What to bring: It's best to pack your own sunscreen, beach towel, beach mat, sunglasses, refillable tumbler, hat or cap, aqua shoes or flip flops, and a waterproof bag for your valuables. If your tour operator does not provide rental snorkeling gear, you should also bring your own gear, such as goggles. 

As a safety precaution against COVID-19, it's also best to bring face masks and hand sanitizer or alcohol on the tour. While masks are mandatory outdoors, it's best to keep one with you just in case you decide to visit indoor establishments after your island-hopping tour. How To Book Your Siargao Island Hopping Tour

There are two ways to book a Siargao island hopping tour:

Through your accommodation

This is the safest and most secure option.

They will likely charge you up to 3500 Pesos per boat.

You get the reassurance of it being dealt with properly and have someone to turn back to if anything goes wrong.

Barter with the locals

Head down to where the boats leave (opposite Curry Pot) and negotiate with the local catamaran owners.

It’s advised to head down the day before you plan to go on your Siargao island hopping tour, in order to lock in your driver and confirm a time to meet.

For those short on time, or that prefer everything to be organised for them, there are some awesome tours on Get Your Guide available to book in advance.

Siargao Island Hopping Tour Prices

We opted for the DIY Siargao island hopping tour and all went well.

1500 Pesos for the driver & a boat that seats up to 8 people.

There were 6 of us so we split the cost. A total of 250 Pesos per person.

Extra Costs

Naked Island: Free

Daku Island: 100 Pesos per boat

Guyam Island: 20 Pesos per person

Also, these prices did not include lunch, so be sure to take food with you.

Best Time To Visit Siargao

The best time to visit Siargao is between March and October, the island’s dry season.

As for heading out on your Siargao Island hopping tour, it’s probably the most popular thing to do there. So definitely head out as early as possible in order to beat the crowds!

Before heading out on your Siargao Island hopping tour, make sure to stack up on some snacks from the mainland.

Even if lunch is included, it could be a long day if you get hungry. And there aren’t too many shacks selling food on the smaller islands.

What To Expect On A Siargao Island Hopping Tour

A Siargao island hopping tour is exactly the type of trip you imagine when plan planning your Philippines itinerary .

A full day of floating around tropical paradise, crystal blue waters and sipping coconuts on secluded beaches.

Depending on how much you pay for your trip, determines whether lunch is included. So if you’re on a budget grabbing something local to take with you and plenty of water is a good plan!

The standard trip consists of visiting three of the surrounding Siargao islands – Naked Island, Daku Island and Guyam Island. Typically in that order.

Naked Island

Not a nudist beach, but a small island where you will find nothing but sand. Therefore the island is naked!

It’s a stretch of land around 100 metres long and it’s ideal for just kicking back and having a reality check of just exactly where you are in the world!

Daku Island

The largest of the three islands and a bit more space for exploring.

There are beach hunts available to relax in and a few pop up style island 7/11’s (that’s a joke – there will literally be a local with some cold drinks and crackers to buy).

However Daku is usually the lunch stop, so kick back and enjoy or explore through the palms.

Guyam Island

The final spot of the day and another tiny paradise. Guyam for us was the prettiest, and surrounded by beautiful shallow turquoise waters.

A great place to hang out until sunset if you can last that long and take beautiful photos amongst the scenery.

All in all, our Siargao Island Hopping Tour was one of the best days of our 2 months in the Philippines. If you make it all the way out East, then this has to be on your Siargao itinerary !

Definitely one of the best things to do in the Philippines .

Set in General Luna, within 1.4 miles of Guyam Island and 1.8 miles of Daku Island, Secret Spot Siargao offers accommodation with a garden and as well as free private parking for guests who drive.

Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Each room has a patio with views of the garden.

All guest rooms at the hostel come with a seating area. At Secret Spot Siargao all rooms have a shared bathroom with a bidet.

What To Expect

Before embarking in your island hopping. You will be accompanied with our tour guide to buy fresh food over the market. He will provide you an icebox, so you can store your bought food properly. You will experience the crystal clear water surrounding the 3 islands. There is no specific island to visit first because we need to consider the high tide and low tide of that specific date. Sometimes, you will head first to Guyam Island or Naked Island and always at the middle of the tour will be at Daku Island. This is the Island where you are going to have a lunch. Since it is a private tour, you own your time and phase. There is no specific time that you are going to spend in each island. You will have the boat from 8am to 4:30pm, and you need to be back at General Luna docking port by 5pm. For snorkeling activity for fish sanctuary, sometimes you can do this activity sometimes its very dangerous for you to do this activity due to strong sea current. Basically, it really depends on the weather. Never leave Siargao not doing the island hopping. Visit Daku, Guyam, and Naked Island for a real taste of Siargao's beauty. Since this is a private tour., you will have the option to finish the tour early.

• 2.1 Full refund if there are lockdowns in your area or LGU prohibits guest from entering Siargao Island.

Island Hopping

Visiting the beautiful 1)Guyam, 2)Daku and 3)Naked Islands is a highlight of staying in Siargao. These islands are very close and give you the opportunity to swim, snorkel, explore and relax.

Beautiful beaches & azure blue sea. You will probably have them as your screensaver after your visit.

Details : These islands are short boat rides from General Luna. Island hopping takes approximately 6 hours overall, with collection and drop off at Kalipay Resort, the boat, lunch and tour guide included.

Siargao Tour: 4 Days 3 Nights Sample Itinerary

Since the pandemic hit the country, we stopped offering one of the most requested packages on Siargao Island Hopping: the 4 days 3 nights (4D 3N) package. The reason is that a lot of changes in Siargao’s local tourism policies affected the group of destinations we used to package together.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Siargao by creating your own itinerary. Here’s a sample itinerary you can follow. Feel free to mix and match, or customize to your liking. On a ‘chill scale’ of 1-5, 5 being the most chill – we’d rate this as 4.

• Arrival at Siargao Island. Most guests stay in General Luna, the center of activities like island hopping and where most restaurants and bars are.
• Hotel check-in
• Soak in the island vibe. No rush in doing any major activity. Just explore the area, try a couple of restaurants or have snacks and drinks while watching the sunset.
• Try surfing in Cloud 9, especially early in the morning
• Island hopping tour. You can book our “tri-island tour” where you can explore the surrounding islands and beaches namely, Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island.
• Visit the Magpupungko Rock Pools and Sugba Lagoon.
• Dinner at Bravo beach resort
• Free time for shopping or any other activities of your choice. You can bike around and stop by the stores to buy some souvenirs. There are also activites like yoga, shooting range, boxing. And of course, who says you can’t surf one more time before leaving Siargao, right?
• Departure from Siargao Island.

If you don’t have a credit card or a local bank account, you can just go to the nearest 7/11 store — most probably, there is a branch within 1km radius from your position. Well, may be not exactly 1km but we’d bet there is one near you.

So how does it work ?

The option at the moment can only be accessed if you message us directly on our Facebook Messenger account.

Enjoy the Sunset at Naked Island in Siargao

Looking for the best view of the sunset in Siargao? By default, most would recommend Guyam Island — the last stop on our Tri-Island Tour .

But did you know that Naked Island also has beautiful, unobstructed view of it? As sunset chasers, we’d guess you’d really want to check it out for yourselves. For starters, you might want to see the photos below, taken around 5 pm in Naked Island.

Just a tip: because the island doesn’t have any shade –that’s why it’s called “naked” in the first place — we suggest you go there when the sun’s heat begins to mellow. That’s about quarter to 5 pm including the travel time it takes from Daku Island.

Beginning August 1, new tour rates will apply to our island hopping activities such as Sohoton Private and Joiners tour and Tri-Island Tour in response to local government’s new ordinance standardizing bangka rates and regulating their use in General Luna.

The effect is an increase in our operational costs because we can no longer use our own boats, as well as enjoy the much lower rates from our valued partners.

All boats now have to line up and wait for guests from tour operators. Guests, on the other hand, can no longer choose which boat they like to use.

However, rest assured that despite these regulations and challenges in operations, we will remain true to our values of providing excellent and fun tour service that we have provided our guests since day one.

We will update you of any change in the ordinance.

Island Hopping in Siargao: Sample Itinerary and Inclusions

Island hopping is probably the number one thing everyone would want to do or experience when they set foot in Siargao island.

When guests would ask what island hopping packages are available, our top of mind response is always “tri-island” hopping .

Alright, we have gone a little lazy about naming the islands, but hey it’s convenient and quick. 😀

Okay, basically, tri-island hopping is just our shortcut for Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island tour in one day. Tree islands, hence, tri-island.

These three islands are strategically close to each other and easiest to access, near General Luna which is our jumping point, and generally the most convenient — or shall we say, “chill” of all our destinations.

Unlike other tour operators, our Siargao Island Hopping is only available as a private tour , which gives our guests a more relaxed day. Why?

Well, for one, you have your boat and cottage all to yourselves. That means you don’t have to always wait for others who don’t necessarily have the same agenda as you. They might take more time swimming, or taking photos in the farther part of the island, which means you’d have to wait for them before you can leave. Of course, our tour guide will remind everyone to be on time.

Second — and we believe this is of primary importance for some guests — is that you don’t need to interact with strangers or feel the pressure to make friends with anyone. If is, after all, exclusive to your group.

Is private island hopping more expensive?

A little bit, yes, but it is worth the convenience. With a private tour, we will follow your preferred schedule. It’s really up to you when to start or end the tour, as long as we don’t end at night time, we’re good.

What are the inclusions for your island hopping?

For easier reference, we’ll just put it in a list below.

• Pickup from hotel within General Luna
• Boat / boatman who will be the guide as well
• Lunch and drinks
• Cooking fees
• Entrance fees and docking fees

Basically, we’ll take care of all your needs. You can even upgrade your food if you want additional seafood such as crabs or shrimp. Just let us know beforehand. 🙂

Accommodation

For the accommodation, we offer a homestay at Purok 1 in General Luna, Siargao. It’s roughly 5 minutes away from the market, which is the jump off point of our private and joiner tours.

• Stay is good for 4 days and 3 nights.
• Check-in time is 2PM and checkout is 12noon.

Day 1 Tour: Sohoton+Tri-Island Bundle

Join our daily scheduled tour to the famous Sohoton Cove (Bucas Grande), and cap off your adventure-filled day with island hopping at the Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island.

Tour Inclusions:

• Hotel pickup within General Luna area between 6 to 7 am
• Boat and tour guide
• Entrance fees and environmental permits
• Paddle boat going to the stingless jellyfish sanctuary
• Magkuku-ob Cave
• Hagukan Cove
• Freshly cooked lunch (pork, chicken, fish/squid, shrimp, vegetables, soda and water)
• Entrance fees for tri-island tour

Day 2 Tour: Sugba Lagoon-Magpupungko with Side trips to Maasin River, Pacifico and Malinao

Your adventure in Siargao continues as we explore Sugba Lagoon, Magpupungko Tidal Pools, and side trips to other destinations on the second day of your tour.

Magpupungko Tour Advisory 2019

For anyone who is looking to book a  Sugba Lagoon-Magpupungko tour  between February 15-March 15, 2019, we regret to inform you that Magpupungko will be closed on these dates for renovation.

The dates could be adjusted depending on the progress of the renovation, but for now, this is the timeline given by the authorities.

We apologize for the inconvenience as this was only made official early this month.

In lieu of Magpupungko, we will be offering the land tours instead, namely:

• Sugba Lagoon
• Tayangban Cave
• Malinao Beach
• Pacifico Beach
• Coconut Plantation

Transportation will still be on a van with pickup service from your hotel or homestay.

All the other inclusions will still be the same, namely:

Finally, we ended the tour in Phuket, where we had the opportunity to relax on the beach, go snorkeling, and enjoy the nightlife. The itinerary was well-planned and included a great balance of historical and natural attractions. The tour guides and local partners were friendly and accommodating. The accommodation was comfortable and the food was delicious. I had a great time and would definitely take the tour again.
