a pretty neat experience.

Ancient Egypt: Ancient Egypt has been so well designed. With huge mummies and ancient temples, it really transports you back in time.

The Lost World: Otherwise known as Jurassic Park, The Lost World is just like in the movie. Be sure to check out the giant dinosaurs!

Far Far Away: Home of all things to do with princesses, magic, and ogres.

Madagascar: I actually felt like I was in the movie while in this world! It had everything from King Julien’s Tree House, to the huge Cargo Ship!

Best Time To Visit Universal Studios Singapore

To make the most of all the outdoor attractions, including Universal Studios, the best time to visit Singapore is probably from December to June.

To be more precise, the months of February to April are Singapore’s dry season and this is when there is the least amount of rain, lowest humidity and the most sunshine.

Universal Studios Singapore is one of the top tourist attractions and can get crowded on weekends and school holidays.

So, if you want to avoid some of the crowds and queues for rides, weekdays out of peak season are generally less busy.

Universal Studios Singapore should be right up there on your Singapore bucket list !

We had an unforgettable day and, as you can tell by the photo below, we need no excuse to act like children and relive our childhood.

Best Rides At Universal Studios Singapore

With Studios also in Florida, Los Angeles and Japan, Universal Studios is an absolute must on your Singapore itinerary .

Fun for all ages, it may be the most expensive part of your trip but it’s totally worth it.

Transformers: The Ride

What better place to start than the Transformers ride!

Our favourite of the Universal Studios Singapore rides, join Optimus Prime and your favourite Autobots as you become a freedom fighter for the day.

Race through the city, zipping through subway tunnels, down city streets and across high-rise rooftops, hanging on for dear life in the ultimate 3D battle against the forces of evil.

With simulated drops, intense motion and some awesome special effects, this exciting ride gets the adrenaline pumping from the get-go!

Transformers Ride Universal Studios Singapore Rides

Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon

Choose your side, Human or Cylon, as you engage in the ultimate intergalactic battle between good and evil on the world’s tallest dueling roller coasters!

The Human coaster is designed for riders who love a rapid roller coaster experience without inversions and reaches speeds of up to 90 kph.

In contrast, the Cylon coaster performs some intense manoeuvres that include five different inversions and you are suspended from the track with your legs hanging free.

Similar to the now closed Dragon Challenge at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, these coasters have several, what feel like, near collisions as they come within inches of each other.

This is the highest and most intense of the Universal Studios Singapore rides so be prepared for this one! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Battlestar Galactica Ride Universal Studios Singapore Rides

Revenge of the Mummy

Instructed to ‘Find the gold Book of the Living and destroy Imhotep’s curse’, guests climb on board the waiting mine-cars.

As the ride progresses you become immersed in the search for the book whilst surrounded by fireballs, swarms of beetles, an army of warrior mummies and more. All whilst in total darkness!

With near crashes and twist and turns, you’ll be holding your breath, especially at one point when the ride accelerates from 0 to 40 kph in a matter of seconds!

Hold on tight, as this inside rollercoaster takes you through all sorts of motions as you try to escape the evil mummies.

Revenge Of The Mummy Ride Universal Studios Singapore Rides

Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure

Prepare to get wet!

Jump into a white water raft and enjoy an exciting adventure along the lines of the famous Jurassic Park Movie.

Meet huge animatronic dinosaurs that sometimes shoot and immerse yourself in the exciting, escaped dinosaur theme of the ride that might have you thinking ‘what if’!

You’ll be tossed about on the waterways within the Jurassic Park compound where things go a little astray and prehistoric creatures roam free.

Finally finishing with a pretty long drop that sees you splash down into water and promises a good soaking to complete your Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure.

Jurrasic Park Rapids Adventure Ride Universal Studios Singapore Rides

Technically it’s not one of the Universal Studios Singapore rides, but it’s an amazing cinematic experience!

Join Princess Fiona, Shrek and Donkey on a honeymoon adventure that picks up where the Oscar-winning movie ‘Shrek’ left off.

With all the normal Shrek story humour, scrapes and chases you will become totally immersed in this 4D experience.

So sit back and enjoy this action packed movie, complete with jumps, bumps, bounces, air blasts and water spray that really bring it to life.

Shrek 4D Ride Universal Studios Singapore Rides

Other Attractions Not To Miss

An amazing action packed show based on the popular film Waterworld it has lots of futuristic design elements.

Along with plenty of death-defying stunts, including thrills and spills from real explosions of fire and water.

The whole performance involves some great acting along with excellent special effects and an easy to follow plot.

Also, the seating closest to the water is divided into wet and dry areas with different coloured seats. So choose carefully!

Definitely one not to be missed!

The Mel’s Dinettes are a vibrant female group of singing, dancing waitresses who shake, rattle and roll to the high energy hits of the 50’s and 60’s at Mel’s Dinner.

The Cruisers are the ‘coolest of cool’, all-male singing group who impress with their harmonies and dance moves, whilst singing hits also from the 50’s and 60’s

Where To Eat At Universal Studios

Mel’s drive-in.

If you’re looking for a typical American burger whilst at Universal Studios Singapore, then Mel’s Diner is the only place to go!

This 1950’s style diner was made famous as a feature location in the classic 1973 George Lucas film Graffiti .

Interestingly, the Graffiti cast included the young, up-and-coming hopefuls Ron Howard, Harrison Ford and Richard Dreyfus!

After a busy day roller coasting, most people are looking for something solid to fill up on. So with its air conditioning, and really cool iconic American theme, the burgers and fries are flying out from behind the grill here.

Prices are mid to high at Mel’s Diner, but when you’re in a theme park it’s kind of expected!

Our Favorite Rides in Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore’s theme parks are enormous, with much to see.

But you can narrow down the places you want to spend time if you know the rides that appeal to you and your family.

For instance, if you’re going with your partner or have a younger child who enjoys rides, these are our top recommendations:

No. 1: Transformers The Ride (The Ultimate 3D Battle)

The ride is one of the most popular rides in Universal Studios Singapore! This ride is perfect for families with younger kids or those who don’t enjoy roller coasters.

It’s a 3D adventure that takes you on a journey through time and space. This ride has special effects that are beyond impressive and makes your eyes pop out of their sockets.

There are also great audio-visuals to keep your attention throughout the 3D experience.

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, Transformers The Ride is not for you, but if you’re looking for good old-fashioned fun, this ride will provide it.

Here is the video highlight of the Transformers – The Ride.

No. 2: Revenge of the Mummy

The Revenge of the Mummy zone is the perfect spot for a family that isn’t too adventurous.

The rides in this zone include the Jurassic Park River Adventure and the Universal Studios Singapore Train Ride.

Prepare to be bombarded on all sides by massive fireballs, swarms of scarab beetles, and an army of warrior mummies that materialize out of nowhere from the darkness.

Will you be able to escape Imhotep’s curse, or will you be trapped inside forever?

No. 3: The Lost World Jurassic Park – Rapid Adventure

At Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, you will be amazed by this super-huge dinosaur park adventure.

Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure lets us live in the Dinosaurs era, which happened millions of years ago. This is possible because the design is so artistic and has a lot of details.

There are a lot of dinosaurs from different times, so they look alive and scary. As in Jurassic Park movies, you can also go on a small roller coaster, take a boat across the river, and experience suspense.

Here is the video highlight of the Lost World Jurassic Park

No. 4: Battlestar Galactica (Human vs. Cyclon)

The Battlestar Galactica zone is an excellent place to visit if you have a teen who enjoys thrill rides. It features one rollercoaster, the Tidal Wave, one of the most thrilling rides in Universal Studios Singapore. Unlike other zones dedicated to specific franchises like Harry Potter, this zone is more about telling a story with its land and attractions.

There are two main rides: Battlestar Galactica (Human vs. Cyclon) and the Medusa Freak Out, where you ride on an elevator and watch an animatronic rock-and-roll band perform before being dropped into the pit below. What is the best time to visit this zone? Anytime!

This zone is open 24/7, so it’s always possible to visit at any time of day. The only restrictions are that guests must be at least 3 feet tall on the ride.

NB : Please monitor the accessibility because this thrill ride will go for maintenance for some period.

No. 5: Canopy Flyer

The Canopy Flyer is a fun ride for children and adults. It has a gentle slope that’s perfect for those who don’t love the sensation of roller coasters.

It would be best if you didn’t miss this thrilling roller coaster in the Lost World zone when you go to Universal Studios Singapore. This roller coaster is hilarious and not too scary. It is good for people of all ages, so anyone can ride it. Everyone in the family sitting on a roller coaster and looking down at the world full of wild dinosaurs makes for a very comfortable and relaxing space.

No. 6: Puss In Boots Giant Journey

The Puss in Boots Giant Journey ride is a fun roller coaster for all ages. It’s in the KidZone area, with rides designed for smaller children. The first part of the ride is a colorful 3-D film, and it starts slow before delivering a rush of speed that causes riders to bounce up and down. It’s not one of the park’s wildest rides, but it’s still worth checking out if you want to spend time on something different from the typical thrill rides in Universal Studios Singapore.

Other Rides Recommendation

Shrek 4d adventures.

Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase

Sesame Street is a must-see for guests of all ages, but the best time to visit is during the day. Guests are admitted from 11 am-4 pm on weekdays and 9 am-11 am on weekends.

It is great if you’re looking for something more low-key with rides that appeal to toddlers and young children. It’s also a nice break from the screaming kids in the rest of Universal Studios Singapore if you want a more relaxing experience.

If you plan on visiting Universal Studios Singapore with your partner, this zone will be good for you because it has smaller, enjoyable rides. It’s also best for people who don’t want to wait in long lines because the zone is smaller.

Universal Studios Singapore Guide 2023: Perfect 1-Day Visit!

universal studios singapore guide

Universal Studios Singapore guide – Living in Indonesia, we’d only heard of families we knew visiting Universal Studios but hadn’t visited it ourselves. So after visiting many places in Singapore , the last one I visited was this ever-lively spot.

I decided to write about this visit now as I haven’t had the opportunity to travel now. Since I visited Universal Studios Singapore a few years ago before the pandemic, access to attractions and regulations of visiting have changed.

Still, I’ll keep the basic details of entry ticket prices, timings, things to do, and some tips updated for you on this Universal Studios Singapore guide .

Table of Contents

Universal Studios Singapore Guide

Universal Studios is a part of RWSentosa and is a paradise for all age groups. Some rides are age-restricted, some height-restricted, and others also look for health conditions. But there’s always something for everyone to do here! The Singapore Zoo and Universal Studios are simply must-visits for kids.

The National Gallery of Singapore and Singapore River Cruise at Clarke Quay can get cheap but boring for kids. It’s expensive but keep this gem on the list.

Tourists from all over the world visit this theme park. After all, it’s the only Universal Studios in Southeast Asia . With the water rides, roller coasters, and 4D shows, it’s similar to the attractions most theme parks have. But what makes Universal Studios different is of course – the themes!

The park lies over 20 acres of land and consists of 7 themes. In case you don’t have an idea about the spot, search for Universal Studios Singapore guide or map and download its pdf for reference.

It should look like this:

map of universal studios singapore

It doesn’t matter whether you’re aware of all the characters, themes, and buildings that represent the movies and shows of Universal Studios, the theme park is a fun place for all!

Though I explained some characters like Shrek and the Donkey to my parents, they’d enjoy the show anyhow. So don’t worry about all the jokes and references and go straight for those rides.

Universal Studios Tickets and Pricing

  • One Day Ticket to Universal Studios
  • Universal Express Pass
  • Universal Express Unlimited
  • Adults (13-59) – SGD $82
  • Children (4-12) – SGD $61

The Universal Express / Express Unlimited passes are add-ons to purchase after you get your one-day ticket. The express passes give you the fast lane to your rides and save you time in waiting for your participation turn.

  • The Universal Express costs SGD $65 and allows you on the express lane only once for each ride.
  • Express Unlimited pass at SGD $95 lets you ride on the express without having to wait in the queue with no limits.

The express passes are applicable only for one-date and one-day tickets. It’s best to purchase the express passes only when you’re short of time or visiting on-peak hours. During the weekdays, the one-day ticket is sufficient.

Things to know before visiting

guide to universal studios singapore

Here are the essentials of the Universal Studios Singapore guide before you visit :

How to Get there?

  • Best time to visit
  • What to pack when visiting USS

Universal Studios is one of the largest attractions in Singapore and it’s a vast place. Due to the pandemic, the tourism spot had shut down for months. But tourism, being a large income to Singapore, it’s open for tourists again.

However, there are many conditions for travelers and Singapore’s serious about its rules. Stay updated on the travel regulations before visiting.

  • Read on the latest Travel to Singapore during Covid-19 restrictions on CNN.

singapore universal trip

Take the Sentosa Express monorail from HarbourFront, Vivocity to get to Universal Studios Singapore. Get down at the first stop – Waterfront.

You see, Universal Studios is part of Sentosa Island and there are several ways to get there:

  • Take the Boardwalk : It’s free to walk or cycle to Sentosa Island over the Sentosa Boardwalk. Also, getting to Sentosa Island for tourists is easier for travelators along the Boardwalk. It’s a good workout!
  • Public Bus/RWS8 bus : Singapore public bus charges differ from where you board the bus to arrive at Vivocity Merrill Lynch or HarbourFront. Then take the RWS8 bus (Shuttle bus) into Sentosa.
  • Private Cars : Cars are allowed inside. The parking rates between timings vary.
  • Monorail : This one’s my favorite! You get a great view of the island from above – it’s beautiful and worth it! The monorail comes under public transport. You can switch to the monorail easily when traveling with MRT – it costs SGD $4 .
  • Use the Cable Car

Another post for you to read: River Wonders Singapore Review: 5 Rare Creatures to Spot!

universal studios singapore monorail

Having used the cable car before, the Sentosa Express was a sweeter option. We used the monorail while entering and leaving Universal Studios.

As we were visiting from Batam Riau, all we had to do was get to HarbourFront, Singapore by ferry (BatamFast) and find the monorail station in that mall.

Best time to Visit

The best time to visit Universal Studios Singapore is the non-peak days. Anytime is good to visit but crowds will make you weary and wait longer. Avoid the weekends . But with the pandemic, there’s not much option:

  • As of 28 Feb 2021:   USS is now open for visitors from 12 pm to 7 pm on the weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only). The pandemic has changed its timings since the last time I visited some years ago. Keep alert to the pandemic and its open timings before visiting.

You wouldn’t need to wait long for rides during the weekdays hours even without the express pass.

Also, in case you have your tickets prebooked, get to the USS as early as possible – even on weekdays. Singapore’s known for its tourism and the USS never fails to have huge numbers of tourists visiting. Get to the Universal studios early to avoid waiting in long queues.

Trust me about this queue, we waited  over an hour to get into the theme park –  thus it had to be on this Universal Studios Singapore guide.

What to Pack when visiting USS

Universal Studios Singapore guide : That’s one bright side when it comes to waiting in lines here, there isn’t much to pack. Wear comfortable clothing and you’re good to go!

universal studios singapore guide

Nevertheless, here are some essentials to pack for Universal Studios Singapore :

  • Wear light clothes and put on comfortable footwear, you’ll be walking a lot. (preferably shoes)
  • Bring a change of clothes : Though not all, some water rides can get you wet.
  • Carry an umbrella . An umbrella or a raincoat comes in handy when it rains. It rained a short while when we visited and we hadn’t any to cover ourselves!
  • Keep a power bank handy . Make sure to keep your devices fully charged and keep a power bank for backup.
  • Water bottles
  • Stroller and toys for children. The long queues are tiresome for children. The stroller and some toys to keep them busy will come really useful here. Though my brother could walk back then, we had his pram along and it saved us energy when he slept for half the trip.

Visual Sketch of the theme park

This is the best part of this Universal Studios Singapore guide – the description from a traveler’s perspective. With a pond at the center of the park and the 7 themed zones surrounding it, it makes the place more spacious.

As every zone has doorways to two others, a tourist simply has to keep walking from one zone to another. There’s no confusion as to which zone to visit first. You’ll walk into the zone – Hollywood when you enter USS.

Through Hollywood , one gets into the beautiful setting of New York with classic cars and sidewalks. From there, just keep walking through to the next zones!

Want to write travel blogs? Here are some courses on Udemy I picked for you to kickstart your travel writing – hurry before you miss out on deals!

singapore universal trip

Since the theme park is gigantic, I took time to realize that we were actually walking in a circle. By evening, we made it back to Hollywood again to exit – but this time emerging from Madagascar.

Accommodations near USS

With Universal Studios placed on Sentosa Island – one of the most popular tourist spots in Singapore, there are plenty of accommodations to choose from.

There are many stays to choose from in Sentosa Island itself and around HarbourFront. Here’s a map of hotels listed on Booking.com in and near Universal Studios Singapore along with their prices:

However, the prices on the island are much higher than normal stays in Singapore. For budget or solo travelers, if you’re looking for a place to crash for the night, check out dormitories and pod stays (My favorite is the Spacepod at lavender ). Getting an individual room in Singapore is expensive.

HostelWorld stays offer basic essentials such as a bed, wifi, and sometimes breakfast at cheap rates. They’re great when you’re planning to tour Singapore longer with a tight budget.

Zones at Universal Studios Singapore

This is about what to expect in each zone and my experience of it – a Universal Studios Singapore guide through each zone. We weren’t aware of the zones until we started walking through huge gateways into other themed worlds.

It doesn’t matter whether you know the themes beforehand as you’ll walk down all of them. However, to make sure you don’t miss anything here’s a tip:

Universal Studios Singapore guide : Once inside, pick up a map of the USS and guide yourself across the zones:

  • Sci-fi City

Ancient Egypt

  • The Lost World – Jurassic Park

Far Far Away

  • Back to Hollywood (Entrance)

USS New York is my favorite among all the themes. The main attractions here are the  Lights! Camera! Action!  hosted by Steven Spielberg and Spaghetti Space Chase.

universal studios singapore new york, universal studios singapore space chase, uss spaghetti space chase

I loved strolling the streets more than the attractions here. The pathways, streetlamps, and the building settings – even the benches, and dustbins match the classic theme!

Meet and Greet: Here, the characters you get to visit are Sesame Street and Woody Woodpecker . We got to see the performance by Sesame Street:

Sci-Fi City

galactica universal studios singapore, roller coaster universal studios singapore, uss galactica

Remember the head-turner giant rollercoasters you see in most pictures when looking up for Universal Studios Singapore – yes this is where they are.

The humongous roller coasters –  Battlestar Galactica rides are the key attractions of this zone. There’s also the meet and greet with the Transformers here.

Rides in Sci-fi City

  • Battlestar Galactica – Human (Red) and Cylon (White)
  • Accelerator
  • Transformers 3D battle

The Galactica roller coasters have the longest queues in USS and it can take hours to get on the ride. The place being confusing, we went through the doors of Transformers 3D battle. Only after some minutes did we realize that it wasn’t Galactica.

singapore universal trip

But the queue behind us had piled up, so we decided to go for this anyway – and it was awesome! After that, I looked up at the Galactica ride and decided to take a step back,  not this time.

And the accelerator would churn up our stomachs, so we decided to move to the next zone after the 3D show.

Another post to check out:  Bali 7 Days Itinerary: The Complete Guide

I couldn’t go on the Galactica ride, but I did get on Revenge of the Mummy. This one’s also a terrifying roller-coaster ride, except it’s  in the dark!

The ride takes you slowly at first with mummies on the screens around then it stops at a wall. Without warning, the cars start moving back and down a deep pit – yep, the roller coaster starts backward.

I’d waited a long time with my mom in the queue for this one and it was totally worth it!

Rides in Ancient Egypt

  • Revenge of the Mummy
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Character meet and greet – Eqyptian Royalty

Rides aside, the theme of Ancient Egypt is beauty with its enormous statues.

ancient egypt universal studios singapore

The Lost World: Jurassic Park

Unlike the last zones, there’s greenery in The Lost World. It’s a nice spot to sit down and have a feast (just be careful of dinos around).

The Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure and the WaterWorld show are the features of this zone. The rapids adventure is an easygoing ride. Except for the end where the water vessel lifts you off the water and pushes you down a steep slide.

The ride was so fun I went on it twice – once with dad, then with mom. Since my brother was young, he couldn’t come and had to stay back with one of us.

the lost world universal studios singapore, jurassic park universal studios singapore

Some other rides here are Waterworld, Canopy Flyer, Dino-Soarin, and Amber Rock-climb.

We missed out on the Waterworld show. As we were getting late, we had to move on. But don’t miss it, it’s an awesome show! The Lost World is where most of the wet attractions are – especially Waterworld and Rapids Adventure.

  • Also check out Meet and Greet – The baby dinos meet and greet are something not to miss for kids. Both the Raptor Encounter and Hatched! are worth watching.

The castle building setting (Shrek 4d Adventure), Enchanted Airways, and the Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey made up for most of the majestic design of this zone.

I went for Enchanted Airways first with my dad. The Enchanted Airways in USS is smaller than the Revenge of the Mummy and Galactica roller coasters, but the cars themselves being small, the ride turned out to be edgy and fun!

Later, the Donkey LIVE opened up – and boy was it funny! The audience interaction and the donkey speaking right to us makes the show worth the wait.

Since Puss in Boots Giant Journey was a slow-going ride with a lot of queues, we skipped it.

At last, we went into the 4D Shrek show. As a lot of audiences are allowed in for the show at once here, it doesn’t take long to get in for the show. As we were getting late, we couldn’t meet the characters in Far far away – Shrek, Princess Fiona, and Puss in Boots.

Another ride in this zone is the Magic Potion Spin which is an indoor Ferris Wheel for kids.

Shrek 4D universal studios singapore, 4d Shrek Far far away uss, far far away uss

As a kid, Madagascar was my favorite series – Alex, Marty, the Penguins, and even King Julien! Madagascar zone featuring A Crate Adventure is a simple water ride yet it was nostalgic to me. It was a pleasant ride.

This zone, Madagascar features 2 rides :

  • A Crate Adventure
  • King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round

The Party-Go-Round is a Carousel for kids with all the Madagascar characters to sit on and King Julien’s favorite songs playing.

My brother with his sleep round 2 missed the carousel. But hey, he was happy when he woke up!

Back to Hollywood

Finally, we were back in Hollywood to the entrance of Universal Studios Singapore again. The attractions here are Elmo’s TV Time and Turntables.

But the characters meet are more popular at this entrance

Character Meet and Greet Hollywood USS

  • Illumination’s Despicable Me
  • Dreamworks Animation Trolls
  • Aloha Talk – King Kahula

For the Despicable Me characters, we were looking forward to meeting the minions (Minion show), but we were too late.

That ends this post on my visit and Universal Studios Singapore guide . It took us 1 whole day at USS and we still had some missed out rides.

But overall, it was a great time. I’d visit it again if I get a chance – and get on that Galactica! USS isn’t just for kids, it’s a world for everyone!

Picture Credits : Apart from the map, most pictures are by my dad in this post. The car pictures in the New York zone are my shots. And lastly – credits to my parents for taking us to the USS!

  • Vanessa R 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Not worth the money. I was really looking forward to this experience, but after arriving and entering the zoo it was 8pm, we then queued for over and hour and a half to get on the tram for the tour. The tram ride took about 20 mins, a lot of the animals were not visible and the tram did not stop at any of the animals, so trying to take photos of the ones we did see was very difficult. By the time we finished the tour we had been there for well over 2 hours and were really over it. We decided not to walk back around the park as it would have taken another couple of hours on foot and it was already after 10.30pm. We went to the souvenir shop to purchase something to remind us of the trip only to not be able o find anything with the zoo actually on it, it was all generic animal stuff, when I asked the shop assistant why there was nothing with Singapore Zoo on it I was informed they were sold out of everything. Overall a very disappointing experience. Read more Written 29 August 2023
  • sueandlindabeech 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles This is a review on the lead up of trying to get our tickets for Universal Studios In the past we have been able to get our barcode tickets emailed to us whenever and wherever we have travelled and had to make bookings. On more than one occasion I was advised by the pick up company that the tickets would be sent by email even up to the day before the transfer (17th April) this never happened and if I had received them I would have onforwarded the email to the reception desk and ask for them to be printed. We had been on the Duck Tour and the tickets were emailed to me, no problems no questions asked, no identification to be provided. In a follow up email( the day before the pick up) I was then advised by the pick up Company that I needed to take a copy of our passports and send it to them??? before I could have my tickets. I said I would show them our drivers licenses on the day of the pick up. The driver arrived on time on the 18th May at 0830hrs (time suggested by Viator) and we provided our Drivers Licenses – he took photos of our cards?? and then requested he take personal photos of us??, to validate the cards. We are constantly told in Australia to be careful of our passports and other legal documents because of an increase in Identity Fraud, and yet here we are being subjected to overkill scrutiny for tickets that were paid for. Finally, he requested the Smartphone so he could access her phone to put an App on in order to transfer our tickets. The phone was handed over to give him access as it seemed we were NEVER going to get our tickets to the theme park. All I asked for was the tickets to be emailed to me and confirmed by email on 3 or 4 occasions that this would happen - how hard could this have been and so easy, it was to say the least very distressing. We found the whole rigmarole totally unnecessary and intrusive, and to add further annoyance, we arrived at Universal Studios by 0900hrs only to find out it did not open until 1100am, and lots of people had hard copies of their tickets. We paid for the tour, it was our choice to have tickets sent to us and this should have been adhered to. The questions goes begging how does one without a Smartphone get tickets???? Finally how can you justify $220.00 per person one way transfer and entrance to Universal Studios when the entrance fee is only $84.00… Read more Written 8 June 2023

The journey by ferry takes about one hour, the reservation included the ferry return tickets and a private guided tour of Batam with one-hour massage included. All was nice, maybe not the nicest place on earth and quite different from the luxurious resorts in Bali and other Indonesian highlights, but all the same ok, it was a nice diversion from Singapore. What really made a good day was our guide, Irvin, who was waiting for us to arrive at Batam ferry terminal and stayed with us the whole day, very friendly and conversational, polite and funny, it was just like visiting an old friend and spending time with him for a whole day. During the tour we saw a very interesting Buddhist temple , a coffee factory and a bakery where they bake the traditional layer cake. You can buy coffee and cake if you want but you are not forced to, it’s really up to you. A nice traditional lunch and a fantastic massage we’re also included. Read more Written 8 October 2019
