Becoming an overnight sensation after her appearance on UK reality TV show, "Britain's Got Talent," Susan Boyle has since impressed, having forged a successful career through her impressive vocal abilities.

From West Lothian, Scotland, Susan Boyle became the point of a media frenzy after performing on the 2009 series of Britain's Got Talent, with her impressive rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream," surprising viewers with her unlikely appearance yet remarkable mezzo-soprano voice. Boyle eventually went on to finish second in the competition, behind the dance troupe, Diversity.

Her 2009 debut record, "I Dreamed a Dream," was a huge success, becoming the UK's best-selling debut of all time and reaching the top spot in both the US and the UK charts. The album was a global hit, faring well in Europe also. A christmas album followed in 2010, titled "The Gift," with Boyle becoming only the third act to achieve success with number one albums in both the UK and US album charts.

With production from Steve Mac, Boyle released her third recording in 2011, "Someone to Watch Over Me," which featured her unique take on classic hits such as "Unchained Melody," Tears for Fears' "Mad World" and Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence." Boyle was privileged to be asked to perform at Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012, taking to the stage at Windsor Castle.

Boyle created the concept album, "Standing Ovation: Greatest Songs From The Stage" in 2012, featuring duets with idol Donny Osmond and Michael Crawford. The album peaked at number seven in the UK charts, her first not to reach the top spot. Another christmas album, "Home for Christmas," appeared in 2013, reaching Gold status in the UK. Her sixth full-length, "Hope," arrived in 2014, which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200.

Live reviews

In retrospect, it’s pretty obvious just what it was that launched Susan Boyle to the most unlikely of international stardom when she stepped out on the Britain’s Got Talent stage back in 2009. It wasn’t her voice - impressive though it is - or any real star power by traditional understandings of that term, but instead the way in which that first audition of hers was staged; laughed off and sneered at by an audience that judged her on appearance and age alone, her delivery of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables was stirring enough to silence her detractors and seal a heartwarming story of triumph over adversity. It’s actually easy to forget that Boyle only came second in the tournament’s final reckoning, with dance troupe Diversity nicking the win, and although she’s gone on to massive success with her albums - selling over nineteen million copies worldwide in just five years - she’s never properly toured, for reasons thought to be associated with her fragile state of mind. Still, she makes occasional appearances at special events, such as the Pope’s visit to Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park in 2010, and remains the unlikeliest of national treasures to this day; her appeal shows no signs of waning.

Seeing Susan Boyle live was breathtaking. She is one of the most talented singers I have ever had the pleasure to witness. She really is a surprising and unique woman and I think everyone should hear her talent! One of the things I loved most about seeing Susan was the gleam in her eye as she sings. Her expressions when she performed really showed the joy she felt and how much she adores singing, it really is marvellous to see. Susan really gave her all when she sang, I loved hearing her voice full of emotion and hitting the notes perfectly, it was beautiful. I loved the simplicity of the set up, the lighting was subtle as not to take away or distract from her talent, the focus was all on her. She wore a gorgeous dress and a pretty sparkling necklace, she really was the star of the show. I can honestly say her voice brought tears to my eyes, there was something about her voice that just connected with me emotionally.

I would recommend anyone to go and see Susan Boyle, she really is a unique talent and inspiration. She shows that you can be successful no matter who you are, which I think is an important message for everyone!

If Susan is coming to a town anywhere near you don't miss her. It was a great show. Her voice is amazing. Her back up singers and of course, the choir were perfect. She can make you laugh out loud or have tears running down your cheeks. Truly a wonderful evening of entertainment.

Susan is an admirable lady. She has the beauty inside and out and she inspires me a lot. I listen to her mostly before bed so I have a good night sleep. I wish for her more shows in San Francisco, Oakland and maybe Berkeley.

Britain’s Got Talent icon Susan Boyle returns 14 years on after suffering stroke: ‘I fought to be back on stage’

Susan Boyle

A true Britain’s Got Talent icon returned to the show for the 2023 final… and it was only Susan Boyle !

Yes, the Scottish singer who said, ‘I am 47, but that’s just one side of me’, before wiggling her hips surprised everyone by coming back to sing a very special song.

Performing with the cast of the West End’s Les Misérables, Susan, now 62, duetted with Lucie Jones, 32, for I Dreamed A Dream, the well-loved tune she sang for her first audition 14 years ago.

But Susan wasn’t the only blast from the past, as you might also remember Lucie from The X Factor back in the day.

In fact, the musical theatre star was a contestant the same year that Su-Bo placed second to Diversity in BGT – what are the chances?!

Susan looked in her element and sparkled in a sequin-encrusted blue dress as she hit all the right notes, proving she never lost it!

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

Susan Boyle, Lucie Jones

Chatting to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after earning a standing ovation from the stunned audience, Susan revealed why the duet was so important to her.

Issuing a health update to the nation, the powerhouse vocalist explained that she suffered a stroke last year.

‘It feels great (to be here),’ she said.

‘It’s extra special for me, last April I suffered a minor stroke and I fought to be back on stage and I have done it.’

Susan received rapturous applause from the crowd, while Simon Cowell was keen to heap praise on her.

‘Susan, we owe you so much,’ he told her.

‘I knew you weren’t well but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back.

‘It wouldn’t be the same without you.’

Viewers at home were shocked to see Susan walk out of the sliding doors – but it was a very nice surprise indeed.

‘Aww! Susan Boyle is an absolute superstar in every sense of the word, so humble. It’s so good to see her back with her microphone!’, one person tweeted.

‘Susan Boyle, I will quite simply love you forever’, another declared.

‘Come on, Susan Boyle! Best moment of the show. Love it!’, one person wrote.

Another praised: ‘So glad that Susan Boyle is back. Still one of the best people to ever come out of #BGT . What a woman’.

Susan Boyle

Susan was shot to worldwide fame in 2009 after her audition to Les Mis spread like wildfire.

She was the hot favourite to win, but it was dance troupe Diversity – including Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo – that took home the prize.

But that didn’t mean Susan missed out, oh no, as she went on to have the best-selling debut album of all time in 2009.

She went on to rake it in by releasing various singles and eight records, earning herself two Grammy nominations and celebrating over a decade in showbiz with a commemorative album and tour.

Meanwhile, in BGT 2023, comedian Viggo Venn was crowned the winner.

Viggo Venn

The Norwegian slapstick star had everyone in stitches with his chaotic routines, earning him a spot on the bill at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

In second place was dancer Lillianna Clifton, while magician Cillian O’Connor came second.

Not everyone was pleased with the result, however, as the likes of Musa Motha and Malakai Bayoh failed to make the top three.

Some called the result a ‘travesty’ while others complained their favourite acts were ‘robbed’.

Susan Boyle's powerful return on 'AGT: The Champions' earns golden buzzer

9 years after she came in second on Britain's Got Talent , Susan Boyle once again found herself singing in front of Simon Cowell on America's Got Talent : The Champions . The newest version of the show features former champions and finalists from around the world competing to be crowned the champion of champions. Despite being famous and having an estimated worth $33 million, Boyle is still hoping to win a Got Talent series. Despite not being an official champion, Boyle proudly said, " For those who maybe don't have the confidence to do things, for those who maybe don't have a voice, the ones who people tend to ignore, I feel I'm a champion for them." Boyle sang a cover of The Rolling Stones song "Wild Horses." She received a standing ovation after her performance and Simon Cowell said, "I can't think of any other contestant who has defined this show better than you, if I'm being honest with you."

Mel B agreed with Cowell. She said, "I just want to say what an absolute honor and a pleasure it is to be sitting here and listening to you, your angelic voice." She then surprised Boyle by pressing the golden buzzer, thus sending singer straight through to the finals. America's Got Talent: The Champions airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Susan Boyle makes emotional return to TV singing 'I Dreamed a Dream' after stroke: 'I fought like crazy'

Boyle brought the judges — including Simon Cowell — to their feet as she discussed her health struggles of the last year: "I have done it."

will susan boyle tour again

Susan Boyle 's dream came full circle on the show that made her a star, while she also made a stunning admission about overcoming a serious health condition to make it back to the global stage.

The 62-year-old Scottish singer made an emotional return to Britain's Got Talent Sunday, joining the Les Misérables West End cast to perform "I Dreamed a Dream," the song she first used to audition for the reality competition in 2009.

Boyle made a surprise appearance at the top of the song, before the entire cast of the stage production joined her for an epic finale.

At the end of the song, the show's judging panel — including Simon Cowell , who was present for Boyle's first audition 14 years ago — rose to their feet to applaud the singer's performance.

Boyle told the crowd it "feels great" to be back on stage, before revealing that she struggled with a significant setback last year.

"It's actually special for me, because last April, I suffered a minor stroke," she said. "I fought like crazy to get back on stage, and I have done it."

Cowell then spoke in praise of Boyle's "unbelievable" triumph.

"Susan, we owe you so much, and I knew you weren't well, but, if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back," he told her. "We wouldn't be the same without you. You are amazing."

Since placing second on Britain's Got Talent 's third season, Boyle went on to become a worldwide sensation. She's released seven studio albums to date, including her debut LP, I Dreamed a Dream , which became the world's best-selling album of 2009.

What is Susan Boyle doing now? The British singer plans to return to the stage soon

  • by Chege Karomo

Susan Boyle is a Scottish singer who rose to fame for her rendition of  I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables  on the third series of  Britain’s Got Talent . Despite her second-place finish, Boyle signed a recording contract with Simon Cowell’s label Syco Entertainment.

Boyle’s first album,  I Dreamed a Dream , became the UK’s best-selling debut album of all time and set the record for biggest first-week sales by a debut album. Her second album,  The Gift , topped charts in the UK and the US twice in 2010. So far, she has released eight studio albums, with the latest one,  Ten , dropping in 2019.

Susan is excited to return to the stage after spending months in isolation due to the coronavirus

Susan Boyle

After completing her Ten tour in the first weeks of March 2020, Susan retreated to isolation as the coronavirus spread like wildfire across the world. As a type-2 diabetic, Susan heeded advice to self-isolate as her condition put her at a greater risk of succumbing to the deadly virus.

Boyle has no plans to retire soon, however. She plans to emulate her idol Elaine Paige by singing well into her seventies. During her famous BGT audition, Boyle amused the crowd by stating that she wanted to emulate Paige. Few took her seriously, but as soon as the first notes came out of her mouth, none doubted that Elaine was destined for greatness.

“I love what I do and want to keep doing it so long as the public enjoys it,” Elaine told The Sun . “I’m going to hang on for dear life to what I do. I’ve not been able to do much. But that will change later, I’m always an optimist.”

Self-isolation was as tough on Susan as it was on everybody else. “I’ve had days when I’ve felt low or stuck in a rut, or bored or staring at the same four walls – but everyone’s been in the same boat,” Susan added. In March 2021, Susan took a huge step towards returning to the stage by getting vaccinated. She wrote on Instagram :

“Monday felt for the first time like there is light at the end of the tunnel. There is so much disinformation surrounding the vaccine but I encourage you to go out and get the vaccine when it’s available to you. I am grateful for science, grateful for medicine and especially grateful to the wonderful NHS nurses and doctors.”

The specifics of Susan’s return remain unclear. However, a source speaking to The Sun mentioned that she was hoping to perform in the US in November. The source added that organizers had approached Boyle about performing in a string of shows in Las Vegas in late 2021. The source said:

“Susan is really excited to be asked and she is hoping to head over to the US in November to perform if she can. She has been holed up in Scotland during the pandemic but she is desperate to get back out there singing again. She loves working – and she could definitely be tempted by some sequins.”

Susan’s planned tour didn’t happen, but we hope to see her back soon.

Despite her considerable wealth, Susan still lives in her family home in West Lothian, Scotland

Susan Boyle

Two years before her  BGT  audition, Susan Boyle had lost her mom. She felt hopeless and devastated after the loss, but she later revealed that some sort of divine intervention involving her mom pushed her along during the competition. “I’m sure there was divine intervention involved,” Susan said.

Boyle secretly panicked after she placed second in BGT. “I didn’t want to go back to my old life,” she told  The Metro . “Then Simon [Cowell] came running up on stage and whispered into my ear that I had a recording contract no matter what and the panic gave way to exhaustion.”

Susan quickly brushed off her BGT disappointment and delivered three chart-topping albums in three years. It took Boyle a while to get used to the sudden fame. “The biggest change was really the instant fame, from being a wee unknown lady with a cat in Scotland to being recognized wherever I went,” Boyle told  People . “It took some getting used to.”

Boyle’s net worth skyrocketed into the millions as her albums achieved record sales. Nevertheless, she remained humble and grounded, unwilling to live life as most celebrities do. She still lives in her family home in Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland.

“It’s good to be in your mum’s house as well, there’s a lot of nice memories in my mum’s,” Susan told  The Sun . “I sort of feel she’s present here, somehow.” Susan doesn’t have a partner to share her house with. She’s been single for the past seven years.

In 2009, Boyle famously revealed that she’d never been kissed. She met her first boyfriend, a Connecticut doctor, during the US leg of her 2014 tour, Susan Boyle in Concert. The pair met in Clearwater, Florida, and had planned to move in together in Scotland. “I hope he comes over,” Boyle told  The Sun .

“All I’ll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy.” Unfortunately, the relationship ended, and Susan has been single ever since.

As an accomplished female artist in the UK and around the world, Boyle has proven that living with Asperger's doesn't have to be a death sentence. Although she battles anxiety and mood swings, she acknowledges how she's feeling and chooses the best way to cope.

"If I feel like I'm going to take a mood swing, I get up and leave. I've learnt that the hard way." She says she feels her best when she's performing. "Off stage, it happens lots. It always has. On stage, I'm a different person. I feel accepted," she told The Telegraph .

<p>Boyle doesn't want to live a life of luxury and excess. And she doesn't want to give hand-outs to her relatives so that they can drive fancy cars and wear fur coats either. Susan Boyle, the Scottish singer who became an overnight sensation while competing on “Britain’s Got Talent,” revealed Sunday that she had a stroke last year.

The 62-year-old mezzo-soprano shared the health update on live TV when she returned for the Season 16 finale of the talent show that launched her career in 2009. Boyle joined Lucie Jones of the West End Cast of “Les Misérables” to perform “I Dreamed a Dream,” her original audition song from 14 years ago that plucked the the modest church volunteer from obscurity and made her a YouTube superstar .

Boyle, who lost her season in a heartbreaking upset to dance troupe Diversity, said it felt great to be back on the show this week.

“It’s extra special for me, actually, because last April there, I suffered a minor stroke,” she told the hosts onstage. “I fought like crazy to get back on stage and I have done it.”

“Britain’s Got Talent” judge and creator Simon Cowell welcomed Boyle back for the live finale and praised the singer, who has since mounted a successful recording career despite her loss on the show. (Boyle has sold more than 20 million albums and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards. She has also performed for the late Queen Elizabeth II, President Obama and Pope Benedict XVI.)

“Susan, we owe you so much and I knew you weren’t well, but if anyone was going to come back you were going to come back because it wouldn’t be the same without you,” Cowell said.

Boyle further opened up about her health scare in a Facebook post following the performance.

“Tonight I had the privilege of returning to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and performing with the wonderful cast of ‘Les Miserables,’” she wrote. “This evening was even more special for me as in April of 2022 I had a stroke.

Critic’s Notebook: Susan Boyle, easy fame and mental health

June 1, 2009

“For the past year I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed A Dream,’” she wrote.

In 2009, when Boyle came in a surprise second during the show’s final round, the “emotionally drained and exhausted” performer apparently collapsed from nerves and exhaustion and was admitted to the Priory Hospital, a psychiatric clinic in London .

Boyle shared in 2013 that she had been diagnosed with what was then called Asperger’s syndrome , a developmental disorder on the autism spectrum that affects social interaction and communication skills. As a child, Boyle said, she suffered from learning disabilities she was told resulted from oxygen deprivation at birth. In 2012, she sought the advice of a specialist who determined she had an above-average IQ.

“I was told I had brain damage. It was the wrong diagnosis when I was a kid,” she told the Observer in 2013. “I always knew it was an unfair label. Now I have a clearer understanding of what’s wrong and I feel relieved and a bit more relaxed about myself.”

By 2019, the recording artist said that she had amassed a multimillion-pound fortune but tried not to flaunt it because she remembered how “miserable” it was to be poor. That same year, she performed on “BGT’s” U.S. counterpart, “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” The all-star performed “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones and earned the high honor of the golden buzzer from judge and former Spice Girl Mel B.

What happened to Susan Boyle after Britain's Got Talent and what is she doing now?

By Christine Estera | 10 months ago

Everyone loves a good underdog, and Susan Boyle was exactly that when she auditioned for Britain's Got Talent back in 2009.

Taking to the stage in front of arguably the harshest critics in the business, judges Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan , Boyle held her ground and belted out her rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Misérables . There wasn't a dry eye in the arena.

The song catapulted the Scottish singer into the finals of the competition. And although she didn't win and placed second, she became an international superstar.

Here's what became of the shy woman whose incredible voice won over the world.

Susan Boyle auditions for Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

What happened to Susan Boyle after Britain's Got Talent ?

After her momentous audition on Britain's Got Talent , Boyle was instantly recognised –– not just in the UK but across the world.

Her audition alone was the most-watched YouTube video of 2009, clocking up 120 million views that year. It has now received 262 million views (and counting) in the 24 years since the show.

Boyle released her debut album in I Dreamed a Dream in 2009 shortly after BGT wrapped. Upon its release, it was hailed the fastest-selling UK debut album of all time. To date, she has sold 25 million records worldwide and clocked up 250 million audio streams and 650 million YouTube hits.

The singer went on to release seven albums. Her most recent one dropped in 2019 and was called Ten — a compilation of her biggest hits in the last decade.

Susan Boyle and Donnie Osmond perform at the Flamingo Theater inside the Flamingo Hotel and Casino on October 17, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She has also performed with her idol, singer Elaine Paige, in London, while also singing a duet in Las Vegas with her other musical idol, Donny Osmond, in Las Vegas.

Boyle has also performed in front of the Queen twice — in 2012, Boyle sang at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and then graced the monarch again with her voice in 2014 at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, her home country.

The singer has also received two Grammy nominations for Pop Vocal Album in 2011 for I Dreamed A Dream and Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2012 for The Gift .

"The biggest change was really the instant fame, from being a wee unknown lady with a cat in Scotland to being recognised wherever I went. It took some getting used to," Boyle would later tell People in 2019.

Did Susan Boyle have a stroke?

In 2023, Boyle made a surprise appearance on Britain's Got Talent , her first TV performance in years. On the show, the star opened up about her fears her illness may have prevented her from "ever performing again".

"It feels great [to be back] – it's extra special for me actually because last April I suffered a minor stroke," Boyle told the audience. "I thought I wouldn't get back on stage and I have done it."

She performed the song that started it all –  I Dreamed A Dream – alongside the cast of West End musical Les Miserables.

Boyle shared some snaps from the night on Instagram, with the caption: "For the past year I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, 'I Dreamed A Dream'."

According to some sources , Boyle had to undergo rigorous rehab to retrain her voice following the stroke, as it affected her ability to control some facial muscles, leaving her with a dropped face and slurred speech.

What song made Susan Boyle famous?

Boyle sang 'I Dreamed a Dream' from the musical Les Misérables when auditioning for Britain's Got Talent . And while she all smiles before and after her performance that fateful day, there was a sad backstory to her audition.

In 2007, just two years prior, her mother had died aged 91 and the loss was devastating for Boyle, who in 2012 was diagnosed with Asperger's — a condition that affects one's ability to socialise and communicate.

"I had just lost my mum and I had nothing to look forward to, so I have no doubt it was a blessing," she later told The Sunday Post of her audition. "I think that was my mum's way of telling me to keep going, that I had something to offer.

"I'm sure there was divine intervention involved. My mum's still looking after me now, she's still here and she has given me the confidence to do what I do."

Who won Britain's Got Talent over Susan Boyle?

Boyle was arguably the most popular contestant during Series 3 of Britain's Got Talent . TV personalities Oprah Winfrey and Larry King wanted to interview her and actor Ashton Kutcher shared a clip of her audition to millions of his Twitter followers. But somehow, Boyle did not go home with the coveted BGT trophy.

The title and £100,000 prize money (approx. $178,000) was awarded to dance group Diversity, with Boyle recalling secretly panicking after the winner was revealed.

"I didn't want to go back to my old life," she later explained to The Metro . "Then Simon [Cowell] came running up on stage and whispered into my ear that I had a recording contract no matter what and the panic gave way to exhaustion. I was so tired, I tried to do my best but got so completely overwhelmed with the thought of not doing my best, or messing up my performance that I couldn't sleep or relax.

"That said, the best men won on the night and Diversity were a great group and well, I think I proved that it's no bad thing to come second!'

What did Simon Cowell say to Susan Boyle?

The TV judge and record producer initially scoffed at Boyle when she introduced herself to the crowd ahead of her 2009 audition. And he's the first to apologise for judging a book by its cover.

"I can remember vividly how disgusting I was on the day, before you sang — and then what you did, and what happened afterwards," he admitted to Boyle when she returned to perform at an America's Got Talent special in 2019.

"I mean seriously, [your performance] was fantastic. You're a champion."

What is Susan Boyle doing now?

As mentioned above, Boyle was one of the contestants asked to compete in America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2019.

Singing 'Wild Horses', Boyle received a Golden Buzzer from judge Mel B , sending the hopeful straight to the finals. Unfortunately, she didn't win that time either but Cowell was nonetheless impressed.

Susan Boyle attends "America's Got Talent" Season 14 Live Show Red Carpet at Dolby Theatre on August 20, 2019 in Hollywood, California.

"You know what Susan? I can't think of any other contestant who has defined this show better than if I'm being honest with you," he told her. "You're the one, you made a huge difference in a lot of people's lives. I'm absolutely thrilled you're here."

Boyle remains an active recording artist signed to Cowell's label Syco Entertainment. In 2021, she performed her song "Wings To Fly" at the Tokyo Olympics Opening Ceremony.

In June 2023, she made a surprise guest appearance on Britain's Got Talent, performing 'I Dreamed A Dream' with X Factor star Lucie Jones.

How old is Susan Boyle?

Susan Boyle is 62 years old. She was born on April 1, 1961 in West Lothian, Scotland.

Where does Susan Boyle live?

Despite her newfound fame and fortune, Boyle still lives in her family home in Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland. She was raised in the town by her miner and veteran father Patrick and her mother Bridget, who was a shorthand typist.

Boyle has said in previous interviews that she has no plans to leave the family home as it's where she feels closest to her later mother.

"It's good to be in your mum's house as well, there's a lot of nice memories in my mum's," she told The Sun in 2019. "I sort of feel she's present here, somehow."

Susan Boyle arrives home in the snow as the United Kingdom is swept by snowstorms and blizzards on December 22, 2009 in Blackburn, Scotland.

Is Susan Boyle married?

Boyle has never married and is currently single. She famously revealed back in 2009 that she had never been kissed, and only met her first boyfriend when she was 53.

Her rep revealed to CBS in 2014 that Boyle was dating a Connecticut doctor during the US leg of her tour, Susan Boyle in Concert . They reportedly met in Clearwater, Florida, and they made plans for him to move to Scotland to be with her.

"I hope he comes over. I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy," she told The Sun at the time.

Sadly, the couple would later split and during an interview with UK talk show Loose Women , Boyle said she hasn't dated in the six years since.

What is Susan Boyle's net worth today?

Susan Boyle is reportedly worth a cool US$40 million (approx. $52 million). Not bad for someone who came runner-up.

Susan Boyle Still Lives in This Adorable Scottish Cottage House from Childhood (VIDEO)

The  Britain's Got Talent  Season 3 finalist has been residing in the cozy place for all her life.

will susan boyle tour again

Susan Boyle has sure come a long way since wowing the world on  Britain's Got Talent   in 2009, but she has still managed to stay humble.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 19 premiere of America’s Got Talent Tuesday, May 28 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock .

In 2021, the singer gave  OK!  a tour of her darling childhood home in Scotland, which she still lives in today. Read all about it, below.

Susan Boyle's childhood house in Scotland

To start us off, Boyle showed us the lovely grand piano room with pride.

''That's a giggle for a start, cause I can't even do scales. I'm only learning at the moment, though. It's a bit like driving a car. It takes a bit of time,'' she told the cameras.

Then came the kitchen, which was recently revamped. ''You got to have a mess before you have a palace, so this is the end result. It was a tiny kitchen before. There was a big round table and four chairs, and a cooker. You really had to watch what you were doing.''

Next up was the living room, which gave off a super homey feel, and was also redone with new walls and flooring. ''With me being away all the time, you tend to overlook [certain] things,'' Boyle said.

Upstairs, we got to see Boyle's very own room that she grew up in.

''There's a bit of a history attached to this house. There used to be nine of us in it,'' Boyle said.

Then, we catch a glimpse of a sign that said ''Dream'' hanging on her window.

''That's always my motto, to keep your dreams,'' Boyle said with a smile. Looks like that mindset sure paid off well for her!

Boyle then explained that she shared the room with two of her sisters, the late Bridie (who died in 2015) and Cathy. Another sister, Mary, got married and ''left the nest'' years earlier.

''I used to have my record player in the corner,'' she said sentimentally, reflecting on her surroundings.

Susan Boyle performs during the Donny & Marie variety show at the Flamingo Las Vegas October 17, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

''My humble abode. I've been here a lifetime now. Nearly 60 years,'' she proudly concluded the tour.

In an interview with  OK! , Boyle explained what drove her to purchase the house and stay with it, despite achieving massive fame .

"It’s to do with the memories of your house and your upbringing, you need to take stock of things and maybe see where you come from and where your roots lie," she told the outlet. "It’s best to be grounded and with your roots. It keeps you grounded and prevents you from saying things maybe you shouldn't say."
