Lamb of God Announce ‘Omens’ Album + Tour With Killswitch Engage

When your previous trek is literally dubbed "Metal Tour of the Year," the bar is set hight for your future touring. But Lamb of God have put together one of the top metal packages for 2022, pairing up with Killswitch Engage and inviting Baroness , Suicide Silence , Motionless in White , Spiritbox , Animals as Leaders and Fit for an Autopsy to round out the bill on select dates. The tour news comes as Lamb of God are also set to reveal the details of their latest album, which now carries the title Omens .

Fans will have to wait just a very short period for new music as the band's first single from Omens , a track called "Nevermore," arrives this Friday (June 10). As for the album itself, Omens is on track for an Oct. 7 street date via Epic Records and finds the group once again working with producer Josh Wilbur.

As for what fans can expect from the set, singer Randy Blythe minces no words. "The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world. It’s a very pissed-off record.” He then pauses for emphasis, reiterating, “It is extremely pissed-off.”

Guitarist Mark Morton adds, "The inner workings of the band have never been better. You can hear it in Omens . You can see it in our performances, and if you're around us for five minutes, you can feel it."

Pre-orders for the album are currently available here with a number of merch bundle and vinyl color variant options. All physical CD and vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of The Making of Omens documentary, which will premiere the week of the album's release. So pre-order your album here now.

And with a new album en route, it's time to build the anticipation by hitting the road. As previously mentioned, the band should have one of the top tours of the fall. Killswitch Engage will join them for the entire run, which kicks off Sept. 9 in Brooklyn at Coney Island. The support for run is also top notch with Baroness, Motionless in White, Spiritbox and Animals as Leaders taking turns in the primary support slot, while Suicide Silence and Fit for an Autopsy will split the opening duties on the run.

"Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music," says Morton. "Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. We are thrilled to announce The Omens Tour, which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well. The Omens Tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss."

Tickets will go on sale this Friday (June 10) at 10AM local time via Lamb of God's website . In addition, Citi will by the official card of the tour, with a Citi cardmember pre-sale starting this Tuesday (June 7) at 10AM ET running through Thursday (June 9) at 10PM local time. New Lamb Of God single 'Nevermore' arrives this Friday, June 10.

Lamb Of God

Official press release:

Lamb Of God follows 2020's No. 1 Hard Rock Album with a vicious new testament. Riding high on a creative renaissance saluted by the likes of Rolling Stone and NME, the Grammy-nominated goliath returns with the gloriously unhinged Omens , produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur (Korn, Megadeth).

The first single, "Nevermore," arrives on Friday, June 10. Omens follows on October 7 via Epic Records .

The New Wave Of American Heavy Metal architects will support the new album with a massive Live Nation produced U.S. headlining tour, "The Omens Tour," featuring special guests Killswitch Engage on all dates. Different legs will also see support from Baroness , Motionless In White , Spiritbox , Animals As Leaders as well as Suicide Silence and Fit For An Autopsy . The tour kicks off September 9 in Brooklyn and runs through October 20, see full routing below. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, June 10 at 10am local time on lamb-of-god.com.

Heavy metal is alive and well. The Omens Tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss." - Mark Morton

Densely muscular, soaked in unnerving spite, with a pessimistic eye toward inner struggles and global affairs alike, Omens is a furious entry in the Lamb Of God catalog, perhaps their angriest album yet. "The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world," explains vocalist D. Randall Blythe. "It's a very pissed-off record." He pauses for emphasis. "It is extremely pissed-off."

Omens is also Lamb Of God's most diverse affair. The band tracked live in the room together at Henson Recording Studios (formerly A&M Studios) in Los Angeles, California, a location that birthed classics from The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, and Soundgarden, among others. "The inner workings of the band have never been better," explains guitarist Mark Morton. "You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you're around us for five minutes, you can feel it."

The Omens album pre-order is live now at Lamb-Of-God.com, boasting several exclusive items, including a signed colored vinyl variant, shirt, hoodie, and signed CDs with an alternate color cover. All physical CD and Vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of "The Making of Omens" documentary, which will premiere the week of album release.

About LAMB OF GOD:

“For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world,” Guitar World observed. Lamb Of God grew from basement shows and grimy DIY venues to arena headliners. Over the course of their career, the Richmond, Virginia-based band earned a reverence akin to musical forefathers (and road companions) Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. Timeless songs like “Laid to Rest,” “Redneck,” “Walk with Me in Hell,” and “Now You’ve Got Something to Die For” became anthems in the heavy metal songbook. They shoved heavy metal into the new millennium with New American Gospel (2000). As the Palaces Burn (2003) joined Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake (2004) was the first Lamb Of Gold album certified gold by the RIAA, a feat once all but impossible for a contemporary extreme metal band. Sacrament (2006), Revolver’s Album of the Year, went gold as well. The raw and organic malice of Wrath (2009) began the band’s enduring relationship with Wilbur. Both the diverse Resolution (2012) and the explosive VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200. The 2020 self-titled set, their first new material in five years, added instant classics “Memento Mori” and “Resurrection Man” to the repertoire, alongside eight more monster tracks. Revolver, Metal Hammer, and Loudwire included Lamb Of God on their year-end Best Albums lists. The momentum continues with Omens, the band’s most aggressive and ambitious album yet.

“Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music. Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal,” said guitarist Mark Morton in a statement. “We are thrilled to announce The Omens Tour, which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well. The Omens Tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss.”

New Wave of American Heavy Metal pioneers Lamb of God have announced their highly anticipated 9th album, OMENS. "It's a very pissed-off record," frontman Randy Blythe says, “The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world, It’s a very pissed-off record.” He pauses for emphasis. “It is extremely pissed-off.” Guitarist Mark Morton commented, “The inner workings of the band have never been better. You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.” OMENS, due October 7th, is the follow-up to Lamb of God’s 2020 self-titled effort, which took the number 1 spot on Heavy Consequence’s list of the Top Metal and Hard Rock Albums of that year. You can catch the first single off of OMENS, “Nevermore” now, down below.

From Richmond, Virginia, Lamb of God formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest. The current lineup is lead singer Randy Blythe, lead guitarist Mark Morton, bassist John Campbell, rhythm guitarist Willie Adler, and drummer Art Cruz.

“Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music,” stated Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton. “Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.” OMENS, is due out in October, but you can catch the first single, “Nevermore” now, down below.

Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage Announce Tour

lamb of god tour with killswitch engage

Almost four years after their first run together on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball Tour, heavy metal icons Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God will team up for a late-fall coheadlining tour of the U.S., according to band spokespersons. The tour will feature support from death metal acts DevilDriver and Soilwork.

The tour begins November 28 in Lowell, Massachusetts, and concludes December 17 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage will alternate headlining slots each night of the tour. See below for complete tour details.

After a successful premiere run on Warped Tour 2007, Killswitch Engage recently released As Daylight Dies Special Edition, a CD/DVD combo featuring the MySpace video favorite and current Active Rock hit “Holy Diver.” The special edition also features previous unreleased studio tracks and full music videos for “My Curse,” “The Arms of Sorrow” and “Holy Diver.”

Lamb of God are currently on the road in support of their album Sacrament . After 18 months of touring with Slayer, Megadeth, Ozzfest, Heaven and Hell, and headlining runs in the U.S., Japan, Australia, U.K. and Europe, Lamb of God will take 2008 off to prepare for a new CD.

Fans will get a new dose of Lamb of God in 2008 with a full-length DVD, set for release in the spring. The DVD will document the entire Sacrament experience, beginning with rehearsals for the albums recording straight through this headline run.

Roadrunner artist DevilDriver are touring in support of their latest release, The Last Kind Words , which has been received with high critical and fan acclaim. Offering a melting pot of metallic influences, DevilDriver deliver a binding mix of jarring drums, grinding guitars, and unmistakably brutal vocals by frontman Dez Fafara. Also joining the tour are Sweden’s Soilwork, who will be releasing their new album, Sworn to a Great Divide , on October 19 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Presale tickets will go on sale on October 3 through www.lamb-of-god.com . and www.killswitchengage.com . Tickets go on sale to the public on October 12 and 13.

Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage, Baroness & Suicide Silence at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion

Lamb of God is one of the most prolific bands to emerge from the new wave of the American heavy metal movement. The band’s aggressive riffs, catchy grooves, and powerful double bass drumming have captured the attention of heavy metal listeners. Here was a band who came out dressed in plain back shirts and cargo trousers. There was no gimmick, no outrageous masks nor black eyeliners – just long-haired dudes from Richmond, Virginia, who wanted to play metal.

The band had their first breakthrough with their sophomore album, As the Palaces Burn. The 2003 studio effort entered the Billboard 200 chart, landing at number 64. As the Palaces Burn was preceded by its title track and “Ruin.” By the time Lamb of God dropped their fourth album, Sacrament, they had cultivated a massive following. Thanks to the band’s loyal supporters and ever-curious casual listeners, Sacrament soared to number 8 on the Billboard 200, number 2 on the Top Rock Albums, and number 3 on the Top Tastemakers Albums charts. The 2006 album features two of Lamb of God’s landmark singles, “Redneck” and “Walk with Me in Hell.” Lamb of God released their most successful album, Wrath, in 2009. The record peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, their highest-charting effort to date. Moreover, the album topped three other Billboard charts, including Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums.

With almost three decades behind them and several monumental and highly-acclaimed albums, the band remains at the forefront of the heavy metal industry. If you’re keen on experiencing their legendary mosh pits and banging your head to their supercharged metal grooves, then score your tickets now!
