On Carnival Breeze, fun-fan faves like SportSquare ™ , and mouth-watering dining spots like Cucina del Capitano ® , are just the beginning of how this ship keeps the fun blazing. Speaking of blazing, enjoy the island atmosphere of the very cool RedFrog Rum Bar ® , or south-of-the-border taco goodness at BlueIguana Cantina ™ . There are many fish in the sea… and somewhere among the expertly-pruned bonsai trees, Bonsai Sushi ™ proves it. But don’t forget the ambiance of Guy's Burger Joint ™ — roadside-burger-shack style — featuring hot-off-the-grill burgers designed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri! Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse prides itself on premium cuts, cooked exactly the way you like 'em... plus gourmet appetizers and wine pairings. And to go just a little less refined, stop by Pizza Pirate for a hot slice, the Carnival Deli for a true classic, or Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse ™ to get a little messy with some signature — you guessed it — Guy Fieri BBQ. On this ship, you just can't get enough Guy! Carnival Breeze has the whole family covered — with water, that is — with a 320-foot-long Twister Waterslide ™ at Carnival WaterWorks ™ . Just for the kids there's supervised youth programs Camp Ocean ® , Circle 'C' ® and Club O2 ® . And for the bigger people, there's time to be spent doing blissfully nothing at Serenity Adults-Only Retreat ™ ... after pampering yourself at Cloud 9 Spa ™ , of course. Keep the fun going once the sun's done for the day by dancing in your seat at Playlist Productions ™ ... or if you prefer to do your dancing on a dance floor, check out Liquid Nightclub ™ . Speaking of liquid, Alchemy Bar ® serves up cocktail concoctions made with ingredients a little less ordinary and flavors a lot more interesting. Then there's always something funny going on at the Punchliner Comedy Club ™ . If you notice a bit of the outdoors inside, don't adjust your view. Carnival Breeze's staterooms — and many of the public spaces around the ship — feature a scintillating tropical décor and contemporary furnishings that'll transport you straight to warm Caribbean bliss.

Fall 2022 Carnival Breeze Cruise Review - Includes Pictures, Menus, & More!

Information About This Cruise & Me:  This was my 19th cruise and third time on the Carnival Breeze. I last cruised on the Carnival Breeze in May 2022. This cruise was September 22-26, 2022 and it departed from Galveston to Cozumel. I try to do the review in parts, by day. I took over 2,000 pictures and will try to include as many as possible of the ship, food, and ports. The review is on my personal cruise blog (no ads - just a hobby), which is also where you can find Daily What's Happening newsletters (former Fun-Times equivalent) and other scanned handouts from the cruise. I also captured the dining and bar menus shown on Carnival's Hub App and will be sharing these as well through the review.

Here Is The Review, Photos, & Fun-Times:

FULL REVIEW:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-cruise-review-4-day-2022.html   WHAT'S HAPPENING DAILY ACTIVITY NEWSLETTER:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-4-day-2022-whats-happening-daily-activity-newsletter.html   MAIN DINING ROOM MENUS:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-2022-4-day-main-dining-room-menus.html

VARIOUS BAR MENUS:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-2022-review-bar-menus.html   For those that do not want to click on external links, I will post the pictures from the review to Cruise Critic as I am going along adding them to my personal blog.

Let's Get Started With The Posting Of The Review...

(most is actually already written & posted to my blog so I will be able to copy & paste in portions to here to share with you all. It will take some time to copy & paste, but I will get it done as quick as I can)

DAY 1     Thursday, September 22, 2022 Galveston, Texas Scheduled Departure:   3:30pm

Waking Up Early To Start Cruise Day:                  I did not get much sleep the night before the cruise because I was very excited. My alarm was set for 4:45am, but since I was awake earlier I got out of bed to take a shower & finish packing. I was packed and ready to leave by about 5:20am, but since I did not want to leave too early I checked the Marine Traffic App on my phone to see the Carnival Breeze's location. The ship was a few miles from picking up the local Galveston pilot to come onboard to help the ship navigate the Galveston Harbor. At 5:45am we loaded the car and began our journey to Galveston!                    The drive to Galveston took about an hour & a half due to traffic along some spots on Beltway 8 and a couple of slow downs on I-45. Overall the drive down to Galveston was better than expected. As we approached Galveston I was able to see the Carnival Breeze's funnel from the Galveston Causeway, but due to being the driver I was unable to look around too much. After exiting I-45 for Harborside Drive we switched seats and I was able to take pictures of the ship from the passenger seat of the car. Below are some pictures I took as we made a pass by the Carnival Breeze on our way to McDonalds:

IMG_8411.thumb.JPG.1519f59b0339a144ec1b53dbeca02bc3.JPG

Since we did not eat breakfast at home, we stopped at the McDonald's along Seawall Boulevard by Stewart Beach. I ate a very light breakfast due to only being a few hours away from eating tons on the ship. My breakfast for the day consisted of a Sausage McMuffin & half sweet half unsweet tea. It was good!                 After finishing up eating it was time to head back to the Port of Galveston to get parked.

Parking At The Port of Galveston's Parking Garage & Arriving At The Cruise Terminal:                  For this cruise we parked in the Port of Galveston's Parking Garage. The parking garage is located across Harborside Drive from Cruise Terminal #1 and is very close to the crosswalk that cruisers can use to walk to Cruise Terminal #1 and #2. We chose to park in the Port of Galveston's garage due to the price offered at the time of searching for parking and proximity to the cruise terminal. Upon arriving at the parking garage we showed our parking confirmation to the garage attendant. He compared our reservation printout to a paper on his clipboard and then handed us a ticket to keep in the car's dash. We were allowed to park in any open spot, but were told that due to debarkation still place most departing guests had not yet picked up their cars.                     Finding a parking spot was actually very easy. We got a spot on the second floor that overlooked the Carnival Breeze. After parking, we took our suitcases out of the car and made sure the car was secure. I stopped and took a few picture of the Carnival Breeze from the parking garage. There is no shuttle service offered at the Port of Galveston's Parking Garage so all guests that choose to park here have to walk across the street. We wheeled our luggage out of the garage and crossed the street in order to line up at the crosswalk in order to cross Harborside Drive. It took a few minutes for the crosswalk signal to come, but the wait gave me an opportunity to take another picture of the ship. Once we got the signal to cross we were able to easily get across the street. Crossing through the cruise terminal's roadways was a bit more difficult due to cars & people everywhere.

IMG_8441_BR.thumb.JPG.2df94afd6af8126d83efa8ead3eb5210.JPG

The Carnival Breeze was docked at Cruise Terminal #1. Our first stop at the cruise terminal was to take our luggage to a porter for check-in. There were two porters standing by the luggage entrance and we were able to give it to one of them very easily.   Before taking our luggage we were reminded to make sure our passports and documentation was in carry-on and not in our bags that were getting checked in.  After checking in our luggage we headed to the other end of the cruise terminal for check-in. The doors to the cruise terminal were not yet open. A cruise terminal employee was outside helping direct people that were arriving, but until the doors opened cruisers were stuck sitting on a bench or on the cement walkway. Right before the cruise terminal doors opened more employees came outside to help guests enter the building.

IMG_0589.thumb.JPEG.ec7fd6e5c37631e9b59818dc4b38dec4.JPEG

Check-In Process:              When the doors to the cruise terminal opened we were directed to an identification checkpoint. The lady checked our passport & boarding pass. This was quick and took less than a minute. Next we were directed to security.  I had to empty my pockets and stuffed my camera bag with my phone, wallet, and the camera batteries I had in my shorts pocket. Going through security only took a few minutes and was a bit slow due to a limited number of lines being open.                 After going through security we were directed up an escalator to continue the check-in process. On the second floor of the cruise terminal we were directed to another check-in station. The lady working the desk asked if we did the Verifly app. Since we did the Verifly app we did not have to show our paper vaccine cards, but having this on hand was still required. The lady took my phone to look at the Verifly app to confirm it was completed. Next she took our passports & boarding passes. Each passport was scanned. Due to the lighting coming in from the window it took a little bit of time for the scanner to work right. Once everything was scanned and our boarding passes were stamped we were told to head to the seating area to wait for boarding.

When we approached the seating area, a cruise terminal employee looked at our boarding pass and told us we could sit anywhere. There were designated sections for suite guests and special assistance. Due to the Covid-19 protocols there was not a Captain's Lounge for Platinum & Diamond guests. Faster to the Fun was also not offered for this cruise due to the Covid-19 protocols. I miss the Captain's Lounge and having priority boarding. Hopefully that will be back soon! While waiting in the cruise terminal I walked over to the windows to look down at the pier and look at the ship. Luggage & food provisions were being loaded. I could see the passenger gangway in the distance. It looked like guests were still getting off the previous cruise.

Starting The Boarding Process:                 Around 10:30am a lady came over the cruise terminal loudspeaker to announce boarding was going to begin soon.  The announcements included information about how the boarding process would work as well as what to expect once on the Carnival Breeze. The information was the exact same as my previous cruises on the Carnival Breeze in May 2022 & December 2021. Boarding the Carnival Breeze is based on zones which are assigned after online check-in is completed and based on arrival appointment times. Suite guests are first and have "Priority" printed on their boarding pass. After suite guests have been called, the next zone is A01 and subsequent zones (A02, A03, B01, etc.) board next.  My zone number was A01 for this cruise.                 Before the boarding process was able to be started the cruise terminal staff asked that anyone standing in the main aisle clear the area. When guests did not move the lady announced she would not start boarding until it was clear. Most guests cleared except for a couple of difficult ones that needed a special invitation from another employee to move out of the way. When zone A01 was called over the cruise terminal loudspeaker I jumped up to get in line. An employee checked the zone number on the boarding pass to make sure no line cutting was occurring. To record boarding my picture was taken using one of Carnival's Smile & Go machines. The machines are fast and Carnival had multiple machines setup to expedite the process. After getting my picture taken we were directed up a long ramp that would lead to Cruise Terminal #1's gangway. Guests could stop and take a picture with Carnival's Pixels photography staff, but we passed due to wanting to get onboard.

Finally Onboard The Carnival Breeze!                 After walking up the gangway we entered the Carnival Breeze on Deck 3 in the ship's atrium lobby. One side of the atrium lobby was blocked with a rope to direct guests towards the atrium bar. Crew members were standing around to answer questions and direct guests to their assigned muster station. I went to the front elevator/stairwell area. I typically take the stairs throughout the cruise, but since an elevator was waiting we decided to get inside. Each elevator in the front had an operator inside to help direct guests. We told the crew member we wanted to go to the Lido Deck and within 30 seconds we were stepping off the elevator onto the Carnival Breeze's Lido Deck (Deck 10). The ride up was quick!                  Once we were out of the elevator we walked across the Lido Deck level of the Carnival Breeze's atrium. Some SPA staff were trying to sell treatments in the atrium.

IMG_8461_BR.thumb.JPG.481d527319bc16aa4817ea97f3299668.JPG

After exiting the Lido Deck level of the atrium we were outside by the Carnival Breeze's Lido Deck Main Pool. Looking up I was able to see the SeaSide Theater which was used to show movies at various times throughout the cruise. Six rows of deck chairs were setup outside by the Lido main pool. This seems like fewer chairs compared to pre-Covid times. On the sides of the pool area are the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar and Red Frog Rum Bar. I continued walking towards the back of the deck to enter the Carnival Breeze's Lido Marketplace buffet.

IMG_8464_BR.thumb.JPG.86d6d6cd519e46acb29adc59373ff0a2.JPG

First Lunch on the Carnival Breeze:                      The Carnival Breeze's buffet is called the Lido Marketplace. The Lido Marketplace had four buffet lines open and two dessert stations. Outside of the Lido Marketplace by the main Lido pool is Guy's Burger Joint and the Blue Iguana Cantina. At the back of the Lido Deck by the aft Tides pool, the Pizzeria and Seafood Shack lines were open. In the middle of the front section of the Lido Marketplace is the Mongolian Wok and in the middle of the aft section is the Deli.  I stopped to get some pictures of the food on the main Lido buffet line. Below are some pictures of the food on the first day's Lido Marketplace buffet line:

IMG_8472_BR.thumb.JPG.b1f6137dbc495c2b6959ccc689ef1b54.JPG

After looking at what was offered at the ship's main Lido buffet lines, I walked over to the dessert station. The Carnival Breeze's dessert station at lunch typically had 6 cakes to choose from, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and jello. Besides the dessert station, both sides of the buffet had ice cream and frozen yogurt machines. These machines could be found near the front of the buffet on both sides. Here are some pictures from the dessert line:

IMG_8491_BR.thumb.JPG.45886c7e7a63a3ef19d961b6917df893.JPG

Touring The Carnival Breeze:                    After eating lunch I was ready to walk around and see the Carnival Breeze. I went from the Lido Deck (10) up to Deck 12 at the very back of the ship. Looking behind the Carnival Breeze I was able to see Cruise Terminal #2, which did not have a cruise ship docked today. In the distance I was able to see Texas City behind Pelican Island. While walking along Deck 12 I alternated between looking out at the Galveston Island side of the ship and the Pelican Island side.

IMG_8521_BR.thumb.JPG.3a7de9dd9ab96f3d4a83ef7d7aa87169.JPG

The back section of deck 12 is where the Carnival Breeze's SportsSquare complex is located.   SportsSquare on the Carnival Breeze includes the ship's basketball court, some outdoor fitness equipment, jogging track, mini golf course, ropes course, and several games tables (such as billiards and foosball). Below are some pictures of the Carnival Breeze's SportsSquare area.

IMG_8537_BR.thumb.JPG.9c294add4c8f4ec77f6e8c2c01d80ce2.JPG

Above the Carnival Breeze's mini golf course is the ropes course. The entrance to the ropes course is located at the aft section of Deck 14 which can only be accessed via a stairwell right by the mini golf course. By the entrance to the ropes course on Deck 14, there are also some mini golf course holes and a chess board with giant game pieces. I will have pictures of Deck 14's part of SportsSquare in a later part of the review.               In the middle of the mini golf course on Deck 12, there are bean bag toss (corn-hole) game boards as well as numerous seats. A bar area is also part of SportsSquare, but I never saw this bar open during the entire cruise and did not see an open time listed in the What's Happening daily newsletter or on the Carnival Hub App.

I SO want to take a cruise on the Breeze while she's still in Galveston, our drive to port. We've sailed the other 2 out of there. Maybe someday....before she gets re-deployed.

BTW, I'm loving your review! Keep up the good work!  👍

Hands down, your photographs are the best!  I love the close-up shots so we can actually see things.  Thanks so much for your review. The Breeze is the only ship we’ve sailed on twice. She’s great!

Thank you! The Breeze is a great ship and hopefully you can try the ship out while it sails from Galveston. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you! I'm glad you appreciate the close-up pictures. I agree, the Breeze is a great ship!!

After looking around the mini golf course and entire SportsSquare complex I continued walking towards the front of the ship on Deck 12. I passed by an open area that looked over the main pool on the Lido Deck. Some of the deck chairs were already taken, but many empty chairs were available. On the sides of the Lido Deck the tables & chairs that were under cover in the shade were almost all occupied.

IMG_8563_BR.thumb.JPG.a0c189e9cc6ad5121042028244fd3e79.JPG

Serenity Adults Only Retreat:                 The Carnival Breeze's Serenity Adults Only Retreat is located on Deck 15 at the front of the ship. Deck 15 is the highest deck on the Carnival Breeze.  This area is for guests that are 21 and older only. A variety of different deck chairs and clamshell chairs were available in this area for guests to use. Carnival Breeze's Serenity also had a few hottubs.   Below are some pictures of the Serenity Adults Only Retreat:

IMG_8577_BR.thumb.JPG.347218966960e86b039536cc02265cd2.JPG

There are two sides to the Serenity Adults Only Retreat on Deck 12. All of the pictures shown above were on one side. I walked to the other side which had a hottub, more deck chairs, and clamshells. I did not get take as many pictures of this side as other guests were walking up to use deck chairs.

IMG_8587_BR.thumb.JPG.b78313a3fe6ce3694bc6987fdbc78c83.JPG

At the front of the Serenity Adults Only Retreat is a sliding door that leads to a glass spiral staircase. I walked down the sliding staircase to Deck 14. The Carnival Breeze's Cloud 9 SPA is on Decks 12 and 14. I walked into the Relaxation Room at the front of Deck 14. This was a small room with a great view from windows. Infused fruit water, coffee, and some tea packets were available in this room. I found this room on my previous Carnival Breeze cruise's first day back in May 2022. The room was setup nearly identically to that cruise. Below are some pictures from this cruise:

IMG_8589_BR.thumb.JPG.d4352d8e1433940814b0cbe1ec0ce4da.JPG

While on Deck 14, I walked by the Carnival Breeze's Tepidarium. The door was closed and I did not enter. I remember in May, the room was hot & muggy and my camera lenses did not like the temperature. I took a picture from the glass door of the Tepidarium.           I went back to the spiral staircase and continued down to Deck 12. The Fitness Center is located at the front of the Carnival Breeze's Deck 12. Within the Fitness Center there are a variety of different machines and weights. A fitness instructor was advertising classes at the front of the gym, but he was busy selling to other guests so he did not bother us as I took some pictures.

IMG_8594_BR.thumb.JPG.a0e14fac995833659895c820015e8464.JPG

After walking around the Carnival Breeze's SPA and Fitness Center on Deck 12, I went back up the spiral staircase to Deck 15 to have another quick look outside. The WaterWorks was still not open yet, but I could see the deck chairs by the main Lido pool were mostly occupied.

IMG_8599_BR.thumb.JPG.7988b73dd68d8d6e9671413aa8fde778.JPG

After being outside for a little while, it was time for me to head inside to avoid getting sunburned. I walked down the front stairwell to the Promenade Deck (5).   I walked from the front of the deck through the atrium and had a good view of Deck 3's atrium lobby below. It looked like very few guests were boarding at this time. However, the atrium lobby was crowded with several guests at the atrium bar and lined up at guest services. I will share atrium pictures in later portions of this cruise review.  On the other side of the Deck 5 atrium is the Winner's Luck Casino. The Winner's Luck Casino on Deck 5 has several slot machines & game tables, a large bar, and the cashier's station. At the time of this cruise, the Deck 5 level of the Winner's Luck Casino allows smoking when the casino is open & a guest is playing at a slot machine. Smoking is prohibited when bunkering (fuel operations) is taking place. A non-smoking casino annex is available on Deck 4.

IMG_8608_BR.thumb.JPG.309fb5ff40c690ec3d45bdf6667c8a2e.JPG

After walking through the Winner's Luck Casino, I reached the Carnival Breeze's Ocean Plaza. T he Ocean Plaza is used during the day-time for various events and activities. There is a mini stage and dance floor in the center of the Ocean Plaza that are used at night for music and dancing. The Carnival Breeze's Alchemy Bar and Coffee Bar are located right by the Ocean Plaza. For some reason the lights were all turned off in the Ocean Plaza despite guests being everywhere. The lights did come on until later in the afternoon.            Throughout the Promenade Deck (5) there are doors to lead to the Lanai outside. From the Ocean Plaza I walked outside to the Lanai. The Lanai wraps around the entire ship on Deck 5, but the front portion is closed to guests.

IMG_8611_BR.thumb.JPG.8ded1dada6b951a2cdb3815442cd1056.JPG

Here are some pictures I took while walking around the back and sides of the Carnival Breeze's Lanai:

IMG_8615_BR.thumb.JPG.0805dcca54d8ade1c1e07a257ed55fb5.JPG

Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ:                   The Carnival Breeze has a complimentary BBQ venue located on Deck 5's Lanai outside. Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ serves a variety of BBQ meats and sides at lunch on select days of the cruise. When I walked by around 12:30pm, there was no line at Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. The crew members working begged me to take some food as I was taking pictures, but I still stuffed from lunch on the Lido Deck. I have eaten at Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ on previous cruises and love eating the pork butt, sausage, smoked beef, and collared greens. Below are some pictures of the choices available at Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ:

IMG_8634_BR.thumb.JPG.bf303e6221ad57c2be530feb9422ed51.JPG

When I finished walking around the Lanai, I went back inside. At the back of Deck 5 is the Carnival Breeze's Limelight Lounge. The Limelight Lounge is used for the Punchliner Comedy Club, karaoke, and smaller scale special events. The Limelight Lounge was empty when I walked in to take pictures.

IMG_8645_BR.thumb.JPG.ec6ac4e88f9a0088e2e62fc0263c55cc.JPG

The Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is located next to the Limelight Lounge on the back of deck 5. On my past two cruises on the Carnival Breeze, I have had trouble getting good pictures of this venue due to crew working inside. I stepped inside and the hostess immediately asked if she could help me. I told her I just wanted to take a few pictures and she invited me to come inside. Below are some pictures I took of the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse:

The Liquid Nightclub is also located near the back of Deck 5. The nightclub is generally open late at night and into the early morning hours. During the day, the Liquid Nightclub is used to host art auctions & shows. While I was walking around the Carnival Breeze I noticed the nightclub was open so I walked in to take some pictures.

Self-Mustering On The Carnival Breeze:                After looking around the Carnival Breeze's Deck 5, I remembered I needed to head to my muster station for the lifejacket demonstration. My muster station was "E3" which was the Deck 3 level of the Blush Restaurant. The Blush Restaurant is the Carnival Breeze's aft dining room and is primarily used for guests with fixed dinner seating. A crew member was standing at the entrance of the Blush Restaurant.  We both showed our Sail & Sign Cards and they were scanned in order to log attendance at this mandatory drill. The drill consisted of a lifejacket demonstration and some basic safety information. The drill lasted no more than 5 minutes and gave us a good reminder on how to wear a lifejacket & where we needed to go in the event of a real emergency.                    This Self-Mustering Drill replaced the old style Safety Briefing where everyone on the ship went to their muster station prior to sailing at the same time. The Self-Mustering drill allowed for social distancing.   TIP:  Your assigned muster station for the cruise can be found in multiple areas. Your boarding pass, Sail & Sign Card, the Carnival Hub App, and back of the stateroom door have your muster station letter/number printed. If you need assistance on the first day finding your muster station, crew members are stationed throughout the ship and can direct you to your assigned muster station.

Cove Balcony Stateroom:                  Staterooms opened for all guests at 1:30pm. Until this time the firedoors to the stateroom hallway were closed with signage asking guests not to enter until 1:30pm.  My stateroom was a Balcony Stateroom located on Deck 6. The stateroom was located in between the middle and aft elevators on the starboard side of the ship. The interior of the stateroom consisted of two twin beds, a couch that could be converted into a bed at night, and a small vanity area. Around the stateroom's small counter space there were two 120V electrical outlets and a European electrical outlet.

IMG_8674_BR.thumb.JPG.e35efb23559e4b8f3cb9f8ff449089f6.JPG

The stateroom's bathroom was very similar to every other Carnival ship's stateroom bathroom that I have had. The bathroom consisted of a toilet, sink, and shower. In the shower, shampoo and shower gel were available in a dispenser.

IMG_8678_BR.thumb.JPG.3c3db061e5e8629d826f62984cb84762.JPG

My balcony was directly above the Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. This meant that when I wanted to look down, instead of seeing the Lanai, I had a view of the top of Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. This balcony stateroom was a complimentary upgrade from Carnival. Originally I was booked in a porthole stateroom on Deck 1 and due to that room being in a previous quarantine area at the time of booking, a Carnival representative moved my room up to this balcony for FREE! This is the first & only upgrade I have ever gotten from Carnival. Despite the obstructed view below, the balcony had a good view of the horizon.  My balcony consisted of two chairs and a very small table.

Looking From The Front Observation Deck On Deck 9:                      After looking at my stateroom and balcony I wanted to continue walking around the ship. At the very front of Deck 9 is an area above the navigational bridge that is one of my favorite places on a ship to look out. On both sides of the ship, this area overlooks the side of the ship.

IMG_8743_BR.thumb.JPG.63aeefdae9e11996f6bbb1ba82e11f9b.JPG

Around 3pm our cruise director, Jasper, came over the PA to let guests know that the captain asked all guests that had not yet completed the self-mustering process to attend. Jasper also used this time to go through safety information and the ship's general emergency alarm (7 short blasts & 1 long blast) was rang.

Sail-A-Way From Galveston:                   The Carnival Breeze was scheduled to set sail at 3:30pm from Galveston. The ship was already untied and moving away from the cruise terminal at exactly at 3:30pm. We were in our stateroom when sail-a-way started and had to rush to get outside. I went to the very front of Deck 7 to watch sail-a-way. This area was directly below the navigational bridge, which is located above on Deck 8. Due to the location of the bridge in relation to the sunlight, this area was very shady for most of sail-a-way.

How The Your-Time Dining Check-In Process Worked:                      I had Your-Time Dining which means I could dine in a specific dining room from 5:30pm until about 9:00pm. Dining assignments are printing on guests' Sail & Sign Cards. My Sail & Sign Card indicated that for dinner I needed to check-in on the Carnival Hub App and then I would be assigned a table. Shortly before the dining room opened the Carnival Hub App began allowing guests to check-in. The check-in for dinner was easy and involved clicking a check-box for each guest that was going to be eating. Within a couple of minutes of checking in the app notified me that my table was ready and I selected that I was on my way. The app will hold table assignments for 10 minutes before cancelling a reservation. The Sapphire Dining Room is the Carnival Breeze's mid-ship dining room.                  I arrived a few minutes prior to 5:30pm after checking in on the Carnival Hub App. One of the dining room hostesses recognized me from a previous cruise in May 2022 and she asked if I wanted the same table as the previous cruise. She remembered that we liked a table by the window and even remembered the section we sat in one the previous cruise. This was an awesome surprise! Carnival truly has some of the best crew members!

First Dinner On The Carnival Breeze In The Sapphire Dining Room:                  After being seated our table's headwaiter and assistant waitress came by to introduce themselves. Our waitstaff team came by and started to pour water in our cups. I asked for iced tea. Our waiter brought the iced tea as well as sweetener packets & lemon. Since the Covid-19 restart Carnival does only has paper menus available by request in the main dining room. Guests are expected to use a QR Code on the table or the Carnival Hub App to view the menu (a paper copy can be requested if needed). Our waiter took our order a few minutes after we arrived!                  After our order was taken the waitstaff came by with a big basket of bread and asked which bread we would like. They served the bread to us using tongs. Our choices for tonight's bread were baguette and multigrain cranberry. I asked for both. I ordered a caesar salad and quesadilla for my appetizer. Both tasted great. For my main course I ordered the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. This will probably be the last time I order this main course due to the side of rice having a seasoning that I do not like the taste of. However, the shrimp & sauce tasted great. For dessert I ordered a banana split, which is on the Kid's Menu. The banana split consisted of a scoop of neopolitan ice cream, some sort of whipped cream, banana slices, a cherry, and sprinkles. Everything was great and our waitstaff did an excellent job!

IMG_8881.thumb.JPG.e97fa9f481256575d9559dee094c26c7.JPG

After dinner I stepped outside on my balcony to take some pictures of the sunset. Before I forget to mention, I picked up the liter bottled water from the casino bar on Deck 4 and also went by the photo gallery to pick up my Platinum pin & koozie gift.

Ovation Theater - Bingo Session              At 7:15pm in the Ovation Theater a game of Welcome Aboard Bingo was taking place. The Bingo host for this cruise was Lucky Lizzy, who happened to be the same bingo host as our May 2022 Carnival Breeze cruise. Bingo on Carnival's ships costs money to buy Bingo cards, but there are cash or other prizes for winning. Sometimes prizes are cash, but other times could be jewelry or a free cruise depending on the game of bingo that is being played. After dinner when I arrived in the Ovation Theater the game of Bingo was about to start, but had not yet started. I did not play bingo, but watched the game because I wanted to be in the Ovation Theater for a good seat for the Welcome Aboard Show.

Welcome Aboard Show:               The Welcome Aboard Show was scheduled to start at 8:00pm in the Ovation Theater. When the show started our cruise director, Jasper, came on-stage to introduce himself. He let us know that his job was to inform & entertain us during the cruise. Jasper introduced the Carnival Breeze's Fun Squad team members. These crew members host various trivia games and activities throughout the cruise. Instead of doing a game on-stage, Jasper made the whole audience stand up and split the audience down the middle. He led the theater in a clapping exercise which ended up creating the beat for the song "We Will Rock You".                 After Jasper finished speaking it was time for the Playlist Productions performers to do a quick 10 minute intro show. However, the Playlist Productions performers' piece was cut short very early on and the curtain closed unexpectedly. Jasper came back on-stage and told us that due to technical issues the show was over. This was very odd!

Even though I was disappointed the Welcome Aboard Show ended early due to issues, I was tired from getting up early and wanted to get to sleep soon. I walked up to the back of Deck 5 to look out, but did not stay outside long. Before going back to my stateroom I went up to the Lido Deck (10) for some water. Below are some pictures of the Lanai on Deck 5:

This is the end of the review for Day 1. Day 2's sea day review is coming up next!

Day 2       Fun Day At Sea

Friday, September 23, 2022

First Morning Walk Of The Cruise:                Good morning! Despite sleeping terribly during the first night, I still got up early to start walking the Carnival Breeze. My alarm failed to go off at the set time of 5:45am, but instead went off around 5:57am. I'm not sure what happened, but at least it went off. After getting ready I was out my stateroom door by 6:20am. I walked from the back stairwell on Deck 6 up to the Lido Deck (10). I walked to the middle of the Lido Marketplace buffet which has a stairwell that leads to Cucina Del Capitano. Cucina Del Capitano is home to the Captain's Pasta Bar at lunch, which is complimentary. At dinner the venue is a sit down restaurant that serves Italian dishes for a fee. Below are some pictures of the Cucina Del Capitano area:

IMG_8930_BR.thumb.JPG.da439988c8b01d89b71286f226fe58a1.JPG

After walking around Cucina Del Capitano, I walked back down to the Lido Marketplace on Deck 10. Since it was still early in the morning, the Continental Breakfast station was not yet open. The main breakfast buffet was not scheduled to open until 7:30am.

IMG_8938_BR.thumb.JPG.7b3e7a7cf578c852f686d94588b9cecf.JPG

Unfortunately, my camera lenses fogged up greatly when I walked outside on the Lido Deck and I was unable to take pictures at this time. I decided to continue walking around so I walked down from Deck 10 to Deck 5. I started at the front of Deck 5 and worked my way towards the back. Around the front atrium area of Deck 5 is the Carnival Breeze's Fun Shops. One side has jewelry and perfume related stores, but the other side has Carnival Logo items, liquor, and Cherry On Top. All of the shops were closed at this time of the day, but would open up mid-morning.

IMG_8950_BR.thumb.JPG.15fd33b3beb0261b9dbf90aec49d83fa.JPG

The Carnival Breeze's Ocean Plaza was very quiet at this time of the morning. The lights were mostly off, but I was still able to get some good pictures. During the day the Ocean Plaza is used to host trivia and other games. At night there is live music and dancing in the middle of the Ocean Plaza.

IMG_8964_BR.thumb.JPG.61c0e4d488cea52da71d8d2fa1ab70bf.JPG

After walking through the Ocean Plaza I passed by Bonsai Sushi. This venue serves sushi related dishes ala carte. The menu includes the price of each appetizer, main course, and dessert. Since today was a Sea Day, Bonsai Sushi was open at both lunch & dinner.                        Next to Bonsai Sushi, is an entrance to the Red Frog Pub. I walked inside despite the Red Frog Pub being closed. It was dark inside and I relied on my camera's flash to get some pictures. At the back of the Red Frog Pub there are a few game tables and lots of seating.

IMG_8967_BR.thumb.JPG.bb4d3ff689eb74a24f4bcae3bea538d9.JPG

When I got near the back of Deck 5 I walked through Piano Bar 88. The piano bar was open late into the first night and would be open again in the evening on the second night.

IMG_8975_BR.thumb.JPG.caad9557a79c69dc1b129cda4c7c5426.JPG

While on Deck 5 I stepped outside onto the Lanai to get a picture of the sunrise. The sun was just beginning to rise. I was able to get some pictures before my camera lenses fogged up again.

IMG_8981_BR.thumb.JPG.be6616fd6d4416baabcffdaf0f377694.JPG

I walked along the Lanai to a door that led to the Deck 5 elevator/stairwell area. I decided to walk down to Deck 4 and saw the Sapphire Dining Room was open. This was the dining room I had dinner on the first night of the cruise. On my past two Carnival Breeze cruises this dining room was closed on sea days in the morning to allow for crew to eat breakfast in a social distanced setting. It does not look like this was taking place anymore as the dining room was open and did not have crew only signage out front. I took some pictures of the Deck 4 level of the dining room before heading down to the Deck 3 level of the Sapphire Dining Room.

IMG_8993_BR.thumb.JPG.b6759614b8a286a8de7a9d50eaff1201.JPG

When I walked out of the Sapphire Dining Room on Deck 3, I was directly behind the atrium bar by the atrium spiral staircase. I walked around the atrium lobby to take some pictures. The atrium area was used for live music and trivia/games during the day. Live music was also played in the evenings and night.    The ship's atrium has four glass elevators that go up to Deck 12. Although the atrium's lobby is on Deck 3, the glass elevators go down to Deck 2 despite that deck not being a part of the atrium. In the center of the atrium is the atrium bar and a spiral staircase that goes up to decks 4 & 5. On of the sides of the atrium, there are several areas to sit and mini-Fun Hub internet cafe stations.

IMG_9015_BR.thumb.JPG.b77d9e3e576a8ac1305fe89e9eb72e4a.JPG

The Guest Services and Shore Excursions decks can be found on Deck 3 on the sides of the atrium. The Guest Services desk is on one side of the Carnival Breeze's atrium while the Shore Excursions desk is on the opposite side of the atrium. At this time of the morning, the Shore Excursions Desk was closed. Shore Excursions can be booked on the Carnival Hub App and at Guest Services when the Shore Excursions Desk is closed.

I took a quick peek inside the Ovation Theater's Deck 3 level. Nothing was going on in the lounge at this time of the morning, but the morning show was coming up in less than 3 hours. I would be back inside the theater for the live morning show.

IMG_9027_BR.thumb.JPG.e22c7dc87050a098681b696735acc681.JPG

After spending time on Deck 3, I decided to head back up to Deck 4. I walked to the very back of Deck 4. Along the way I passed by the Library Bar, Casino Annex (non-smoking), and art gallery. I'll have pictures of the Library Bar and Casino Annex in future parts of the review. There were already guests playing in the casino and taking photos or videos is not allowed while the casino is open.                       At the back of Deck 4 on the opposite side of the ship from Circle C & Club 02 is The Warehouse. This is the Carnival Breeze's arcade. I walked inside to take some pictures. Below are pictures of The Warehouse:

IMG_9036_BR.thumb.JPG.e35ee5ca6cc8552b05cd1263a322784e.JPG

The Blush Restaurant is the Carnival Breeze's aft dining room. This dining room is used for the Sea Day Brunch and at night used for traditional seating. On my morning walk I went into the deck 4 level of the Blush Restaurant. Some crew members were working on the Deck 3 level to setup for the Sea Day Brunch, which was scheduled from 8:30am until 12:00pm. The upper level of the Blush Restaurant was setup for tea time which was taking place from 3pm - 4pm. I had plans to check it out, but later was too full of dessert from lunch to attend. I've been to tea time on some prior cruises (see my Carnival Freedom cruise review) and enjoyed the many desserts that were available. Carnival's scones are delicious!

IMG_9045.thumb.JPG.28988a2b939a0d669984eb79aa481b9a.JPG

After touring the Blush Dining Room, I went to Deck 11 to have a look outside. There were already several guests outside, mainly in the smoking section on Deck 11.

IMG_9068_BR.thumb.JPG.18b0437c627efc7d17017116aafbbb6d.JPG

When it was closer to time for breakfast, I walked down to the Lido Deck to the Lido Marketplace. My pictures of the main pool area & deck chairs have many guests so I am not including them in the review. I entered the Lido Marketplace buffet, but the lines were not yet open. Near the front section of the buffet (close to the mid-ship elevators) there is a Menu Mate station. This area is where guests can get information & help regarding allergies, ingredients, and more.

IMG_9078_BR.thumb.JPG.d93b2099f578468292e40471172f523b.JPG

I walked to the very back of the Lido Marketplace and exited to the Tides Pool area. I took a peek outside and then went back inside to wait for breakfast.

IMG_9084_BR.thumb.JPG.40fbd4996709ef55baef69033fa1fec5.JPG

First Breakfast On The Carnival Breeze:                          The Carnival Breeze offers cruisers multiple breakfast options to choose from. At the Lido Marketplace several buffet lines were open for breakfast. A continental breakfast buffet line that served pastries, cereal, and yogurt opened at 6:30am and closed at 10:30am. The main Lido buffet lines served breakfast from 7:30am until 10:30am. For cruisers wanting to eat breakfast tacos and burritos, the Blue Iguana Cantina served breakfast from 7:30am until 10:00am. One breakfast buffet line remained open until 12:00pm for late risers, but after 10:30am the rest of the lines closed to start preparing for lunch. Cruisers that did not want to eat in the buffet could eat at the Sea Day Brunch in the Blush Dining Room (aft dining room on Deck 3). The Sea Day Brunch was open from 8:30am until 12pm.                           Carnival no longer serves pancakes & french toast each day of the cruise. Today the buffet served pancakes, but on Day 3 would serve french toast. French toast was served one time during the entire cruise. Additionally, Carnival introduced alternating bacon days on the buffet. Bacon was served on Day 3 and on debarkation morning.  Below are some pictures of the continental breakfast and main Lido Marketplace buffet lines:

IMG_8912.thumb.JPG.2d3fca1da11468485cd23b46e4eaf1f1.JPG

After breakfast, I walked outside and looked out from the back of Deck 10. I headed up the stairs to Deck 11. The water in the Gulf of Mexico was nice & blue! We truly were lucky to have calm seas and nice weather. This was a few days before Hurricane Ian would enter the Gulf of Mexico to head towards Florida.

IMG_9116_BR.thumb.JPG.7ef6e13c404a64f2683a264450e27207.JPG

From Deck 11 I walked up to Deck 12. The jogging track on Deck 12 was busy with many guests running, walking, or jogging. The mini golf course was not busy at this early time of the morning. I took pictures of the Deck 12 level of the mini golf course and also headed up to the Deck 14 level of the mini golf course. On Deck 14 guests can find the entrance to the Ropes Course, which was scheduled to open later in the morning.

IMG_9129_BR.thumb.JPG.c00a7865e800846f770fb50e99bf05bc.JPG

Casino Fun Play:                     As part of the Covid-19 procedures, the Platinum & Diamond casino tournament benefit was not available on this cruise. Instead Platinum & Diamond guests can go to the cashier's station in the casino to request $25 Fun Play to be credited. I went to the cashier's station which is located inside the Winner's Luck Casino on Deck 5. I was given a choice to have the Fun Play given as a credit for slots or in chips for the game tables. I chose the credit because I wanted to play the slot machines. The credit could be used at either the Winner's Luck Casino on Deck 5 or the non-smoking casino annex on Deck 4. I went down to Deck 4 to play in the non-smoking casino. I ended up winning $45 with my Fun Play and cashed out my winnings to avoid losing any money. This is the first time I have ever played & won in the casino and it is even better I was playing with Fun Play to start with so I did not gamble my own money!

The Wave Morning Show:                   The Wave Morning Show was scheduled for 9:00am in the Ovation Theater or on the Carnival Breeze's stateroom TVs. The show was hosted by our cruise director, Jasper, and fun squad member, Lizzy. The show consisted of an overview of the day's events and an advertisement for the Fun Finds Shopping Show & SEE The Caribbean Shopping Show. The morning show was not well attended and there was plenty of seating available inside the Ovation Theater.

Carnival Cruise Menu

Welcome to my carnival cruise menu web page , I try to keep all my sites updated and to my knowledge these  are the current menus for Carnival. Like all the other mainstream cruise lines, Carnival now offers much more dinning options than in the past. That comes in very handy for people who like venturing outside of the main dining room experience. Here you can see just how much Carnival has expanded from that MDR experience.

Sorry folks I don’t have Day 1, but I do from Day 2 on. These are from the menus from the Carnival Breeze, but they are fleet -wide.

I am still in the process of getting the MDR menus, but you can count that I will have them really soon. From what I have read Carnival took a different route and they eliminated some of the options and made more family style. They also apparently made their menu reflect more of a home cook meal, which might appeal to some but not to others. But in all honesty Carnival exceeds at my favorite items, such as burgers, tacos and BBQ food. And possibly the best thing about that is that all those items are included in their cruise prices. For those looking for a better dinning experience you can always go to the steakhouse that gets great reviews from everyone who goes there. For those of you looking for the ultimate dinning experience aboard a Carnival cruise, you have to visit the Chef’s table. Personally I have not been, but I have read several reviews and seen tons of pictures and it really looks like something that everyone should experience.  I hope that this site helped you plan your Carnival cruise, do not forget to share it with your friends and family.

Thank you for visiting my carnival cruise menu webpage , don’t forget to browse around for more information to plan your cruise.

thecruiserofships

Information About This Cruise & Me:  This was my 18th cruise and second time on the Carnival Breeze. I last cruised on the Carnival Breeze in December 2021 and since then the ship underwent a dry-dock in Spain. This cruise was May 14-19, 2022 and it departed from Galveston to Costa Maya and Cozumel. I try to do the review in parts, by day. I took over 3,800 pictures and will try to include as many as possible of the ship, food, and ports.

FULL REVIEW:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-cruise-review-2022.html   WHAT'S HAPPENING DAILY ACTIVITY NEWSLETTER:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-2022-whats-happening-daily-activity-newsletter.html   MAIN DINING ROOM MENUS:  http://www.embarkandaway.com/carnival-breeze-2022-main-dining-room-menus.html   For those that do not want to click on external links, I will post the pictures from the review to Cruise Critic as I am going along adding them to my personal blog. This is the way I have done several of my past cruise reviews pre-Covid so I will keep the same format! It also looks like Cruise Critic slightly changed how to add images so I am hoping this works out. Last time I did this by the end I had to stop due to some stressful deadlines at work and it being Christmas time, but this time I fully intend on finishing posting everything here.

Day 1 - Galveston, Texas Scheduled Departure: 3:30pm

An Early Start To Cruise Day:            After a night of not being able to sleep due to being too excited for the cruise I woke up around 3:30am. My alarm was set for 4:00am, but I went ahead and slowly got up and checked the Carnival Breeze's location on the Marine Traffic app. The ship was close to picking up the local Galveston pilot.  Carnival notified everyone a few days prior to the cruise that construction was going to be taking place on I-45 and extra time for travel would be needed. Since Carnival wanted everyone to arrive early our arrival appointment times were brought forward by one hour. When I completed online check-in I selected 10:00am - 10:30am, but due to this change from Carnival my new arrival appointment time was 9:00am - 9:30am. After getting up I showered and finished packing a couple of things that I would need for the cruise. I looked at the Galveston webcams around 4:45am and saw the Carnival Breeze had turned around and was close to docking at Cruise Terminal 2. Due to the anticipated construction I left the house at 5:00am and started the drive to Galveston.              The construction on I-45 did not occur as previously expected and we had no issues arriving in Galveston. We arrived around 6:15am and since we did not eat breakfast before leaving home we stopped at McDonald's on Seawall Blvd right by Stewart Beach. This McDonald's location has a great view of the beach. The sun was beginning to rise while we ate breakfast. I ate some hotcakes and was planning on getting tea, but they had none out in the lobby so I skipped getting some. Since we were too early to go to the cruise terminal, we parked along Seawall Blvd and walked about 2 miles for some pre-cruise exercise. Here are some pictures I took of the sunrise:

Parking at EZ Cruise Parking & Arriving At The Cruise Terminal:              We parked at EZ Cruise Parking again this cruise. I had pre-paid parking and selected the Park & Walk option. Choosing this option was cheaper as we would not be provided with shuttle service. Upon arrival at EZ Cruise Parking we showed our confirmation and were given a ticket to put in the dashboard. The check-in worker directed us to a lot that was located right by the Railroad Museum and told us to make sure to display the ticket. After parking, we took our luggage out of the trunk and walked to the cruise terminal. The walk took about 7 minutes which included time needed to cross Harborside Drive.                The Carnival Breeze was docked at Cruise Terminal #2 and the Carnival Vista was docked at Cruise Terminal #1. We walked to cruise terminal #2 and found a porter outside the building.   On some cruises it is easy to find a porter to give luggage, but this time there was only a couple of porters. Before taking our luggage we were reminded to make sure our passports, vaccine cards, test results, and other documentation was in carry-on and not in our bags that were getting checked in.  After giving him our luggage we went to the entrance to line up to check in.  Since the doors to the cruise terminal were not yet open the employees working outside directed us to sit on a bench. The workers outside were very friendly and chatted with everyone waiting.

When the doors to the cruise terminal opened we were directed to a lady who was checking our Covid vaccine and test results. Since we completed the Verifly app, the lady looked at our app which sped up the process. The Verifly app was optional, but highly recommended by Carnival. Even though we did the Verifly App we still had to have our vaccine card and test results in-hand. Overall, I feel like the Verifly app was worth the pre-cruise work as it did save us a few minutes.               Next, we were directed to security. I had to empty my pockets and stuffed my camera bag with my phone, wallet, and the camera batteries I had in my shorts pocket. Going through security only took a few minutes. After security we were directed to a lady who checked our passport.  Once this was done, we were directed to the escalator to the 2nd floor of the cruise terminal. On the 2nd floor we were told we could sit anywhere. I sat in the same place I did last cruise as I had a great view of the room. I walked around a little bit and took some pictures of the Carnival Breeze & pier below from the windows of the cruise terminal. Here are some pictures:

Starting The Boarding Process:                 Around 10:15am a lady came over the cruise terminal loudspeaker to announce boarding was going to begin soon.  The announcements included information about how the boarding process would work as well as what to expect once on the Carnival Breeze. I partly tuned most of the announcement out because it has always felt like a sales pitch and was the exact same script as previous cruises. There was no special Platinum & Diamond waiting area or boarding. This is due to Carnival's COVID procedures and has been this way since cruising re-started in summer 2021. Since I am Platinum I was able to select a check-in time 48 hours earlier than non-Platinum & Diamond guests. My zone number was A01 for this cruise. After getting my picture taken we were directed to the gangway. On the gangway we had to to stop a few times to allow wheelchairs to be taken off the ship.

Finally Onboard Carnival Breeze, But A Few Minutes Later Abandon Ship Alarm!                  The process of boarding the Carnival Breeze was overall quick despite having to wait a few minutes on the gangway due to the wheelchairs being brought down to the terminal. We entered the ship on Deck 3 (Lobby Deck) in the ship's atrium. Crew members were directing everyone to the front elevator/stairwell area. Due to some crowding at the elevators and wanting to get some steps in, I decided to take the stairs from Deck 3 to Deck 10 (Lido Deck). On my walk up, I had finally gotten to Deck 9 and had just one more flight of stairs to go when all of a sudden a very loud continuous alarm went off, the low level lighting turned on, and all of the fire doors began closing. I recognized the alarm from seeing some documentaries on the Costa Concordia and this was the exact same alarm that was on the loud-speaker continuously as they had to board the lifeboats during that horrific tragedy. I made it up to Deck 10 (Lido Deck) and the fire-door at the elevator area into the ship's atrium was blocking the hallway. The crew member working the stairwell said the firedoor could not be opened due to the alarm and to stay put. I stood at the stairwell area for about 8 minutes and was texting other family members who said that Carnival temporarily halted boarding on the gangway when the alarm started. An announcement was made that the alarm was a test and there was no need for any evacuation. When the firewall kept not getting opened I went up to Deck 12 and walked outside to the back of the ship.

Below are some pictures I took as I walked outside on my journey to the Lido Marketplace:

First Lunch on the Carnival Breeze:                      The Carnival Breeze's buffet is called the Lido Marketplace. As a side note, sometimes I will refer to this buffet as the Lido Marketplace and other times may keep it simple by just calling this area the Lido Buffet.

IMG_4582.thumb.JPG.385d0f60da4aaa5392f391500a1af550.JPG

After looking at what was offered at the ship's main Lido buffet lines, I walked over to the dessert station. The Carnival Breeze's dessert station at lunch typically had 6 cakes to choose from, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and jello. Besides the dessert station, both sides of the buffet had ice cream and frozen yogurt machines. These machines could be found near the front of the buffet on both sides. Here are some pictures from the dessert line:

IMG_4599.thumb.JPG.a475716c4e3aa53141cb02e017ee3d9a.JPG

My first stop for food was the Carnival Breeze's Deli. There was no wait at this time. I ordered a BLT and it was immediately made. The crew member working the Deli put some fries on my plate and I had my sandwich within 3-4 minutes. The abandon ship alarm went off again as part of a second test, but an announcement was made that this was only for testing purposes. The alarm was very loud. Also, an announcement was made that all of the elevators were going to be stopped as part a test. My BLT from the deli was good. The bacon inside was crispy and the lettuce & tomato were fresh.

IMG_4615.thumb.JPG.b1b21e4e4e4047fcfcee488be4bb46b1.JPG

After eating the BLT I went back to the main buffet line to get some more food. I got a piece of pecan crusted fish which was very good! I also had some sort of pepper steak, broccoli, and roasted potatoes. I enjoyed all of these foods! After eating this plate I was ready for dessert so I stopped by the dessert station for some Funfetti Cheesecake. The cheesecake was just as good as always and I felt like the quality of the icing improved compared to my last cruise on the Carnival Breeze.

Touring The Carnival Breeze After Lunch:                    After eating lunch I was excited to take my first walk around the Carnival Breeze. I exited the Lido Marketplace at the back of Deck 10 and walked up to Deck 12. The weather outside was hot & sunny. At the back of Deck 12 is the Carnival Breeze's SportsSquare. I walked on the jogging track towards the front of the ship and passed by some outdoor exercise equipment and the basketball court. While I was outside an announcement was made that another test was going to be conducted. The abandon ship alarm rang again. When the alarm cut-off an announcement was made that all tests were completed and that any future alarms should be considered real.

IMG_4625.thumb.JPG.75aa57a05eae852c38098f280c231af7.JPG

As I walked towards the front of the ship on Deck 12, I was able to look down at Cruise Terminal #2 below. After a short walk past the basketball court I came to the Carnival Breeze's mini golf course and ropes course. The mini golf course is located on two levels. The first level is on Deck 12 and the second level is Deck 14 which has an entrance right by the jogging track. The second level of the mini golf course is right the entrance to the ropes course. At this time, the ropes course was closed, but it would be open later.

Breeze was my first cruise ship, will always hold a special place in my heart.

Funfetti cheesecake is my absolute FAVORITE!!!  Loving your review!

vicky3vicky

I love Breeze so much I have gone on her the last seven cruises, from 2 different ports. We are finally moving onto the carnival Panorama in November. I am sure I wil love it but I'm pretty sure that Breeze will still be my all time favorite.

IMG_4639.thumb.JPG.d6509dac822a87bcb7f8c56817cf5b09.JPG

After checking out the mini golf course & ropes course I continued walking towards the front of Deck 12. I passed by the ship's Seaside Theater and looked down at the Lido pool on Deck 10. I walked by the Carnival WaterWorks on Deck 12 which was not yet open for the day.

IMG_4651.thumb.JPG.e5cb8a5fecfb0f220ad4f05ec5d312fb.JPG

The Carnival Breeze's Serenity Adults Only Retreat is located on Deck 15 at the front of the ship. Deck 15 is the highest deck on the Carnival Breeze.  This area is for guests that are 21 and older only. A variety of different deck chairs, clamshell chairs, and hammocks were available in this area for guests to use. Carnival Breeze's Serenity also had a few hottubs.   Below are some pictures of the Serenity Adults Only Retreat:

IMG_4657.thumb.JPG.9612c2a430cb9509c3b7b1284664832f.JPG

At the front of the Serenity Adults Only Retreat is a sliding door that leads to a glass spiral staircase. I walked down the sliding staircase to Deck 14. The Carnival Breeze's Cloud 9 SPA is on Decks 12 and 14. I walked into the Relaxation Room at the front of Deck 14. This was a small room with a great view from windows. Infused fruit water, coffee, and some tea packets were available in this room. This room was not on the Carnival Breeze's deck plan so it is almost like a secret room.

IMG_4674.thumb.JPG.1f333328c5a03beb26d26e4d43dc70a5.JPG

While on the Deck 14 level of the Cloud 9 SPA I walked into the Tepidarium. The room was muggy so I stuck my camera in long enough to get some pictures and then continued my walk.

IMG_4682.thumb.JPG.c7b93d0aaaf73efc65da76755ddf5221.JPG

I then walked down to the Deck 12 level of the Cloud 9 SPA. At the front of Deck 12 is the Carnival Breeze's Fitness Center. The Fitness Center was packed with machines. No guests were using any of the machines at this time of embarkation day so I walked around and took some pictures:

IMG_4684.thumb.JPG.35bee767b181cca117b207525a812329.JPG

After walking around the Carnival Breeze's SPA and Fitness Center on Deck 12, I headed down to Deck 5 (Promenade). I walked from the front of the deck through the atrium. I was able to see the Deck 3 level of the atrium was packed with guests still boarding. There was a long line at guest services and the atrium bar was crowded. I didn't get any pictures of the atrium at this time because it was too packed, but I will many later in the review. I continued walking on Deck 5 and reached the Ocean Plaza.  The Ocean Plaza is used during the day-time for various events and activities. There is a mini stage and dance floor in the center of the Ocean Plaza that are used at night for music and dancing. The Carnival Breeze's Alchemy Bar and Coffee Bar are located right by the Ocean Plaza.

Walking Around The Lanai On Deck 5: The perimeter of Deck 5 has an outside area that wraps around the entire ship called the Lanai. On my previous cruises on the Carnival Dream and Carnival Breeze (these ships are in the same class) this outside Lanai area is one of my favorite areas to walk. The Lanai on the Carnival Breeze at the front was closed as this area is now for crew only. This closure was a surprise for me back when I cruised in December, but this time I fully expected it to be closed so I was not disappointed. Here are some pictures I took while walking around the back and sides of the Carnival Breeze's Lanai:

IMG_4699.thumb.JPG.249a4f237e97f66c2576685f9f8cd56a.JPG

Self-Mustering On The Carnival Breeze:                After walking around on the Lanai on Deck 5, I remembered that I needed to complete the self-muster process. My muster station was "B4" which was the Deck 4 level of the Sapphire Restaurant. Crew members were standing at the entrance of the Sapphire Restaurant.  We both showed our Sail & Sign Cards and they were scanned in order to log attendance at this mandatory drill. The crew members directed inside and asked us to walk the stairs down to the Deck 3 level of the Sapphire Restaurant in order to hear the safety information. I like this new process better because the drill could be completed when I was ready to attend and since everyone could come when they were ready the muster station was not crowded.

Continuing My Walk Around The Carnival Breeze:               After completing the self-muster drill I went from Deck 3 to Deck 5. At the very back of Deck 5 is the Limelight Lounge. The Limelight Lounge is used for the Punchliner Comedy Club in the evenings and is also used to host smaller scale events such as karaoke. Below are some pictures of the Limelight Lounge:

IMG_4719.thumb.JPG.090fd4524cdc4e96cfac01f44548dd2c.JPG

Also at the back of Deck 5 is the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and the Piano Bar 88. The Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse was open each evening and required reservations (not complimentary). Unfortunately, the crew were working inside so I was unable to get some good pictures of this venue. While at the back of deck 5 I walked by Piano Bar 88.  The Carnival Breeze's Piano Bar 88 is located right along the Promenade walkway and has a large piano with seats around. At night the ship's piano bar entertainer will perform here. I did not go to the piano bar this cruise, but heard the performer was good.

IMG_4728.thumb.JPG.0a3002c202a3f7f33e33390be6c05669.JPG

As I walked along Deck 5 I passed by Bonsai Sushi. This venue was not open for lunch on the first day, but was open for dinner each night of the cruise and open for lunch on sea-days. Each menu item is priced ala-carte meaning that you will pay a price for each item.

IMG_4732.thumb.JPG.76f26872c6f7207d00c803e59cf990df.JPG

After walking for a while I was thirsty and decided to go back up to the Lido Deck (Deck 10) for a drink. I got one cup of water and one cup of fruit punch. This was the first time since my first cruise in 2007 of seeing fruit punch served in the Lido. The fruit punch was very sweet, but tasted good. Each of the other days of the cruise only had lemonade available in the Lido Marketplace's drink machines. Due to the Lido Marketplace being too crowded and no tables for four available, I walked back down to Deck 5 to drink. I sat in the Ocean Plaza right next to the Alchemy Bar.

IMG_4739.thumb.JPG.f92367f8a4fabbf491096da69e7ad6b8.JPG

I stepped back outside on the Lanai and passed by Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. This venue is complimentary and is open on Galveston day and sea days. I got a couple of pieces of sausage to try it. I ended up coming back on the last sea day for some greens and baked beans, but I will discuss that in Day 5's review. Here are a few pictures of the food at Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ:

Cove Balcony Stateroom:                  Staterooms opened for all guests at 1:30pm. Until this time the firedoors to the stateroom hallway were closed with signage asking guests not to enter until 1:30pm.  My stateroom was a Cove Balcony stateroom located on Deck 2. The stateroom was located in between the front and middle elevators on the starboard side of the ship. The interior of the stateroom consisted of two twin beds, a couch that could be converted into a bed at night, and a small vanity area. Around the stateroom's small counter space there were two 120V electrical outlets and a European electrical outlet.

IMG_4760.thumb.JPG.a2cffa14059a0ce1d09c371366f04319.JPG

On the stateroom's vanity a few flyers were waiting for us. One of the flyers was a Good To Know informational flyer about some onboard procedures. Another letter was a letter about how Carnival has crew members from Russia & Ukraine onboard and that the conflict is tough. Unfortunately, we also had a letter that let us know that our pre-cruise purchased internet plan was cancelled due to Wi-Fi issues. Wi-Fi was able to be purchased on a 24 hour basis at a daily rate.

IMG_4763.thumb.JPG.29a78b9aa3505cce6941d2a214b57097.JPG

The stateroom's bathroom was very similar to every other Carnival ship's stateroom bathroom that I have had. The bathroom consisted of a toilet, sink, and shower. In the shower, shampoo and shower gel were available in a dispenser.

IMG_4770.thumb.JPG.47961b92efa2d03c33129e517c7ecd1a.JPG

I really enjoyed being in a cove balcony stateroom. On Dream Class ships, the cove balconies are below the lifeboats and are the closest balconies to the water. My balcony consisted of two chairs and a very small table. The balcony door could be locked by crew members in the event of bad weather because the balcony dividers can be used as watertight storm doors to keep guests off their balconies in the event of bad weather. At the times the balcony floor was a little wet. On the first day of the cruise, my cove balcony gave a great view of the cruise terminal. The gangway was only a few feet from my balcony so I was able to look up and see people boarding the Carnival Breeze. I also had a great view of the forklifts used to load luggage onto the ship. Here are some pictures of my cove balcony and the view I had:

Looking From The Front Observation Deck On Deck 9:                      After looking at my stateroom and cove balcony I wanted to continue walking around the ship. At the very front of Deck 9 is an area above the navigational bridge that is one of my favorite places on a ship to look out. On both sides of the ship, this area overlooks the side of the ship.  I was able to get a great view of the Carnival Vista, which was docked at cruise terminal #1.

IMG_4798.thumb.JPG.1e0206d745b962939addcd23c76cb20b.JPG

After looking outside I made a trip back to my stateroom. I started to unpack and looked out of the cove balcony more. Some announcements to remind guests to attend the self-mustering were made throughout the afternoon. Around 3pm our cruise director, Cookie, came over the PA to let guests know that the captain ordered all guests that had not yet completed the self-mustering process to attend. Cookie also used this time to go through safety information and the ship's general emergency alarm (7 short blasts & 1 long blast) was rang.

Sail-A-Way From Galveston:                   The Carnival Breeze was scheduled to set sail at 3:30pm from Galveston. I went to the very front of Deck 9. I had some family traveling on the Carnival Vista so they stood at the back and waved to us before the ship set sail. The Carnival Vista left before the Carnival Breeze. Very sadly, as we were were waiting to sail a hearse arrived on the pier because a guest passed away. I feel badly for the family and friends of the person who passed away & hope all are doing okay.                  After the hearse left cruise terminal 2, the Carnival Breeze's gangway was taken in and the ship's ropes were untied. It was time to depart Galveston to start our journey to Costa Maya! Below are some pictures I took during sail-a-way:

Upon arriving at the atrium entrance of the Sapphire Dining Room I told the hostess my table number that was assigned on the app and she had someone bring us to our table. This new process of checking in for Your-Time Dining replaced guests lining up early and then everyone speaking with a hostess when the doors opened.

First Dinner On The Carnival Breeze In The Sapphire Dining Room:                  After being seated our headwater came by and introduced himself. He brought water to pour into cups, but I asked for some tea. Our order for appetizers, main courses, and desserts was taken at once. After our order was taken the waitstaff came by with a big basket of bread and asked which bread we would like. They served the bread to us using tongs. Our choices for tonight's bread were baguette and multigrain cranberry. I asked for one piece of both, but the multigrain cranberry is my favorite piece of bread onboard.                    I tend to like consistency so I ordered the exact same menu items as my past cruise on the Carnival Breeze in December.  I o rdered a caesar salad and quesadilla for my appetizer. Both tasted great. I think the caesar salad had too much dressing, but it is a good thing I like caesar dressing.  For my main course I ordered the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. For dessert I ordered a banana split, which is on the Kid's Menu. The banana split consisted of a scoop of neopolitan ice cream, some sort of whipped cream, banana slices, a cherry, and sprinkles. Everything was great and our waitstaff did an excellent job!

After dinner I went back to my stateroom real quick. While I was there I stepped outside on my cove balcony to look outside. The sun was beginning to set. Our stateroom steward came by and left a towel animal.

Ovation Theater - Bingo Session              At 7:15pm in the Ovation Theater a game of Welcome Aboard Bingo was taking place.

Welcome Aboard Show:                     At 8pm, the Welcome Aboard Show was scheduled to take place in the Ovation Theater. Our Welcome Aboard Show consisted of the cruise director speaking, an interactive game with contestants on stage, and the Playlist Productions dancers giving a short 10 minute sneak peek of the show. Our cruise director was Cookie and he did a great job welcoming us to the Carnival Breeze and a game with some contestants. The first day of the cruise was Cookie's birthday and he was hosting special themed nights to celebrate his birthday cruise. He also introduced the Fun Squad, which are the crew members that host the entertainment department's games and activities throughout the cruise. The Fun Squad surprised Cookie by making an unscheduled appearance when he was supposed to start speaking to wish him a happy birthday. He looked genuinely surprised and good job to all the Fun Squad and techs who pulled off the surprise.                     The Carnival Breeze's Playlist Productions cast members performed a 10 minute quick show after Cookie was done hosting the mini-game. The cast was talented and did a great job!

After the Welcome Aboard Show I went to the Lido Marketplace for some water and then headed up to Deck 12 for a quick walk around the ship. It was nice to see the ship lit up at night. There was enough light created by the ship to allow me to take some pictures at night. On cruises in the past I used to have difficulty taking pictures after dark due to the limited lighting available.

Moscow cruise port

Region Russia Rivers

Local Time 2024-04-26 03:02

Moscow is a Volga River cruise port, Russia's capital and largest city (population over 12,2 million, metro 17 million). Moscow City covers a total area of approx 2610 km 2 (970 mi2). By population, the city is ranked the world's 14th largest. Moscow is one of the Russian Federation's all 3 federal cities - together with St Petersburg and Sevastopol .

Being Russian Federation's capital, Moscow is a major economic, political, scientific and cultural center, as well as Europe's biggest city.

According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and the coldest megacity and metropolis on the Earth. It's home to Ostankino Tower, the tallest free-standing European structure; the Federation Tower, the tallest European skyscraper; and the Moscow International Business Center.

Moscow is situated on Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, which makes it the most populated inland city in the world. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city.

Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.

In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.

  • The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
  • Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
  • Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
  • The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.

Moscow cruise terminal

Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station  ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "речной вокзал").

The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.

South River Terminal (above photo) was opened in 1985.
