Cool Cruiser

British Isles in 8/23 now to be on the Regal.  We have sailed on Coral and Regal, and I preferred the Coral.

Any thoughts?  We were booked in an M1 suite on Emerald.

Coral

My guess is more individuals want to do British Isles as that is as far away as possible in Europe from Russia/Ukraine.

Thus, larger capacity ship.

We’ve booked Emerald Princess sailing British Isles September 5, 2023.  How did you learn that Emerald is being replaced by Regal?  Website still shows Emerald sailing for the summer.  I’m so confused.

We were booked for the Emerald TA in April 2023 and just got an email saying we are being moved to the Regal Princess We are awaiting our cabin assignment.   I checked Princess.com and saw that sPrincess is Canceling the Baltic cruises and moving The Regal to the British Isles. I don’t know where the Emerald is being redeployed to

M1 is a mini-suite category (not a full suite) on the Emerald.  M1 (mini-suite) on the Regal seems to be located on the Baja Deck with angled balconies.  I have been on the Emerald but not the Royal Class ships.

It seems as though Princess is really shuffling around ships.  This was happening before the Pandemic.  I was switched from the Grand to the Regal to the Sky.  Do your homework.  Check out available cabins.  I was not happy with my move over replacement and finally cancelled.

She Who Must Be Obeyed and I are booked on that sailing as well.  We received a notice from Princess  on 6/14 and then our big box travel agency on 6/15 that the cruise would now be on the Regal.  I immediately checked the deck plans for the Regal and see that it doesn't have a full promenade - a deal breaker for me as we were also going to do the transatlantic to Fort Lauderdale after the British Isles cruise and really enjoy walking laps on the promenade and also reading while watching the sea slide by.  It's one of the few quiet areas on the ship.

We'll probably cancel.

You are so funny, with the “SHMBO”!

I have to tell my DH about that!   😂

We like our balcony for a quiet place, well usually!   There is a track on 18,  where we can walk, if the weather is good.

The itinerary is really what we’re interested in.  We’ll see.

Yehootu

We just got off our first Royal class cruise on the Royal. We had a regular balcony room booked on the Emerald, and now can get a deluxe balcony room.It takes 7 laps around the walking/jogging track to equal a mile.

SWMBO uses the balcony as her private sanctuary and a balcony is her deal breaker.  I'm ok with an inside when I cruise solo and prefer the full promenade as my walking track and as a quiet place to read - so it's my deal breaker.

Fortunately, there are many ships and cruises to choose from.  I just don't choose ships with pretend promenades.

I adopted She Who Must Be Obeyed from the Rumpole books by John Mortimer.  SWMBO for short.  Please feel free to adopt it also.

Smooth sailing.

Thanks

We were on Emerald for the crossing and following British isles cruise

I say thank your lucky stars! We will never set foot again on Emerald. It was far and away the worst conditioned and run ship we have ever been on in 50 princess cruises. The life boats they use as tenders kept breaking down. Ship was filthy. I suspect it was taken out of service.

We booked the Emerald September 29/23 on June 17.  Nobody at Princess mentioned anything.  That is super strange.  We want an M1 and are waitlisted for one .

We were on the Emerald in February.  It was substituted for the Crown.  The food on the  Emerald was terrible,  but anything is better than the Crown.

We were booked on the British Isles cruise on 5/8/2023 and were notified by email that the Emerald ship was changed to the Regal ship. Now if you go on princess website it doesn't show any British Isles cruises for 2023 at all. I think they are waiting to notify the people already booked for next year about the ship changes unitl they assign the cabin. I was booked for the M1 club class with a prime location. Now who knows what I will receive when they assign it. That part sucks

Yes they are working on all the reassignments, then it will open up on the website.

Check with your TA or whomever booked this for you to get your cabin assigned.

Look at the deck plans to see what your choices are.

We’re in the same situation for the Fall of 23 and my TA was able to get our cabin assigned.  They have the same computer system as PCL.

First time on the Regal. The ship is really worthy of her name. We typically travel not for the ports but just to sail. The Regal did have enough activities to satisfy everyone. We are already looking at the return trip back from Southampton to Galveston.

Nice first experience out of Houston, Tx

We enjoyed being in the Caribbean again. First time on a reposition which was fine, though prefer more days in ports versus sea days. We did purchase rum on Aruba, that the crew misplaced and cost us over 3 hours our last night on the cruise. Thankfully they did find it!

Beautiful cruise!!

This was the cleanest ship that we have ever been on!! The staff was outstanding and the entertainment was the best we have ever experienced!! Definitely go on Princess lines!! They look out for every detail!!!

Great Caribbean and Mexico Cruise

Mar 27th, 2024

Princess Cruise out of Galveston, Texas to the Western Caribbean and Mexico was very enjoyable, and features excellent service, food, and entertainment. There is a good variety of shore excursions available at all 3 ports that were visited. Will recommend this cruise to family and friends.

Best cruise yet! We loved Princess! :)

I highly recommend a Princess cruise. It was our first time and we were pampered the whole time. We enjoyed the respect and maturity of the other passengers. It was a calmer and more refined experience than we previously had when sailing with Carnival. The medallion made the cruise so much easier (getting on and off the ship at each port, paying for items on the ship and in port, keeping track of friends and family, ordering food to be delivered to where you were, etc.) The day we got off the ship, we were already looking at options for our next Princess cruise.

We’ll see.

We were booked on Emerald for British Isles and TA. We do not like the lack of promenade deck on regal so we cancelled.
