The new UAE visa rules that came into effect on October 3 allow holidaymakers to stay for 60 days at a time.

The decision to make all entry visas valid for 60 days from the date of issue ― double the previous allowance ― is one of a series of visa changes that were approved by the Cabinet in April.

Previously, there was no specific visa for tourists and those wishing to visit the UAE applied for 30-day, 60-day or 90-day visit visas.

The one, two and three-month entry permits are still available on a new visa, but mainly for people wishing to visit friends or relatives in the country, which requires documentary evidence proving the relationship and reasons for the visit.

All entry visas are available for single or multiple entry and can be renewed for a further 60 days.

Roshan Davis, manager of Golden Talent Tourism Agency in Dubai, said the change has made it easier for tourists to spend extended time in the country exploring and enjoying everything it has to offer.

“We have received more than 50 tourist visa applications from customers in the past four days,” he said.

Who is the tourist visa for?

Those who do not qualify for a visa on arrival or visa-free entry to the UAE can apply for a tourist visa.

Citizens from 69 countries and states are eligible for a visa on arrival in the UAE . Females below the age of 18 are not eligible to apply for a tourist visa unless they are travelling with their parents.

How can I apply for a tourist visa?

Visitors from countries that do not have a visa-on-arrival arrangement with the UAE can apply for their visas in advance through a travel agency or through the airline with which they are travelling.

How much does the tourist visa cost?

Mr Davis said they charge between Dh550 and Dh600 for 60-day visas and between Dh350 and Dh750 for one, two and three-month visa requests for visiting relatives.

A 60-day single entry visa with Etihad Airways costs Dh650, while a similar visa from Emirates airline costs Dh697 ($190). Both airlines offer a shorter, 30-day visa priced at Dh350 for Etihad and Dh330 ($90) for Emirates.

The Ultimate Guide to the 60-Day UAE Visit Visa

Are you eager to experience the vibrant cities, stunning deserts, and rich culture of the United Arab Emirates for an extended period? If a standard 30-day visa won’t cut it, the 60-day visit visa might be the perfect solution. However, understanding the associated costs is crucial for budgeting your dream trip. Let’s break this down.

Important Note: Please remember that visa costs and regulations can change from time to time. Always check the official websites of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai or the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) for the most up-to-date information.

What is the UAE 60-Day Visit Visa?

This visa allows you to stay in the UAE for up to 60 consecutive days. It’s a popular choice for tourists who want extra time to explore, visitors attending extended business meetings, or those seeking medical treatments. Unlike the 30-day visa on arrival (which is free for many nationalities), the 60-day visa requires application and payment before your trip.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost of your 60-day UAE visit visa depends on several factors, including:

  • Your Nationality:  Each country has different visa arrangements with the UAE, affecting pricing.
  • Application Method:  Applying through a travel agency, airline, or hotel in the UAE versus applying online yourself usually influences the price.
  • Urgency:  Express processing options will naturally cost more.

Price Variations: Let’s Look at Some Examples

To give you a better idea, here’s a snapshot of 60-day UAE visa costs for a few selected nationalities:

  • India:  Approximately AED 600 – AED 750
  • Pakistan:  Approximately AED 650 – AED 800
  • USA:  Approximately AED 700 – AED 900
  • UK:  Approximately AED 750 – AED 950
  • Philippines:  Approximately AED 650 – AED800

Important Note: These are just estimates. For your specific nationality and the latest pricing, it’s best to check with an authorized travel agency or refer to the official GDRFA or ICP websites.

How to Apply for the 60-Day UAE Visit Visa

There are generally three ways to apply:

  • Through a UAE-based sponsor:  This could be a travel agency, airline, or hotel. They handle the process for you, often for an additional service fee.
  • Directly online:  Many countries can apply through the official GDRFA or ICP websites.
  • Through your country’s UAE embassy or consulate:  This may be required for certain nationalities.

The Application Process – What to Expect

The exact process varies slightly depending on your chosen method, but here’s a general overview:

  • Passport copy (valid for at least 6 months)
  • Passport-sized photo
  • Proof of travel (flight bookings)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking, or invitation letter if staying with a sponsor)
  • Travel health insurance
  • Fill out the Application:  Online or paper form depending on your method.
  • Pay the fee:  This can usually be done online or through your chosen sponsor.
  • Wait for Processing:  Standard processing times vary but try to apply at least a few weeks before travel.

Tips for a Smooth Application

  • Double-check Requirements:  Requirements can vary slightly based on your nationality, so confirm specific needs beforehand.
  • Consider a Sponsor:  For a hassle-free experience, using a UAE-based sponsor can save you time and confusion.
  • Factor in Time:  Avoid last-minute stress. Allow ample time for processing, especially if it’s peak travel season.

FAQs – Answering Your Top Questions

1. Can I extend my 60-day visit visa?

Yes, in most cases, it can be extended once for an additional 30 days. You’ll need to apply for the extension and pay the applicable fees.

2. Does the 60-day visa allow multiple entries?

Usually, this is a single-entry visa. If you plan to leave the UAE and return during your stay, you’ll need to apply for a multiple-entry visa instead.

3. Are there any cheaper alternatives to the 60-day visa?

If your plans are flexible, consider splitting your trip into two shorter visits using a standard 30-day visa on arrival (if your nationality qualifies). Also, look for flight deals with layovers in some cities like Istanbul, as those may work out more economically, particularly if you want to combine visiting a few destinations.

The 60-day UAE visit visa opens doors to a fulfilling and extended exploration of this fascinating country. While ensuring the cost fits within your budget is essential, don’t let that detract from the excitement of planning your trip! By understanding the factors that affect the price and following this guide, you’ll be well-equipped to secure your visa and start your Arabian adventure.

Everything to know about the new 60-day visitor visa in the UAE

uae visit visa price for 60 days

Some major changes have been made to visas in the UAE in 2022, and this includes the visa granted on arrival for many tourists coming to the country.

Previously the visa on arrival granted was for 30 days only, but this has been extended to 60 days. This change will be implemented from today, October 3, 2022.

Per the UAE Government Media Office , “Major improvements include facilitating the entry requirements for all visa types, offering flexible visa durations that meet the needs of the visitors and the purpose of the visit.”

The reason for the visa revamp

So, why exactly has the UAE’s original 30-day entry visa been extended to 60 days?

Per the announcement outlining the details of the new visa, it’s to allow visitors to explore the job markets in the UAE and understand various aspects including quality of life and experience an extended vacation in the country.

For those making a move to Dubai, this visa will allow them a longer time frame to arrange for their work or residency visa.

What are the requirements?

The new Entry and Residence Scheme offers 10 types of entry visas with simplified requirements and more benefits. New visas require no host or sponsor, offer more flexibility, multi entry, 60 days validity and one unified platform to apply at pic.twitter.com/0PsCJYaoyR — UAEGOV (@UAEmediaoffice) April 18, 2022

There are no pre-requisite requirements for the 60-day visa. However, not all countries are able to avail the visa on arrival, in which case it must be applied for in advance via a travel agency.

There is also the new five-year multi-entry tourist visa which was recently launched. For visitors who wish to apply, proof of funds of $4,000 (Dhs14,692) during the last six months is required prior to submitting the application form.

Just like the 30-day entry visa, there will be a nine-day grace period for the new entry visa. Penalties will begin after this with a fine of Dhs200 on the first day of overstay and Dhs100 per day for every day of the overstay.

Is an extension possible?

All the entry visas are available for single or multiple entries and can be renewed for another 60 days from their first date of issuance.

Implementation

All of these changes will come into effect from September 2022.

How you can extend validity of UAE visit visa for 60 more days

Living in uae.

ICP’s new service can be completed online by the visa sponsor

STOCK ABU DHABI AIRPORT

Dubai: The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has launched a service that allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their visas online.

Visit visas, which are a type of entry permit , are issued to foreign nationals, allowing them to enter the UAE for various reasons – whether for tourism, medical treatment or to study.

As per the ICP website, this new service allows for the extension of this visit visa. “The extension period depends on the type of entry permit issued in terms of duration and the number of times the extension request can be submitted,” the website stated.

What is visa validity?

According to Adnan Khan, operation manager at Siddique Haider Corporate Services Provider, the visa validity refers to the amount of time within which you can travel on a particular visa.

“After the visa is issued, you have 60 days to travel. After 60 days, the visa expires. Before the 60-day deadline, if you think you will not be able to travel on the visa, you can extend the validity of the visa through this service,” he told Gulf News.

“Sometimes people have their visas issued and they might not be able to leave the country, for whichever reason. They will just have to pay the fee to extend the visa validity, which would be better than having to apply for a new visa, which would cost them more,” he said.

If you think you will not be able to travel on the visa, you can extend the validity of the visa through this service. - Adnan Khan, operation manager at Siddique Haider Corporate Services Provider

For how many days can the validity be extended?

The service allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their visit visa for up to 60 days and those on a visa issued to receive a medical treatment or to study can extend it for up to 90 days.

Who can apply for this service?

Sirajudeen Ummer, Business Development Manager at Supreme Business Services, reiterated that this new service from ICP can only be applied for when the visa holder is still outside the UAE.

“All tourist visas issued by ICP can be extended by 60 days through this one ICP service,” he said.

To apply for the service ‘extend entry permit’, the sponsor of the visa will have to approach ICP or its registered typing centre. However, you should ensure that if you are extending your visit visa, your passport is valid for at least six more months.

What is the cost of the service?

According to the ICP website, the cost of extending the visa validity depends on the type of visa you are trying to extend.

Tourist or visit visa, which can be extended for up to 60 days – Dh610 Visa for GCC residents, which can be extended for up to 60 days – Dh710 Visa for medical treatment, which can be extended for up to 90 days – Dh510 Visa to study, which can be extended for up to 90 days – Dh610

How long does it take to receive the extension?

The entry permit is issued within 48 hours, if the application meets all the requirements, and sent electronically to the email address registered with ICP.

ATM 2024: UAE reveals details of GCC’s Schengen-styled ‘Grand Tours’ visa

uae visit visa price for 60 days

The GCC Grand Tours visa will allow tourists to spend more than 30 days in the region

Marisha Singh

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy, unveiled plans for the introduction of the ‘GCC Grand Tours’ visa, a unified Gulf tourist visa, during the Arabian Travel Market’s (ATM) opening day.

“In a significant move aimed at simplifying travel logistics and fostering tourism, the Gulf Cooperation Council has given the green light to a unified tourist visa that will allow travellers to visit all six countries,” stated Al Marri.

The GCC Grand Tours visa will allow tourists to spend more than 30 days in the region. According to the minister, this will make travel to the region more convenient and affordable for tourists. It will also increase activity and employment numbers in the region, he added.

Rollout and implementation of visa system

While an official rollout date was not provided, Khalid Jasim Al Midfa of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Authority indicated that the system should be operational by the end of 2024.

“By the end of this year, the whole system should be in place. Many people and teams, led by the Ministry of Economy in the UAE and other ministries in other countries, are working on it tirelessly to make it happen in the best possible way, emphasising digital transformation,” said Al Midfa.

Al Midfa highlighted the collaborative efforts among ministries to ensure a seamless and digitally transformed visa system.

What an incredible day it has been! The first day of #ATMDubai 2024 was absolutely breathtaking, and the exciting part is that it’s only the beginning! If you missed it, don’t worry – you can still join us tomorrow by registering here ➡️ https://t.co/HfUrYegQqZ . pic.twitter.com/PoP52tdYvg — ATM Dubai (@ATMDubai) May 6, 2024

Economic impact and tourism growth

Al Marri emphasised the economic significance of tourism. The minister cited the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) research and stated that travel and tourism contributed 11.7 per cent to the UAE’s GDP last year, amounting to Dhs220bn.

“The forecast is set even higher, with an anticipated contribution of 12 per cent to our GDP, equating to Dh236bn,” he added.

“I believe that our regional ambitions should not be to recover to pre-pandemic benchmarks but exceed them merely,” said Al Marri.

Benefits and prospects

The ‘GCC Grand Tours’ visa aims to simplify travel logistics, making tourism within the GCC more accessible and cost-effective for visitors. This initiative is expected to boost tourist activity and create employment opportunities across the region.

The introduction of the unified visa system underscores the GCC’s commitment to promoting tourism and economic growth, positioning the region as a leading tourist destination on the global stage.

The UAE has announced a long-term residency for environment advocates. Called ‘Blue Residency’, the 10-year visa will be granted to individuals who have made “exceptional contributions and efforts” in protecting the environment.

This covers sustainability initiatives both inside and outside the UAE.

The Blue Residency will be granted to supporters of environmental action, including members of international companies, associations and non-governmental organisations; global award winners; and “distinguished” activists and researchers in environmental work.

Eligible individuals have been invited to submit their applications through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security. Relevant authorities can also nominate individuals for the long-term residency.

“The sustainability of our economy has become linked to the sustainability of our environment,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as he chaired a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The new residency scheme is part of initiatives that the country has launched to mark 2024 as the year of sustainability. The sustainability drive was extended into 2024 after green themes dominated last year - when the country invited residents to join in the collective efforts to adopt sustainable practices.

The UAE typically issues residency visas that have a validity of two years. In 2019, the country announced a 10-year residency scheme called Golden Visas for investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, outstanding students and graduates and humanitarian pioneers, among others. Three years after, the country announced a five-year residency called green visas for skilled professionals, freelancers, investors and entrepreneurs.
