Mazda 2: Cruise Control

With cruise control, you can set and automatically maintain any speed of more than about 25 km/h (16 mph).

Do not use the cruise control under the following conditions: Using the cruise control under the following conditions is dangerous and could result in loss of vehicle control.

  • Hilly terrain
  • Steep inclines
  • Heavy or unsteady traffi c
  • Slippery or winding roads
  • Similar restrictions that require inconsistent speed

Cruise Control Switch

Cruise Control Switch

The indicator light has two colours.

Cruise Main Indicator Light (Amber)

The indicator light illuminates amber when the cruise control system is activated.

Cruise Set Indicator Light (Green)

The indicator light illuminates green when a cruising speed has been set.

Activation/Deactivation

With adjustable speed limiter

To activate the system, press the ON/OFF switch. The cruise main indicator light (amber) illuminates.

To deactivate the system, press the switch again.

The cruise main indicator light (amber) turns off.

Without adjustable speed limiter

To activate the system, press the ON switch. The cruise main indicator light (amber) illuminates.

To deactivate the system, press the OFF switch.

Always turn off the cruise control system when it is not in use: Leaving the cruise control system in an activation-ready state while the cruise control is not in use is dangerous as the cruise control could unexpectedly activate if the activation button is accidentally pressed, and result in loss of vehicle control and an accident.

To Set Speed

  • Accelerate to the desired speed, which must be more than 25 km/h (16 mph).
  • On a steep grade, the vehicle may momentarily slow down while ascending, or speed up while descending.
  • Cruise control will cancel if the vehicle speed decreases below 21 km/h (13 mph) when cruise is activated, such as when climbing a steep grade.
  • Cruise control may cancel at about 15 km/h (9 mph) below the preset speed (such as may happen when climbing a long, steep grade).

To Increase Cruising Speed

Follow either of these procedures.

To increase speed using cruise control switch

Multiple operations will increase the preset speed according to the number of times it is operated.

Meter display for vehicle speed indicated in km/h: 1 km/h (0.6 mph) Meter display for vehicle speed indicated in mph: 1 mph (1.6 km/h)

To increase speed using accelerator pedal

Accelerate if you want to speed up temporarily when the cruise control is on. Greater speed will not interfere with or change the set speed. Take your foot off the accelerator to return to the set speed.

To Decrease Cruising Speed

Release the switch at the speed you want.

Multiple operations will decrease the preset speed according to the number of times it is operated

To Resume Cruising Speed at More Than 25 km/h (16 mph)

If some other method besides the OFF switch was used to cancel cruising speed (such as applying the brake pedal) and the system is still activated, the most recent set speed will automatically resume when the RESUME switch is pressed.

If vehicle speed is below 25 km/h (16 mph), increase the vehicle speed up to 25 km/h (16 mph) or more and press the RESUME switch.

To Temporarily Cancel

To temporarily cancel the system, use one of these methods:

  • Slightly depress the brake pedal.
  • Depress the clutch pedal (Manual transaxle only).
  • Press the CANCEL switch.

If the RESUME switch is pressed when the vehicle speed is 25 km/h (16 mph) or higher, the system reverts to the previously set speed.

To Deactivate

To deactivate the system, press the ON/ OFF switch.

How to change cruise control limit

Hello all, Just purchased an imported 2012 CX5 from Japan and I'm really excited about almost everything with this car. The only thing is that there seems to be a cruise control limit at 105km/hr, i.e. the cruise control system won't let me set the speed at 120km/hr which is kind of annoying in highways where that's the speed limit. Does anybody know of any fix to this? Thanks

Just because others have used the "how-to" section incorrectly in the past doesn't mean it should continue to be used incorrectly going forward. But to answer your question I am surprised that there is a limit on your cruise control at all. Are you sure you aren't able to get to the speed you want and set the cruising speed? I have a 2016 and just set cruise control the other day at 77mph, (75mph speed limit area) with out a problem. That's about 124kph so you should be able to set it at least that high. The only thing I can think of is that there is some sort of restriction because the car is imported to your country and the origin country sets the limits. It may be beyond the scope of our knowledge around here.

I know what you mean, not to long ago someone did post a thread in the how to section on how to do a proper how to. I wish it got stickied but it never did.

Thanks for the reply! Obviously I posted it in the wrong section but nevertheless.. Yes, I tried several times setting the cruise control at around 120kph only for the speed to fall at 105kph and then maintain it at that limit. If I set the cruise control at a speed lower than 105kph it works fine. So my guess was the same as yours. I was just wondering if there is a speed limiter for the cruise control which I can change manually... Thanks again!

limleong said: Is this CX5 a Japan domestic market (JDM) spec and you import it privately? If it is then the cruise control could be pre programmed to suit Japan traffic law. Hopefully there is a way to reprogramme the limit. Have you studied the manual? Having said that, If this is a JDM model then there could also be a hard limit which can't be changed. con_va said: Yes, it is JDM spec and it is seems you are right, it was pre programmed to suit Japan traffic law. When I took it to the local Mazda dealer service they weren't able to find the specific option on the service software to change the cruise control settings as the menu was in Japanese. They only managed to reset all settings to default which changed the max speed that the cruise control can be set from 105 to 100kph. This surely means that there is indeed an option to change the limit of the cruise control, right? Any help on the matter would be highly appreciated! Thanks! Click to expand...

Hi there, Have you find any solution for your cx-5 cruise control speed limit? Cheers, Pir

  • Jan 2, 2021

After owning numerous Japanese Imports across Manfacturers, discovered this little gremlin with my recently purchased 2013 CX-5 on one of a few roads here where higher (110kph) speed limit applies. Given there's only a couple of roads here where I'll ever likely need to set cruise control above 105kph sounds like I'll have to live with it as it is.

Contact an Ecutek tuner, like xero limit, Dynotronics, .... and see if they can access your ecu and revise the cruise limit. Might as well raise the blue temp light to a useful 70C while you're at it. Maybe set the speed governed to 300 kph, too. Not sure they'll be able to add power to the diesel engine as it is so rare, here.

10 most popular cars in Russia (PHOTOS)

cruise control mazda 2

In Russia, every third resident has their own vehicle. At the beginning of 2021, 45 million passenger cars were registered in the country. Almost a third of these are made by the Russian car company LADA. Toyota is currently the second most popular brand, with over four million cars in the country— the RAV4 and Camry are the most popular models. Next come Hyundai and Kia with over two million cars each in the country.

cruise control mazda 2

Compared with the United States and most of Europe, where around two out of three residents have their own vehicle, the car market in Russia is still relatively open and continues to develop. Russia imposes rather large customs duties on imported cars in order to force international car companies to produce their vehicles inside the country. As a result, many foreign car manufactures have localized their production in Russia and in some cases even modified their car models to accommodate Russian road conditions and people's tastes.

Russians prefer low-budget crossovers and sedans. Hatchbacks and station wagons are less common, and small electric cars are generally an unusual sight (there are just 11,000 electric cars in the country, and 9,000 of them are the Nissan Leaf).

"Russians are not interested in hatchbacks because of the lack of association with a high position in society," says Alexey Kozhukhov, an automotive marketing expert. He notes that in the Soviet period, a long Volga sedan was considered a high-class car and a symbol of power, and that these associations have been passed on to subsequent generations.

Manufacturers have created economy-class sedans and SUVs that are specifically catered to the Russian market. According to the Association of European Businesses , in the first half of 2021 around 45% of new cars sold were crossovers.

Best selling cars in Russia in 2021

1. lada granta.

cruise control mazda 2

The simplest and cheapest car on the Russian market, the Granta is assembled at the AvtoVAZ plant in Togliatti. Some typical customer reviews state that the car is “reliable and without problems” or that “I didn’t have big illusions and got what I expected.” A sedan without air conditioning costs 560,000 rubles ($7,800), and the LUXE version with a heated windshield, cruise control and an automatic transmission costs 780,000 rubles ($11,000).

2. Lada Vesta

cruise control mazda 2

Lada’s latest model, the Vesta, is designed to be a sedan and crossover, although there is also a sports version. The car meets most consumers’ needs but is cheaper than foreign brands. “When I bought it, I understood that it was AvtoVAZ and there might be problems ahead, but the desire to buy this beauty simply prevailed, and I only wanted a new car in this budget,” one Russian driver writes , adding that he didn’t want to buy a used car.

The simplest model with a manual transmission, air conditioning and airbags sells for 795,000 rubles ($11,200), while the most expensive “Sport” version costs 1.2 million rubles ($17,000).

3. Hyundai Creta

cruise control mazda 2

This crossover is one of the most inexpensive cars in its class in Russia. Its price ranges from 1.2 million rubles ($17,000) to about 2 million rubles for the top version ($28,000). “Many Creta owners with a 1.6-liter engine complain about the sluggish dynamics. I wasn't looking for a racing car, so the car is fine for me. My priority was AWD, which fully justified itself. Now I can go to nature any time and not worry about getting stuck on a dirt road,” writes one driver from the Urals.

Hyundai also was also the first car manufacturer in Russia to offer online sales directly from the factory without the dealer.

4. Hyundai Solaris

cruise control mazda 2

The Solaris is a version of the Accent that was localized specifically for Russia in 2010 and is produced in St. Petersburg. Russian drivers seem quite satisfied with the model, which is a budget sedan that is resistant to temperature changes and harsh weather conditions and is generally reliable. “I wanted to use it for at least five years without looking under the hood,” wrote one driver about why he chose this model.

The Solaris ranges in price from 890,000 rubles ($12,500) to 1.3 million rubles ($18,300) for the top configuration.

5. KIA Rio

cruise control mazda 2

The KIA Rio has also been produced in St. Petersburg since 2011, and, like the Solaris, only comes in a sedan model, which is more popular among local customers. The design and technical characteristics of the Russian Rio are slightly different from versions sold in other countries. Many drivers note that it has good heating and the ability to start at minus 30 Celsius. As a result, the car has become one of the best-selling models in the country. It ranges in cost from 950,000 ($13,400) to 1.3 million rubles ($18,300)

6. Volkswagen Polo

cruise control mazda 2

All Polo models sold in Europe are hatchbacks, but in Russia Volkswagen opted to modify this legendary model to produce what has become one of the most popular sedans in Russia. “The car is a car. The trunk is huge and comfortable. There is quite a lot of space in the cabin, both in front and behind. The driving is not bad, better than other cars of this class,” writes one owner.

The Polo Sedan is assembled at a factory in Kaluga (about 200 km from Moscow). The cheapest model costs 1 million ($14,100), while the most expensive version goes for 1.9 mln rubles ($26,800).

7. Lada Niva

cruise control mazda 2

The first Soviet SUV is still in production and has a loyal customer base for its combination of being extremely cheap and strong for off-road driving. Many Russians use it to get to their remote dachas.

The simplest version costs 660,000 rubles ($9,300). The most expensive version is called the Niva Travel (formerly the Chevrolet Niva), costs 993,000 rubles ($14,000) and is equipped with a snorkel in case the car is overtaken by water in severe road conditions. And there is no automatic transmission! “Its passion is dirt roads, super suspension, it ‘swallows’ holes in the roads, you don't notice irregularities,” wrote a driver from the Amur Region in the Far East. However, customers note that the interior is not particularly comfortable and that the car consumes a lot of fuel.

8. Škoda Rapid PA II

cruise control mazda 2

This is another economy class sedan that has won the hearts of many Russian drivers. “The new Rapid is comfortable to drive, there is a lot of automation,” says one owner from St. Petersburg. They go on to write : “Turn the steering wheel and hit the gas, and switch on cruise control on a high-way, and the car will do everything else by itself.”

The Škoda Rapid is assembled at a plant in Kaluga. The simplest version costs 990,000 rubles ($14,000) and already includes a media system with a touch screen and Bluetooth. The most expensive version costs 1.4 million rubles ($19,700).

9. Renault Duster

cruise control mazda 2

Renault cars are assembled in Moscow. For a long time, the most popular Renault model was the Logan sedan, but this year the Duster SUV took that title. "Who can imagine a life that is no longer just being in a hurry," one driver jokes about driving the car. "The Duster is a family car. The car is enough to cheerfully stay in traffic" writes another.

The price of the simplest model with a manual transmission starts at 1 million rubles ($14,300), while the most expensive 4x4 version is twice as much.

10. Lada Largus VP

cruise control mazda 2

The only wagon model in this list is also produced by the Russian company AvtoVAZ. Largus is a fairly budget car that is popular not only among dacha enthusiasts, but also for commercial purposes. “The main plus is the suspension and stability on the road,” writes a driver from Tyumen (Siberia), “No need to worry about driving the highway on Largus in winter.” All versions are equipped with a manual transmission and cost from 780,000 ($11,000) to 978,000 rubles ($13,700).

Mazda radar cruise control (mrcc) (some models).

The Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system is designed to maintain headway control *1 according to the vehicle speed using a radar sensor (front) to detect the distance to a vehicle ahead, which frees the driver from having to constantly use the accelerator or brake pedals.

Headway Control: Control of the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead detected by the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system.

Additionally, if your vehicle starts closing in on the vehicle ahead because, for example, the vehicle ahead brakes suddenly, a warning sound and a warning indication in the display are activated simultaneously to alert you to maintain a sufficient distance between the vehicles.

The possible vehicle speed setting ranges are as follows:

(European models)

About 30 km/h (19 mph) to 200 km/h (124 mph)

(Except European models)

About 30 km/h (19 mph) to 145 km/h (90 mph)

Use the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system on expressways and other highways which do not require a lot of repeated acceleration and deceleration.

Do not rely completely on the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system and always drive carefully:

The Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system is designed to reduce load on the driver, and although it maintains a constant vehicle speed, or specifically, it maintains a constant distance between your vehicle and the detected vehicle ahead according to the vehicle speed, the system has detection limitations depending on the type of vehicle ahead and its conditions, the weather conditions, and the road conditions. Additionally, the system may be unable to decelerate sufficiently to avoid hitting the vehicle ahead if the vehicle ahead applies the brakes suddenly or another vehicle cuts into the driving lane, which could result in an accident. Always verify the safety of the surrounding area and depress the brake pedal or accelerator pedal while keeping a safer distance from vehicles ahead or on-coming vehicles.

Do not use the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system in the following locations. Otherwise, it could lead to an accident:

Roads with sharp curves and where vehicle traffic is heavy and there is insufficient space between vehicles. Roads where frequent and repetitive acceleration and deceleration occur (Driving under these conditions using the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system is not possible).

When entering and exiting interchanges, service areas, and parking areas of highways (If you exit a highway while headway control is in use, the vehicle ahead will no longer be tracked and your vehicle may accelerate to the set speed).

Slippery roads such as ice or snow-bound roads (The tyres could spin causing you to lose vehicle control).

Long descending slopes (to maintain distance between vehicles, the system automatically and continuously applies the brakes which could result in the loss of brake power).

For the purposes of safety, switch the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system off when it is not being used.

cruise control mazda 2

If the vehicle is towed or you are towing something, switch the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system off to prevent an incorrect operation.

The Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system operates when all of the following conditions are met.

The vehicle speed is as follows:

The Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system is turned on.

The parking brake is not applied.

The Smart Brake Support (SBS) is not malfunctioning.

The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is operating normally.

All doors are closed.

The driver's seat belt is fastened.

(Manual transaxle)

The shift lever is in a position other than reverse (R) or neutral (N).

The clutch pedal is not depressed.

(Automatic transaxle)

The selector lever is in the drive (D) position or manual (M) position (manual mode).

In the following cases, the warnings may not activate even if your vehicle starts closing in on the vehicle ahead.

You are driving at the same speed as the vehicle ahead.

Directly after the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system has been set.

When the accelerator pedal is depressed or directly after the accelerator pedal is released.

Another vehicle cuts into the driving lane.

The following are not detected as physical objects.

Vehicles approaching in the opposite direction

Pedestrians

Stationary objects (stopped vehicles, obstructions)

If a vehicle ahead is travelling at an extremely low speed, the system may not detect it correctly.

During headway control travel, do not set the system on two-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles and bicycles.

Do not use the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system under conditions in which the close proximity warnings are frequently activated.

During headway control travel, the system accelerates and decelerates your vehicle in conjunction with the speed of the vehicle ahead. However, if it is necessary to accelerate for a lane change or if the vehicle ahead brakes suddenly causing you to close in on the vehicle rapidly, accelerate using the accelerator pedal or decelerate using the brake pedal depending on the conditions.

While the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) system is in use, it does not cancel even if the selector lever (automatic transaxle)/shift lever (manual transaxle) is operated and any intended engine braking will not occur. If deceleration is required, lower the vehicle speed setting or depress the brake pedal.

The brake lights are illuminated while the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) automatic braking is operating, however, they may not be illuminated while the vehicle is on a down slope at the set vehicle speed or travelling at a constant speed and following a vehicle ahead.

The Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) warning light (amber) illuminates when the system has a malfunction.

Refer to Warning Lights (Search) .

The headway control operation can be cancelled and the system can be switched to only cruise control. Refer to Cruise Control Function (Search) .

Moscow cruise port

Region Russia Rivers

Local Time 2024-04-25 12:55

Moscow is a Volga River cruise port, Russia's capital and largest city (population over 12,2 million, metro 17 million). Moscow City covers a total area of approx 2610 km 2 (970 mi2). By population, the city is ranked the world's 14th largest. Moscow is one of the Russian Federation's all 3 federal cities - together with St Petersburg and Sevastopol .

Being Russian Federation's capital, Moscow is a major economic, political, scientific and cultural center, as well as Europe's biggest city.

According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and the coldest megacity and metropolis on the Earth. It's home to Ostankino Tower, the tallest free-standing European structure; the Federation Tower, the tallest European skyscraper; and the Moscow International Business Center.

Moscow is situated on Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, which makes it the most populated inland city in the world. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city.

Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.

In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.

  • The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
  • Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
  • Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
  • The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.

Moscow cruise terminal

Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station  ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "речной вокзал").

The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.

South River Terminal (above photo) was opened in 1985.
