Sandals Ochi – Review and Guide for 2024

Beaches & Sandals

Updated: December 15, 2023

Sandals Ochi is the largest Sandals resort in the Caribbean. You will find it on over 100 acres of land overlooking the Caribbean. The resort has two sides, with rooms on the seaside and luxury villas offering all Butler service on the hillside. This large resort has so much to offer, making it one of our favorite Sandals Resorts .

About Sandals Ochi

Resort features.

The resort features 519 luxury rooms , suites and villas with breathtaking ocean and mountain views. There are 105 pools and 22 whirlpools, with a choice of 16 restaurants and 11 bars. The resort boasts two Red Lane Spas plus a tropical Solarium and complimentary green fees to one of Jamaica’s most popular elite golf courses, with transfers included to and from the Sandals Golf & Country Club.

Sandals offers guests a lot of firsts and onlys in the Caribbean. Find the ultimate party experience at the Ochi Beach Club and enjoy the Caribbean’s largest Rock Climbing Wall. Engage in music, entertainment and cuisines at its finest. If you are getting married, choose the spectacular overwater Serenity Wedding Chapel. The first Speakeasy in the Caribbean – The Rabbit Hole – is also found here.

Two Resorts in One

Split in half with a major roadway going through, you will find the Ochi Beach Club and Riviera Seaside Village on the side to the Caribbean Sea, and on the other side you will find the Great House and All Butler Village. Both sides of the resort boast their own lobby, but you will find the larger lobby on the Riviera Seaside. Here you will find the Polo Lounge, the Private Lounge and several seating levels.

Lobbies on either side are well decorated, and open with neutral colors, brown leather and dark wood furniture. You will find cookies, water, coffee, juice and wine available in the lobby for your indulgence right away.

Don’t worry too much about both sides being separated by a major roadway. There are Jitneys that run from both sides regularly, so you don’t have to cross the busy street by foot. Butler level guests will have their own private golf carts to transport them between the two sides.

Where is Sandals Ochi?

You will find Sandals Ochi at 130 – 131 Main Street in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, Jamaica. The all-inclusive couples-only resort is 97.2 km from the Sangsters International Airport, where you will fly in and be greeted by an included transfer. There is the option to fly into the Norman Manley International Airport, but there is no Sandals transfer if you choose the option, and so you will have to arrange transportation to the hotel on your own.

Getting to Sandals Ochi

To enjoy an all-inclusive experience , you should fly to the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica. You may also opt to fly into the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. However, you will only receive an inclusive transfer when flying into the Sangster International Airport. This complimentary transfer is arranged for your arrival and departure.

You will arrive at Sandals Ochi with a drive time of 1h and 45 minutes from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. From the Norman Manley airport in Kingston, the drive is an approximately 2 hours.

Best Time to Visit Sandals Ochi

Ocho Rios boasts temperatures similar to the rest of Jamaica. June is the hottest month, with temperatures averaging around 88F, and January is the coolest, with temperatures averaging 84F, which is still great weather!

They receive approximately 37 inches of rain each year, with the rainy months being September and October.

What is known as Shoulder Season is considered the best time to visit . This season runs from the middle of April to May, and then again from the middle of November to the middle of December.  We recommend this time because the weather is amazing, and the crowds have already gone or haven’t arrived just yet. This gives you more and better opportunities to take advantage of all the resort has to offer.

What’s Included at Sandals Ochi

Sandals Ochi being the largest and with many firsts, offers more luxury than other Sandals properties. For starters, there is the included golf experience, with green fees and transfers to and from the resort included.

Bottom Line

This 529-room upscale all-inclusive is adults-only, drawing many younger couples and honeymooners. The 110-acre resort is split into two halves by the road, and jitneys run between the two lobbies regularly. The Riviera Seaside Village and Ochi Beach Club are both on the water, while the All-Butler Riviera Villas and Great House are set back in the gardens, and offer butler service. There are lots of restaurants, bars, pools, whirlpools, and activities (including an 18-hole golf course overlooking the sea) on the premises, and it's a five-minute drive to downtown Ocho Rios for more spots to shop and dine. Just know that the beach isn't large and the hotel is an hour-and-a-half ride from the airport on the resort's free shuttle bus; those who prefer less travel time may want to compare rates at the smaller Sandals Montego Bay , and those in search of a better beach may want to consider the Sandals Negril Beach Resort .

Oyster Hotel Review

A sprawling 110-acre all-inclusive that's popular for weddings and honeymoons.

sandals ochi trip

This large all-inclusive is essentially split in half by the road, with the Riviera Seaside Village and Ochi Beach Club on the water side, and the Great House and All-Butler Village set back in the gardens. Both sides have a lobby; the main lobby on the Riviera Seaside is larger, with several levels of seating, a private lounge, and the Polo Lounge with views of the resort. The smaller lobby in the Great House is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. Both lobbies are open and decorated in warm, neutral colors, with dark woods and brown leather furniture. Free coffee, ice water, and cookies are available, and flat-screen TVs are generally tuned to CNN. Both sides have nearby entrances to resort shops with souvenirs and travel necessities. Jitneys run between the lobbies regularly, and guests in butler level rooms get on-call rides from their butlers in private golf carts. Those who prefer to walk should stay on the beach side of the resort in order to avoid crossing the busy road.

Split between two sides of the road, close to downtown Ocho Rios

This 110-acre resort is located a five-minute drive from the main center of Ocho Rios, and its two sides of have distinctly different feels. The beach resort and seaside rooms are a short drive from the main road, with large archways and a grand entrance. The villa side is up in the hills and is a farther drive, with the villas spread out behind the main plantation-style Great House. While it is possible to walk around on each side of the resort, guests wishing to cross need to use the continually circling jitneys, as the roadways are too dangerous for pedestrians and the main road separating the two sides is very busy. A free shuttle brings guests to the golf course at scheduled times, and drivers are available for travelers who wish to explore downtown Ocho Rios and nearby attractions like Dolphin Cove and the Green Grotto Caves. The shuttle to the airport is free but expect anywhere from an hour to two for the drive. Sandals Montego Bay is much closer to the airport and still offers free transportation, but the property isn't as large and guests there report airport noise.

Sandy and private, but small

sandals ochi trip

If you're looking for a white powdery beach, you should check rates at Sandals Negril Resort & Spa , which is located on a long stretch of Seven Mile Beach. The beaches at this property are clean and private, which means you won't encounter the seemingly endless parade of vendors found on public beaches in Jamaica, but it's broken up by wooden docks and is not long enough for a stroll. The main beach for lounging includes tightly packed rows of comfortable chairs on golden sand. The swimming area is divided from the rest of the ocean by a U-shaped wooden dock with a palapa-style roof and more sun loungers; it's the only shade available on a beach without umbrellas. An adjacent beach holds all the water toys like kayaks, paddleboards, and colorful water bikes. The water is crystal clear and bathwater warm. A docked raft floats in the center of the swimming area.

Seaside standards and suites, plus butler villas on the Riviera side

sandals ochi trip

Rooms at the Sandals Ochi Beach Resort have upscale colonial-style decor; they are decorated in dark woods and elegant neutral tones. Four-poster beds are topped with fresh white linens. There are 23 different room categories, but all rooms include air-conditioning, 40-inch LED flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars and mini-fridges, coffeemakers, microwaves, amenities kits, and patios or balconies.

Couples who prefer to be by the beach should choose rooms at the Riviera Seaside; categories range from the standard Riviera Bamboo Grove Deluxe to the Club Level Rooms and Villas to the Beachfront Butler Suites. Across the street is the All-Butler Village, with suites in the plantation-style Great House and a variety of quiet poolside villas (each unit shares a pool with three others).

Club Level Rooms offer additional amenities, like access to the Club Sandals lounge, private orientation, a dedicated concierge for help with reservations and activity bookings, in-room bars, and free room service. Butler suites on both sides include dedicated butlers that can assist with just about anything, from bringing snacks and drinks to transporting guests around the property in golf carts. For guests seeking a truly luxurious experience, villas are very spacious and private, with private patios, semi-private pools, and beautiful views. Guests have occasionally complained of noise from golf carts and late-night revelers.

Enormous resort with wide variety of activities and amenities

sandals ochi trip

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort's 100-plus acres are put to good use with seemingly endless features. Limitless scuba diving is free, while scuba certification is offered for a fee. Other water sports include snorkeling, sailing, waterskiing, and paddleboarding. Glass-bottom boat rides are on offer as well (reservations required). On land, there are tennis courts, croquet, billiards, and beach volleyball. Entertainment includes everything from cocktail parties to talent shows to impromptu beach parties.

Swimming pools are a huge draw at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort -- there are seven public to all guests and a total of 105 of them spread out over the expansive property (this figure includes the many semi-private pools in the All-Butler Village). The main pool is massive and includes a swim-up bar , water fountains , and dolphin statues. Blue floatation mats are available, as are comfortable sun loungers with white umbrellas. The total absence of children screaming and splashing should be a nice change of pace. Some guests can get boisterous with the free drinks, but there are enough pools and chairs to find a quiet spot. Poolside cabanas for two cost extra and include a personal butler who delivers suntan oil, drinks, and meals. The Ochi Beach Club pool is smaller than the main pool, but as the name implies, beachfront -- and it also has a swim-up bar .

The Red Lane Spa -- with a solarium, steam room, sauna, and plunge pools -- is worth a visit if you don't mind paying the additional costs. Dedicated therapists offer a wide variety of beauty treatments, massages, and body wraps. and The spa has over 30 treatment rooms, but couples' massages can also be arranged on the beach. All guests have access to the adequate, spacious fitness center , with LifeFitness cardio machines and strength-training equipment. Fitness classes are provided in the aerobic rooms and there's an indoor squash court .

Unlimited golfing at the resort's 18-hole golf course is provided for all guests. A free shuttle takes guests to and from the links throughout the day. The par-71 course includes views of the mountains and sea. A caddy is required and costs extra, as do optional golf carts, club rentals, and lessons. There's a driving range and practice putting course. A jerk shack sells chicken and pork off the 10th hole or golfers can eat and drink (not included) at the clubhouse . Free golf clinics are held twice a week.

Free shuttles transport guests around the expansive property and to the airport and golf course. Services include laundry, dry cleaning, photography, money exchange, and a gift shop for beach essentials and souvenirs.

All-Inclusive / Food

Sixteen all-inclusive restaurants with varying hours and reservations policies.

sandals ochi trip

With 16 restaurants serving throughout the day and into the wee hours, even the pickiest eaters be well-fed (though figuring out various hours of operation and reservation policies may take the assistance of a butler or concierge). Dino's Pizzeria does wood-fired oven pies served al fresco for lunch and early dinners. The open-air, on-the-beach Neptunes is popular for Mediterranean seafood in the evenings. Kimonos offers show cooking and Asian food, but is open for a short window and reservations are required. The Italian Valentinos is probably the most elegant and romantic restaurant at the resort. Bayside serves buffet-style breakfast on the pier with made-to-order omelets. Note that some restaurants require pants. Candlelight dinners for two can be arranged on the beach for an extra cost.

Sandals prides itself on serving top-shelf liquor for no added cost, so expect Beringer wines, Jim Bean, Bombay Sapphire, and Smirnoff. The swim-up bars are popular for obvious reasons and there are several other bars for unlimited cocktails and beverages.

Room service is free. Tips are included in the all-inclusive package and staffers are not allowed to accept them (except for butlers).

Destination Weddings

Gazebo, beach, or garden ceremonies.

sandals ochi trip

Weddings here can be very cookie cutter and affordable, or personalized and expensive with a mind-boggling list of add-ons from flowers to invitations to cake and more. Thankfully, the bride and groom have access to a free travel and wedding planner who will make sure the travel, accommodations, and big day go smoothly for the couple and their guests. Ceremonies can have up to 600 guests, and can be held throughout the resort, in a gazebo, on the beach, or in a garden. Note that the weddings aren't private and you may have an audience of bikini-clad onlookers who weren't invited. Also, given the hotel's couples-only policy, any stag wedding guests, or those with families, will have to stay at Sandals' family-friendly sister property, Beaches Ochos Rios Resort & Golf Club (wedding guests who stay elsewhere will have to pay an extra fee to visit the Sandals property). Children need to be approved by the hotel in advance.

This adults-only, all-inclusive  Sandals resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica , has both beachfront accommodations and digs secluded in the jungle. Situated amid the trees, the Riviera villas and Great House guest rooms feature wooden deck chairs that overlook 98 private or semi-private swimming pools. Every accommodation includes a king-sized bed, a plasma TV, Red Lane Spa toiletries and a private balcony or patio. Booking a room at this Sandals property grants you complimentary green fees at the nearby Sandals Golf & Country Club's 18-hole golf course, plus access to a Red Lane Spa. Overall, vacationers praise the property's friendly staff and highly recommend splurging for a room with butler service. However, many lamented the on-site dining venues. Although travelers have access to 16 eateries (plus five additional restaurants at nearby Sandals Royal Plantation ), many said the cuisine served at most of the dining outposts was not up to par. Others caution that several property amenities are unavailable while the resort undergoes renovations.

Sandals Ochi Resort Review For 2024

The Sandals Ochi Beach Resort is a special destination that offers the perfect balance between adventure, indulgence, and romance. This one completely transcended my “ordinary” idea of what a resort is like.

It’s a culinary having with over a dozen restaurants, an enchanting ambiance, swimming pools to scuba diving, and breathtaking accommodations. While it sure isn’t short on opulence, there really is something for every taste and budget.

I was actually surprised at how much I received for the price, not even taking into consideration the world-class service and amenities I was able to take advantage of!

The enormous 110-acre all-inclusive is understandably a hot sport for weddings and honeymoons, yet it’s the perfect location to celebrate any partnership. It may be just 5 minutes from downtown Ocho Rios, but it’s located on a private beach immersing you in paradise.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort Review

>> check availability and pricing on sandals.com <<, getting to sandals ochi.

Located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica it’s nestled amidst a whopping 100 acres of tropical beauty, the resort just exudes a fascinating atmosphere – from the rolling green hills to the pristine beaches. Needless to say, it is the biggest Sandals resort in all of the Caribbean, overlooking the postcard-perfect sea.

To make it a bit easier to navigate, it’s split into two sides with a road running between the two halves. Jitneys operate between the two lobbies almost all day and night, so it’s not a hassle to get around.

Without the jitneys, it’s simply too risky for pedestrians to be crossing as the road is very busy. They also do a great job of booking wedding parties together so you’re not all running back and forth to each other’s rooms.

I am so grateful for their convenient shuttle service to and from the airport, as well! The Montego Bay airport is about 1.5 hours from the resort, so all you have to do when you go through immigration after arriving is head to the Sandals booth and they’ll get you sorted out.

The Sandals Ochi Beach resort comes with an impressive 529 rooms, which caters to couples, honeymooners, and those who are just married. Remember how I said that the resort was split into two sides? The rooms are on the seaside, and the luxury villas with Butler service are on the hillside.

The villas are a bit longer of a drive and spread out behind the Great House, but with the jitneys, it’s not a problem.

Each of the rooms features a kind of elegant colonial-style decor with dark woods and sleek neutral colors. Each comes with a 4-poster bed with white linens, along with AC, a 40″ LED flat screen, fully-stocked minibars and fridges, coffeemakers (thank goodness), microwaves, an amenities kit, and either a patio or balcony.

While not every single one comes with a water view, I did select the Riviera Seaside section which does include beachside vistas. They come in various categories from the standard Riviera Bamboo Grove Deluxe, all the way to the Villas and Beachfront Butler Suites.

Another fantastic option on the other side is the All-Butler Village, with suites in the Great House along with the option of various poolside villas. I was tempted to reserve one of the villas as they looked quite private and quiet, but you do share a pool with 3 other units, which could be the opposite of that.

The Best Time to Visit Sandals Ochi

Jamaica boasts a consistently nice climate, making it a year-round haven for adventurers. My preferred times to visit are during the dry and idyllic periods from July to August and December to April.

November and December offer temperatures ranging from 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect for a holiday escape. Keep in mind, though, that mid-December to April tends to attract larger crowds. For those who can handle the heat, June to August is prime time, and despite some additional rainfall in June, it’s the best overall climate with fewer tourists.

If you’re on a budget, the rainy season from May to November offers incredible deals on accommodations and flights, and the rain is generally a gentle drizzle rather than a downpour. Personally, I’m a fan of Jamaica no matter the season. The climate is rarely extreme in any way.

What’s Included at Sandals Ochi

With 100+ acres at your disposal, you likely won’t even have enough time to try all of the features and activities included here! I certainly tried to, putting the limitless scuba diving and tennis courts to good use.

If you’ve never been scuba diving before, I can’t recommend taking advantage of this enough. They actually have professional, certified scuba instructors there to take you out and show you everything!

In addition, there are plenty of other water and land-based activities (more on that further down), from billiards to beach parties to enjoy!

As this is a romantic environment, I loved the fact that they included sparkling wine, unlimited Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wines, as well as fresh fruit throughout our stay. Top-shelf liquors are no added costs, and I loved the bars that offer unlimited cocktails and beverages. I didn’t even have to leave the room to enjoy the food and dinks, as room service is free and tips are prohibited (except for butlers)!

Entertainment

Bars : With 11 different bars and top-shelf liquor at no additional cost, cocktails, wine, and beer is never in short supply here. Bars include the Swim Up Pool Bar at the Ochi Beach Club Pool, The Mariners Seaside Bar, Latitudes overwater Bar, Sundowner Bar, Ocean Beach Bar, Miss Ethel’s Piano Bar, The Amphitheater Swim Up Bar, The Polo Lounge Piano Bar, Swim Up Pool Bar at the Greathouse Pool, The Rabbit Hole Speakeasy Bar, The Bar at Kimonos

Live Shows:  After-hours parties, open mic night, talent shows, fire dancers, steel pan bands, reggae grooves, theme nights, beach parties, White Party, karaoke

Other : Chocolate buffet, shuffleboard, lawn chess, croquet, basketball, beach volleyball, board games, pool tables, bocce ball, squash, horseshoes, climbing wall

Pools – It’s crazy to think about, but Sandals Ochi has an impressive 105 swimming pools! Of all of them, The Manor Pool is the biggest, with 3 different levels. I find this is a great meeting place, as you can take a dip, relax in the submerged sun loungers, and even enjoy the firepit that’s literally a part of the pools! Not to mention the swim-up bar with friendly bartenders.

There are 4 whirlpools at the Ochi Beach and Riviera sections, but the Butler Village also comes with private pools for every few villas.

Fitness Center – The state-of-the-art fitness center is open 24 hours a day, so you can always fit in a workout. The machines are all from Life Fitness, along with Cybex, stairclimbers, treadmills, free weights, exercise bikes, ellipticals, and aerobic classes

Business Center – The resort comes with a very clean and modern business center complete with various computers and a printer, along with 4 meeting rooms that hold 500 people.

Spa – The spa treatments here are simply phenomenal, but they do come at an extra cost. It’s a great way to spend time together with your significant other, and you’ll be ready afterward to enjoy all those water sports!

Snorkeling – Snorkeling here is simply amazing, with clear waters and white sand. It’s very easy to get started and see an impressive array of sea creatures!

Kayaking/Paddle Boarding – Whether you choose kayaking or paddle boarding, you’ll be able to see the ocean from another perspective while getting in a workout! The “below the sea” type kayaks are very unique, and offer an even better view of the coral and other sea critters below.

Sailing – Glass bottom boats are included, offering a visual experience not often seen on a sailing experience. I found this to be a more relaxing way to explore, as we weren’t working out or focusing on staying balanced!

Scuba Diving – Unlimited snorkeling is offered at Ochi, with professional instruction included, and use of top-notch equipment. See tropical fish, reefs, and much more through the clear waters. Complimentary Newton Dive Boats will take you out to the best spots for seeing the sealife!

Water skiing/Wakeboarding – I’m a huge fan of board sports, but hadn’t tried either water skiing or wakeboarding out until my trip to Ochi. With pro-level Mastercraft boats to tow you around and professional instructors, you’re in good hands!

Tennis & Golfing – This is simply one of my favorite golf courses, with 18 holes and gorgeous views. The par-71 course even includes mountain and pristine sea vistas. There are both tennis courts outdoors and table tennis if you’re looking for a closer-distance game.

Wedding Accommodations

This is one of the most amazing places to hold a wedding, with huge spaces for the event itself, as well as the breathtaking overwater Serenity Wedding Chapel. There is enough room for even the biggest wedding parties, and after the ceremony, you can all enjoy the first speakeasy in all of the Caribbean: The Rabbit Hole!

The weddings here are so much fun to go to, as everything is taken care of and the staff always thinks of everything. Not to mention, the beautiful seaside views are simply unmatchable!

Pros of Sandals Ochi Resort

Located on a large, private beach near downtown Ocho Rios – it’s easy to access from downtown while still offering the privacy you can expect from an upscale resort.

  • Romantic, adults-only – this is ideal if you want to avoid resorts with children or excess noise.
  • Spacious, upscale rooms with various options – some of the rooms come with optional butler service, while many come with picturesque ocean views.
  • All-inclusive rates – include unlimited meals and snacks at 16 restaurants, as well as room service and alcohol
  • Many outdoor pools – with some including swim-up bars – the property offers a whopping 105 pools, 22 whirlpools, and plenty of space.

Cons of Sandals Ochi Resort

  • Massive size – Property can be confusing to get around – it can be rather challenging to navigate, given the massive property size
  • 1.5 hours from the airport – while it could be even further away, the 90-minute drive can be a bit of a hassle
  • Beach – The beach is a bit small when you take into consideration just how huge the property is.

FAQs About Sandals Ochi Resort

Is sandals ochi resort couples only.

Not at all! It is adults-only, which just offers a bit more relaxation without worrying about having kids around.

Is Sandals Ochi beach private?

It is private, so you can expect a very clean beach with plenty of lounging chairs and allocated sections for swimming and catching some rays.

Is Sandals Ochi a party resort?

Not necessarily. It’s much more an upscale resort, however, don’t think that there’s not fun to be had! I had so much fun at the beach parties with the live music, and it was a great way to meet others from around the world.

Are there nude beaches at Sandals Ochi?

No, there are not nude beaches at Sandals Ochi. The closest one would be in Mandalay Bay.

Optional Experiences at Sandals Ochi Resort

Sure there is a ton of things to do at Sandals Ochi but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get off the property and explore some other things to do. Here are the ones we did that we can recommend:

White River, Blue Hole, Zipline & ATV Experience

This 4-hour tour is a fantastic way to see and enjoy the natural beauty of Jamaica, with professional guides leading the way! Start out at the infamous Blue Hole, where you’ll get to climb up waterfalls, jump into the crystal-blue swimming pools, and much more. After that, zip through the jungle canopy past the lush greenery and critters before heading down on the ground.

You’ll then make your way to a 17th-century Spanish Bridge to float the river on a tube, then dry off by zooming around on an ATV! After that, you’re sure to have worked up an appetite so enjoy authentic Jamaican Jerk and some drinks!

Taste of Jamaica Cooking Class and Estate Tour

Jamaica has some of the most delicious food in the world, as well as some of the most incredible natural scenery. Why not enjoy both in one perfectly arranged tour? With this one, you’ll be able to sit back and relax in a colonial-style Jitney Carriage (similar to the ones on the resort property) while they take you through a 1,000-acre estate. Listen to the sounds of the wheels, the birds chirping, and soak it all in before you dig into a dish of Jamaican Jerk Chicken!

You’ll not only get to taste it though – you’re going to help in creating it! This is a fantastic way to learn how to make the traditional dish and take those skills with you wherever you go. After, go on a casual walk through the bird aviary, where you’ll be able to see all kinds of local, tropical birds!

Luminous Lagoon Experience

If you already have a packed schedule, this is one of the best possible tours I could suggest. It’s an absolutely beautiful experience, that will really give you insight into the magic that Jamaica holds. Lasting just 35 minutes, you’ll get to go on a fascinating night cruise where you’ll get transported to the Luminous Lagoon. This lagoon is known worldwide for its countless microorganisms that emit a fascinating blue glow when touched!

Your guides are experts on the matter and know exactly where to go for you to see the highest concentrations. Enjoy this relaxing, smile-inducing cruise over the glowing blue waters and the cool nighttime air.

Lover’s Rock Catamaran Cruise Ocho Rios

Ochi is all about romance, and what better way to enjoy an evening than on a romantic sunset cruise on a catamaran with that someone special? Lasting 2.5 hours, it’s the perfect way to start off the night with some cocktails before coming back to land for some dinner at the resort. The catamaran is one of the most well-maintained, comfortable vessels I’ve had the pleasure of sailing on, and the service was top-notch.

While you sail along the picture-perfect waters, you’ll get to watch as the golden sunset covers the water in its red and yellow hues while sipping on all kinds of exotic cocktails! The appetizers are tasty, too!

We enjoyed the Sandals Ochi Resort immensely!

For a full review of what’s on offer at this popular resort destination be sure to check out our gift shop which features exclusive merchandise only available here.

Activities at Sandals Ochi offer something for everyone, from beach lounging to exciting water sports. Cost can be a determining factor when organising a journey, and the total expenditure will depend on what activities are selected.

Average Cost

The price of a journey can differ depending on where you go, the lodgings, features and pursuits selected.

When deciding on a destination, consider how much you can afford to spend and research different locations that fit within your budget. Popular destinations like Hawaii or New York City can be more expensive than lesser known spots in South America or Southeast Asia. Consider researching different locations that fit within your budget before making a final decision.

The cost of accommodation can range widely depending on the type of lodging you select. For those seeking a luxurious stay, be prepared to pay more than if opting for an economical alternative such as a hostel or Airbnb. Keep in mind that cheaper options may require some sacrifices when it comes to comfort and convenience – so make sure to read reviews carefully before booking.

Depending on where you go, certain amenities may come with an additional fee such as Wi-Fi access in hotels or spa treatments at resorts. It’s a smart idea to plan for extra costs like Wi-Fi or spa services when making your budget so you don’t get caught off guard.

Activities:

Activities also play a big role in determining the overall cost of your trip – especially if they involve transportation costs (like renting a car). You should research local attractions and plan out which ones will fit into your budget beforehand so that way you don’t end up spending too much money while away from home.

Overall, planning ahead is key when it comes to staying within an average cost range for travel expenses. With some smart shopping around and careful consideration of all factors involved (location, accommodation types, amenities & activities), anyone can enjoy their dream vacation without breaking the bank.

FAQs in Relation to Sandals Ochi Review

Is sandals ochi a party resort.

No, Sandals Ochi is not a party resort. Sandals Ochi offers a range of activities and amenities to suit all types of travelers, from those seeking relaxation or an adventure with their family to couples looking for romance. While there are some lively bars and nightclubs onsite, the atmosphere at Sandals Ochi is more laid-back than that of an actual party resort. The resort also provides plenty of options for those who want to enjoy the Caribbean sunshine without having their peace disturbed by loud music or crowds.

When was Sandals Ochi renovated?

Sandals Ochi was renovated in 2015. With these updates, Sandals Ochi has become one of the premier resorts in Jamaica offering world-class hospitality and unparalleled experiences for travelers looking to make their Caribbean vacation perfect.

Exploring Caribbean

Sandals Ocho Rios: Reviewing Sandals’ Cheapest Resort

Sandals Ochi, is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We visited Sandals Ochi and enjoyed the blend of beachfront paradise and the more secluded hillside so much we returned the following year and wanted to share our review of Sandals Ochi to help you decide if this is the best Sandals Resort for you.

sandals ochi trip

Our Overall Feelings of Sandals Ochi

In general, we have enjoyed both of our trips to Sandals Ochi. We loved that there are 5 large pool areas so you can find one that fits your vibe. There is a large selection of restaurants to choose from including multiple breakfast and lunch options.

When we are at the resort we always ask other guests if they are enjoying themselves and we hear two main complaints, slow service and people who like a part of the resort far from their room.

Sandals Ochi is the largest Sandals Resort and there is a shuttle running between the two areas so it can be annoying if you choose to stay on one side but want to spend your time on the other side. You can remedy this by doing your research beforehand or talking to a Sandals Certified Travel Agent (like us).

For dealing with slow service, we recommend going to dinner around 6:30 to avoid longer wait time, but to be honest we never really experienced long wait times.

For excursions, there are several nearby including Dunn’s River and the Blue Hole. We also loved relaxing by the pool, getting drinks at the swim-up bar, and grabbing a fresh pizza for lunch. Just thinking about that makes we want to go back!

Pricing at Sandals Ochi

As I mentioned before, Sandals Ochi is the cheapest Sandals Resort. Having visited every Sandals Resort, I think this is mostly because it has the majority of rooms further away from the beach and the rooms located on the beach are fairly basic. They are making improvements constantly to the resort so previously run-down rooms are now much better.

Starting at $ 211 , I think Sandals Ochi is a great value. There are still great deals like the weekly 777 deals, last-minute deals, and seasonal discounts which you can check here.

Highlights from Online Guest Reviews

  • Beautiful Manor pool and well-maintained surroundings
  • Convenient access to Sandals Golf & Country Club with green fees included for guests
  • Lively Rabbit Hole nightclub within the resort
  • Immersive tropical experience due to its location amidst lush hillside gardens and nearby jungle

Key Amenities and Services

  • Comfortable and luxurious accommodations, with many offering fantastic mountain and ocean views
  • 105 pools and 22 whirlpools on the property
  • Free Wi-Fi access for all guests
  • Convenient shuttle service within the resort, including transportation to beaches and golf club
  • On-site concierge for any additional requests and upgrades

Arriving at Sandals Ochi

Located in Ocho Rios, the resort can be reached from any of the Jamaica airports. There are a few flights that go directly into Ocho Rios but since there are few, most people come into Montego Bay with a few coming into Kingston as well.

Once you arrive at the airport you either go on a Sandals shuttle or a prearranged private driver. From Montego Bay, it will be about 90 minutes. We took the shuttle from Kingston and we were surprised by the windy roads with potholes, but we were so tired we almost slept during the drive.

On our second trip to Sandals Ochi we arrived in Montego Bay and the ride to the resort was about 90 minutes on good roads.

Starting Your Trip Off Right

Once you arrive at Sandals Ochi, one of the best benefits is knowing you can relax with most things included in your stay.

When I arrive at a Sandals Resort, I like to make dinner reservations and go to the watersports area to understand when they do scuba dives and snorkeling and how to reserve a spot.

Next is to go to Island Routes to decide if I want to take an excursion and to the spa to make any reservations there.

Accommodation Options

sandals ochi trip

Guest Rooms and Suites

At Sandals Ochi, you can choose from a variety of rooms and suites depending on your preferences. The biggest difference we noticed is the location of the rooms.

Butler Village Villas

The Butler Village is a unique area of accommodations not found in other resorts in Jamaica. Instead of feeling like a hotel full of people, the village has villas nestled on the lush hillside of the resort.

The villas have private or shared pools with direct poolside access. Butler Village guests have access to personalized butler service, ensuring every need is catered to and elevating the vacation experience.

Bulter suite room refreshed

If you want to spend more time at the beach, Butler Village is not the best choice. We stayed there for both trips but knew we would go to the other side of the resort for most days.

Manor Rooms

Also on the hillside are the Manor Rooms, which is a structure similar to what you would expect a typical resort to be like with multiple floors. These rooms are close to many different restaurants and the largest pool.

Beachside Rooms

If you want to be close to the beach, these rooms are the best choice. There are also several dining options and pools available in the area.

Dining and Entertainment

sandals ochi trip

Restaurants and Cuisines

At Sandals Ocho Rios, you can experience a wide variety of dining options , with 16 restaurants available on-site. These eateries offer diverse cuisines to cater to every taste preference. A few highlights include:

  • Valentino’s : An Italian restaurant offering classic pasta dishes, risotto, and delightful desserts.
  • Neptune’s : A Mediterranean-inspired eatery with fresh seafood, flavorful salads, and delectable flatbreads.
  • The Jerk Shack : A must-visit spot for those craving authentic Jamaican cuisine, serving up mouth-watering jerk chicken and pork, with a side of local festival bread.
  • The Southern Table: My favorite place for the breakfast buffet.
  • Soy: My favorite dinner spot with great sushi and the best dessert at Sandals, the fried tempura banana.

Guests with dietary restrictions, such as gluten allergies, will also appreciate that the restaurants at Sandals Ocho Rios are accommodating, providing specially prepared dishes upon request.

Additionally, Sandals Ochi offers 11 bars, including 3 swim-up bars, for guests to relax and socialize with a drink in hand.

Bars and Nightlife

sandals ochi trip

Sandals Ocho Rios offers a vibrant nightlife scene compared to other Sandals Resorts, with several bars providing a wide range of drinks, from tropical cocktails to ice-cold beers.

You can go to Jamaica’s only speakeasy , the Rabit Hole, which transports guests to the glamour of the 1920s with its live music, intimate atmosphere, and delicious curated cocktails. Or go to the Sandals Beach Club located near the beach.

Personally, we aren’t night owls or partiers so we would stop by the speakeasy or glance over at the entertainment for a bit before going back to our room.

Onsite Entertainment

The entertainment at Sandals Ocho Rios is fun. During the day, you can participate in various activities like water sports, beach volleyball, or dance classes, but most people enjoy the pools with DJs and swim-up bars with an occasional game or trivia time. At night, the resort comes alive with live performances, themed parties, and music events.

Activities and Recreation

For those seeking recreational activities, the resort’s 18-hole golf course provides a challenging and enjoyable experience. Furthermore, the Ochi Beach Club offers an atmosphere that is both trendy and private, giving guests the best of both worlds. Spacious upscale rooms with ocean views and butler service are available, providing ultimate comfort and tranquility during your stay.

Pools and Beaches

At Sandals Ocho Rios, guests can enjoy a variety of water-based activities. The resort features several pools and beautiful beaches with white sand for relaxation and fun. Visitors can swim in the crystal-clear waters or soak up the sun on the pristine beachfront.

The largest pool at Sandals Ochi

The largest pool is the most lively at the Manor House with a swim-up bar and various activities during the day. Our favorite pool is the Riviera Pool because of the more chill vibes and the pizza restaurant nearby.

If you have a bulter suite you also can relax in your semi private pool but to be honest we never really see anyone doing that.

Golf and Tennis

For sports enthusiasts, Sandals Ocho Rios offers both golf and tennis amenities. The resort features a challenging golf course nearby in Montego Bay, perfect for golfers of all skill levels. Additionally, guests can practice their serves on well-maintained tennis courts within the resort, providing endless opportunities for friendly competition and exercise.

I am not a golfer but took the beginner lesson and enjoyed working on my swing from the driving range.

Spa and Wellness

Guests seeking relaxation can unwind at the luxurious Red Lane Spa, which offers a wide range of rejuvenating treatments and therapies. The spa uses high-quality natural ingredients, ensuring that guests leave feeling refreshed and revitalized after their experience.

Excursions and Local Attractions

Sandals Ocho Rios offers various excursions to explore the local attractions of Jamaica. I think it is the best Sandals Resort to be close to fun activities.

One popular destination is Dunn’s River Falls, a stunning waterfall that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Additionally, guests can take advantage of the resort’s arcade and other on-site recreational facilities for entertainment and fun during their stay.

We loved going to The Blue Hole, River rafting and going down ziplines. All are available within 20 minutes of Sandals Ochi.

Weddings and Celebrations

When we have been at the resort there has always been at least one wedding going on. The resort is perfect for it since there is a wide range of prices for guests to choose from when booking a room. And since the resort is large there are rooms to accommodate large groups.

The resort offers a variety of wedding packages, suitable for various budgets and preferences. Couples can choose from several beautiful locations within the resort, including beachfront settings and secluded spots in the jungle.

The wedding packages typically include:

  • Wedding planner assistance
  • On-site wedding coordinator
  • Marriage license and documentation
  • Ceremony and reception setup
  • Floral arrangements
  • Photography and videography
  • Customizable add-ons to personalize the event

Honeymoon and Anniversary Specials

For couples planning their honeymoons or celebrating anniversaries, Sandals Ochi Beach Resort also provides various specials and perks.

  • Complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability)
  • Romantic room decorations
  • Special turndown service
  • Couples spa treatments
  • Private candlelit dinner
  • Exclusive activities and excursions for couples

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort is known for its adults-only, all-inclusive ambiance, making it a perfect choice for couples seeking a romantic getaway. Whether celebrating a destination wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary, guests can expect exceptional service and a memorable experience at this Jamaican gem.

Southern Girl Travel

Relax...you CAN get there from here!

The Southern Girl Travel Guide to Sandals Ochi Beach!

You probably know by now that we’re big fans of the Sandals family of resorts across the Caribbean.

You can read about the ultimate all-inclusive resorts in our on-going series of Southern Girl Travel Guides to Sandals! including guides to:

Beaches Negril Sandals Negril Sandals Montego Bay Sandal Royal Caribbean Sandals Carlyle  (now known as the Sandals Inn) Sandals Royal Plantation

with more to come.

If you read our last guide to Sandals Royal Plantation, you’ll know that one of the reasons we are such big fans of Royal Planation (one of Sandals smallest resorts at only 74 rooms) is its proximity to one of Sandals’ largest resorts, Sandals Ochi Beach.

Ochi Beach features a variety of rooms types, both on the beach and tucked into the hillsides of Ocho Rios, as well as 16 separate and distinct restaurants, 11 bars, the Sandals Golf and Country Club, and a few special surprises.

Today, in our next installment of the  Southern Girl Travel Guides to Sandals!   we’re featuring Sandals Ochi Beach.

Read a little from Sandals’ official site :

The Most Happening Place is Happening Now…There are two sides to every story. This new all-inclusive resort has a hot new beach club, 11 bars—including the Caribbean’s first speakeasy—and 16 totally on-trend restaurants. It’s exciting and it’s happening – but only when you want it to be. Because the other side of Sandals Ochi Beach Resort offers unsurpassed privacy when you want a more serene escape. A true Garden of Eden encompassing over 100 acres, this resort is so vast and lush that, no matter where you find yourself, you’ll always feel as if there’s plenty of space for just the two of you. All the things that make Jamaica such a uniquely spectacular destination are at the heart of Sandals Ochi. Jamaica’s most dramatic luxury all-inclusive resort has truly arrived.

And having visited recently, we can attest that Ochi Beach really does give you a taste of the best of Jamaica, including the beach, the ocean, and the lush green mountains that make it famous!

Where is Sandal Ochi Beach? Where is Ocho Rios?

We’ve written extensively about how the Montego Bay, Jamaica area can be the perfect spot for a Caribbean getaway.

With resorts like Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Royal Caribbean only a few minutes from the airport, you can lounge on a Jamaican beach less than four hours after taking off from most airports in the Southeast.

If you’re ready to step out a little further into Jamaica, Ochi Beach  is a perfect choice as Ocho Rios is just over an hours’ drive from Montego Bay, east along the coast.

The drive itself is part of the fun.

Transfers from the airport are included and you’ll likely get the fun of a stop at one of Jamaica’s famous roadside jerk shacks. The views of the ocean along the way are magnificent!

A quick note on flying into Jamaica: When headed to Ochi Beach, you’ll be flying into the Sangster International Airport. Sangster is one of the largest and busiest airports in the Caribbean and getting through customs and immigration can be a bear – we always use and we HIGHLY recommend that all our clients utilize the services of Club Mobay .

Club Mobay  is an arrival and departure club/service whose representatives will meet you at your arrival gate, see you safely through customs and immigration, and settle you into their arrival lounge for a drink or two before they connect you with your ground transportation.

They’ll do the same thing in reverse when it’s time for you to (sadly) leave Jamaica.  Club Mobay’s parent company, VIP Attractions, also operates a similar service at Kingston’s airport, known as Club Kingston.

Sandals’ own private arrival lounge is right beside the Club Mobay arrival lounge at Sangster so you’ll be right where you need to be.

If you are using Club Mobay for your arrival, you can pretty easily enjoy both lounges!

This would be a good time to mention the Sandals/Beaches arrival lounge at Sangster.

It’s a cozy spot to enjoy those first few minutes of your all-inclusive experience. The lounge provides a comfortable wait for your transfer to Ocho Rios.

You’ll have places to sit, relax, and enjoy a beer and maybe some rum punch (all are included). Make sure to pick up a copy of the Gleaner – the nearly 200 year-old Jamaican newspaper – and see what’s happening around the island.

You’ll be alerted when your ride is ready and in another hour or so you’ll be pulling up at Sandals Ochi Beach.

Check out this video…Sandals is waiting for you!

Check out a few more of Ochi’s features, again from Sandals’ official site :

  • The All-Butler Village & Great House
  • The Caribbean Riviera
  • Butler service in select categories
  • Surrounded by tropical gardens & ocean views
  • Ochi Beach Club
  • Golf at Sandals Golf & Country Club is included
  • Unlimited fine dining at 16 restaurants
  • 11 bars including 3 swim-up pool bars
  • Caribbean’s first Speakeasy
  • Unlimited premium spirits
  • Unlimited Mondavi ® wines
  • 105 pools and 22 whirpools
  • Unlimited land and water sports
  • Unlimited scuba diving
  • Separate scuba pool
  • Red Lane ® Spa (services extra)
  • Free non-stop round trip airport transfers
  • Free Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas

Ochi Beach is unique among Sandals resorts in that there really are two resorts in one. Again from Sandals’ official site :

Choose the energy of the Caribbean Riviera & Ochi Beach Club overlooking half a mile of white-sand beach, or the privacy of the secluded Butler Villas & Great House Estate on the hillside above. Whatever your choice, love is truly all you need.

You’ll have your choice when staying at Sandals Ochi Beach of accommodations on the beach or further up the hillside from the ocean. Here’s a few more official quotes from Sandals on the choice of surroundings at Ochi Beach:

On the beach:

With its crisp white and French blue appointments and totally on-trend offerings, nobody has captured this unique ambiance quite like the Riviera Village, where every view is composed of blue skies and turquoise waters.

In the secluded hillside above:

Tucked naturally into the hillside, the All-Butler Village is a private enclave of villas that includes the exclusive services of a dedicated personal butler trained by the prestigious Guild of Professional English Butlers.

Check out this video from Sandals for a little more of the “feel” of Sandals Ochi:

The Butler Villas on the hillside above the beach are, of course, home to a collection of accommodations that come with the services of one of Sandals specially trained butlers, a treat that will make your stay that much more special.

Enjoy this video from Sandals Grande Antigua and find out a little more about Sandals’ butler service:

While butler service is exclusive to the Villas, nearly everything else at Ochi really is included! Sandals is one of the originators of all-inclusive and we believe they do it extremely well.

Few Thoughts on All-Inclusive:  If you haven’t already, read our  Southern Girl Travel Guide to Sandals .

You’ll learn more about what all-inclusive means at Sandals.  You’ll be pleased.  At Sandals (unlike some other all-inclusive resorts) all-inclusive means that nearly every thing really is included in the price of your stay.

All your food and drink will be included. We don’t mean just well-brand liquors either. Everything at the bar is included. The only exception we know of is that some Sandals restaurants will offer more exclusive wines at an extra charge, but we have experienced no pressure to purchase.

We have checked out from a week’s stay at Sandals with absolutely no additional charges and you can, too.

Tips are not allowed unless you are in a butler suite – and even then they are not necessary, but you will likely want to reward the amazing service you will receive. Off-resort you’ll want to be prepared to tip as you would anywhere (we’ve noticed some serious pressure to tip in the airport).

Off-resort excursions do cost extra as do a few other things.  Let us know what you’re interested in and we’ll give you all the details .

Accommodations!

What are the rooms really like at Ochi?

Sandals is famous for a wide range of room types and categories. At the writing of this guide (February 2018) Sandals has 4 separate room levels at Ochi, with the most affordable rooms being the Great House Luxury room, and the most extravagant being the Butler Villa with 4 One-Bedroom Suites and Private Pool and the Butler Village Honeymoon Romeo & Juliet One Bedroom Villa Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary.

Just drop us a line and we’ll detail all the room features in each category.

Enjoy a few photos of the various room types:

Food & Drink!

Now for our favorite part of Sandals travel – the food and the drink!

Ochi is a little different than many Sandals resorts. Because of its scale, Ochi boasts 16 separate and distinct restaurants! And because of that number, instead of writing a little about each of them here, we are going to refer you to Sandals’ official website for all the details and feature a few of our favorites here.

Before we jump in here are some things to remember on  dress codes and reservations:

Dress Codes

The dress codes are not at all strict, but they do matter.

Resort casual   includes dress shorts or jeans. Any swimwear must be covered and no bare feet.

Sandals considers  resort evening  to include elegant wear with dress trousers for men, no t-shirts or sleeveless shirts, and dress shoes. Again, the dress codes are enforced, especially resort evening. Men, watch that shoe requirement and make sure to bring a pair of decent shoes in addition to those flip flops and tennis shoes!

Reservations

Many of the popular restaurants can get rather busy at Sandals and we recommend planning what restaurants you would like to try before your travels. Make a list and meet with the concierge immediately upon your arrival to make reservations.

Don’t wait, especially when traveling during peak times.

Again, check out Sandals’ official site for all the detail on the 16 restaurants that Ochi has to offer, and here are a few of our favorites:

There’s nothing quite like the dining experience at Soy Sushi Bar, a quaint restaurant tucked behind bamboo fronds and adorned with unique Oriental décor, dim lighting, and fresh, delectable sushi. Giving guests a taste of the Far East with traditional and contemporary sushi creations, Soy is named after soy sauce, a customary ingredient in the art of sushi. This remarkable sushi house offers exciting flavors and exotic sushi creations made-to-order. Chefs skillfully prepare sushi using only the freshest ingredients. Guests can enjoy a nightcap or pre-dinner cocktail near the stone-lined fire pits, and inside, will discover great ambiance with the stone statues, pendant lighting, and mahogany furniture. When it comes to sushi, Soy has plenty of answers. Sample delicacies like the Orange Blossom, a guest favorite with tuna, crabmeat, and avocado rolled with salmon and topped with Tobiko, mango sauce and unagi sauce. The bar area is popular with groups while the intimate booths create the perfect setting for a romantic evening for two to celebrate a special occasion. With a style that is just as diversified as the inspiring sushi palate, chefs of Soy are eager to present guests with varying flavors of the Far East and share the essence of a consistent house style that is elegantly balanced through their splendid selection of daily specials, soups, sushi, sashimi, and sake.

Soy’s dress code is Resort Casual (see the dress code descriptions above) and reservations are not required. Currently listed hours (which are subject to change) are:

Supper: 6:00pm – 9:00pm (closed on Mondays)

Check out a  sample menu .

Soy really is one of our favorite spots at Ochi. Jamaica is a very long way from Japan, but the sushi was surprisingly good, the atmosphere was terrific, and we found ourselves eating supper one night and stopping in for a snack and a drink every other night we visited Ochi.

The staff remembered us on every visit and Soy will be on our short list for our next visit to Ochi.

Neptune, the Roman god of water and the sea, is one of the most well known deities of Roman mythology. It’s said that his powers are at the core of Neptune’s, our Mediterranean seafood restaurant – and after dining here, you just might believe the old tale rings true. For years, the chefs of Neptune’s have made it their mission to provide the most authentic reflection of Mediterranean heritage through robust menu offerings and a sundry setting. From the splendor of the rustic, open-air restaurant design, to the beauty of the turquoise sea, guests are offered a true, coastal Mediterranean experience directly on the beach, against the backdrop of the beautiful Jamaican Riviera. With casual European elegance, the Neptune-blessed cuisine highlights the best in Mediterranean fare. Eggplant, artichokes, squash, tomatoes, legumes, onions, mushrooms, okra, cucumbers, and herbs are used to embellish three course meals of fresh seafood such as lobster, mussels, octopus, shrimp, salmon, tuna. Traditional delights such as feta lamb kebabs, tzatkiki, and saffron-infused Bouillabaisse are tantalizing temptations. You’ll marvel at sea vistas just within reach, the sweeping views, the inviting, laid back atmosphere, and the divine desserts; but most of all, you’ll laud enticing cuisine said to be touched by a god.

Neptune’s dress code is Resort Casual (see the dress code descriptions above) and reservations are not required. Currently listed hours (which are subject to change) are:

Supper: 6:00pm – 10:00pm (closed on Thursdays)

Don’t miss Neptune’s. The food is great and dining on the beach really is a great experience!

Kelly’s Dockside

Discover Pier Excellence. With an unmatched ambience and irresistibly luscious fare, Kelly’s Dockside is the ultimate in dining al fresco. You’ll marvel at the spectacular views, the lantern lighting, and the delectable cuisine of this over-the-water restaurant. Kelly’s is not only situated in an ideal location, but it also boasts sumptuous delights from land and sea that are just as idyllic. It won’t take long to realize the charm of this serene, seaside bar and grill…and be sure to take a romantic stroll to the end of the pier to view the fiery Ocho Rios sunset. But it’s the famous Kelly’s Sampler that typically steals the limelight with its appetizing combination of jerk chicken wings, conch fritters, beef burritos, marinated feta with sun-dried tomatoes, cured Italian meats, artichokes, and fried rice noodles with marinated vegetables. The beautiful restaurant lit up by lanterns and the Caribbean sun, mixed with mouthwatering culinary delights and the sound of the waves softly caressing the sand, presents guests with a most romantic evening under the starry sky. And best of all, guests can indulge in selections from the innovative Kelly’s menu. From perfectly seasoned meats and seafood, to delectable sides and desserts, flavorful combinations with the sauces to accompany them abound. Guests rave about the juicy filet mignon, the sizzling shrimp, and the spicy salmon. With an amazing sunset, gorgeous views, and the best steak and seafood around, it doesn’t get much better than Kelly’s Dockside, a place you’ll want to brag about.

Kelly’s dress code is Resort Casual (see the dress code descriptions above) and reservations are required. Currently listed hours (which are subject to change) are:

Supper: 5:30pm – 9:30pm (closed on Wednesday)

Where food and drink is concerned, Ochi is unique among Sandals and apparently among resorts across the Caribbean as it has a special speakeasy-style bar/nightclub call the Rabbit Hole.

How about what’s not included?

Of course, once you leave the resort and venture into Ocho Rios, you’re back to the real world where everything is not included. While that’s always an option, we prefer to spend most of our time hanging out at the resort and relaxing.

There are, however, a few options you really should consider for an extra charge.

Sandals Red Lane Spas are available at every resort.  At Sandals Ochi Beach, you can enjoy a number of different treatments including private massages along the beach.  Contact us for all the details .

Sandals features  Island Routes  for off-resort excursions.  There are a ton of choices that – if you like – will let you spend time exploring even the interior of Jamaica, making it back to Ochi Beach for a relaxing evening.

Some of your choices include:

  • Taking an off-road 4×4 safari
  • Swimming with the dolphins
