But one of the biggest complaints most people have with teardrop trailers is that they can’t stand up in them.

As the interior height of most teardrops is usually less than four feet.

However, what most campers don’t realize is that there are actually quite a few teardrop trailers you can stand up in.

So we put together this list of some of the best teardrop trailers you can stand up in .

The nuCamp Barefoot travel trailer is perhaps best known as the Barfoot Caravan, as this small compact camper has been produced for years in the United Kingdom.

But the exciting news for us in America is that nuCamp and Barefoot Caravans has teamed up to release an American version of the Barefoot camper, which will be called the nuCamp Barefoot.

And while little is known about the exact specification of the American version of the Barefoot, nuCamp has assured us that they will be maintaining most of the original styling and design features of the UK version.

A teardrop trailer is a camper trailer that is traditionally shaped like a teardrop, tapering to a point at the rear end. 

Today many kinds of small campers are considered teardrops and not all of them have the traditional teardrop shape. 

There are many kinds of teardrop trailers from models that you can stand up and move around. Others are tiny trailers that only have space for sitting and sleeping. 

Teardrop trailers also come in a variety of pricing options, too. Many new RVers think that teardrop campers are good entry-level RVs, yet there are plenty of veteran RVers who enjoy the teardrop trailer lifestyle.

These tiny campers are very eco-friendly too. You’ll find teardrop camper models that only rely on a single-house battery. Those with freshwater tanks have devices that optimize your water usage even when you’re cleaning your dishes.

How Much Do Teardrop Trailers Weigh?

The typical dry weight of a teardrop trailer runs between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. Since teardrops exploded in popularity, and with the advent of so many teardrop DIY projects, it is often difficult to tell the difference between an actual teardrop and a very small travel trailer. 

DIY teardrop projects include everything from a build-up using a traditional hauling trailer to a repurposed horse trailer. Some of these qualify as a teardrop and some don’t. So, to keep things simple, we’re just sticking with the traditional teardrop look and weight. 

Keep in mind, some teardrops can get pretty big, while still being considered a teardrop. This is mostly a manufacturer thing. If they define it as a teardrop, it falls in the teardrop category. As a DIY project or an aftermarket add-on, the only thing the consumer has to do is properly match the power requirements of an A/C unit (along with anything else in the teardrop) to their available power, via solar panels, batteries, or generators.

Are Any Teardrop Trailers 4 Season?

Please add the Helio Trailers. We had to avoid the tab and Braxton due to tongue weight. Well over our 200 lb limit. The helio O2 sleeps 2 has a wet bath. Frig. 2 burner stove. 1500-1600 lbs and a 135 tongue weight. Electric breaks. Canadian made. A bit pricey. But our ‘13 forester handles it pretty well. Thanks
