• A one hundred percent (100%) penalty will apply to any cancellations made within twenty-four (24) hours or on the same day as the booking.
• To be eligible for a refund, all cancellations must be submitted in writing to the company and received by Just Because Tours within the specified timeframes mentioned earlier.

You will be able to see and experience some of the earliest methods of extracting juice from sugarcane, and learn about the unique distillation process.

Appleton Estate Rum Tour also takes you on a tour of the Estate’s grounds. Take in its bea uty, character and colour and take advantage of the many unique photo opportunities. On our Rum Production tour you will also visit one of our barrel houses where the rums age to perfection.

After the Appleton Estate Rum Tour  you will understand why Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum is the finest rum in the world. The Rum Tour takes place from Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with tours every hour. We welcome individuals and tour groups.

Appleton Estate Tour

Upon reaching the estate, the tour guides will illustrate the history of rum making in the region. After a lively discussion of the days when sugar cane was crushed by donkey power, the tours move on to a behind the scenes tour of the modern facility. After the tour, you will sample all the rum and wine they made.

On this tour, you will learn the historic production process of Appleton Estates’ Rums. You will see earlier methods used to remove juice from sugarcane, learn about the distillation process in their 200-year-old pot stills and visit one of the Estate’s barrel houses where rums age to excellence. We will provide you with roundtrip transportation from your hotels/resort to Appleton Estate location.

Start your day driving through the beautiful Pedro Plains farmland and on to the historic town of Black River, where you can pick up whatever supplies you may need.

Continue through Bamboo Avenue, a 3-mile long stretch of road shaded by an archway of giant bamboo.

Then it is off to the newly renovated state of the art Appleton Rum Factory Tour. Learn of the early methods of distillation, complete with demonstrations, right on up to today’s distillation processes. Once you’ve toured the facilities you will understand why Jamaican rum is known as some of the best rum in the world. Of course, no rum tour would be complete without the rum tasting!

End the day with a lovely drive on a country road taking you along the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains and back home to Treasure Beach.

Jamia Quest Tours handled our entire trip from he beginning in regards to choosing the best place to go on tours. This was totally worth my time…It’s kind of a road trip from our resort to get there as you go across the country, but when you get to the property the tour guide was great and the tour of the factory is world class. We even got a sample of the Jamaican rum.  I would give it a 10 out of 10!

It said to offer unlimited drinks, snacks, snokling, a party on the boat, a tour of Negril and then get to go to Rick"s Cafe. Jamwest is a cool hangout spot. The staff is friendly and cool. Check out the gift shop. Back to the excursion... it was not worth $90. The drinks were unlimited and the "snacks were just bags of chips. Getting onto the boat from the beach, they make you walk through the water with all of your belongings. That was not told when booking. Also, getting on and off the boat is dangerous. You really don't need to bring anything, but money. The ride was horrible. Myself and 2 others became nauseous. You couldn't get up and party due to the horrible ride. The bathrooms had no soap or running water. If you decide to snokle, you get the gear. For those who are not snokling, you just sit on a quiet boat. The DJ turns the music off and it is completely quiet on the boat. You only get an hour at Rick's Cafe. Which isn't not enough time to truly enjoy yourself. Once there you can jump of the cliffs. He was energetic and extremely knowledgeable of the history and areas we were passing through. My wife hates to be cold and wet, but took one for the team. Davian took the time to accommodate my wife making sure she didn’t get as wet as the others, but in a manner that didn’t take away from others in the tour. We had to pay our way back too and I didn’t want to. I was told by Velma that the resort will call the cab if we want to leave earlier than 3. At 2 we asked Velma for our cab and he was on another route, couldn’t come. We asked other taxi drives from the same company to take us back to the ship and they said we have to pay again. Then, we found our cab hiding in the parking lot, waiting for 3 o’clock so he can take more people in one transport. The name of our driver was Dexter. The beach was crowded and shallow water to the waist. Narrow beach! When locals lie to tourists is bad business. Never again there! Read more Written February 3, 2024

• mattf9Trees 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Time Pon De Sea to Boobie Cay island for lunch. Time Boat ride and lobster lunch were great. Tiki boat arrived early wonderful. Also got us back in good time. The island has 5 “kitchen” set up for 5 different cruise companies bringing to island. My outsider recommendation is to clean the beach. Nobody coming there wants to walk through the crap to get to the kitchen. Take off the sponges and leaves to better welcome guests. Also need to get someone on clean up duty. The island is littered with trash, nobody paying $1200 for a boat ride to private island expects the trash that over shadows the experience. Clean up the beach and amenities for the guests. The driver on the open air carriage pulled with a massive tractor was VERY entertaining... Funny, The food preparation was great. The food was awesome. CANNOT give more starts because we are not able to. The mansion was very well kept and views to Caribbean were perfect. WHAT A PERFECT DAY. We had the jerk chicken, rice with a coconut sauce (only if you want) the festive break was perfect, steamed callaloo (like a warm spinach) was tasty. Had a GREAT day... THANK YOU..... He picked us up from the hotel in Ocho Rios and told us a lot about Jamaican history and topography on our drive to Kingston. He dropped us off at the Bob Marley museum for a one hour tour. On our way back, he took us to a hilly section of Kingston so we got an aerial view, and to some sections of the city we were interested in (Sabina Park, the harbour). Finally, we drove through the breathtaking fern gully and lush Jamaican countryside, on our way back to the hotel. Read more Written December 30, 2023
