Intim club-show in Malmö. Mostly songs from new album plus some older hits. A little bit mechanical performance, which is understandable after over a year on the road and such a small audience.

Never the less, we enjoyed it very much together with the rest of the supporting audience.

It became very hot in the club after a while since the airconditioning was off.

Biografie - zucchero.

Zucchero ist ein Sänger, Komponist und Multiinstrumentalist, der als Vorreiter des italienischen Blues gilt. Der Musikstil des Künstlers, der sowohl in italienischer als auch in englischer Sprache singt, ist eine Mischung aus Blues, Rock und Gospel.

Geboren wird Adelmo Fornaciari, wie Zucchero mit bürgerlichem Namen heißt, am 25. September 1955 im Dorf Roncocesi in Nordostitalien. Schon mit etwa zehn Jahren begeistert sich Adelmo, der auf einem Bauernhof aufwächst, für Musik. Er lernt zuerst Saxofon spielen, später auch Orgel, Klavier, Schlagzeug und Gitarre. Zu seinen musikalischen Helden gehören der Soul-Sänger Otis Redding und die Rolling Stones.

Zwischen 1970 und 1978 lebt Adelmo Fornaciari in der Toskana und gründet mit Freunden R’n’B-Bands wie Le Nuove Luci, Sugar & Daniel und Sugar & Candies. Schon damals nennt ihn jeder Zucchero. Der Spitzname mit der Bedeutung "Zucker" stammt von einer seiner Grundschullehrerinnen.

Die Liebe zur Musik siegt

Geprägt von seiner Kindheit auf dem Bauernhof entschließt sich der tierliebe Zucchero zunächst, Veterinärmedizin zu studieren. Auch während seines Studiums an der Universität in Pisa tritt er an Wochenenden mit seiner Band auf. Inzwischen Ehemann und Vater einer kleinen Tochter, entscheidet sich der junge Mann schließlich für die Musik und bricht sein Studium ab.

Aus der später gescheiterten Ehe mit Angela Figliè stammen die Töchter Alice, geboren 1981, und Irene, die 1984 zur Welt kommt. 1992 lernt Zucchero die Schweizerin Francesca Mozer kennen, mit der er seither zusammenlebt. Sie bringt 1999 den gemeinsamen Sohn Adelmo Blue zur Welt.

Wie ein Zufall Zucchero zum Welterfolg verhilft

In seinen Bands steht Zucchero zunächst nicht am Mikrofon, sondern spielt Saxofon. Durch einen Zufall ändert sich alles: Zu einem Konzert seiner Band Le Nuove Luci erscheint der Sänger einfach nicht. Zucchero ist als einziger aus der Band textsicher, so muss er an diesem Abend einspringen und singen.

Der Rest ist Geschichte: Heute gilt Zucchero als Inbegriff italienischer Rocksänger – wenn auch der Start als Solo-Künstler etwas holperig verläuft. Obwohl er im Jahr 1981 mit dem Titel "Una Notte Che Vola Via" das Castrocaro-Musikfestival gewinnt, floppen die ersten Singles und Alben. Mit "Donne", seinem Beitrag zum Sanremo-Festival 1985, gelingt Zucchero dann endlich der Durchbruch.

Mit dem autobiografischen Song "Senza Una Donna", in dem er seine Scheidung verarbeitet , wird Zucchero auch international bekannt. Erfolgreich ist vor allem die Version, die er mit dem britischen Sänger Paul Young ("Love Of The Common People", "Every Time You Go Away") aufnimmt.

Italo-Rocker mit mächtiger Stimme und großen Emotionen

Vor Kollaborationen mit anderen großen Namen im Musikbusiness kann sich Zucchero seit seinem Durchbruch kaum retten. 1992 lädt ihn Brian May zum Freddie-Mercury-Tribute-Konzert ins Wembley-Stadion ein. Später arbeitet Zucchero mit Stars wie Eric Clapton, Miles Davis, John Lee Hooker, Sting, Mark Knopfler, Iggy Pop, Macy Gray oder Bono zusammen .

Seiner Produktivität im Studio tut das zum Glück keinen Abbruch: In kurzen Abständen veröffentlicht der Singer-Songwriter neue Platten. In Italien erobern seine Alben verlässlich die Spitze der Charts und heimsen eine Platin-Schallplatte nach der anderen ein. Für seine großen Erfolge erhält Zucchero im Jahr 2006 sogar den "Verdienstorden der Italienischen Republik". Fast ebenso beliebt ist er in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz und wird für seine Charterfolge mehrfach mit Gold und Platin geehrt.

Auch experimentiert Zucchero immer wieder mit anderen musikalischen Stilrichtungen und gewinnt so beispielsweise Luciano Pavarotti für seinen Song "Miserere". Mit "Discover" legt Zucchero 2021 sein erstes Cover-Album vor, das zu einer musikalischen Zeitreise von den 1960er-Jahren bis weit in die 2000er einlädt.

Zuccheros Touren durch Europa, die USA, Südamerika und Länder anderer Kontinente füllen regelmäßig große Hallen. Ken Carson has announced the 2024 Chaos World Tour, an extensive run of dates that will bring the Atlanta rapper across North America and Europe. He’s hitting the road in support of his new album, A Great Chaos , which came out last October. Find the complete list of tour dates below.

The 2024 Chaos World Tour begins in Orlando, Florida, on July 8 and keeps Ken Carson on the road until October 5, where he ends the run in Prague, Czech Republic. Along the way, he’ll perform in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Paris, London, Berlin, and Milan, among other locales. News of the tour arrives on the heels of Carson’s new track “ Overseas .”

Dear listeners,

A few weeks ago in our Friday feature the Playlist, I recommended a bubbly new single by the pop artist Sabrina Carpenter and made a bold prediction: “Get ready to hear this one everywhere.” Even more quickly than I imagined, the prophecy has come true. Last week, “Espresso” debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Carpenter’s highest charting hit yet. More important, it has taken over the nation’s psyche. You can hardly go anywhere these days without hearing someone quoting the song’s infectious hook “That’s that me espresso” or wondering aloud, “what is a ‘me espresso?’”

That’s a profound philosophical question for another day. Today, we are simply honoring the absurdist joy of “Espresso” with a playlist of songs about caffeinated beverages.

Coffee has been a consistently evocative theme throughout pop musical history, so this mix travels from 1940 right up to the present moment. That trusty beverage is often used to describe a sophisticated kind of romance (as it does on Otis Redding ’s swooning ballad “Cigarettes and Coffee”) or perhaps the idle hours waiting around for said romance to occur (see Peggy Lee ’s sultry take on the 1948 standard “Black Coffee”). Chappell Roan tries to use it as a shield against romance on a track from her 2023 album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” reasoning with a former flame, “I’ll meet you for coffee, ’cause if we have wine/You’ll say that you want me, I know that’s a lie.”

In “Espresso,” Carpenter uses the caffeine metaphor to suggest how restless she makes a guy she has wrapped around her finger: “Say you can’t sleep? Baby, I know.” Also, crucially, she understands that “espresso” rhymes with “I guess so.” That’s poetry.

2. Squeeze: “Black Coffee in Bed”

A memorable image — “there’s a stain on my notebook where your coffee cup was” — kicks off this smoldering, six-minute classic about trying to move on from a relationship while concrete memories linger all around. (And yes, that is Elvis Costello on backing vocals.) The British band Squeeze’s songwriter and guitarist Chris Difford revealed in a 2019 interview that an actual coffee ring inspired those opening lines: “Yeah,” he said . “I still have the notepad in my office.”

3. Peggy Lee: “Black Coffee”

The great Peggy Lee kicks off her 1956 debut album with an elegant reading of this song, written by Sonny Burke and Paul Francis Weber and first made famous by Sarah Vaughan. That titular brew helps her stay awake as she waits up for an absent lover: “I walk the floor and watch the door/And in between I drink/Black coffee.”

4. SZA: “Percolator”

This brief but effervescent track from the deluxe edition of SZA’s 2017 debut album, “Ctrl,” chronicles the singer’s insecurities and doubts before declaring, “I wanna be a percolator.” I’m just going to pretend she’s talking about the coffee kind.

5. The Ink Spots: “Java Jive”

This 1940 single from the pioneering vocal group the Ink Spots is a fun and slangy ode to a hot cup of Joe. “Slip me a slug from the wonderful mug,” singer Deek Watson croons, “and I’ll cut a rug till I’m snug in a jug.” And you thought “that’s that me espresso” was silly!

6. Otis Redding: “Cigarettes and Coffee”

Companionship and good conversation make an ordinary moment glow — “just talking over cigarettes and coffee” — in this warm, crackling ballad from Otis Redding’s “The Soul Album.” “I don’t want no cream and sugar,” he sings, “’cause I’ve got you now, darling.”

7. Chappell Roan: “Coffee”

This playlist began with one rising pop girlie, and it concludes with another: the suddenly ubiquitous Chappell Roan. Over a sparse but theatrical piano arrangement, Roan figures meeting an ex “only for coffee” is a better bet than meeting for dinner or drinks: “Nowhere else is safe, every place leads back to your place.” By the end, though, she’s not even sure a quick, caffeinated date is innocuous enough: “’Cause if we did coffee, it’s never just coffee.” Don’t even ask her about espresso.

At the IAB NewFronts 2024, Samsung Ads , the advanced advertising division of Samsung Electronics, highlighted why consumers and advertisers continue to turn to Samsung. The company unveiled a new lineup of premium sports, music, family and entertainment content on its leading FAST service Samsung TV Plus , in addition to new tools to enable advertisers to leverage AI for enhanced targeting and performance-driven outcomes.

Samsung TV Plus Adds Top Sports, Family, and Music Content

A Destination for Sports Fans

Samsung is expanding its investment in the Samsung TV Plus service with all-new premium programming partnerships.

The service, which grew over 60% year-over-year, announced a suite of major league channels that will deliver live sports from Major League Baseball (MLB), The PGA TOUR, the American Hockey League (AHL), and ONEChampionship (MMA), along with Formula 1’s first FAST channel. Highlights include:

• MLB: Samsung TV Plus and MLB are partnering up to bring the best of baseball coverage to FAST, allowing viewers to enjoy the MLB FAST channel with a weekly game replay, Minor league game replays, and game recaps, among other content exclusives to come later in the season.
• PGA TOUR: This new offering will deliver total coverage on all things PGA TOUR, with behind the scenes programming, documentaries, tournament recaps, highlights, competitions, and more.
• AHL: Samsung TV Plus will be the first FAST platform to air live American Hockey League games through the Los Angeles Kings affiliate, the Ontario Reign.
• Formula One Channel: We’re also delighted to have Formula 1’s brand new FAST Channel at launch. The Formula 1 Channel is the ultimate destination for fans to catch up on all the action from F1, F2, F3 and F1 Academy races throughout the season, including analysis, replays and documentaries.
• ONE Championship TV: The launch of ONE Championship TV will bring combat sports content to the service. Featuring unique live events to TV Plus, highlights, series and behind-the scenes access from the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Music, Mattel, and More Arrive Exclusively

For lovers of music, Samsung TV Plus is announcing an exclusive partnership with Warner Music, which will bolster the nearly 500 existing premium national and local channels already on Samsung TV Plus. The Warner Music content will be found in Samsung TV Plus’ recently launched dedicated Music destination, and will feature exclusive music playlists like:

• The Drop : A video on demand playlist experience that will tie to the launch of new album releases and will feature artist’s career retrospectives, behind the scenes content, interviews, premiere and new album content.
• Artist Odyssey : A chronological journey through a Warner artist’s catalog. There will be never-before-heard stories about the videos that impacted generations—all told through firsthand accounts from friends, video directors, label heads, artist managers, fans, and sometimes the artists themselves.

These channels come on the heels of Samsung’s milestone partnership with Mattel to launch three new channels, “Barbie and Friends by Mattel,” “Hot Wheels Action by Mattel,” and “Mattel Jr.” making the most iconic kids brands available to families across the country for the first time ever, on a premium, brand-safe FAST platform, accessible through a dedicated kids entertainment hub.

Samsung to Launch New Interactive Gaming Experiences

Samsung will be expanding games in a whole new way – transforming an ordinary ad break on Samsung TV Plus into a game break: an engaging, interactive gaming experience. Later this year, Samsung will soon roll out new games to kick off new ways to play without a controller:

Advertisers can sponsor Rivals Arena with interstitials in between gameplay and endemic brands will have an opportunity to cobrand the entire game experience.
• The Six: The Six is an interactive trivia game built directly into a Samsung connected device. Anyone with a Samsung TV remote can play The Six directly on their TV, while advertisers can cobrand the entire experience to drive brand engagement and recall.
