This $19-million Mansion on the Grounds of Walt Disney World Resort Just Went on Sale — See Inside

A Disney dream home has just hit the market, and it has enough bedrooms for a whole family of princes and princesses.

Situated in a private residence club within the Walt Disney World Resort , the home has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and spans over 9,000 square feet on a 17,000-square-foot lot. Throughout the home, Disney fans will spot hidden Mickeys and other signs of Disney magic. 

The Italian-inspired home is currently asking $19 million — or $74,822 a month after a hefty $3.8-million down payment. 

Unique features of the home include a Frozen -themed children’s bedroom, multiple outdoor entertaining spaces, a hair salon, elevator, and a golf cart garage. The home also has a Star Wars- inspired entertainment room — complete with a life-size Darth Vader and R2-D2, although the listing doesn’t specify if these will be included in the purchase price. The home is wrapped around a Mediterranean-style pool, and has a private poolside cabana that can be used as an office or massage and spa room. 

The luxury property was built in 2017 and used as the model home for the exclusive Four Seasons Private Residences, which are located in the Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort . The community of custom-built single-family homes caters to luxury buyers who want to be close to Disney. Members of the community also have access to the private Summerhouse Club, five resort pools, VIP theme park transportation, events, Extra Magic Hours, and more. 

The property is being sold by Hilda Maria Bacardi, an heir to the Bacardi liquor company, according to Mansion Global .

Bacardi hosted her daughter’s wedding in a lavish reception at Walt Disney World earlier this year, according to People .

This Hotel Suite Is a Love Letter to Disney's Iconic House of the Future

The Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel has recreated the magic of the midcentury modern Monsanto home made famous at Disneyland Park in the '50s and '60s as a new penthouse suite. And in this designer showcase, you can actually spend the night.

These days, the hot new Disney attraction is thrilling and fast. But several Disney experiences remain beloved for their lo-fi aesthetic including the garden tour at EPCOT's Living With the Land or the distinctly modernist aesthetic of famed artist Mary Blair forever preserved in the It's a Small World ride. They're kitschy now but at the time these attractions were examples of cutting-edge tech and the forefront of design.

Walt Disney was highly inspired by the World's Fair and exhibits that blended education and entertainment. In its first decade, Disneyland had a chemistry museum — yes, really — and even a designer showhouse. A blend of design and tech, the Monsanto House of the Future opened in 1957 and is the stuff of Disney and midcentury modern legend. An estimated 20 million guests walked through this highly curated, fully functioning home (which predicted some of the smart home features we now use) during the decade it was on display. And while the home doesn't exist anymore , you can get a taste of that midcentury magic just across the street from Disneyland. Here's the history of this fantastically retro pod and how one hotel is bringing it back in a new way.

About Our Company

Kathy Schmill, CTC

Kathy is Owner and Manager of David's House of Travel, and has been with the travel industry for almost 40 years -- 29 of those years have been with David's House of Travel.

Kathy's travels have taken her to Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, French Polynesia, the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, China, Hawaii, and all over the Continental United States.

Although she enjoys assisting her clients with all types of travel, her personal favorites are European River Cruises, European and All-Inclusive vacation packages. She has been on over 70 cruises, which have taken her throughout the Caribbean, Europe, Norway, New England/Canada, Hawaii and Alaska. One of her most memorable "cruises" was a seven-day trip in a five-man raft down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.

Kathy is a Certified Travel Consultant (CTC), a Certified Sandals Specialist, a Hawaii Specialist, a Princess Cruise Expert, a Disney College of Knowledge graduate, an Accredited Cruise Consultant, a Mexico Specialist, and a Uniworld Cruise Specialist. As a College of Disney Knowledge Graduate, Linda specializes in planning all Disney destination vacations especially Walt Disney World Vacations. She has traveled to Walt Disney World at least once a year, and in the last couple of years every other month, since 1995. Linda will customize a Walt Disney World vacation "just for you."  Linda has also sailed on all 5 Disney Cruise ships, most recently the Disney Wish.

Diana joined David's House of Travel in 2013 as a travel consultant. She is a 'Rootin' Tootin' Newton' girl, a 1997 graduate of Valders High School, 2001 graduate of Lakeland College in Sheboygan receiving a degree in business administration and marketing, and a 2011 Paralegal Post Baccalaureate graduate of LTC in Cleveland.

Although new to the travel agency business, Diana is not new to traveling. Diana and her family have been traveling since her youth, even making it a tradition to now go on adult-only trips with the family. Her travels have brought her to Ireland, England, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Russia, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Hawaii, an Alaskan cruise, and throughout the Continental United States. Diana is a Monograms Booking Agent, Merlin Entertainment Specialist, and a Globus Tour Expert.

Alyssa comes from the land of the Tigers; she’s a 2010 Chilton High School graduate, and a 2014 graduate of St. Norbert College in De Pere receiving a degree in business management.  When she first started in the industry, she was extremely new to the travel agent side, but not short on taking vacations herself. Alyssa has traveled throughout the United States to destinations such as San Diego/San Francisco, Las Vegas, North Carolina, Florida, and many more, she even marched in the Toronto, Canada Thanksgiving Parade with band! Since she has started she has travled to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. 

As a College of Disney Knowledge Graduate, Alyssa specializes in planning Walt Disney World Vacations, and continues her education in all things Disney yearly. Airbnb replicates house from Disney's 'Up' that actually floats

Disney fans are getting a new dream destination.

Airbnb has created a replica of the home featured in the 2009 animated film "Up," located in Abiquiu, New Mexico . The house features one bedroom, one bathroom and a pull-out bed in the living room, giving it the ability to hold four guests. The house, like the one featured in the movie, floats.

While Carl Fredricksen, the character that stars in "Up," has a home that floats with the help of balloons, Airbnb appears to use a crane to hoist its house in the air.

Still, over 8,000 balloons were used in creating the home, giving it the iconic look fans will recognize from the film. Devotees will also notice the extensively detailed interior, with everything from the armchairs to the motorized chair going up the stairs pulled straight from the movie.

Other items that can be seen around the home include helium canisters; the backpack that another character, Russell, wears; and the adventure book created by Carl's wife, Ellie, in a touching moment from "Up."

The listing is written from the point of view of Carl, who notes that Abiquiu is "the perfect place to head out on wilderness adventures. It’s far away from the big city, so hopefully you’ll get some peace and quiet, and maybe I’ll be able to leave my hearing aid on for once. It’s going to be a great setting to explore nature, and who knows, you might even see a ‘Snipe.’ Please enjoy your stay, but don’t blame me if the house lifts off and floats to Paradise Falls. If that happens, you’re on your own!"

Renters won't only get access to the home — the listing also includes several activities that guests can do to earn Junior Wilderness Explorer badges, another plot point. They'll be able to create their own adventure books and go on small excursions, and after one of these, guests will come back to see the house floating.

The recreation of the house was done for Airbnb's Icon series, a summer event that includes other unique rentals and experiences. Guests can also book a replicant of Prince's home in the 1984 film "Purple Rain," or a stay in the Ferrari museum in Maranello, Italy, as well as in the Musée d’Orsay, which includes an opportunity to witness the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics.

People wishing to secure one of these rentals are able to put in a request, which includes a question about why they want to stay at the location of their choice. After that, random entries will be selected, and from there answers will be reviewed until guests are selected.
